I was welcomed into this restaurant by a wonderful host who ushered me to my table. From here my server, Viggo, took over and served me and my girlfriend wonderfully. He was there to patiently answer any questions we had and took care of us like we were apart of his own family. I would highly recommend anyone to eat at this fine establishment and to try their fettuccine Alfredo.

Worst service I had this year, some of the plates were disgusting, and good luck cutting your steak with those knives even the plate they use is slippery, and above all this its very very expensive. The waitress serving us disapeared for almost 40min

We visited this restaurant for my friend s birthday, and the atmosphere was absolutely luxurious and mysterious I loved it! It s the perfect spot for a date or a girls night out. We ordered the Lavender Gnocchi with Shrimp, and it was delicious. The service was outstanding, and our server was incredibly polite and attentive. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I can t wait to come back!

Had a fabulous dinner there with friends! Everyone s meal was wonderful and desserts too. The 16/18 piece band was outstanding! Loved the big band sound. Made for a delightful night. The lavender dishes are unique and very well thought out.

Beautiful and easy to access restaurant in the ByWard. The staff was friendly, the food was delicious, and the drinks were to die for. Ambiance and music were lovely as well. My fav thing was being able to book a table online. Made it much easier to reserve + alter when we had someone drop out.

If you want to get food poisoning, this is the place to go. To make it even worse, we heard nearby a group of teenagers being manipulated into giving 18% tip by the waitress because apparently when its a big table, there s a 18% tip on the bill

Went on Saturday night with a girlfriend, super cute place, food was good too. The absolute best part though was our server. She said she was recently hired and it was only her second shift. Well, you couldnt tell that she was new. Shes was knowledgeable about the food, extremely attentive to our table and needs. She never let us run out of drinks. I brought my university aged daughter there for her birthday. Impressive atmosphere themed in lavender plants and colours. Waiter was a bit rushed but friendly and, ultimately, effective. Lovely place for tables is 12 or more and there were several large tables there. We were only 4 guests and dressed plainly enough but many of our fellow diners were decked out well. A little loud with the front garage style doors open and the music from the bar across the street but the weather was nice and it was still better with doors open. Prices were reasonable for the menu at hand and the food was beer good. Everything did have a dabble of lavender and, while good, I did not think it made the meal better but I knew it would be part of the meal and I did enjoy it. I do recommend this lovely restaurant.

Without a doubt Lavender is one of the best restaurants in downtown Ottawa. Their pastas are one of a kind and an absolute must-try. Also they have the tastiest desserts which they put a lot of effort in making them.

We didn t have our kids on a Friday night so my boyfriend took me out for a nice dinner. The service was slow but it was busy so we understood. We placed our order and waited while enjoying the live jazz band. My boyfriend s food came first. We thought it was odd that our meals didn t come out together. We flagged our waiter down to ask about my meal. He forgot to punch it in the system. My boyfriend was halfway done his meal at this point and we didn t want to wait another 30 minutes for them to make mine. Our waiter was not very apologetic. We will definitely not go back nor will we recommend this restaurant to anyone else.

The food and drinks are absolutely fantastic, especially the smoked salmon toast, but the absolute best part was the incredible, enthusiastic and generous service here. You can tell these people clearly care about their customers. Thank you so so much from all UOttawa students!!

This past Saturday I had the pleasure of hosting my best friends bridal shower at the beautiful Lavender Grill and Lounge. From start to finish, it was perfect. The first day that we went to scope out venues, the Lavender Grill stood out. We were immediately greeted upon entering the restaurant by such friendly staff. Even though we told them we wouldnt be staying long and were just checking out venues for a bridal shower, they were still so kind to us. They offered us a table and menus and allowed us to check the place out. We ended up ordering very pretty and tasty lavender-coloured drinks and the servers were so attentive, chatting with us and sharing their genuine excitement at the prospect of hosting our bridal shower. All of the staff there talked so highly of the restaurant and they seemed very proud to be working there. It felt almost like a family. Everyones genuine kindness and the beautiful decor made it an easy decision to choose the Lavender Grill to host our bridal shower. I think this speaks to the amazing general manager, Hano, who was so accommodating during my email interactions with him back and forth planning the shower. He was so professional and courteous and very helpful on the day of the event. I must also mention Yilmaz who welcomed us with open arms on the day of the event and never hesitated to offer his help during the night. Radia, our server for the event, was phenomenal. She was so so kind and helped make sure everything ran smoothly. Her bright smile and warm personality was so refreshing. I have to also thank the other staff that were there who were not responsible for our tables but who still offered to help us set up - everyone there is so unbelievably kind! We left the event feeling so elated and grateful to this wonderful establishment, who really go above and beyond with their customer service and treat you like family. I also cannot forget to mention that their food is AMAZINGLY delicious!!! We shared multiple appetizers and I had their filet mignon which was cooked perfectly how I like it. What more can you ask for in a restaurant?! Delicious food, delicious drinks, beautiful decor and atmosphere, exceptional staff - I am so glad I found this gem of a place and I already cant wait to go back!!

Not disappointed in the least. Kid-friendliness: Lots for kids to choose from. We had the chicken fingers OMG they were so good and any kid would love them!

Faithful to the lavender concept. The flowers dont match the flavor very well, but the food is still delicious!! The steak is a bit salty for Korean tastes, but its Canada~ If you order a salad on the side and eat it together, it tastes just right!!

