Bad service for Uber eats

Tried to order dinner for me and my family tonight. Always spend over $100 here as we have a big family who generally used hing lung as our go to Chinese food! To our surprise the man on the phone argued with us for 10 minutes telling us they don t serve what we were trying to order. After I described his staff and open times and location and even stated I had photos of the food we order every time he suggested I was lieing. I never tried any other Chinese food in Ottawa due to finding this place first try and being content enough that we made it our family regular. Disappointed due to the customer service and lack of respect we will never return to a restaurant that basically called us a liar and wouldn t place an order for us! What a shame!

One of the best Chinese restaurants around. The staff is nice and the portions are great. Whenever I order there, I can easily get leftovers and a meal for another day. I recommend!

Always a pleasure our take out feasts from them. There will never be anything like Guyanese Chinese food outside of Guyana but for great delivery Chinese food always fresh always well packaged and always delivered in good energy I can t think of a better place in our area! Thank you Hing Lung!

Best chinese takeout in the byward market hands down. Highly recommend! It has become my girlfriends and mine go to spot for comfort food! Reasonably priced but not cheap. Well worth it! Only 4 star for atmosphere because you cannot sit in and dine as its a small place and only meant for pickups. Other than that its great authentic chinese!

Hing Lung is a Lowertown institution and the provider of delicious Chinese takeout and delivery since the 80s! Frankly they should be deemed an essential service because of the comfort their food and dishes provide to their loyal and devoted customer base (of which yours truly is one!). You can t go wrong with any of the combo plates and if you like it spicy, ask for extra spice and they ll be happy to oblige.

I said your website states 6 km and I m exactly 6 away. Maybe change your website if you think 6 km is too far! What a joke , taking my business elsewhere.

ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!! we love chinese food but have not had any for years. it was a special anniversary meal. we chose hing lung. now our go to place for chinese food and wont wait years for our next order to this restaurant. Generous portions, clean and fresh food, an array of wonderful flavours. we had general tso chicken, chicken chop suey, beef with brocolli, sweet and sour chicken balls, garlic spare ribs, chicken fried rice and a dozen egg rolls. love the egg rolls and came with extra rolls that really says alot to me about this family run restaurant. next time i may try something i have never had. this place makes great food. excellent, courteous and timely delivery service. Tried to make an online order but the site said they were too busy and would probably forget the order . Those were the exact words on the website. I then received a text message telling me that the order failed to be sent and if I d like to order then call the restaurant. I ended up ordering somewhere else. About an hour later I received a phone call from Hing Lung berating me on the phone for not calling and canceling the order if I had ordered from somewhere else! He was incredibly rude and when I explained what THEIR SITE said, he told me I should have been more careful and I shouldn t have trusted the website. Um, excuse me? It s the company website! If I can t trust it, then why would they and make the food anyways? So I guess we can trust the website?? Absolutely ridiculous. Work on your customer service.

I want my $80 back. Easily the worst Chinese food I have eaten Not sure what the grey watery liquid was that was supposed to be for the chicken sooguy. Only saving grace were the egg rolls. Definitely would never order from there again.

The spare ribs were so filled with sugar it tasted like a stick of sugar meat . The General Tao, one of my favorite dishes in western Chinese food, tasted sour. Why?!? I hope I dont get diarrhea tonight. Did I mention the delivery took an hour long. Never ordering from here again

I m the lady from Beausoleil drive. I order once a week usually. They know my order by heart and the food is always great and comes delivered in a decent time frame. Food is always hot once arrived and good. The delivery is quick and we are satisfied. I hope they don t take any vacation anytime soon. I love that spot and only order from that place.

Food took awhile but completely worth the wait as it came out hot and fresh to enjoy!! Good value for good food. The deep fried spicy beef is well recommended for its crunchiness and taste! We would come back again on our next visit to Ottawa.

Got takeout sent to our hotel. Quick service. Best Chinese food Ive had in 40 years. Its like my old neighbourhood chinese restaurant that is long gone. I ordered 2 egg rolls and then we were gifted 4 egg rolls. They are delicious. The best. So dont order egg roll if your order is a certain amount they are free. The rice, soo guy, wings, veggie dish were really good. We were two hungry people and we devoured most of it. Will never go stay in Ottawa and not eat here. Next time ordering a dozen egg rolls to take home and freeze, if they make it there.

hing Lung is one of the best if not best Chinese restaurant in Ottawa, we have been ordering for years , the entire staff is great and very friendly, the food is always fresh and hot , any time we call they know exactly who we are, it was our sons birthday today and they gifted us with a beautiful set of handcrafted chop stix, I would 100% reccomend Hing Lung if you are looking for great , good tasting authentic Canadian chinese food, if I could give more than 5 stars I would , thank you for your great service over the years , you guys are awesome!!

