This place has become a go to for fantastic Italian. Great wine list, the food is outstanding- venison fettuccine, arancini, fried mozzarella, and very solid cheesecake. Hostess, Bartenders, all Staff are the friendliest group this side of the airport! Staying at a local hotel weve dined with Mr. Bs 3 out of 5 nights. It really is that good- do yourself a favor and spend your money here. Easy 5 of 5 stars. Vegetarian options: Good selection of meat-free food.

We ate here three times during our visit to Ottawa. It s that good! Sat at the bar on one night for venison ragu fettuccine, did take out on two other nights. Lasagna, manicotti, smelts, chicken parm everything was delish! We will be back.

Had a girls night with a bestie - our server Julia was absolutely a treat to be served by her - she was very pleasant and accommodating to all our requests. Thank you for such a wonderful dining experience.

Zucchini and bruscheta were very good but three of us had different dishes with the cream sauce and found it absolutely tasteless. Tasted like flour. Very dissapointing. One of rare occasions we didnt bother bringing the leftovers home. Also cannot believe that their tip guide at the bottom on the bill is based on total plus tax. So misleading and should not be allowed.

Every now and again you unexpectedly walk in to the perfect dining experience. Genuinely delightful service, reasonable prices, and everything on the menu is a hit. Our server was very welcoming, friendly and attentive when we needed her. The food (appetizers and entrees) was so delicious! It was the best frutti di mare fettuccine I have ever had! We were impressed that the owner visited every table. We will definitely be going back soon!

Very difficult experience when I witnessed a family be kicked out because they were Jewish. Just made me very sad to see that this isn t a neutral place where people of all backgrounds and cultures can come together and enjoy food.

This restaurant is now my favourite Italian restaurant in Ottawa. We ordered the smelts, cheese ravioli, tortellini, carbonara, fettuccine alfredo, tiramisu, peach cobbler pie and zuccotto. Everything was delicious and the prices were super reasonable! Service was excellent. I highly recommend this place.

I visited Mr. Bs recently for a private gathering and I was totally impressed by the food and service inside this little gem in the south of the city. I frequently go to this strip mall and never noticed this restaurant but now that I know it I will be back to try other delicacies. I fully recommend it.

Food is great, my family and I have been eating there for years and in their previous location too. We have celebrated many of our birthday s eating our favorite pastas, mainly there chicken penne in crème rosé sauce, which is mine and my daughters favorite, my son prefers their chicken Parmesan with the nicely melted mozzarella cheese on the breaded chicken breast served with fettuccini Alfredo pasta and for my husband the shrimp linguini in crème rosé. You should definitely try their deep fried zucchini sticks with the delicious dipping sauce, it s so amazingly good. Overall, one of the best Italian pasta places in Ottawa.

Had my baby shower here back in March and the owner and staff could not have given me a better experience. Everyone was raving about the food and the owner was so kind to deal with throughout the organizing process. The staff were very attentive and they also made my friends with babies very comfortable by providing areas for feeding and changing. I would definitely host another event here and will be returning for dinners!

We have been coming to Mr. B s since moving to Ottawa in 2021. The owner Tommy is very hands on and obviously cares about the quality of the service and the food in his establishment. Servers like Giuliana have a sense of joy in their superb and attentive customer service. The food is always delicious. My wife particularly likes the homemade lasagna which she says is the best in Ottawa. We also like the fact that we can buy homemade sauces to take home for prep of our own pasta meals. We have celebrated our birthdays and anniversary meals at Mr. B s this Summer and they went out of their way to make it special. We are so HAPPY we found this GEM .. Mr B s Osteria. SUCH a hidden gem - cant believe I hadnt visited sooner. The staff are lovely and warm, and the food was UNBELIEVABLE. Fantastic wine, and I cant describe how delicious the pasta was. A meal where you cant stop praising the chef. This place makes me proud of Ottawas food scene.

