Our waiter, Mustafa, was fantastic. He was lots of fun and had great whiskey and gin recommendations. We had a great time at the bar!
Mustafa..our waiter was so excellent..he tuned me on to some of the newest Gin selections.... and brought some excellent choices for me to choose from.. the food was also so good. ..I also received a free Birthday dessert..as this is my Birthday weekend...I can't recommend this place enough to anyone that wants to have a unique experience in Ottawa....the view alone is worth a visit.. a special Thank you again to our waiter, Mustafa.
I had the pleasure of being served by Heather during my visit, and she was absolutely outstanding! From the moment we were seated, Heather greeted us with a warm smile and a positive attitude that made us feel instantly welcome. She was incredibly attentive, making sure our drinks were always full and checking in just the right amount without being intrusive. What really stood out was her ability to anticipate our needs. She remembered all of our special requests without missing a beat and even suggested a few menu items that turned out to be delicious! Heather was not only professional but also personable, taking the time to chat with us briefly, which added a lovely personal touch to our dining experience. Heather handled everything with grace and efficiency, never letting it show if she was stressed. It’s clear she genuinely cares about her customers and takes pride in her work. Thank you, Heather, for making our meal so enjoyable! We’ll definitely be back, and we’ll be asking for you by name.
Me and my husband went for cocktails and food. Service and ambience and food and drinks were all great. We were served by Mustafa who was great. He made us very comfortable and even accommodate our puppy and Wayne made us some yummy drinks. It was very relaxing and fun experience!!!
Rooftop bar was awesome, we had Mustafa look after us all week - super friendly and chill! Go say G’day! Room 1203!
The terrace is very good with nice view and good service. Coctails and drinks are good, you may enjoy them with excellent view.. Make reservation if you want to have your drinks in a nice spot.
Went for my birthday...had a few drinks, oysters, calamari, chip with dip. Went on the rooftop for a few pictures. It was ok, great view.

Great service from Marcus at the bar! I had a wonderful experience here while visiting the city! Food
We had a reservation for 10 people which we reserved one week prior. The place called us 3 hours before our reservation time to tell us that our reservation had been cancelled last minute due to unforeseen circumstances. I expected a place like this to be more professional and respectable towards their clients. Very disappointing.
Spectacular view!
lovely bar! comfy atmosphere with fun music! ask for Mustafa; hes the best definitely coming back!
Amazing views, great cocktails and even better service!
Lovely evening with a great glass of wine and nice food. The best part was our charming and welcoming server, Mustafa. Restaurants would be, in general, all more successful if they had service like this!
Mustafa gave us the best service and recommendation! See you soon.!
We ended the evening at Copper to enjoy a glass of wine and dessert. Mustafa recommended a lovely wine and crème brûlée! His service made our evening!
Mustafa Oguz ! Best service in town at Andaz! Come see the man ! Food : 5/5
We had wine and appetizers, everything was great. Our server Mustafa was incredible, very attentive and charismatic.
Marcus & Mustafa were absolutely outstanding this evening will ask for them everytime
One of the best bars in Ottawa; always friendly service and awesome (albeit on the sweeter side) cocktails.
I am very pleased by the place and I was being served by Mostafa and it was a great experience.
A memorable evening between lovers at Copper Spirits and Sights in front of one of Ottawa s two beautiful sights! The service was very pleasant, especially Mustapha who was simply perfect, discreet, careful and very friendly. We highly recommend the address for a romantic cocktail with a beautiful view.
Snuggled up in the blanket provided by the house, the rooftop view and the warmth of the fireplace made our remarkable night even more special. The Pinot Noir was the perfect touch to mark the beginning of a tradition we hope to continue. Aldo ,Mustafa who helped us that nice ,genuinely welcoming and pleasant Food
Mustafa
Had a great night with my friends at Copper on Saturday night. Mustapha offered great service and has very good suggestions on whiskeys and scotches. Will definitely come back for the same experience.
Best Margarita ever tried , it was really good. My wife ordered white wine and it was very good as well, this place is the best for a date.
Had a great time and vibe, Mustafa was amazing and made the experience even more seamless!
Our server Mustafa was very friendly and had amazing recommendations! The view, music and general atmosphere were great. Highly recommend.
Spectacular view of the city. The mojito and carmel bruee were very delicious. Mujtaba made our dining experience truly enjoyable with exceptional and friendly service. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Mustafa made our night! He went above and beyond trying to make it right on all levels. Thank you Mustafa, great asset to the place. Food : 5/5
The place is super cute however I didnt feel like my money was well spent. The cocktails were good, just like the service.
