casual comfort Asian fusion with indoor foodtruck experience
I really wanted to love this restaurant. It had many vegetarian and vegan options available, which is what I was looking for, but it just didn’t deliver on flavour. Nothing tasted good. I ordered the salt and pepper tofu. It had neither salt nor pepper in any discernible quantity. It was such a weird, dry, chewy texture, and the sugary sauce on top was not good and unnecessary. Every other salt and pepper tofu I’ve ordered had had fluffy, puffed tofu that’s crispy and salty. This was none of those things. I also ordered the Venetian hot and sour soup. Again - the taste just wasn’t there. It wasn’t hot and it wasn’t sour. It was such a flat taste. And finally, the main course - the basil tofu bowl. No real basil flavour and quite tasteless. I was so disappointed in the whole thing. I rarely ever eat out and when I do it’s a treat, so being disappointed like this was, well, disappointing.
No more food truck but the spirit lives on! Angry Dragonz used to be a food truck, making delicious skewers and quick Asian dishes like Pad Thai and Shanghai noodles. Now they opened a cute little restaurant offering the same food and more options! The atmosphere is casual and relaxed, although busy, the staff were very friendly and surprisingly quick to serve our dishes. The options are a lot more expensive than what I remembered, but the quality of dishes did not disappoint, still super tasty. I ordered my usual Dragon bowl and my friend ordered Pad Thai, the portions are huge, neither of us could finish our meal. Just one small suggestion, I wish they could offer just the skewers from before, with a side order of the egg rolls, that used to be my favourite meal! Highly recommend!
The pad Thai this restaurant used to make made me stop eating pad Thai anywhere else. The original location was on my way home and it was easy to give to temptation and pop by for takeout. I usually only give five stars to restaurants and places that are actually five stars, not day to day places), so four stars would've been the maximum. The reason why I'm giving less than four stars is that the quality of the food has gone down. The one dish that I eat has way less flavour, meaning they aren't using the same amounts if sauce as before. I decided to ask them for some extra sauce when I placed the takeout order today. I assumed it would be done and didn't think of checking until I opened to eat it. When I called to ask why I wasn't given the sauce. I was told that it was too expensive. I'm already a paying customer who come out of her way to get your food because you guys normally make it well. The least that could've been done would've been to be told at the time that I placed the order that there would be an extra charge. That would not have been ideal, but it would've been better than being disappointed after the money that I paid and the tip that I gave for no reason. The location itself is clean and spacious. The staff is polite. Those are the reasons for the stars in atmosphere and service. I would be lying if I gave one star for the food, but it's still not flavourful like before. It's edible and someone else took the time to make it. Please don't upset your regular customers. You can't be stingy when you own a restaurant. Thank you.
I'll start by saying the restaurant was freezing, and the service leaves much to be desired. The photo of the white container is not very clear, but my meal included the chef's hair and lint from what seems to be a kitchen sponge (green). If I hadn't found that, I wouldn't have left the review. However, the taste of the food was truly disappointing; the only decent part was the fried wontons. Attached are photos of what we consumed and the bill.
Needed a quick meal as I have a busy day, and they did not disappoint. Ordered on Door Dash and it arrived in 23 minutes! The beef skewers had decent kick and were very tasty. The egg rolls were great, and not small. Next time I would only order two. Overall great first experience and am looking forward to dinning at the restaurant itself in January.
Purchased the egg rolls, dragonz bowl with lamb, chicken and beef, and Korean beef tacos. It was all very delicious and filling. Atmosphere was very nice. servers were very helpful and kind. the only thing I did not like was the wooden cutlery and the compostable / take out plates / containers. although, i do understand the importance of environmental initiatives. Would recommend and will come again.
Hands down one of the best restaurants in all of Ottawa! We ordered in from Angry Dragonz quite a bit before actually going into the restaurant so we knew the food was amazing but we’re pleasantly surprised by the vibe of the actual restaurant! Great staff, wonderful service, and amazing food. Definitely check out their panang bowl, tacos, and their cauliflower bites!
