Good Eats Cafe - Breakfast - Lunch - Catering - Desserts - Vegan - Omnivore - Gluten Free - HEALTHY
Absolutely delicious food at an affordable price. I was able to study for an exam while eating a delicious BLT with housemade vegetarian bacon (made delectably seasoned, crispy rice paper); a bean taco, taking advantage of the Taco Tuesday deal; and a lovely egg sandwich with the aforementioned bacon. The staff were incredibly friendly with phenomenal recommendations. I love this cafe, and will return!
Good Eats Cafe is one of my new favorite spots in Ottawa. The food is fantastic, the atmosphere is lovely, the art exhibits are a real treat, and the service is top notch!
Chicken club was so incredible! My friend got the BLT and said it was the best she ever had. Fast friendly service very cute little spot! Will definitely be back soon
I used to like this place but honestly the quality has gone down and the portions as well. I ordered a Caesar salad entree to go (there was a side salad option) and i got a tiny container even though i paid for the entrée portion. I also ordered a sandwich the other day and the bread was so old and hard to eat it was drenched in oil to make it soft only on one side. Extremely disappointed.
Solid 3.8 stars. Kind of pricey for the portion, but taste is quite good. We had… - chicken & waffles: juicy chicken, waffles was a bit soft, but not the end of the world. - BLT: veggies were fresh, the bread was a bit hard, but that’s just the nature of healthier bread. - salmon egg benedict: eggs were perfect runny, hollandaise sauce was runnier than usual but generous amounts, 7 grain bread (see BLT comment above). Clean washrooms! Very nice staff. You seat yourself and order at the bar table.
We are in town visiting and stopped in for breakfast, really glad we did..... The service was great, so friendly. The food was amazing, I had the mushroom melt, my wife had the breakfast bowl, and my daughter had a tropical smoothie with a croissant, everything was amazing. Definitely will be returning and we have already told or friends and family in Ottawa they have to go check it out.
Found this hidden gem last week with a friend and we fell in love. The owner Karen is an absolutely gem- she was very personable and kind. Everything made in house- baked goods, breads and their syrups for coffee/tea. Many vegan/vegetarian options available. They even make their own vegan bacon from rice paper!! All the dishes we ordered were absolutely delicious. Looking forward to coming back and trying out their whole menu.
Not your average breakfast spot. This high quality cafe made my meal to-order. COVID protocols were closely followed and lots of spacious seating to keep your physical distance. The latte was hot, and breakfast bowl freshly prepared. This place has a small bakery in-house and boasts a great vegetarian, vegan, and regular/meat menu options. Highly recommend for a casual healthy and fulfilling meal. Great value!
Very good food . Excellent sandwich.
Amazing gf and has amazing chai
the food is frozen and service was mid
Terrible food and overpriced. Not great quantity either.
Good food, fast service. Pet friendly space and amazing staff
My Mom and Nana got one breakfast bowl, one without mushrooms and one with. And I got the fruit & granola bowl as well as the green goddess drink, though it could use a bit of sweetness. All in all, we had a great time and enjoyed the food. Vegetarian options: There are several vegetarian options, and there really good
Honey low-key atmosphere. Had savoury crepe - delicious and large portion. Good coffee too.
Excellent, nothing to say
They are amazing in every sense of the word
Excellent vegan food stop, friendly and good service.
Excellent service. Very kind staff. Good food! They make their own gluten free bread and bagels Parking: Had to park up a side street
I went for a Saturday brunch and the eggs Benedict were te-rri-ble. The hollandaise sauce was lacking acidity (please add some drops of lemon or vinegar!) and coagulated. I truly appreciate that they serve them with a side of green salad! So refreshing.
Stopped for a quick bite at 2 pm. Only breakfast menu served till 3. Way too long for breakfast, imo. But nothing else tickled our fancy, so we left. Also, I didnt like the young lady sleeping in the corner. Seemed less than I would expect for this type of restaurant. Very friendly guy at the front but the f bomb also turned us off while he was speaking to another customer. We left without eating. Will try again someday, but till then, this is my view.
The best vegan breakfast in town! Loved the atmosphere, portions and prices.
Great little gem in Ottawa with excellent food and a great atmosphere. I only wish parking was easier to find in the area.
My matcha latte was grainy and tasted fishy. Why??