We had Mustafa as our server and he was excellent! Definitely would recommend.
Mustafa was an absolute delight. He took care of us and made sure we had a good time.
Mustafa created an atmosphere of fun, food and wine! He really knows his stuff!!! Will request him next time I come here!!!
Mustafa gave us phenomenal service. Helped us with won t and food choices. Made our experience much more enjoyable. Above and beyond!
I recently visited Copper Spirits and Sights in Ottawa and was really impressed! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with magnificent views of the city. The staff are exceptional, always smiling and ready to advise you on drinks. Their cocktails are a real delight creative and perfectly balanced. Too bad they arent served with some appetizers. I especially liked the margarita, which had unique flavors. Its the perfect place for an evening with friends or a romantic date. I recommend Copper Spirits and Sights and Im sure Ill be back soon!
First time stopping by and was in awe of the view, drinks and Darias incredible service. Will be back again
You want view in Ottawa paired with great food, drinks, service and atmosphere then this roof top bar and restaurant delivers!! Highly recommended and why not make a night downtown and stay and their cute boutique hotel!!
What a view, whate a place! Must have a drink in this chic place
Great views
On my birthday, I had a terrible experience at this place. Despite reserving a table through OpenTable and requesting the patio and the best seat, I ended up waiting 30 minutes and was given the worst table available. To make matters worse, there were empty tables, but the staff refused to let me move. They didnt say to me happy birthday, making the experience even more disappointing. I decided never to return to that restaurant. Thankfully, my evening improved when I went to La Terrasse at the Fairmont. They seated me promptly, and the service, food, and view were outstanding. The Fairmonts excellent customer service made all the difference, showing how well they understand and value their customers.
Very bad experience. I had reserved a table for the outdoor terrace with a view of the city for an important event. Unfortunately there were only tables inside. Im really disappointed given that the efforts were made for the reservation. Very disappointing staff attitude.
This was a beautiful restaurant with a wonderful view of downtown Ottawa. The food was delicious!
Heather S was my service and she was so attentive and great
The best date night lounge bar. The cocktails are stunning and refreshing. Probably the best view in all of Byward Market.
Came here for a birthday. Food was good, we were happy with it. The charcuterie board was good value, it leaned slightly to quantity over quality but thats ok, sometimes thats what you want. The Service was nothing to write home about. Polite and a little slow but when you consider that a proper meal, dessert and drinks for two will end up north of $200, the service has to match. The view/atmosphere is fantastic.
Andrew Tate look a like manager doesnt know how to take care of tables properly and made multiple mistakes with our orders non-stop instead of having an actual waitress come to our table to be served properly. On top of that mess they accepted our reservation telling us they would have seating available, they did not.
Justin and Taylor went above and beyond to make my friends and family welcome! The atmosphere, service and drinks exceeded our expectations!
Nice ambience. Good music. Unmatchable views. The location is very beautiful. Make sure to visit before sunset to get the perfect subset view. The view after sunset is amazing as well. The service is great as well. A nice place to visit for sure. Would have liked more options in food though.
Wonderful spot with view , negroni snd dessert was delicious
Gentle and fast service, perfect atmosphere and music to gather and relax with friends and family + drinks
Fun place to have a drink to start your evening.
On the 16th floor of the Andaz Hotel, its a chic lounge thats all about the ambiance and the views. The panoramic vista of Ottawas downtown from this spot is simply breathtaking. When it comes to food, its on the pricier side and fairly decent, though it may not blow you away. However, their drinks menu more than makes up for it. The Rosemary Gin Fizz, in particular, is a personal favorite and a must-try. Heres a pro tip: if you can, make a reservation during the Les Grands Feux du Casino Lac-Leamy fireworks in August. Youll get a front-row seat to the spectacular fireworks display, making for an unforgettable experience.
Underwhelming, two stars for the view
Absolutely beautiful cocktail spot with an outdoor patio and views to die for. Lovely waitresses and great relaxed upmarket atmosphere
Very nice lounge bar for a romantic meeting
Service is hit or miss but the view lands every single time and keeps me coming back. Price point is a bit high for what you get but its never poor quality.
We loved it. Great view of Ottawa. Great service. The food was good but could but a bit better.
Besides the view not worth it. We were treated very poorly by staff. We had a reservation and tables nit full however no table offered. Wrong drinks served to us. Staff is snooty unless you are 30 something. The management should get things fixed
Came on a Saturday night for my birthday with my partner. We got some virgin drinks and the charcuterie board and some entrées. The mocktails were amazing and the charcuterie was good. The other food took a long time to come but the waitress did let us know that it was delayed. Amazing views. Really loved the atmosphere and they had a DJ playing music. Will definitely return.
