I ordered from uber eats if you are gonna order this get the burnt ends and quarter chicken the rest are not very good and most of it is just drenched in sugary sauce (the maple brisket was probably the worst taste wise)

Delicious, fall off the bone BBQ beef and chicken. As someone who doesn t eat pork, this is THE spot for BBQ food as they don t serve or prepare pork in this restaurant. Their share platter for two is HUGE, it s a very good price for the sheer amount of beef you get. Brought another guy with me and we still ended up taking some of the meat home. I loved the crackling fireplaces and nature documentaries that they played during my meal, it s an incredibly cozy and intimate atmosphere, I ll absolutely be back to try more of their dishes soon! Dietary restrictions: Their food is 100% halal, would also recommend this restaurant for someone keeping ingredient kosher! Parking: This plaza can get very busy and parking can be hard to come by, but when I went I had no trouble finding parking.

Never found Halal BBQ place in Ottawa before!!! First time Halal Beef ribs tried here, I can see myself be there every month; it s expensive and it s worth it $34 with two sides. Beef Pulled burger, again halal!!! And I asked for put more fat on the burger so they did; It was heavenly!!!! Burger costs $15. The customer service is excellent!!!! Amazing atmosphere!!!! If you are looking for halal food; this is the best place to be, you won t be disappointed.

Great option for Halal BBQ. They keep true to BBQ with few BBQ offering. The food was good. It would not be the best in the genre but provides great option for Halal seekers.

Brisket, beef, corn bread, biscuits, were so dry. Very small portions. Not impressed for the $90 I spent. Also white sauce was very sour.

DON T START WITH THE FRYS! Taking the food home is like trying to enjoy reheated leftovers without the charm of the leftovers part. Dry, sad, and borderline tragic. So this time, I thought, Aha! I ll beat the system and eat it fresh in the restaurant! But plot twist: the restaurant was so cold, it felt like they were saving on heating to splurge on napkins. Even the screens showing a fake fireplace with crackling sounds couldn t help it s hard to feel warm and cozy when the flames are digital, and your food s already cooling faster than a popsicle. We ordered a bunch of food and started eating immediately, but the chill in the air meant the clock was ticking faster than on a reality cooking show. The mac & cheese? Hard pass it s so dry, it could double as packing material. But credit where credit s due: the burnt ends were actually fantastic, easily the best thing on the menu. If only the rest of the meal had lived up to that standard! So, if you plan to eat here in the winter, bring a coat, gloves, and maybe a heated blanket. Or just wait for summer maybe the fries and fake fireplace make more sense in the heat.

This place does not look at instructions on Uber Eats orders! for example, i asked for less sauce or less fatty burnt end pieces but i got the same regular plate. Please close custom notes/instructions section on uber eats. that is something you can do to let people know you cannot change plates at all. leaving it on indicates that plates are customizable when, in reality they arent.

Driest brisket I ve ever had. It s almost not edible. It was clear that the meat has been sitting out for a long time. I wouldn t try that place again since I ve spent 30 dollars to chew on some cardboard. Nonetheless, the rice is pretty good and the Mac and cheese is decent. The chicken rub taste good but also dry.

They have a decent attempt at creating the flavor and taste. The sides are nice while the mains were acceptable in the vast category of BBQ. It serves halal meat, so definitely serves a larger audience.

Excellent food and service

I came here on a Thursday night with very high hopes, but Im extremely disappointed. Brisket was very dry and chewy and lacked any smoke ring, as can be seen in the picture. The place was quiet with just me dining in, and still the quality of food was pathetic. Waste of $40 for a single person. Not recommended.

Food is amazing! Juicy, tender and full of flavor. Start with the sample platter (where you get a bit of everything), but pulled beef sandwich is great too. Quite possibly best smokehouse BBQ in Ottawa. Dine-in space is a bit small but still acceptable and the service is excellent. Highly recommended.

I recently visited Moe s BBQ and was deeply disappointed with my experience. The service was abysmal; the attendant who took my $200 order seemed completely clueless, which set the tone for the rest of the meal. The food was mediocre at best. The sides were forgettable, with the coleslaw resembling slop more than a proper dish. The presentation of the food was a joke fries were unsalted, and the meat was extremely dry. I genuinely question how this restaurant stays in business; perhaps it s just hype, but I was far from impressed. This place is not worth your time or money. If you re looking for quality Halal food, do yourself a favor and explore other options. Take your money elsewhere.

