179 George St, Ottawa, ON K1N 1J8, Canada
Destination for Asian soups & dishes with handmade noodles offered in a calm, casual setting.
The place is very welcoming and everyone was friendly. We got the classic beef noodles, beef stew noodles and the noodles with minced pork paste and we were all happy with our dishes! Highly recommend!
Had the Thai, hand pulled cold noodles here. So much flavor! And the taste and look of the noodles you can tell they were hand pulled and fresh. Service was beyond excellent. The food arrived fast. Good price... was CAD$24 for a big portion that filled me up. Everything was awesome here I literally have no complaints for once. Highly recommend!!!!
The first few times I ordered here it was really good. I loved the texture of the noodles and the flavour. It was a bit on the pricey side but I kept coming back. The last 3 times I ordered they stopped honouring my request to make it less spicy and it's just too much for me. I know they can make it less spicy because they've done it in the past but now suddenly they stopped. I thought maybe it was just because I was ordering from one of those apps so I went and ordered in person to request less spicy and they still made it the normal level of spicy. I just don't think I'll be back as I can't guarantee I'll get what I ordered.
4.75 because the cups of water tasted like soap which kinda sucks However the food was really good. Especially the noodles. Would go back for sure. Really nice people & nice music etc. 🩷
We got a large beef noodle soup with thin noodles and a beef stir-fried noodles with the wide noodles. The noodles are fresh hand pulled noodles and are very chewy. Some pieces of the wide noodles were really chewy (maybe even a little too chewy, maybe because they were stir fried instead of in soup). The portions were really big. Overall both types of noodles were very flavorful. Staff were very helpful.
Great noodles (Lanzhou lamian) with great menu choices. The noodles are delicious, well-priced and served with tasty soup. There are also great options on the menu for noodles of different styles, rice dishes, drinks, and side dishes that are also very good quality. A great place to go for noodles and more.
Definitely the best Chinese “La Mian” in town! This place was renovated earlier this year and it was my first time visit since then. The waitress who served me was extraordinary with outstanding service. The broth was fantastic!!! Recommend for everyone who visit the capital area!
This place has really tasty food! The soups are rich in flavour and the portions are enormous! Noodles are all home made. Not that many vegetarian options available, not sure if there are any vegan once.
We ordered takeout from this restaurant and had a bad experience. We paid for 2 portions of fried dumplings but only received one. The lady carefully checked the receipt before giving us the order, as if she thought we were trying to steal someone elses food. The taste of the food wasn t bad, but I found 4 chicken gristles and 1 bone in my meal. This is not what I expect from a restaurant. I could make such a mess at home myself.
their noodles are very good , I like their flavor!
Amazing hand noodles, and great broth. Highly recommend
10dollar fry chicken like 2dollar size I ordered the thinner noodles and made udon. Sauerkraut beef noodles without beef
A MAZE ING
Everything was good! Courteous and fast service. We are welcomed with a smile and we leave with a full stomach!
Lala Noodles offers great flavor with a variety of tasty options. We tried the Thai Pulled Chicken Noodles along with the Chicken Teriyaki Poke Bowl. Both dishes were delicious, with a good balance of flavors. The noodles were especially satisfying, and the poke bowl had just the right amount of teriyaki sauce. The food was quickly prepared, making it perfect for takeout. Overall, a solid choice for a flavorful and efficient meal. Highly recommend!
Restaurant made noodles were great ! The portion was big, delicious and inexpensive. Would recommend.
My name is pius Ambrose first ever experience to eat Chinese food but I dare u the boss is amazing ,great sense of humor down to earth and above all he has the best hospitality .try any Chiness good u would ever want the rest is history
Perfect spot to eat noodles! My favourite place
The old asian lady at the front profiled me so hard when I walked in and because of that she gave me attitude off the bat and the old asian guy with the glasses making the noodles just ignored me. So I just walked out after. I heard health Canada has been called on them once so maybe this was a good thing haha
Based on navigation and customer reviews. I saw the bad reviews first, then the good reviews. Decided to try it myself. The soup of this clear beef noodle soup is good. Personally I think its a bit salty. The overall evaluation is authentic. Hygiene is pretty good among Chinese restaurants.