Our server was excellent but its obvious they arent getting the support they need from the kitchen to do an effective job for the guests. Kitchen needs to put more care into details. Either they arent able to or arent willing to but if they did they could really take the experience to another level, an experience worthy of the beautiful location.
Great spot for drinks. The view is beautiful, and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend the enzoni!
Awesome views with excellent service.
It s about time Ottawa got a rooftop bar. The views truly are amazing, the interior and the patio is nice, but the drinks are quite pricy, and the service isn t always the best either. There actually isn t a lot of room on the inside, so it can get really crowded in the winter months.
Wonderful view of the Market. They make a mean Whiskey Sour too!!
I attempted to make a 16 person reservation, however online opentable told me I would have to call the restaurant for the reservation. Upon calling Copper and Spirits provided phone number on their Google listing and telling them I would like to make a reservation with the restaurant, the man on the phone immediately told me to make the reservation online and hung up the phone.
It was raining the day we went, but we had a cabana so it wasnt a problem. The service was great! The food is very good. Just didnt love the price point on the charcuterie board but other than that great experience overall.
One of the best place in ottawa with this amazing view
We had an amazing time during our visit. Great food, amazing cocktails (I recommend the whisky sour), and the atmosphere was wonderful. We were even graced with some fireworks over Parliament Hill! Cant wait to go back!!
Very expensive servers are rude. Just avoid this place
The view was nice...otherwise very disappointing especially for an upscale place. It was not very busy when we arrived, yet we waited a significant time for drinks and then food. Waitress (Kiah) wasnt checking for us. Had to grab the attention of another waitress to refill water and bring napkins. Food arrived before cutlery and then they didnt even provide a spoon for the creme brulee. Again had to ask for this. Artichoke dip was tasty but the stale, dry, unseasoned baguette pieces served with it were terrible. Very overpriced and limited menu. Cant believe even a virgin drink was almost the price of a fancy alcoholic beverage. I would not go back or recommend.
honestly great service, great atmosphere but I will be completely honest and tell you that the food is equivalent to a hungry man in the freezer at Walmart. patio is gorgeous, come here for a few drinks you ll have a great time just don t order food Food
Terrible service. No one checked on us even once and at the end we waited for 40 minutes to grab our bill.
Incredible views !
secret hidden gem not a lot of people know about
Ceviche was pretty good, Burger mediocre. View spectacular. I will not return again.
Amazing view
Music is so loud you can t hear the other people talking at your table. View might be great, we were sat behind a pillar where we couldn t see anything. Ordered shrimp cocktail. It was overcooked and rubbery. Worst birthday dinner I ve had.
Amazing view but worst service I have ever had. Took them an hour to get us one drink. Didn t even get food at that point. In 2 hours timeframe we only got 2 drinks despite trying to order more and trying to order food. Servers nowhere to be seen despite it not being busy and given attitude when told that we were disappointed with the service. Forced to pay 18% gratitude for a group of 5 despite the policy saying for groups larger than 6. Absolute scam of a restaurant. Will never return, waste of money. So many better places in Ottawa.
Nice view but nothing more. Went for the brunch with the buffet and it costed 185$ for 2 people. Not great food for the cost. I was expecting way more!
Visited Saturday evening while I was in town and was seated at the bar and Kate served me. She was super personable and knowledgeable and recommended the bitter fairy and made it half sweet for me and it was perfect! When I m in town next I will definitely be coming back & bringing the girls! Thanks again!
Food was decent. Service isnt all that. Bunch of young people who think they are too cool.
The view is beautiful but not so good that I wouldnt notice that I had been charged for a cocktail that I hadnt ordered. Already a very expensive cocktail for a whiskey sour flavored with nutmeg on top of that... $17 before taxes and tips. Not only did I not receive an apology, but I also had to negotiate to win my case with visibly inexperienced employees. I was treated to rolling eyes, sly glances, sighs of impatience. In short, below everything. They finally agreed to offer me a slight discount with all the condescension they could display... We wont go back. I already have the breathtaking view at home from my PH on the 25th floor.
Cute spot! Definitely over priced though
Stopped in on September 26 for a drink with a friend from Vancouver. It was bit of a chilly fall evening, but the fire pit and blanket kept us warm while we enjoyed the lovely views of Ottawa from this unique perspective. The service was very good and we enjoyed our cocktails (a Moscow mule and cosmo) and small plates (the potstickers and scallop ceviche). A lovely evening.