The food is always excellent and the service is even better! Ive been ordering here for the past four years since moving to Ottawa for school. Hing Lung is easily the best place downtown for Chinese food.

Amazing egg rolls!

This is the best Chinese food in Ottawa hands down. I don t like cooking and so I have become an avid loyal supporter of this restaurant. They know me well and my address. I Always tip the drivers well cause they come out and about and are always wearing masks and protective of our community. I personally love the girl I speak with on the phone. She is so polite and kind. She sent me free spring rolls because I gave her and the restaurant a big props. To the cooks in the kitchen my hats off to all of you people forget to give thanks and props to the people who actually make the food. Lastly, you guys were closed for a few weeks for vacation and I dearly missed my favourite Chinese restaurant!! So glad you are back now and I must say I am proud and happy that everyone that works at your restaurant is FULLY VACCINATED!! Makes me feel very confident in ordering your delicious food. Couldn t be more disappointed. Nice service, but not the baste tastes..Ordered the General Tao and it was bitter and smothered in soy with no sweetness or spice, which is most important parts of a decent General Tao/General Tso! I suspect they use a generic chicken but advertise it as multiple other flavours. More importantly however, the portions are tiny!

Great good best Ive ever had

The prices here are insane with tiny portions of food. It was basically 31 dollars... and the beeef curry wasnt even completely full. And it didnt even have chopsticks in the takeout bag. Im very unimpressed with this places given the high reviews I saw on google.

Vey good food, seasoned very well, healthy and tasty. Prices are a little steep however, and thats whats keeping me from giving it 5 stars. But once in a while, a great, healthy treat.

If youre looking for good Chinese food, you have to go there. Everything on the menu is delicious. Plus they have a good deal for egg rolls. 12 egg rolls for $12. This place is a must!!

Terrible service. I cant tell you how the food is. I called at 5:23 and its now 6:53 and I still dont have food. When I called, she said the driver will be on the way. Still waiting....

Pros: Delivery was fairly fast under 40 minutes. They were friendly and informative on the phone Cons: Springrolls were undercooked Chicken fried rice was very plain and overcooked and very mushy with minimum soy sauce I asked for one of my 4 rootbeers to be substituted for a orange crush but all 4 were instead The general Tso was a smaller portion for the price compared to other chinese places also very bland Noodles we ordered were suppose to be crispy but in the end they were just overcooked. The chicken wasnt really seasoned or anything. I wouldnt personally order here again but i have been told by friends that they are good so maybe it was just a one off but unfortunately i wont be back.

Hing Lung is comfort Chinese food. Its not truly authentic but the regular dishes are tasty, the spicy dishes are spicy (and you can ask them to make them extra spicy) and everything is good. The 12 egg rolls for $12 pick up special always ensures we have leftovers for snacking on later!

I never write reviews but I certainly have to for my experience with Hing Lung. My dog recently had been attacked and has stitches in his stomach. Cant leave him alone because hell scratch them open. I ordered food and when I got there with the owners came outside and I briefly explained. They took my credit card, tapped it, and delivered the food outside no questions asked. as for the food. American style Chinese food that was better than average. the hunan chicken was spicy and good. Would skip the spring rolls but these folks will always have a customer in me. Support good people.

Eat here because Pikachu will sell you a dozen eggrolls for $12. Classic stereotypical American Chinese takeout experience with HK vibe. Food is good.

I ordered delivery , and when i opened my Général tao chicken the container was half onions or cabage and very little chicken. Very unhappy!

the first time i ordered from Hing Lung i was a bit dissapointed with my order since my food was underseasoned. but i am very happy i gave them an other chance. i have ordered multiple times from them afterwards and evreything was always spot on. they have some of the best chicken balls, and spare ribs ive had and the service is always very fast.

Ordered Cantonese chow Mein and got what my taste buddies were looking for. The delivery time was spot on. The driver was polite and full of smiles. I ll be calling back ASAP

First time and last time ordering there. In the combination plate, the fried rice was not what you call a fried rice it was nearly white with 2 green peas in it.The chowmein had peppers in it to my surprise. And my order of cantonese chow mein was fulll of red, green and orange peppers with no sauce and 2 shrimp. I was not a happy camper last night.