Marinated cucumber dish is deliciously spicy. Noodles themselves are very tasty, the beef stew is my favorite. Casual and cozy spot, cant come to Ottawa and not stop by.
Great service, great value, amazing food. We ordered the Signature Stir-Fried Noodles and Classic Beef Noodles with Pickled Mustard and really enjoyed them both.
The amount of meat is too small. The point is that the beef is eaten one at a time, so it looks even less. One at a time, there is so much fat, and then it feels even less.
best noodle in Ottawa
On my way back to Toronto from Quebec City. This stop over restaurant right in downtown of Ottawa was something I needed. Great price and big portions. The broth is absolutely delicious . Fresh hand pulled noodles.
No, I thought it was the leftover five-spice sausage served to me for $8.99 haha...
Delicious noodles and poke bowls. The Taiwanese popcorn chicken is addictive. Very friendly service. I will be returning when Im back in Ottawa Wheelchair accessibility: Door is on ground level with no stairs
this is one of my very favorite restaurant in Ottawa. my whole family loves coming here. the owner is charming and the food is delicious. I always get the same thing(classic noodles with shrimps and a strawberry green ice tea) and it is perfection. the renovation they did recently also made it better than before
This is hands down my favourite place to go when it s chilly out, dang it I ll even go for it in high heat ! The noodles are so delicious as they re hand made fresh every day, and it really makes all the difference. For a few months earlier this year they were closed, and my friends and I were de-va-sta-ted. When I found out they had just rebranded/remodeled, I kid you not, I shed a tear. When I went back to get the classic beef soup I was thrilled to find that it was just as good as I remember. Absolutely worth the stop, a standout restaurant in the city.
10/10. Really good noodles, the hospitality was great, and they let us try the frozen yogurt which as also really nice. We ate the small beef stew noodle and the portion was crazy big for the price (were not complaining lol). Lots of care put into this place, def would recommend :).
Have been here a few times and thought it was great but they made some changes to the menu (please bring back the beef and lamb skewers) and this time the service was incredibly slow (theyd forgotten our order and had to be reminded) and the dumplings had clearly been frozen and warmed up in the microwave. The soup broth was good and the noodles were good as well but would not come back
This restaurant has gone downhill. Menu has changed to adapt Westerns. Far away from their previous standards. Food was mediocre compared to before, their noodles were very authentic but not anymore, tasted less flavourful. Was unpleasant experience for me as there are a dozen fruit flies appeared after the food was served. They were lying on the noodles and chopsticks and napkins. We mashed a few of them but unable to get them all. So the whole dining experience was annoying and by the end I told the server she smiled and said that s normal. Smell of food and vinegar attract the fruit flies. But a restaurant should not be having this pest problem at all! Regular customer, will not come back again.
Hand maid noodles, fresh, with a lot of flavourful broths. You can choose the type of noodles and the type of broth. The ingredients are fresh. The staff is really friendly and hospitable. Perfect for a date night or simply for pickup. The large size is huge and could feed easy 2 persons and is really affordable. Highly recommended
The menu changed drastically and all the BBQ skewers are gone. For the noodle dishes with minced meat (costed $15+), the meat is so scarce that once you mix it with the noodle, the meat basically can no longer be seen. Comparing to what this place offered previously, I can t recommend it anymore.
Overpriced noodle place. Noodles feels tough not the chewy fresh I was looking for.
Discusting 0/10
great food and super nice staff! the large classic noodles were hugee. service was quick, despite ordering in peak lunch hours.
Great service, delicious noodles! The noodle soup is aromatic and tastes delicious, the noodles are hand pulled amazingly, and are chewy and filling. The beef noodle stew was very good.
Best noodles in Ottawa, must try!!!
Best noodles in ottawa
Tasty noodles, generous portions, and cheaper than most sit-down restaurants we ate at in the area. Waitress was also very attentive.
