Im half Vietnamese. Took my gf here. We eat Vietnamese food regularly. We both drink a lot of coffee. Have had Vietnamese drip coffee and make at home. Also buy 3 in 1 instant coffee myself for convenience at home. To my shock and embarrassment when gf ordered cà phê s a nóng they gave her 3 in 1 instant coffee and would not admit it. I drink instant coffee daily and know the taste well. I can even tell you the brand and variation: Vinacafe chat. This pissed me off so much over the entire meal. If my Vietnamese dad was there I think he would have lost his mind on these people. If you are going to do a thing then do the thing. Dont embarrass me to have Vietnamese heritage. Serving staff were fine though. EDIT: Vietnamese drip coffee is one of the things where Vietnamese people made an amazing unique thing and I dont understand why these people have no respect for their own culture or maybe they are busy cheating people. Its like an Italian restaurant serving folders instant coffee. Wtf.

Extremely delicious, quick, fresh and hot. Portions are great and the menu has lots of variety, very authentic! We will definitely be returning.

The pricing is misleading or I was ripped off. I believe it was the former but gave him the opportunity to explain. I placed an order for pickup for a small spring roll $6.99, two beef vermicelli $29.98 (total)and a medium wonton soup $12,99 (pricing is according to their website) I was expecting to pay $55-ish incl tax. Although I did not add up this total prior to pick up I expected our usual cost but was surprised to pay 65 in cash. I always pay cash to local restaurants. Went home check the pricing and realized I overpaid. I called and mentioned I was overcharged. After long hesitation i was informed the menu online has not been updated with the new pricing. This is a pretty big discrepancy in my opinion. I advise that if you are placing an order on the phone that you make sure you receive a total before you pick up your order. This way if theyre pricing is out of date they should make you aware of the current pricing. Ive been going here a long time and I believe I was ripped off especially when I mentioned I pay cash. I advise again that you confirm the total or pricing per item before placing your order and ask for a receipt once you arrive no matter how you are paying.

One of the best vegetarian pho bowls around. The soupbase had a hint of lemongrass, which made it so flavourful. The ingredients were all very fresh; highly recommend the crispy tofu appetizer and vegeterian tofu spring rolls. This Pho place is the best in town. I noticed they have changed the menu design which is more convenient than the old. At night when it s packed there s only 1 server i feel bad for the young man who s stressed. They should hire another server. but either way I love it here. The owner is always welcoming.

I ve been going there from since I was a kid and the atmosphere and the guy that is there. It s just absolutely amazing and they re so caring and very friendly and warm. I always get the The chicken pho When I m sick and Usually, we will call and let him know like it s because I m sick and he would make sure that there is something extra to help me feel better.

Ordered chicken pad Thai, some how came up to $21 majority of the meal was large vegetables and some chicken and tofu. Photo is the majority of vegetables after all the noodles and chicken are gone. Seasoning was lacking and portions are questionable.

Standard Vietnamese food. Barely acknowledged by server except for initial greeting upon entering. Food came way too fast which made us sick. So these items were not fresh. Ordered the pork and chicken rice plates. Not coming back. I wouldnt recommend this place. Would give 0 stars if possible.

There was only one staff there every time I visited. The guy is super rude and has no courtesy with customers. I wonder how he works there for so long unless he is the owner himself. Food is good but so scared to even talk to the guy. I wonder how there are some positive reviews unless he and his friends wrote it .

Very bad experience from one of the serving person . He is very racist . Ver bad attitude and he doesn t care about anyone else. They took 30 minutes to get the orders. We went there three times and this same person showed up same attitude.

Disappointed by the Pho, was very hungry and went for and XL Special Pho. The beef broth was mixed with chicken ! although meet was beef. Ingredients quantity for and XL bowl was poor. Not a place to enjoy a good Pho for me. Havent tried the rest of the menu though. Food

I always get the rare beef noodle soup. It consistently comes out hot, fast, and delicious. I would go weekly If I lived closer.

Really disappointed with Special Pho. One of the worst Pho I ate in my whole life. A bag of instant noodles would be better of than this soup.The Basil herbs were not fresh and wilted. The server with baseball cap is unprofessional.

This was my second time here. The first time I ate here for 2 , I ordered 2 different dishes including a large pho and didnt have an issue sharing the pho. However this time, with a smaller appetite, I was interested in ordering an xl to share with my husband. I was told sharing is not allowed by the owner and pretty much forced to order another dish. So I downgraded my xl to a medium.After I ordered 2 dishes including the pho, I asked for a small bowl so my husband could have some...GUESS WHAT ? They didnt have an issue sharing!! I asked for 2 cups of water and never received it. Also when I went to pay my bill. They charged my for the xl and didnt bother giving me the itemized receipt until I asked for it. Such a scam. Didnt bother apologizing either ...I think they are borderline racist. This is why they have such a poor rating on all platforms and its always dead when you go. I will be emailing the owner and advising them of such poor service. I will never go back there and encourage anyone to eat at Vietnamese pho on simcoe and Taunton. So much better!!!

