tried their bento boxes a lot of times but dine in for the first time. the boss is helpful and rlly cares about his customers. Waiters are nice. and i rlly like their atmosphere it’s a small but rly cozy restaurant. Food was absolutely amazing with big portion and price is rlly decent. will come back again for sure :)
In summary, after tasting the food and talking with the owner, this is one of the few restaurants that I genuinely hope will grow bigger and continue to thrive. They have a "hidden menu" with items like crayfish and Shandong fried chicken, which might not be on the official menu yet as the owner is still testing the dishes, but they are incredibly delicious! The braised beef rice on the menu is well-seasoned and tender. I came to Ottawa to apply for a visa and did extensive research and preparation. This new restaurant wasn't on any recommendation lists, but I stumbled upon it by chance. In just a few days, I've been here three or four times because I want to try every dish they offer! I overheard the owner chatting with customers and learned that he has a master's degree in architecture. He realized that Ottawa needed authentic Chinese cuisine, and since his family runs a restaurant in China, he feels a sense of mission to bring authentic Chinese food here. His passion for this restaurant, his enthusiasm for cooking, and his dedication to the culinary business have deeply touched me. I sincerely hope this restaurant will continue to thrive and that the owner achieves his aspirations!
Ordered curry egg rice with fried chicken and spicy beef rice today after work, the food is as good as usual. Highly recommend beef rice, unbeatable delicious! First time try curry rice with fried chicken, it's pretty cripsy and mixed so well with curry, recommended.
Tremendous authentic Chinese food. Ordered the beef rice bowl, came with some cabbage but the braised beef was beautifully stewed, large pieces and was a large portion (double portion compared to many other places). Great friendly service. Setting is dated and small but food and service more than made up for it. Amazing find and will be back again!
The beef here are really worth a try: they are tender, flavourful and fresh. They are some of the best braised beef I have had in Ottawa. The rice bowls have great portions of protein for the price (they are generous on the beef). The owner cares about the quality of his food and is willing to take feedback. This is the type of small local business I am willing to support!
This is your sign to eat here. It's authentic, fresh, unique and a real gem of a restaurant. Don't sleep on Ting Jun. I live nearby, I always order here even appetizers. It's open past midnight - I believe Fri-Sat? Have to check. But ya.. unreal. The Crawfish special is insanely good, bean burrito, takoyaki, and the scallion pancakes I could eat forever.

i don’t usually leave reviews like this, but this restaurant is so good. I got the beef noodle and the brisket was amazing! Also the soup was so good that i finished all of it! My friend got the spicy brisket with rice, he also finished EVERYTHING, yeah it’s that good. The owner is very chill and friendly, we had a very fun and interesting chat. he also gave us free snacks, it’s a very down to earth vibe. loved it, will 100 percent recommend.

My boyfriend and I ordered lunch boxes and fried chicken from this restaurant, and they were both delicious! ! ! The bosss self-selected dishes are very healthy, delicious and affordable. They are a very good choice. The two of us chose four dishes and they were all very delicious! The fried chicken is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside and very juicy. The boss is particularly nice. We chatted a lot. He is very down-to-earth and attentive to the control of the dishes. They also provided a lot of help to us two out-of-towners... Authentic Chinese food. Tasty yet not over seasoning over oily like many Chinese restaurant. The owner oversees everything to ensure quality. Basic seating which is ok since it caters to to-go and delivery clientale. My first try but will definitely go back.

Hands down the best stir fried chicken in the city and it s top three in Ontario. The young owner was an engineer by trade whose family has a restaurant empire in China. So the taste is on par with real Chinese food, upon talking to the kid, he said he wanted to use his hard work to establish a foot hold in Canada, and you can taste it in his food. Highly recommended.

The boss is nice and chatty, and the dishes are all great. The beef brisket is super tender and delicious. You must try the chili oil! It s fragrant enough! I ate up all the food. I loved it. Sometimes it opens very late. You can ask the boss in advance. The fried chicken is delicious and the takoyaki is delicious

Affordable, delicious, big portions
During our tour of Ottawa, we found this Chineses restaurant that served authentic Chinese dishes in the downtown area. We tried it Sunday night because it was the only one open late near the Delta Hotel. We were pleasantly surprised by the taste of its beef dishes. I was so impressed, I brought a group of 12 people to the place for dinner Monday night and everyone was highly satisfied. The owner and server were very friendly and we got first class food and service, including complimentary hot tea and small treats. This is truely a gem in the Ottawa downtown area. If you enjoy Chinese food and happen to be in the area, it is a must try, highly recommended!

Food: tasty as ever! Pretty authentic Chinese cuisine at an affordable price. Atmosphere: late night eatery. Pretty calm place and you can see the chef cooking your order in the kitchen. Service: order at front, eat at table. Time: as fast as cooking goes. Everything is prepped fresh and thus occasionally may have item unavailable due to already sold out. General comment: New owner! They re still using the sign from previous owner as they haven t got the maker over done yet, but the food is a millions time better. Fried rice is perfectly balanced between moist and dry; while also have that wok-hei people chase after. They also have the best tasting fried chicken nugget in town, try it and you won t regret.