The place is pretty average in terms of quality and experience. Prices are reasonable for what they serve. The portion sizes are good, though theres more noodles than meat in the dishes. The food tastes good but is a bit salty. The staff are friendly, and the washrooms are clean. One downside is they don t provide extra sauce on the side. I didn t like that they serve water in plastic cups that get wet on the outside. Another thing they could improve is serving everyone at the same table at the same time I had to wait about 5 minutes for my food while my friend s meal was already served. My friend ordered thin noodles, and I ordered wide noodles, but they served both of us the wide noodles. Not a big deal, but it d be nice to get exactly what you order. They offer some shareable dishes, though I didn t try any. The tables were clean. Overall, it was an okay experience. Vegetarian options: There are some veggie dishes available. Parking: There are paid street parking available.
Went here for lunch on Canada Day This was an amazing experience not just because the food was delicious, but also because the owners were incredibly sweet and friendly making the visit even more enjoyable (they have a cute Photo Booth) Food
EDIT: Drastically lowered my rating. I havent visited in about 3 years, and wow, was I ever disappointed upon returning. The menu is completely different, and the few items that did not change are no longer tasty (example: the signature stir-fry is bland and uninteresting now). They got rid of the amazing BBQ item selections! The BBQ buns were to die for! Not sure if ownership changed, but unfortunately, this is no longer the high quality noodle shop it once was :( Portions have also drastically changed. I ordered the japanese cabbage... and for 7$, this is the portion I received. A few strands.
This is the best classic beef noodle soup in the city hands down. The shredded potato salad and spicy cucumber are also notable appetizers.
First time here and will definitely be returning again. Fiona our waitress was amazing and provided great friendly service. Food was delicious and service was quick. 5/5 experience
Recently reopened after renovations. Menu has been slightly revised. Great Noodles. Very flavourable broth. Nice simple choices. Fair sizing. Good service.
I had a bowl of spicy chicken rice. The chicken is in pieces and is boneless. Lots of spice but not much nuance in flavors.
I LOVE this place. The service is kind and warm with a smile. The food is the most top notch in the city, authentic hand pulled noodles. It s the best noodles I ve had in all of ottawa. The ambience is newly renovated with a very comforting style, very clean, love the mid century chairs. The owner comes and talks to you. All in all, a huge personal favourite. They also have the most delicious sides, my fav sweet and sour potato salad.
The braised beef noodles are incomparably delicious, and the flavored cucumbers are simply unbeatable. I wish the cucumbers were cheaper haha, the best braised beef noodles in Ottawa
Would definitely recommend. Authentic and well priced!
Dong Ge Ramen is well-deserved. No matter what you order, its delicious.
Good food and big portions
Delicious noodles that were enjoyed by all members of our group, including many vegetarian options too.
Its a pity its closed...I dont know if it will still be open.
Brother Dong s noodle soup is bone broth that has been simmered for at least two days. Now this method is becoming less and less. The taste is simply invincible. I ate two bowls in one go. It really tastes better than the Le Noodles next door. The taste here is more mellow and light, which is a pity. Now that we have left Ottawa, we should open a branch in Toronto.
Now reopened and renovated with an expanded menu. My go to is the classic beef noddles.
Pleasant atmosphere. Good food. There s a little spot to take photos under the roses
Amazing
This is, by far, the best noodles Ive ever had! The broth was spicy and delicious! Definitely one of my favourite restaurants in Ottawa! If youre in the area, please come try this place!
Delicious noodles, quick and friendly take-out service. The atmosphere of the restaurant makes you want to stay there!
Edit: They re-opened after renovations! Welcome back! I am so sorry you are now closed. Enjoyed your food for many years, thank you for all of the delicious meals and I wish you all the best. Food : 5/5
Super place and wonderful people work there ! Food was very good! I recommend.
Great noodles at great prices. Their beef noodle soup feels like home.
There was way too little meat to noodle ratio. And no vegetables.
Everything amazing, except the service.
Horse, no one will stop you from taking a vacation. It is a good thing to spend more time with your family. But at least change your opening hours on Google. It s 2024 now, who will read the sticker on your door? Google said you should open the door, but after driving for half an hour, you didnt open it. A trap or not? It only takes a few seconds for you to post a message on Google, which is the minimum respect for your customers.
