197 Bank St, Ottawa, ON K2P 1W7, Canada
Counter-service Indian eatery offering a familiar range of curries, appetizers & combo platters.
They have a Shahi Paneer that is, to put simply, to die for - extremely flavourful and creamy, hitting all the right spots. Service is always friendly and food is delicious; you can never go wrong with such a perfect combination! If you are looking for a great Indian place in downtown Ottawa, you would never go wrong with Roast N Curries!
Amazing curry. Made it on a quiet Thursday night and the food was great. Easily one of the best Indian curries in Ottawa. Had the beef heel curry and it was flavourful, perfectly spicy, and so tender. The rice was perfectly cooked, the side salad was super fresh, and the garlic naan is absolutely to die for. Would recommend to anyone.
Very good food. Great service! I took to go and it was very fast. The atmosphere is also nice to seat and enjoy the food.
Butter chicken sauce is velvety smooth, thanks to the addition of cream and butter, which gives the dish its indulgent, melt-in-your-mouth quality. A well-made naan is soft and pillowy, with a slightly crispy exterior and a warm, fluffy interior.
If you love Indian food and you are in the Ottawa region, you should drop by and give this place a try! They serve lots of good food and the seating area is quite nice. We took the basmati rice with salad, the Aloo tikki, the butter chicken and something with beef but I forgot the name of it. The food was exceptionally good and it didn’t take much time to get to us. Parking is not free, it’s 0.05$ a minute. Aside from that everything was amazing including the staff.
Ottawa's Indian restaurant was an absolute joy! 🌟 From the heavenly Dal Makhani to the aromatic Jeera Rice and irresistible Garlic Naan, my taste buds were dancing! 🍛🍚🥖 And that Indian curry? Pure flavor party! 🎉 The experience was a happy explosion of authentic taste, making Ottawa feel like a taste of India. The restaurant's dedication to quality shone through, creating a memorable dining adventure. If you're seeking a burst of flavours and a joyful meal, this place is a must-visit! 🌶️😋🇮🇳
Curries were out of this world 👍 the flavors were super deep and complex, very large chunks of melt in your mouth meats and nice and thick gravy/sauce. Both curries tasted extremely different than one another! 🍛 Lamb korma combo (4.9/5) -HUGE succulent lamb pieces -gravy had so much flavor, couldn't have been better! Butter Chicken combo (4.8/5) -great flavored, balanced sweet gravy -big pieces of chicken which were also super tender Garlic and butter Naan (4.7/5) -great flavor -perfect chewy consistency -nice dark spotting from the tandoor oven Samosa; beef, chicken (4.4/5) -both were very good, I preferred the beef -went well with tamari dip I ordered from Uber and chose the larger sized curry combos. The only slight complaint I have is that the salad was delivered in the same container as the warm rice, although the salad was surprisingly still crisp!
Food is good! Most curries taste the same. Butter chicken is the best of all what we tried. Parking is definitely an issue. Need to find street parking.
Good Food
A weekly treat. We ve tried every item on the menu and it all tastes great
amazing food and naans are the best
Wonderful restaurant, chill ambience, brothers owned restaurant with high standards of service, the delicious food taste.
very very delicious amazing
small place that packs lots of flavour in their dishes! great service as well. I recommend the chicken briyani, it never fails.
I was very skeptical before going into the restaurant, all of that disappeared, once I tasted the food. Food
I was craving butter chicken and saw this place had good reviews so I decided to give it a try. The gentleman working was very pleasant. Quickly took my order, the food didn t take long. I had ordered the butter chicken combo with garlic naan. I wasn t expecting a huge amount of chicken I got 5 pieces which was fine for me, the sauce was ok . very mild and just ok the rice underneath was overcooked. The naan was good, it also came with a salad and I believe the dressing was ranch? I could be wrong Midway through the guy comes and asks how everything was (I didn t have the heart to tell him it was OK) anyways would I go back, no unfortunately. I also got a gulab jamun for take out, not expecting much once again but it s a must for me
This place is a scam, they charge approx 20% service fee. Portions are too small not enough. I don t understand how do they have 4.5 google rating, it could be a scam too. Don t waste your money here.