The food quality is average with good portions. However the service is just horrible. It s a family run business and the man is passable and attempts to make some conversation but the lady and the server are just awful and only scowl at you. The washroom was filthy and liked like it hadn t been cleaned in weeks.

Pho soup was great!

Ordered 2 pho dishes. One medium house special and one large seafood. Pro: good broth flavour, food came fast Con: literally one piece of meatball, crab meat, shrimp, and equal amount of noodles between the medium and large size dishes, poor service (no one came by to top up water, literally no words exchanged after order was placed). Paid 45$ for the meal and had to get food after because we were still hungry.

My family & I have been coming here for years! We have always had fast and normal service. My mom visited recently and told the owner that the cold rolls didn t taste right after taking a bite. We order them every time we go, and there was something wrong this time as they had a bad taste. After she paid, she politely told the man and he refused to admit anything could have gone wrong. He threw her money back at her! I cannot believe someone would act so poorly to a customer they know comes very often! So sad because we won t be returning here.

The worst pho I ve ever had. I got the house special XL for 17$. Gave only one small slice of each thing. Then broth tasted like chicken noodle soup mix from a can. This place has zero love put into their food. I m still hungry. Skip this place.

Disappointing experience especially if you compare the food to even average Vietnamese restaurants across GTA. Food was low on flavor, cutlery and plates were cheap quality and not properly cleaned. Not coming back here.

Absolutely terrible experience today! Went to share a house special soup and the manager told me that I wasnt allowed to share the XL soup with my coworker. Only children are allowed to share. I go all over Durham and Toronto and share the XL soup no problem.

Fabulous stop, my husband raved about it and makes it one of his places when he goes to Toronto. The owner was fun and chatty!!! And was a happy place with lots of decorations and it felt very authentic!!!!

Our favourite pho spot in Durham region. Nice family owned restaurant. Our favourites are rare beef pho, tom yum and bun bo hue (one of the best bun bo hue I ve tried). Definitely try the bun bo hue, it so flavourful.

Food is excellent. The Pho and the spring rolls were fresh and delicious. Service is very mediocre, they forgot our milk tea for the entire duration of our meal. I ordered 4 of them. Went to pay and they were making them at the end. Fine. The owner brings over 3 drinks only, and then tells us he ran out of boba, but I still paid for 4. He wanted to give us a cash refund for the drink but I just gave it back to him as a tip. They should be a bit more attentive to the orders. As far as the washrooms, they are in horrendous condition. Filthy and disgusting. So if you have to go mid-meal, you may lose your appetite. Clean the washrooms! Its gross and a real turn off for customers. Anyways like I said, the food is excellent but they really need to hire more staff and clean the place a bit more, especially the filthy washrooms.

Great food. Restaurant has no signs near entrance to say No Credit Cards. I was lucky to have my debit with me. Please post more signs so people know. There is one at the cash. Amazing soup!

Absolutely delicious fresh food

Food is good, I ve been here several times but there s no service at all for our visit every single time. The male owner made us feel we are not welcomed or we owe him money. For the last visit, he served us but did not say anything from we came till we left, even when we say thank you very much nicely. I m now wondering why I was still here for the past 3 years, probably not going to come back again. Very very disappointed.

By no means is this a gourmet experience but, in the same breath, you count on good food at a great price if you visit. I personally recommend the rare beef pho. The portion sizes are also great and I always leave full.

Been coming here since my son was 4 months old. Hes now turning 12. Great service and great food. Not sure about other reviews we read here about sharing food, we have always ordered a dish and share with the kids without hassle. Till now we still share some food. Great place to have a good meal.

Best Pho around town hands down just does the trick on a cold day! Not only the service is great been going here for years where they leave you to enjoy your meal and you place your own orders and pay at the counter when done. Honestly you just know its great customer service when the server tells you that you have the wrong order its this order. All these negative reviews or racist comments is so farfetchd and those people need to go elsewhere dont ruin a business by giving such unneeded nonsense and leave the business for its own good of being open and feeding the community its own food!

Very casual atmosphere, with nice, bright lights. Do not come here If youre expecting a dimly lit romantic candle light dinner. Youll hear the staff yelling in Vietnamese back and forth, which gives it an authentic Vietnamese experience. Highly recommend the raw beef XL pho bowl.

We came in for Pho feeling very excited as we hadnt had it in a while. It has been one my girlfriend and Is favourite meals for dates since university and we missed our favourite spot from back then. We decided to try this place to scratch the itch. What we got here was excellent food, friendly staff, quick service, and fair prices. Couldnt ask for more! Will definitely be coming back again in the future! Update Feb 17, 2023. Same great pho as always! Fair price. Great service despite how busy it was. this viet restaurant is SO good

When you venture this far East of Toronto, options for good Vietnamese food starts to run thin but this joint does a great job of providing delicious fare at a reasonable price point. The pork chop was wonderfully seasoned, juicy and a perfect pairing with the rice, pork skin and egg cake. The pho broth was actually very good, not heavy in salt, aromatic. The servers were nice and responsive. We were very glad we found this spot after our usual place in Ajax closed up shop. Well definitely come back.