I was really happy to find a place that offered vegan breakfast (bacon and eggs), but $40 later, I left disappointed and still hungry.
Lovely staff, great food, cool layout, and design. The only criticism, and Vits a small one, is that I am super lazy and here, you need to order at the counter. Still, they were able to accommodate my eating needs and they did so cheerfully. Not expensive either. Well done.
Im very dissapointed with their service, Ive been a loyal customer for years however when I called to place an order they were short with me and me feel like I was bothering them. When I went to pay for my meal, I noticed that they also over charged me? When I first going there they were very friendly, Ive noticed a decline in their service. From now on Im going to starbucks, just because I get better service and they go the extra mile to make you feel appropriated.
Freshly cooked, delicious food & coffee. Given how few customers were there, not brilliant attention to detail. Friendly service though.
Great breakfast
Excellent rapport qualité prix. Ma place préférée pour brunch vegan depuis plusieurs années. Ambiance agréable et tranquille. Les propriétaires sont surplace. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free, Dairy free
Food is good Parking not so good Quick and friendly service Food : 4/5
Fantastic brunch with friendly staff and a warm inviting atmosphere!! Highly recommend to all!!
Good Eats Cafe is THE meeting place for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is a licensed cafe with a home-cooked food-forward menu. Near the 417 near Bronson, its accessible, and my first choice in the area to settle my stomach. :)
I didn t like and I wouldn t recommend this place. When you come in you have to make your order and pay at the cashier. We waited for our meal more than 30 minutes. Eggs Benedict were cold and awful, salmon smelled bad. Soy milk wasn t fresh and after adding to coffee it curdled.
Was quite a comfortable spot with great staff and snacks. Will definitely return.
We ordered the vegan breakfast bowls and they were delicious, albeit quite salty. The service was friendly and prompt. The problem is price and value for money. The bowls were almost $17 each, but the portions were small. For that price, there at least should have been some toast included as the bowls werent very filling. For that reason alone, I doubt we will return.
Good Eats catered our staff event, that was held in a log cabin just outside of Manotick. All of the 16 people in attendance were beyond thrilled with their offerings. We had both breakfast and lunch = beautifully presented, amazing flavours, with generous servings. Well be calling on them again!
Lived in the building for years and have experienced all the menu changes and the bald chefs attitude. They have a reliable filter coffee and some tasty breakfast options for vegetarians. All Im gunna say is dont make Uber an available option for ordering for pickup and then berate the customer for doing so.
Gluten free donuts and bread available, good vegan options and sweet potato toast, which is a new fun experience. Also vegan bacon, which is nice for the pink oinky friends who love potatoes, too
Found God Eats cafe with my friend. Vegan bowl w gluten free toast was cooked so yummy. Ill visit this place again.
Poor brunch and they don t know how to do the Benedictine , normal coffee, old chairs
Well, so amazing!!!! Have the vegan breakfast bowl!!! Will be going back!!
UPDATE - please dont offer avocado toast on the menu if you are going to barely put a layer of avocado (similar to butter) that is also browned. 10.25 for this is absurd. Also, this isnt guacamole, avocado should have texture. Vegan breakfast bowl is amazing; 5 stars for that. I love the tomato chutney. I have had some quality control issues with some past orders - i.e. granola and yogurt had no berries and was all yogurt, smoothie tasted bad one time, so cant give 5 stars overall
My wife and I love this place. Weve been here many times. Its a wonderful combination of chill and laid back, low prices, healthy, delicious food, and friendly staff.
Title: Unforgettable Dining Experience at Good Eats Cafe Review: From the name itself, Good Eats Cafe sets high expectations, and trust me, they deliver! My numerous visits to this delightful cafe have been a gastronomic adventure. The menu at Good Eats is diverse, offering a wide range of options from hearty breakfasts to satisfying lunches, and delicious dinners. One of the standout features of the cafe is their commitment to freshness. Each dish bursts with flavor, showcasing the quality of their locally-sourced ingredients. Whether its the fluffy pancakes served with a side of crisp bacon for breakfast, a delectable sandwich for lunch, or a beautifully cooked steak for dinner, Good Eats Cafe never disappoints. Their beverage selection is just as impressive. From fresh fruit juices to exquisite coffees, and a thoughtful selection of wines and beers, theres a drink to pair perfectly with any meal. The atmosphere in Good Eats Cafe is warm and inviting, with a decor that strikes the perfect balance between chic and comfortable. The staff is always friendly, efficient, and happy to offer recommendations or accommodate any dietary restrictions. Additionally, the prices at Good Eats Cafe are reasonable, especially given the high quality of food and the exceptional service.