Great lamb curry and naan, authentic indian taste
We had an outstanding early dinner here: lamb korma combo and butter chicken combo. The dishes were well-cooked, well-seasoned and delicious. The korma and garlic naan was some of the best weve eaten anywhere. Service was attentive without being cloying, timely, and prompt. Well recommended!
We arrived July 30 at 8.10 pm. And it was closed...
At first, I thought the restaurant could be more decorated. But the food made up for it. It s really good. And the owner is really nice!
We visited for the first time, were very hungry and praying for good service and food quality for our family of 5. The menu was confusing to understand, need to simplify it. We ordered a lot of food overall. lassi, aloo tiki, samosa chat, chicken biryani - came with Raita, butter chicken, dal Makhni and tried all their naans and deserts. The breads are delicious . Each and every main course and starters was done well. Their staff did a great job with prompt service, checking on us, explaining the menu. First restaurant that we finished every bite that was served including the salads. Loved it . I recommend this place for halal food.
Good place for lamb!
Grabbed the beef platter today and paid $22.89 - it was mostly rice and gravy with a few thick chunks of beef. Parts of the beef were tough and other parts were fatty. They gave a tiny side salad with a small container of dressing that wasn t enough to cover the tiny salad ironically. The place was dark and empty. I wouldn t recommend personally.
Delicious Indian food with good service and reasonable price.
I dont review restaurants often but this place was chefs kiss. We had lamb korma and saag paneer and garlic naan. Never had I ever tasted India food this tasteful and fresh out of kitchen. Will definitely come here again. Food : 5/5
The food was good and the service was amazing. But when the receipt came in I was charged 20% of the bill as tip without my permission. I was gonna tip myself but taking their own tip seems odd.
Overall good its not the best.. Taste can be better.. Their saag paneer is good
We visit this afternoon, delicious food, excellent service and Food was hot when it came to table. Most of time I don t like Indian food cause of bad experience but they changed my mind. must try:)))))
Honestly some of the best butter chicken Ive ever had and the portion size was huge! Loved the meal I had here.
Excellent flavours and very generous portions. Service was unobtrusive and friendly. Naan, lassi, and samosas stood out. Curries are mild and beautifully presented, if a little on the tomato-y end of the spectrum.
This place cant be trusted. They dont open when they say they will and dont update their website with the correct information. Was completely disappointed to make plans and not find the place open despite what the website said
Food is very delicious. Greatly recommend
Awesome food Vegetarian options: Dal makhni, Palak paneer Food : 5/5 |
Following a delightful weekend in Quebec City, we embarked on our journey homeward and serendipitously stumbled upon Roast and Curry, our palates yearning for authentic Indian/Punjabi cuisine. It swiftly became evident that this restaurant was a culinary gem. The food was exquisitely flavourful, accompanied by impeccably fresh tandoori naans, and complemented by affable service. Without hesitation, we anticipate revisiting upon any future sojourns to Ottawa. Vegetarian options: They have good vegetarian options
Ordered through UberEats, don t know why the reviews are inflated. The butter chicken curry wasn t strained and it was too sweet with no kick of spices. Classic mistake, haven t found over 3/5 butter chicken in Ottawa yet. The naan was also to hard my teeth hurt after. The sauce wasn t velvety and rich.
Tried this place twice for takeout. Both times they were late with my order by at least 10 minutes despite requesting a specific pickup time, and had the audacity to ask for a tip for late takeout. Both times the restaurant wasnt even busy. The server Food is good, nothing remarkable but savory curries and good naans.
Experienced the tropical fusion of succulent coconut shrimp curry at your restaurant. Really liked it!!
If you, like me, usually opt for butter chicken or tikka masala at Indian restaurants, do yourself a favour and give the lamb korma a try!! Mild spice, tender meat, creamy sauce - a fantastic, comforting, satisfying meal :) The veggie samosa was large with a delicious sauce, and the garlic naan is massive and chewy. Large plates, good variety, and great prices!
