We stopped by for breakfast in the morning. We ordered the 3 plain pancakes that came with fruit and a brunch burger. I will say the watermelon, guava strawberry smoothie was great. Atmosphere is comforting. Felt clean and was a good meal if you need one. Service was okay and welcoming.
We met with friends that we haven’t seen for awhile for brunch. I ordered a plate with 1 poached egg on an English muffin, spinach, caramelized onions, mushrooms and goat cheese . It came neatly plated with potatoes on the side and fresh fruits. It was a good amount, I managed to finish everything on the plate. The egg was cooked just right and the hollandaise sauce was tasty but subtle. The staff was friendly, the place was inviting. And I particularly enjoyed the warm decaf coffee they served. We sat there not feeling rushed, we were comfortable chatting while eating our food. For me, this place is definitely a good spot to meet-up with friends and enjoy brunch!
Took my 3 and 6 YO and it was great. Server put the kids food order in right away and was really great with kids being kids. Food came promptly and was delicious. Boys ate all their food which is the best vote you can get from them. Family friendly.
I am baffled as to why people like this place. I knew it was going to be a bad experience from the start. A sign reads "please allow us the pleasure of seating you". Okay. That's standard. Except the person who was supposed to seat us took her sweet time. Then she takes even more time picking up some loose change from the counter as if someone would steal it if she took two seconds to seat us. The coffee was swamp water.... COLD swamp water. I asked for a glass of ice to add to my water. The male server repeated "Just a glass of ice". I said, "Yes". He still came back with a glass of water with a little bit of ice in it. The food took forever to arrive. I thought, "Well, at least it will be hot". Nope. Everything was cold. Are those supposed to be their signature potatoes? I love pan-fried potatoes, but these were bland and barely cooked! My "over easy" eggs were practically over hard. We didn't eat, as you can see. The server never came back to check on us. We left our table to pay and that's when he cleared the dishes and since we were still nearby, he told us to have a nice day. He didn't ask if anything was wrong with the food because he doesn't care. I will never, ever give my money to this place again. Cora, are you okay?
I've been to plenty of other Cora locations before and this one was unfortunately the worst by far. The toast came so cold, that the butter didn't melt (see picture for details). My omelet was not cooked properly.. it was undercooked. Tasted mushy. Really bad. The coffee was warm, instead of hot. The server seemed very strange too. Just came off as very fake.
I ordered the Gargantuan Breakfast which is suppose to have 1 Blueberry Pancake, bacon, ham, sausage, Canadian peameal bacon, and 2 eggs. When I recieved my meal I was missing the peameal bacon, the pancake had 0 blueberries, and instead of having 2 eggs sunnyside up I got 1 egg scrambled. I also didn't ask for the Western Mix but they felt like adding it to my meal and charging me for it. I love Cora's just not this location. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE: I chose to give this location a second chance, they asked me which language I'd prefer to be served in I stated English. I was handed a French menu and when I stated I asked for English a second time I was informed thats all they had left. I asked for rye toast and recieved white. For Cora's info, customers in Ontario do have the legal right to be served in either English or French, which ever the customer chooses. Failing to have enough menues in either language goes against these human rights. Please make sure you have an English and French menu for every seat you provide.
I absolutely love this place! The friendly waitress, generous food portions, and delicious dishes make it a top choice. Great prices and free coffee refills are definite bonuses. Highly recommended!
We really enjoyed the food there. Service is fine. The food portions are massive. We had a chorizo crepomellette, which was really tasty, an omelette, and the oatmeal, which was the highlight of breakfast. It was one of the best I had in a long time. I had a massive cappuccino which was done really well. All quite fast. It was early on Sunday (8am), so the place wasn't that busy.
their food in general is fine, but when I tried getting 70$ worth of their stuff they cancelled my order themselves and didnt give me my money back. I had to contact an Uber agent online to get my refund

As we entered this location for breakfast this morning, we were greeted by a very welcoming waiter, who made us feel right at home. Served us in French, our first language and made the whole experience so wonderful! It was the best experience weve had at any of the Cora restaurants weve visited in Ottawa. Thank you friendly waiter for making our day so bright !!

