Ive eaten here more times than I can count. Their market hour prices are probably the best value for money (high quality, good quantity, great price) for beer, wine and pizza youll find anywhere is Ottawa. Very willing to accommodate large groups, even at relatively short notice. Great atmosphere summer or winter, indoors or out.

We had a great meal at The Grand Pizzeria in Ottawa. The Rossota Burrata was fresh, the Sofia Pizza was perfectly cooked, and the Truffle Chocolate Cake was rich and tasty. Our server, Thiago, was very friendly and took great care of us. Good food and great service worth a visit!

The food was amazing we got a pizza and a salad, but the service was absolutely terrible. We didnt see our server again after we ordered and waited for almost 20 minutes to find the server to get the bill, after asking someone else if we could get the bill. We saw lots of other servers but not ours. She didnt come by to ask how the food was or check in again after taking our order it was different staff who brought the food out and cleared the table.

Service was friendly and good but the food is overpriced for the quality and flavour. My partner and I ordered pizzas and they were very toasty (very over cooked). The flavour was nothing extraordinary. I think what you pay is the location because is in the middle of the Byward Market. Washrooms were very dirty, felt like they haven t cleaned them in days. Automatic negative review for hiring LMIA. Theres a database we can all access and these guys are trying to say they couldnt find a Canadian baker, they had to bring one in from India. So many employers are bring exposed as traitors. Paying foreign slaves a subsidized wage and Canadian tax payers are footing the bill so the owner of this establishment can increase their profits.

It used to be good but lately it has been deteriorating at both food and service quality levels, yet with same prices and higher for some items. We were there last week, they changed the bread of the chicken sandwich to a tasteless pizza dough. They removed the burrata salad from the menu and made the burrata cheese as an extra for 12$. We went back today thinking we won t let one tasteless sandwich affect our opinion about a place we used to like. We ordered a pizza and a chicken parmigiana, waited for almost 1 hour watching other tables being served. It is only when we asked how come we were not served yet that the waitress checked and came back to tell us with unapologetic tone that there was a mistake asking us if we would like to wait more. So unpleasant and unprofessional. We decided of course to leave and didn t want to make a scene about it out of respect for other clients. UPDATE: The manager took the time to answer this review which is a good sign that they still care. Thank you for that. Even though the answer qualifies it of exaggerated stating that we were there for 25mn while it was precisely 47mn from the moment we stepped in till we left (I know that because I received a message while waiting to be seated, to which I answered while leaving), and there was no promo food offered other than literally saying I can try to get you the food asap which we chose not to trust considering the unapologetic tone and that we were informed of the error only after we asked. Nevertheless, respect for reading and answering, it shows the care for future clients. Which serves the purpose of the reviews.

Located in a very ideal spot in the Byward market, service and food at the Grand truly delivered! We had the pleasure of being served by Thiago who was amazing and so efficient considering our large group! My Margarita pizza was great. Id recommend!

OK, but not great. The service was fine, quick, and with a smile. We were two adults and 2 children - $14.99 for a childs pizza that had about 3/4 oz of cheese and 4 pieces of mini pepperoni. $14.99 for a childs spaghetti and meatballs (3 meatballs), which was not very big for an 8 year old girl. Our pizza for the adults was fine. We sat near the kitchen door and bathroom, although there were many other booths available. When I asked if we could move to another table or booth, a waitstaff said unfortunately the other booths were for larger groups, and since we were just 4, it wasnt possible. Noise, stacks of dirty dishes and smells of cleaning products from the bathroom turned us off.

Cute place at Byward Market. Really appreciated that they had halal options. Had the chicken parm and it was amazing. Big portions too, you get your moneys worth. Also I bought a jar of their hot sauce and I am putting it on everything!! This stuff is amazing and I would come back just to buy more of that! Very nice discovery the dishes are very good and make you want to come back the setting is pleasant after a small downside it was noisy during our visit the staff seemed tired and therefore less friendly. Honestly, if you are in the area and want to eat Italian food, go there. It is better to book to be sure of having a place. Always great eating here with super friendly staff and a warm atmosphere. Food is also incredible of course. Highly recommend their pasta or pizza as both are good and never disappointing. Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly with crayons and colouring page, plus they will find a spot for your stroller.

