555 Wellington St, Ottawa, ON K1R 1C5, Canada
Please note due to unforeseen circumstances, the pub will be closed February 21st for lunch, opening back up at 3PM. Thank you for your understanding. The Ottawa Brew Pub offers a variety of seasonal and specialty beers that are only available onsite in Ottawa! Located at LeBreton Flats, this 177 year old building is rich in industrial heritage and charm – a unique setting to grab a pint, enjoy innovative food pairings, and even take a brewery tour.
Had brunch at Mill Street Brewing in Ottawa with a beer flight and a pint—everything was delicious, from the food to the drinks. Great spot
Kathleen did a wonderful job! This is my first time at this restaurant and the service alone would make me want to come back. The food was delicious, the ambiance great and Kathleen was able to serve us in french which unfortunately is not always possible in Ottawa. Our group ordered a bunch of the shareables and they were all delicious. My only down side was that the bang bang shrimp was extremely spicy according to one of the people from my group and that was not advertised on the menu.
We had our office Christmas dinner tonight and everything was great. The atmosphere, the food, the service were all top notch. Our server Kathleen was very friendly and shared some great recommendations.
We came here for our team Christmas party in Dec 2024 and my butternut squash ravioli was amazing! I absolutely loved it! Lovely staff Kathleen, very kind and helpful! The view from the window seats was stunning!
I came here with a group of colleagues (6 total) for a holiday lunch. Everything was great! The hostess was very welcoming and the environment/atmosphere was very nice. Our waitress (Deanna) was very friendly and took great care of us. She was often checking in and making sure we had what we needed. The service was also pretty fast. Both the food and drinks were great. I really enjoyed the nachos :)
This restaurant is incredibly amazing. The tables with river view are fantastic. Food was soooo delicious and tasty especially the Elk Burger and Bang Bang Shrimp. Thank you so much EMILY, you made our day great.
This was my second time at a Mill Street Brew Pub, after visiting the one in the Toronto Historic Distillery District—and I loved it again! The historic and picturesque backdrop, cozy yet classy ambiance, well-mannered staff, and delicious food made for a fantastic experience. Truly, one couldn’t ask for more! We visited during Thanksgiving weekend with my colleague and their family, making us a group of four. We ordered a variety of dishes: Chicken and Mushroom Pot Pie, Fried Chicken Sandwich, the Thanksgiving Special Turkey Meal, and the Thanksgiving Special Lamb Meal. I personally tried the Lamb Meal and the Pot Pie. The lamb was tender, and the gravy was absolutely delicious—one of the best I’ve ever had. The pie was also excellent. My colleague and his wife had drinks: the Portage Creme Ale and the Mill St Breeze. According to them, both drinks were really good! Overall, we had a great time, and this place is now on my list of recommended spots for bringing guests and friends visiting us in Ottawa.
Wanted to stop here because we kept driving by it and it looked like a cool old place to eat. It didn't disappoint. We enjoyed the Chicken Mushroom Pot Pie with a side salad. The kids enjoyed their meals and they even offer a Pawtio Menu for furry friends.
Kate was fantastic! She made our friends birthday amazing
Kate was an incredible server and made my friends birthday so exceptional! Thanks Kate for a great night
KATE Was absolutely awesome. In depth knowledge of the menu, answered questions clearly and concisely, and made a connection with our table by sharing her field of study with us. She is clearly an asset to Mill Street on Wellington.
Thank you kate!
Food was great, and Kate was a wonderfully attentive server! She took care of all of our needs and was very nice.
We had lunch on Thursday and Alexa was great. I was wavering on which burger to get and she recommended the elk burger and it was fantastic. Really juicy and flavourful. Alexa was really attentive too. I ll go back soon
Kate was a lovely server and our meals were excellent.
Very cozy and great food n drinks. Our server Alexa was amazing.
Excellent as always. #SukiRules
Suki was great. Fantastic service!
Thank you Bayley!
Had a lovely experience with Bayley who made us so comfortable!
Bayleys the Boss. When she tells you to get the 32oz, just get it.
Mitch our server was amazing. Great food and atmosphere, highly recommended it
Fast, welcoming! The shrimp are just woooooww I recommend 150%
Ryan has been extremely helpful setting up events and always gives great service. Thank you Ryan!