Loved our experience! Food & service was great 😊 We came during the snow storm before Christmas Eve and were sooooo happy to that they were open! We were immediately greeted by our friendly server. Food was sooo good! I definitely recommend the firecracker wontons & mixed skewers. Kitchen was very accommodating as I had asked for crispy chicken substitute on the Pineapple chicken. My only piece of criticism was I found there could have been a bit more sauce on both dishes (Pineapple Chicken & Szechuan Beef); Apart from that everything was amazing! Will definitely go back soon! 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻
Ordered bulgogi beef bowl and general Tso chicken bowl and spicy wonton starter. Both bowls were bland and soggy. Crispy wonton was amazing, but will not be ordering again.
Extremely delicious. Really fresh and tasty. I wil dream about this place!
Really great food, never had this kind of food before. Absolutely loved it
My first experience eating there was great. It was like a month ago. Delicious food. However, I went there again and my second experience wasn t good. Good service but my order was bad. I ordered a Cantonese chown main and the noddles and vegetable were very raw. That was Unfortunate because the service is always good.
Dietary restrictions: Yes theres options for dietary restrictions Kid-friendliness: Yes Wheelchair accessibility: No
Ordered general Tao chicken with no peanuts, confirmed in person that there would be no peanuts. Had a reaction when I started eating and had to use EpiPen. Absolutely unacceptable My tolerance is up to 10 peanuts until I have a reaction of this type and I had it with this food. So ridiculously unsafe and sloppy
One of my fav go to restaurants in Ottawa. There s so many delicious things on their menu, my favs are the egg rolls, skewers, pad Thai and fried rice. It s comforting and delicious and they even have vegan options too. Definitely a must try if you want delicious food!
The Thai Iced tea was Delish and so were the rice wraps.!! The Pad Thai was quite good too, but I agree with a customer who posted before me, it could use a little more sauce. Was a bit dry. The PHO was very disappointing, we took it to-go thinking it might taste better later. The cardboard soup spoon fell apart half way into eating the soup. Not nice. The young server/lady with cute hair was very pleasant and kind. Thank you!! To the young man who handed me the 2 menus on our way to the back patio, I suggest that when an older 65+ woman comes with a rolling laptop bag and a backpack type purse, please take 10 seconds to bring the menus to the table. I was taken aback that you just handed me the menus? I shouldnt have to point out that I already had my 2 hands very full. Nice location, nice ambiance, could use more attention and focus on customer service and not be cheap with the sauces in the dishes.
Take-out order of 2 x egg rolls, pad thai and the dragonz bowl. Egg rolls were crisp and tasty, but the two mains were just meh maybe monochromatic in flavour and just lacking some pop or freshness. Nail in the coffin was asked for 2 x chopsticks as part of the order, but received no utensils at all. Don t think we ll be back.
Truly terrible take-out. Dry and lacking in flavour. Dishes were mostly rice with very little chicken or tofu. Poor value. Angry customerz
Terrible take out/delivery, the only good thing was the egg roll. The general tso was so overcooked you could barely bite through the batter, there was no sauce on the pieces of fried chicken, only on the soggy cabbage and sprouts. The chicken pieces were 95% batter, one literally had no chicken in it at all. The crispy beef smelled and tasted like burnt oil and plastic. I had about 5 small pieces of beef in my dish, terrible portion sizing. DO NOT ORDER from this location, it is consistently terrible. I will never suggest angry dragonz to anyone again until they fix the major food issues they are having. Disgusting meal for 50$.
Meh.
I wouldnt recommend the Chinese options. Nothing particularly special or complex about the flavours. Same quality can be made at home.
Good noodles
WORST FOOD IN OTTAEA I ordered a general Tao chicken. It was so salty I feel like eating pure salt and it also taste like medicine
Have had the Pad Thai a couple times in the last few weeks (takeout). It is great!!! What else can I say! Great!
I used to love this place but idk. The food is good but I got takeout and this cost 40$ and they forgot the egg roll I paid for :(
I have mixed feelings about my experience eating here. While the dish I got wasn t amazing (Lemon Chicken) it was still okay and my friends thoroughly enjoyed their food. I heard their Panang bowl and Pad Thai are really good. Service was amazing! Our water cups were always full, our food arrived quickly, and staff was really friendly. We sat there for a couple hours just chatting. A major flaw for me was that even though we were dining in EVERYTHING came in disposable packaging. We drank water out of plastic cups, cutlery was single use cutlery, food arrived in cardboard packaging. Angry Dragonz if you re reading this please invest in at least a few eat in dishes. TLDR/ would eat there again but only for takeout and would do more research on the recommended dishes.