Overall, it was a good experience. The food was good but could have been spicier, but regardless, it was good. I took a star out, as we were a group, and they included gratuity but was not told when paying as they did not hand us the receipt immediately, so I gave extra tips. When I went to inquire after receiving the bill, I was told in Ontario that they automatically include tips of 18% over a group of 5+, but upon calculations, they actually charged 20% tips. They did apologize and wanted to give back the balance, but I declined. It would have been just better customer service wise to advise us while ringing up the bill, and the tips charged were much higher than what the law requires. (We are from another province, and we dont have this system, thank goodness) I will definitely go again, but I learned my lesson to always carefully check the receipts before paying. Kid-friendliness: Stroller-access
The worst meal I ve ever had, not recommended at all.
The food was absolutely disgusting, no flavour at all. Lack of salt, pepper and chilli. We asked for extra spicy flavour, but they were out of chilli he informed. Not recommended, better go to to some other takeout place or subway.
The food here is so delicious! The service time is long but they looked short staffed. Food 100/100 Vegetarian options: Good vegetarian options
I ordered butter chicken platter and garlic naan and mango lassi. I found the taste to be okay-ish. Not too good, not too bad.
We ordered Matar paneer, chicken curry along with butter naan. Being a north Indian and this being our staple diet, we found the curries a little on the sweeter side. The gravy in chicken and Matar paneer tasted almost the same. Must say the Butter Naan were amazing and helped alot with overall food taste. Service was excellent and the guy serving us was prompt and ran the show very well.
I wanted to try real Indian cuisine for so long. I ordered butter chicken and it was amazing. Could be more spicy though. Chicken beriany was also good.
The butter chicken that I got was delicious, but the staff were extremely rude and condescending. They were particularly mean to my wife, and spoke down to her when she inquired about some of the different vegetarian dishes. Id order the food again, but only through a food delivery service!
nice restaurant in the city centre, their butter chicken was a little too mild for me, but the Naan was amazing! The wait was quick and the guy at the counter was attentive and kind :)
AMAZING..!!! Delicious, flavorful homemade food. They re butter chicken is to die for. I ve been to this place multiple times and they do not disappoint. The staff is friendly and take pride in their business. If you want to eat authentic, flavorful and fresh indian food, come to this place. You won t be disappointed. Kudos to the Chef and the Staff. If I could give it 10 Stars, I would !!!
My favourite place for a lamb korma. The butter chicken is also amazing!
Really delicious food especially samosa chaat . Awesome customer service as well.
One of the best Indian cuisine restaurant. Tried chicken kebabs, chicken curry and garlic naan. Everything was delicious.
I had the Lamb platter, regular size, and it was enough to feed two people. The meat was tender and tasty. I would prefer if the had a mixed veg curry option, rather than a western salad on the side. Meat, gravy and plain white rice is not my normal choice. A carrot salad to mix in would be better.
i never drop reviews online but the moment i had the first bite of the butter chicken, it made me pull out my phone and write an amazing review about this place. Amazing flavour, amazing service, amazing ambiance and what not, this restaurant is soo amazing. The staff is also soo down to earth, makes us feel like home. Please visit too and you re gonna thank me.
Came back again after close to 2 years and theyve just gotten better. I can safely say that theyre the most underrated Indian restaurants in Ottawa. Highly recommend for tasty North Indian food
Very generous portion, the taste was Excellent!
Food is fantastic
My boyfriend and I absolutely LOVED eating there! We had butter chicken and lamb curry+ one vegetarian samosa and honestly we really enjoyed everything. My partner thought the lamb curry was delicious and i really liked the butter chicken, it was exquisite!!! The staff was very welcoming and polite. 10/10 would recommend and go back for sure.
Great taste above and beyond. Amazing service as well.
The food at the Roas N Curries is always excellent!!! The staff is welcoming and friendly!!! My favorite restaurant for Indian food!!!
Healthy and Tasty.. nailed Saag Paneer , Butter chicken and Tandoori Roti to perfection. God bless you for such amazing food
I dont know if this is authentic Indian food but at least the food is yummy. Thats all that matter.
Highly recommend 1000%
We took the Big Meals - Shrimp and Butter chicken. It comes with Rice, Salad and Naan. Shrimp and chicken both were delicious. Probably the best Indian restaurant in Canada.