Okay. I know I posted a lot since I ve been in Ottawa, but I have to post about this restaurant. My daughter and I are halfway through our pasta and we have been sharing both pastas because it is so good. I love the vibe in here. Family owned. All the waitresses are so sweet. Service was quick. Food was quick and delicious. Some thing that doesn t happen often. If you want to go and have Italian food, actually authentic Italian food, this is the place. This is a must visit in Ottawa. If this was in Hamilton, I d be here every second day. Trust me, it s worth coming here.

We celebrated my son s 25th birthday there last night. The service was exceptional. The restaurant was mostly full, the food came hot and very tasty and very generous portions. Overall, a great experience we ve been coming here for a number of years and we truly enjoy it.

The thing that stood out the most was the service; however not for the right reasons. The woman serving us had very little manner, she forgot one of the appetizers, spilt water all over the table and my grandmother. The main course was quite good but they really missed their mark with the bruschetta (soggy and not fresh) and the cheese cake (crumbly and tough)

Went for an adult birthday party. Fourteen adults, one child. Several options available for different tastes. Next time I would order an appetizer for the little ones to hold them over until food arrived. To be clear, food arrived in a reasonable time for such a large group of adults and was very good.

Very very pleasant experience Starting off with the staff, they were great! Was very knowledgeable about the specials and offered their honest opinions about the cocktails. I want to give our waitress a shoutout but I can t remember her name, but I recall she had a tattoo on her left arm written in Arabic Onto the food, it was amazing. I d gotten a chicken dish that was a special that night. The chicken was very tender, and had come with perfectly cooked risotto. I d go back to that restaurant just to have it again. The pizza was also delicious! Now for the atmosphere, inside the restaurant was great! The aesthetic was haute but still warm and welcoming. Only suggestion I have is that the owner should update the outer banner. I had trouble finding the restaurant and if I hadn t seen the photos on google, I would ve assumed it was cheap take out restaurant. All in all, amazing experience, can t wait to bring my parents here!

We went for dinner and it was delicious! Service was good, everything we had was delicious and came out hot. Zucchini sticks are the best I ve ever had, they re not greasy at all yet still crispy. Everyone enjoyed their meals and their deserts.

Mr Bs is one of my absolute FAV restaurants in Ottawa! If you love Italian food you must try this place. The food is always delicious and served by friendly staff. My fav is the Seafood Salad which is drizzled with their own Honey Lime dressing, very tasty! This item is not on the dinner menu (lunch menu only) but you can ask for it and they will happily serve it to you for dinner! Their pasta dishes are to die for as well...cant forget the apps - zucchini sticks and stuffed mushrooms, the best! I highly recommend this restaurant..5 STARS!!

We ordered the pulled beef and the brisket burger. Both were very juicy and flavorful. Were planning to come back to order other things. If youre in the area, its a must try.

We stopped in on a Saturday night. It was busy but they did find us a table. Staff seemed a little busy running around which made the service slow. Food that arrived was good and all seemed freshly cooked. I would return again if in the area and wanted Italian.

What a find! We were all on the mood for Italian and decided to try something close to home. All pasta dishes were fantastic: rigatoni bolognese (with meatballs), fettuccine in cream sauce with shrimp and linguine with small shrimp, clams, crab, scallops and mussels in a red sauce. Escargot was great. Good selection of wines and beer. Waitress was fun and engaging. Make sure you get a reservation on the weekend. We went early on a Friday and it was packed!

5 of us went for supper last night and I just had to come to write a review. We all had something different and we all loved it. The food was great and the service couldnt have been better. There were 4 people bringing out our food all at the same time. We will definitely be going back and recommending it to others.

Have eaten at this place many times and enjoyed the food and service. I went in January the food was terrible , Caesar salad was more like a vinegar salad, the fish I ordered had a dressing that tasted like chicken bouillon and the service was so slow that we were forgotten about a few times. Its too bad , I would not frequent this place again.

I saw the reviews and thought this will be amazing, but unfortunately I was disappointed. I had ordered the pasta, expecting it to be fresh, but sadly, it was not. I did not feel this was homemade Italian food. Service was so lovely though.