We recently hosted a bachelorette/bridal shower for our friend at Lavender Grill and the experience was amazing! The staff and our server (Yilmaz) were so kind and attentive and helped us greatly throughout the night, which made the night for us so much more relaxed and special. Would highly recommend this place for anyone looking to host a special event (they have a semi private table at the back) or a place for a girls night out. Food was pretty tasty as well!

I was specifically looking for a new steak. I found Lavender online and went for the rib steak. Really really really good! Never thought I d revue a side of carrots lol but they were the best side carrots I ve ever had, not just some rando veg no one eats. I have to say that the service started out super generic and the waiters were switching up and forgot about us for a while but then this other server Marika (I m pretty sure I m remembering her name correctly) took over our table and truly she could serve anywhere she wants. Took the experience to the correct level. She was attentive, friendly, jovial, honest, open, and whilst I wouldn t have complained about the initial servers at all, Marika took the experience to the next level with her ability to be so professional and friendly at the same time. I never leave reviews but she earned it.

Attended with one of my dearest friends and from the greeting to our servers to the meal, everything was done right. Rib steak and sides cooked to order and very tasty. We had 3 servers, 2 of which were terrific but our 3rd server Marika was simply outstanding. Went for drinks, which were great but the service was so slow despite it not being busy. We had three different servers over the course of our visit. None of them came to the table to check on us, ended up having to walk over to the bar to ask for drinks and a bill. The servers were friendly enough but our table was ignored all night.

That was the worst service I have ever received at a restaurant. Our server lied to us about the wait time for our food. Overall food was mediocre but not worth the wait. Dont recommend coming here unless you want to wait 2 hours for food.

I went here in 2023 when they first opened and again last night and both times I had AWFUL service. We waited for 45 minutes before anyone even greeted our table or gave us water. Took an hour and a half to get our drinks and almost two hours for our apps and mains. Nothing was comp. I also spoke to the table beside us and they had awful service. The lost all their order and had to wait two hours for their food. The atmosphere is cute and the food is good but doesn t justify the awful service. Lavender Grill needs a better restaurant manager, lots of potentia but service is terrible. I hate leaving bad review on small businesses but dont fall for the trap of the cute vibe and go elsewhere. Plenty of other good places in Ottawa/Byward market.

We visited the restaurant for our TD bank company dinner and Lavender Grill is a gem! From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is welcoming and cozy, perfect for any occasion. The steak was absolutely amazing. The staff are friendly and 3course package that was offered was a great deal.

Horrible service, understaffed, overpriced. Dark atmosphere, not pleasant. I do not recommend dining here, it has a slight chance of ruining your night out with your friends and family.

It was a great experience. I ate very delicious meals here, the price was not expensive and the portions were very sufficient.

Food was mediocre for the price. Nothing special from all the other grill restaurants.

Although most times we have a tendency to avoid places that are not as busy as others, something about this place, ambiance and menu, drew us there. And they did not disappoint. Service was impeccable, even if he was the only server at the time on a Saturday afternoon. Food was incredibly flavourful and fresh. Would definitely return.

What a wonderful mothers day and birthday evening at the Lavender Grill. The atmosphere and food were amazing! Add to that a beautiful jazz band in the background and afterwards a belly dancer! Truly a wonderful evening and experience. Cant wait to go back again ! Thank you to the entire staff

This place is amazing! We stumbled across it while walking around and selecting between so many restaurant alternatives. Contemporary cuisine on their sign got our attention. While deciding, we reviewed their menu and noticed the Lavender Alfredo sauce mentioned. We inquired as to whether it would be lavender flavored, and it is thankfully not; that just means it is the house specialty. I had the lavender gnocchi and my husband had the lavender ravioli. We split the beet salad. All three items were flavorful and absolutely top-notch! Service was very friendly. We highly recommend this lovely restaurant!

This restaurant is the real deal! The dishes, while seemingly pedestrian , were bursts ng with flavour, expertly crafted combination of flavours. The freshness, flavour and quality of the dishes. We both got pasta, and were blown away by their innovation. 10/10 would come back to try all the other dishes. Was here on a date night and had drinks; they are fresh and fun and creative while hitting the spot. The ambiance is lovely, balancing sweetness and modern vibes, and the waitstaff were enthusiastic and professional.

The service is extremely slow even on when 2/3 of the place is empty. Food was below par.

Awful service!! Took us 15-20 mins to find a waiter. The food came in late as well. Overall had a bad experience.

Had really high expectation, however the food and the service was extremely disappointing. The calamari was not edible because of how salty it was. I was looking forward to the blackened chicken club, however the ciabatta was so hard; I couldn t even take bite. Lastly the service, we weren t checked on for once, it took so long to get attention from the server. We had to wait 20 mins for the water. Overall, do not recommend and definitely not coming back!

Great music and great venue for it. Unfortunately thats the only good thing. The food is wildly overpriced and sub par. A 12oz steak...$55!! A steak sandwich as an alternative sounded appealing; at $25, it was grotesque. Dont come here for the food. Have a nice cocktail and listen to great jazz music.

Food was good, shrimp skewers were overpriced (13 dollars for 4 shrimps on a stick), but the place was very nice and aesthetic. The dessert was plentiful

My sister and I went here for dinner last month. We really enjoyed our meal(I ordered the blackened chicken sandwich which was delicious and she got the lavender gnocchi), drinks and dessert. I especially liked the vibes and the purple ambient lighting. Also the lavender flowers hanging from the ceiling are pretty. Shoutout to the waiter for being so kind as to take his time to help me get some pics of my outfit

Cozy and relaxing atmosphere. Good for special occasions. Food is good but not magnificent. They might be better in the near future. They have a potential.