Delicious food, it s worth it to try and I highly recommend it also very good customer service
Wow! Wow ! Wow! My tastebuds are in heaven Chicken Brianyi , alto tiki, and shrimp coconut curry with garlic naan bread Holy smokes this establishment can really satisfy ! The staff are Super polite and friendly and helpful Thank you , thank you, thank you ! Parking: Easy on the side street
Vegetarian options: Dal makhani and Shahi Paneer platter is nice too Food
Good food
Food is tasty yet too mild tasting to be authentic in its cuisine. The ambience is great and the service is exceptional. Dine in experience was great but for takeout, the quantity of food is significantly smaller for the same price.
Best indian restraunt in downtown
I went with a large group (25) and had pre-ordered an assortment of dishes for us to share family style. What this place lacks in atmosphere it makes up in flavours and quality of food. The owner was extremely accommodating and friendly! You can easily walk out of there very full for $20. We spent more because of the variety and beverages. Aloo tikki was our appetizer. OMG Im returning to turn that into a main meal. All sorts of flavours were exploding in my mouth! Wheelchair accessibility: Everything is on one level from the street
The food was good and the quantity is enough to feed 2 people
Not good Not bad
Very good restaurant - Indian cuisine ( Halal) The ambience was alright. Location was perfect. But the food was real yummy. Enjoyed the appetizers very much... Satisfied our hunger and regained our energy after a really adventurous day! We tried their chicken kebab and the butter chicken platter and their butter naan were very delicious!!
We marched on a Sunday afternoon with about a gang of 15 of us... Mandeep was quite friendly and helped with the perfect recommendation. Authentic Indian food. Loved chicken curry and shrimp curry. Garlic Naan was soft and yummy. We were taken care of very well. Definitely recommend.
Great customer service with tasty food. Keep up the good work.
Food was ok...definitely on the pricier side...service is good....ambiance is for a quick lunch stop..
Been here a few times and their food & service never fails to impress. First off, their food is definitely one of the best Indian food places in town (after trying so many). Their butter chicken as well as the lamb khorma, are full of flavour. I also love the garlic butter naan because its always so fresh. 10/10 because their service is always the best and the guys working their are always courteous and polite!!
The food was not tasty at all. The butter garlic naan was salty, chicken curry was made in tomato paste and we could feel the rawness in it. The roti was worst with no taste n salt. Only thing that saved us from being hungry and we could eat that evening was there biryani which was average. The portions served was quite less compared to the price they are charging. I wont recommend this place if you are looking for a good Indian restaurant in and around Ottawa.
Food was so-so and waiting time was long.
Great food and great service!
Great quality food, perfect spice level. Definitely try the chicken tandoori, it was juicy and tasty!
Samosa chaat was delicious. One of the best Ive had.
Great authentic Indian food and good serving sizes. We got the saag paneer and chickpea curry platters. I am dairy free so I also appreciated that the dishes that are dairy free were specified.
I ordered from Roast N Curries for the first time today through Uber eats. The butter chicken combo (large) is AMAZING. Large pieces of chicken smothered in butter chicken sauce, large side of rice and small side salad. Huge piece of naan bread. I also added a vegetable samosa and it was fantastic. I want to hug the cook, this is how good it is. Thank you so much and don t change a single thing!! I ll be ordering again for sure!
Great food and wonderful service
Very good food. The waiter was especially good and friendly.
Great serving size of mouth watering lamb curry for under $20! It could just use some interior decor like a Hindu themed tapestry to brighten up the atmosphere a little.
Butter chicken is fantastic.. one of the best indian restaurants in ottawa downtown .
I really liked the aloo tikki. I would recommend everyone to try that here. Overall it s a good restaurant and my Indian food was okay. Nothing was special about it. Other than that my only concern was that they charged me the tip automatically without asking me even when we were just 2 people. Kid-friendliness: Not kid friendly
Staff has provided an exceptional service. Food is just delicious here. Chef s recommendations were absolutely worth trying. I would attest to those recommendations as well. Every curry was just mouthwatering.
