Casual dining Indian restaurant in the heart of Byward Market.
We had lunch at India Curry and Kebab House. We ordered a biryani, chicken vindaloo, and naan. Honestly, the food didn’t meet our expectations. The biryani was mediocre, and the chicken vindaloo was the worst I’ve ever had. It had a strangely bitter taste. I don’t mean to say that all the food there is terrible, but this was a significant letdown. However the service and atmosphere were excellent. The place is very clean.
We spontaneously went to this restaurant for dinner and were very satisfied. The curry platter was enough to feed two adults fully, we got the veg platters and everything was pretty good. Chicken biryani was made with all breast meat and was also delicious. And dosa was also very good. Also for starters, it is hard to pull off a veg kebab but I think they did pretty good with their hara bhara kebab. Service was reasonable and quick Price is definitely on a higher range but they deliver it in quality.
Don’t waste your money like I did … I’ve ordered one Paneer Korma and Naan .. Korma didn’t look like Korma (not rich gravy .. more like buttery it was ). and there were flies all around one was consistently on my bread basket. I complained about my issues as well but no positive outcome . So I quickly ate what I ordered whether liked or not and left. Check the photos and videos for reference .
Honestly just the best Indian cuisine in Ottawa! I love getting the Mixed Grill Plater, you get a taste of everything while also getting your fill. I love chatting with the friendly staff and owner, just a great vibe! I would highly recommend you give it a try
I'm so glad we explore more outside of the Byward Market...and we saw this gem! The buffet (all you can eat) was amazing! $30+ plus tax is a good deal. One of you can also order on the menu..like $16-18 per meal. If you love rice, naan bread, lamb, chicken with great taste, this place is a must! Thank you Vikrant for the wonderful service!
We randomly chose this restaurant and had an amazing experience. The food was delicious. We enjoyed chicken tikka (the presentation was spectacular), hot and sour soup (absolutely delicious), and chicken biryani (very good). Everything was satisfying and fulfilling. My 7-year-old son loved the food. If we visit Ottawa again, we will definitely return to this restaurant. Highly recommended, it will leave you with cherished memories and delightful food. Last but not least, Karan, who served us, was polite and attentive, ensuring everything was perfect at our table. He consistently checked on all the customers, providing excellent customer service. Applause to him!👏
It’s been 1 year in Ottawa since I moved here but this place is reallyyyy good the food is absolutely delicioussss. The taste is constant never got disappointed.
India and curry kabob house is hands down the best India restaurant in Ottawa !! Jagadeesh and his team provide an uncompromising experience, from the quality of the food to the friendliness of the servers. Having organized many events and having used this restaurant to cater for 1000 plus people at times , they are my go to people for a trusted experience!! Hope to see them expand further and grow !!
Best for indian foods
Loved the Place and staffs
My wife and I had a phenomenal experience dining at ICKH! Food was delicious and the service provided by Rahul was memorable in just how exceptional it was...on numerous levels. Neither of us is well-versed in Indian cuisine so the pages of meal options, organized by type, was a bit bewildering. But there was no rush to order, a tasty starter food kept us happily occupied as we considered our options, and Rahul answered all of our questions. This was our first full day in Ottawa as tourists, so we were also very appreciative of Rahuls willingness to address our non-gastric based tourist questions. Side note: I enjoyed the modern Indian music being played featuring an impressive array of musicians and sounds. Vishal Mishras song Manjha was a highlight! We are looking forward to returning on Christmas day for their buffet! I will bring a good appetite and am looking forward to the experience. Christmas memories for a lifetime!
Food is good.
Great food and service from Karan , loved there kadhai panner
Yummy Indian food
Food was beautiful and so tasty
excellent food taste & quality, I order/visit very offen & never get bore as they have large variety of options in menu. Everyone should surely try this place.
Good customer service! Great food! We just missed the buffet! Amazing desserts also would definitely recommend.
Great food, timely service, and clean environment
Great food and amazing service
Good food , highly recommend there makhmali kebab
Excellent Indian food, we tasted Hara Bhara Kabab, Malai Kofta platter and lassi. Must have the platter, they provide delicious mixed veg and choley in it. Enough for 2 people. Also the service was amazing, was single handheld by amazing person. Something which they can improve upon is their ambience which gives kind of 5yrs old look.
