The food is very tasty and the service is friendly. Janet, the owner, makes sure that every customer leaves satisfied. The soups are especially good; last time, I had the Tomato Bisque and it was delicious, rich and creamy. There is indoor seating, as well as a large outdoor patio for good weather.

We had a family event catered by Cafe Deluxe 2 yrs ago & everyone was pleased & impressed of the food presentation & really freshly delicious!Thank you to the catering manager, Brendan, for such well-organized & great service...highly recommended

wow!!! best bagel of my life NO CONTEST. i got an incredible breakfast sandwich with butter & a sesame seed bagel, small coffee, & a flaky pastry roll for the road. prices are the same as a fast food restaurant but with FAR superior quality as far as i can tell. lots of options for take-away & drinks to go. I had a cozy spot to eat right after opening, enjoyed it so much, great atmosphere with friendly people. the roll smells & tastes lovely after a little heating. i plan to never go to a fast food place if i can go here instead. support these places, they deserve to thrive!

The best cookies in Ottawa! The skor cookies and chocolate coconut cookies in particular are amazing! Editing my review two years later - beyond the cookies, this place has phenomenal breakfast and lunch. Since moving to their new Kent St location this has become my go to for in office days. The breakfast sandwich is perfectly executed, the lunches (sandwiches, soups, salad and specials) are all consistently great time and time again. Even their take home foods are fantastic - my kid hates chicken but loves their chicken pies! Everything tastes homemade and fresh. Customer service is always friendly too. Cant say enough good things about this spot.

The service is 5 stars alone! I highly recommend the chocolate chip cookies and lattés. We took home a chicken pot pie as well, it was so good - we will be back to stock up on more of them.

Cafe Deluxe catered our u14 Provincial ski race. They prepared 800 boxed lunches over 4 days. They were a pleasure to work with, very accommodating and the lunches received rave reviews by the 12/13 year old athletes, accompanying parents, volunteers and ski patrol!

This place is a godsend, they are a very kind hearted business who donates at least 1 meal a week to every guest at the Ronald McDonald house, delivered every Wednesday to RMH. As a guest I love looking forward to a nice home cooked hot meal , being away from home while our sick infant is in CHEO is just one extra thing not to worry about. Eating tends to be on the run, with mostly snacks as meals. This past week they kindly delivered Cajun chicken pasta and it was fantastic, everyone at the house was raving about how great it was and how much we all look forward to having a real meal once a week. Just want to say thank you to these wonderful people who graciously donate to this much needled organization

I am obsessed with the cookies at this cafe. They are delightful and simply the best in Ottawa (and beyond)! The staff are super friendly and the establishment is very clean. i LOVE this place. I worked downtown for almost 10 years and I went there regularly the whole time. The staff are SO friendly, the food is delicious and the prices are very reasonable. It feels like a home cooked meal among friends and family. And definitely get a cookie! :)

Easy online ordering with lists of ingredients for each dish- I really appreciate this as it helped me avoid allergens. Home delivery too! Awesome option during COVID- take out that is like a home cooked meal!

My wife ordered delivery today instead of our usual take out. The meals arrived frozen with cooking instructions on top. I was worried I would not like the Moroccan chicken as it has a sweeter smell but it was soooooo good- not sweet at all and very flavorful. Lots of chicken, carrots and chickpeas. It would also be good with cauliflower in it. We also ordered the green curry. Very tasty- I wish it was a bit spicier but I added sriracha and it was perfect. We will be ordering more of these to keep in our freezer as an alternative to take out. We also ordered some granola as it is an excellent price- tastes like honey and cinnamon- very very good and excellent value.

Sweet café downtown. Tasty food options and great customer service. Every time I have been here, despite the lunch rush, the staff would take their time to package the food/treats nicely. Food options are simple: sandwiches, pasta, soup, panini, muffins, cookies, brownies, etc. There isnt anything too fancy about this this place, but when you walk in, youre welcomed with warm servce.

Amazing food! Had the Leek and Potato soup along with Ottawas best cookies! The owner is extremely pleasant as well. Definitely will be coming back, found my new downtown work lunch spot- great food, reasonable price and minutes from the office.

I really like this café. The atmosphere is exactly what I look for in a café. You can read here and study (but with no outlets). They have Timothys coffee which is yummy, and a comfortable seating area. I really like that they have coffee mugs and lactose-free cream, and little flowers on the tables. One of my favourite places to go in the morning to be alone and read with coffee.

Diverse choices

Stopped in here on our morning in Ottawa lovely sized breakfast it fills you up for a day of exploring

They catered a lunch event I was at. There was chicken that was barely flavoured like rosemary and wasnt particularly well prepared, bland rice, some veggies, and salad. One of the platters had toppings that seemed to make it seem like this was a greek inspired meal, but there was no greek dressing to go with it, just balsamic or ranch. Overall, everything was fairly bland. Cant say I would recommend their catering services.

