79 Sparks St., Ottawa, ON K1P 5A5, Canada
Beautiful vintage bicycle themed café on Sparks St. in downtown Ottawa. Great inside vibe! Relaxing patio on the street in summer. No cars! Locally sourced, food, baked goods and beverages, amazing coffee, all syrups made in house. Local beer, wine and cider. Cocktails too!
Such a lovely café, very friendly staff, the orange mocha is so good! And, dog friendly!❤️
We decided to stop in during our cycling loop around the city. I got a breakfast sandwich and a small coffee. Both were really good, but the coffee was smaller than expected. But delish. I noticed there's a bike rack just inside the bike shop/Cafe. Great vibe. Will visit again.
A peaceful and welcoming spot for meetings, reading, and studying, with friendly staff and great coffee.
Very cute café with a repair bike shop in the back. Fun artwork with a comfortable sofa in front. Chocolate cookies are really good. Staff is super nice and friendly.
This unique spot combines a bike shop with a cafe, creating a welcoming atmosphere for cyclists and casual visitors alike. They even have a water bowl out for furry friends! The inclusive vibe is further emphasized by the owner's sign promoting non-discrimination.
Nice, unique concept of having a coffee shop with option of renting/fixing bikes. This place happens to be at an excellent location on Sparks Street with lot of foot traffic in summers. Car parking can be a challenge but then that's why you need bikes lol. It's a cozy little place to sip coffee (beer as well), enjoy the vibrant paintings on display from few of finest local artists. We enjoyed being here and the warmth of staff was very welcoming. Will surely come back whenever we are around.
We just happened to be at the right time, right place. We got to sip delicious hot chocolate while our toes thawed. I also loved the brewed coffee. It’s an interesting cute cafe. Bonus: my kids kept themselves busy doodling on the big screen they had. So, kid friendly too!
This place is So Rad! I Love it!! Such a great atmosphere, and the staff are all so friendly too. The food is unfortunately not gluten free, but I discovered that they do have in-house made spiced nuts that I could have. They are So good! And they give you enough, you can share with a friend. All of their drinks and syrups are made in-house, fresh, organic, and are prepared daily. I love the name of their Granny -Gear Guzzler and next time I am there I am definitely going to try it. This time I had their in-house freshly squeezed organic lemonade and it was so cold, tasty and refreshing. Their prices are reasonable as well. I spoke to the owner who is so dedicated to making this place a memorable establishment, you will want to return to it again and again. He is a living wage employer and I really love that he is so committed to making sure his employees have the best possible environment to work in. He told me that they currently hold weekly open mic nights and they are always adding more events, bike related or not. Make sure to check the bike cafe site often so you don't miss any of the fun. As well as going over and above with ensuring your bike is fully tuned up and ready to go, they also sell vintage bikes too. He said that every bike he sells is restored to its maximum functionality so if you're looking for a bike that looks cool and is also functional and reliable, then this is the place for you. They are within walking distance of the Parliament buildings so if you are looking for a bite or beverage after spending time there, this would be a great place to go. Highly recommend
Dog friendly, great vibe, with friendly staff and did I mention good coffee.
Good coffee, good vibes. The 2 guys behind the counter were friendly and helpful
Friendly staff, tasty food and coffee. Highly recommend checking out this spot!
I expect a café to have good coffee. Unfortunately, this is not the case here. To our surprise, the staff didnt know how to make a latte macchiato (the small cup in the picture is supposed to be the latte macchiato). But the service was attentive and friendly
One of the view real cappucinos in Canada including latte art. On top very cool and tasty ambience within an retro bycicle store. Love it!! Food
Very nice place. The food is delicious and worth it for a quick bite.
A MUST-SEE in Ottawa! Unique atmosphere: bike repair, café and art in one store! Very customer friendly. Fair prices. Good quality. And I spoke enthusiastically with JASON KOMENDAT - without knowing that he was the boss/the owner... He is also extremely friendly and full of joy for life. Joy of life! This is exactly what you feel when you are here! A MUST-SEE in Ottawa/Canada Ill be back when I visit my son in Canada in the next few years. Absolutely recommended!
