Aiana Restaurant Collective in Ottawa

We went last Friday for a friend s birthday dinner. We were a group of 10 and were placed in a private room which was nice. We were offered a menu which had a lot of appetizing choices. I settled on the Foie Gras for appetizer and scallops for main. The presentation was on point. Sadly, we could barely taste the foie gras. Portion was small which is standard in this type of restaurant but you d expect the taste to be on point. Other people who had also ordered the foie gras were also disappointed. Two people ordered the prawn appetizer and were disappointed that it was a plain cooked prawn with a crab salad. Someone had the Bannock and they really enjoyed it. The portion was huge. The scallops were good but again, it was missing something. It just felt underwhelming. The dish came luke warm. I had a taste of my partner s halibut which was really good. Someone had the pasta and thought that it was missing something acidity. She didn t finish the plate. I finally settled on a desert called mango. Which was lacking a lot of mango flavour. Tasted more like cardamom which I like but again, the overall flavours of the dish were lacking. The only word I can find is weak . Others had the arabica which they enjoyed. The waitress was nice but wasn t very experienced. The wine bottle was placed away from our table and we had to get up ourselves to refill the glasses on two occasions. Some people received their dish 5 minutes after the rest of the group. Some elements were missed (that were supposed to be added table side) and I had to point it out twice to the waitress. I ordered a decaf coffee which was very watered down and definitely not worth 8$. Then we had to wait over 30 minutes to get our bills. There were 3 couples who had their checks together and the remaining were solo, 7 checks in total. 3 checks had errors on them. Another 10-15 minutes to have them sorted out. Service was included. I don t know how much it was but it was certainly more than what I would ve given. We then found out that some people were offered a coat check, we didn t know that it was an option until it was time to leave. I m not sure if we just had bad luck on that night given all the other stellar reviews. For 330$ for two people, it was certainly not worth that. Unfortunately, I won t return

Our waiter made the experience great! (Saving the stars in my review). Hostess could use some work. The menu should be updated online and in person, vegan options should be listed, its 2024 Dietary restrictions: They need to add these options on their menu

What works of culinary art! The dishes were so thoughtfully and deliciously rendered and presented. Standouts: Fagottini entrée and Arabica for dessert. Just wow.

I celebrated my birthday with my husband at Aiana last night. The food was super delicious and the staff were above expectation.

We celebrated an important milestone with friends at Aiana, and had a fabulous, memorable evening. From the service, to the food, to the cocktails and wine, to the ambiance, everything was perfect. We were enjoying ourselves so much, I forgot to take photos! Vegetarian options: There is always a vegetarian option. Dietary restrictions: The chef is very accommodating, and there is always a gluten free option.

Were big fans of this restaurant. Since its opening, we had dinner at Aiana more than ten times, most recently on August 2, and we introduced a dozen people to it. Each time, we and our guests have come to the same conclusion: this restaurant is the best in the region, and one of the best in the country. Had the chefs tasting menu. Presentation: 10/10, service: 10/10, the food was overall great. The dessert was underwhelming. Staff are professional and formal and could be perceived as somewhat pompous. The service fee is included, which is nice. Overall, it was a good experience.

We went there for lunch and had a fabulous meal. The food, ambience and service were excellent. Staff were charming. It is relatively expensive but it is worth it, and service is already included - a pleasant surprise to the bill. Thoroughly recommended.

This is a gem for many reasons. They pay living wage to their employees. No tips. Top class service from Shaun who couldn t say enough great things about the owners and management. When you keep your employees happy, customers benefit and I had a great time. Great ambiance, great farm to table menu. Setting an example for other restaurants to follow. I ll be back again soon.

The tasting Menu is incredible & very refined! Cuisine and service worthy of a 5 Diamond restaurant!! The passion and exceptional talent of the chef is reflected in each of his dishes!! The very warm atmosphere completes the experience!! We tasted each of the Tasting menu since opening, And this one is the BEST for us! Already looking forward to going back!!

Overall, I dont feel the need to return. I had drinks, appetizers, a main course, and dessert. Unfortunately, none of the meals were fantastic. The starters were okay; the best part was the bannock. Its hard to mess up fried dough, and they were tasty. My main course was salmon, and it was just okay, not great. The entrée and sides didnt have a lot of good flavor; they were just passable. When I saw the Nanaimo dessert, I thought it was going to be fantastic, but it was only good. I feel it could have been much better. Overall, the food looked great but lacked flavor. I would not recommend going here, as it is overpriced for the quality of the meal.

I enjoy dinners at Aiana, service is immaculate, fine-dining with the highest of quality and creativity. Anyone looking for a quiet luxury dinner, this is the restaurant. Highly recommend :)

My husband and I plan most of our trips around exceptional food. On our recent travels to Ottawa, Aiana did not disappoint. Sean, our server, went above and beyond, ensuring every aspect of our experience was sensational. If you haven t been, it s a must. Aiana will exceed your expectations and leave you salivating for more.