The food it wasn t that good but I thought the people working there are Muslim as a halal restaurant must be Muslim people or I dont care if they are Muslim but Muslim restaurants I didn t thought that there will be gay people working there

I think this was one of my worst experiences I had today ribs and they were so hard to eat and not tender at all. I told the waiter and he was like ok will give u a new one and the new one was still the same but warmer. I paid 75$ for two persons meal but I regret going there cause my sister and I could not eat the ribs and had to trash it. I tried before Dickey s and their ribs were more tender I wish I went there instead of wasting my mone. But their brisket was very good

I ve been to Moe s BBQ before and can say that I was mostly satisfied with their food quality every time since today. On this occasion however, upon receiving the food delivered, the first red flag was all 6 missing sauce tins (of which the red sauce quite literally carries the meat on its back). Not a good sign. When opening the BBQ Sample Platter, we could notice immediately the brisket and pulled meat looked off. The brisket was drier than my Nan s big toe, and the pulled beef, which already has been the worst part of the platter, tasted about as good as the plastic the platter was served in. Not a good start, but god almighty knows that wasn t the worst part. Upon biting into the chicken, the exterior of the meat was pinker than Patrick Star, and when getting deeper near the bone, the sight was bloodier than the attack on Pearl Harbor. I must have done something horrendous to the cook to warrant them trying to give me food poisoning. In all, I can confirm I will never be ordering from here again after the 4-5 times I ve eaten from them before. Don t come here unless you re a fan of SpongeBob SquarePants and like seeing your favorite character in the Smoked BBQ chicken.

It was my favorite restaurant in the city and I used to go weekly. Yesterday Tuesday 25th I went with my friends. The big mixed plater was cold, dry and old (both the meat and chicken) Only the ribs were hot and fresh.

We got the burnt ends and brisket. Food came quickly. The burnt ends were exquisite. Truly a 5/5: Melt-in-your-mouth, perfectly charred, and in a delicious sauce. Brisket was good, but not as good as the burnt ends. Smoky flavor was prevalent in every dish. For the sides: portions were excellent. The biggest winners were the beans and coleslaw. The fries were average. I would say the item that needs the most work is the mac & cheese. It certainly needs more cheese, and potentially a roux with more butter and whole milk.

Where do I begin? The food is EXCELLENT and the experience gets Better and better as time passes. The bbq sauce is mouthwatering and the meat is sooooooo juicy! I absolutely love the white sauce. Everything is SUCH GOOD QUALITY and the prices are competitive. I have been going here for years. The staff and atmosphere is relaxing. I always dream about the taste when I haven t had it for a while and I come back. This is the best BBQ restaurant in all of Ottawa!

Saw this place in IG and wanted to try it!!! We were definitely shocked!! The FOOD WAS Amazing!!! The brisket was melting in our mouth!! The smoked chicken is definitely why we will be coming back!!! Caint wait to come and try their beef ribs the next time. Loved their BBQ sauce!! Loved everything on our plates. Definitely solid 8.5/10. Great service as well.

I open the second one same thing what the hell I ordered before for the first time this is my second time the first time was good the second time wasn t and I paid $40 not happy

When I open this pack, there is a used sauce container without cap, and one of others is leaking. It s so sticky everywhere. I do not know why they made this so messy. I was looking forward to enjoy my food, but it makes me lose my appetite.

Looked up best BBQ in ottawa and Ill tell you Moes didnt disappoint..... holy smokes !!! Hands down best BBQ Ive ever had. Perfectly sauced, cooked to perfection. The sides were amazing. Mac and cheese wasnt too creamy or too heavy was perfect. The coleslaw was light and again not too creamy. Dare I say perfect. Its a nice quiet place for a romantic dinner but still family friendly and just the right size for groups. Highly recommend this place.

Food was not good. Ribs were beef so not my favorite. There was alot of fat/grease on the back of ribs. So much so it over powered the sauce. Brisket wasn t too bad. Needed the sauce to be good. Pulled pork was bland. I ordered the dinner for two and only got 1pc of chicken leg. And that was not good. The side of beans was just disgusting. Almost spat it out. I think my disappointment was made worse because it smelled soo good while I was waiting for my order to come. I m really heartbroken cause I thought I found a good place to eat. Well on to the next place. Won t be going back.