Nice dine with family Vegetarian options: Dosa variety Food : 5/5 |
We have always ordered takeout with delivery, several times a year. The food is excellent but each time we receive the order an item is missing. Today three dishes were missing! Not sure we will risk ordering in the future.
The food is simply excellent and the service very good. I highly recommend the jackfruit Dum Pukht biryani! Vegetarian options: They have a whole vegetarian section of the menu, and they can also make several of their dishes vegan Dietary restrictions: Vegan and gluten free options
Excellent restaurant! We return every time with family and friends, impeccable service
I recently came to Canada and Curry and Kebab is the best place that serve authentic Indian delicacy. And my go to place when ever I crave for Indian food. The Kebabs were delicious and I loved the presentation of it.
Amazing food!
Amazing food! Thank god I stumbled upon this restaurant, it was really delicious especially the garlic naan, my goodness, the softness of this naan and the fresh garlic taste! It was mindblowing! I normally dont have naan because of its texture, stiffness and dryness but this restaurant just made it lovable!! I had ordered hara bhara kebab, mushroom 65, paneer lababdar and mint yogurt! I would definitely all these items if you are a big Indian food fan! Please keep up the quality, service and price
Very good food .
Disappointed Garbage food No indian taste Poor service
Very poor service
It was a great experience, best dosas in town..,tandoori dishes is a must try..:-)
Parking: N/a Food
Amazing food .. unforgettable taste of malai champ and chilli onion dosa our to go place in every 2-3 weeks
Freakin sick place!
Best indian food i have ever had. And ive had alot
Probably the best curry I ve ever had. The service was awesome. Order the Shrimp as it comes in a special holder thats literally smoking it.
Absolutely AMAZING FOOD. I recommend it to anyone and everyone. Shrimp shish-kabob, wings, black bean dall, and so much more was amazing. Thank you for serving such authentic food.
Amazing ! Soooo much flavor and big portions! Must try the shrimp tika kabob and tandoori wings! We went Mr with our 3 kids and I thought we ordered too much but nothing was left LOL! Naan was also the perfect mix of crispy and soft.
I bought samosa from this restaurant every week but now there quality is down ,Wednesday I bought samosa and that were not properly cooked even the potato filling was hard to chew, when I talk to the restaurant owner , he just finished the issue with sweet talks , Disappointed
Food was too good can t wait to try again
Good but the chili sweatshirt requested was not mouth-watering..
Delicious, fresh food. Professional service. Highly recommend. Must do in Ottawa.
Great place to have biriyani in Ottawa with good ambience. Service was quick
The service was exceptional and the food was delicious. Their menu is expansive, and from the start, they were very friendly and highly accommodating to our vegan s inquiries. Samosas were delicious, and the Bhangain Bharta and Lamb Bhuna exceeded expectations. With all that and complimentary dessert, this restaurant is a must-try!
Try the Rava dosa! It is out of the world! Ask for Jagadeesh and he will place your order as per your spice levels. The stuffed onion Kulcha, Dal Makhani, and chole bhature are the best in Ottawa! A good friend of ours also come in regularly for the chicken tikka! So go for it guys!
By far the best Indian restaurant in Ottawa. Ive had kebabs from Morroco to Iran, and their Chicken Tikka kebabs are the best ever!
no buffet on Sundays? Very very empty restaurant
After a trip to the ByWard Market, a risky lunch break. So delighted! Great service and welcome. And that s without mentioning the excellent meat served. We didnt take the July 1st special buffet, but it looked very varied and plentiful.
Delicious and unique fare.
Aloo dum curry is awesome
Good meals at affordable prices. I love the place.
Excellent buffet, generous amounts of protein, with options of beans and tofus for vegetarians, good balance of spices and clearly prepared by authentic Indian cooks. I went there with family who have never eaten Indian cuisine and who loved their first experience. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to experiment with Indian cuisine, as long as youre willing to deal with a bit of heat, which goes with Indian. Vegetarian options: Many buffet meals contain tofu and beans. When in doubt, an a la carte menu is offered
Really nice people working here treats you good specially aunty, food is great.
I had Dum aloo banarasi today it was amazing and a good ambience was provided with delicious food
Hi, I found the Dum Aloo at the restaurant to be exceptional. This dish is a must-try for anyone looking to savor traditional Indian flavors at their finest.