Chef kiss in regards to service and the food. Im originally from MTL and I find it hard to enjoy fine dinning in Ottawa. The cochon was delish! Definitely a repeat.

We stumbled upon this fabulous restaurant when looking for a place to have supper. The food was excellent but the service and experience was what made the evening. From the somalier to the chef and everyone in between took time to welcome and thank us for coming. It seemed like everyone genuinely cared for every patron in the restaurant. worst customer service, I wanted to make a reservation for 8 people and the person on the phone was one of the most unpleasant and rude people I had to deal with he didnt answer any of my questions and took care of me a haughty air for Simple question incredibly disappointed.

Today , I passed the restaurant with my partner and decided to go in for a drink!! I was I surprised by the entire experience. The service we received from Sean was excellent!! He made one of the best classic bourbon sours I have tasted in a very long time!! As well, from the time we stepped in the chef sent over an amuse bouche which was delectable!! As well the main dinner scallops melted in our mouths!! I will definitely be recommending this place to others and will go again. Hidden gem Downtown and worth the trip!! Thank you for a lovely experience!! Very impressed !!

I am surprised this place did not make the top 100 restaurants in the country recent list. Every morsel of food exploded with new tastes. The oysters were to die for. All of us tried something different and nothing disappointed. Very pricey (service included) but well worth it. Amazing traditional Bannock (1st time I see this in Ottawa).

A wonderful restaurant and dining experience, run by a world-class team. Their tasting menu is one of the best meals Ive had. The dining room itself is gorgeous -- modern, stunning, romantic, and spacious. It has great lighting and sound balance. The kitchen is completely open to the dining room and provides quite a spectacle for those interested in the cooking process. The chef and sous-chef themselves came by to present a couple courses. The service is wonderful -- attentive, informative, and kind without being overbearing. The wine list is excellent, and the front-of-house team provides great recommendations and guidance upon request. The food is spectacular. We had the opportunity to experience Aianas tasting menu, and strongly recommend it. The tasting menu currently begins with a course named The Four Flavours of Life, featuring a series of small bites (an array of amuse-bouches, similar in spirit to the sakizuke opening course in traditional Japanese kaiseki cuisine, meant to prepare the diner for the meal and introduce the chefs style). This opening course dazzled in its variety in terms of flavour, texture, and presentation. The rest of the menu expanded on these themes with wonderful variety, showcasing many ingredients both local and luxurious with respect and creativity. Every course was delicious. Highlights include the caviar and truffle courses, as well as a unique take on foie gras. The tasting menu ends with some lovely ice cream and desserts, including a final course of petit fours, in a sense mirroring the opening course but in dessert form. Truly a talented team at Aiana. They were also very kind in accommodating our dietary restrictions. Thank you for the wonderful evening! Dietary restrictions: We reached out ahead, and they were very accomodating. Kid-friendliness: Aiana recently began offering a kids tasting menu titled Little Chefs. A table nearby ordered it for two children, and they seemed to really love it. Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is fully accessible. No stairs are required for entry, and the washrooms are accessible and gender-neutral.

Fantastic experience. All dishes were delicious; with the foie gras, wagyu, and sorbet being exceptional standouts. The wine was paired as if the dishes and wines were designed together. The menu successfully brings together traditional Canadian flavours and fine dining.

Excellent prix fixe dinner! It was a bit expensive, but well worth it. There were a large number of courses, ranging from single bites to small-to-medium sized dishes. I did the wine pairing add-on and it was great, with 6 pours of a range of wines that paired incredibly well with the food. The service was great and ambiance was nice. The food ranged from super fancy versions of simple dishes (mushroom risotto with truffle, smoked salmon with asparagus [& caviar], halibut) to very fancy and nice (foie gras in chocolate, wagyu beef, seafood one-bites). The desserts were quite good too, with multiple kinds of bite-sized petit fours and some lovely matcha/lime cheesecake and multiple interesting fruit sorbets. One of the best fancy meals Ive ever had!

Amazing food, best cod I ve ever had. Very good service & also a unique ambiance for Ottawa! The presentation is immaculate and & the appetizer bread is also really great. We loved our experience and will definitely come back!

I ve been looking forward to try their tasting menu for my birthday unfortunately I found out after calling that they are not willing to make any substitute for the seafood dishes that are part of their tasting menu even when I said that my husband is allergic to seafood. They said they will just take the seafood out if I want to make reservations. So if the tasting menu has 10 courses and 4 of them are seafood, my husband would get just 6 items. For the price they are charging I had high expectations that they would be willing to do alternatives. First time I ve been turned down by a fine dining restaurant due to reasonable food restrictions.