We got 2 shared platters for 4 for 9 people and were served relatively quickly. At first I was worried the portions wouldn t be enough, but we had some leftovers! The food is really good, all the meat is tender (ribs, chicken legs and pulled beef) and flavourful. The sides (aside from the gravy which was great) are not that noteworthy, the mac and cheese was plain and not as cheesy, the beans were watery not salty enough and the fries were plain. Come for the halal BBQ alone!

We dont live anywhere near South Keys, so the best we can do is about 1x per year - On Sunday we placed an order for the family platter, plus extra brisket, plus smoked chicken poutine. The flavour was definitely lacking this time. No discernible smokiness except in the chicken. Brisketg looked uniformly brown and dry. Ribs were dry and again, no smokiness or interesting flavour. Smoked chicken poutine and the chicken quartgers were the best part. The mac and cheese was flavourless and had no cheese or even salt. Beans - runny and flavourless. I love a coleslaw not made with mayo, but this one lacked flavour. Based on our first order 1 year ago for fathers day and this years order for fathers day, we likely wont be making the 90 minute round trip drive in the future. Sorry Moes. -- The beef ribs and chicken were amazing here! Mac and cheese, beans and coleslaw are really good too. Should have gotten the poutine to try as well but theres always next time.

My boyfriend brought home some chicken, pulled beef, and what should have been 4 sides. They forgot one side and sauce. The fries were barely cooked and not seasoned or with skins, like in the photos. The chicken was tasty, but not a lot of meat on it. The rice container was only half full, making it seem like we got a small portion. This was our first time going and I don t plan on going back.

The food is amazing, I always order from here. Prolly my favourite restaurant in Ottawa. However, I feel the need to share this with you so that you guys can work on improving your service. Now i always order through Uber Eats and EVERY-SINGLE-TIME it s leaking oil. The food is not exactly cheap then why is the packaging like this? I asked for napkins as I was outside in university studying, but there was no napkin, no fork no chopstick nothing. I get that you employed don t read instructions, but do you expect people to eat it with fingers? Secondly, on March 26 (same day as the napkin issue) for lunch I ordered Burnt ends, 12oz and I was really upset because I think they made a mistake and sent 6oz! Given the price that you charge, I think your employees should be trained to be a little more careful about the portions they re handing out. pics are from the 31st of March (not 26) but again it was leaking as usual, which made me feel like I should let you guys know

1. We waited for 40 minutes, when I finally came up to a server, she said she forgot about us, which was a slap to the face kinda feeling. As if I don t exist. Plus the food was already cold. However , she gave us a cheesecake to make up for their mistake. 2. No knives to cut the ribs and meat at the start , but the server just realized that we were struggling with wooden knives and gave us the knives. 3. They didn t ask if we dine in or out, so they just gave us a take out bag, but we were sitting right in front of the cashier for 40 minutes by the table and waiting. 4. Don t order chicken, the taste is nahhh 5. The server never gave us a receipt and when I asked for it after 40 min, she still didn t give anything but the cheesecake Ribs are good but not pull off the bone !!! I used to order food from this restaurant frequently through Uber but the last 3 times I did, the orders came cold, stale and items were missing. I called the restaurant and spoke to someone who really didn t care about the feedback. This was a confirmation that they no longer care about quality, service or customers anymore so I won t be supporting it.

Honestly, it s quite mid for the price. Only good thing were the ribs which we will go back for. Fries were ok, biscuits super dry, burnt ends had way too much sauce and the brisket was some of the driest meats I ve ever had. I don t know what went wrong with the brisket, but even dousing it with their sauce made no difference.

Too expensive for the quantity, the meat is covered in a sweet sauce, the dish for 2 people comes with a small portion of rice and fries, not even a portion for one person, and the meat is really too fatty

The food is pretty good but the portion for the price is ridiculous, I ordered burnt ends at the price of $22, that s with no side just meat, the portion was a barely enough for a single layer on the bottom of the tin pan, I couldn t believe it omg, we had to go get food else where because we were all still hungry.

If you love smoked heat and are a Halal person this is the spot. The owner himself is there most of the time and caters to your questions and needs. The food service is fast and very family friendly. The must haves are the burnt ends, the ribs, brisket. For the sides I would recommend cornbread and fries.