1st time on this roof top bar! Great view of the market and Hull!!
Did not try the food. Drinks and atmosphere are fantastic. Anna, our server, was very nice. Particularly enjoyed the music and view. Service
Caitlyn provided great service and great music selection - fantastic place for those who like espresso martinis!
Went for Beats and Brunch - Valentines edition. I had never been before and the view was awesome. It gets pretty toasty with all the glass windows so dress accordingly! The food was OK - we went for the second seating (1PM-3PM) and the food was rather cold and some items a little soggy (e.g.: the waffles from the chicken and waffles, and the toast of the avocado toast). The flavours were good, but I imagine the first seating to be better with the food being fresher. The items that were prepared immediately beforehand were good (e.g.: arancini and short rib balls). A little underwhelming for the price. Would try again for drinks in the summer. Something to note, some restaurant goers didnt wear masks when serving themselves at the all-you-can-eat parts like the charcuterie board.
Beautiful sights, nice drinks and good music!
Made a reservation for a Sunday occasion two weeks in advance. Got an email 2 days before to confirm the reservation. By pure luck, on the day of the reservation I called in to confirm and was told they are actually closed on Sundays by the hotel concierge. Tried calling the actual restaurant several times but went to voicemail each time. Thanks for telling me in advance I guess? Cant comment on the food but terrible customer service - had to scramble to make new plans with less than an hours notice.
I am a big time foodie and this by far was the worst experience I have ever had. First the drinks are way over priced and felt watered-down...next there was only one food item available on the menu. The most offensive part was when I let my server know that went to the roof top part. At first she was okay with it only to come up to me 5 minutes later to inform me that the bar manager told her to make pay after very order and to pay up the two drinks right away. I consider myself an honorable person and have no reason to even consider not paying any bill.I am a visible minority and noticed that several people (all of which were Caucasian)did the same as me an not a single one of them were asked to pay per order. I just paid what I owed and left . Very disappointed and will never ever go there again.
Amazing drinks, great views, affable service! Break the bank and enjoy it all the while.
Great service!
I ve been here maybe 3 times and 2/3 experiences were an absolute bust. The first was for a Canada Day event where we were told we couldn t make reservations. Of course when we got there the rooftop was dreadfully packed, but a couple was nice enough to make room for us. The manager then went around putting reserved signs down on tables (including ours) when I asked about this the manager immediately had an attitude. The drink menus were replaced with bottle service menus that were absolutely ridiculously priced. (The regular drink menu alone is already shocking!) The manager told us unless we were ordering bottle service we had to leave. Pretty outrageous considering we had confirmed days earlier that we weren t able to make any sort of bottle service reservation at all! I was extremely offended. My second experience here wasn t as awful but definitely made me realize that this place is NOT worth the hype. We went to the rooftop on a Saturday after having dinner downstairs. The music was awful and again, hardly anywhere to sit. Most recently, we tried for TWO WEEKS to book a reservation for a going away party and there was not a single person to answer the phone. Since our group was larger than 6 people, making a reservation on open table was not an option. E-mails went unanswered as well. Just absolutely deplorable service here. I recommend spending your money elsewhere.
Great view, great beer, and Melena was a great server. They are just getting up to speed having only just reopened after a long pandemic-related hiatus, so the food choice was limited. The quality of what is on offer is very good, and the menu will be increasing shortly.
Best high-end cocktail bar in Ottawa, great service and the views are amazing. When s the last time a skilled bartender discreetly asked, Was it made to your liking sir?
Reservation process was annoying and pretentious. It asked for my credit card, which I find sketchy.
My husband and I had an amazing date here! The views are beautiful, and the staff is SUPER friendly. We loved the music too. Yes, the drinks are pn the pricey side, but this is the case for most rooftop bars anywhere in the world. I would recommend making reservations in advance (we did, and we had a great table). I would recommend it to anyone visiting Ottawa!
Ok. I have read all the reviews and in truth, I found the staff courteous and trying to help if they could. I saw parents with their young kids there, showing them the magnificent view at night. So let s sum it up, this is a place to sit back and enjoy the beautiful views of Ottawa, especially in the evening with special people you enjoy. If you are looking for a grand food experience there are better for less money. But if you re looking for a nice place to sit down, ignore the costs and enjoy the evening with awesome music this is the place to come! I gave it 4 stars, because we ordered 2 drinks, both of them where G&T s and none of them came with any garnish. I would have thought when you order an $18 G&T it would come with its own unique garnish. But then again, we didn t care at the end, we realized that like the majority, you come for the view and the amazing lounges with their own fire pits and amazing music to enjoy the evening.