My partner and I had the valentines 3-4 course option and every single dish was remarkable. Definitely going to go back and am looking forward to it! My wife and l decided to celebrate Valentines Day this year at Ai na. We were informed that they are having only one menu for that evening and we have to pre-pay($145/person) for the whole meal in advance, which we were happy to. The evening started with being seated at a table which was directly by the bar. We were told that we can not switch seating as every table was already booked but there were 3 empty tables when we left. They offered no complimentary bread basket, and straight away it went to the first course, which consisted of three small offerings, one of which was a single oyster for each of us. After these few bites, we waiting for the next course, which was a soup-like concoction that had some truffles inside a baked good in the middle, which was delicious. After this, they went straight to the main meal, which was flavorful, but small in size. (I tried the wagu and my partner had the lobster). This was followed by a dessert plate, which once again comprised of 3 bite-sized sweets. We were hungry when we left - we felt that for the price we pre-paid for the meals, there should have been at least 2 more courses (compared to other fine dining we had)

Bad experience. Its 9 p.m. on February 17, a good Friday. We turn to look for another restaurant because at Aina we have just been told that it closes at 9 p.m. while on the website it is 11 p.m. We had reserved for 8:30 p.m. online We are told that we cannot see our name or our number

Overrated, food very average. The atmosphere is very cold not cozy and not friendly.

Interesting experience. The chef is thoughtful with flavours and presentation. Some unusual, even daring combinations; it feels like they love creating beautiful food with new balances, but at times perhaps it felt a little too intentional? The menu is written in such a way that it would be easy, while deciphering, to feel inadequate, but the truth is that it is unnecessarily opaque. In one case the menu intended to reference kabocha squash but is instead a misspelling of kombucha. The server was able explain all the dishes and honestly almost no amount of fine dining would have enabled one to order without assistance. The space is open and airy with large windows. I had hoped to see the blue interior lighting the way it is shown in the photos hers but it wasnt turned on, or were there any candles or much accent lighting, so it is lovely but not particularly romantic or private feeling. I did like their choice of locally sourced sparkling spring water!

The food was exquisite - from the freshly baked Bannock to the 3 Sisters Soup to the Candied Pecan Salad to the Duck and Fish entrees - every dish was a delight for my taste buds! The desserts were especially memorable with their unique flavors of saffron, cardamom, pistachio, and maple fudge. To top it off, they even gave us a complimentary dessert for my husbands birthday! The atmosphere at Aiana is perfect for any occasion - whether youre looking for a romantic dinner or just catching up with friends. And whats more? They pay their staff a living wage so no tips are necessary! All in all, this place is definitely worth visiting if youre looking for an unforgettable dining experience.

Great experience

The food was incredible. I think if you like something you see on the menu, order it and have your expectations met or exceeded. Or, try something new and let their experience cater to your palette. It was awesome as someone who is new to fine dining!

Excellent ambience and service for a fine-dining experience. The grain with the bannock, honey butter and berry jam was actually my favourite- was a very ingenious presentation. The cod dish was cooked to perfection, with the lightest, crispiest crunch on the outside and super juicy and tender fish underneath. As many dimensions of flavours as it offers (salty, acidity, minty/curry aroma) it would be nice to have a bit of sweetness added to dish as well. Loved the taste and the tenderness of the scallop dish, would be nice if the scallops were larger. By the way, the sidecar was also amazing

I am thrilled to have discovered this fantastic restaurant just a few blocks away from my home. Everything about it was absolutely delightful. The dinner I had at this establishment felt like embarking on a journey of amazing surprises for both the eyes and the taste buds. The food was simply unbelievable, with outstanding flavors that surpassed all expectations. The service provided was top-notch, leaving no room for disappointment. The atmosphere of the restaurant was incredible and added to the overall experience. On all levels, I would give this restaurant a flawless 10/10 rating.

I decided to surprise my boyfriend for his birthday yesterday and we were extremely excited to experience Aiana since the reviews were marvelous. The service was nice however the actual food was a huge disappointment that is definitely unworthy of its cost. Weve ordered a foie gras and black wallnut for the aptz. Sadly, both of them lacked in flavor. Specifically, the foie gras itself was bland and unsavory. The black wallnut salad, was missing its main ingredients as described in the menu.. had more green than actual content. When it came to the entrées, my cod was overcooked, dry and dull. The scallops, were rubbery and insipid. Although the ambiance and the presentation were great, the food itself was lackluster. Unfortunately, the surprise did not go as planned since our meals ruined our evening which why we will not be returning to this establishment!!

We just finished dinner at Ariana in Ottawa with our two toddlers. The food and staff were exceptional. They catered to our two little ones, making them special milkshakes and giving them special dishes. They also were helpful and caring when they whined to get up, attentive when they dropped their napkin and indifferent to them being a little messy. Our tips were built into the price and many of the staff are salaried with passion showing in the food and atmosphere. I rarely write reviews, would highly recommend this spot.