The service was awesome! Alexa was great.
We had a nice lunch. The service was impeccable! Alexa did her thing!
Great food, service (Alexa), and atmosphere for a staff holiday lunch.
The food was really good ! The place has a really nice warm cozy cottage feel, our hostess Alexa was awesome too <3
Solid lunch spot, it was a pleasure to be served by Alexa, who managed a busy Christmas season lunch ably. Food was pleasant, and prices reasonable for the area.
We had our work holiday lunch at your location. We had the pleasure of having Bailey as our server and she was amazing. You can tell she has lots of experience and made our holiday lunch smooth.
Our server James (same name haha) did a wonderful job tonight. Food was also amazing!
Jessie was super nice & the food was awesome! We will definitely be coming back. Cheers
We had our work holiday lunch at Mill Street today. Our server Ky was fantastic. He was attentive to all 14 of us throughout the meal and was super accommodating in taking group photos. We had a great time!
KY was an amazing server, very friendly and attentive. Thanks
Great lunch date with a colleague. Hostess Paige was very friendly. Our server Suki is amazing and hilarious, maybe not always intentionally, but hilarious nonetheless. Had a chat with the general manager who was great. She gave me a little crash course on the history of the building. 10/10 would go back.
Had a great lunch here today, crispy chicken sandwich and the meridian were great, and Shaelah gave excellent service. Will be back!
I recently had my group holiday party at the Mill Street Brew Pub. I have been there before and enjoy the awesome location and ambiance. Unfortunately, the food and service were both notably substandard. We were a group of 8 and the place was not particularly busy. We arrived at 6:00 pm with no table service until 6:30 and no food order until 7:00. Food arrived 45 minutes later and was collectively low end (e.g., cold, soggy fries, low end meat, low end presentation, very slow service, group delivery very spread out). The beer was fine but service was terrible, slow and unenthusiastic - really dampened the holiday spirit. We wont go back. The beer is fine, the facility is great, but the food and service is substandard in my opinion - they need to try harder.
Wonderful service from Bailey!! Loved it
Bailey was amazing. Catered to all our needs and did it with a smile.
Thank you Bailey for a great service!
Our waitress Bayley was amazing! Food arrived quickly & the restaurant was cozy!
Bailey knew what Quality Street was, ssssoooooo...big win.
Bailey slayed our work party. She was detail oriented and friendly. Thanks Bailey!
Had a lovely time here for a work Christmas get together. We had Bailey as a server and she was lovely!
Had one of the best draft beers, brewed on premises. Great location in Ottawa. Friendly knowledgeable staff, Bailey. Highly recommended pub.
Came here for a Christmas party with my colleagues and had a great time! The food was delicious and the drinks were phenomenal. A special mention for our server Ky who was truly amazing and served us with a big smile, which made us smile. All the food he brought out was hot & he didn t leave us waiting for too long.
A great location, great food, great beer and great service! We came for a causy 5a7 and we really enjoyed ourselves! Our server was Ky.
Mitch was fabulous. Thank you
Peter Benson Steven Beyonce Knowles did a fine job serving me the finest beer Ottawa has to offer!
Our server Mitch was great! Very friendly.
Thanks Bailey!!!
Bayley was amazing! Great food, great atmosphere.
Zach is the man working the bar, excellent, professional service
Service was excellent: Ryan was very helpful and efficient. The restaurant is very loud, and we cant hear one another
Bailey was amazing
Bailey was great!
Excellent service by Morgan!!! Great beer and great meal.
Excellent! First time but certainly not the last! The beer and the meal were delicious! Thanks to Morgan for the service!
Dined there on the first day of the holiday tax break and they still charged tax on the meal. Server seemed clueless on the situation. No issues at other restaurants, just here.
Morgan was fantastic!
Morgan is a joy! Sat in the back area with colleagues and she was very attentive and knew the menu well!
Went for a Christmas party. Beer is as expected if youve ever had it. Food was excellent and very reasonably priced. Service was really good especially considering we were a large group. The place was clean and nice.