I love good eats. I dont live in the building but when you hang out you see a bunch of residents. Good for people watching. The prices are low, portions are big. The breakfast sandwich is tasty and has a LOT of egg.
I have eaten here at this little gem for the past four days! Such fresh ingredients, fair pricing and great options. Quesadilla, healthy bowls and breakfast is amazing too. Keep it up only request is that you get a few dessert items maybe cheesecake and ice cream :)
The location was perfect as I was staying in the apartment building, however the resturant was quite dirty. We had ordered coffee in which the creamer was spoiled. After notifying the owner, we were yelled at and then apologized to which was an odd experience. Would not recommend if you have the ability to go elsewhere
For dine in, Billing should be at the end .. can be tipped at the end based on the service not earlier.. Salmon was missing when requested for fully cooked salmon in sandwich..
Wife and I looked for a suitable place to eat on our first night on Canada. This place filled the bill. She loved her smoothie and sandwich and I indulged in their breakfast bowl which was delicious and decadent. Very courteous service.
Everything we got here was wonderful. Got a chicken squishwhich and mango rice bowl. One of the best Sammies Ive had in a bit. Fries are also dank. Owner was lovely Vegetarian options: Lots of veggie options
Had the breakfast bowl and it was SO good! Definitely recommend. Loved all the extra veg you wouldnt normally get with a regular restaurant breakfast.
I had the breakfast bowl here and it was delicious. Service was great. Very underrated spot!
Delicious food. Lots of vegan options. I had the Vegan Benny and it was delicious. The staff made the experience great too. One of the people working was doing everything I swear, working his butt off. Doesnt go unnoticed. Would definitely visit again
That Mushroom melt is 10 dollars and it s so dry. Seriously it doesn t seem right.
The very friendly staff provided really great service with amazing explanations of vegan and gluten-free options. Food, was very tasty and prices were very comparable. All baked goods, sauces etc are made on site.
Locally owned. Nearly everything made fresh and from scratch, including vegan pesto, homemade peanut butter, gluten-free bread, gf English muffins and gf pastries. Excellent quality. Friendly service. Dietary restrictions: Staff happily accomodate dietary restrictions. Restaurant caters to vegan and to gluten free clientele.
We used Good Eats for our catering. Food and service was excellent. Thank you for making our meeting a fantastic one. Our committee members where very impressed with the quality of the food. I highly recommend Good Eats Cafe!!
Love this shop, they have a decent variety of healthy food, vegan as well. The employees are pretty friendly and the atmosphere is quite cozy.
Great place to eat
Basic food options and coffee was pretty decent. I went there because every other cafe in the area was busy while this place was completely vacant.
The vegan breakfast bowl was good, though nothing to write home about. Potatoes, tofu scramble, guac, salsa, rice paper bacon. I might have it again if Im in the area but wouldnt go out of my way. Vegetarian options: Good vegan and vegetarian options
Always friendly and helpful and quick staff. Food very good (many items ordered over several weeks of visits). Sometimes they run out of supplies for some menu items.
Unfortunately, that day, the food was too oily. We ordered battered fish, and the food quantity wasn t worth the price we paid. The smoothies were good though! There s lots of place to sit, and atmosphere is serene and quiet. Also, more seafood options would be very nice! Food : 3/5
Nice people and good food at good price
Great spot for breakfast!
Had Trevor s nachos, you can really tell why they re named after him, he s so strong and sturdy. What a guy Trevor is, got some spice to him too
Great Crepes and loved tea in a China pot!
Excellent service and great food quality
Loved this cafe. Friendly staff great coffee, and a nice buzz with people passing through. Cassandra behind the bar was fab. You also have to say hello to the Disco Leopard from Islamabad!
Nice people serving you, heathy food option. Loved the affordable art on all the walls which helps to support local artists.
What a find... a Centertown gem! The breakfast bowl was great and their homemade hot sauce will wake you right up!!!