Great food. Their naan breads and especially their chicken tikka masala is exceptional. The staff is attentive and friendly, ensuring a memorable visit. Highly recommended for anyone craving delicious Indian cuisine in Ottawa!!
Just delicious food!!! And good service as well to
Really good food and the most wonderful staff! I had the Saag chicken and it was the best ever! Food
Loved this place!! Food is well served and kept hot. Buffet style is great and gets refilled fast. Excellent service!
Came here for a team social and the food was great :) Dietary restrictions: Halal food available Food : 5/5 |
Sat in our booth for 20 mins waiting for a starter. Then another 10 minutes after asking for the bill because they were so late.
Terrible service.
Some of the best authentic indian food you can get. Amazing.
Amazing service and food. Space was great
Excellent food and service. Its my second time here and both times were excellent.
We walked through Byward market looking for a nice place to enjoy dinner together. I was craving something different from the usual burgers and pizza. The delicious curry and tikka we ordered did not disappoint. Our server Anwer was very friendly and helpful. We hope to return.
Amazing indian food
The food here is amazing! Highly recommend the Mukhmali chicken kebab and Nali Nihari. Vegetarian options: The paneer tikka here is very good! Must try!
Great dosa dish!
I went with my friends. Really enjoyed each and every bite. Specially gol gappa and dum aloo banarasi. Will definitely visit again. Vegetarian options: There are ample amounts of options for vegetarians as well.
Great place, great food.
Food was delicious and service was excellent. Always have a amazing meal when I visit.
Food was nice bt they need to improve test and in my opinion adding new things as well. Overall nice. Food
Amazing Kebabs perfect for Indian pallet...
The worst food I have ever had hands down. I order a simple masala dosa and fried rice. It was cold it was tasteless and the food felt like it was atleast a week old. Will never order again. Food
The food was amazing. We ordered hara bhara kebab which was 10/10 along with the chutneys they provided. In the main course we ordered two curries dum aloo benarasi and Konkani fish curry along with Garlic Naan. Taste of both curries were good. The marination of fish lacked a bit of salt otherwise the taste was too good. Since summers have started the patios have opened and it was on a not-so-busy street of Downtown Ottawa. We finished the meal with a Rasmalai (Dessert) at the end - Taste was good!
Great and delicious food with lots of vegan halal options. Dietary restrictions: They have Gluten free food and plenty of vegan and halal options Food : 5/5 |
We had wonderful time today at this restaurant, veg biryani was soo delicious and hara bhara kebab was very tasty , I was completely in love with the ambience outside the restaurant !! Must visit restaurant in Ottawa
Very good place to try different foods
I really loved the food, the service was amazing they were too nice. They have open buffet every Sunday which 30$ per person. Yes it worth it
This place is underrated. It is actually incredible. The naan is literally what I dream about at night. Really good butter chicken and the deisgn/presentation of plates is really awesome. 10/10.
We had dinner at 5, barely with 3 other tables and nobody came to offer us a service in general. We waiting over 20 mins for bill after calling them thrice ..eventually went to counter. Not the kind of service we had before!!!
The food was delicious! Unfortunately, I ordered a little too spicey for myself to fully enjoy the meal, but what I had was absolutely amazing! I wish I couldve taken the leftovers, but I couldnt since I was staying in a hotel. Staff were very kind and respectful, and polite! Food
For the very first time had the best authentic Indian cuisine in ottawa
5 star experience. Chicken lababdar, kabob, naan, stuffed naan, and the calamari dish were all amazing.
Great place for Kebabs and curries as the name suggests. Their new addition dosa is good and their Sambar and coconut chutney both are delicious. Must try.
I went to this place with my kids the service was amazing and I received my order under 10 minutes. The food was very delicious and flavourful. My family goes there at least once every week.
Good choice of vegetarian food.
Food is delicious but the service is not good. The employees continuously looking out tables and disturb our privacy. I really disappointed with the service .