Had a great time being served by Bailey, she was fast, friendly, and had all the answers to questions about the menu. She was quick to grab us refills, and even brought us some bonus fries! We had a large group, and the food came out hot and fast! Been here many times, and I m never let down. Thanks Bailey!
Alexa was great!
Alexa was an amazing server who put up with a lot of overly enthusiastic lads celebrating a birthday and did it all with great politeness and class. Thanks, Alexa!
Alexa did amazing! Great elk, great beer
Fantastic service (thanks to Alexa). The short rib her recommendation was excellent.
Kira was a fantastic server. Quick with our orders, already ready to replenish drinks. A fantastic time for our team Christmas lunch. Thanks Kira
Deanna was an super friendly person and made my stay very very good. I am excited to come back
Deanna was a good server
Great feel inside this century building with the river flowing. Great staff
Our server, Deanna, was awesome. She took good care of our group and her food recommendations were top notch. Thanks for a great time!
Nice restaurant, Morgan served us and we had an amazing experience. I would take a bullet for her.
Food was delicious and our waiter, Morgan, was great. I m visiting from the States, and am glad to have spent time at Mill Street
Thank you so much to Morgan and the Mill Street Pub, for the amazing service and copious amounts of garlic bread. Seriously, from the second we walked in, until the moment we left Morgan and crew were helpful, nice and professional. The food was great, and the menu had so many options to choose from. We ll be back soon and can t wait to see all the friendly servers!
Excellent food and service. Thank you for everything Kate :)
Shoutout to Kate ! Happy Birthday
Great place
Had an amazing experience. Bayley was our server she did an amazing job. We were well taken care of! :)
Bayley is a great waitress! Super friendly and great atmosphere. Would recommend
Had a work lunch here with some colleagues. We were served by Bayley. The service was excellent and the food was great.
Thank to our server Ky for a great time tonight! The service was amazing!
Had Ky as a server! He did so great!
Ky was super nice and took great care during our staff party! Great beer , awesome service !
Amazing food and amazing service, start to stuffed! Thanks Amy & Kathleen!!
Great night, incredible view and our server Kathleen was awesome! And special mention to the manager Amy, for the laughs and super service.
James was awesome! And we had a great booth! He accommodated me with all my ridiculous requests!! Thanks James!
Good experience with Kathleen! I would go back without hesitation!
Excellent service from Kathleen, very smiling and friendly
Great service from Kathleen! Thank you for the welcome!
Great service from Jessie! She was proactive in her service and very welcoming. Got the Brewmaster s burger, it was delicious.
Jessie was the best server. Great times!
Dropped in for a quick lunch! Beer was cold, food was tasty, and our server (Bayley) was terrific!
Great fast service & great tasty food!
Deanna was a great waitress and the food was wonderful. Would come again.
Had a great lunch with friends! Alexa was awesome, and saved us from the Grinch several times.
A nice spot for lunch or dinner, although a good walk from downtown. The food was decent but not a much of a selection on the menu. Mill Street beer is always great.
Deanna served and we are all very happy with the courteous service! Great atmosphere, staff and food ! Thank you
Food was excellent, the beer selection was great. Our server Ryan suggested a beer that paired really well with my entree. Will be coming back.
The service staff were great, very helpful and kind. The atmosphere was ok, the music was a bit club like and loud for a cozy location. The food was disappointing, the kids burger was so much bun and a really small patty that didnt even come close to the size of the bun.the smokehouse burger was the same for the patty but also over cooked, no flavor and tough. Very little of the lettuce or onion. The peameal was so tough I couldnt bite through it. Just disappointing. The beer was good. Ultimatly if youre going to charge $25 for a burger it better not make me wish I had just gone to five guys. With the restaurant game becoming so expensive we probably wont be back since well get better value for our money elsewhere.
This Ottawa pub has an old world charm reminiscent of Old Montreal and Le Vieux Québec. On the several occasions we ve visited, the food has consistently been of superior quality and the staff is warm, caring and friendly. We extend our gratitude to manager Katya for her exceptional service. Big bonus: The parking is free whether outside or in the indoor parking lot further back on the property. We look forward to our next visit!
Great service, great food, let s eat. Thanks to our waiter James who was very kind!
Shane was great!