So we dined at Aiana tonight. Oh my! The food was quite spectacular and the service was in a class of its own. Here are a few pics I actually forgot to take pics of some of the dishes!! The starters were fois gras and deep fried oysters, and bannock with honey butter and preserves which I forgot to snap, the mains were wagyu steak and scallops (no pic again), and we shared a mango dessert with port and cappuccinos. The little cakes and gummy bears were the finale to the meal. 4 hours to dine in a hip and relaxed restaurant.

Yum I m in love with the food, service and the atmosphere. I highly recommend it the spices and different flavours of their meals are unforgettable

There was a loud fan behind where we sat, couldnt hear our guests much and then the music was turned up. I had the scallops, they were salty, plus you can tell the food sat in the pass as the sauces developed a skin and the dish wasnt very hot, luke warm at best. I wont be in a rush to go back.

Pretty poor experience last night. The Nanaimo dessert was impossible to eat - it exploded on my shirt when I put in my fork, and broke across the plate when I gave up on that and picked it up. The portions were small and barely warm. Im disappointed.

Service and atmosphere were great. Most of the food was good other than my scallops. I had 3 scallops in my plate. First one was delicious and the 2 other ones tasted bad. There was an amonia/toxic taste to them and advised the waitress. She went back to the kitchen and said the chef tasted another one from the batch and it was fine. They gave us a small discount on the scallop dish but wouldve expected a little more to be done since I only ate 1/3 of the dish since the scallops had gone bad.

We had the chefs tasting menu. The first 6 courses really worked well together. The last courses were also delicious but did not blend as smoothly with the first courses. My partner enjoyed them all as well. Service was excellent too!

Ai na is an incredible overall experience. We did the 10 course tasting menu and every course was absolutely delicious. Every course was unique and definitely stood out on it s own. But not only is the food amazing, the ambiance is exquisite. The decor is stylish, the music is perfect and at the perfect volume. The staff take their roles very seriously and deliver an outstanding dining experience. We ve travelled the world and dined in many fine dining restaurants and this is one of, if not THE, best! And we ve dined here several times, once for New Years Eve, and they have delivered every time!

Excellent service and nice atmosphere. The croquettes and the frisée salad were a bit unidimensional. Couldn t taste the foie gras in the croquettes. The scallops and the mushroom toast were good. 3 stars feels too harsh so I m putting 4, but I d want to visit other places in Ottawa before coming back.

Beautiful ambiance, OK food (mixed reactions at the table, but do try the Truffle, it is a fine soup that is probably worth a revisit), confusing service. Disorganized seems to be a fair way to describe our partys experience. Hope it was just an off-night, given the lovely reviews from a lot of other diners. Happy to know that the establishment is a Living Wage Employer, but it also felt like we received underwhelming service and there was no incentive for any of our servers to make our dining experience any more special than a place that serves meals at half the cost or less. I am a little disappointed that it spoiled the overall experience.

We took the set menu, which only had one service option at 18:30, I think it s early but that is just me. The food was good, great tasting and beautiful presentation. I think it s a little overpriced for what you get but with the food being so expensive right now and the fact that service is included, I think it s just fair. The service is where I was the most disappointed, although it was a professional server he did not seem very experienced and attentive. Little description were provided for the dishes, most were served with a comment such as oh this one is one of the best and he walked away. This several course Chef s tasting menu is supposed to be an experience but there was a lot missing to make it a great experience. The server even took away a half-full bottle of wine thinking we were done drinking it but he had the bottle so far making it impossible to serve ourselves and he never came around to refill our glass. I think the worst part of it all is when our server (who was also the host) sat a couple on the table right beside us. Both tables only had a couple of inches of separation. The dining room was empty, they had plenty of lovely options to seat them in a more private location, it would have been great for all of us. This rather killed the mood of our evening as they were definitely on a firs date and we were three guys celebrating the departure of our friend. Very different topics discussed at the tables. Bottom line, they re trying to sell a 5-star menu experience but they need to work on their experience part. People don t go spend over $1000 of 3 people to have just an average night. My last comment is about the chef, where was the chef? All the chef s tasting menu I have been before the chef introduced themself at some point. We were definitely disappointed with the whole night and I close with its not worth the money you will spend there.

Beautiful place, service was decent; however the food . I hate to say it but Horrible. Looks so beautiful yet tastes so bad. Perfect place go if you want to spend a lot of money and leave hungry. Portions are tiny and the food is tasteless. Honestly wont ever go back.

Excellent food ! Chef raghav is excellent curator of the dishes ! Loved all the food, specially the bread and soup in the starter the entrees scallops, salmon was delicious. Dessert was out of the world ! Definitely coming again to try some of the other things on the menu !

Aiana offers a very high quality dining and drinking experience. I had a difficult time deciding between menu items as everything sounded incredible, but was thankfully in a situation where I was able to taste a wide variety of dishes, wines, and cocktails throughout the evening. The service was excellent from start to finish and for the most part the interior design was very well thought out, but we did note that the HVAC system was considerably too loud along the back wall of the restaurant, to the point where we decided to change tables. The washrooms were among the nicest Ive ever had the pleasure of using in a public setting.