Much better places out there. Ordered 5 dishes and none of them were up to par. Im not a picky eater and this is the first time Ive ever thrown out chinese food. Tried to return it the next day and found out they closed shop for 2 weeks. All I say is go somewhere else, it is unacceptable to miss the mark on all 5 dishes.

Subpar food quality with small portion for $50+ orders, Always forget menu items on order and inability to create substitutes for items on plate. Gave them multiple chance to recoup, but they failed. Do not recommend. Order on Friday Nov. 23 came took over 50min. To arrive.

Had been a customer since 06 and since then all I can say is that the food has gone way down hill. Do yourself a favour and order real Chinese food from Chinatown on Somerset St downtown. This stuff will give you gut rot. I ordered a Ribs which were old and the meat was hard to chew, The fried rice had a strange taste, thought it was just me and ate more. That night I was very sick to my stomach continuously about a hour after I ate their food. I am not ill with a flu and had food poisoning before and this was that. Dont eat here. They stretch their food.

The combos here are great and so is the chow mein. I came here right before closing and expected my food to be thrown together (nobody likes cooking for a dude who comes in 5 minutes before close) but everything was succulent and crisp. The vegetables must be fresh because they still had bite and were full in color. Really impressed with the quality. Super accommodating staff also!

Great chicken balls.

This is my second time here and boy did I miss this place. So we had a party of four and the wait was a little over an hour since its the dinner time rush but awesome thing is you can roam around and they text you when your table is ready. I ordered the salmon en hoja and was thorougly disappointed because the sauce was just inedible in my opinion.

The food is tasty, best bread to meat ratio for chicken balls i have had yet. I am quite disappointed however that when odering 12 eggrols they only give a a little bit of plum sauce. It is stupid to only get enogh sauce for 6. Very disapointed in how cheap they are with people...

Spicy dinner for two was delicious and good value for money. Chicken was crispy and all the food was fresh and piping hot. Upon picking up my order, the fellow at the front was cheerful and we had a laugh. We are definitely going back. (spicy could be a bit more piquant but I will ask to up the heat for next time)

Amazing food awesome delivery!

I have been here twice for my personal favourite, beef and broccoli with steamed rice. It has been very fresh and perfectly cooked both times! I have had better spring rolls but Ive also had worse....they are still tasty, could just improve the filling. The man who has served me both times is very nice and cheerful! Thank you!

We tried this out for the first time tonight and will definitely be going back again. We ordered beef and broccoli, chicken fried rice and sweet and sour pork (Cantonese style). Everything was spot on! The service we received was quick and very friendly.

Great place for North American style Chinese food!

I ordered two combos F and honestly I just spent 35$ with delivery and tip for very bad chinese food. The sweet and sour sauce for chicken tastes like diluted ketchup, the fried rice is not even fried, its just regular rice and soy sauce. To be fair, the eggrolls and eggroll sauce are good. I called them to ask if I could get my money back as their food is just bad (I put it in other words of course) and the lady said that I shouldve picked something I like and that they cant give me my money back, as they are a business, which is fair yeah. I would like to add that she was very respectful, even to someone complaining about the bad quality of food. So overall I am now hungry and out 35$ for terrible, terrible food. Im so surprised since the other reviews seem to be mostly positive. I never write reviews for anything but I wouldnt want anyone else to be fooled and end up with this awful food. Would not recommend.

The hot and sour soup is amazing, it has the perfect consistency and has an authentic taste, (not like fake sweet and sour sauce that a lot of places use). Vegetables are always fresh! Very nice driver !

The best garlic spare ribs Ive ever had! Everything we ordered was delish- just what you would expect from a Canadian Chinese restaurant. The portions were filled to the brim in those white styrofoam containers, typical portion size :) The staff was very nice as well!

The chicken fried rice was ok, the garlic spare ribs had more fat than meat and the general tsos chicken was the biggest dissapointment by far.. not good at all and most of it in the bowl was all cabage and barely any chicken!! We felt very ripped off and paid a lot for such a small portion of the general tsos chicken and didnt even get our moneys worth, we didnt pay for cabage! Never going back. I dont know about other dishes there but thsee are our favorites and so since they didnt do a good job we arent going back.