Excellent food, friendly staff, and nice atmosphere. Youll definitely leave with a full tummy! Looking forward to returning.
Exquisite food. Great service let us dine in before closing and a few others.
Delicious food,Great service,Punjabi food
Me and my wife order here pretty regularly, and weve always loved the food, and the price is still reasonable, not cheap, but reasonable. The beef just melts perfectly and tastes fantastic, the butter chicken is delicious, creamy, yet delicate... try this place, honestly
CHEATERS - you will be forced to pay gratuity without reason at this place They will charge you 17% gratuity without reason and will say it is service charge. To the guy working in the restaurant on July 3rd evening- I have been living in North America for 10 years and have been in Europe as well. I understand the meaning of service charge, gratuity and tip. The food was ok but zero star to their staff. We were four people and we went there around 7 pm for dinner. While paying the bill, I noticed that the waiter added 17% gratuity to my bill.. He said it is the service charge. I was surprised. I have been eating at different places in Ottawa and had never been charged for service fees. I told him that it should be with me to decide how much I would tip him, but he said it is normal to charge service fee and other restaurants does the same. IT WAS PURE CHEATING.
Indian restaurant close to the parliament hills. Food was okay but pricy for the quantity given.
We ppl of 12 with kids went to the restaurant on Saturday around nite. Each person order whatever they want (a lot )and with 30 mins span of time we got what all we ordered must try dishes are (dal makhani, tandoori shrimp was too good matar paneer )briyani s good but not upto our expectations service was super fast over all it was very good Vegetarian options: They had vegetarian options
Amazing food, excellent customer service. Definitely recommend this place
Amazing staff and very delicious food. Staff recommends great options.
Local restaurant, accessible, family restaurant, but worth going, the Tandoori chicken, we loved it, the Nan was also great. No papadoms, but its ok.
I just popped in and ordered butter chicken for takeout. The server was so friendly and charming! Food was ready in 10 mins and since they accidentally made an extra naan for another order, they just gave it to me with my order and also gave me extra sauce. I so appreciate that and it made my evening! Thank you so much! I ll be back for sure. Oh and the food is fantastic!!!
Best Indian food in town!! Their butter chicken is amazing with good portions. The chicken so tender and it s freshly done. The naan is also fresh and tastes so good. 11/10 never disappoints!!!
Delicious! Extremly pleasant staff !
Had the lamb korma combo with garlic naan and delicious. Great and friendly service.
Excellent curry very lovely staff a great place for fantastic food
Food was great and good portions for the thali. The chicken pakora was a bit too salty, but aside from that, great food. Porottas were soft and authentic. Was disappointed with the Madras coffee as it wasnt close to a real Madras coffee taste
Nice little family run place in the streets of Ottawa ... The food exceeded my expectations considering the taste I know from the streets of my hometown back in Indian part of Punjab... May improve on the service and presentation part
Really enjoyed the food here. I went there with my team and was pleasantly surprised by the taste, quality and quantity of the lunch plate. There were about 10 of us who went there and we pretty ordered almost every lunch plate amongst us and everyone enjoyed what they ordered. All my Indian and non-Indian colleagues enjoyed their meal. It s rare that Indian food satisfies both these parties. Will definitely be going back here for more!!
The food is very delicious
Butter chicken was mediocre, not worth it.
Great service and great food!!!
This place surprised me! As you can see in the video, it was sizzling hot & very tasty! The chicken was tender & full or flavour, this place rightfully deserves to be a 4.5
Went there on sunday night around the time of closure and I was pleansently surprised! We ordered a couple different dishes and we absolutely loved everything specially the Bhel Puri. Good portions. Good prices and good service. And it was full of indian families eating there, which is usually indicative of the quality and authenticity ! Will go back soon thats for sure!
I take out samosas from here , they we the old that the guy grilled it and gave to me. I don t know about other offerings by them but this order for me was not worth the covering of samosas were dark
Great food. Lovely service. Their Chicken Curry is a must try!
I had butter chicken take out, and it was very bland. The naan was top notch though. Honestly I ve had canned butter chicken sauce that was way more flavorful.
Delicious. Massive portions. Will definitely be back.