Probably the best hand cut authentic chinese noodles in town. Taste is so good you will think youre in Beijing. Highly recommend!
Amazing place, probably one of the best noodles restaurant I ve eaten at. Ordered the classic beef noodle The hand pulled noodles are great quality. The meat was fresh and the broth was very rich in flavour. The amount of msg is appropriate, not too strong but also adequate. The side dishes like the brochettes and the spiced peanuts are also great and authentically Chinese. Friendly staff, thoughtful service. Would recommend to anyone looking for a authentic and rich Chinese noodle soup.
I love this place. One of the best noodle places in town. But the last 4/5 times I ve been here they didn t have some of the most popular items. The Dan Dan is amazing here, but I ve tried coming mid day, evening and currently as soon as it s open , after 2 days closed, and no DanDan. I m quite disappointed. I don t live close to downtown so I think this will be the last time coming to this restaurant. Try L.A. No odle on Clyde Ave. Tommy always has Dan Dan and it s amazing as well!! Plus a wide assortment of authentic dishes to try, without the disappointment!
Nice and quiet restaurant. Very delicious food and noodles. Food
Delicious hand crafted noodles. Have both eaten in and taken away. A delicious, but messy meal. We saw people ask for scissors halfway through our meal and I wish Id thought of that earlier.
Fantastic flavours. But many items on menu sold out
Solid 3.5/5. Most of the more popular dishes were sold out for the day, we made some other selections. The broth of the classic beef was delectable. The minced pork cold noodles were also a win. Everything else we ordered was not worth (did not love the cucumber dish that was just doused in sauce, the jellyfish, the pepper chicken. Service wasnt quite responsive - the place looked understaffed for how busy it was.
Got the hand pulled beef noodles. It was delicious. Highly recommended for noodles.
Regular customer here it is my go-to-place for a warm meal on any evening. I highly recommend the Beef Noodle Soup, the Stew Beef Noodle Soup, the Beef Hamburger. Their soups broth are rich in flavour and comforting. The beef in the Stew Beef Noodle Soup and Hamburger bun is very tender and soft. Love watching the noodles in action!
Delicious hand pulled noodles. Big portions and reasonable prices.
Amazing
The noodles are on point, especially for a winter night. Large is VERY large even for a man. Definitely would return next time Im in town to try other items on the menu. Hopefully, the waitress will be less of a clutz.
Had a tantan men and a beef noodle. Really enjoyed their food much! Thanks!!
Pretty decent food. Great price to quantity ratio.
Good taste, good atmosphere.
Food was tasty. Only complaint I have is that it was not spicy. I was asked how spicy, told them very and had no spice to it lol They even offered me some spicy chili sauce (their words) and it barely tasted like chili. Otherwise, our server was very nice and checked on us a few times. Dining area and bathroom could use a face lift, but to be honest, we all come for the food
Excellent restaurant. Delicious noodles. I had the Dandan noodles and the dish was amazing. The broth was so well done. Definitely worth a try!
My favorite dish is the signature stir fry. Their noodles are delicious!
The Dan Dan noodles were wonderful,
We complained that the beef stew noodles did not have any beef and only fat. They did not fix this problem for us and tried to convince us that this is normal in brisket which is wrong. Do not eat here.
It s fresh it s yummy
Excellent service and delicious food
If you are looking for the best hand-pulled noddle bowls in the Byward Market area, come here! Don t be put off by the location.
One of the best Chinese noodle houses in town. Many of the BBQ items are also delicious. Service is quick and staff are very friendly. And parking is easy (free after 5:30pm) on George St and with the city parking lot across the street as well. I would highly recommend the place.
Best noodle s restaurant in Ottawa. Very friendly stuff with great hospitality. Tasty food with various types. Definitely try it out while you visiting this city.
The squid was reallyyy good, right level of spice
Driving from Toronto to Montreal, had to stop by to try this place out! I would recommend stopping by here and trying the beef stew!
Amazing food and huge portions!
Amazing food, very kind staff, and nice atmosphere, strongly recommend beef noodle!!