I love this place. Great stop for a coffee and a bite to eat. It s really quirky that it s in the LIV apartment because it gives it a young and vibrant clientele and I feel it has longer opening hours because of this. I like it lots will be there again.
Im just a visitor to Ottawa, but this might have been the highlight of my trip. The food was exceptionally good. If we come back to Ottawa, Im going to be sure to come back for brunch before we drove back home again.
Had the vegan Benny and it was very disappointing, flavourless tofu on dried toast. I didn t eat it. They apparently ran out of vegan bacon but didn t charge me less or sub anything else. I ordered a large latte and they brought me a medium. I spent $26 and was hungry and disappointed after. Response to owner: Hi Karen, thanks for your response. I don t live nearby so I don t think I ll be in the neighbourhood soon to take you up on your offer. I do appreciate it but I didn t leave a review in order to get a free meal.
In search for weekend brunch this place came up we thought of trying it out. Parking in streets is not existent. Had really look at side streets a bit far to get one. All the nearby spots are reserved for the apartment dwellers in the building. Ordered a Huevo Ranchero ($16) - which came with scrambled eggs two corn tortillas with salsa, cheese, sour cream and a side order of fries. The eggs could have used some seasoning even with salsa it needed something extra A Vegan Breakfast Bowl ($14) - a mixture of tofu, spinach, mushrooms and tomato chutney - which somehow tasted to all 4 of us like onion chutney. The vegetables done good, but tofu again had just no flavour. Tofu had a spice rub all over, but it tasted like plain tofu. The Bacun strips were rice paper rolls with some attempted flavours but none came through. And two Vegan Bennies ($16) - a super grainy slice of bread topped with the same tofu, green onions, Bacun and some red pepper strips (NOT Coulis as described in the menu). If some person was having a tofu dish for the first time I think they would describe tofu as no flavour at all. We vegans know that you can do amazing things with Tofu. The home fries in the above dishes was the best - now that we could give 5 out 5. All of us had to go and get Sriracha and Ketchup from the counter to rescue the dishes. Coffee was too weak as well. When you go in and order on the counter and you get food delivered to your table. Should the restaurant still offer to tip on the machine BEFORE even we were served? The order did take a long time, the table not clean when we sat, no condiments on the table and coffee refills slow. An extra star for giving tons of vegan options
We ordered lunch for our team, amazingly delicious. They were able to cater to the dietary needs of our staff including gluten free. The lemon bar is to die for! Professional and friendly staff. Will order from them again and again! Thank you!!
Have gotten the takeout breakfast bowls (VEGAN ONE IS SO GOOD!) here a couple of times now and the service is fast, the food is delicious, the employees are lovely, and the atmosphere is beautiful. Lovely patio, too! I believe there is an accessible entrance for the inside as well, although I am not sure how it works.
Super slow service. Needed to wait a lot just to ask if they had availability.
I have had a few things from here and it is okay! The poutine made vegan is a huge disappointment lol they literally use mini cubes of tofu instead of a vegan cheese which makes it more like fries, gravy and some protein.
Had the breakfast bowl. I ve never had something with this combination of flavours, and balanced so well. Will have it again. Staff are friendly.
Took an hour to receive 4 coffees.
If you want to wait ONE HOUR for your iced coffee, this is the place to go. Definitely do not recommend. The pastries are dry and wrapped in plastic foil, they are not fresh. The 3 staff were hiding in the back most of the time.
Very nice small cafe. Breakfast is very good, fresh squeezed orange juice. They have a variety of cookies, scones and other baked goodies. Wait time is a bit long at times but its worth it.
Scone is not a scone - more like stale bread. Service very poor. Tip at least 15% but we had to go up to the counter and remind them to pass us our scone (which was asked to be warmed but became cold again). Tea not brought to table so had to go up again and ask for it. The additional star is because it is clearly management issue.
I saw one of the employee poking her nose in the back. Then she started making someone s food order without washing her hands. I only took a coffee and started watching. There was an older lady sitting with her laptop who I believe is the owner. Then she got up to help a customer, took the order and started touching food without washing her hands. I m sure it s like that in most kitchens but it s different when you see it with your own eyes. It s just unacceptable.