Kathleen provided us with superb quality service.
PSA. They never heard of the tax break thats in effect so they are charging taxes.
Kid-friendliness: Kathleen was an amazing waitress and very professional. I and my friend really had a good time here, and we so much loved the meal and the cocktail. I highly recommend this restaurant
Great place to hangout. They also host event, which is a big plus.
This place is a Hazard for allergies. Menu says gluten free, but they use same fryers for gluten. And on top of that, brunch is way overpriced and they will charge you for coffee when you eat breakfast..... Incredible.
The place is nice, service was very good but the food was not on par with those inflated prices. 20 something dollards for a handful of fried wings with a sauce, almost 30 bucks for a club sandwich not that special with a handful of fries, plate looked empty. 2 our of friends ordered pizza the size of a hand for 27$ each that was undercook, they had to return it back to the kitchen and they are not picky eaters. Beers was ok. Its been years since i went there and now i remember why. I do not recommend at all
Suki our waitress took care of business with our large party. We had a lovely time
Vegetarian options: We had a great team lunch and it was fabulous. She suggested a double wine and I agreed :) Food
It s always a pleasure coming here. Today was no exception. Staff was warm and welcoming and the establishment was decorated tastefully for the holidays. Our server was extraordinary. Jessie was attentive, knowledgeable and treated us so well. I had brought my 93 year old grandmother and we have a lovely lunch. Thanks mill street!
Excellent views of the river, food was quite good and service was great!
Jessie was great, super accommodating and friendly. Food and view were also great.
I was quite disappointed this evening I was part of a large party and while everyones food looked plenty my Ravioli was absolutely delicious but very few (5) my dish was very small and unfilling. Im not sure I would go back my portion couldnt justify the high price. But then again why did I pick pasta in a pub
I used to love Mill Street Brew Pub but in recent times the pricing is absurd and the meal quantity has also reduced. Service and Ambience is great as usual but prices are 2x compared to other equivalent pubs
Had a great time, service was great. Spoke with Amy for a little while to hear about the history of the building. Beers were fantastic, with lots of choice.
Its been about 25 years since the last time I was here, and it still lives up to Its reputation. Wonderfum view of the Ottawa river. Great service. Good food. Food
The beer brined chicken and the mashed potatoes were yummy!
Great hidden gem Chicken nachos is highly recommended Food
A lovely location with great food! We got there late after a dinner rush and they were out of some things but the service was still great
Cute little brewery with attentive service with a smile. The poutine however was nothing to write home about. Even though Quebec can be seen by the window and the cheese curds are advertised from there, it looked more like a soup of melted cheese and gravy than a poutine. The Elk burger was alright.
Was here for a private party and the staff handled the large crowd very well
Decent burger, but extremely slow service even mid-afternoon.
My chicken sandwich was over-cooked and hard to eat - we couldn t get another beer the waitress disappeared a d only came back after a break to take our money. The beer was warm anyway so it wasn t great. Wouldn t recommend this place.
I ordered the squash salad which suppose to have squash (one would expect) and seeds. It was full of red cabbage which wasn t even cut properly and had two large slices of the core. There was tiny (and I mean tiny) prices of around 10 squares, no seeds and barely any dressing. This is really unacceptable from a well established restaurant. Highly disappointed and will never return again
Fish was good but fries were cold. Everything else we ordered was underwhelming. Server was rude. Will not be returning.
We had a blast. Suki was such a great server, and looked after our party.
Here for lunch while in Ottawa for a friends bachelor. Amazing service by Suki. Food was great and had a schooner - beer of the day brewed in house which was delicious. Everything was great, highly recommend !
Staff is very Nice !
Beautiful surroundings, nice decor and good beer. Attention no so good
I have been back a few times. Nice variety, tasty. Staff are excellent thank you TAYLOR
Bayley was so kind, and the food was great. Wanna come back again!
Go Bayley!
Great service from Blainy , had the crispy chicken burger , good burger but the chicken chunks where a bit large and keep falling out from the bread , fries could ha e been good but they were stale tasting and kinda cool , surprised since it was lunch hour
Bayley Suk
The Oreo cheesecake was insane!! Attending a work lunch at this location. Our waitress Bayley was attentive and helpful.