Great place for Pho in Oshawa. I would say their broth was a little cold, but other than that, their menu options, and service is amazing.

Overall, they were quick and very friendly. Food was great and very well priced.

manager is so inconsiderate. my one year old son fell asleep and we were requesting to be in a bench seat so i can lay him down. the manager declined the request and told me i should hold the sleeping baby while im eating. on a different occassion, they also served my wife once a fried rice with a dead fly in it.

Love the Pho, but it is too EXPENSIVE I usually order Large Rare Beef and brisket pho. Take out, and after taxes it ends up $17dollars! Like....?? I know there is inflation. But, come on. Who pays 17 dollars for what is supposed to be the poor mans food? About 5 to 6 years ago, i would pay for the same type of Pho, but for 12dollars after taxes.

This is very disappointing. I always order noodle soup from this place and dine in. I was with my sister-in-law and our two daughters my sister-in-law just wanted to order fresh rolls and I wanted to order soup and I would share it with my three year old who cannot finish a bowl on her own. The lady that was working, looked at our order and said you guys cannot share it. You need to order more food. I looked at her and disbelief for her, telling what I can, and cannot order at the restaurant. I advised her my sister-in-law is having the fresh rolls and I m having the soup and she looked at me with disgust. I walked out. I cannot believe the service. Horrible!!!!

This place is so good

The pho broth taste good. The portion is okay. Ordered the special pho and got only 2 meatballs and two tiny pieces of tendon. The parking lot smells so bad. The trash smell was really bad. I would have given more stars if the meat portion is better and the parking lot didn t smell so bad.

Very authentic food.

The food was decent but I have never had such bad service in my life. When the food came I asked for an extra plate. The waiter told me they dont give extra plates or bowls.This is his bosses rules and that he would not serve me if I needed an extra plate. After taking it in that I have never in 21 years of living here been told I cannot have an extra plate for the food I am paying for he told me different restaurants have different rules. We charge 5$ for a EMPTY plate or bowl. . With that I just walked away as you realize that common sense isnt so common. Some people should just not be in the service industry.

The food was good. My kids had Pho for the 1st time and enjoyed it. The place is very spacious. Service could be improved. We were waiting for the waiters to take the order for a while, and later, they said we had to write down on a paper. And we had to go to the counter to ask for water. However, it was a good experience.

Do not come to this store to consume, order 2 extra large of special beef soup , and then give us 2 large , give the wrong size, without telling us in advance. Wait for the guest to find out and admit it, not even an apology. Dont advise anyone to come.

Used to be good before the fire. Upon reopening, portions are smaller but prices have gone up (understandable, inflation). However, different sizes of pho does not mean you get more noodles meat etc. Its the same portion of everything, in a slightly bigger bowl with more broth. Prior to fire, I had rated it a 4 star, unfortunately now because of the portions. I would have to give it a 2 star. Forgot to mention the last time I went, I ordered the grilled chicken, and it half of it was raw.

The restaurant is packed with guest, but its very quiet ... I guess, everyone loves to sip the soup and eat their food. Love going in here for quality food. Winter is coming, so for sure, this restaurant will be very busy.

Great pho, big place, fast service

Had tried this place in 2020 when it reopened after the pandemic which was not too good. However, eating there the other day, noticed much improvement and genuine Pho flavour. Other items like spring rolls looked good too. Great to have a nice Pho resturant downtown.

Lovely restraunt for a quick bite. Two things stand out the most about the staff was very friendly and there are so many options! All dishes were between 15 and 25 $. I had enough food for two meals! There are a fair number of vegetarian dishes as well. I dont eat red meat and still had many options to consider! Would recommend this place as its well well priced, yummy food!

Best pho in Oshawa

This place was really good and the staff was nice. It was a pretty basic experience nothing too special. The tables had all utilities and spoons on the table so I m not too sure how sanitary the at is but all good. The menu is very chaotic but we figured it out. The prices are all really cheap and you get a lot for what you pay.

Food was delicious and would certainly go again based on this alone. The service wasnt great. They dont offer water and we had to get up to get our server as they never came back to the table after dropping off the food. Knowing that the service isnt great certainly helps with standards of expectation. The food was extremely flavorful and didnt leave you feeling heavy afterwards!

The broth is good, portions are great, people are warm and friendly. I m happy I have a great pho place near me so I don t have to travel all the way to the city for it. :)

The food was fine, but the waiter had the flu and was wearing a mask, unfortunately a mask doesn t prevent his hands from contaminating everything he touched. My wife and I have both become sick, starting two days after eating here.

Shout out to the chef! My daughter likes the bbq pork so much! Every time she eats a lot! She is a very picky eater. We have tried many different restaurants. Here is our final stop. She likes to write on the order notes rather than other crayon color sheet. The service here is so friendly and funny sometimes. We also tried other main dishes and never get wrong. Will definitely come back on regular basis.