Great food, wine and service. Pasta was cooked perfectly!..That s rare in Ottawa. Our server Megan was amazing. I ll be back. Kid-friendliness: I brought my 2 year old daughter. Even though she is well behaved, they were more than accommodating. They have high chairs and booster seats. Megan even brought her some milk to end the evening! As good as a dining experience gets when you bring a toddler.

For a reason I didn t understand, the restaurant owner only contacted my friend during the service. Did he like the meal? Is he still hungry? Also I know my friend isn t regular customer in this restaurant. It was as if I wasnt at the table all evening. The taste of the food was delicious. Family restaurant, nice decor. As someone who spent a long time in Italy, it is nice to see that there is such a place in Ottawa. But the attitude in service was disappointing. We both ate Medallions Of Fillet Mignon. And I had only chance to take a picture during the desserts time.

New location is fantastic! Bigger, newer, and with the same great tasting food. Everything Ive tried has been amazing... EVERYTHING! My favourite is the Chicken Parmigiana, and you have a choice of veggies or a pasta (linguine with rose is awesome). The staff are quick and helpful. The food doesnt take too long to come out of the kitchen. I absolutely recommend this place to anyone.

Delicious pasta

Not enough staff, too long to be served, way too long to get the meal, was not hot. A sign of the times l guess. We go out once a weak to different places and boy things are sure disappointing, higher price ,smaller serving, and a ridiculous tipping 15% gone now 18 ,25, 30, this definitely not helping anyone.

A little known fact is that B stands for Best Italian food in Ottawa, hands down, but their marketers said, What? Thats way too long of a name, its evidently clear youve never taken a marketing course before, so they changed it to Mr. Bs. 5/5 would eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner here.

This was our first visit to this establishment and I have to say it was well worth it! We were fortunate enough to be served by the owner s daughter(Melissa sp?) and she was absolutely wonderful! We had the Arancini which was lovely, I had a filet Minion with freshly made meat ravioli; you can taste the fact that everything is cooked to order fresh! My sister had Fruitti di Mare. She raved about it as the seafood was perfectly cooked! Try the Affogato for dessert as it s simple yet luxurious.

During a business trip our flights got canceled until the next day so myself and a coworker were a bit grumpy to begin with. We found this place on a whim based on reviews that was close to the hotel we were staying in turned out to be the best meal of our trip! We sat at the bar, shared a bottle of Chianti, and had an excellent bowl of pasta. My fettuccine di mare exceeded my expectations. Texture of the pasta was perfect, tomato sauce was delicious and it had plenty of seafood in the dish. I will be recommending this restaurant to my friends in the area!

Service and food were excellent! Good size portions and nice presentation. Its in a strip mall so plenty of parking. Lots of space, tables arent jammed up tight to each other. Would be nice to see some booths for more privacy. Bench seating was great but the chairs (they are padded) arent the most comfortable. Me and my friends came there for the first time today. Our server had blonde hair, female, without glasses and appeared to be in their mid 30-50. There was no eye contact when she took our orders and she was rude. When we were done it took her a long time to send the bill so we ended up staying two hours in the restaurant. I was not pleased with the service so my friends and I did not give tips. She made us feel bad and stated, you know you just paid for the meal right? Do you not see the tip sign? I didn t say anything at first but then she kept on making comments so I said her attitude was rude and that we waited a very long time for our bill. She kept swearing to herself when we pressed the no tip button. Overall that was an unpleasant experience and it s unfortunate because we are very loyal customers to our favourite restaurants.

There was a very rude and disrespectful lady, the service was not it. She literally forced a tip from us and said u guys don t seem to go to lots of restaurants which was very rude and disrespectful, and at the beginning she wasn t focused with us and took a while to give us a bill. It was our first time visiting and never again. She had blond hair and is mid age. And was wearing all black. Please teach your staff to be respectful because it was our first experience and I m sure other customers won t like it.

It was a great dining experience. We had calamari and warm olives for appetizer. Manicotti was superb. Penne arrabiata with sausages had the perfect seasoning and heat. We received a complimentary dessert as it was our anniversary. Service was exemplary Highly recommended.