Updated, Sept 20, 2023. Still delicious food, still really nice people. I can highly recommend, and Ill be getting takeout more often. My office moved during the pandemic and I really missed this restaurant! Super tasty food, large portions, excellent service, fair prices, and nice decor. I really like this place and highly recommend!
The food is more like home cooked so u enjoy it more
Great service Nice quantity and it was very good I recommend
I went here after seeing many Indian families eat here on a regular basis and I wasn t disappointed. This is the best Indian restaurant in Ottawa. The food is extremely flavourful and authentic. The owner is a very genuine and kind person who really cares about your experience. Go here, you won t regret it.
Recommended. The food was excellent and the location was great. Atmosphere is okay with basic seating arrangements.
Biryani was really good
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was average. Asked for spicy and it seemed they just added chillis rather dulling the complexity (if there was any). Slightly disappointed considering the rave reviews Vegetarian options: Some of the usual options, not a huge range
Great customer service. Food was really good Worth a visit!
Great food and very kind staff.
Top notch Indian food. Would recommend for take out or eat in. Food
A small and cozy place but with the food quality of a proper dine in restaurant. Vegetarian options: Saag paneer, dal makhani and more
Between Seattle, Vancouver, Surrey, Brampton and Toronto, this is best tasting Butter Chicken & Garlic Naan I ve ever had. The perfect balance of sweet, creamy and spicy with tender chicken & chewy naan is as close as this dish gets to great food back in India. Though very well rated already, don t even think about other Indian restaurants around and just eat here. Great service, clean interior and amazing food!
The staff make the experience.
Food was delicious no doubt about it, service time was a little too much. Price wise was more expensive than expected. Food
Phenomenally good food at decent prices. Their butter chicken and naan are magnificent!
I visited this restaurant for the first and last time. The sweet food had an awful taste, spice and flavour balance was completely off, the overall experience was disappointing. Indian food in a mall food court surpasses this place. The kitchen was dirty, hallways were old and sticky, and the bathroom was unclean. I wont be returning.
The most tender beef curry I have ever had. Great service as well when we were there last, but this time we did takeout. Food was packaged carefully as well. Very happy and will be going back!
Food is very good. A little pricy but you get a nice plate. Service is good and employees are very pleasant. I loved the lamb corma combo. Ive been there a few times and have suggested it to some friends. Food
Great curry house. Lamb Korma with garlic naan was solid!
Food is good but terrible service. We have to go to the counter to get the bill and when you go to counter and we have to wait for that too. Very poor service, and when you tip less, they do back-talk and you can literally hear them.
I ordered Aloo Tikki, It was closing time so it wasn t available. The chef asked me and replaced it with Dal and Rice. It was so yummy. Totally worth it. Chef was very kind and sweet. I ll visit the place again. Thank you so much for the food. Vegetarian options: They have couple vegetarian options which is best in my case because in Canada you won t find that many places which have wide range of vegetarian indian food.
Good food and helpful staff. Price was okay and place was clean. There was a lot of take out order but our combo order for dine in was ready in under 15 min.
Good Food , a bit expensive. Excellent service by staff. Enjoyed Dal Makhani , butter chicken with garlic Naan and Mango lassi.
Randomly stumbled upon this restaurant while looking for a quick takeout in Ottawa downtown. Food turned out to be really amazing and fresh.
Great food, great ambiance! Amazing service!
The lamb dishes are amazing but the chicken ones tasted quite bland. Felt unnaturally full and bloated after a medium-sized meal, which took a while to go away.
Best butter chicken I ate . It is so flavourful!
5 stars for their chicken biryani. Hands down. There are only two places in Ottawa Ive found that do authentic Punjabi chicken biryani. This place is one of them!
Amazing takeaway
This is the best place to have Indian food. Not only the environment is welcoming but so are even the people. The best part is the food, found it better than what I could get back in India. The host makes sure that you are enjoying the food and will always be approachable. He was even accommodating as we had child. Will definitely visit again whenever I come back at Ottawa.