I was there for a company lunch. I had the poke bowl, it was good. The waitress Bayley treated us incredible well. Food : 5/5
I had the fish and chips, followed by the Oreo cheesecake, at Mill Street, and both were enjoyable. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and our server, Bayley, provided excellent service attentive and helpful throughout our meal. I came here with my work colleagues for our end-of-year lunch, and we had a wonderful time. It was a great spot for our gathering, and I d happily come back again!
Great place to go and sit and visit with friends over some good beer and good food. Real nice atmosphere. The staff is great. The single best pretzel in ottawa if not ontario. Parking is challenging during peak periods so plan accordingly.
Great range of own beers as well as very good food
Average food, good choice of beers and good quality. Service a little slow and in some cases distracted. Overall ok!!
Food was mediocre. The calamari were small but the sauce was flavorful. The salmon poke bowl was bland, dry and uninspiring. The chocolate cake was dry Probably defrosted at the beginning of the week. The berry coulis was flavorless. The spicy Caesar was average and barely had any steak spice rimmer and only had a spicy pickled bean. All in all it was disappointing. The servers were however very nice. Vegetarian options: There was a vegetarian menu and the prices seemed reasonable for what you would get.
Loved our table overlooking the water, poke bowl was really nice
Had a wedding in the upstairs hall.Great food and the service was outstanding! Also, the selection of house beers is very good, and I really enjoyed the October Fest brew.
Edit: after posting my initial review, we were invited back to give it another go. The difference was night and day. The food was great, the dessert was amazing and the service was attentive without being overbearing. The name of the server on the bill was Alexa so I hope Im virtually high fiving the right person: she was great and the whole experience was positively delightful. Kids were super happy. Adults were super happy. Would definitely go back. Theres an Oktoberfest menu that was enjoyed by most members of our party (the pescatarian in our party passed on the offerings) and given how well it was received by even the pickiest kids, Id say give it a shot before its gone. _______________________________________________ Ive been to Mill Street for drinks and have always enjoyed the experience. Id go back again, but just for drinks. We took the kids for a late lunch and met extended family. We were a party of 7. Our server wasnt having his best day. He might be great other days. Three of the plates ordered needed to be sent back or modified to reflect what was actually ordered. French fries were soggy and very oily. The Buddha Bowl was hard to eat. The kale pieces were huge, the hummus stuck in the middle and didnt stir without coming out of the bowl (and going all over the table). A wider bowl, rather than a tall and narrow one, would help that dish. Beer was great. Water wasnt refilled. All the stuff that comes with the kids menu was not honoured (drink and Rice Krispies treat). Overall, while a nice, clean place. Our meals were not worth the price. We are very happy to pay for good food and service; unfortunately, this was not the case.
The staff here was wonderful - pleasant and helpful. Service was great. Everyone in our party of 4 ordered a meal from the Oktoberfest menu, and nobody was disappointed - the food was delicious. A great selection of beer, of course! Well definitely visit again.
Enjoyed some drinks and food at the bar at Mills Street. Peter and Tristan both provided excellent service to us. They went the extra mile to ensure we had everything we needed. Absolutely 5 star service!
Superb terrace, dog friendly :) and the food was really good!! Especially the Korean fried chicken burger is so good!
My husband, our dog and I were there yesterday afternoon in their patio for lunch. The service was very very slow - we considered getting up and leaving at one point. In addition, my husband was brought the wrong meal. We notified the waitress, who did apologize many times, however we were not going to wait, again, for them to make the new correct meal. In the end, they did not offer any compensation for our sub-par experience and we ended up having to pay for the more expensive wrong meal. We were very disappointed by our experience there, and unfortunately we will not recommend this restaurant or go back.