We had a more than pleasant time! The service was very attentive to us, they provided us with a waitress who spoke French perfectly. What can we say about their porcini mushroom pasta... they were divine, the plate was really very generous! The tiramisu is also excellent. Everything was perfect. The service was also very fast. This is THE best restaurant I had during my road trip in Canada!

Overall, I liked the food, the service was good, and the atmosphere was good. I found the prices to be average for a sit down pizza place. Id recommend this to anyone visiting the area in the mood for pizza. Food The Calvini pizza had good flavor and the crust was done perfectly. I also ordered a side caesar salad and that was quite good as well. The salad wasnt drenched in dressing and the lettuce had a good crunch to it. Atmosphere The atmosphere was good. I went in the evening so the lighting was low but there were enough ambient non-white light around to keep it from being dark. The non-white florescent light makes the place seem ideal for a dinner date. Service The service was good. Nothing notable to say. Value Overall, the food and drink were fairly priced except the caesar salad. The pizza definitely felt worth the price but the side salad, though it was good, had a hard time feeling worth it being half the price of the pizza. Vegetarian options: There were several pizza options that were vegetarian. Dietary restrictions: The menu said they offered gluten free crust which was nice.

Visited the restaurant on a Saturday afternoon, server with mustache took our order, other staff delivered the food, feel customer service is very inconsistent, server was an order taker instead of experience maker, never came back to check on us, we didn t have napkins, we needed refills on our drinks, feel owner needs to encourage staff to have a continuous customer service to the guest, I feel I should not even tip the guy but their machines are set up to start at 18% not worth it if I had the option I will tip this guy 10% at the end the only thing he did was took order and cash out the table.

So, The Grand Pizzeria and Bar where the atmosphere is as grand as the name suggests, but unfortunately, the food seems to have missed the memo. Tried the pizza, which must have had an identity crisis because it showed up burnt and soggy, like it couldn t decide between a sauna and a tanning bed. Honestly, I ve had better frozen pizzas that didn t require CPR. It s not the worst place out there, but let s just say it won t be my first (or second) pick for pizza night. 6/10 because hey, it can always get worse, right?

We visited this restaurant several times cause the pizza was good and customer service as well. However, today we ordered a pizza and the server did not serve the chili sauce, cheese, and plates and did not even ask. I had to request and got them. The big issue was that my friend spit the piece of glass out when drinking her beer. We let the server know, and he said he will let the bartender know. Then, i asked a bill. However, they still charged all items. Although, it is not mandatory to give us discount or any offer, you should pay more attention to this issue and better customer service.

Well yesterday we went for celebrating my friends birthday at the grand and the experience was disappointing. I called in before to ask if it was allowed to cut the cake inside and I was told we would be charged $1 per person (which makes $4 for four of us) and I said sure. We waited gor the server for 30 mins and when we called one of there server telling that we had been waiting for more than 15 mins, he sassily replied, I bet its not been more than 15 mins but sure . Then he messed up our order with bruschetta and instead brought chicken wings which in the beginning he tried to blame on us. Later, I was told that charging for the cake did not even include putting it on a tray or a place it was just for the permission to cut the cake. Eventually, he comes back to inform me that we ll have to pay $10 for just cutting the cake if we want to. We then decided to not cut the cake there and continue the celebration somewhere else as the tone was always derogatory. It is highly unacceptable we had paid almost $ 200 for our dinner.

Tonight s service was simply amazing thanks to Ivo, have never been more taken care of there than with him, though he had a full section never once were we waiting more than 10 minutes for a check in. Always had a big smile which was a nice change compared to usual service there. Big shoutout to Ivo for the best service from the Grand. Definitely requesting him again when we go in. Shout out to the excellent kitchen for quick and fantastic food as always!

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. We visited during our vacation, and the experience was disappointing from the start. It took 10 minutes just to be seated, even though I tried to get the attention of multiple staff members. After finally sitting down, we waited another 10 minutes before anyone came to take our order. When the food arrived 15 minutes later, it was utterly flavorless. We ordered pizza and bruschetta, both of which were far below average. No one checked in on us during the meal, and the waitress cleared our plates without even asking if we were finished. I asked for the check which the waitress said she would bring but forgot about! I had to ask them a multiple times before a rude staff member brought us the check. I m shocked this establishment is still in business with such poor service!