The hand-pulled noodles are so delicious! The beef melts in your mouth and the soup base is also very fresh. The service guy has a very good attitude
I dont know any other places that do their noodles in-house like this in Ottawa except La Noodle. The guy that makes them stretches them, slaps them on the table and twirls them around. Very interesting to see. The portions are also big enough for almost all dishes. The only complaint I would have is that some dishes are too small or just too simple, and if you dont like loud noises, you wont like the noodles slapping hard on the counter that surprises you every time! Their choice of noodles is great though, if you want homemade noodles, this is the place to go in Ottawa.
The rice noodle is my new fav in town.
Absolutely delicious. Huge portions. Beef stew soup is flavourful and the noodles are plentiful. We highly recommend.
So delicious. Service is incredible and very accommodating. Dandan noodles are my favorite. They will substitute pork if you ask.
The soup is very good. The staff are very friendly. Yum yum.
kind and welcoming service! perfect place to have hand made noodle
Authentic and simply delicious soups plus warm and friendly service! My choice: extra spicy dan-dan!
This place is near Ottawa University and paid $2.75 for street parking. Nice clean friendly restaurant. A real hidden gem that you need to try. Glad that we found this place. Food : 5/5
Owner (?) was super nice and friendly. The noodles are great. Some of the best noodle soup in the city.
Food very tasty. Service very welcoming. Would definitely be back soon.
Best noodles in the area. Owner was really nice and helpful. Food
Found insects in my noodle but was told by the owner that this is NORMAL...
The place was empty when we went but that worked in our favor because we have a toddler. We had an overall positive experience , the quality is on par with other pulled noodle places in the area. P.S We didnt really understand the green tea mango drinks they were huge and super watered down .... Almost like drinking flavored water not sure if that is their intention.
First time at 98lala noodles today with my partner and 16 month old baby. The first huge thing is how delicious the food is, the hand pulled noodles are bouncy and chewy and ridiculously long. The second (and most important for parents and caregivers) is how accommodating and anticipatory the staff are of our needs. They brought our food in under five minutes, and without asking, brought a small plastic bowl and a pair of kitchen scissors to cut the noodles up into small pieces. It was so kind, I almost teared up! They double checked for allergies and spice level and brought us a complimentary appetizer. 5 stars!
Food is good, but service could be improved
Expensive but not tasty, spicy but there s no fragrance of chili. Don t recommend.
The price is moderate, and the tomato-based noodles, mutton skewers, and tofu skin are all delicious. The tomato noodles are not as salty as the ones in Xinjiang, this one has a lighter taste.
Dietary restrictions: Choose your favorite dishes Recommended dishes
This place has awesome food the workers are nice and that provide you with the best food. They make it very fast I highly recommended this place
Good food, great service.
Favourite local resto. We live nearby and go anytime we need some comfort food it consistently delivers and has become one of my favourite rituals. It s clean, fast, and always delicious. My fiancé s go-to is the beef stew and for me it s the soup with the pickled mustard.
Incredible flavors. Hand stretched noodles. Friendly service. Area is under scaffolds, but a great place to stop for dinner before OLT
Everything is good. You do feel like eating in a kitchen rather than a restaurant. Also I dont like the smell of food, stay of my clothes because of this.
Delicious food and fast service!
Worst Asian restaurant in Ottawa
This is our go to place for vegan, handmade noodles!
MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT OF ALL TIMEEE
Whenever my wife went for the haircut nearby this noodle restaurant, we headed over there for lunch. Its one of the best handmade noodles so far we have in Ottawa. Yum......
if u like yummy delicious food and noodles come here
The best Chinese hand-pulled noodle shop in Ottawa. The broth, noodle, meat, and the side order - everything was delicious and deep in taste. All staffs were nice and friendly!
Had food from this restaurant yesterday for our monthly company lunch at work. The food was excellent, generous portions and fairly priced. Highly recommend this place.
