I agree with the others—the quality of their yogurt, especially the original tart flavour, has really gone downhill and just doesn’t taste the same anymore. I’ve been a regular since they opened and always came back just for that flavour yogurt. But today was probably my last visit, not just because of the taste, but also because of how rude the lady working there was. If they’re not giving out sample cups or spoons anymore, they should at least explain it nicely. Instead, she just stared at me and acted like I was annoying her for even asking.
I feel like the quality of this Menchie's location has gone downhill. Place looks unkempt, service was mediocre and the prices have drastically gone up. It also feels outdated.
I personally find frozen yogurt places overhyped and expensive. If you're okay paying $40 for 4 people to get ice cream then you'll enjoy it. I had a small sorbet combo - I think it was dole whip and strawberry. It was okay but the flavour was a little light. Everyone else seemed to enjoy theirs. I only did a small amount because I was conscious of price. As others have said, be mindful of loading up on toppings. The price can soar pretty quickly. It's pretty much serve yourself so no bonus points for service which consisted of pointing at the cups and weighing them at the end. Cups are only one size to encourage you to put a lot in them.
Excellent service from Michael a couple of weeks ago. He went above and beyond. He makes sure all the toppings are available for customers and is pleased to see people take their time to choose. to Menchies is my all-time-fave froyo franchise. I also adore photos of Kourtney Kardashian on the wall. 💕
The frozen yogurt is really good!! Nothing is bad about Menchies so far! Unfortunately the one nearest to me got closed permanently. 😔😔
This place is nice to eat frozen yogurt. There are several options and the employees are friendly. It's my favorite ice cream shop in ByWard market.
Such a fun time soft serving it up with my girlfriend. They are always changing the ice cream so you have different flavours when you show up. Since Covid they have put all of the toppings in individual packs so it’s easy to add up. Really good price, I thought it was going to be higher. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for some good ice cream.
It’s a New wonderful challenging experience having an option to choose, mix & much your own yogurt , toppings , much more you fill up your own bowl . Staff are organized , friendly and accommodating. I recommend try it yourself Menchie ‘s at Byward, Ottawa

I really enjoyed their yogurt ice cream, with lots of options and the pricing was also pretty good
i feel that the food was good and all but saw a noticeable difference between how me and my GF was treated VS the customers before us. IDK why

Nice variety of flavours and toppings. Usually go for the fruit flavoured ones (pineapple, strawberry and watermelon are my personal favs) but all are pretty tasty. Prices are fairly reasonable for what ice cream costs around this city nice layout and seatings and great customer service
Please don t try their bubble teas. Pina colada was a waste of money.

A must-see ice cream parlor in the ByWard Market in Ottawa. Yogurt-based ice creams with a wide choice of toppings.
LOVE Menchies! However I wish this place were cleaner. It isnt nice to sit inside because its filthy.
Always good at Menchies, 4 stars because there was a little ice cream in the yogurt. But these are things that can happen when its a beautiful sunny day.

Went in a couple weeks back and the older gentlemen who worked there yelled at a younger woman for 10-ish minutes. Never want to go back or support that emotional abuse.

If you like frozen yogurt, this place is definitely a must. Make your own dessert delight by adding how much of each flavor you want, then add your toppings which are individually packaged for your convenience and safety. Just remember, the price is dependent on the weight of your concoction!

Pick your own yogurt ice cream, fill the cup as much as you want and pay based on the weight of the cup. Chocolate is my favorite.
Lots of choices of flavors to choose from. Great customer service. Small to sit in but we made. On the pricier side but you get good quality.
Terrible experience!! Dirty place!!! With really strong smell of detergents!! In a place like this you expect the smell of chocolate and sweet vanilla, but not the strong smell of dirty floors that corrodes the eyes!!
Rude cashier and all the flavours taste the same just ice with sugar. Not to mention it was $37 for 2 tiny cups
Place with sexist tendencies. There were 7 of us, the boys all had green spoons while the girls in our group had pink spoons. Im really not happy with my taste experience. The approach honestly leaves something to be desired .
Good food, friendly and helpful employees, only complaint is that its truly unreasonably expensive. At 2.88 per 100g and normal serving runs you around 13$ which for a bowl of frozen yogurt is quite unreasonable.

Whenever we travel to ottawa we go there, it is nice but the seating area is not good. However, it is a positive experience.
A little pricy because the cost of your yogurt creation is based on weight. But sooo worth the guilty pleasure

The frozen yoghurt here is amazing, they also have so many toppings to choose from. The staff isn t much help, and it can be pricey at times ($2.88 for 100g) but it sure is worth it. Just don t go overboard because the price can quickly catch you off guard.

