Very bad experience! We called at 10:30pm to ask if we can dine in 20 minutes after ordering. They said yes, and we left three minutes later and called to confirm the menu. They changed their mind and said that we cant order in advance, because they are worried that customers will not go after ordering. And they didnt apologize or explain anything about it, their attitude was very cold. Very bad experience! We called at 10.30pm to ask if we could dine in if we ordered now and arrived in the store in 20 minutes. They said yes and three minutes later we were off and on the phone to confirm the menu. They changed their words and said that they could not order in advance because they were worried that customers would not go after ordering. And they have no apology or explanation for this and their attitude is very bad!

Either you have to wait for more than an hour for the food to be served, or the waiters are not professional enough. If you can open it, you can open it. If you cant, just say that you are intervening in the preparation of food for takeout.

BLAH! We ordered from Anns Donburi from an app but the food came from Papa Spicy. We normally like spicy but ... All four dishes incredibly spicy even though the app menu doesnt say the dishes are spicy or the menu ask you for spicy level and we requested mild. Also very oily and way more rice than veg/meat

We ordered the Dried Pot Bacon Cauliflower, but when it was served, it was far too too salty to eat. We politely asked the server if the dish could be recooked, but after a few minutes, the server came back and told us that it tasted good to her and refused our request. It s unacceptable for a server to taste a customer s food and then be so defensive about it instead of addressing the concern. This level of unprofessionalism is shocking. Instead of offering any solution, we were essentially told to deal with it. We left disappointed and will not be coming back.

I ordered a grilled fish and added 5 side dishes. I added dozens of yuan for the side dishes. Every side dish was almost invisible and the fish was so small. I won t go there again.

Usually I dont write reviews but the experience here was too rough. There was enough salt for a horse. Especially the beans. We breathed in cigarette smoke at our table. Finally then ordering system wants to sign you up and verify your phone number which is a bit of a privacy invasion. Also after the first visit no one came over again. We would have liked to ask some questions. Not coming back.

Very unprofessional staff, I do uber eats delivery on bicycle, I got a order and it shows will ready in 16 minutes, but i wait there for 1 hour but the food was not ready after waiting for 1hour, i told one of the staff to fill water bottle she fill the bottle with hot water, even i told her to fill with cold or tap water. Then i cancel the order. Very unprofessional staff.

THE place to go for authentic Sichuan-style Chinese food in Ottawa. No watered down flavors or spiciness. Its as real as it gets here. The Mapo Tofu is top notch and some of the best Ive ever has. The málà seasoning and broth is perfect.

The food is delicious and the price is quite cheap. My friend and I ate alone, and both of us had diarrhea and stomachache for a day. Food hygiene needs attention.

Wow! Loved the Maos Braised Pork and the Griddle Cauliflower with Salty Pork. The braised pork is so rich and literally melts in your mouth. The cauliflower is perfectly crisp yet tender, and I was happily surprised to get the flowering type (thinner and in my opinion extra tasty). Excellent balance of textures and flavors over all, and great portions for the price too. Looking forward to trying the rest of the menu.

If you haven t eaten for more than 20 hours, there will be an insect on the first bite of food. Do you think it s disgusting or not? The green peppers in the farm-style stir-fried pork are rotten and black; the eggplant in the stir-fried eggplants has been in the refrigerator for many days and is so stale that the skin is wrinkled and has dark brown spots. The first time I ordered takeout from your place, I ordered dry-cooked prawns. The shrimps were left in the freezer for too long, and they may have been defrosted once or twice in the process and became smelly and spoiled. I didn t ask for a refund from Uber that time. Has been our go-to restaurant when we are around downtown Ottawa since the location opened. Great services and they have the most authentic and delicious Sichuan dishes in town. They also have a wide range of non-spicy dishes to choose from.

Last week, my Qingdao friends and I went to a very good place called Liu Gong Grilled Fish. Mao s Braised Pork, Grilled Fish and Egg Fried Rice are all good! It is also close to Capitol Hill and is in a central location! Everyone can come here to eat when you have time!

