Outside of the standard Cora atmosphere, this was a rough first-time experience. From the start, our menus were thrown at the table and no server approached us for 10-15 mins. I had to ask a server if we could order. We asked for water and never got it until a second request. Food arrived and wasn't all that tasty. Finally, come time to pay, we didn't even get a goodbye or anything until I initiated the cordial goodbyes. Overall terrible customer service by our server Nana
The breakfast was great and the service was even better. My servers name was Cloud. She was super nice and it’s refreshing when you don’t have to ask for anything. Great experience!
First time experience. Wasn't expecting to see so many staff crowded right around the entrance, it was nice to see how staffed they were, it made me hopeful... Our server, Alex, was in training so we tried to take that into consideration. The menu was a little awkward to navigate, but we got our food really quick and all at once. The food portions were huge, which made me feel a little bit better considering the prices but we were a little disappointed. The potatoes look promising but were quite soft, my pancakes were still a little raw in the middle and my over easy eggs were basically white... There wasn't much to say about the flavour of the food itself, not terrible, just bland, fortunately, they provide salt and pepper on the table and plenty of other condiments, as photographed. I know we should have brought these issues up but our server was hardly to be seen and frankly, we just wanted to leave by that point. Not terrible, just not the best start to our day considering a breakfast for two was over $60... Not pictured but my wife got a strawberry milkshake, that was practically finished within two sips, and my tea was just a packaged teabag in a tiny cup... Definitely don't go for drinks. I understand being new and needing a bit more patience, but because we were tucked so far back when there was plenty of seating closer, we ended up having to wait almost 10 minutes after we were done to get the bill. Our server seemed to be flying solo despite the "in training" tag so perhaps next time one of the many staff chatting by the door could have shadowed or assisted.
I like Coras. The food is always pretty good although I find a lot if the fruit tasteless and goes to waste. With such high prices now (breakfast was around $20 😱) I'd either prefer better fruit ir reduced fruit, reduced pricing. That said, it's a fun busy place and our server was AMAZING, dealing with an ornery customer and serving us with a smile.
My work friends and I get together once a month (or every 2 weeks depending on who’s available) on a Friday and go to Cora’s for breakfast. We are always greeted with a smile and pleasant service. The food comes quickly and is very fresh. It is a bit pricey (for 1 waffle it’s around $20) it has custard, strawberries and whip cream on it. So it’s a bit expensive but delicious. So for 4 people it’s about $100 as prices range from $18-26 for what we usually purchase. It would be great to get coupons or deals sometimes but we haven’t noticed any yet.
Great menu with a lot of options. The food was prepared quickly and the service was good. This was my first time and I had the Cora Special or Cora Breakfast. A pancake, fruit, potatoes, toast, 2 eggs, sausage, ham and bacon. It was great! Everything was fresh and yummy! I'll be back for sure.
We tried this location for the first time in Ottawa. Food was good. Really liked the fresh fruit that came with my meal. It was quite busy when we went. They did check for vaccination proof and had hand sand everywhere which was good. Server was nice.
Ordered breakfast for pickup. Since it’s Covid and there’s no indoor dining. The staff was very courteous and kind, both over the phone and at pick up. Cashier was super grateful for our small tip! 😁 I can definitely appreciate this, most servers don’t even notice. I was pleasantly surprised about the presentation of the food even though they were in boxes. They still put in the checkered paper, and included pieces of fruit. The toast was buttered… with all the condiments, no corners were cut… small but very thoughtful touches. They made our morning! And to top it all, the food was very tasty. Everything tasted fresh and properly cooked/done. The prices were also quite reasonable, especially given the service and care taken in handling the food. We enjoyed the experience and would definitely recommend eating here. I think we will visit again in person once places open up once more.