Great place and great cocktails
We had a great time. The drinks are good, pricey at around $20 each, but youre paying for the view. The service is excellent. We came post dinner so did not eat but the food at other tables looked good. I think you need a reservation to get a table outside. We had one and enjoyed a table by the glass along the edge. There are tables for larger groups set back and a couple of them have fire tables. Would be nice if they dimmed the lighting. Lights were so bright it takes away from the atmosphere and the view.
My friends and I went yesterday evening, and had a great experience! The view is amazing, and the food is of fantastic quality. We had the charcuterie board, the pate, and the short rib. They also have a menu with just different types of Negroni cocktails - amazing!
Great view and good drinks. The service the extremely poor. We were there for an hour and a half. The server only came to our table once and never asked if we wanted a second drink. We had to ask for the bill three times and eventually just went up to the host stand. They were still slow to get our bill. They were probably understaffed but the customers shouldn t be punished for that. Overall, it s an amazing view, but would not recommend due to the service.
Definitely one of the nicest places in Ottawa. You can not go wrong with this patio- the sights were magnificent. We happened to come during the firework competition, which made everything even more beautiful. Service was impeccable! Our waitress was incredibly attentive and kind.
Great views, cocktails were good and creative despite prices being on the higher side The short ribs were to die for, despite its high 42$ price tag 4/5 because of the prices, definitely worth a visit!
The rating is given for the view. Its splendid. To have ! For the bar and restaurant, there is no effort given to the presentation of the cocktails, the contents of the plates and even the service. My comments left when booking were not even taken into account.
Certainly this tries to be a upscale restaurant/bar from what they have on the menu and the prices, but the service lacks personality. Dont get me wrong, the views are amazing and the food certainly good, but just not worth that kind of money.
Excellent view, solid drinks, but not the greatest service. We had to wait really long for each round of drinks and the cheese platter is not worth it for $39 when there s only 4 slices of cheese. :( The lounge itself is nice but it can get pretty loud, making it hard to hear people over the bar noises and other tables nearby. So if its a busy night you might be yelling across the table. Great view of the fireworks though!
Amazing! Cocktails were absolutely fantastic and NOTHING compares to the view!! Really enjoyed our experience here! I wish I remembered our servers name because she was absolutely fantastic!!!! Thank you! We will be back!
If you can get a seat on the patio, its one of the best views in the city. Especially if you want to see fireworks over top of parliament hill. The food is overpriced and mediocre. So if youre looking for good food, take a pass. If youre looking for a great rooftop patio with a good vibe and cold cocktails, check it out!
There is no denying this place has an amazing view and one of the best patios I ve ever seen. But unfortunately that s where it stops. The customer is paying for an experience that simply isn t there. Drinks were subpar, and the food over priced. To pay over $200 for a seafood tower that had a tin can of muscles that the server tried to sell to us as high end was insulting. The charcuterie portion was not even enough for one person and came with no utensils. The service was poor and there was a lack of attention to detail and care. Honestly our group was very much let down. This would be a place to go for maybe one over priced drink and enjoy the view then move on to somewhere else. I will never go back .
Normally, I prefer to give a restaurant a second chance, and have a conversation with a manager about poor service before writing an unpleasant review. In this case, the manager was schmoozing the table beside us, and didnt seem to have a care in the world about anything else going on around the restaurant. A great side view of parliament hill is about the only reason to venture to this place. From cans of beer arriving without a glass to pour them into, a very lackluster yet expensive charcuterie board, and service that at best was not really sure what to do, or when to do it. We wont go back, and would never recommend this as even a place to have a cocktail. There are so many better places to visit in Ottawa.
It is absolutely ridiculous. There were no people. Empty tables and still the hostess insisted there is no place. Terrible service. Terrible attitude. It does not make sense such terrible service in the bar of a hotel. Horrible place. Horrible experience. Horrible service.
Very poor service and attitude - don t even try
Amazing view. Amazing vibez. Service was wonderful. Drinks were pretty bad although the price was really high. When you pay so much money, you expect a better service.
So glad I got the chance to check this patio out over the summer. BEAUTIFUL view on a sunny day. I recommend making a reservation before going, though staff were suuuuper accommodating for our walk-in. The drinks were good, if not a tad expensive, but hey, you re going here to be fancy. So, BE FANCY!