If it takes you more than 15 minutes to make a smoothie it better be good which wasn t near to be good. We were told not to wait behind the counter in a very aggressive way. Go sit down and we will bring it to you is word by word what we were told and when it was finally ready somebody just yelled out it s ready . All of that was for a tasteless smoothie which my wife had to toss it after a single sip. I tried it too and it was awful. At least the coffee wasn t that bad so one star can go for the coffee. They really need to learn more about customer service and work on their speed or at least make things taste good. I ll give it another try soon.
We stopped here on our way home from Ottawa and glad we did. The crepes were bigger than I expected and they were amazing. The fresh fruit bowl was good as well and so were the smoothies. Definitely check out this hidden jem in Ottawa, especially if youre looking for a nice healthy breakfast.
Love this place
Get their avocado toast on a slab of roasted sweet potato! (They also carry GF bread, but trust me... avocado on sweet potato toast is an amazing combo). For the avocado, they smash it right there so its fresh, with hand squeezed lemon juice. Super fresh ingredients, made with care. Their carrot turmeric ginger smoothie is the bomb too! Grateful for many vegan & GF options here. Thank you, Good Eats Cafe!
Amazing place especially for breakfast. I came Wednesday it was all good except the service by one of the guys. He was kinda rude for no reason. However next a day I went and there was a guy (with glasses) and he was very helpful and respectful.
They have plenty of vegan brunch items on their menu (weekends only?). Tried the Vegan Benny and it was pretty good. The only complaint is the several small flies roaming around our table, which was unpleasant.
We had such a lovely experience at Good Eats Cafe. We were there for takeout, but the staff was still extremely friendly and attentive. The food and smoothies were delicious, reasonably priced, and portioned well. I cant wait to eat here again!
Older women at the cash was extremely rude and seemed bothered after asking questions about the menu. Spent over 30 dollars on an iced coffee and Eggs Benedict. Food wasnt very good and although service can sometimes make up for that in this case it did not. All around a very unpleasant experience. Would not return.
very nice cafe. games, nice art, good prices.
Not sure if understaffed on this given day or if they re just generally slow but no one should have to wait over an hour for an eggs benny with four tables seated. Food was nothing to write home about, overseasoned kind of undercooked home fries and a benny with a rock hard egg, would recommend any other brunch spot in town. Worst of all is they make you tip when ordering.
Sadly, our breakfast took more time than expected to be ready
Lovely breakfast bowl. Hit all the expected taste of breakfast ingredients supposed to be.
Food was horrible, we were 4 ppl, we didn t get our food at the same time, coffees came after we got our meals and the coffee was horrible. I wish we could have gotten a refund for this meal. $120 for 4 ppl is a ridiculous price for the quality of food we received. The only thing that was good about this place was the sweetest cashier/server.
Its in the name, good food. The atmosphere rocks. Check it out, they deserve your money
Love it, good food
Bad latte. Very bitter and gritty for some reason. I asked for oat milk latte.
Great sandwiches with tons of flavour in the veggies and sauces.
Ive eaten there twice and Im never disappointed. A very pleasant place, a bit hidden and always calm and cozy. There are several vegetarian and vegan options that are delicious(I often have trouble finding new and creative vegan dishes). The staff is very friendly! PS: smoothies are great.
Good service
Really tasty food and great service!!!!
Good drinks. Good ambiance. Try their cloudberry tea! Coming in today. Super friendly staff. Great spot to work during the day and evening.
You should take some Eggs bunny salmon gravlax. It was delicious
Good Eats has excellent food and great service! There are lots of plant based and gluten free options on the menu, which has been convenient for us. Id recommend going for anything from coffee + croissants, to evening drinks and dinner.
Great healthy breakfast options. Regular and Vegan Breakfast bowls were generous and tasty. Avocado toasts were pretty plain and orange juice ran out so tough luck. Service was cordial but slow. Still, one of the best and most original places to have breakfast in Ottawa!
Vegan breakfast bowl was very impressive. Great portions and that chutney was a highlight. Highly recommend
Great. Wonderful food, had to take it out because of the shutdown but my wife thoroughly enjoyed her avocado toast and my egg n bacon English muffin was stellar. We will be back!
Lovely experience, server was super polite and I really liked the ambience.