Octofest in progress... got souvenir glasses by ordering a specific beer. Pizza and pasta were good. Nachos were good too Vegetarian options: Nachos, pastas, pizzas, garden salad, poutine french fries and more... Parking: 20+ slots Kid-friendliness: Dont think so as it is a bar Wheelchair accessibility: Yes
Worst experience of my life I was cut off after 1 beer and told to leave after telling me they have dealt with my kind before and that I wasn t welcomed and I m a British man and I ve never seen such a horrible host amy as she stated that Service
In the restaurant with my family wating 45 for our drinks then asked us to pay for the food before we ordered the audacity never heard of that before the service was very bad and we won t be back again definitely not recommended this is apauling
Pleasant place for an outside lunch in early Fall
Nice place, nice beer and food. Price as usual. Good place for a moment of rest
We arrived after 10pm so they were only serving late night menu. Food was yum - recommend the poutine, bam bam shrimp and the Korean BBQ wings. We didn t drink but they look like they have a good variety. Would definitely come back for a beer and some nibbles.
The atmosphere was so good yesterday we went back today for lunch. Buffalo chicken pizza was unreal with the beer flight.
Above average everything, not 5 stars, but a solid 4 for pub atmosphere and experience
I brought my parents here to meet my in laws before my upcoming wedding, vibes were perfect and there was something for everyone on the menu. Even an impressive vegetarian/vegan selection! Will be back, great service, prices and location.
Had a work meal there, 26 of us. Service by Natasha was awesome, everything went smoothly. Wedding in second floor was a little loud when trying to have conversation. Would definitely recommend it again.
I went in on Tuesday night for a social function and of course wanted to try their food. I was familiar with Mill St. through some of their alcoholic apple ciders, but they only had one on the menu in-restaurant compared to their online menu. A bit of a shame, but whatchagonnado? Since the only cider on tap was one Id had before, I decided to go for a Beer Flight to try out four of their various beers. More on that in a second. Having looked at the online menu, I wanted to go for either the Elk Burger or the Korean Fried Chicken Sandwich, and the elk burger won me over because as my server, Charlotte, explained, it really is elk meat, and not just a name they give the burger! Delicious and juicy with a unique taste that tells you it isnt beef but that isnt gamey or a bad aftertaste at all! Id definitely get it again. The fries reminded me of Swiss Chalets fries, though they were smaller and drier, for lack of a better word. When I say drier, I mean that they werent oily or bulging or anything like that. They werent dry in the sense that they were super chewy, they were maybe just dried a teeny-tiny bit too much before frying. Still great fries! I enjoyed them a lot and only wish I had more! ;) Given that theyre a brewery, I imagine the beer to be the major draw, so let me talk about the flight I got. As you can see in the photo, and if you refer to the menu, you get four 5 oz samples of beer for a combined total of 20 oz. Now, its the same price as a large mug, but you get less overall, but if youre interested in trying out four of the beers they have on offer without having to get a full glass/mug/pitcher of a single kind, this is the way to go. (The glasses are also super cute and I loved them!) I tried the Portage, the Mango March, the Orange Citrus, and the Cobblestone Stout. Mango March - 1/5 - I wouldnt bother. The mango taste is so faint it might as well have not been there. I realize its a gimmick, and I wasnt exactly expecting a flavoured beer, but I wouldve liked some consistent flavour throughout. It had a wheat-y aftertaste that I really didnt care for. Orange Citrus Wheat - 3/5 - Not bad by any stretch, but I couldnt any any orange or citrus. It was a fine beer, but there wasnt any taste of the gimmick, so Id give this a pass, honestly. Portage Cream Ale - 4/5 - Its a little basic all things considered, but its light and easy to drink. Your beeriest beer of the four, but if youre there, youre better off getting the stout! Cobbestone Stout - 5/5 - Absolutely DELICIOUS! Id recommend this to anyone and everyone. Im not super-experienced, but Ive had a Guinness before, and this would be my preference. It isnt heavy, its super smooth, and very tasty. Easy to drink and something different than your basic beers. If I go back, Im definitely getting this. Charlotte, my server, was excellent and a real sweetheart. I arrived about 30 minutes late to the function, but I was definitely taken care of when it came to food and drink and I was even able to ask her for recommendations when it came to the beer. If I remember right, she recommended the Orange Citrus. The ambience is lovely, the food is really good, but certain things can be a tad pricey. I opted against dessert because I couldnt possibly justify spending $12 on the toffee pudding Id wanted. The elk burger is $25, and worth it, Id say, but save it for a special occasion. Overall excellent, would recommend, but know going in that certain things are pricey for good reason! Parking: While I didnt drive in, I was told by another member of the group I was patronizing the pub with that there was plenty of parking available. Id suggest calling to double check. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible with power doors, I went in with a cane and didnt have any serious trouble. (One of my legs fell asleep because I happened to be sitting on a tall chair wrong, and thats totally on me and not the establishment.)