We had breakfast this morning at Cora, the big plus of this brand is the mixed sweet and savory plates. I really liked the decoration of the room in pastel colors. Nothing to complain about the quality of the plate it was very good

DONT ORDER TAKE OUT! Ordered a pancake breakfast for take out with a coffee, didn t get the coffee, or the maple syrup I was up charged for, was given brown delapatated fruit and dry pancakes. My order had 3 items and 2 were missing. I paid $30 for dry pancakes I didn t eat. Go somewhere else!

This is definitely a popular breakfast place given that it was busy over the weekend. They have a lovely and extensive menu with loads of options. The service is super friendly, helpful and efficient and very quick too. The food is delicious and portion sizes are HUGE! Calorie count is mentioned next to each dish which is very helpful (though no one should be counting calories on a weekend breakfast). This is definitely a must go to when visiting Ottawa and I hope they open up in Toronto soon!! Prices too are extremely reasonable and free coffee refills is always a plus!
The truth is, if I could give it 0 marks I would, the service was horrible, the wait for the food was long and the moment I went to ask, the attitude was horrible. Not at all recommended, my boyfriend and I spent 1 hour in the place and we only took 10 minutes having breakfast.

Fruits where not fresh, decor was very 1990s, waitress kept referring to my sister has hun . Try anyplace else, Eggspectation, Chateau Laurier, you know some place civilized where the food is good and the staff is respectful, in a beautifull surroundings.
Clean establishment. Food that I ordered wasnt very tasty. Breakfast poutine tasted like fajitas. Probably cause they put peppers and onions in it. Pretty bland decore. Would return to try again maybe...... prices are a bit high for breakfast.

Poor service Kitchen was backed up 45 min to get our meal.. And it was not what we ordered. Server Luc seemed to vanish so we could not get it rectified. Coffee cup sat empty, server forgot to bring several items, toast,. Syrup, sugar. By the end of our meal after 12 We arrived at 1030 an new staff member came on shift and he was helpful but too late to rectify the meal being wrong. Got to cash and clerk asked after our meal and she responded with oh. Kitchen was backed up. Want some fudge... Wont return to this location. 54$ for the wrong breakfast for 2
Breakfast was not up to usual Cora standard. Staff threw away my friends food after she requested to take home leftovers. They did make her another breakfast.
This place is the definition of a Louisiana funeral procession in the form of a long painful church breakfast. No vibes. No smiles. Soggy potatoes.
The reviews of this place are overrated. The wait time was long to get a waiter. I had to ask to get coffee at least. Service is not the best and the food was not great.

Amazing service. We were there for a soccer tournament and a couple of families decided on this location for breakfast. They were super accommodating and super friendly to our large group. Nice to still this. Our server Alissa was amazing with our kids and tool care of us very well. We will definitely be back.
Place is cozy and welcoming. Good breakfast place with fruits instead of fries as sides. We love our waiter Luc. He s so filled with sunshine and smiles. The kind of server you would want to have to perk your morning up! Food

We got take out. Everything is cardboard and you taste it in the food and in the coffee. My wife also got the gluten free crepe and it was completely inedible. The silver lining was their orange juice, very good. The man bringing my food in the beginning was nice and attentive.

We had to wait for 40 minutes for our food, we ended up canceling because of the waiting time, and people who came after us got their food first. The coffee was not that good.

We love this specific Cora s location for its friendly staff, atmosphere and hospitality. There are options for everyone and plenty of places to park around this location. Potatoes were cold, bacon tasted like it was cooked in old grease. Third time trying Coras, 3 strikes, youre out. Last time eating at your franchise. Overpriced food for poor quality. No one can afford it.
Overall the food was very good but my daughter didn t like some of the fruits but if I didn t have kids this place is 5 stars
I ve been here about 6-7 times since moving to Ottawa this summer and have somehow had Laurie as my server each time. She is absolutely fantastic and it is always a great experience with great food!
My husband and I flew from Calgary to Ottawa for 4 days.We found a very tasty place , we went to eat every morning .Very pleasant service, and very tasty.Right next to our Hotel.We will still be in Ottawa, we will definitely visit this place

The food here was disgusting. We both had an omlettet, the potatoes were barely cooked and the omlette itself was super thin like they were trying to save on eggs. The place was dirty, walls etc need paint and is in desperate need of a face-lift. The server was very friendly and prompt though.

Service was difficult, only one wait staff covering the room. We didn t care!! It was fun to sit and watch people and the food was excellent! Make sure you put money in the parking meter and at least for 2 hrs. We couldn t get the credit card to work and only had enough change for 75 minutes. That cost more than breakfast for 3. But we made memories and will certainly go back again!!!
Very nice staff. No healthy food options other than some unripe fruits. Small coffee is 4$ but the quality is terrible (colored water).