Good food
The breakfast bowl and coffee were really delicious, but it was missing the avocado that Id added to my order only to be discovered after returning home. After several missed call attempts, the response from customer service seemed ill equpped in what they can offer as a replacement or refund as well as issues with hearing the representative due to all the background noise from the restaurant. Would love to eat here again, but the lack of coherent customer service response for the missing order item is making me hesitant.
Ordered lunch boxes for work. Karen was thoughtful when it came to menu options, there was something for everyone. Payment was easy to make online and the food was nicely packaged, and ready, for pickup. The food was great and everyone enjoyed it!
All the food is really healthy and tastes amazing
Had 3 vegan plates (poutine, fresh spring rolls, crispy tofu bowl) and they were all delicious! Friendly and accommodating staff!
Friendly service, excellent food, with meat, fish, vegetarian and vegan options. Great patio!
My first time visiting, the customer service is phenomenal, they have a variety of gluten free dishes, or will adjust your choice to your dietary needs. Loved loved loved their gluten free freshly made donuts, which are always available on Thursdays. Well have to say i will go again in next trip to Ottawa, cant wait to try new desserts.
Amazing service and accomodated a large group. Plus the food was really on point even when we asked for a non meat substitute!
Lovely little cafe. The food was delicious, we had two vegan breakfast bowls and iced lattes, highly recommend! The staff was great. You order at the counter, pick a seat, and they bring you the food. There was a large table of older guests who were extremely rude to the poor woman working, it was a holiday Monday so understandably it was busy and a bit slow (but still very reasonable). I just wanted the workers to know that you were great, and that table was rude and unreasonable, it was hard to over hear. Thank you very much, i will absolutely return.
Solid 4 out of 5! Saw this was reviewed well on Google, so I gave it a go. Atmosphere: generally wonderful. Love the bright colours and friendly front of house staff. The local artwork was a nice touch as well. I ended up eating on their patio though, because all the tables had crumbs on them. Going to talk about the staff again because honestly they were some of the friendliest people Ive ever faced in any restaurant. Felt like I was a regular customer even though it was my first time. Food: Iced coffee was great, no complaints at all. I ordered the Mushroom Melt Burger with tofu cheese instead of Havarti cheese, and sweet potato fries as the side (all pictured here). Everything was top notch except the seasoning. The fries needed way more salt, and the burger had way too much salt. Other than that the mushroom was grilled nicely, and the gluten free bun was really tasty! I was happy they could accommodate my dietary restrictions. I also like that everything is made in-house. Definitely would come back again, but maybe try a new dish.
Pathetic fish and chips! Overdone three little fish sticks in place of one large piece of beer battered cod and soggy out of microwave fries. One star only for the Asthon beer. This place doesnt deliver what promises. Disappointed. Poor service.
I discovered this restaurant recently and I love it! They have fresh tasty food at a reasonable price
I ve ordered multiple things from this place with the hope of each being better than the last. Unfortunately the food is bland and very tasteless. There is no flavour to any of the dishes I have had there. Unfortunately I will not be going back again. It s a cute spot and the people who work there are very friendly, but the food just can t be justified.
Great food and service, thanks guys!!!
Food was excellent, Service, what service.
Had a beautiful and delicious salmon eggs Benedict with a similarly great side salad. Well worth the visit!
Tasty food
Visit, four for breakfast, Labour Day long weekend, 2021. Efficient and friendly staff, great tasting food and decent variety. Dining area both inside and outside. Mobility impaired accessible from building. Clean, well lighted and comfortable area.
This is a hidden gem of a place in the outskirts of Ottawa! Try the Huevos Rancheros and pancakes, both were fantastic.
Amazing food .. nice coffee and art too
It was supper busy and short staffed, but even then the food was really good and the service was great. We did have to wait longer than expected for a few items, but we understand due to the above reasons. Great vegan options!!
Fresh food and amazing customer service a very welcoming place.
Out of basic groceries, I failed to find a breakfast diner where I could get a breakfast special for $10-12. Menu at Good Eats Cafe looked appealing, and I splurged on Poor Boy Eggs Benny. The large coffee truly is large. Sadly, it was cold by the time I finished. The fruit cup was excellent, as were the mushrooms and red peppers. I wished for more tarragon in the hollandaise sauce, but thats me. Under double vax protocols service was not fast, but I will be confident that the food is 5 stars on my next visit. In the LIV apartments with a streetside entrance. As pet-friendly as the laws allow.