Great location, and good healthy food choices. Vegetarian options: A good option for vegans and vegetarians. Sandwiches and snacks available. Food : 5/5 |
Beautiful place! Friendly attendant, tasty hot chocolate.
Excellent coffee and lots of retro refurbished bikes.
Great place, a must do for Ottawa
Great Cafe on Sparks with a lovely outdoor patio. I work nearby and often enjoy coming here. They even serve great sandwiches if youre looking for a lunch!
Excellent coffee and atmosphere
The chai latte is delicious, also the chocolatine, and the girls in the bar are so nice! Love the vibes there! Food
Amazing coffee (Machiatto) and really cool store. Great service also!
Excellent coffee! Great discovery
Kid-friendliness: Easy to get stroller in Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs Food : 5/5 |
I was the crazy lady who came in earlier this afternoon absolutely flustered and frustrated that I couldn t find any public washroom for my 78 year old mother to use. Huge thanks to the owner for letting her use your washroom. People like you are the reason I still have hope in humanity. Rock on.
Best spot for coffee in Ottawa! This has been my go to study spot, the coffee is amazing, staff is super friendly and the atmosphere is great, whether it s a nice sunny day or cold winter morning!
Nice shop with coffee.
I used to love this place and took my bike there so that they perform a service on. Unfortunately, they didnt leave up to my expectations. After minutes of the sales man trying to sell me different irrelevant spare parts, he PROMISED me he would return my bike after one week.surprisingly, after 3 weeks, my bike ended up in their storage. Mistake happens to every one, but the way one behave to their mistake is very important. Isnt it better to accept it rather than cover it and blame the costumer for that? I will never go to this cafe again because the little thing that I expected was respect
Very nice experience during a getaway to come and take a coffee break with oat milk and look at the cycling offer. Vintage bikes at good prices and refurbished! Warm and sporty atmosphere, great for cycling enthusiasts :-) we came across it by chance and we are very happy, courteous and smiling staff!
Great Coffee, I tried the flat white and double espresso, both great! :) Vegetarian options: has an oat milk option Food : 5/5 |
Great place to hang out and have a cup of coffee. They have a variety of options in drinks and snacks. They didnt follow my instructions on how I wanted my coffee but it tasted fine.
Great place in Ottawa to hangout. The atmosphere is very cozy and welcoming. The staff are kind and you can tell that this establishment is the owners passion. Highly recommend!!
Great place to eat and chill with friends. I loved the atmosphere and the customer service made the visit worth it. Food and drinks were very satisfying. Would visit again!
The iced chai latte and the sandwiches are alright it s over priced, nothing great. I do love the vibe and the atmosphere it s a great idea to have a coffee shop mixed in with a bike store. Food
Stopped by during winterlude. Was received very well by two men working. Had a hot chocolate and the best cookies! The peanut butter one reminded me of my grandmas peanut butter cookies as a kid and the trail mix was delicious too. Gluten free as well. Will be back.
The cutest little shop!! Coffee was delicious
I used to go to Ottawa Bike Cafe while staying in Ottawa this autumn. Amazing vibe, great coffee, fantastic staff. During the trip the travel buggy of my daughter was broken. It was fixed here within 5 minutes which elevated my sympathy to this place enormously. I ended up buying Ottawa Bike Cafe t-shirt (cool design, btw!) and I wear it regularly.
dawny was very helpful and super nice! great coffee :)
Great coffee! This is a must visit spot in Ottawa. Family run, delicious food and coffee, and a bike shop in the back . I strongly recommend a visit!
Good coffee. Nice and clean inside.
Extremely kind staff , delicious cappuccinos (seriously! this is not just for cyclists, I d go here for the coffee alone), and great music (lotsa Bob Dylan). Good vibe overall and well decorated, one of the cooler spots I. Ottawa for sure
Great coffee, great service!
My first time coming here after they recently reopened and its a lovely space. The coffee and matcha latte are great, the owner and staff are very friendly, and they feature local artists work on their walls. Ill definitely be a regular here!
Great location in downtown Ottawa on a pedestrian mall! Bikes are welcome too. Delish coffee & baked goods, friendly staff. Vegetarian options: Delish sandwich!