This is a great spot to grab a pizza and some drinks, they have a happy hour from 3 to 6 from Monday to Friday, half price in some pizzas and 5 dollars glass of draft beers. Just heads up with the Panhandlers, they get by the entrance in the shade and start smoking. Not cool and nobody will tell them anything, where is bylaws and the cops, tourists should not need to be harass by these people.

Excellent and fast service, friendly staff on the terasse 21st sept for lunch time. The pizza was good and salad fresh with a nice dressing good for a quick bite.

The offer until 6 p.m. is really great and cheap. The pizza is ok, I found the dough a bit too tough.

Walked in at 6:00pm. Sat down at a nice booth. Noticed a special advertised on the table for half price pizzas between 3-6. It was 6:02. The hostess said we were eligible and she would tell our server. The server came over to say that we were not eligible. At that point it was 6:04. He said they cracked down last week and he couldn t let us have the deal. I pointed out that it was 6:00 when we arrived but the answer was no. I wanted to leave but we were cold and wet and hungry so we stayed. The server was apologetic and kind. The food was fine. We didn t go there for the special but being told we weren t eligible wheb we were seated at 6:02 was irritating.

We had a great experience eating here on Canada Day weekend. We were a party of 9 and the food was delicious! Even though the place was full, we were served very quickly. The best part was the outstanding service by Anabelle! She was super nice and made sure that my daughter had her special request. We will surely come back when we are in Ottawa!

I ordered a Ceasar salad with chicken. There was hardly any Ceasar dressing on it. I had to ask for dressing to add to my own $25.00 salad then there was very little bacon. My lettuce was soggy as though it had been sitting somewhere for 1/2 hr. Very unimpressed for an Italian restaurant! I can make a better Ceasar!! The waiter picked up my plate of lettuce. Never asked me anything.

The pizzas are not very garnished. We were hungry straight away! The surprise was that they added the 18% tip included in the bill so we had no choice in choosing the percentage! They said that since we were a large group (we were 2 families of 5) it was included! SCAM. We paid separately and each bill was around $100, so for each family 18% of Tips. The waitress ended up with over $35 in tip!

We went to this restaurant to have dinner during the national holiday. There were a lot of people, we waited 10 minutes to get a table because the restaurant was full. I visited this place after two years because I remembered how tasty the food was. Last time, we tried a variety of pastas and pizzas and loved them all. This time, we went for the MAFALDE ALLA GRAND and RIGATONI AL POLLO, and both were excellent. The staff were professional and took great care of us. The service was quick and timely. I really enjoyed my experience and will definitely be back. The washrooms could be cleaner, but I get it, the restaurant is in a busy area and lots of random people might use them. The patio is nice on a sunny day. Even though it s a busy spot, the wait wasn t too long. Parking: You can either park on the street or park in the underground parking of the shopping centre.

We were visiting Ottawa and this was our first time visiting here. Our server started out great and very attentive. As soon as we got our food he seemed to disappear. We needed water and drinks but when he did appear he seemed to just walk past our table and ignore us. We were in Ottawa again for work and decided to try again since the pizza was delicious. The service was worse the second time. Our server did not check on us once our food was received, did not offer more drinks, and did not stop at our table the multitude of times she walked past. We had to flag her down just for the bill.

Much too expensive for what it is. 2 bruschettas and 3 pizzas $155 The pizza toppings are minimal and bland. To avoid!!

Excellent quality of food, very good flavor. The service was excellent. We were a group of 14 people and they treated us quickly and very kindly.

My GF and I absolutely love this place. We go almost everytime Im in Ottawa. The pizzas are great and, when the restaurant is not too busy, they come so fast. We ordered a second pizza after sharing one, it arrived within 4 MINUTES! Great. The staff have always been super nice, and their drinks list is quite nice too.

Can get busy, but solid pizza and wine!

I must start by saying that since the opening of this restaurant Ive eaten here several times, spending hundreds of dollars here. I am very sorry to have to leave a bad review about this restaurant since its not what I usually like to do. I prefer to leave reviews about an outstanding experience but this time I cant. Today the customer service was awful and unwelcoming. I wish I could comment about their food but we turned around within the first minute after being rudely spoken to by one of their employees.

We got a Tuscan chicken pizza to go. The toppings are fresh and the sauce is pretty good. It would be better if the sauce/toppings covered a little more of the pizza so the crust isnt as thick. We shared one pizza between two people, it was a good snack.