Dropped by for breakfast with my son (Dec 21,2024). There was a bit of a line up but 5 minutes in we were seated. The waitress shows up with the menus and instantly the smell of her strong perfume hit me like a ton of bricks. Another waiter passed by and again the fumes from his perfume just invaded my space. I ordered the Smoke Meat Poutine and my son ordered the breakfast poutine and a banana smoothie. If I was to rate the food, Id give it less than one star. The dish that it was I served was chipped. Except for the egg which was well done, the cold béchamel over the grilled potatoes and cheese curds was hideous. During the whole time I was eating the smell of the perfume lingered. That combined with that awful dish I couldnt continue eating my breakfast. I called for the check and when she showed up that pungent odor hit me again. Its been three hours since I left there and that awful smell still haunts me. So much so I had to take a shower to chase it away. Where are the rules about wearing perfume in the workplace. There are policies where staff must not come to work wearing scents as there are people who have allergic reactions. For the $60 I spent, it was a huge disappointment and quite frankly it was overpriced. Shame on allowing your staff wear scents while serving tables. I was so offended I paid the exact amount due and left no tip. Concider this my last visit there.
Staff was very friendly. One of the few breakfast places these days that keep your cup filled with hot coffee without having to ask. This minor service seems to be a lost art these days.....it was noted and appreciated
Great spot .. good service as well .. strongly recommend
The meal was very good. Fast service. The waiter Bennett was very polite and even served us in French.
First time experience: Triple choc Pancakes: undercooked in the middle Potatoes: unfortunately they were horrible! Cold in the center and burned in some spots. Spinach Omelette: pretty bland Fruits: not super fresh
Cozy breakfast spot
Great place to go the people are really friendly the food is delicious
delicious food and professional service
Ordered the early bird special for 10.95. It came with 2 eggs, 2 pieces of meat, some roast potatoes and a couple slices of toast. I dont know if that is considered a good deal in this day and age. I just thought it was ok. The food was just ok too. It came in less than 5 minutes so I figure everything was done in an assembly line/buffet style for them. The potatoes were luke warm. If I had a choice I would have gone with hash brown (I guess I didnt read properly as thats what I thought I was going to get). The sausages I had were ok too. Just warm as well. The eggs were the only thing hot and I do say done exactly the way I ordered them. Kudos on that as a lot of times they come way more cooked than I like. Oh I forgot, to garnish the plate they did give a couple slices of tomatoes. They were kind of pasty/mushy tasting so I only took one bite of them. I probably rather they put a couple pieces of fruit, but maybe that costs too much. The coffee I ordered was just ok too. It didnt seem too hot. The server did come around a couple times to refill, which was good (we werent there for that long). Service was quick and reasonably friendly. They are just trying to get you in and out I think. If you want more made-to-order I think you are better off to order from the regular menu. I would expect that to be much better. If you are in a hurry, and dont expect the world, then the early bird will get you in-and-out super fast! Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options such as pancakes, crepes, toast. Kid-friendliness: Lots of kid friendly options like pancakes and crepes. Wheelchair accessibility: Surface parking lot. 1st level establishment with access right from the sidewalk. Level interior. No stairs.
I ordered a fruit waffle on uber with english cream . The english cream was water . The waffle was awful . The fruit was old and tasted rotten especially the grapes and pineapple . Like ewwwwww Food
The food was delicious, and the service was very friendly and thoughtful. It had a while since we were there last, and the menu had more to offer in a great way. We have never been disappointed there. Thanks for the great experience Gord and Colette
Highly recommend to visit Food was 10/10. Friendly staff.
Food came fast! Good service.
Sheriden was the only server and it was getting busy but she did great!
Delicious breakfast with polite attentive service. Nice to see great service can still be found.
Our potatoes were cold, pancake was raw, toast seemed to be day old. Our server tried but with the English being second language it was difficult for him to understand.
Delicious and clean food! Friendly and very comfortable atmosphere. Clean and open kitchen in front of customers, I loved this concept! Pleasant, fast service and no need for an appointment to get a table, they adapt quickly! clean despite the large number of customers who were there and this is an essential point for me!!! I highly recommend it despite some bad reviews who think its expensive and the food is basic Don t hesitate to visit them and enjoy your meal! Thank you Cora
Cora usually better. Disappointed. Food was mediocre
Eat here almost every Sunday. The 2 girl hosts look miserable everytime, they smiled once when they were on their cellphone talking about something non work related. They are pretty rude at check in and then escort you to the table, don t put cutlery at the table, don t offer a high chair for our toddler, don t offer crayons for our toddler, don t respond to our thank you, and look like lifeless souls at the front of your restaurant. Our servers are always friendly and efficient despite how busy it is but those hosts ruin the atmosphere.