Visited Moe s BBQ on Saturday March 10th and was extremely disappointed. Spent over $85 on our order. After the wait for our food we grabbed it at the counter and sat down to eat. Nothing looked like the pictures they had on their website (our order vs what their website gallery below). Besides for EVERYTHING being cold, the fries were not fully cooked or seasoned like the photos. Not even salt. The chicken was missing half of the skin and was cut (would expect a bbq place to have a meat thermometer rather than cutting the chicken to see that it s fully cooked). The pulled beef was minced up and looked as if someone had chewed it and spit it onto our tray. The brisket was dry as can be (clearly displayed in the photo). Not red or juicy like the photos on their website. The rice tasted chemically and was undercooked. The mac and cheese had a weird sour taste. Didn t bother trying the coleslaw as all the sauce was soaked at the bottom and didn t look appetizing. Overall wouldn t recommend to anyone. After taking a bite of each item trying to be positive it was getting worse and worse. Ended up leaving everything there as garbage and went and spent more money elsewhere.

Ordered the burnt ends platter with Mac and cheese and fries. The burnt ends were dry and hard to chew. There was minimal sauce so that didnt help either. The mac and cheese for some reason had some raw uncooked onion in it. Very disappointed, especially when I spent over $50 for it. The last time I ordered they gave ne the wrong order. I order fairly regularly from here so I decided to give tbem a second chance. But bad/wrong orders twice in a row are ridiculous, so I doubt I will order again.

I had been looking forward to trying Mos for some time but my experience left me disappointed. I ordered delivery and got the BBQ sampler platter. The brisket and pulled beef were pretty dry. The chicken leg was probably the best thing about the whole meal - juicy, sauce was good. I can only describe the sides as lacklustre and disappointing. These are supposed to shine in a place that says it does Southern BBQ. The mac and cheese had no real cheese to speak of and I would put money on it being PC white cheddar macaroni. The biscuit which was $6.50 (and you only get one by the way) which is supposed to be tender and flaky was hard and tasteless, also probably from a box. I doubt Ill order from them again. Not worth the 30+$ when the only decent thing was the meat. Doubt Ill go back.

We went four years ago, 2019 and again yesterday in 2023. The meat in both occasions was fantastic - I highly recommend it. But avoid the sides. Back in 2019 the mac and cheese was amazing but today, it was a warmed up version of the KFC macaroni salad: watery and without no flavor, it tasted like the cheese came from a powder. The fries are the usual frozen fare, the 2019 version was much much better. Having said that, the ribs and the brisket were to die for! Id go again, but I would certainly avoid the sides and order a la carte.

Remember when Meatings Bbq opened in Orleans a few years back? Well, this place is exactly, if not better, than there. Muslim pkace that serves delicious beef and chicken.

I so wanted to like Moes bbq, and I had to absorb my experience prior to writing my review. I ordered the 6oz burnt ends, smoked beans, and coleslaw. Firstly, the burnt ends, the flavor wasnt bad. However, these were not actually burnt ends, which are cut from the point. What I was served was cubed brisket cut from the flat sauced and broiled. You can see as some of the sauce burned on the foil container, which is an odd choice of dinner ware to serve the customer. I would have rather had it served traditional bbq style on the tray. The beans were not cooked long enough as they still had some rawness to them, and the sauce was way to loose. The coleslaw was not fresh, this was evident from the color bleed of the red cabbage and purgatory the bottom of the container. It was made and portioned at a minimum of 2,3 days prior. Also I have never served or been served a hot side in a plastic container with a lid? It made me wonder if it was just heated up in the microwave. Sorry Moe I was hoping for so much more. The idea of a hala bbq joint in the area is genius however the execution was amamture at best. Oh and what a weird atmosphere to have the cashier watching the movie wonder on the TV above the cash

Amazing food, best BBQ I ve ever had. For what it is, the prices are very reasonable. Staff are super nice. The dine in atmosphere is OK, wouldn t recommend it for a nice dinner out experience - but if you want a casual bite to eat it s comfortable. I wish they used real dishes and glasses for dine in customers as they generate a lot of waste with paper/plastic and it s not as nice to use. Vegetarian options: No vegetarian options

Much better, I ate here about a year ago and had fewer positive things to say, the food was way better! Well done Moe s! I have to go with a 4/5 on the food as the brisket was a bit dry despite having a reasonable layer of fat around it. A small nitpick, it was tasty - I would recommend. One can t expect TX BBQ in Ottawa (yet, if I check in again that s a real possibility). I was happy with the food

This was one of my go to places for ordering during the pandemic. Their bbq sauce is delicious. My favourite is the beef brisket! If you get the sample platter you re able to try a little bit of everything. All the sides are delicious too

The food is delicious. We ordered the BBQ platter for two. It s a satisfying portion of ribs, brisket, pulled beef, chicken and two choice of sides + 3 sauces. We chose the French fries and the Mac & cheese. The service was good, the environment cozy and the price is reasonable. I definitely recommend this restaurant!