I cannot say enough if your in Ottawa or in the area this is a must Nothing will beat he view and the food This is a experience everyone should do at least twice a year Your wife s birthday and your anniversary A must
Went for date night with my wife and we had to bring along our 18 month old daughter with us. The manager was so kind to our kid and graciously let us order chicken tenders from outside because they do not have toddler-friendly food, which we really appreciate. Excellent cocktails! Tried the excellent Negroni and finally have a sip of Laphroaig Lore. What a treat and what a kindness shown to our toddler by the staff. Will definitely come back for business purposes :)
Great view, but the service and food was really sub-par. Way overpriced, a seafood tower for $200+ with canned mussels not worth it.
Good Place to Enjy the sunset with drinks!
Uses OpenTable restaurant booking app. It s impossible to get a hold of anyone by phone and emails go unreturned. Not an efficient way to run a reservation system nor is it providing a valuable service to the customer.
This place has the worst management team, we booked a 30 person party and showed up and they lost the reservation. One of the male managers more or less told us we were lying regarding the reservations. Thankfully my friend found the email that said the reso was confirmed. This place is a joke, they must go thru management on a daily. NEVER GOING BACK!!
I had a wonderful experience here. My server, Kate, was very friendly and helpful. She did an amazing job at suggesting cocktails and food items. She always had a smile on her face and was a delight to interact with. 10/10 would recommend and 10/10 would return here.
View is good, but the drink is so so
Waited 20 mins for a drink... then 1 hr for the next. The place was not even busy. For the cost of a drink I would expect better service ... too bad wonderful view
Great views of Ottawa at sunset, a place to have drinks and appetizers on a date or simply with friends and family. Take in Ottawa simply from the roof of a hotel
Best thing about my experience here was Nick. He was a great server and by the time I blink, the drink would be in front of me. He made some nice recommendations and good conversation as well. The staff were accommodating and moved my 8 month pregnant wife and me to comfier seats. The drinks were something I was left disappointed in - I had the Locks de Canton (not enough ginger), West block (refreshing but too sweet), Byward shake (way too much cayenne pepper), and the Basil smash (least sweet and nice basil aroma). Overall, it is a nice way to be downtown but get away from the crowd. I would go back for the nice view, the cozy chairs, and the ambience. I dont think I would have more than one drink next time.
The weirdest cocktail bar I have ever gone to. The lights were on inside so you could see every person dining in there easily and could not see the view as the light reflected off the windows. The service was poor and the margarita was one of the worst I ve had. I was expecting a cool trendy rooftop cocktail bar and copper missed the mark on every point.
Great gem of a spot here! Exclusive to hotel guests only at the moment due to COVID, but were able to bring some friends as guests. Staff were very accommodating on this chilly/windy evening and let us move to a fireplace (bring a jacket, even in the summer!). Drinks were pricey, but you won t get this view, atmosphere and so few people (not crowded) at any other Ottawa venue!
Incredible view! Worth checking out
You can always get the best shot in this bar,
Best view ever! Located in the heart of downtown. They make off the menu cocktails! The bar is small, can t hold much crowd which is good(social distancing). However, I just find the place a little warm. But overall, a good place to hangout. Price wise, affordable.
This is there $22.00 martini...... and they take it away from you half way threw...... I dont think I am ever going back, not worth the cost just to see the city. (and this was my first drink with a friend) Went back another day and the service was rude and dismissive, they told me to come in because they have multiple spots, so I went in and waited a half hour for someone to show up and tell me they are full? It took me 5 minutes to walk over? NOT WORTH IT!
I ve been waiting for them to open for public dine in s since last year! We finally went The drinks and the food were delicious, and talk about their view of the city! The flying canoe cider was delicious, even for me who doesn t like cider so much. Shrimp cocktail was tasty but a typical expected taste. The duck confit grilled cheese was extremely delicious, I would highly recommend this to others! A great dining spot, I would visit again!
Awesome venue for a company party.
Great place for a view and a drink!
Great views, decent drinks, super expensive.
Most amazing cocktail I have ever had !!! And the amazing view tied it all together. Will be coming again soon.
Rooftop fires close at 9 for some reason. Several reserved tables sat empty for at least an hour all right along the windows with the view. Not very impressed.
Really nice vibe for grabbing a drink with beautiful views of the city. The only downside is they stop serving food - even snacks at 10pm which is way too early. Would be nice to have a snack with your drink. Cocktails are pricey but I enjoyed my elixir drink.
HORRIBLE! Deplorable service with a haughty hostess who clearly doesnt care about her customers. The cocktails and food are nothing special and the prices are high!