Not very impressed given the very good reviews we read prior to attending this restaurant. The veggie stir fry only had 4-5 small pieces of broccoli, tofu and some onions. That s it. The beef noodles were very good, however we asked for spicy and they were mild at best. The good news is that the handmade noodles are excellent, very fresh and tasty.Hopefully there are some veggies in the next veggie dish we try!
taste good
Best Dan Dan Noodles in Ottawa. Beef in Chili Oil is delicious. Traditional hand pulled noodles with beef was good with a very subtle flavour but add chili oil (available at the table) to add some punch. Cucumbers were OK. A lot of Chinese and can be daunting for people who dont read it but just dont be scared and ask! Theyd be happy to describe the dishes as best they can. Sketch neighbourhood so park close if you can.
Addictive hot sauce in the soup I had with those amazing fresh noodles . For days I dreamt about it and had to go back.
Got the stir-fry noodles - super delicious and the thick cut round noodles are fantastic!
Wow, its just amazing. Nice little shop with great personality. The food was great!
I went there the other day. The guy was super nice to me, it was my first time there and he helped me through the menu. The noodles were superrrrrr gooood. I totally recommend it to my friends.
The hand pulled noodles were so good. Great texture and flavor. Would definitely repeat.
Great noodle bowl! Very homey flavours. I tried the Beef Bowl with thin noodles. Noodles were plenty and the beef was super soft. It hit the spot. I recommend you checking it out if youre looking for comfort food or miss a home cooked meal.
Fantastic noodle restaurant. Large portions and great selection of food. Friendly helpful staff, will definitely go back again.
Best noodles I tried in Ottawa. Highly recommend!
Great noodles which comes in various sizes. Most dish are very flavorful and not as spicy as one may think so definitely explore the more spicy items on the menu as it is basically just more flavors and not more heat. Speaking of heat, temperature of the noodles were a bit outlandish so hopefully youre not in a hurry to eat them Absolutely delicious kabobs! The short ribs melted in the mouth like butter. Nice and Quick service. Overall great experience!
It is a great Restaurant you should try. Great Noodle and BBQ.
If 98 means club , then these noodles can make you dance! We swung by 98 La La Noodles near ByWard Market for a late afternoon lunch. We went straight for the Lanzhou Noodle, the eponymous hand-pulled noodles popularized in Central Asia. Beef Stew Noodles had many elements of a traditional Lanzhou noodle bowl: white radish, red chili oil, green parsley & yellow hand-pulled noodles. Braised beef gave a deeper broth. Noodles were well cooked through yet bouncy. I enjoyed the aromatic flavours provided by the chili oil along with garlic cloves, chili pepper, and plenty of parsley. The generous bowl even came with a soup ladle! Classic Beef Noodles were made non-spicy at our request. My spouse & kid quickly gobbled up their shared bowl, thereby dousing late lunch hangry appetites. Apparently this broth cooks for 20 hrs to bring out beef & chicken flavours. My wife commented the bowl tasted similar to authentic Lanzhou noodles; I tended to agree based on recent comparisons. The shop interior felt old school despite only being open since 2020. Past the front noodle station, there were many tables reminiscent of similar noodle shops. Service was kind, and my only wish was that noodles were served sooner!
Came here while passing by and glad I did. After spending a few days in Ottawa, I found the food to be meh while prices were high. This wasnt the case with 86 lala noodles. The portions were worth what you were paying. The noodles had a great texture and the soup was rich.
Service attitude is terrible
Fried noodles and kabobs are super delicious! This is my favorite place for noodles so far, Im definitely coming back
The food was absolutely delicious, I would definitely come again, as would my friends. In terms of appetizers, the beef short ribs were just heavenly. For my main, I ordered Xinjiang Stir-Fried Noodles. The noodles were chewy and the sauce was just so good. I dont usually like onions, but even the onion slices in this dish were delicious. For drinks, the mango tea was quite pleasant as well. Overall, Im quite pleased with my experience at 98lala noodles.
Absolutely fantastic noodles!! The dan dan just great!!!
I ordered La La Noodle through Uber Eats, and the Beef Stew with Noodles was phenomenal! The broth was rich, meat so tender, and the noodles are homemade. The only reason I gave a 4 star was due to the BBQ steam bun. It was dry, and lackluster. I will be ordering and hopefully visiting their restaurant again soon!
Friendly staff, quick service, and the food was yummy. I wouldnt go above the first level spice if you arent used to spicy food.