Ordered in for dinner. Wish I could give this place a better review. The biscuits were dry and hard, not worth the money. The platter was severely lacking in the brisket. The caramel sauce was missing on the cheesecake. The beans were watery. Theres better places out there.

Terrible

Ive seen ads for this place for years and always wanted to go. I finally got the chance to and was disappointed. I ordered the quarter chicken with two sides. The chicken had good flavor but was small. The BBQ sauce was excellent. The Mac and cheese and baked beans were definitely made in house but dont taste like typical American/Canadian BBQ sides unless you have them with the BBQ sauce. I expected amazing flavor that would blow my mind and have me ordering more meat, but it was all in all just ok. It wasnt bad, but not somewhere I would specifically stop for again. Inside the place is quite dark and service was a bit weird despite being the only customer in the restaurant, didnt even give me napkins with my takeout and seemed offended when I asked to sit down just to have a taste (no one else was in the restaurant, maybe the cashier just wanted to go back to their phone or lazing around). Ordered delivery, food came warm in an aluminum tray. AMAZING bbq flavour, you can tell they take their time and have the expertise making the smoked meat. 10/10, every time i come to Ottawa I will definitely come by! PS please open a location in Vancouver... Dietary restrictions: Halal meat!

Had a terrible experience ordering takeout tonight. Ordered burnt ends which the girl told me they had apparently they never added it to our order which I m not sure if I believe 60$ for 1/4 chicken and 12oz of brisket? so we go home without the key piece- oh and everything was cold (I live 10 minutes away at most so it was never hot). The biscuit was chewy and disgusting, the fries were barely cooked literally every item we ordered was subpar AT BEST. I have had good experiences in the past but I can t lie- this was really bad. Super disappointing service and product. Looking at the recent reviews it seems this place has really gone downhill that was definitely my experience this evening. I have visited several times before, I will not be going back. Sad to see this place fall off.

I go to eat at the restaurant today ! At first restaurant was closed even sign was saying open . After the worker open for me we go in me and my friend and here 3 years old son ! Walking towards the cash yo order I steps on a baby mouse and my friend saw that so she start screaming we was all scared and the worker was looking at us like it s a normal thing I will never eat at this place it s disgusting

Great bbq

Amazing restaurant with high quality food. You cannot finish this on your own!!! The flavours melt in your mouth and you will crave this for a while. The servers were really nice and we received our food pretty fast. I highly recommend this halal place for everyone.

Had the rib and it was absolutely delicious. The lady at the counter was so nice and helpful. Everything is 10/10. But i think the tables could be much cleaner other wise all are perfect.

I was really looking forward to trying this place but the food was so disappointing. I had ordered for delivery and by the time it came, the food was cold, not because it was delivered but as if it were sitting out for a while already. The fries were dry and so were the meat. I was expecting it to be tender and juicy but it was not, it was really dry and bland and it didnt help the fact that everything was drenched in BBQ sauce that tasted like it came out of a bottle. I am just so frustrated because their food is not cheap and I wanted to treat myself but I couldnt even manage to eat half of it and I hate to just waste food like that.

Moreover, 15 min before closing, he told me that we were going to close soon even though we forgot our order. I didnt take it. KEEP THE REST FOR THE PIGEONS. Ill never set foot there again.

Delicious traditional bbq and completely halal. The ribs are tender with a perfect sweet and savoury flavour. The coleslaw and jalapeño cornbread are very good as well. Depending on the day, they can be very busy so longer wait times, but it s worth it!

Service was amazingly fast and the food was pretty good as well. The corn bread, Mac and cheese, the brisket and the chicken was awesome.

$21.xx with tip for a small pita bread stuffed with some ground beef, a bit of cheese and some bbq sauce. no side, (they didnt offer) no napkin (they didnt offer). I was the only one inside. Very over priced, Im a small guy and I had to go eat somewhere else after. I wont be back. I was really looking forward to trying this place but it was a very big disappointment. whole time I ate I was wishing I had just gone through the Wendys drive through. Atleast I would have had enough to eat. There were lots of positive reviews so I dont know who those people are but that was not my experience.