What a complete brunch, super breakfast, worth repeating!
One of the worst experiences, not ideal for families. Location is super busy and they don t care. Owner/Manager is super rude and has no regard for the customer or the business they provide. When we asked for some service after waiting for more than 30 min for food his reply was we don t have a machine, you need to wait minimum 45 min . On second occasion he was yelling in our face for asking for service (water and tissue tissue) while we had a 3 year old at the table. Poorly run and managed business. Just the worst experience, never expected this absurd and insane behaviour from a family friendly place like Cora. This guy does not deserve our business, never going back.
Me and my friend went to the place for the first time, and since the beginning, the service has been horrible. The host just told me to sit down at a table without a menu and then bring the menu 5 mins later. Then, the server took our order, but later came back to take the order again because she forgot it. And then we were waiting for a whole hour to get our order and the server kept telling us that its coming but the people who came after us already had their order but we didnt. We are very disappointed with our first time being there, and we left without getting our food at all after paying for just one tea, never coming back here again.

We waited 2 hours before getting our plates due to a computer error (supposedly). The restaurant was packed. We were super understanding. The waitress, to make up for it all, offered to reduce our bill. We accepted. When paying with the manager, she told us that an error was made on the invoice because it was too low. We take the trouble to explain the delay, the errors and the waitresss proposal. Without even finishing, she responded to us with such arrogance, telling us that it was not their problem if the restaurant was full and that they give no discounts. We finish our explanation by suggesting that we will pay as the bill. The manager gave us our money back by banging her on the counter and raising her voice: you are threatening . Dear lady, know that the threatening person in this story is you. Also know that despite the errors and the delay, we were super understanding and our intention was to tip big enough to offset the discount on our bill. After being answered in this tone, we left nothing more. You have greatly damaged your reputation and your team. Please be aware that in such circumstances (traffic, error, delay, etc.), a consumer bases their experience on the proactivity and courtesy of the team. Regarding the waitress: 100%. But your attitude and your words ruined everything. Please know that we come on vacation to Ottawa in groups of 10 or more people every summer and that we were happy to come see you again this year. By your reaction, know that this was our last visit...
5 stars for great service. Our server was very and quick and friendly. The food was decent and it was absolutely packed but we did receive good service.

Portions are huge, as always. I ordered eggs Benedict and the server asked if I wanted my eggs runny. They were not runny. In fact they were pretty solid.

This Coras is very tired. There are SO many staff here and the place just comes across as very uncared for. Service, yes, the main guy is always telling them to bring more coffee, etc., no issues there in our experience. However, the place is unclean. The floors are sticky...so sticky your shoes are like glue on them when you walk. The bathrooms are atrocious; soap dispenser falling off wall and mostly unusable and empty, unidentified stuff all over washroom floor, same sticky floor. Everything just does not look clean, even glasses and cutlery just look like they need 1 more run through a well maintained dishwasher with adequate soap. Makes you kind of scared to see the kitchen where they are preparing food. This whole place needs a professional to come in and clean it and show the folks who run it how to keep a restaurant clean, in all areas. Would definitely not return. Have been to other Coras and the experience was very different.

We rolled in with four adults and four young kids and somehow they not only put up with us, but with amazing service, provided an excellent experience. The staff deserve lots of praise for their patience and attentiveness.

Kale smoothie was not very good and I didn t drink it, eggs benny were under cooked. Overall I was very disappointed with the food, service was good. Server didn t seem surprised when I was asked how it was and nothing was offered in compensation.

The place is clean and cute. We arrived before 10 am on a Sunday, which seemed smart because it got busier after. Our server was really nice and smiley. I ordered a savorini crepe with bacon and fruit salad, my husband goat and tomato omelete. Amazingly, all fruits were sweet!!! No sour pineapple or tasteless cantaloupe which has happened to me before in other places. We enjoyed here very much. I Highly recommend here!!

Standard franchise of Cora s. Very diverse menu except there is no steak & eggs. The plating/presentation of each entrée is beautiful. Service is a little inconsistent, some mornings we were waiting forever for table service, other mornings everything came quick fast-food style. The location provides no street parking, but paid parking is readily available nearby, and it is very close to the Rideau LRT station.