Weve visited this Coras 4 times this year and each time we were very disappointed, we WILL NOT be back. Service was VERY slow; to be seated, orders taken, coffee refills, dirty dishes picked up, bill delivered to table. No wheat, no rye, no multigrain toast available, only white toast. Unheard of at a breakfast restaurant. No straws available for smoothies. What??!!! Toast baskets were very worn out and broken, have not been replaced over the year at all, even though its very necessary for hygienic and esthetic purposes. Ladys washroom; the garbage was overflowing and on the floor and mens; had no paper towels. The 2 female grumpy looking staff that seat people, seem to avoid work and love to talk to each other/kitchen staff. Meanwhile patrons are not being proper attended to... A very very poorly managed Coras. Find another in Ottawa. There are much better ones around town.
So disappointing! Really ordinary food. DISGUSTING breakfast potato (half cooked and not roasted). Worst lunch of my life, two plates and two coffees with 15% tips = $60. Dont go there!
Found glass in food. Enough said. Dont eat here.
Pancakes and crepes are excellent with generous fillings and potatos on the side; their fruit assortments are wonderful: the Surprise had a dozen different kinds, all fresh, ripe and well prepared. Bottomless coffee and tea are bonuses. Sadly, this Cora seems to collect the noisiest clientel in the city. Last visit included two totally out-of-control screaming children, one each side, a group of 8 who shouted at each other the whole time, and, incredibly, a pair with their cellphone watching a football game, volume on high plus cheering each time something happened. Plus, there are kitchen blenders in the dining area. If you like to converse, you have to go somewhere else.
Always a perfect experience at Coras on Hunt Club. Sunshine Panani Crepe with 2 sides of breakfast potatoes and coffee for us, exceptional breakfast.
Food quality varies. Bacon cooked in a deep fryer tastes overdone. Service can be a little slow, such as today when there were four tables fot two servers.
We didnt feel welcome here. The staff at the front looked annoyed when we asked for a table, and didnt say a single word while we were brought to our table. Food was okay, potatoes were undercooked but otherwise our 4 year old loved it. I think we will go to a different location next time.
We decided to have brunch here as we were already shopping in the area. The place was dark, almost empty at the busiest time, save for a couple of other tables and uninviting. The person who greeted us at the door lead us to our table in silence, and looked like they wanted to be anywhere else but there. This was a far cry from the bright Coras full of laughter of a by-gone era. We had a bad feeling about this, and we were correct. The only thing that saved the experience was the young waiter who was super helpful and polite. All ingredients were cheap and stale, and the restaurant removed many breakfast favorites and replaced them with cheap processed frankfurters and bolognas. We mentioned to the waiter about the stale and old ingredients and he was profusely apologetic, but nothing came out of it. Businesses say that customers are no longer gracing them with their presence, but their food quality or lack thereof, and lack of cleanliness of their establishments peak volumes. Perhaps a lesson from their Montrealais counterparts is in order. I will never return to this location, and will try to avoid Cora in general. Highly recommend eating somewhere else if you want to save your stomach.
I love the place. The service is always good. Tha food and the menu are delicious and vast. Food
Great food, great service, great experience!
We always enjoy Coras. With such an extensive menu, theres something for everybody. Their food is consistent throughout the chain. I have rarely been disappointed. Vegetarian options: Lots of options. Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible
Service was fast and friendly, food was hot and delicious, refills of hot water for my tea were endless. It was pouring outside and I had walked over from a car dealership while my car was being serviced. I was invited to stay as long as I wanted until the storm blew over. Super friendly server, really made my day Vegetarian options: Teen burrito is yummy
Kids love this place. Amazing waffles. It always brightens your kind when you go there.
Very attentive waiter. Had the Rebel...a grilled cheese/pizza sandwich ...c/w potatoes...suggest ask for well done. Parking: Plenty of parking Kid-friendliness: Numerous children appeared to be filling their faces and enjoying themselves
Best place to have healthy breakfast Generous portions with lots of options to choose. If you are on a diet, they have a meal for you as well. Plate is full of fruit, no carb Would recommend this for anyone whos on a diet Food : 5/5
Vegetarian options: No meat. Beyond meat Recommended dishes
Great service. Amazing people and plenty of parking.
Fresh, tasty. Asked for white bread and receive brown dry bread, and the inside of the building was a bit cold. Other than that, all good, coffee refresh on time, food warm good, taste good.