A quick lunch turned into an experience! Being a late lunch we got in on time for Social hour, when drinks are on special. At that time of the day its Bar menu that is served. We had Croissant burger with Wagyu, a Maritime lobster/crab roll and a poutine with truffle. DELICIOUS. Oh and the service / tip is included in the price. We will return, i highly recommend

Worst restaurant ever ! Horrible experience ! We made a reservation online to find out they were having a private event. They didn t cancel our reservation. The guy that works there was really disrespectful and was just staring at me and making me super uncomfortable. He didn t even apologize and was acting like it was our fault. Ill never go there again, i was really disappointed.

The food description on the menu does not describe the food correctly. For example the crab salad is a mousse in a sherry glass and the truffle mushroom appetizer is actually a cream soup. The cod for 50.00 is battered like fish and chips. And much to our shock for such prices the scallop was way over salted. But the side veggies were amazing. Very beautiful atmosphere but i will not go back. And of course the portions are very small as are in all fancy restaurants.

A very pleasant dinner experience. Staff were well dressed, prompt, and highly professional. Additionally, knowing that Aiana pays a living wage and includes gratuities is refreshing. The food and cocktails were excellent. To complement this, the wait staff had a thorough knowledge of wine which came in handy when pairing with my main course. We also appreciated the amuse-bouches which came both before and after the main event. All in all I will without a doubt return to this unique restaurant!

Its the best restaurant in Ottawa. The food was excellent, and I love how you can see the open kitchen. The services were all nice and so lovely. The restaurant was clean and organized. I love how the service is all included, and you dont need to tip. I would recommend people who are coming to Ottawa. And I would love to go back and visit soon!

Can t say enough wonderful things about this establishment. The staff are very friendly and attentive. It was our first time dining here and it was for a birthday: The staff went above and beyond. I can t thank you enough, and the birthday person had an amazing evening. The gratuity included in the pricing is a wonderful standard. I wish more establishments would do the same. Greatly disappointed in our last visit (December 18th). Our first visit was a great experience, but our last was certainly not. First, the server brought out the wrong bottle of wine and before we noticed, the bottle was already opened and poured to taste. We alerted the server of this issue, and they stated that while it was the incorrect wine that was brought to the table, it shared the name with the one we originally asked for. Clearly they did not look at the country and regions, as both were different. No compensation or anything was offered. Certainly not a mistake you would expect from a restaurant of this caliber and with multiple sommeliers to boot. Second, my partner had a mixed drink spill all over her coat jacket from our server. While he apologized, no complementary dry cleaning or anything else was offered (we have had a beer spilled before on a friends shirt at a restaurant in Toronto and complementary dry cleaning was offered). We would expect the same at a high caliber restaurant in Ottawa. We flipped the bill for this mistake by Aiana. I was hopeful that this establishment would be among the top tier in Canada (Canoe, Alo, St. Lawrence, etc.). While it has great food (taste, presentation, local ingredients), it does not have the service to match. We are torn on whether we will visit again. The first experience was great, the second left a sour taste in our mouth. Not to mention, it was a birthday dinner with friends.

We ve visited Aiana four times since it opened and each was a unique and memorable dining experience! The seasonal menu and cocktails are always perfectly curated. Aiana is a fabulous addition to Ottawa s dining scene!

This restaurant is very underrated at the moment. The care with which the chef and staff prepared the food is almost chirurgical and the service is impeccable. Decor is lovely too. They gave us more than we ordered and the chef often served the plates himself. The only area where they could improve is ambiance but I m being very picky here. An absolute gem to be discovered!

I m so glad that I ve discovered this fine diner just a few blocks away from home. I loved everything there. The dinner I had there was just like a sojourn though amazing surprises, both for the visual and the taste bud.

A restaurant you tell everyone about. Aiana has an amazing atmosphere, great service, and exceptionally unique food. The executive chef Chaudhary s care of his guests and food is something to experience. He is truly a master of his craft.

After dining here last night this is a serious contender for my new favourite fine dining in Ottawa. The ambiance is modern chic with a high ceiling and a great view of the beautiful open kitchen. Service is impeccable, world-class, definitely the best I ve ever experienced in the city. The menu is pleasantly short, with enough variety to satisfy any guest, and every option was tempting. It leaned towards exotic and high-end ingredients including, for example, Canadian caviar, foie gras, sea urchin, abalone, and wagyu beef. We had the bread (Bannock / Brioche / Honey Truffle / Saskatoon berry Preserve) to begin - it deserved to be treated as it s own course. Our group of four managed to try a good selection of dishes, and none disappointed. My favourite was the scallop and foie gras, with the latter prepared two ways: classically seared, and very creative two small spheres of something like torchon in a shell of white chocolate. The cocktail list was fanciful, and the wine list extensive and eclectic, including a long list of champagnes and other sparkling wines. As a port lover, I was a bit disappointed by the short list of fortified wines. The pricing model was much appreciated, with service included in the price, and shared by servers and kitchen staff. This restaurant is highly recommended for a special night out.