I ordered Angry Dragonz catering for an Asian Heritage Month event for work. They were extremely accommodating and helpful. The food was a huge hit and great prices for what you get. 100% recommended! Thank you!
So, picture this: its April 1st, and Im feeling pretty excited about my UberEats order from Angry Dragonz (Kent). Ive been a regular at both of their locations for ages, and Ive always enjoyed their food. But boy, did that excitement quickly turn into disappointment. When my order arrived, I eagerly dug in, only to find that some of the chicken balls were totally raw in the center. Im talking raw batter and all. I mean, seriously? Thats not what I signed up for. Now, Im no stranger to a dining mishap, but this was on a whole other level. I couldnt believe that a place I trusted could mess up this bad. So, I did what any rational person would do I reached out to UberEats for a refund. But heres where things get even more frustrating. While UberEats gave me a partial refund for the chicken disaster, Angry Dragonz didnt seem to care much. I mean, they acknowledged the problem, but that was about it. No refund for the rest of my order, no apology just a casual we told the kitchen kind of response. Honestly, its pretty disappointing. I get that UberEats handles the money, but come on, Angry Dragonz, step up your game. If you were really serious about fixing this mess, youd do more than just pass the buck. And let me tell you, after biting into raw chicken, you really arent in the mood to eat anything else. But even if I were, Id think twice before ordering from Angry Dragonz again. Theyve got some serious making up to do, and Im not sure if Im willing to give them another chance. Heres hoping they can turn things around and get back to serving up food thats actually edible
Just dropped in today with friends, and we had a blast. The food are great, all ready before we knew it, indoor was cozy and friendly staff. Definitely recommend dining here! Everything overall was a great first time experience for us! Food
Food was good for the price, great staff, and clean inside the restaurant. Would definitely recommend
Take out order of a dragonz bowl, pad Thai, an egg roll, Thai milk tea, Viet coffee. All dishes are incredible 5/5 except for the pad Thai. Love the skewers. They are very well marinated and cooked. The pad Thai was very disappointing especially when it s their featured item. I don t understand ketchup in pad Thai.
Fresh, delicious, and fast. Extra stars for the lemon chicken
delicious and original! Friendly service and fast service!
Loved the egg rolls and tamarind chicken skewers.
Can Fast food really taste this good? Yes. Were there earlier today and had the Tom kha soup and the dragonz rice bowl. The server was attentive and friendly, the food was phenomenal and the restaurant was very clean. The food came very quickly, and was phenomenal.
It was take out. I got the dragonz fried rice and singapore noodles. It was ok taste wise, had to add some spice to it myself. The portions were average for 15 dollars per dish. I saw this place on reddit had try it for myself but I don t think i would come back.
Wow! explosive flavourful taste from each bite.
Just had the most AMAZING Espresso Martini wow it is so incredibly full bodied and not overly sweet or creamy. Just the perfect balance of heaven in my mouth Angry Dragonz does it again - incredible job you guys. Thank you for always providing the best in food, atmosphere and excellence. BRAVO
My experience felt more like a disappointingly tasting scam. Ive wrote a very generous and nice review of their other restaurant but what a mess this time around. The attached picture doesnt even do justice the amount I received for 15$ The box was not even a 1/4 of the way full and the quality of the meat was extremely tough. The chicken balls were 99% dough and 1% chicken. The bbq pork wraps had shards of extremely dry hard pork. The only somewhat satisfying item was the Singapore noodles which lacked flavor but were still alright. Will not be coming back unfortunately.
I have never had better egg rolls. Also the portions seemed small coming out of the bag but were compact - the portions when we put them on a plate were HUGE. Fantastic food!!! Im so happy we discovered this restaurant. Vegetarian options: The vegetarian pad Thai was fantastic. As was everything.
Great food and super friendly staff!