Flavourful, and hot! This Noodle spot was for sure a surprise to our tastebuds. Restaurant location is kind of small but they make do with it! Surrounding are is someone sketchy but well worth the tasty noodles. Oh my the beef was so soft and perfectly braised. The noodles are pulled by hand up front so if you want to see how the master does it then just turn around and enjoy the art of noodle making. Serving staff were friendly and ready to help when needed, just raise a hand and they ll come by instantly. Prices were fair as well.
Authentic taste and good service
This experience was very bad. The quality of the ramen is normal. The pork belly is very hard and the taste depends entirely on the spices sprinkled on it. It is indeed very poor and not worth the price. It was my first time to order Sichuan bubble tea. It tasted amazing, sour and spicy. It was delicious. The only drawback was that it was too salty. The hygienic conditions of the restaurant were worrisome, and many fruit flies were flying around us during the meal. There were several lying on the vinegar bottles, it was so disgusting.
Much better than other noodle places in Ottawa. The service is decent as well.
Delightful springy noodles with rich broths, generous portions, and great bbq sides. I especially like the pickled mustard beef noodle soup and the bbq eggplant.
Handmade noodles! I will be back for sure.
It used to be a very good ramen shop, but now they want a bowl of slightly spicy chili oil full of chili oil, and there is a whole chili in it. The waiter was not online the whole time, and he was full of energy when checking out. How much did he ask? Shameless forcing tips is disgusting. It used to be a good ramen shop, but now it has a slightly spicy bowl filled with chili oil and a whole chili pepper in it. The waiter was not online during the whole process, but he was very energetic when checking out and asked how much? The shameless forced tipping behavior is disgusting.
Very delicious. Broth for the dan dan noodles and beef noodles were very full bodied and flavourful. Noodles were pulled a bit inconsistently but their texture was great. Price reasonable too, will be back.
This is the first review Ive written in several years and this place deserves a really great one. The food is authentic (according to my friend from mainland China), tastes great, and the portion sizes are big. A small sized order of noodles was really filling for me and my other friends. On top of this, they somehow keep the prices down to what feels like pre-inflation levels. One of my friends paid less than $20 including tip (%15) and tax when he ordered a bowl of noodles. I paid only $23, tips and tax included, after ordering noodles with a side of BBQ buns. I really enjoy the atmosphere because its one where people can just come in by themselves and enjoy the food without feeling awkward at all. Really reminds me of places Ive eaten in East Asia in that sense. You can of course bring a group of friends, as I did my first time, and enjoy the great food amongst yourselves too.
Great flavours and a fair portion for a fair price. I asked for mild spice and it was still a little too spicy for me. Just something to be aware of!
Vegetarian options: Soup broth isnt Vegetarian but there are several vegetarian appetizers and fried noodles too.
Menu may be limited but their noodles are great; soup is very flavorful too.
very good ramen. Server is very attentive.
Not really authentic Lan Zhou noodles, and awkward room setting. The mutton skewers taste too sweet? ! Parking space
Excellent service, cozy place, delicious food
Sanitary conditions are very poor. The service is super bad, the worst I have ever seen in Canada. There is a layer of oil on the table and the menu, and flies are flying next to it. I won t say much about this. The boss set up a table for customers right next to the cash register. The people who came to pay were all standing next to the table. Some people were talking and spitting on the table. If there was food on the table, it would be spitting food. Yeah, its so disgusting. If this family cant pay the rent, why dont they set up a table in the toilet? I wanted to save some face for the boss, so I didnt tell him that his place was dirty in public. I just asked him to move me to an empty table next to me, but the boss refused to agree for a long time. I went to eat alone. I didnt want to take up more space and took the initiative to choose a single table. Later I found out that it was so unhygienic and there were three empty tables next to it. Why couldnt I change it? The customer thinks about him, why should he treat him like this? I have never seen a street restaurant before that did not allow changing tables, so I just changed them myself. As a result, he came over and said, I wont see you the same way today on the Mid-Autumn Festival. A person in the service industry has nothing to do but brings up the Mid-Autumn Festival to disgust customers. Have you ever seen something so outrageous? I explained the situation to the boss throughout the whole process without saying any uncivilized words, but the boss directly threatened the customer with a glare, Do you still want to eat here? Haha, this is the first time I ve seen such a weird thing chasing customers. Is yours the only hotel in Ottawa? I really gave this guy a hard time. Fortunately, the food was not served yet and we left immediately. Half a day wasted in vain, including when I wanted to place an order, the boss asked me to wait for a while and didnt come for a while. When I asked, he said he had forgotten. From then on, it was already very unpleasant. Besides, this guy was yelling at me while serving food to other people, and he also wanted to squirt Tumo Xingzi into other peoples food, right? If you dont have diamonds, dont take this porcelain job. If the store doesnt work well, just close it as soon as possible.