One of the best food in Ottawa and I can say canada wide. Any one who loves lacha pratha and samosa. Then this is best place to go. And amazing hospitality. Food
To be honest when i came for the first time, it was still ok . But day before yesterday like on new year s eve we ordered buffet , i cant remember name of that person who was serving to us like one who joined a month or 2 ago , he has been so so rude , he said us not to share buffet , we agreed but what was the point of staring at us with frowning looks throughout the time we were sitting there , he was staring alot that was quite inappropriate and disrespectful towards your customers ! We liked the food but service could be better
Best place for Indian food!!! Food is always delicious and freshly made with an excellent and friendly customer service. I have been going to this restaurant at least twice a month for the last 3 years (take out or dine in) and the food is always excellent. As well, your orders is always exactly as ordered which is a big plus in today s service. I strongly recommend this restaurant.
I ordered from Uber eats because of all the positive reviews I had seen of this place and was pretty excited. However, after receiving the food, my disappointment was immense and day almost ruined. The chicken biryani was super salty, the butter chicken came in a criminal serving size and the naan bread tasted store bought. I thought I would try somewhere else because I only order Indian from one place in the City but after yesterday, I will stick to what I know. Beware yall! Not sure who writes all these positive reviews.
The paneer tikka was amazing!
Delighted with my experience at the Indian restaurant! The food was scrumptious, offering a delightful blend of flavors. The ambiance added to the overall enjoyment, creating a welcoming and pleasant dining atmosphere. Would definitely recommend!
We have tried Tandoori wings as starter, and chicken Biryani for main course. Tandoori wings were good but biryani was not that impressive. Considering other Indian restaurants in this location, it is reasonable.
Dahi puri and rasmalai were amazing. And the owner and staff are very humble and courteous.
The food is good as always but the service is a bit slow. I would recommend their Matar Panner, Chole, and Dahi Bhalle.
Excellent food. Portion of food served was worth the price
Very good food the servers are welcoming and i could easily view myself being here with my family. The portions are really generous and the owner is wonderful .I had a very good time eating here!
I had food at this place on my visit to Ottawa. I found the place yo be on little expensive sides given the quantity of food. In starters, we had paneer 65, which was not too good in taste. The kashmiri dum aloo were very tasty and tandoori roti was also good but dal lacked flavor and salt. Atmosphere was okaish bit dull.
Update (March 26,2023) Disappointing portions. Prices have gone up and they serve sabzi in a container which South Indian restaurants use it to serve sambar, yes that less portion. Old review: Good Indian food.
We had food from this restaurant both for take-out and eat-in. Food was tasty and well presented. Portions were large in both cases, we had leftovers for the next day. The day we are in we had butter chicken, lamb saag with rice and naan. All was good and we will go back. Service was very quick too (restaurant was not busy that night).
Delicious food must try
Chicken is really good here. I had Chicken Tikka Masala and Makhmali Kebabs. Both were delicious.
Came for Sunday buffet and had a fantastic experience! For $25, it s all you can eat and they have a wide variety of assortments. I really loved how I could try a bit of everything and as much as I wanted! There s a salad section, naan, many different types of curries and even desert. Each of them still keep high quality and deliciousness! You may have to wait at times for certain dishes to refill but it s usually within 5-10 minutes. Waiters were kind but for us buffet people, basically just leave you to it and don t come by for anything really unless you ask. Definitely recommend!
Visited here couple of weeks back. They call it biriyani, but I don t agree. Restaurant ambience was really nice.
Starters were very good. Staff was very polite. Like the way they bring the kebabs. Like the style. Main course was also good. Garlic Naan could have been better and crispy. Was not happy as we were 7 of us and they charged gratuity (18%). I had been to other indian restaurants in down town area and never been charged gratuity Once again visited this place yesterday since we enjoyed the appetizers during our last visit. Enjoyed Chicken Tangdi Kebab, Lamb chaap and Malai Soya Chaap. Food was good as usual but service was not at par. Very slow service. Parking: It is hard to get free parking since it is busy steet. You have to park your car in Capital Parking lot.
Delicious with a ton of vegetarian options!
Good service, food was hearty and comforting :). Will be back soon!
Expensive food. V ordered a mix platter for 37$. It had only one piece of bbq lamb, one small bbq piece of fish (square sized), 4-5 pieces of bbq chicken (square sized). Food
Very good and flavorful food , the portion is generous and the naan bread is amazing , i highly recommend this place The butter chicken is
Had the beef curry and garlic naan. Both were excellent. Service was prompt, the menu has numerous options, and is very reasonably priced. Highly recommended.
Although we did enjoy the service, behaviour and location when I went with my wife for the Sunday Buffet but unfortunately it was followed by an upset stomach (for both of us).