I greatly enjoyed my coffee and amazing cookie today and I am sooooo grateful for the kind bicycle repair staff who ended up fixing my flat!! Thanks
This is such a beautiful space. It s a bike place but you can also get coffee. Love it!
I ve been looking for good coffee downtown for the last couple of months and so glad that the cafe serves Artery community roasters. Such a great local roaster! There s lots of seating here, pastries and other menu items. Love that it s right on sparks st.
Very good
There are so many reasons to love the Ottawa Bike Cafe! - The vibes are immaculate: beautiful murals and art on the walls, as well as cool neon signs - Living wage employer - Serves absolutely delicious Artery Community Roasters coffee (a social enterprise that employs people with disabilities)... The espresso drinks are unmatched - Amazing selection of sweet and savory pastries from Bread & Sons (!!!) as well as housemade sandwiches and sandwiches from a local biz called Lunchbox - Super friendly staff and owner - Also a great spot for an after-work drink on the Sparks Street patio - The unbeatable combo of coffee and bikes (and booze)! All that, plus Ottawas best bike shop (Retro Rides) make the Bike Cafe one of my very favourite spots in the city. Dont miss it!
Coffee stop for me, didnt try any food. Great Place, good vibes with bikes and a spacious patio area. Indoor and outdoor seating available.
Great place for a sandwich and coffee date. Will come again
Great coffee and service. Slower than Tim Hortons but worth the wait.
By pass the long lines at the nearby coffee shop and come to this one. Shaded seating, trendy atmosphere, and really good fresh coffee. Had an oat latte and an iced vanilla latte with homemade vanilla syrup. Super yummy! Recommend!
BEST bike repair shop in Ottawa; Jason was extremely helpful and fixed my bike quickly. He was careful to ensure my bike was good to go! Clearly passionate about bikes and keeping them in good shape.
Had an emergency wheel repair done while having a coffee. Friendly service and unique combination of bike store/shop and Cafe.
Surprising this duo of bike workshop and coffee but it is very successful! We liked our house coffee, espresso or cappuccino. Very good service too.
Bike friendly. People friendly. Everything friendly!
The food and service were fine - good, even. Unfortunately, there was a small dog roaming free in the store. It crawled under our table and was a nuisance for our entire visit, tripping me up every time I rose from the table. The final time I got up it nipped me in the leg. If youre a big dog person then maybe this sounds great, but I definitely could have done without, and wont be returning.
I was going to be late for work. They made my latte so fast time went backwards and I got to work 1 hr early.
I love this place so much The owner is so nice, it s so lovely and pretty ! Do yourself a favour and go there They have many evening events to check out too, like a music open mic and comedy. Thanks for making Ottawa great!
Nice welcoming place for a quick coffee break or a refreshing drink. Service and coffee were big highlights, snacks were also great.
Sweet little bike shop and coffee. Excellent latte
Pay back CEBA, Jason.
I havent tried their food yet, but its the ONLY place downtown so far that has CONSISTANTLY made a great cup of drip coffee. Ive been about 5 times now, and its always tasted the same -- Awesome! Service has been great as well!
Omg the sandwich and chai sooo yumm ..
Nice café, very cool vibes with the bikes all around
Matcha excellent!
We went to the bike café to have hot chocolate and croissants while waiting for the rain to pass: we loved the place, the service, the food, everything was perfect!! Really a very good place to take a little break. You can also buy a bike
We went to the cafe one morning and the staff were very nice and courteous. The coffee is very good, as well as their muffins. The place is really cute, lots of charm.
Donnie provided amazing service. I really enjoyed my iced matcha and my friends enjoyed their coffee and lemonade. The location is super cute and cozy, industrial vibes but with lots of greenery.
Adorable, cozy cafe with a great selection of food and drinks, plus a patio on the Sparks St. pedestrian mall in the summer. The spiced nuts are delicious and a great alternative for folks like me who avoid sugar and flour. They also have a comfy sofa perfect for reading or just sipping tea with friends. The best of its kind in the downtown Ottawa core.
Didn t have a bike but just stopped in for a sandwich and a coffee and wasn t disappointed! Really enjoyed the food and the iced latte was well done. Nice location not far from parliament.
The gentleman with these pigtails prefers to drink his beer than inform customers, responding to a simple hello is not very complicated.