A whole experience if you are thinking going for dinner in Ottawa. Staff is absolutely marvelous and super friendly. Chef goes to your table to assure that you are having a great experience. Wine list is amazing and the dishes are out of this world. I recommend the boar and the duck. Portions are big and the presentation of the plates is fancy. Definitely a great option if you are in the capital 5 of 5 stars. Keep up the great work

What a wonderful amazing experience at this new gem in Ottawa. From the greetings, to our customized yummy mocktails to our super kind and professional waiter! We had the bread and butter to begin with, fresh and delicious and the butter and jam were a sweet start for sure. Then we moved the the 3 sisters soup, it was a broth based soup so we weren t a big fan, we said nothing about it, but at the end of dinner the waiter kindly said I saw you guys didn t finish the soup and you weren t a big fan so I took it off the menu wow! Honestly sometimes we get this when we complain but to get it off without saying a word that was extra! We had their candied pecan salad , delicious.. for mains we had the duck and the fish , both were superb with really sophisticated and cool compliments on the plate.. Dessert was an amazing ending to this feats, between saffron and Cardimom and pistachio the flavours took us back home and was a great ending! Then we got chefs compliments to celebrate my husbands birthday, it was a maple fudge like we never had before! Definitely we will back, the decor is nice the place is chic and it s worth visiting for a special occasion!

Good food, but unwilling to make any adaptations for gluten and dairy free diet. Unless you feel like eating lentils and beets for $56, I suggest you go elsewhere. Cocktails were excellent however.

I ate my dinner here when I was in town for work. What an amazing experience, the staff were so friendly. The owner was not in but his dad was covering and said hello. We had a great conversation and the food left me wishing I had more room because I wanted to try more even though I was stuffed. When the bill arrived I was ready to tip but was very surprised to find it was all covered in the menu pricing. I will go back again to try the chowder.

I went there once with a friend and I appreciated the service from entry to exit. The staff is very welcoming, helpful, clean and respectful. The atmosphere was perfect. Neither too confusing nor too calm. It was well balanced. The meal was fantastic!!! Besides, I salute the chef. The plate was super well presented with wild boar of exceptional flavor. I highly recommend! And I will definitely go back Ps: Given the difficulty of finding parking in the city center, the restaurant sent us the address of a public parking lot not far away! That s service.

It was good but not amazingly good for a fine dining restaurant price But the server was great :) They have a great wine selection but the cocktails were not balanced they were not that yummy

I decided to pop my head in on a whim and had a nice experience. I tried a couple cocktails which were really tasty. The bannock, a bread Id never tried before, was surprisingly savory. I liked the music and the classy decor was just to my tastes. They were accommodating of my atheleisure clothing which I wasnt sure they would be. Next time Ill have to try an entree.

Happy Canada Day 2022

We came in for our first wedding anniversary and got the tasting menu. Absolutely blown away! I ate things I never imagined I would enjoy and my wife had the time of her life! Everything from start to finish was perfect. We happen to know the main man Greg behind the bar and had a few of his signature cocktails- MUST TRY! And you must watch this man work!! Floor staff extremely professional, knowledgeable and courteous, chef and kitchen staff amazing to watch while they Absolutely nail every dish that leaves the kitchen. % will return for our next celebration. 5 stars well deserved if I could Id give more.

Ambience designed for a delightful and exquisite setting. Cocktails made with love and quality. The most amazing part was being caught off guard by a fellow man that is not only from Ottawa but also from a high school I attended and seeing him create greatness. Youre doing outstanding Raghav! 100/10 , light years ahead of everyone else. And shoutout to my server, you are such a gem!

Great, and I mean great service and food, I ordered something containing mushrooms and it was delicious enough for me that I could come back a billion times, I definitely recommend it to anyone.

Aiana was one of a kind. I used to think oysters taste good as long as they were fresh. I was wrong. There were good, better and best. These oysters were the best starters to begin a wonderful dining experience with. The seasoning was very light, yet it brought out the sweetness and the flavours of the oysters. I also loved the freshly baked Bannock, served with honey truffle and muddled berries. Delicious!! The entrées were less impressive but still good. The service at Aiana was excellent! The ambiance was perfect for a night out with friends/families, or a business function. Their price included gratuity. I look forward to trying their tasting menu.

Perfect !I had lunch today with a colleague. What a wonderful place! To start: perfect setting, a lot of room between tables, courteous and caring staff, very professional. The kitchen is open, we can see the chef and cooks working. The food: delicious, exquisite, beautifully displayed on the plate, with the perfect balance of sophistication, elegant and refined but never pretentious. A great experience! Highly recommended!