Jaw dropping views with even more exceptional service, this team took care of my gfs 22nd birthday and our waitress krista and host jessica made sure the experience was extra special. Just the very best
The cocktail menu is tempting but the barmaid needs to know how to make cocktails! At $17 per cocktail, no effort made on quality or presentation. As for the service, we will blame it on covid but I no longer recommend this place. The star is just for sight!
Worst experience ever !! Despite of a prior reservation, we were given a rustic table in corner of rooftop patio. It started to rain, and our table was left unattended for atleast 30 min. The staff were extremely rude and unprofessional. Would not recommend to people wanting to go there to enjoy the views, with some drinks. There are many more options apart from this. Highly not recommend.
Great service
Expensive, slow, overpriced
The view is awesome, best view in Byward market. The food is just so so and the price is a bit expensive. Never try the wines...
Great views and the food was nice. We were there in the late evening and it was a bit jolting when they flipped on the full lights at closing time to chase people out. The pleasant ambiance created by the firepots was lost. Perhaps they could get a dimmer to gently encourage guest departures.
Amazing view of the Parliament Hill. Huge food portion for the price. Yummy food... Definitely will recommend..
Good food great atmosphere great view
We had the best experience ever. Our server, Matt was fantastic. He went all out to make sure we all had the best night. We were celebrating my best friend s 50th birthday. She felt very special. Also the view is unbelievable. My family s favourite place in the city. Love it. Highly recommend it. Also try to get Matt as your server. RUPAL MODY
We had the best experience ever. Our server, Matt went above and beyond to make sure we had a fantastic time. We were celebrating my best friend s 50th birthday and she felt very special. Also the view is unbelievable. This is my family s favourite place in the city.
One of the most dreaded reviews because I don t want others to come here! Not a lot of space but an unbeatable view of Ottawa! You ll be lucky to see the summer fireworks from here so get there early! Good drinks, on the more expensive side but worth the price for the spectacular view Very good DJs and live music
Great view, did not try the food but looks awesome and free to go to the top.
Recently visited the Andaz rooftop bar for the Canada Day event and am not enthused about the level of hospitality my party received. Our first disappointment of said events literally started at the door. A promo for the night offered free entry for guests who arrived before 8 pm - something our party decided to capitalize on. Having arrived at 7:35 pm, we thought we were in good shape to enter for free, unfortunately we hit a lineup after stepping out of the elevator on the rooftop floor. It was apparent that there was some disorganization at the front of the line - completely harmless. Due to the hold up we were left waiting in line for 20 ish minutes, when finally arriving to the front at 8:01 pm exactly. This is where my entire party was met with an unsympathetic $20 cover. I explained to the hostess that my party had actually been in line for 20 minutes patiently waiting so that we could enjoy the night without paying a ridiculous cover, and while she recognized our plea, was unwavering in her stance to charge us $20. We dealt with our misfortune, still excited for the cocktails and view atop the Andaz. It was quite busy as we walked into the bar, so we grazed for 20-30 minutes waiting for any sitting area to become free so we could prepare to view the fireworks, still an hour away - this was especially hard to come by as the event itself was exclusively first come first serve and the online promo made it very clear that absolutely no reservations could be made prior to. Finally coming upon a booth, our party settled in, ordered food and drinks and began to enjoy the night with friendly neighbors. This was short lived. Sharply, the hostess and THE MANAGER approached us. Before addressing us at all, the manager threw a reserved plaque in front of our faces, pointed her finger and motioned us to leave. Obviously unpleasantly surprised we questioned her request, having earlier been explained that reserving a table was impossible. The manager seemed immediately defensive, sharply noting that the table was reserved NOW, and we had no choice to move or leave the rooftop altogether. Im still quite shocked with the tone she used; we genuinely seemed to have offended her or her role in the hotel by asking why we had to move. The friendly neighbors we met at our table were more so annoyed by the confrontation as they had been staying at the hotel for a 3-day stay-cation specifically to view the fireworks (spending lots of money in the process). The manager was persistent in demonstrating how hot tempered she could be as she continued to talk down to both parties - pointing her finger in any number of faces, responding with snide, unapologetic comments and degrading any level of hospitality that the hotel had previously showed the friendly neighbors. Disheartened, our table mates decided to return to their hotel rooms to salvage their Canada Day celebrations, while our party wasnt as lucky. We left our table and continued to search for any room left on the now chaotic balcony. The only saving grace for the evening was the several old fashioneds I ordered to lighten the previously squandered mood. I would have hoped that an event catered at a hotel would focus more on hospitality and client relations, rather than their regard for power differentials between manager and guest. I will be happy to spend my money next year on a friendlier atmosphere instead of $17 cocktails and aggressive confrontation.