This is a lovely restaurant de quartier this is great that they serve vegan brunch. I had the vegan Benedict. It was well presented and it was tex-mex theme taste with tomato and cumin. It was good plentiful and I am somewhat disappointed I would have preferred something closer to the original Benedict. The blueberry banana nut smoothie was delicious, the vegan bacon too I will go back. The prices are reasonable too good value
I dont know why Ive never eaten here before. It was AMAZING. I had a gluten free turkey club wrap with brie and my mom had the beet salad. Every single ingredient was fresh, balanced and well seasoned. The beets seemed hand preserved and spiced. The side salad for my wrap was the same base as the beet salad with an excellent dressing and chickpeas, so not the gross afterthought side salad that you normally get at places. Coffee was good, and took a lovely gluten free lemon bar to go. Owner was really nice! And they have a big patio. Highly recommend.
Visited this cafe on the weekend with a few friends and had a lovely time. The blonde server was super friendly and helpful. The food was pretty good and filling as well. The cafe was cozy with beautiful art everywhere.
I was lucky to find this place. Its a great space they have.
I loooooooove this place. As a student who is always looking for new cafes to study at, this one is THE best. Good food, staff is friendly, not too busy. I recommend this place! Plus, there is free parking right in front of the cafe:)
Capital city prices but absolutely worth it. I wish I ordered a 2nd cauliflower wing. These were ao good! The family was also happy with the taste and serving size of the burger and pizza dishes.
Vegan bowl w gluten free toast was perfectly delicious! Also had the carrot ginger tumeric smoothie which was the perfect complementary drink! Highly recommend going here if you have any dietary restrictions/sensitivities! Found my new favourite breakfast spot and can t wait to try the rest of the menu!! Will be back for sure!!
Friendly staff, great options, live atmosphere, good location (plenty of parking), will come back. Would recommend changing the bacon in the vegan breakfast to something a little more chewy and filling
Excellent environment and tasty dishes. I think is one of the hidden places in Ottawa where you can have a great brunch with friends or even a date, they have a charming heated patio. 100% recommended. Friendly staff.
Ordered pick up for the first time and we loved our food! We had the Huervo Ranchero and Chicken and Waffles. Both were fantastic and we are so glad we discovered this place! We will certainly be back again!
Wife and I tried this place for lunch while on business in the area. The menu is small but we were pleasantly surprised! The wraps were larger than expected and the soup was great. She customized her order and the staff member realized he made a mistake with it, then corrected it before we even noticed. He also gave us a dessert bar on the house, though it was entirely unnecessary. :) Food was quick, we arrived before the general lunch rush. Recommended!
Really awesome place with great food. Will always recommend Good Eats!
Casual cafe with amazing coffee. Quick and delicious breakfast options, including gluten free and vegan! Wheelchair accessible and child friendly, actually everyone friendly.
Good little restaurant. Particularly courteous welcome
Most delicious sandwich I have ever had!
Great food and larger portions
Great Momos and mini Cheescakes. Lots of seating space. I think there was Parking also available on the side. But a Well done idea with food and art to buy on the walls. Loved it!
Great food, cozy place. Closes early and gets busy fast so make sure to go before lunch.
This place has a very comfortable homy feel. The food is fantastic. I asked if a recipe changed (still tasted great just different than a previous visit). The staff was interested in my feedback. Really love this place.
EDIT: I just wanted to update this review. Karen got in touch with me to give their spot another chance. That day we had went, they were swamped with orders which they didnt anticipate. We had 2 BLT sandwiches as well as their Mango Lassi. Both were delicious and amazing. Karen, the owner, really cares for her restaurant and went out of her way to try to rectify the situation below. Definitely give them a try if you get a chance! Original Review: I was excited to try out this little shop since its relocation. The staff are very kind and helpful, even during the COVID epidemic. Unfortunately, my partners and I experience with their Canada Day brunch left a lot to be desired. The entire meal was way to salty, so much so, neither of us could finish our meals. The potatoes and sausages were were over seasoned. The bacon was poorly cooked. My pancakes had lumps of dried flour throughout its entirety which was very disappointing. I understand that pancake batter is left lumpy on purpose, however never have I ever experienced dried flour in a cooked pancake. I had really high hopes for this place and wanted to support a local business. Unfortunately, after this experience, I will not be returning.