Exceptional dining experience! Modern and elegant interior design; knowledgeable sommelier; fantastic food freshly prepared in an open concept kitchen; and amazing service! In addition to the food being delicious, it was innovative and thoughtful. I tried many new flavour combinations and textures that I have not seen elsewhere in ottawa. It really was an wonderful experience all around. Highlights of my evening included the toasty bread with truffle butter, the cucumber halloumi salad, the mushroom toast and the nanainaimo bar. For all the foodies out there, I strong encourage you to go.

We have had one of the best fine dining experiences at Aiana. The ambience, location, service and most of all food is amazing. Every plate that comes out of the kitchen looks like a piece of art. Amazing food and exceptional service!

The service was very good and professional, the restaurant tried to cater to creating an experience rather than simply providing a meal and did so very well. In addition to this we found ourselves quite full afterwards which tends to be a rarity for restaurants of this caliber.

Mikes service was only equalled by the presentations. Started with crab & lobster dish followed by lamb. Others had quail and vegan offerings, all beyond expectations. White tablecloth.

Decided to try this place out for our aniversary and was not disappointed. The food was incredible and the prices were actually quite reasonable for fine dining. I also loved their policy regarding the staffing being paid a living wage and not accepting tips. The staff were all very polite and helpful. The atmosphere was also very nice and bathrooms were clean and organized. I would definitely go here again.

We really wanted to like Aiana, but unfortunately we were disappointed with the tasting menu experience. A true 5 star restaurant would never send out overcooked/burnt waffles. The restaurant did try to remedy the situation by making the dish again, however the other guests just ended up waiting double as long for their next course making the experience feel long and tiring. They did acknowledge our sisters birthday with a gift of chocolate at the end of the meal which was a nice touch. We would not recommend the experience.

Had a wonderful lunch at Ariana earlier today. My meal started with the corn fritters that came with a few different sauces including a berry jam that suited the fritters perfectly. My main was the scallops that arrived with roasted petit turnips, asparagus, steamed broccoli flowers, sea bean, edamame and a coriander cream sauce - yum!! Portions aren t massive so consider the assorted bread appetizer if your real hungry

No doubt that I had the best experience ever. The super polite and kind staffs welcome you with so much warmth setting the experience at a high level from the very first second you enter Aiana. The place is beautifully designed. It only gets better from there. Presentation of food was awe inspiring and they tasted heavenly. We were served pretty little Papadams that bursted with flavours and textures.We got their squash, oysters, fungi, foie gras, banock and brioche for starters all of which were so yummy. And then comes caviar as chefs courtesy. Such a beautiful and special gesture it was and turns out as one of my favorites of the night. Theyve got great cocktails, thats a must try. In entrèe I loved the Caribou pie and beetroot. Iqaluit turbot was cooked to perfection and had lots of flavor. We decided to get Fallen apple for desert. We were amazed at how beautifully it was crafted and every bite of it was so delicious. That was the moment I had a foodgasm. This place is a must try if youre looking for a fine dining experience in Ottawa. Thanks to Chef Raghav and the entire Aiana family for giving us a memorable experience! Ill definitely visit again.

WOW! I finally found my spot. I rarely like to go back to the same restaurant twice, but I can guarantee I will be back time and time again. The food is unbelievable, the service is outstanding, and the atmosphere is incredible. 10/10 on all levels. We ordered the bread, and fungi to start, and the beet ravioli and caribou for our entree. Don t hesitate, book a reservation now you won t be disappointed.

Some hits, some misses. Enjoyed the smoked old fashion cocktail with the bread and butter app. Oyster appetizer was thoroughly disappointing. Tiny fried oyster is completely lost in all the sauce etc. Shrimp/scallop/caviar app was quite good but within expectations of something at that price (read not wowed). Cornish hen was very good and well cooked as was the caribou tourtière. Side salad of radish was a completely mystery. What was the chef thinking? No flavour, oily, completely unrelated to the main. Portions are generous so I ll give em that. Overall a meh experience at that price point. Won t go back.

I had the pleasure and honor of trying my first fine dining experience at Aiana. I was very impressed with the ambiance, energy and the outstanding service from the employees. I could see and feel the genuine passion from the team at various levels from how they talk to the clients to how the food is served. The owner and the head chef take time to talk to the customers, understanding their likes etc., My favorite was the warm breadbasket that was served with raspberry jam, whipped butter and honey.

We visited this amazing restaurant on Oct 28, 2022. We live out of the city and had to travel 1 hour to get here, and it was certainly worth the trip. First and foremost, this is a fine dining restaurant that provides superior service. By no means is it inexpensive but that is the reason that everything is so exquisite. From the moment that you walk into this restaurant, you feel and see the amount of detail that they have put into designing this restaurant. The food on the menu was explained in detail by our server Michael and it was exactly as he described. This restaurant is setting the bar high and trying very hard to succeed in this trying time. We were very pleased when the owner of the restaurant came to our table to say hello and to ensure everything was to our liking. We will certainly return. All 3 of us left very happy.