Obviously great food but most amazing point, great service by our server who served us in french, was very helpful with questions and took great care of us. Never had such an experience in an Indian restaurant, not even anywhere in Quebec. Great work
Best Indian food in town.but overpriced but yeah its worth it
Ordered chana tikki platter, butter chicken combo, chai It was amazing ! Authentic indian taste
Excellent food! Excellent Service! Excellent location! We chose 4 different vegetarian dishes and each one was beyond delicious!! Roast N Curries is a gem!
We had dinner at this restaurant today, the dinner was delicious. My family really enjoyed it!! Food was amazing. And staffs were super friendly. Overall I really enjoyed it.
Visited for the first time and loved it. The food is exactly what I expected.
Worst experience! They have forced tips system. They automatically charged me $20.94 tips since we were 4 in group and they forced me to pay. Food is expensive and they didn t have all the foods in menu. Washroom is the most worst. I have never seen such a dirty and shabby washroom in Canada.
Butter Nan feels feels like Biscuits !
The food is freaking amazing !
Ok food bad service
Honestly, the food tastes good. However, the servings are bad and illogical. A large plate for ~$23 contained only few pieces of chicken (rice not included). That is equivalent to $3-4 per piece of chicken. So overall, despite the food being good, we (a family of 6) left the place still a little hungry and with a big bill.
All of us overate in spite of ourselves!
So yummy!!! Service was great and the food was amazing! I will be coming again!
Food was great till i had to induce vomiting because of an allergic reaction to the nuts
Must try Chiken Kebab.
My partner and I had a delicious meal here, but what made the experience really shine was the service. The server was so helpful, professional, and accommodating! I was so impressed. This restaurant gets a spot on my go-to list and I m looking forward to going back with friends and coworkers.
Really good food and service. Biryani and naan was okay but the butter chicken was really good.
Really good biryani! I was craving since a long time and their biryani was really good. Service deserved more than 5 stars. Butter chicken and garlic naan were excellent as well.
Great place.
Food was just excellent and never had such a tasty garlic naan ever. Curries were too good. A must visit place.
Best restaurant in downtown Ottawa hands down !!.. very tasty food with courteous service ..highly recommended !
Nice biryani and lamb curry
Delicious food
First thing: they do not have a changing table for babies. So in case you have a baby who needs a diaper change you are completely out of luck. Food: we ordered the bundle that would serve 4 people. It took them 30 mins just to bring out drinks(canned soda pop) and then additional 15 mins to bring out the rest of the food. The naans were not even real naans they were frozen naan breads from the packet. We ordered everything mild.. but didn t know mild would mean sugary and no salt/pepper or anything else. Samosas: The filling lacked salt/ seasoning. Butter chicken: so sweet Dal makhani: had tadka but no salt at all Shrimp curry: shrimp that was not even properly boiled and added on the top and hence not even marinated or seasoned at all. And they added cinnamon sticks that made the whole Gravy extremely sweet. Shahi paneer: somewhat decent but once again lacked any kind of seasoning. The best food item was the coke that came in the can.. too bad it took them 30 mins to bring it to us. We came to visit Ottawa for the very first time and had high expectation from the restaurant due to over 4 star ratings but were left completely disappointed. Vegetarian options: No salt or seasoning
Arguably the best butter chicken in the downtown area, or perhaps even all of ottawa! I prefer to do the take out and enjoy at home!
Delicious food and huge portions! Visited for the first time with some friends for lunch and it was great.
I order almost everyday and experience is good but today not. Chicken Biryani did not feel fresh at all. Chicken tasted like its 2 3 days old. Not impressed please make sure you sent fresh food, when some one is paying from their hard earned cash. Its not good to give bad quality food in return.
The food was hot and tasty. Friendly staff. The only thing I would mention is the atmosphere is in need of new paint and decor, higher end on meal prices. $$
The best Indian food in Ottawa and the owners are so nice. The chickpea curry and paneer (the orangey one, forget the name) are so good. If I were rich, Id eat here once a week. Its super consistent, never had a sub-par meal. I leave full and happy because it was money well spent. Love this place.
Awesome Indian food. We ordered butter chicken and lamb corma on recommendation from staff and we enjoyed it alot. Worth a try if you looking for punjabi food in Ottawa Downtown.