My partner and I dropped by there after a nice long walk. We found that 2 small cups of idea cream for 26 bucks was insane. I asked for the receipt and it didnt show the weight or anything else except the total. Didnt tell my partner till we were out of the place. She was very surprised and got upset. If you ask me, ice cream is always good, but not worth that much. It is a rip off and a big scam going on there. Canadians deserve better!

I used to go there all the time last year. But something changed. I went there yesterday with my partner and it was DISGUSTING! I took a vanilla frozen yogurt and added cookie dough on top of it. The cookie dough tasted like food you forget in the fridge. The frozen yogurt tasted like water mixed with chemical flavors. I thought I was being irrational but my partner had the same experience with totally different flavors. Completely disgusting. And we have been really reasonable with our portions but it still cost 18$. I threw my whole portion away because I felt sick. My partner had stomach issues after eating it. And this morning I have the same problem. Toppings arent fresh at all and theres something totally wrong in their frozen yogurt. Dont go there.

Its a good location for a custom made frozen yogurt dessert. It can get expensive if youre not careful with the amount of toppings and frozen yogurt. Kids absolutely love it because they can make whatever disgusting combination they want. And they do have a great selection of available flavors and amazing toppings.

There was a fairly Large selection of yogurt and toppings, but I found it slightly overpriced (almost 40$ for three cups of yogurt)
It was my first time. The staff were very helpful and cheery, made my experience fantastic. There are a few tables inside and outside so you have a choice. I was very impressed with the cleanliness ESPECIALLY given that this location is downtown. I personally highly recommend you stop by.
Ive gone to this location since it opened. The staff have always been friendly. I really like the whole concept that this place provides. Unfortunately, the price increase has been quiet drastic causing me to not want to go back because its quiet costly.
Im impressed by the variety of flavours they offer : Smores, nutella and peanut butter cookies just to name a few! flavours often change so youll never be bored! Prices are decent for what you get.

Pay per weight is always worrisome and usually expensive (especially for someone who loves to load up on toppings) but it was all in all very yummy. Kind of a bummer that theres not a huge variety of flavours but you can still satisfy your craving.
Skip this and go to any of the high quality places that are meters away - Piccolo Grande, Pure Gelato, etc. The quality will be there and youll pay about half. To start, the price-quantity relationship was not good (super expensive); the price-quality was abysmal. I dont know how they did it, but the brownies had some kind of bubble gum flavour and seemed more like candy. The chocolate sauce had me wondering if they knew how much they were watering it down, or if they just eyeball it. The frozen yoghurt itself (Greek and Nutella) was not especially good (neither taste nor consistency). This was the most disappointing and regrettable ice cream/frozen yoghurt Ive ever had, and sadly thats not an exaggeration. Have I just been spoiled on awesome ice cream? Maybe. Go elsewhere and you will be too. I will never go back to Menchies.
Good yogurt and more toppings than you can possibly choose from. From nuts and jellybeans to fruit and brownies. There are also sauces you can pour over. I did find it a bit pricey, mine was over $12 but maybe they jacked up the price for Canada day?
Nice spot in the Byward market. Good place to go for a dessert after lunch or dinner at one of the restaurants nearby. Popping bobas are the reason I go to Menchies
Wasnt crazy about the flavours but was particularly blown away by the exorbitant cost. It would be nice if they did what some other bulk-buy places do and give you a couple of tub samples, perhaps as photos, indicating the prices. Four ice cream treats came to $63.00, causing my heart to miss a beat.
Each visit Ive had to Menchies has been SUPER enjoyable; my kids love the place too! Recently, I lost my drivers licence at this location and the owner went out of his way to contact me and return it. So so so so kind! Cant wait for my next visit ;)
This frozen yogurt is super good. You can choose different flavors. Personally I prefer to take one or two flavors and refill.
Love Menchies. Standards have dropped though. Used to be spotless clean and wide variety of flavours. Still great
A place to AVOID!! 29$ for 2 ice -cream, rip off and total scam. A year ago with the previous ownership, 15$ less. There are plenty of other ice-cream options around the market that taste better and cost half as much! DONt GO THERE!
Froyo is not soft and the fruits are cut without much. For the price of 10$ for one cup one would expect more.
Staff is nice location is good and food is good. The only reason I m not giving 5 stars is that the location in Orléans is vastly better in terms of customer service