The food was not as.tasty.....and a sausage wrap with cheeze is actually a hot-dog wrapped with process cheeze ..not impressed, and the cost didnt jive with the hotdogs! Food
Food was really good. Server was one of those people that expected a tip for doing the bare minimum witch seems to be a growing thing
Nice food. Good price. Clean place.
Expensive and mediocre.
Great breakfast
Excellent food and great service. Cora s is so dependable.
Our server was amazing! Love this location.
We had an extraordinary service from Adam Service
Worst customer service I ve ever experienced. I ordered my breakfast through Uber and when I received it 3/4 of my order was missing. When I called this location to tell them they messed up my order the response was oh the drivers took the wrong order yet my receipt was stapled to the bag breakfast I received. The employee tried to blame the driver but in reality, the staff stapled my receipt to the wrong order. When I asked him if there s something he can do he said there s nothing I can do right now I don t have any drivers to send you your order, your can come pick it up. There was no compassion for their lack of work, no apology, nothing. Bad customer service, unorganized, don t care about their customers.
I ordered pick up and my only complaint is that when ordering online there are no options for substitutions. ??? Why cant I order a crepomelette with buckwheat? Why can I not add to sun dried tomatoes to my omelette?? Food is always good but Ill never order takeout again from here. Dietary restrictions: Gluten friendly options of crepes and toast.
I have been here numerous times. The food was good. Going last week the food was terrible. Not cooked properly. The kitchen staff had no hair nets. 1 cook had a hoodie on. A balding guy had dandruff. When a comment was made to him he shrugged his shoulders and said oh well. Getting blown off like that I found was very rude. If I am ever starving I still will not go there!!!!! Good luck keeping more suckers going there!!!!!
a bit of lineup at the beginning, which could be better organized, but it was worth waiting. The food was great, and the service was too
A decent breakfast place with enough food quantity.
Food was fresh and tasty. Service was good. Would definitely recommend.
Pretty average
Went for breakfast at the Cora s on Hunt Club and will not be going back. We went to try their all you can eat crepes for $10. When we ordered 10 the server only brought out 3. When we asked for more we only received one. Not sure about the process at the other Cora s but seems like a hoax to me. The service was terrible. Our server was not attentive or helpful. We also never got a refill on our over priced coffee. will not be going back.
Great food, prompt & friendly service, decent prices What more could you ask for ? Food : 5/5
A very generic diner feel to it, this isn t a negative comment. Meaning, if you enjoy that atmosphere (which I do) then this place is for you. Staff are average (again not a negative review) which no one should expect otherwise since this is an average establishment serving average Canadians with an average income. I gave it an additional star above average because of the niche focus on breakfast as well as the availability of a multitude of fruit incorporated dishes on the menu, which is unique.
Clean, good service and even better quality of food.
Service and food was great.
Always a great choice. You need to be ready to pay for quality. Coras is top quality
Massively understaffed, very long wait times to be served, food delivery or even coffee refills.
As with most Coras locations, this one had friendly staff, and good food. The only downside was the tables were a bit close together, so if you went when it was packed with customers, youd likely feel crowded.
I felt the price was quite excessive for the quality of food. (Over $100 for 3 breakfasts and 3 orange juice - no extras). The food was warm, not hot. Nothing exceptional. Two of us did not finish our meals because they just werent enjoyable. This is the second time at this restaurant and same experience both times ... other than our waitress this time was amazing!
Great food, kids loved it
The food was decent and the portions were generous. The service was mediocre (it was a busy weekend). Had to repeatedly flag the waiter down just to refill coffee.
The food and service are both excellent, prices are...ok.
Great Service and Great Food-HUGE Portions!
IMHO the best breakfast in Ottawa
Great for takeout and dine in
Friendly staff and delicious breakfast! Highly recommend the 10 star omelette. Thanks Sheridan for the great service (hope the cold weather be over soon)
Our usual breakfast dinner closed so we checked this Cora location. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, facilities were clean and well maintained. Food was fantastic, but a bit on the pricier side compared to our usual. Overall would absolutely recommend. They also had nice little caramel sugar cubes to snack on on our way out :p Vegetarian options: Fruits, Salads, Bowls, and other vegetarian meals Kid-friendliness: Small meals, fun menu items, perfect for a family lunch.