Everything about Aiana is perfect. From the warm welcome you receive when you first walk in, the attentive nature of the staff and the impeccable service from start to finish. My fiancée and I have dined at all of the other fine dining restaurants in Ottawa and Aiana is by far the best dining experience. They truly take every fine detail into consideration and it reflects in their carefully plated dishes that are filled with flavour. We will definitely be coming back. Easily a Michelin rated restaurant and I hope one day they receive accolades that reflect how perfect of a restaurant Aiana is.

I was visiting Ottawa a little over a month ago and stopped in here for drinks and dinner all by my lonesome. I had the absolute best dining experience I have ever had in Ottawa. The cocktail I had was very refreshing and I had the Wagyu for dinner which was so good and perfectly cooked. Honestly could have just a had a bowl of the sauce as it was amazing. I also requested a recommendation for a wine pairing and it was perfect, it was the first time in 4 years that I had had a glass of wine and it just topped the meal off for me. I was a little concerned about tips being included because I want to make sure the tip is in line with my experience but I was assured the staff was appropriately compensated for their work. Drinks, service, and meal as a whole couldn t have gotten any better and I will be back when I next visit. The price was totally worth it and I am still talking about it.

Its a beautiful restaurant . I came to Ottawa on a vacation .I was staying at the Sheraton which is across the street.I came to Aiana on a Thursday for lunch excellent service . The sommelier was super helpful , I even tip on top of the service. Posted every aspect of the restaurant on social media because I love to support small business ! I decided to come back the next day for Souper to found out that the restaurant BLOCKED ME on instagram! I tried once again to promote the beautiful restaurant but I was blocked . I finish my meal but I am a little bit offended.. anyways beside the discrimination! Service and food is good !

We just had an outstanding dinner for 4 persons. My wife had the vegetarian beetroot while our guests had venison tourtiere. The service was impeccable. Expensive but worth it.

Coming off the street knowing nothing about the restaurant I was absolutely astounded by the atmosphere and customer service. It gave me a feeling that draws me back often to check the new dishes each season. Cant wait to come back soon!

Food was a little too fancy and pricey for my tastes, but it was yummy. I had the scallops and the soup. The soup was delicious. The scallops were cooked beautifully. The best part was my friends dessert. A fallen apple. Looked just like an apple.

Excellent service. Excellent food. The only reason this isn t five star is because I could have done without hearing the chefs yell SERVICE!! across the restaurant every few minutes. But the ambience is amazing. The food is very very good. Would highly recommend. Prices are expensive, with 25$ for a beverage and bottles of wine starting at about $100. Expect to pay at least a couple hundred a person. But for a special occasion or if you can afford to indulge then this is where you want to go.

IF YOU HAVE FOOD ALLERGIES DO NOT GO THERE. The owner and the chef of the restaurant were made aware of my husband s life threatening food allergies WEEKS prior to our visit. Through many e-mails and phone calls, they had assured us of the safety of their food. They had promised menu items made specifically for my husband. We even double checked with the waiter and the chef when we received our food that it did not contain the allergens. Sure enough, my husband went into anaphylactic shock a few minutes after his first bites. His reaction was severe and he ended up in the ICU. The reaction was clearly not due to inadvertant cross contamination, but to the allergens being overwhelmingly present in his meal. The restaurant apologized for their mistake as we were leaving after my husband took his epipen. They have not followed up with us despite having our contact information. This was the worst restaurant experience we have ever had and I do not recommend this place.

We booked the Chefs Tasting Menu and had an incredible experience. The food was well thought out and put together and both the portion sizes and timing of the 11 course meal was perfect. Where this place really stands out is the service. We were so well attended by every individual who worked there - there didnt seem to be a hierarchy; anyone who was available to make the experience great, was on deck. Both my partner and I did not drink alcohol that night and the bar tenders kept the mock-tails coming, without us even needing to order. We pre-paid for the tasting menu but expected a charge for the mock-tails where we would have also considered providing a service tip (not expected, as this restaurant pays living wage for all staff), but was instead reassured that everything was taken care of. Really takes the guess work out of the billing portion. This place is top notch and well definitely be back for the exceptional service and food.

Excellent service and food!

Excellent place to spend a special occasion, i.e. wifes birthday! My family and I decided to come to Aiana to see what its all about and even though it is obviously not a restaurant for little children, the staff and hosts such as the two Roberts, Sid, and Sofia were amazing with the kids and even gave them colored markers for them to use for drawing while we waited for our courses of food coming in. Chef Raj (hope I spelt his name right) really outdone himself with him and his line cooks with the appetizers such as the oysters with caviar/gold flakes, and caviar service, the bread service, as well as the starters of the duck foie Gras and our main entry the tomahawk steak and lamb! Outstanding service, good portion of food and wonderful place to spend a special occasion. We plan to come back at another special occasion one day. Highly recommend.