Authentic food , Awesome service, great atmosphere. if you are missing Indian food must try here Vegetarian options: Coconut Biryani Dal vaghatali
Good food,good service, higly recomendable
Great and very authentic Indian food.
Rude customer service, talking to us do you see empty table here ! Who talks like this to their customers. We didn t end up eating here.
Loved the food, it was authenticate indian food, we ordered Naan, Biryani, Mattar Panner, Veg Assorted Pakoda, Chicken Korma, Mango Lassi. Foods have been not cooked with same kind of tomato sauce that is being done by most of the other restaurants, staff and service was good
Food quality is very poor and prices are high.
I tried couple of dishes here, Dal tadka was not good. Much more costlier restaurant in town.
Food quality is very poor
All the staff and manager were very friendly and welcoming. More over the food was amazing and tasted like food from home! The quantity was amazing and authentic Indian food!!
This place has great authentic Indian food with fresh ingredients. And the service is amazing by the waiters and the manager, the quantity of the food is amazing!! They also have buffets on Sunday with lots of variety with veg and non veg including sweets, salads and appetizers as well. It s a must try place!!!
Not a place that I suggest you to have food. We went to this restaurant on a long weekend so as the place was too busy. The waitress asked us to have buffet or else we ll have to wait for an hour. We tried buffet and the food was so bad . Had the feeling they gave us the food which nobody order in the menu. Moreover the manager was behaving rude. We are new to the city and the impression with food was really disappointing. The food never met the price value. Food is really overpriced for the quality. They could have kept timbits for the dessert because that tastes better.
Terrible food
My new favorite Indian restaurant in Ottawa!! Great food and more varieties and sweets, best buffet Ive had in a while! Overall perfect spices and delicious food and great service! Vegetarian options: delicious vegetarian dishes
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Indian Curry and Kebab House, a charming Indian restaurant located in the heart of the city. As a fan of Indian cuisine, Upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy ambiance For starters, I opted for the Vegetable Samosas the accompanying mint chutney provided a refreshing contrast to the savory flavors. As for the main course, I decided to try their Chicken Tikka Masala and Butter Naan. The chicken was tender and succulent, coated in a creamy tomato-based sauce that had just the right amount of spice. The naan bread was perfectly baked, soft on the inside with a delightful buttery crust. The portion sizes were generous, ensuring that I left the restaurant feeling fully satisfied. The prices were reasonable In conclusion, Indian Curry and Kebab House is a fantastic I cant wait to return and indulge in more of their mouthwatering dishes!
Tasty food Good customer service
Very good service, good menu not overly priced. Quality of food is very much appreciated . They know how to prepare Indian dishes and all are top-notch, A must try restaurant with Family and friends
Awesome ambience and delicious food... Quantity is also good and the same as service... In the heart of Ottawa.. Definitely recommend
First time eating at this restaurant and it wont be my last. Everything was so delicious and flavourful. Who really needs utensils when they provide you with such fresh naan bread that you can scoop everything up? This was a late lunch but it kept me full until the following day. Highly recommend it.
Update: Buffet is really bad. Kheer was not cooked. Lamb was bad. Butter chicken was not cooked. I have been at this place for a couple of times! The taste is really good and the food served is fresh! Initial Review I would recommend: 1. Chaats 2. Chole Bhature 3. Makhmali kebab Staff is also good and the wait time is not too long!
Overall food was good and prices were decent
By far the best Indian style kababs I have had in Canada. I would highly recommend their Fish Tikka for starters. Naan breads were super freshly and the gravy was ginger licking good. Parking: Lots of paid public parking available nearby
We ve been going there since October 2019 and never found a better place to replace where we feel home. In between, there was change of owners but they quality and hospitality did only go up. The current owner is very kind and talented businessman. He cares about what matters the most for the customers and I guess that is all I want to see in a host. Good food, feeling of home and respect at client we have paisa wasul experience:) Dietary restrictions: Halal, vegetarian and gluten free everyone has got something to enjoy there.
Hands down best dum aloo. Highly recommended
Small portions.
Good indian food
Authentic Indian food, true flavors and yet easy on the stomach. Must try
Phenomenal kebab! We got an exclusive conversation with the owner, who has some very good insights. We also learned that hes been running this place for 27 years and went to culinary school in southern India. It shows! He understood my taste in spice and it was delicious. My wife almost cried it was so good. Highly recommend.