Terrible experience today. We waited as it was busy for a table but watched people who came after us with the same party size get seated before us. All our breakfasts should have had toast, only one order was put on the table. The food was cold we had to ask for silverware and the portion sizes were tiny. $70 for 3 people is a crazy price to pay for breakfast. I expect better from such a large Franchise like Cora s!
So many options for food!! Great service and quick!
I ordered a skillet that had a deconstructed cheeseburger and I really enjoyed it. It was really good.
Its Coras. You just know.
I don t know what I say it s really disappointing,, I paid 30 dollars for food I didn t eat it first of all the cup for the coffee They didnt wash it well and it smells of egg residue Other than that, the eggs smelled very bad, the salmon was not fresh, and the potatoes were very burnt and the oil smelled very bad, as if it had not been changed, very disgusting.
Good people . Hard work. Very clean. Free parking.
Very nice for breakfast if you wantto eat healthy
Food was great and portions were large for the price, coffee was good and the service was great our server seemed genuinely happy to be working there and serving us
Great breakfast, warm and fast and my mom had vegetarian options .
The usual Cora fare. Not my usual location but ate here 3 weekday mornings in a row, ordering from the earlyish menu. My biggest feedback is they need more staff on before 8am. You are seated fast but its a wait to get coffee and place your order. Food comes fast once ordered though. Id also prefer the music to be a little lower volume as I like to read when eating solo. But thats more of a personal preference.
My experience at Coras was very good, server was very professional Wheelchair accessibility: Upon entering there was a ramp Food : 5/5 |
Good food, great service.
At Hunt Club location in Ottawa. The receptionist did not seem happy. Wait for about 20 minutes just sitting there even no drink. The service was not first come first serve. Food is okay. Alo Mon Coco is busy too, but better management.
Standard experience at coras. Good for breakfast with kids. Cutlery is super strange and hard to eat with. Asked for real syrup and they gave me fake stuff (but didnt charge me so that was fine.) Very large portions. Food
Delicious food and great service! 5 happy kids!
Love it ! I have been to a few Cora restaurants, but this one in particular has better food quality. The fruits are fresh and the service is quick. I love their skillet dishes. This place can get really busy on weekends, especially on days that have good weather. We usually end up there at 8am ! Beat the rush and enjoy ...
Good food the potatoes could have had a little more crisp. Great service. Found it chilly. Still love the place
Delicious food, tv with questions for entertainment for the kids
Very family friendly
Its Coras and always good
Really super service. Couldnt have been more helpful with our group of 10. Really patient with our questions about allergies. Delicious food. Dietary restrictions: Really helpful
Went to this location at 10:38 on Father s Day. It didn t look too packed. My dad went into the restaurant to put our names down and ask for a wait time. The server said 20 minutes. Great we were a party of 5. It wasn t until 11:38 we were seated and served. In the meantime.. 2 groups of who I assume were family and or friends of the manager, did NOT wait, walked right in and got an empty seat, no name was scratched off the list, called him brother now I understand that can be friend or whatnot but they were very familiar and friendly with eachother, which was a complete slap in the beak to everyone else who waited their turn. Even IF they put their names down, you d think they would be scratched off no? Obviously he held the table until his friends/family showed up so they wouldn t have to wait. He was a bigger gentlemen, tanned with grey hair. Fine once we got our seat. I ordered a 3 egg, replace the 3 sausage for only bacon, the waitress brings out all sausage no bacon, I said no I asked for only bacon, she come back out with 4 pieces on my plate when the menu said 3 of each so why would I be stiffed? We also waited about 10 minutes for the toast after our meal came.. who wants to eat eggs and bacon without toast? Am I right? It s a staple.. by then waiting our food got cold and the toast was burnt black. Overall it was a very dissatisfying experience and we will not be going back
The food was incredible compared to other cora locations i have been to. The service was good but the atmosphere was mid.
For a restaurant that serves breakfast I was disappointed in the food. My bacon looked like it was microwaved and the potatoes were practically raw. Hazelnut chocolate in the crepes had a wierd taste. I wont go back for the price I paid for this disappointing meal.
It was a very busy place. People lined up to get in. Good selection of food, quality was good service friendly. But a bit pricey.
So good, you will not regret it. Seems like they truly care about the craft.