One of the best place around this part of downtown to get a quick bite to eat. Daily menus with multiple choices. Soups, paninis, salads, and hot meal options. The place is very clean and very well ran. Everything Ive tasted was good to great. The food is fresh and the put the effort to make it look good and taste good. If you like cookies, they have an excellent selection. And this is a very affordable place.

Make sure you try their ginger cookies. One of the best.

Lovely spot. I work downtown and its my favourite place to go. Best rice crispy squares and French fries (just as good as chip wagon fries!). The owner is absolutely wonderful and remembers everyone. The staff are super friendly too. Cant recommend it enough!

Excellent food and service

I needed to grab a quick bite, as I was sick of Subway. I googled close by restaurants and decided on this. I am glad I did! This place is really great. I ordered a sandwich that had such fresh ingredients, I was convinced it was the best sandwich I ever had. I am a picky eater, so I believe that is saying a lot. You can order many basic sandwiches there, and they have many different choices for soups and salads. Their French fries were chip truck style and were salted to perfection. I will be returning to try their cookies, which I heard from my office were excellent. No more stupid Subway for me. Might be pricey for some, as a sandwich, fries and a drink (vitamin water) came to about $12. But I pay for quality, and to me, this was worth it. I believe that they have many other dishes there, so check the website.

A little confusing when you first walk in. Not a standard line up - just go to the station you want to order from and skip ahead to pay. Had the fish&chips (which I dont usually order) and it was delicious! My coworkers often go for lunch and are always pleased. Always gluten free options available!

An Excellent stop close to Parliament Hill. Their cookies are deliciously made and perfect take aways. Fish and Chips on Friday - arguably the best in the immediate area and better than most fish and chips pubs on Elgin. Service friendly and efficient. A good place to sit and recharge.

Foods pretty good but it all depends on whos working the cash. I had a great experience just getting lunch to go, they were accommodating to my diet, very friendly and even offered me a cookie. I got the breakfast to go another time and it wasnt as pleasant a visit. Wasnt worth the price or trouble.

The food is GREAT and the customer service, even better ! They ran out of the hot food, and there was maybe 1/3 of a portion left so they gave me that plus fries (size of a side order) for free ! Ive also gotten an extra cookie for free when the first one was broken. They truly care about their customers ! Just started working downtown, and Cafe Deluxe looks like its going to me my go-to place!

Not my favourite. When I went staff were more concerned with talking to each other and taking their breaks in the dining area than serving customers. Food is alright, nothing special.

Love this establishment, fresh food prepared daily, in the mornings. Head chef Dan is amazing at his craft, and the staff are wonderful. You cant go wrong here with the different daily lunch specials. Oh yeah and the cookies are to die for!!

I Love the people at Cafe Deluxe! The owner is so nice and all her staff are just wonderful...her food is always freshly made, and it is also quite affordable. They are one of the rare places in the downtown core to offer a full breakfast too. They always have gluten free options and they are very aware of and always more than accommodating to people with Celiac..I would highly recommend anyone to come and check out Cafe Deluxe for breakfast or lunch any day!

This is now my go-to for a quick breakfast sandwich to bring to the office, and will be a lunch staple as well. It features friendly staff, fresh ingredients, and reasonable prices. It is busy in the mornings but they get it all done and with a smile. And warm cookies fresh out of the oven... how can you resist?

Great breakfast

We cater from them on a regular basis for work events and theyre known for their cookies (made from scratch) and I love their rice and chicken skewers. Today i went in for my own lunch and got a roast beef sandwich on rye, a chicken curry soup and some cookies and wow, everything tasted amazing and i was a bit skeptical about getting the curry chicken soup but they insisted it was really good and they were so right. So far Ive never known them to ever serve anything that wasnt super fresh and good. Definitely going back for more regular lunches!

This little cafe has it all. The quality of their coffee, especially their espresso, is excellent and, believe me, I only drink that and am rather picky about it. Have you tried their freshly baked cookies? Im salivating just thinking about it! They make lunch right in front of you and open early. Also, I cant believe it: its been a long time since I felt like I was getting my moneys worth. Jellyfish brand at crazy prices, its you Im talking to. In short, this café is a little gem in a world of concrete.

The breakfast here is pretty good and the lunch menu changes every day so the quality ranges from absolutely delicious to hold-your-nose-and-eat-it-because-you-paid-for-it. The staff is very friendly and I often recommend this as the best place to get breakfast in the Ottawa downtown area, however it doesnt have a lot of meaningful competition.