Visited the restaurant by look. But was really impressed with the quality and taste. Authentic Indian taste for all food we ate. Must visit restaurant
The manager is HORRIBLE AND RUDE.He treated the group so poorly. He was so condescending. The customer service is really bad. We waited 1 hour for our food and on top of this they got the order horribly messed up. I understand the mistake with food but manager s behaviour was disgusting. We will never go to the restaurant ever again.
The manager s behavior was disgusting. The restaurant was not crowded and i still had to wait for an hour to get the food, and when it came, it wasn t what we ordered. The customer service is quite bad and the people here are unapologetic about it.
Had the buffet. Top tip, it stops at 9.00pm, if, like us, you get there after 8.00 items will be unavailable and they will start kicking you out at 8.40! Food that we had was OK, but restricted choice. A la carte seems to serve later.
It s a great experience. The ambiance is very welcoming and charming. Amazing service and food.staff are extremely knowledgeable and make great recommendations. Food served on time no delays even for second orders. Making the customers happy is their main priority. Do yourself a favour and visit this lovely restaurant with family and friends.
Hidden gem !! A must try restaurant in Ottawa
6 s This was a magical feast. Beautiful people run and serve here Vegetarian options: Delicious Many Vegan options
Nothing special. Definitely doesn t justify the price. Edit: price per person Food : 3/5
Bad food_ we ordered aloo n gobi paratha,, paid 42 dollars they served us the ready made ones,, they taste so bad __ never recommend this
This is probably one of the best indian cuisine I have had in my trip to ottawa. The way they have matched the taste to indian food is excellent. I would recommend everyone to try this place out in Ottawa.
Plan very good warm welcome and really caring atmosphere.
My favorite North Indian restaurant in Ottawa. The food is absolutely delicious, fresh ingredients, perfectly spiced, and the portions are great. If youre dining in, do try their apps platter and ask for extra mint chutney.
Service, Ambience was fantastic. Food was good but they put a lot of green chillies in it. We asked for spicy and all they did was add crazy amount of green chillies in it. Server was very helpful. They do have Patio and sunday they have buffet. Paneer Lababdar is always nice here. Wont recommend any stuffed parathas/naans.
It s the Patiala fish with mint sauce for me. Just incredible depth of flavours. My go to for Indian cuisine in Ottawa. Fantastic selection for vegetarians too!
This place is the best Indian restaurant in the city. I ve lived here my whole life Vegetarian options: They can make stuff veg and vegan no problem.0
This is the worst restaurant I have ever visited. They dont even know how to treat their customer some of the staff was so rude. I had the worst experience and will never recommened this place to anyone. the food is not properly cooked. and when we complained it is not properly cooked they started showing us arrogance. Even they charged us 18% tip on the name of gratuity and they didnt even informed us initially that it will be charged over our bill and the reason they give us for charging it as amandate was they served us late. If that was the case they should have informed us upfrontly that they will be charing us 18% over the bill then we would have considered a different place. But no they chose to just charge the same without even letting us know.
Tadka dal was missing the tadka and Makhmali chicken Kebab was a bit chewy. But not bad. Overall good food.
Yesterday I tried dosa and it was very good. Delicious!! Never had such dosa even in Toronto. Don t think just go for the dosa.
Stopped in for lunch one day while in town and the food was phenomenal. We have a lot of Indian restaurants in my hometown and this one stood tall with all of the best! The service was also friendly and attentive. Id love to come back next time Im in Ottawa.
Quality food. Kebab is great. Will come back.
One of the better indian restaurants in Ottawa. Their kebabs are good! They have buffets on sundays.
I dont know how less than 5 stats for this place...excellent service ..great food..and be patient the chef is taking care of all...omg what food. Had alo chat, jackfruit biryani, bhature and achari chicken... Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian too
It s very tasty!! Great place!! Thanks Food
Had the goat roganjosh (would recommend), veg assorted pakoras (was okay), dum biryani and garlic naan. All were good. Raita was sweet, which was not expected. Location is great. Pricing was fair and not expensive. Food : 4/5
Good meal, decent decoration.