Wow! Delicious, affordable and great service. As good as in Asia! We will return there, for sure.
Good food, fast and friendly service and reasonably priced - definitely a great option if you want a relaxed atmosphere with a quick turn around time. Will be back!
Great handmade noodles. Very traditional and authentic flavor.
The quality of their noodles are getting worse and worse. Used to come here with my friends, and the Pork Intestine Noodles is always my to-go. Last time we ordered three noddle dishes, two of them were bad quality, I could barely find pork pieces in the soup and my friend s noodles were half raw. We decided not to come back again. However, I wanted to give this restaurant another chance today, unfortunately it s still terrible. The table was not cleaned, water marks everywhere, no vegetables in the soup (last time I could see veggies in soup), I could still barely find pork pieces, and the soup was really greasy. My friend didn t finish her dish because it tasted like nothing. The server was really nice but the quality of the food is not like before, hope they will make some improvements.
We forgot to take our backpack after lunch and we had passports and cash in it. The waiter run all the way down the street to find us and returned our backpack. We really appreciate it! Also the noodle was very good and the service was great.
Hand-made noodles are just excellent!!
Authentic and flavourful broth! We ordered lamb Kebab, Beef stew noodles and Beef with rib. Chinese sandwich was not too great but noodles were delish!
First time in Ottawa. We stayed a few minutes from this restaurant, I was craving for noodles and I saw this place has great reviews and wanted to try it. I think it is a nice place, both my husband and myself ordered the classic beef noodles, one big and one small. The size of the bowl was really big! I live in the US and believe when I said it was big, I think the small size is a pretty good portion. The broth was good and the beef as well. The only observation about what we ordered is that the noodles could have been cut in shorter pieces, this way would be much easier to eat it. Other than that, is a great place to have a nice and warmth bowl of noodles.
I got the classic hand pulled noodles and they were great. The service was also really nice. Pretty nice place to eat alone or with friends.
If the weather is cold and youre looking for a noodle dish, its hard to find a better place than here. The hand pulled noodle is probably best in the city and the broth is delicious and light (and can be very spicy ) and their appetizers are great too! Priced fairly for their huge portion, definitely will come back.
Best Dan Dan noodles youll find outside of China! Great staff and all the food is always consistent and delicious! Also the portions are huge, a small is usually more than enough.
Good noodle place. Noodles were what we were looking for and cooked how we wanted. Soup was delicious as well. The entrance is a little confusing, but overall a good place to eat. I wish the location was a little better, but you can come here by walking down Rideau instead of George.
The portions are absolutely MASSIVE and super tasty. Really authentic Chinese quisine accompanied with fast, polite and friendly service. My only recommendation would be to provide some smaller portions or come with a big appetite.
Barbecue is a ripoff
Big portions, tasty noodle bowls, reasonable prices. Perfect meals before going to the Ottawa Little Theater.
Ive always had good food here before, but the service was so-so. When we went yesterday, the guy really gave us 120 points of service.
Best Noodles I ever had. Hand made. Broth homemade as well. A real jewel in lowertown
Loved everything about this place first time here. And the service was fast. The food was delicious. The servings was amazing. And its hand pulled noodles and the service was faster than places that microwave ur food. It was also pretty steady with customers.
Food was delicious. Plan on visiting again.
They have the best food and the staff are so nice! New favourite restaurant!!