Hearty and tasty pad Thai
Food was ok, nothing crazy. More like an asian fast food restaurant than a cozy place. Lot of people ordered for take out. Its actually one of the first thing they ask you when you step inside. Service was fast and effective, to be expected during lunch hours. Three reasons I did not give a full 5 stars : Atmosphere was a bit impersonal, the food ordered was not really balanced (excessive taste of lemon) and the glass of water had some weird stuff floating in it.
It had the bulgogi beef rice bowl and egg roll takeout. It was ok. The egg roll was actually better then the rice bowl which I got because of other reviews I ve had bulgogi beef many times and this one was just ok. I could of done it better myself really. Maybe try something different.
The food was superb. Possibly the best veggie spring roll Ive ever had. Generous portions, prompt, cheerful service.
This restaurant is very much an indoor food truck experience. The food is great and they provide a unique twist on takeout Asian cuisine. It s far from a fine dining experience but is great in terms of fast delicious takeout.
It s perfect
Wow, this place has amazing food! Have never been disappointed when ordering from here. The staff are lovely every time I order take out. Quick turn around for when you order that way. Basil chicken is a good choice, and the dragon rice is a meal on its own. Definitely a return customer. Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian options available. Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free options available.
Everything on their menu is really good, but they have hands down the beat egg rolls in Ottawa.
All I can say is check the bag BEFORE leaving. Second time the order was missing an item Great food. Rotten attention. Very disappointed.
The measure of a place is how they handle customers and occasional screw ups. Angry Dragonz on Kent match their excellent food with exceptional customer service. Even during crazy buzy rush times an order mix up was resolved with gratitude. Terrific.
Quick and efficient service but food wise it wasnt my fav, too much rice and not enough veggies/meat. Also no space to dine in.
Wanted to try this since they were a food truck! So glad I did! Staff is incredibly friendly and the food was tasty.
I first tasted Angry Dragonz at the office when the social committee had them cater an event. I have used them for catering many times over at the office and they are absolutely fabulous! The service is impeccable and flexible and they will bend over backwards to feed you on time. And the food...ooooh the food is heavenly! The tastiest morsel is the egg roll but their General Tao and Pad Thai is also top notch! I have not eaten anything I dont like from Angry Dragonz, ever. There are so many vegan and vegetarian choices as well. You will never regret trying this venue. Downtown its located where the old Sum Tum Thai used to be. I say, really good replacement for this restaurant. Vegetarian options: The lunch I ordered had 3 people who ate only halal meat so the vegetarian options were the only way to go. I also brought some leftovers to a big meat eater and he wasnt even bothered that there was not meat because it was packed with flavour and filling ingredients. Dietary restrictions: a lot of vegan and vegetarian options, however there is nothing halal offered (yet) lol
THEE BEST RESTAURANT IN OTTAWA AND SURROUNDING AREA THAT I HAVE EVER EATING FROM. I HAD THE MEAT LOVERS FRIED RICE. SINGAPORE NOODLES AND EGGROLLS. THE CANTONESE CHOWMEIN IS EXCELLENT AS WELL. AND SPRINGROLLS TO. VERY FRIENDLY N NICE PEOPLE
The food was delicious! We loved that there were so many vegetarian options to choose from. Will come here again on our next trip to Ottawa!
Wanted to try this place tonight. Too bad the front entrance had steps and the patio was fully surrounded by gravel, potted plants and poles making it completely inaccessible to me. #AODA?
Ordered the Shanghai noodles - it was fast, piping hot and a generous portion size.
The service is impressively fast. The patio is cute and cozy. Reasonably priced.
Honestly, super disappointing. I m not sure if it was a one off, because it seems like others love this spot, but our food tasted like a cup of vinegar was poured on top and the quality was just really subpar.
Really bubbly and friendly lady taking the orders. The food is also amazing. We were just visiting Ottawa from Toronto but will definitely eat here again if we come back.
Crispy spring rolls and firecracker wontons, yum! Our waitress was awesome. The bowls are filling, especially the general Tsaos.
I could eat 13 of their egg rolls
Didn t go for a few years and gave it a try today I found it expensive for the portion I received. Lots of rice and only a few pieces of chicken in their General Tao Chicken. Good place is you like Canadian style asian food. Good service and courteous staff, and fresh ingredients, but just not my type of asian food
Best egg rolls ever! Tasty, savory and crispy. Rice bowls, tacos and noodle dishes. Service was nice, fast and respectful. Prices are very reasonable.
