The soup bases are tasty. The dipping sauce ingredients selection vary in quality from time to time. There is a decent variety of veggies and meat. The self serve hot food is below average but it s a hot pot place so not a big deal. Overall not bad.

UPDATE Sept. 23 they changed it to self serve and even more items! This is a great place to chill and enjoy some real Chinese hotpot. I am a big fan of the spicy broths. There are two kinds, Hot Chilli and Spicy Butter... the spicy butter one is hottest (so beware!) and seems to have more green peppercorns (the spice that makes your mouth numb) The curry one is great too if you enjoy curry spices. Vegetarian options: There is a lot of options on the menu for Vegetarians. Parking: Lots of parking out front.

Good food, good service and good vibe. It was busy when I visited the place. Need to wait more than 30 minutes to get seat for our group. Otherwise good service. Will come back again.

The staff attitude is really bad, even though the restaurant hasnt closed yet, they spoke to the customers with an attitude of chasing them away, talking with an empty attitude. So disappointing.

Came to Happy Lamb for dinner on Saturday night and had a very pleasant evening. The deluxe set meat we ordered was very fresh and came out very quickly. Their waitress, April, was very enthusiastic and often asked us if we needed more meat and soup. There is also a great variety of vegetables and seafood. They have a new vanilla ice cream. Its delicious.

It has been many years that I have not seen hotpot restaurants in the local area. This restaurant should be one abroad restaurant from the famous chain hotpot restaurants in China. Lamb meat is fresh and unlimited provided. Here are also other delicious food can be cooked in the hotpot. The sour plum drink is also rare to be found and tastes yummy. Vegetarian options: You can select vegetables and cook by yourself

I like the new setup where you get your hot pot ingredients buffet style. However the quality of the ingredients are average at best, especially with the meat, they were mostly fat and the broth is overwhelmingly salty and oily but flavourful nonetheless. Also the booth I sat on was actually broken so theres also that, please fix it. This place used to be a 5/5 but its slowly going downhill, unfortunately.

The customer service is top-notch; the staff is always attentive and friendly, making every visit enjoyable. I can t recommend this place enough if you re a hot pot lover or looking to try something new. Love it!

I had an amazing experience at this hot pot ! I particularly enjoyed the spicy broth. The sliced beef was tender and the vegetables were crisp. The DIY sauce bar was a fun touch. The service was excellent . I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves hot pot.

New favorite spot to go to with friends. Have not had one complaint about the food, sometimes the waiters are super busy so getting a refill of the lamb or beef sometimes takes little bit longer, but theres enough variety on the wall to make that not too much of an issue

Great self-serve hot pot restaurant! I got the all-you-can-eat lunch combo with a small clear broth. Although the lunch combo has less options than the dinner combo, there was still a great selection of food available; everything was fresh and delicious. The food made me and my partner sick. Ice cream is not real ice cream. Service 0/10. I asked to leave with my bottle of sake and they threw the cork away. I had to persist with the management to finally leave with my bottle coated with plastic rap... 0/10 never again

If you cook your food properly and use the right utensils, you wont get food poisoning!! Its a nice place to talk and take your time cooking and eating. The sesame balls, fried mantou, and icecream can be skipped. Good selection of meats, veg, seafood, and noodles.

The restaurant was very busy and they made me wait for a single table (there were double tables available and single guests were sitting at double tables). I finally got seated at a double table but was immediately sent away because that table was booked. Got sent to a table that just got cleaned but still has food scrap on the table. When I pointed out the food scrap the girl just picked it up with her hand and still wanted me to sit there. At this point I left.

Great food, awful service. FYI you will get tip mugged after being threatened by the staff and being sprayed in the face with what I hope was soapy water (unintentionally but carlessly) If you do decide to eat here the sesame balls are really good and there is a small discount offered for paying cash.

Absolutely great tasting food, very fresh with a variety of side dishes to accompany your hot pot. The staff tend right away to your needs by filling up your broth and offering tea before you order. The atmosphere is welcoming, relaxing , and comfortable. The waitor Kevin talked with us about different dipping sauces, even made an authentic Sichuan sauce for me to try. We came here for our anniversary and it was totally worth it! Even got a little dish for our anniversary!

In spite of Self-Served Buffet, so delighted & grateful of their attentive & efficient services. All your services with pleasant smiles are so appropriately reflecting the name of the HAPPY Hot Pot...Really appreciated the delicious & fresh foods HAPPILY in all my last 3 hotpot luncheons provided in such pleasant &comfortable surroundings. Most staff sat a table to eat there lunch, I had to wave down someone to get served, the staff run to there own drumbeat for sure, you can tell there was No manger present, and if there was poor management .. I found it expensive for 3 people as well. 170.00

This is probably one of the best restaurants I have ever been in Ottawa!

This was my 3rd visit. I was disappointed to see that Ito is now buffet style. The other thing is that we paid the extra 5$ p.p. to have premium meat and they brought one plate of each. We were 4, I counted 8 slice of beef :-( When I asked for more, they brought the same meat they serve in the buffet, therefore the premium was a steal. Oh, there was no hoisin sauce, that disappointed me too. On the bright side, everything in the buffet looked fresh and appealing.

Food is good. But almost no service. The deep fried stuff takes forever to reload. Asked twice they said they will bring them but they didn t until the minute I decided to leave. I like the deep fried buns a lot and they are actually the reason why I went there. Good thing is I had them eventually.