Visited in December 2022: Delicious! My first time visiting this restaurant and Im surprised that I havent been here sooner! This is definitely a hidden gem to me! I ordered the FRUITTI DI MARE with tomato sauce as Im a seafood lover and its so delicious! One of my colleagues ordered this dish but with cream sauce and she loved her food too! We also had some zucchini lengths and that was tasty too! Reservations are recommended as it gets busy during holiday seasons. Ill definitely come back again.

Lovely meal and very good service, unless you meet the owner. What a horrible experience. We ended our lovely meal and where just waiting for one of our memebers to come back from the restrooms, when the owner came up and briskly and rudely asked us to vacate the table as he needed it asap. He was rude and honestly after having a lovely meal. Left all of our party with a sour taste and we will never be back and highly don t recommend this place.

We had an older blonde lady as our waitress who seemed like she hates her life. Barely gave us the time of day. The food was gross, I had fettuccine with chicken and the chicken looked and tasted like it was boiled in water and had a horrible taste. No seasoning on anything or within the sauce. My friend had a seafood plate and couldnt eat it. No one asked why our plates were full when we left. We asked for the bill which took forever then the blonde lady started yelling at who Im assuming is the owner (older man) right behind our table. I felt very uncomfortable and robbed for the quality of food we received. Will not go back.

We made a last minute decision to have dinner at this restaurant and were glad that we did. Adriana was our server, and she was phenomenal. My daughter knocked over her Shirley Temple and Adriana promptly cleaned it all up and brought out another one, on the house. The linguine carbonara was delicious and the NY strip steak was cooked perfectly to our liking - medium-rare. Next time Im in Ottawa I will definitely eat here again.

This was my first dinner at Mr. B s since they moved from their old location ( not sure when that was ): although a much bigger restaurant than before, it lacks the intimate atmosphere that their old location possessed. Due to the high ceilings, voices carry quite a lot which makes it a very noisy environment. If you like that kind of atmosphere, then Mr B s is for you. The food is OK ( I found my pasta sauce to be too thick) and the prices are reasonable when compared to some other eating establishments. I really miss the old place though

We came here with my parents and they usually eat small dinners, so they opted out of entrées and ordered a few appetizers instead. We were asked on several occasions there were only two entrées was that right? insinuating we were cheap. The waitress was a blonde middle aged lady as previous posts hates her life. She didnt ask anyone if they wanted refills of waters even though people just had one glass. She never asked if any of us liked the food either. We will not be coming back, what a huge disappointment!

Great food, cute restaurant, tables are way too close together no privacy, could not even talk to my wife. Service was absolutely horrible, I had to waive my waitress down to get drinks, she says the kitchen staff forgot to make our food. When I know she forgot to tell them our order. We initially got to the restaurant and almost waited 20 minutes before anybody came to our table. Unfortunately, if you have the blonde lady with glasses, I wish you all the luck. Once our food came to the table, she sprinkled Parmesan onto the table, and on the side of the dish, did not wait to say that s great. Thank you just stopped, I said yes to pepper. I was waiting for her to apply the pepper to my plate, and she just stopped and moved on. Hopefully, if you visit this restaurant, you will have a much better experience than me, the food is great. Unfortunately, the wait staff is not.

I am visiting Ottawa and went to this place for supper today. The place was pretty full. I was by myself, and right behind me, there was another couple. I asked for a table for 1. There was an old guy at the desk who told me none was available, so I decided to leave. Then what I saw surprised me!! The couple behind me asked for a table without any reservation, and the guy welcomed them. To my understanding, the guy took the couple in because he would get business for two sacrificing one table instead of one table for one customer. Im really disappointed... Now that I am reading deep into other reviews, I realize people who work/own this place are greedy

Good food owner very nice pay attention to details

Beautiful restaurant with a hole-in-the-wall exterior and fine dining interior. The food was delicious but slightly on the pricy side for pasta. We would recommend this restaurant for those on a date or those with larger party sizes.