Mediocre experience overall, some dishes were quite good, but unfortunately service is so poor, its the kind of service that gives desis a really bad name. I recommend hiring more professional staff
Plastic filled naan and roti. Naan filled with plastic brush bristles and Roti filled with wrap plastic. Such a worst eatery . I pity on folks who had posted with great 5 stars look for quality before taste. Thanks. Thanks for ur response, visit date was Aug 5, 2023 around 6 pm. Your staff acknowledged that bristle particle is from the plastic brush your chef is using for cleaning on hot pan and plastic wrap used while storing dough in fridge. I have the video proof of it.
Ive been coming here for years and years (both dine-in and delivery) because its always been the best Indian restaurant in Ottawa. I dont know what happened, if they got a new chef or changed their recipes or its something to do with their new plastic takeout containers or what, but when I ordered last night it definitely was not the best anymore. They used to make thick, creamy curries, but when we ordered curries last night we got soups instead. It was the thinnest curry Ive ever had, just watery and disappointing, like all the cheaper Indian places in Ottawa that I try to avoid. Ive had their paneer and mushroom vindaloo countless times, and what I got last night was absolutely not what Ive expected in the past. It was more like a few mushrooms floating in spicy water. I hope they change back to the food they used to make, which was always delicious and satisfying. With the quality of the food that I received last night, Im not sure Ill be coming back. Edit: You can take the gentle criticism of a loyal customer to heart, or you can try and gaslight me by saying our vindaloo has always been that way. I can assure you it hasnt been, and if you had actually read my review, youd address the fact that I was comparing your new watery vindaloo to your old tasty one. If this is the restaurants way of dealing with feedback, I guess I got my answer: I simply will stop spending my money at your restaurant if youre telling me that this far worse dish is what I should expect from now on.
A good place to taste Indian cuisine Have a wonderful experience every time /real taste of north India
An absolute nightmarish of an experience. The food was way too spicy. Felt like the chef just used up half an ounce of green chillies just to cook a portion of Daal makhni. They have no clue of spice levels mean. On any given day, Dal makhani and rice is considered to be comfort food but this was the exact opposite. Barely got to just a few spoons of rice.
Excellent food and service! Went with a large group of 11 people with mixed dietary restrictions, service was excellent, everyone loved their food! Vegetarian options: They have a ton of vegetarian options. Both in appetizers, curries and rice.
Very good Indian restaurant! The only disappointment I have is the Tiramisu Cheesecake which is simply a tiramisu which seems a lot like the ones you can buy at Costco which is very expensive at 6.99$... Other than the dessert, everything was great!
This is a nice place, the food is great!
I ordered a set meal of lamb leg and shoulder meat, and the waiter described the type of food incorrectly. I repeatedly confirmed that it was a complete lamb leg, but the meal I received was chopped meat pieces. A bowl the size of a fist costs $28. During the waiting period, I asked for a glass of water, but the waiter didnt give me until i leave, but I still paid a 13% tip ,tasted not bad but not worth it,and I wont go again
Oct 2023. Paid parking is available. Tried the buffet for $30 plus hst per person. All was very delicious. Tip is to check every dish before loading your plate. Unfortunately I had had lots of delicious veggie dishes on the right before realizing that the sumptuous meat dishes were at the far left. Will definitely return
Happened to stumble upon this place with my husband on a cold Friday evening, and had no idea what to expect. The food is excellent, and the staff are very kind, cordial, and accommodating of allergies (celiac disease and a dairy allergy). Highly recommend the mixed kebab platter, cooked in the tandoori oven! Thanks so much.
Chicken biryani was WILD. This is coming from a Karachi person who knows what real biryani is. When they say its hot, it IS hot! Chai was also good. I went in with low expectations due to my experiences with other Indian restaurants but this one exceeded my expectations. Although it is a bit on the fancier side. $20 for a biryani is too much imo but the taste and the ambience makes it worth it. Dietary restrictions: Halal
Tried the Chicken Haryali kebab and it was too good!
Careful ... they always add a gratuity to their bills by default and expect you to pay an additional tip on top. Very slow service Food was just normal Food
The food was good and delicious. Highly recommended for a party get together or a simple hangout.
Food is ok-aish! Service is really bad, went for pickup after 30 minutes. Had to wait for another 20 minutes. The staff will lie to your face about the wait time.
They ve got tasty biryani s special.