Got pad thai from here during a local furry convention and it was middle of the road, but good! The portion was huge with a great level of spice and it satisfied my itch for pad thai with leftovers. The boxes are maybe a little too eco friendly in that they can barely contain the enormous portion and get messy quick. That said, being in a hotel room at the time, I appreciated being able to fit my leftovers in the fridge, and have less waste at the end of the day. What is really exceptional is that you can order their t-shirt 2 for 1 through delivery apps. And boy, is the shirt worth it. 10/10 recommend getting a Hunger Slay shirt. Im on the road again and dont have a picture with me of the shirt but just trust.
Im not a religious man but oh sweet baby jesus the pad Thai that I just ate from Angry Dragonz has me questioning everything. Surely this pad Thai was carefully crafted by some higher power right? I feel like a new man. I am rejuvenated. Hyperbole aside, this was actually one of the best pad thais I ve had in Ottawa. The staff are very kind and welcoming and the prices are more than fair. Just like Arnold Schwarzenegger says in The Terminator I ll be back.
Very nice place, the food was super tasty and it had a big menu with different options. The service and staff was super friendly and even gave us tips around the city. We waited a maximum of 10 minutes for our food (4 Persons). Every dish was delicious and our stomach was full by the end :) must visit when in Ottawa!
This is a tough one, and one I hope to update... A lot of people really like this place and from chatting with them a bit myself, and reading about their story/brand, I would count myself as a fan of their approach to fusion generally speaking. At the end of the day though, the food doesnt compare well for me as someone used to eating more authentic options. Ive tried food there a few times (plus HK milk tea, which I love seeing on menus) and I just havent liked anything. I fully believe if you like the canadian-chinese fusion sort of flavor profile you will enjoy it though, and many locals do. Again, they seem like a cool family operation that is reinventing itself and Im there for all of that -- I just have not found anyting on their menu I like yet. For this reason Ill probably try perdiodically again, and Im looking forward to their rumoured bar project. If you are open minded give them a go.
A delicious place with great service. Have eaten there (and take out) several times and they never disappoint. The owner (or manager) is very friendly and always willing to help. Also love that they adjusted their hours for a week to accommodate staffs vacation - these days that s rare. Way to take care of your people! Vegetarian options: Many options for vegetarians are available
Had the BEST time here. The food was unreal and the person working was so lovely and kind. They said they were understaffed that night too, which means they deserve EXTRA credit for being so kind and for having such amazing food!!!! New favourite restaurant!!!!
The food is amazing!
Asian-fusion menu. Got the Dragonz Bowl with chicken, beef, and lamb skewers. The slaw was really good and the portions generous. The vegetarian spring roll is made with taro - large size and deep fried just right. Main feedback is preference to have food served on dishes and use actual cutlery rather than eat from a paper based take out container and disposable cutlery. Its not a food truck, but a restaurant. Vegetarian options: Yes - confirm with server Dietary restrictions: Speak with server to confirm Parking: Mix of street and paid parking in the downtown area. Kid-friendliness: Yes
The best tofu I ve ever had. And the service was also wonderful! Great to have a spot for me (vegan) and my friends (one celiac and one an egg roll enthusiast) that we all love.
Delicious! Delicious! Delicious! We enjoyed super tasty and satisfying General Tao Chicken, Spicy Honey Garlic Pork (not very spicy at all but still scrumptious) and Panang Chicken (and Tofu) on the lovely small street-side patio offering a view of the fabulous steeple on the church across the street. Meals are served, after a pleasingly short prep time, in brown cardboard takeout boxes with bamboo utensils and cardboard cups. Fun and practical for taking home leftovers as the portions are generous and filling. Fusion food can be hit or miss: this was definitely a big hit with my hubby, our teen and me. So good! Also LGBTQ+ friendly. Awesome all around! Vegetarian options: Lots of vegan and vegetarian options. Dietary restrictions: Several gluten free options. Parking: Free street parking as of 5:30pm. We had no problems finding parking in the same block on Nepean at 5:00pm on a Friday.
Ordered for take out. Food came really fast and was good. Loved the wonton soup
Ordered take out for the first time. I got the general Taos chicken and Korean beef tacos. Both were super good and fresh. Friendly customer service as well.