Wheelchair accessibility: Service
Great place
Great place to meet up with friends And enjoy great food and beverages Thanks Food : 5/5
Ive been here several times in various times of the year and its always a safe choice for a decent meal with a nice ambience. Outdoor seating is pleasant when available. And the indoor seating offers nice views of the Ottawa River year round. Service was friendly but a bit disorganized on my most recent visit.
Plenty of other places to eat in Ottawa. Don t waste your time here. An hour wait to get appetizers and drinks. Ridiculous.
Ive been here a few times over the years and its always been consistently good, but tonight warrants the review. The place was absolutely packed and I could see the staff were all moving constantly. Our server, Josh, seemed to be serving a lot of tables, but he still made sure to be kind and attentive to us. The wait for food and drinks was admittedly longer than normal, but it didnt feel like a normal night. I can imagine the staff were stressed but they never let it show when they interacted with guests, and I respect that. If any of the staff reads this, you did a great job and well be returning again!
On the pricey side but the food and view are worth it
We had our wedding reception here over 40 years ago and it was beautiful! We recently moved near by so we plan on having our yearly anniversary dinner here.
Love this place! Nestled in the ruins of an old mill, it s right on the bike path. There is free parking as well. Great selection of food and beer wine and other alcoholic drinks. It s a one of a kind experience. Always great friendly service.
We are SO happy we went with Mill St. for our wedding reception venue! We wanted a place with amazing food, minimal decor needs, and that wouldnt break the bank - and Mill St. was just perfect. Our coordinator was Christine and was so helpful throughout the whole process. She was super flexible, fun to work with, and helped make our day so special and relaxed. We only had 45 people so made creative use of the space (which can seat about twice as many people) by having a large U-shaped table for all our guests and a dance floor beside. We were so impressed with the food and loved that we were able to play our own music rather than having a DJ. The Mill St. team did all the decor set-up (we provided instructions) and takedown, and everything was just what we wanted. All that, and it was more affordable than lots of other places we looked at. We recommend this place so highly!
Wheat beers, calamari (made on site), and yam fries, all delicious. Wait staff was excellent, great recommendation on the beers. Very cool location.
Was great! We had flights so we could try some things. In the end we picked up 2 cans from the retail store. Recommendation: cream ale and brown ale!
My wife and I enjoyed a nice dinner here. Easy to park and a great atmosphere!
We had a great meal on the patio on a beautiful warm evening. Our meal started with calamari, my husband had a burger & poutine. I had the salmon. We shared the sticky toffee complemented with a fresh brew of decaf coffee. Our service was excellent, our waiter was prompt and friendly. We also had the opportunity to meet the manager Amy, she is cheerful and clearly devoted to ensuring every customer is satisfied with their dining experience. Great job team! Oh & there s free parking! We ll definitely be back! Parking: They have 2 free parking lots on site.
Had the elk burger, was the best burger Ive ever had.
Food was pretty good. Service was friendly, a bit slow when busy. Location is easy to get to via transit.
I met Amy the manager and was served liked a king and Suki and her staff where above and beyond you know the food was done by real chefs and the kitchen served it liked a 5 star thank you of taking care of me and my staff
Jessie was great
Jessie was a great server!
Jessie was a great server! Food was great too :)
+1 to jessie praise.
My mom has dementia so service means a lot to us when we go out. Every staff member we interacted with were really friendly. We didnt feel rushed, and my mom made a request which the hostess accommodated immediately. Our server Bayley Suk was wonderful and made our experience really positive. My mom needs a back cushion when she sits and the tables were set up that she could eat inside or on the patio which has not been a guarantee this summer. Also, full washrooms on the main floor. Appreciate the accessibility. Food was good! Had their taco special and a Jackalope beer. I love a hazy IPA and I would definitely order this one again!
We were a group of 4 and loved the tacos (all of them!). We were served by the lovely Jessie - great service!