Overall I do not recommend it and it doesnt make me want to come back. Strawberry not washed and I was giving it to my baby. Way less food than last time I ate there and way more expensive now. Taking too long for the server to come get our order.
Quite busy. Good food. Average!
Food is mostly always good, but if you go before 8 service can suffer as only one server.
Always a busy place, felt short staffed, very rushed
Will not be returning after my experience during breakfast today. After waiting 45 mins we had to get our order picked up to go. The food was cold, looked like it was all just thrown into the takeout container and they didn t even provide any napkins or utensils. Not to mention the potion size.. such a waste of money and time.
The food was decent, but the server rushed us out and came with the bill while my friend was still in half way done. We went there to enjoy ourselves and take our time not to get rushed out.
The food was okay. Fruit was ripe the potatoes werent seasoned. Proteins and toast were great though! My partner LOVED the potatoes, so I could be fussy. The service was amazing!!!
I had 45 minutes to kill before work, and with almost every seat filled, they got my meal to me within 15-20 minutes. It helped that I ordered immediately, but I call that impressive. They are a well-oiled machine!! Vegetarian options: Plenty of Vegetarian options, with substitutions easily made. Kid-friendliness: There were plenty of children and high chairs etc. Wheelchair accessibility: It might be tight getting to the back in a wheelchair, but Im sure they would sit you up front if that were the case. I did not go into the bathroom, so I cant vouch for that, but as a cane user I was happy everything was one level.
The potatoes were undercooked (happens often at cora locations) and the food just seemed sloppy and lacked quality control. The restaurant also had flies inside and that was too much. The servers didnt seem to care about the mess, the quality of the food or coffee refills.
Good food & staff.
very good service, price a little high for eggs and bacon
Pretty good location, not the best, but no complaints. Decent service
Good enough for me
Very nice place for a lunch. Impeccable service. It is better to book in advance.
If this place is going to continually close early than 3, then change your hours! The amount of times we have faced disappointment with we closed the kitchen early because it was slow. There are better restaurants and services, this one has lost all its charm. I recommend going elsewhere!
Love going to this place
Just ok. One of the worst Cora s for atmosphere. The food is the same as all the other location. Staff is nice
Great food, restaurant was completely full but still had great service
I wanted to pick up coffee and I saw the guy that picked up my order mixing the coffee with cream using a knife. When I confronted him about it he said it s a clean knife !!!
The store was pretty busy on Labour Day morning but we got seated quickly. The food was enjoyable but the price is a little steep. I didn t like the toast that was served but the servers gladly swapped it for me free of charge. The poached eggs did make my plate pretty soggy but it wasn t a big deal. The food gets served quickly as well. Good experience overall.
When I m out of town I like going to Cora for breakfast. The food is good and the portions are large letting me get a good start on my day. What I also like is that they are always ready to fill up your coffee. Overall a great experience and breakfast.
Delicious breakfast in very large portions
The was good, is just that every dish has a combination of salted and sweet components... works for many but not for me.
Ordered 2 French toast with sausages bread was nice and fresh plate was a great portion 3 pork sausages taste great 14.95 plus tax :) will be back soon :)
Busy breakfast restaurant, but we were seated promptly and enjoyed delicious crepes and waffles.
Such a special Sunday Breakfast treat.
First time we have been to Cora and it was great
Great food, great service, unable to accommodate dietary restrictions, very loud when full of patrons.
Good food, its a happy place. Portions are not massive just good enough.
They accommodated my diet needs. Dietary restrictions: They had a plate that was delicious and met my needs. They added only fruits, I can eat to a poached egg, cottage cheese and whole wheat toast. Food : 5/5 |
I love this restaurant! Its one of my favourites in Ottawa, with a rich menu of breakfast, lunch, juices and smoothies. Vegetarian options: Available vegeterian options Parking: Free, close to the store, plenty of parking lot. Kid-friendliness: Menu, crayons Wheelchair accessibility: Available
Always enjoy coras
Very delicious and fresh breakfast
Very nice and warm atmosphere place. Menu has lots of options for breakfast and lunch. Everyone who loves crepes and pancakes will be pleased to be here.
Had breakfast hot dogs (2) was actually one weiner cut in half....was disappointed that it didnt look anything like what the menu showed.