I had been curious about this place since seeing my manager enjoying some crispy beef from there. I had the wonton soup and open-ended spring roll. The soup was amazing for a cold day and I will be back to try other items from the menu! Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free options available. Allergens appear to be clearly marked. Cant speak to other food avoidances/intolderances.
Ordered take out as we had moved to the neighbourhood. Rice was a glutinous mess with no discernable pieces and general Tso was soggy with cheap vegetables.
Angry Dragonz was pretty decent, other than the staff member who randomly started cleaning while I was dining it. Im not sure why they couldnt wait until I was gone (I was the only customer), or why they were cleaning in the middle of the day. The food is good, although the place is somewhat small so large groups (8+) might have trouble fitting everyone in.
Always so friendly and huge portions!
Been craving their crispy beef and famous egg rolls for months, and finally got my hands on them today during their soft opening! Staff are extremely friendly and welcoming, can t wait to go again!
YUM! Dropped by for some take out for the second time and I must say Im very impressed overall. You really get your bang for your buck, not only super tasty and delicious, the portions are big, great value and affordable. Chicken Pad Thai was hearty, flavourful and fresh with just the right amount of sauce to balance the dish out. Egg rolls had a nice golden color to it = crispy goodness, perfectly seasoned and they dont hold back on the filling. Staff was very knowledgeable and friendly and had made other recommendations to try for my next visit. I love that they have a diverse menu, its like a taste of all the restaurants in Chinatown but better, its in one location. Easy and convenient, to satisfy all my cravings. Highly recommend. :)
I m a huge Chinese food fan, I ve eaten at pretty much every place downtown. Had Angry Dragonz for the first time and I ve gotta say, I am incredibly impressed. Prices are reasonable and portions are really great. The flavours are outstanding with very friendly staff and easy to use website. This will absolutely become my new go to Chinese spot!
Seriously, the best fusion food I have ever eaten. I honestly wish I would have taken pictures, but I ate everything way too fast I just couldn t stop. Do yourself a favor, and go out of your way to eat here. You will thank me later. -Chris from Indiana
I had take out here the other night - the food was amazing and the staff very kind. I highly recommend you try this place. The restaurant is a great addition to this neighbourhood.
Excellent, simply the best.
My fav new asian restaurant! Super friendly staff, and the portion sizes are really generous :) Delicious, and will be ordering again soon!
I ordered the Pad Thai and Tom Kha soup from Angry Dragons on Kent and I m beyond satisfied ! I m usually very picky with pad thai, because I love the sauce in the pad Thai. But Angry Dragons DID NOT disappoint! I was actually super impressed ! And the Tom Kha was exactly how I imagine it ! It was delicious ! Not only was the food good but the staff was very welcoming and friendly ! They were very busy when I came into pick up my order and despite being downtown and affected by things that were happening .They still greeted us with a smile! I will come back again and definitely will recommend this to my friends ! Thank you again for being open during unprecedented times . We really appreciate it ! P.S the food was soo good I ate it before I had the chance to take a picture
Love their food and generous portions. So thankful they now have a downtown location thats easy and convenient to find. This place will always be on my shortlist of takeaway dinner nights.
So happy to finally try the new location! Omg the food was so good and I was so excited to eat it that we forgot to take photos (I got one photo when I remembered). I ordered the Dragon bowl (rice bowl with three meat skewers) and my husband ordered general tao s. We also had their regular and vegetarian spring rolls. Everything tasted so fresh and amazing - and portion sizes are excellent. We were very full. Definitely a perfect lunch spot for residents and officer workers downtown but also worth the trip if you re out of town! Phenomenal service and food- makes it super easy to support local in Ottawa. recommend.
First time at this new location, had only had the food truck before. It was as amazing as ever! Beef bulgogi
Very tasty and fresh, fulfilling portion and nice staff.. great dining casual experience for dining alone or for quick bite.
Was so happy when Angry Dragonz opened. Ordered the Pad Thai and Hot & Sour soup. Pad Thai was delicious. Soup was not to my liking. Menu describes it as thick but I did not expect it to be so thick. Overall a good experience. I will order from them again. I recommend them to all. May 18,2022. Went back and ate in-house on their patio. Ordered the chicken skewers and Asian slaw. Chicken was delicious as was the slaw. Glad I went back.
