Jack's Hunt Club in Ottawa

Jacks is a chain and it shows. Everthing is ok but you wont fall off your chair in amazement of the food. They do have a great beer selection.

The food was fantastic. The staff where very friendly and the service was fast.

We decided to go with the holiday special. It was an 11 oz steak with shrimp crab and lobster sauce on it. It was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing.

The Jack Astors menu has several items that deserve a detailed review: LOBSTER & CRAB DIP A friend of mine introduced me to this appetiser, and ever since Ive always ordered it when there. Its Atlantic lobster and crab meat with cream cheese, sautéed mushrooms, peppers and onions, served next to nacho chips and pita triangles. This must be one of the best dips Ive ever had. Its creamy and rich, but not heavy ... they discovered the perfect combination of ingredients that flow together nicely, without one overpowering the others. Its also great that you can substitute the nacho chips with more pita, because this dip is best enjoyed with pita. CLASSIC POUTINE Their poutine is excellent because of the gravy, its exceptional. I also tried the truffle fries; they were good, but nothing special. ASIAGO CHICKEN BOW-TIES Im not a fan of pasta in general, but I would order this plate any time. The pasta itself is properly cooked, the creamy cheese sauce is delicious, and the semi-sundried tomatoes is a nice touch ... but the secret to this plate is the slightly burnt chicken that gives this plate its unique flavor. No suprise this plate is voted a staff favorite. Last but not least ... the TACOS Taste wise, and in terms of presentation, this plate is excellent. My only disappointment (and its a major one), the 3 tacos have to all be either chicken or fish ... you cant have a combination. I wanted to 2 chicken and the third as fish, just to try the fish, but the server said its not possible. Im not sure why they have that limitation when other restaurants allow you to mix and match your tacos. Anyway, I ended up having the chicken, in case the fish wasnt good ... but I guess well never know, would we! I recommend they change that rule and even introduce a beef option. Parking: Plenty of parking around, and a full lot indicates a busy restaurant.

So went to Jack s after work to get a wrap to eat on the way home as I didn t eat all day .. I wait 25 minutes for chicken wrap then when it comes out. I go in my car, open it up go to start eating it and it was like they just whipped it in the box I picked it up and it was everywhere. The bottom wasn t closed, then I realize that they made it with Breaded chicken when I specifically asked for grilled. So I ask for a manager, he comes and he offers to remake this for me. I said well how long is that gonna be, he said just 5 minutes, it actually takes longer to make breaded chicken, so it shouldn t be long at all. 15 minutes later, the hostess comes with my wrap, I didn t get offered anything for the inconvenience, Nor did the Manager take the time to come deliver my food his self and say sorry. It didn t seem that busy in there to me, To not be able to come back to a unsatisfied customer And just say sorry for the mess up we hope you enjoy this one. Very disappointed in management of this establishment. People make mistakes and stuff happens, but it s the way you handle it that makes all the difference.

This was a perfect place for our neurodivergent family. Mai was our server and she understood our needs. It s nice to eat in a place where the music is not too noisy so we can actually enjoy our family meal. It s definitely a place we would return to for another meal because everyone left full and happy. Kid-friendliness: Good for young families.

We came here as we were under the impression all Jack s were done up for Christmas, although it was it wasn t anything like seen online (I guess it varies on each location) so we were a bit bummed out on that. However we had a great waitress, our food was delicious and we still had a great time with ours kids.

Manny was super cool and related to us and our Christmas gathering. It s always great to have a server who knows customer service and his menu. Our server Chelsey was amazing . We were at the restaurant for a birthday for a group of 15. Chelsey took our drink orders within minutes of our arrival, there were a few of our members that were delayed but Chelsey was patient and kept checking-in . When our entire group was seated, she was attentive and knew the food menu very well for which made answering our questions very easy without delays. Throughout the night, she kept checking-in to see if we needed anything or wanted more drinks. Food was yummy and well plated, arrived in a timely manner and we were all served at the same time! Me and my buddies went out for a couple brews and wings the other night and were greeted with EXCELLENT service and SUPERB food. Guys had a great time, shoutout to our fantastic server Anton who was efficient and kind. Would recommend! Kid-friendliness: Made me feel like a kid again as me and my buddies were drawing up football plays with the crayons on the table, awesome.

Went for a pleasant family dinner with my wife and little boys. The kids LOVED the crayons on the table and so did I as it kept them entertained while I was able to catch up with the wife. Our server, Anton was outstanding with the kids and was very informative about the menu, as our little one has allergies he directed us through all our options. Big thanks to Anton and 100% would recommend this family restaurant!

Went out for a nice dinner with my girlfriend this weekend and I must say, Anton has amazing service. He was very funny and has the whitest smile Ive ever seen. Its an american style restaurant with certain variety of dishes, prices a bit above average, but cant complain about the quality and taste of food. No major complains over the service, but I have felt better attended in other restorants at the same level.

I had an absolutely fantastic experience at Jack Astors, thanks to the exceptional service provided by bartenders Amanda and Cam! From the moment I walked in, they greeted me with such warmth and energy that made me feel right at home. They were attentive, knowledgeable about the drink menu, and offered great recommendations based on my preferences. The cocktails they prepared were delicious, perfectly balanced, and served with a smile. They made sure I had everything I needed and even shared a few laughs, creating a fun and welcoming atmosphere. Its rare to find bartenders who truly elevate your experience, but Amanda and Cam definitely did just that. Highly recommend visiting when theyre working these two are a true asset to the team!

Overall I was happy with my visit at Jack Astors. The food came as advertised and was not disappointed with how it turned out. The various cocktails and drinks were also delightful. Lots of decorations and art inside to keep your eyes busy. Service was a little spotty, but super understandable as it was busy. Once the crowd thinned out we saw waitress a little more. Id go back if the opportunity came up. Good for adults and kids.

I dropped in for a bite and a pint for lunch. Aleks was welcoming and very attentive. I had the Bruschetta, which was delicious. It was a bit quiet as it was early afternoon, but the Christmas decorations were amazing and were a great touch.