Great place for food and drinks anytime of day or evening. Friendly service with a smile (even from behind a mask ;) ).
Awesome little restaurant with a great ambiance and a menu that caters both to vegetarians/ vegans and regular diets. The vegan breakfast bowl was tasty and flavourful. Awesome place to go for a brunch with friends!
Pleasantly suprised. Found this last minute. The food was very healthy and high quality!
Amazing food. Great coffee. Very charming and warm little spot. I cannot recommend this enough!
*Yes I can sure that the cooking smells are come from your kitchen because the whole 1st floor is full of that smell. Its annoying since you explained the kitchen to the previous convenience store in the building. No one need your free meal because Ill buy one by myself if your foods are good and you dont create bad smells all over the place. Please show some respect to the neighborhood. (I have ever tried and will never try this restaurant. The cooking smells are ridiculously heavy. This is annoying that the bad smells are all over the LIV building. And most importantly, many of their costumers are not living in the building! So please get out of our community because you are not service for the community!)
I had a good experience at good eats good food and good drinks excellent service friendly staff respect to the owner you are fantastic owner mad respect :) :) mad love
After smelling the cooking here for a few weeks, I decided to give it a try and I couldn t be happier I did. I ordered their butter chicken bowl. It was fresh, delicious and the portion size was much larger than anticipated. I d happily recommend this spot to anyone and can t wait to try another dish.
Great cake with amazing decor. Really appreciate the hard work and effort. Everyone loved it
Great place, fresh food, vegetarian and gluten-free options, and friendly staff
I used to love this place. Was really sad to see that since the move to the new location that the quality and size of portions has decreased substantially. Made me question whether its new owners old name? I paid 9 dollars for a basic beef and bagged salad sandwich. The worst part is that is half the size of the old ones! I also used to love their lemon bars. But this time they were dry bordering on burnt and again at a reduced size. After I left and opened up my bag just felt cheated. Sad to say but Im not going back.
Came to this place due to the high star rating. Unfortunately it did not live up to expectations. When ordering you are presented with a tip option starting at 15% and higher but no actual service is provided. You get your own drinks etc... The coffee and sugar area was empty and I had to prompt a server to refill them, which took over 10 minutes. There were three of us, each meal came separately by 5-10 minutes so we couldnt really eat together. When the meals did come, they were lukewarm, not hot. The overall flavour of the meal was average and sounds much more exciting on the menu, not worth the price paid unfortunately. I chalked this up to a bad experience until I went to use the bathroom and it was fairly messy, uncleaned pee stains under the toilet seat and side, and the garbage in the washroom was overflowing with used paper towels to the point they were all over the floor. I dont normally review, but this entire experience cost over $60 for three people. I feel extremely cheated. I really wanted to like this place, terrible execution on a great idea and would recommend people stay away.
The best breakfast in whole Ottawa! We tried to find a place where we can get a healthy breakfast with good bread. We come frome Austria (Vienna) and wholemeal bread is a normal standard but in Canada not easy to find. You have to try the smashed avocado bread with extra salmon and a sunnyside egg. The chia bowl and the yoghurt bowl with fresh fruits are the perfect final. The dutch baby (very special pancake) is only available for the sunday brunch but we had the chance to try it, with the famous maple syrup. We have to thank the whole team of good eats - every wish for our breakfast came true! We felt like in heaven!!!! You make Ottawa very special for us!!! We will never forget you and I think we will have never ending dreams of this delicious breakfast. So please go to Good Eats when you have a stay or a stopover in Ottawa!!!
Sounded good but menu item not as advertised- chia bowl missing toasted coconut, toasted almonds and puffed rice. Just had some fruit and toasted pumpkin seeds. Latte decent but customer service lacking in terms of friendliness.
Decent brunch, nicely decorated place. Friendly staff
Had the bahn mi sandwich and a caesar salad. both were fantastic! the pork belly is super tasty and the pickled veggies paired well. The ciabatta bread was quite good too! :)
Food was good but a bit expensive, mostly self service, ordering was a bit of a struggle, had didnt get all ordered items the first or even second time we asked.
10 stars. Fabulous service and better food
Good taste