My partner and I had a fabulous date night out at Mr Bs two weeks ago. I had not been to their new location and we were pleasantly surprised. Easy free parking, and a nice contemporary atmosphere. The serving staff were wonderful, right from the hostess who offered us a choice of tables, to our server Megan who was professional, friendly and well informed of the menu and specials. Its a family run business and the owner was on site in the background providing that extra level of hospitality. We opted for simple traditional pasta with clams and red wine sauce and seafood pasta, plus a nice bottle of red wine. We finished off with a tiramisu and espressos. A wonderful relaxing evening. The prices are very good and the food is excellent. We will be back for sure. Thank you to the entire Mr. Bs front and back house team for making our date night a wonderful dining out experience.

Mr.Bs was recommended to me by a friend and it was great! Lovely service and food, also way bigger inside then it appears, but it was packed- a reservation is a good idea!

First time at this restaurant! Gentleman that greeted us at the door not very pleasant! Gave us a time that we had to be out for?? Food was good but will not be returning! Not very welcoming! Too bad!! Food

Poor service! We waited over an hour for our food to arrive. I had high expectations for this place and was really disappointed. We even had to get up and chase after them to pay our bill and leave. I could understand if the food was slow because there were so many people but we had a hard time getting them to even fill up our water while we waited. I do have to say that when we finally were able to pay up, our server took off our drink because she thought we waited a bit longer than everyone else. As for food, it was just good. I got the frutti de mare with rose sauce. I liked the amount of seafood and the quality of pasta. The sauce was fine but I wanted to taste the seafood flavour in the sauce, which I couldn t. I liked the bread they served as an appetizer but it would ve been nice if it was warm (the butter they served was cold too and not great to spread). My husband got the penne peppers n garlic tomato and really regretted it because it was nothing special and seemed like something we could make better at home. The restaurant very dark and loud - and being put in the corner and waiting so long made it seem like they forgot about us. I won t be going back and don t recommend if you want to eat within an hour of getting there.

There are so many types of pasta you can try, ranging from rigatoni, linguine, fettucine, lasagna, penne, tortellini, raviolio, and mannicotti fiorentina! Smelts: lightly floured & fried with tomato aioli & fresh lemon ($12): fried nicely, not too much batter, and not oily. Tomato aioli was perfect! Spicy pork belly appetizer ($14): Make sure to check their specials on the chalkboard - this was one of the specials! The pork was really tender, and it wasnt spicy at all (in my opinion). A great start to the meal. My favourite dish out of everything was the Fettucine with fruitti di mare (clams, crab, scallops, mussels, with large & matane shrimp, $24) - the pasta was perfectly cooked, and really soaked up the delicious seafood sauce. The seafood was very fresh - I couldnt stop eating this! Definitely a must-try if you like seafood. If you dont, you could choose the Alfredo version of the Fettucine with Parmesan Cheese and Cream (you can add chicken for $3)! If you like thinner pasta, the Shrimp & Scallops Napolitana ($26) is also fantastic, sautéed in garlic, white wine, and tomato. The size of the shrimps and scallops was massive! A classic comfort food dish is their Chicken Scallopine Marsala, with sweet wine & sautéed mushrooms - this was a nicely balanced dish, with decadent marsala sauce, mushrooms, capers, veggies, and potatoes. The interiors are gorgeous, and really add to the dine-in experience, which I recommend. There is a lot of space with the lofty ceilings, and cream/muted colours. They also have a nice cocktail list - I tried the lychee love ($12), as Im a huge fan of lychee, and found it well-made. It goes especially well with fried dishes!

Absolute hidden gem for Italian food. Fantastic place, highly recommend.

I have been going here for 20 years and before they moved to the new location. I went here with my date and the waitress ( old blonde lady) was very rude and did not seem very happy to serve us. The food was out of tomato cans but we accepted that this is an ottawa restaurant and not some fancy restaurant in New York. We tipped the old blonde lady generously but she said nothing and we had to awkwardly walk out. I just wish they hired people that like their jobs. As for the food I would.make a better kraft dinner at home Jeezus! Mr B and not Mr A. Now I know why !!