Great good, loved thebegg rolls and the crispy beef... They just need better patio chairs that are more comfy....
Super service and delicious food!
Delicious food and very friendly and accommodating staff. The egg rolls are the best I ve ever had!
Best Asian fusion food in town!!! Their egg rolls are THE best that I ever had and I highly suggest their Panang Bowl. The staff is really friendly and they have a cute little patio. GO EAT THERE :)
Finally got to try the downtown location, had egg rolls and chicken Panang bowl, both were delicious! Pleasant experience ordering on the phone and friendly staff at order pick up!
Get metal cutlery!
Wow. Amazing flavours! The menu is quite extensive with lots of vegetarian and gluten free options. The portions are very generous. The food is ready quickly. The service is super friendly and helpful. And, again, it tastes amazing! Highly recommended.
The Vietnamese coffee was made with extremely weak (Tims?) drip coffee instead of the traditional espresso. So that wasnt a good start. The meat in the rice bowl dishes seemed a bit overcooked and dry. The chicken Panang was supposed to come with a spicy red coconut sauce: it came with no sauce. And I dont know why so many reviewers praise their generous portions... That was not my experience at all. Perhaps I picked a bad day... But Ill never know. Live and learn.
Absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced. Food came quickly and was very filling.
The service here was excellent. The staff were quick and very friendly. The only reason the restaurant gets 4 stars instead of 5 is because of mislabelling on the menu. Some of the dishes that are labelled vegetarian contain fish sauce. Fish sauce is not vegetarian and this could be quite dangerous for someone with a fish allergy. That said the staff were very knowledgeable about the menu and were able to tell me what was in each dish. I recommend the owner consider either removing the fish sauce from the vegetarian dishes or changing the menu to indicate that these dishes are not vegetarian.
Good food and great service.
This was the best dinner of our few days in Ottawa. We went because of the reviews, and were not disappointed. The patio IS super cute, the staff was very helpful and attentive, and the the food was excellent. The bulgogi beef tacos might be the best thing I ve had in a year or more. The chicken skewers were worthy of a yakitori bar in Tokyo. Pad Thai (pictured) had a nice hint of tamarind, but was perfectly balanced. Overall, highly recommended! (Please open a location in Toronto!)
Friendly staff, great food
Great food!
The menu is HUGE compared to the old food truck. Whether that is good or bad I do not know, but I tried the Singapore noodles and they were very good. And still the best egg rolls
Disrespectful workers told u to wait 5 min and order need 20 minutes to be done If u complain about that they give u dislike on your uber driver account 5 restaurant like this one u will lose your account and will u get fired
Staff were extremely friendly and considerate. Food was absolutely delicious (and came out out quickly and in sizeable portions). Also a very charming location. We sat on the patio and watched the sunset. Staff also attentive to allergies. Overall a great experience, definitely coming back.
Really tasty food and friendly staff. We had the beef tacos and chicken pad thai and both were fresh and tasty. We got it to go and ate in the park, and even after 20+ minutes, the food was still very hot. Highly recommended.
Great food and fantastic service
Fantastic Asian fusion menu. Cozy little place with outdoor seating in the warmer weather. Service is fantastic and the food is even better. All the food is served on biodegradable take out containers.
Wonderfully decored space with both indoor and patio seating options. The staff are attentive and friendly. The food comes out hot and fresh. I recommend the rice wraps, egg rolls, and skewers with an ice cold Singha beer to wash it all down. I will definitely return to try their other offerings.
Cheerful courteous service. Fabulous fresh and tasty food. Do yourself a favour and try this gem.
We ordered the General Tao Tofu, the Bulgogi Tofu and Tofu tacos and were BLOWN AWAY by how good they were. So so so delicious. But the best part about our meal was the incredible service. So welcoming and wonderful!! Thank you!! We ll be back soon.
Great food and the owner was really friendly. Definitely recommend.
The basil chicken is tasty, however the hot and sour soup is a disaster! Friendly staff.