Take it from someone like me coming from Toronto with lots of premium hotpot options like Haidilao and Liuyishou, this is actually pretty good. The price is very reasonable and the quality of items is on par with the others. I would definitely come back next time.

There is something for everyone here to cook. The broths were good, the clear broth could use a bit more flavoring it was a bit bland. Service was very attentive and quick to clear off empty plates. Staff were friendly and helpful with questions.

I ve been here a few times and never been disappointed, I love how they change it back to the buffet style as it s less work for staff imo. We had dinner on nye for dinner, they were extremely busy but staff were still very pleasant and helpful. Our guest loved the experience as it was their first time there. We all enjoyed our meal. Everything was fresh and delicious. Staff made sure we were enjoying ourselves. Would highly recommend.

There are few food options, but it s suitable for team building

The food choices for cooking in the broth were incredible! When selecting your hot pot broths, I would avoid the hot one unless you really like spicy. The 2 teenagers we head with us love hot sauces and broth, and even for them, it was too hot ... although they kept cooking in it. Lol Next time, I would choose the chicken and the mushroom broth.

Once again, because you choose your own items to cook in the hot pot, the parents can pick the items suitable for their children. There are larger tables suitable to accommodate many people including children.

Went back after a few years. Food is still great but dont be fooled by the all you can eat buffet. You are limited to three rounds of ordering so make sure to use them wisely. Parking: Lots of parking.

Despite being All you can eat, you only get three rounds to choose your food so make good choices. Also, be sure to eat everything you get or you you will be charged. Also some new broths, 1) Curry 2) Mushroom I really like the Tomato broth, it amazing with the lamb. Allergy Warning, with the new renovation they have added crushed peanuts to the sauce bar, near. Parking: A must try. Hot Pot could be compared with a fondue. You have a big pot of broth in front of you, solo or shared. You add uncooked ingredients, which changes the broth as you go. It takes 5 seconds to fully cook the very thinly sliced meats.

First time to this place. Let me tell you, the hotpot is good and service is great. Planning to come back next time my family and I are in Ottawa.

Vegetarian options: They have a lot of different vegetarian options, including: A variety of leafy greens (spinach, bokchoy, cabbage, etc.), starchy veg (sweet potatoes, potatoes, Taro & radish), a variety of mushrooms, tofu prepared in a few ways, sweet corn, rice cakes & more!

My experience there over the past few months and just this Sunday October 29, 2023. It wasnt a very good service with how they charge you for the service fee which I prefer not to be given that it had thrown off my mind today. The previous month going there where they didnt mention the cash discount fee. Another problem was that my family member wasnt happy when a customer cut in line when we were waiting first and didnt appreciate that. Even though we got an apology for that treatment it still didnt feel like it was a good time spent there eating. I will not be coming here too often of how they serve their customers.

Very busy place with a good choice of various hotpot broth styles, including hotpots divided into half or third moons for two or three different hotpot styles eg if not everyone likes it spicy. Good choice of everything to throw into the hotpots. Quality of meats is meh they look nice but shrink to nothing and some of the fish balls are horrible. Very salty. Free drinks are free for a reason. Stick to the lemon water. A once in a long while experience. Prices are moderately reasonable like around 180$ for 4 all included.

I think most of you who goes are familiar with everything there but lemme share incase if you dont We (3 of us) got the Triple flavour broth $12.99++ for the hotpot with Spicy, Mushroom, and tomato soup (highly recompense the tomato soup) and fir the food itself all you can eat its close to $per person. Basically you can pick what ever you want as much as you want from a big selection of meat, vegetables and seafood. This is why id say the price you pay is fully worth it. My star of the night other than the food was the side dish you make yourself with sesame paste different kinds of sauce and spices. I made mine with sesame paste, crushed peanuts, sesame oil, red chilli paste. Loved the whole experience there definitely would go again with friends. Oh btw the drinks are free as well and you can buy alcohol. Help yourself for some pics and videos

There is lots of choices if you take the buffet. The whole system didnt make sense to me but I ate well. Place was busy, which is a good sign. The pathway between right and left of the restaurant was always jammed, this is where people crossed and the employees hang out. We had the mushroom broth, and curry broth. Both very good. We will be going back. Reservations should be made ahead of arrival.

Wow! They renovated the entire space and most of the food is now self service (Except for red meats such as lamb/beef) Good: - Food was super tasty, hotpot base was good. Everything was very fresh and regularly filled. - Service was awesome. Our server Ayden was just wonderful. Super friendly and very very attentive. - Self serve soda machine and fried chicken?! - Price is very fair for AYCE, with lots of different options, free soda and things like fried chicken and side dishes. - Self serve dipping sauce station was expansive and had everything you could need Not so good: - Suuuuuuuper long wait times. Expect to wait around in advance. There is unfortunately no modern booking system/waiting system so its all done by pen and paper.

I was SO excited to try this place. Im underwhelmed. The space is nice & big & bright. Cleanliness was lacking BIG TIME. They need to assign staff to stand at the buffet and keep it CLEAN at intervals throughput the service. It looked like a food explosion around the buffet area. Not to mention that many of the bins were EMPTY. This emphasizes the requirement for dedicated buffet staff.