I regularly get my afternoon mocha here and Im a big fan of the classic breakfast sandwich. Friendly staff, great atmosphere. If youre visiting Ottawa this is the place to check out.
Hybrid café that also serves as a vintage bike shop. This place reminds me of another café of the same type in Berlin. Very nice atmosphere and music and very well located. Chai latte very good. The Spinach Feta Roll is also worth the detour.
Great spot for a coffee, beer or snacks. Very friendly staff and the best cookies in town.
Da best for the coffee, croissants etc + restored classic bikes. + Patio on street.
Good little spot for coffee.
lovely café and staff was very friendly and nice. Highly recommend this place, great experience!
What a great experience cant wait to go back once they open
Excellent place for a good coffee!
Great cafe with fresh pastry and a very fine espresso drinks. I am still riding a bike I bought from their rental fleet many years ago too. Great place for visitors to relax, rent a bike, explore Ottawa and then relax again in the heart of Ottawa.
Lovely place. Very popular spot for cyclists to stop and grab some quality espresso before hitting the Gats. Keep up the quality service!
Cool cafe geared towards cyclists. Got some vegan food too.
What a wonderful concept! Im avid cyclist but sometimes, Id like to enjoy a hot drink and eat something else than energy bars or gels. This is a great pit-stop. And the staff is super friendly (as most cyclists are ;-)).
Excellent ambience and the coffe, speciality drinks and food are great too! Looking forward to when they will be back open in Spring!
This café is definitely a must when visiting downtown!! Great food and goodies! The interior is very clean and well maintained. Great location and great staff.
Very nice coffee and staff, like the vibe in the store!!!
Lovely selection of drinks - both alcoholic and alcohol-free. Some snacks and treats available too. The little seating area is by the window and so it makes for good people watching.
Easily my favourite place for a drink in Ottawa.
Nice place and staff... but come on... really 4.50 for each freezey Almost 9.00 for 2
The little café that could! This cute spot feels like it does everything from your classic café fare, to beer and ice cream while also sharing a space with their sister companies that rent bikes for tours. This spot was cute and I will certainly be back!
Rich terrace to chat and have a beer
We Love this place! The counter staff are always so pleasant and they have great mochas as well as lattes. We usually catch the croissants coming out of the oven and enjoy everything on the outdoor patio while people watching. Will follow them to their new location on Laurier Avenue West in September. :)
Coffee and cycling lover, welcome to your paradise. Go cheer them on.
Great little spot to stop after a ride!
Go cheer them on!!!! They are very nice and their coffee is delicious.
Excellent espresso, service and atmosphere. I also love the cups, tables and chairs.
On the East end of Sparks Street this New Bike Cafe is geared towards cyclists and recreational riders alike. Built into the Retro-Rides store, one can walk inside with their bike (while wearing a mask) order up a Large Brew Coffee or any number of different caffeine drinks along with some nice scones or muffins to top the ride in off. Seating space is a very large roped off patio area that places you in the center of the traffic of Sparks street. With music playing in the background and tourists and citizens traveling the cobble stone road. It is definitely a great place to stop for a refreshment.
My husband and I grabbed some drinks here this past weekend and were pleasantly surprised with how yummy they were! The barista was lovely too!
Cute café in the bike shop, serving quality coffee, refreshing drinks, beer, and small food items, with an enjoyable patio. Unfortunately, they do not offer baby changing tables in the restrooms, in spite of its large size. Cute café, tucked away in the bicycle shop, serving good coffee, refreshing drinks, beer, and small bites, with a pleasant terrace. Unfortunately, they do not offer a baby changing table in the toilets, although they are a good size.
Awesome place. Love to visit every time Im in Ottawa.
Great local coffee shop with a fun, bike theme. The vanilla latte is my go-to favourite, and the premium roast nuts makes for a great snack. I am eager to try more of the menu!
The owners have created a really neat atmosphere in the new space. The bike shop is clean and the retro bikes hanging from the walls make for interesting decor. The coffee is great too!
We had some delicious lattes and a pastry here. The vibes are very good, lots of envy inspiring bikes on display. Id definitely go back!
Great mid ride stop. Many vegan options for those of us with dietary restrictions. Food was good and service was friendly.