Uncomfortable seating designed to ensure you dont stay too long
Amazing view, great service and cocktails. Not the best for food though. Perfect for dates
Beautiful rooftop lounge with a wide variety of cocktails and craft beers, good service, but go there for the views. Amazing views just put everyone in an upbeat mood!
Rooftop outdoor patio. Check. Best view of Ottawa with a cool refreshing drink. Check. Nice selection of beer, wine, whisky & whiskey. Check. Cool, friendly staff. Check. Yes, this is what the Dr. Ordered. (Ok, not really, but its great for the soul).
Nice place. Expect a long wait if you want seating. Drinks are expensive
Nice view. Pretty small plus very crowded and either understaffed or staff is not competent enough, and overbooked. Staff at the bar are the best though.
Loud, chaotic, and dirty are the best words to describe this place. They tell you up front that there is minimum $30/person spending just to sit on the patio. Not really a problem, as everything here is pricey and you will rack up the bill quickly. You used to be able to go upstairs and take in the view without the pressure of having a table or spending there. Now, thats not the case. Huge lineups that seem to have no order to them. Food and drinks are underwhelming for what you pay. The service is lackluster and does the bare minimum. The music is so loud that you can barely hear yourself speak. The washrooms were filthy and had little signs of maintenance throughout the night. The views are indeed unparalleled, but they get old quickly with the pretentious atmosphere of the place. It is a shame, because it used to be a well-kept secret when the Andaz first opened, but now everyone and their dog are trying to get in there.
Great food and decent beer selection. Amazing panorama of parliament and the market.
Had a reservation and was rushed out an hour later to make room for a party coming in after us. We were told that there was an hour and a half seating limit. I was prepared to spend at least an hour there and spend a considerable amount of money there, but was unfortunately rushed out. Strange policy, won t be going back.
Good drinks but the vegan app option was gross
Very nice
Horrible service. Was there for 20 minutes and no one said hello or even took our orders. Over priced for no reason. If you are going to over charge make sure customer service is up to par. It is not. Extremely disappointed!
Great view, but drinks are seriously over-priced.
The best view of Ottawa
This bar does only one thing extremely well: the views. As advertised, the view at this bar is unlike any other in the city. Unfortunately, this view is negated by awful crowds and expensive drinks. All of the tables lack privacy, and we repeatedly had our table surrounded by a large crowd to take pictures, or had other people coming to sit down at our table. We were looking for a classy experience to celebrate a birthday, but it was soured by the invasion in our personal space
One of my favourite spots in Ottawa. More of a cocktail lounge so don t come here looking for a quiet dining experience. The drinks are expensive, but it s expected at a place with a view this nice.
A great location to have a nice night view of Central Ottawa is a beauty which enjoying a lovely glass of champagne and delicious meals too.
Service was good. Was expecting a bit more posh venue and seating. Lounge chairs were dirty and not supportive.
5 star view, everything else is good enough.
Ordered a double vodka and orange juice, which should be pretty straightforward. I have no idea what the bartender did but it was terrible. And I mean undrinkable. Hubby ordered a gin and tonic and he screwed that up too. Used club soda instead. All of this for the bargain price of $32.
Very beautiful, unfortunately the place does not have much space. Ask before going up if the terrace is open or not. Consider making a reservation if you do not want to be seated at the bar as tables are limited.
Nice place, I enjoyed the scenery out the window, staff very friendly and attentive. Not a great selection for food, I was told I had to go downstairs for that. The only reason I gave it only three stars is their prices! Some sort of meat and cheese appetizer, what I would refer to as a ploughman special in a pub was $25. And Im a cider drinker and I just paid for the most expensive cider Ive had in Ottawa at $10 for a can and that is before taxes and tip! Still a nice place to go for a nightcap to end the evening.
Very nice place to visit, have a nice evening with friends while enjoying the beautiful view of the city. Cocktails were delicious, specially the one with Mezcal. Snacks were also really good, definitely recommend the mushroom queso fundido.
what a view
Fancy date night, live DJ when we went on Saturday night, make a reservation, on the expensive side but so worth it, bartenders very attentive and nice
Nice place to chill before dinner. See me sunset! Good service. Good cocktail. Interesting snack
The lounge is nice. The music is good. I came on a Friday and was surprised that they stop serving snacks at 10pm yet are open until 2am. Good area to view the city. Bathroom is well designed. No smoking area for winter though. Drinks priced high but expected. About $17 for a cocktail. What is the justification for the drink? Probably the atmosphere.