My bf referred to this place as the Ihop of Canada. My gluten free crepe was just ok. His normal crepe was just ok. The Maple Latte Cup didnt taste like much of anything. We both got that to drink. Huge portions for the price! That being said it cost $50+ for two to have an ok lunch here. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free crepes and toast!

An average breakfast place. I feel as though Cora s quality has gone down over the years. There is less focus on making quality breakfast and more focus on getting meals out quickly to get new customers in. One thing that I feel must be pointed out at our most recent experience is their choice of correcting the wrong food. We had ordered one egg Benedict with ham however the salmon was brought out instead. Not a problem! They took the plate back and brought out one with ham instead a few minutes later. THE ISSUE (and this is important for anyone with allergies) is that they did not remake the whole Benedict, rather they just took the salmon off and put ham on instead. An easy fix as they mentioned but there were still noticeable traces of salmon. We did not have seafood allergies but someone who does could have had a very disastrous experience. Just something that I believe is necessary to point out. Food safety is important for many reasons!
So sad how this place has gone downhill, I ve loved this place so much since I was so little and now it s not worth the time or money at all. The food has become so bland and thrown together, I ve always loved their crepes with Nutella but it tastes like they are now using a cheap off brand version and man are they using it sparingly. The crepes used to be stuffed full of fruit and Nutella and now it s just sad. My friend got a skillet and requested no mushrooms, request was ignored. She asked for a hard boiled egg on the side and not in the food, she was given an unpeeled egg that was dumped right in the hollandaise sauce. Also there s been a noticeable decline in presentation, dishes used to be so pretty and well sorted and now it s like they just dump the food on the plate. Plus what kind of breakfast joint charges 3 freaking dollars for coffee with your meal? $5 glass of orange juice? So disappointed
Wasnt the typical Chez Cora experience. Took a while to reach us. Food wasnt that great as it used to be. Pretty sure they overcharged me for extra stuff I didnt even want. Weird employee behaviour. Wont be returning and wouldnt recommened. Kid-friendliness: Kids are always screaming in the restaurant.
Good service and good/healthy food. The only issue was that they sat me right in front of an AC vent and it was freezing (people at the next table were complaining about it too).

Very disappointed and never go again. Ordered 2 meals and 1 coffee. They charged 2 meals + extra western mixed and 2 coffee. We asked to correct the bill, they did took out the extra coffee. But the western mixed still on bill. Asked what is that the casher ignored. Overall pricey and scammed.
The staff is warm, welcoming, funny, and treats you like family. Ive been there twice; once with my wife and once with my extended family; both times were great. If we go back to Ottawa, well definitely have breakfast there again. Thanks!
Been there a few days ago and disliked it. The food was bland and tasteless. The place isnt very clean either. I had a cup of coffee with my breakfast and they charged 3.25$ for coffee. I will not be going again.

The good: This is a busy restaurant, however they didnt take long to seat us. Service was fast, and we got our food quickly. It was pretty basic breakfast food so I have no complaints as it was done as ordered. The bad: Lack of cheap parking options nearby (this is a complaint about downtown Ottawa in general).

Nice enough breakfast. Smallish portions, but tasty enough. OJ was great. Service was so-so. Waiter didnt come back to check how the meal was going and I had to track him down because he didnt bring my wife her drink. Overall, Id go back, but not out of my way to go again.

First cup of coffee was slow to arrive and only half full. After that refills were timely. Food was good. We were staying at the Novotel hotel. Coras breakfast was infinitely better than the hotels more expensive buffet.
Good varied breakfasts with plenty of fruit. Because of the neighborhood, this Cora is less family-friendly than a suburban Cora. But still good value for money
Absolutely enormous breakfast of granola and fruit with a huge cinnamon brioche with maple butter hidden underneath. Separate cooked breakfast delicious with perfect eggs too.

I wanted to thank the staff for their incredible service last Saturday, prior to the march for Palestine. I was apprehensive going in with my sign but the staff were very friendly, supportive and welcoming. Despite the restaurant being packed, our server always made sure we had everything we needed, checked up on us, and was extremely kind. Kudos to the staff that was working last Saturday.
Something wrong with my eggs preparation, in spite of, I received my food very fast, well served and all was neat.
Food was terrible. Too salty and not even tasty. I felt sick afterwards and had to vomit. However the service was quick and very friendly.