Great food. Average portion size for the price. We ordered 2 bowls Bulgogi and Szechuan. Bulgogi bowl was over flowing, Szechuan bowl had half the rice and less beef. Good service. Nice location and patio. Just wished they used actual plates and cutlery. I know the resto started as a food truck but I think a sit down place could benefit from real plates and cutlery.
Love this place! The food is great and so is the staff. I felt special when I was asked how my mom was. She cannot come to the restaurant but I always bring her take out. I briefly mentioned my mom months ago and the manager remembered! It is not a fancy place indoors but it has a quaint small patio. Try the Wong Tong Soup my mom s favourite!
Hidden gem in my hood. Love this place and will be coming back again and again. Staff are amazing and portions are huge. Highly recommended. Egg rolls are yummy. Great to support local talent
Good food, convenient location.
I chose the signature Dragonz bowl with puffy tofu on a skewer. To say it was a dissapointment would be putting it mildly. Nowhere in the description of the meal was mentioned any extreme sweetness to alert me from ordering this meal. The deep fried puffy tofu on skewers was nothing special, but passable. You cannot ruin much by throwing stuff into a deep fryer. As for the rest, well... The restaurant calls itself Asian fusion, but the only thing they managed to fuse together was an unappetizing mix of canned cabbage (aka Asian slaw), rice and the typical off the shelf Thai sweet and sour sauce. The other ingredients described in the description of the dish such as cilantro, sesame, green onion and spicy mayo probably travelled to another dimension as I certainly did not notice them in my meal. This creation of the culinary art came served within the take out paper box and the signature green tea came delivered as a tea bag dipped in a paper cup. They charge you whole $16 dollars for this abomination and I can tell you that I could get a delicious meal for this price in a dozen of places in Ottawa Chinatown. I am baffled by the 4.7 star rating of this restaurant, perhaps the owner and the staff provided all 60+ ratings. Or perhaps they had some help from their Thai sweet and sour sauce provider. Maybe the business could dish this provider along with the disgustingly sweet sauce, buy some actual dishware and things might improve. To conclude, the only thing I find fitting is the name of the restaurant, as I certainly felt like an Angry Dragonz when leaving the place.
Ordered once, it was great. This time I ordered through skip the dish the Shanghai noodles. I couldnt finish it all and put it in the fridge. I went to eat them today and nearly every noodle has green spots forming on them, like they were expired. Which is gross considering it was in the fridge for only one night. Edit: store contacted me and is saying that the purple cabbage is the result for the green and purple stains showing up. They also want me to take down my post.
Honestly I can t recommend this place anymore. The past few experiences I ve had have been pretty bad. I ve had the lemon chicken the first time and that was great. Dragon bowl not so much. And pretty sure they forgot my Vietnamese coffee at one point so it took like 10-15 minutes to get. Wanted to support local instead of Starbucks but I guess this is the price you pay.
So happy that we found this restaurant! Delicious food and friendly service. Their egg roll is a must try, it s huge and just perfect. But I would prefer if they use normal dishes instead of paper ones.. but still, 5*
Vegetarian spring rolls are way too good.
Loved the place, the service and the food. Viet was awesome from the start, made me feel at home, suggested a great choice and checked on me several times. Will be back whenever Im in town!
This was amazing the food was great and the staff were super friendly. The egg rolls are a meal all on their own.
Loved the food here. Service is quick and friendly staff. They worked with us to substitute the meat and make the dish spicy. The ambience is good, it s a warm and cozy place and quite spacious. They have a big variety of dishes to choose from Chinese and Thai. Would definitely visit again!
Good food but pricey.
If you order online : STAY AWAY. So frustrating. Food is good but they mess up your order. I ordered there twice the same meal. A veggie/chicken/rice bowl. In the first order (I think about a week ago) there was just no chicken. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt so I ordered a second time, this time with EXTRA chicken to make sure I get some. Result? No rice and no chicken. Just a bowl of veggies. I mean... The first time I can get it. The second time is a pure joke from the kitchen. So disrespectful to just send that when it literally says the name of the order and extra chicken on the bill attached to the bag. Maybe if you go there in person its worth it cause you can actually request them to complete the order if theres an issue (what I received was actually good, thats why its so frustrating). For that reason, Im giving 2 and not 1 star.
Best restaurant in Ottawa. Great staff, great food, great prices. 10/10