I had an awful experience at a restaurant recently. The food wasnt as described, and the waiter was unresponsive to my requests for assistance. When I went to pay, I was told that I had been given the wrong dish. To make matters worse, the waiter demanded a tip even though the service had been terrible. I left feeling disrespected and violated. I wouldnt recommend this restaurant to anyone.

The beef tendon ordered on Uber Eats was not spicy when eaten in the store before, and it didn t have any chili pepper at all. Why is there still no label on the beef tendon now? I wonder if some people are sick and can t eat a spicy bite? I also marked other dishes as not to be spicy. Does that mean I put all the chili pepper into this dish? Didnt eat it, threw it all away

The ingredients are terrible and stale. The bullfrog looked like it had been soaked in formalin. I ordered spicy chicken, but what I was served was chicken popcorn. The key is that there was no meat in the chicken popcorn, it was all flour. No exaggeration, it was my first time eating chicken popcorn without meat. The ingredients were extremely poor and not fresh at all. The bullfrog seemed like it was soaked in formaldehyde. I ordered spicy chicken, but they brought me chicken popcorn instead, and the worst part is that there was no meat in the chicken popcorn, only flour. Dishes here are pretty decent and original instead of being modified to please local patrons. In fact most of the dishes are spicy, rich of flavours and very tasty. The prices are reasonable as well. I ve tried a lot of their dishes and most of them didn t let me down. The most recommended would be their appetizers and fish dishes. By very contrast, their service can use some work. We ve been here for three times, and their service were always bad, especially the service we received from one of their waitresses who looks at guests funny. Once after waiting for 20 mins, she didn t intend to come take our order but chatting at the cashier with someone, and we had to go to her and drop our menu; another time without asking for our permissions, she kept our changes as her tips; in our last visit, we received two same dishes from her by mistake. It s quit confusing for us how she was hired for this job. The other waiters were not very helpful neither. It would be lucky if we got checked once during our entire stay there. If we need more water or napkins, we normally had to go the cashier and asked for it. In general, this place feels more like a buffet where patrons help themselves. It s quite a bummer given it s a place with good food. It definitely shrinks our wishes to go frequently. Too bad it was supposed to be a 5 stars place to dine. Probably only go when you are in a great mood and couldn t care less for the terrible service.

I had watermelon crush tea and mango yogurt. I didn t liked watermelon very much but mango was very good. Also be aware that outside the shop there are plenty of homeless people.

The food here is excellent. Extremely flavorful and not too spicy. Everything is well balanced. The lamb was incredible as were the crystal noodles. Many have complained about the service. This is not a North American style table service restaurant, you guys have set your expectations too high! You mark down on the menu what you want, hand it in at the cash and your meal is delivered to your table. When it is time to pay, go to the cash. If you do this, you will have a fantastic experience and not be disappointed.

Very bad attitude

I paid cash and got a 10% discount. I ordered in English and they accommodated my allergies although they accidentally left the allergen in my food and replaced the dish. I came here on a Saturday around dinner time and it filled up quickly. The servers kept waking up and down to see if patrons needed anything and also replaced my spouse s napkin when he had used it up! I normally do not enjoy servers checkin in on me but they were so pleasant :) The service here is so friendly. I walked in and gesture for two people and they pointed me to a table set with cutlery and plates then brought over some water. I filled out my menu using their erasable marker. Since the staff was busy eight other people at the cash I brought my menu over and told them my allergies (peanuts) and the server said they would make it without peanuts. When the food came one of the dishes had peanuts (the cold dish ox tongue and beef slices in chilli). So I told the server and they apologized and were so nice about it. They offered to make a new dish and it came out so quickly. I ordered the following dishes: - the ox tongue and beef slices in chili oil under appetizers (cold dish called fu qi for pian) that comes with peanuts and tripe - Pork belly with green pepper - lamb stir fry - two bowls of rice (small bowls) I would recommend all three, especially the ox tongue and beef slices in chili. The taste is amazing. The lamb stir fry dish was so tender and the best version of this dish I ve had in Ottawa. The pork belly and peppers was a bit spicy since the peppers are jalapeños or something similar but the taste is very good. I will return and try their hot pot or dry pot next time. After my meal I walked into Shu Yi to get bubble tea (there is a doorway that connects the two businesses). Dietary restrictions: Dairy free, egg free, peanut free