Came to Mr. B s for a large group dinner and the food, drinks, ambiance and service were all amazing! Tried a few different pastas (cheese ravioli, chicken Parmesan, penne with sausage) and appetizers (arancini, bruschetta, caprese salad) and they were all very good. Will definitely be back!

Calamari was among the better I ve had (almost buttery crunch). The pasta dishes were excellent. My tortellin was wonderful. I wish I had a taken a shot of my guest dish it was a beautiful ravioli. Service was very good. They also have a lovely wine selection.

We went for dinner Sept 13. The food was decent, our problem was the staff. Our waitress was unpleasant to say the least (older lady). We were seated near the bar, and since it was a slow night the staff would congregate there to chat in between serving. We went out for dinner to have a nice night, instead we were stuck listening to them all complain about their coworkers. One server even said he wanted to slap another one. This went on for the entire time we had our dinner. How unprofessional and ANNOYING. The older man behind the bar who I *think* was the owner was even joining in on this and they were all laughing as if assaulting a coworker is a funny thing. I dont care if they want to talk like this, but maybe dont make your customers listen to it. We wont be coming back.

What a gem! Just arrived in the city, out of downtown by the airport. Had a reference to this cafe. Beautiful light Mediterranean motif. Speedy seating, service. We all had appetizers, pasta mains. Fresh lasagne, rigatoni, linguine luxuriating in red or white sauces. Special linguine tonight with gorgonzola, walnuts and cream was the highlight for two of us. Excellent wine list, but we begged off desserts because we we too full! Its at the back of a strip mall at a busy intersection, but do yourself a treat and try them out! Parking: Free parking in the plaza lot. Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access from parking, lots of room inside.

15 years of coming here. Cant stop wont stop. The menu is solid, fresh and been unchanging (besides specials) forever. When you achieve perfection, no reason to change formula.

Great atmosphere, friendly service and delicious food !!

Service, very good. Value for money, very good. Been a customer for 32 years. French Onion Soup a favourite, but not on the menu any longer. When I asked, server had chef make one for me. Classy. Only con was the noise. Half full when we arrived at 1800, near full when we left 2000, and volume was very loud. Be great if they could find a way to lower very high ceiling, or dampen sound some how.

Upon my friend s recommendation, we ordered a turkey dinner for the thanksgiving for four persons. The food turned out really disappointing. A box of turkey as shown in the picture is what we got for four persons, each 3pieces.. and all of this cost us $171 + tip. What a disappointing experience. The taste is okay but I m really disappointed by the potion and what s included in this $47(include tax and 10% tip) per person turkey dinner. I don t think it worth that much money at all, I strongly recommend not to go here for turkey dinner.

New location, and the kitchen still puts out amazing food. However my wife s birthday dinner was inside, it was so cold my wife and other people at other tables were wearing their winter coats while eating. Just off the visual .. TURN UP THE HEAT

My family and I love this restaurant, we have been going there for many years. Their pasta is amazingly fresh and tasty, and the service is always great whether we dine in or take-out. Our favourite dishes are the creme rosé pasta with grilled chicken, penne and peppers. Chicken parmesan is really good too, my hubby loves their baby shrimp pasta in the creme rosé sauce. Make sure to ask for an order of their fried zucchini sticks too, sooo good! Best Italian food in Ottawa.

Mr Bs accommodated me as usual. Has medallions in peppercorn sauce . Superb cooked to perfection. Waitress was very helpful. Its hard to choose a dish as they are all good.

Wow! I absolutely loved our experience at Mr. B s. We made reservations for dinner and from start to finish the staff were absolutely fantastic. The food was delicious, hot, and well presented. I had the butternut squash ravioli and my husband had the lasagna, such perfect portions. We left feeling very happy. The decor was also beautiful! You walk in and immediate feel fancy. 10/10 would recommend. We will be back soon!!

Good food but I will never go back. Not after being seated next to the front door on Saturday evening. Being bumped and chilled by incoming clients made for a miserable evening. Despite having booked a week in advance for a party of six. Plus my order was screwed up. This is how you treat clients. Never again for us.
