Some of the best service I have had in a long time!. Town is such a delight, great vibes, excellent wine selection and killer cocktails. I will definitely be returning.

A stand out meal with truly delicious food and friendly and passionate service. Based on our meal a restaurant to firmly put in your list if you are in Ottawa. Over 4 dishes - flavour, texture and a real connection from the Chefs at Town to the in-season ingredients they are using to delicious and beautiful food. The new Clam Tostada - delicious balance and super fresh flavour, the rustic Barrata dish - allowing simple fresh ingredients to shine - to a Ravioli dish that walked the delectable line of acidity (the right kind) and creamy savoury pasta - peas and snow peas; to the one of the few permanent menu fixtures; Meatballs - one of the Best MeatBall dishes weve ever had - melt in your mouth full of flavour but still with texture and a flavourful rice sized noodle.

Probably most underrated restaurant in Ottawa. Been going for years and never had a bad meal. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. The menu is updated every couple of months.

Amazing atmosphere, food, wines, and above all service!

I genuinely really love the atmosphere and service, but I found the quantity of food for the price truly not worth it. The food that I did get tasted amazing, but not worth the nearly $40 bill for 4 or 5 pieces of asperigus and a single raviolo.

Had a beautiful dinner with my partner here. Everything we chose was delicious, the martini i had was made to perfection. Honestly the only thing I have to complain about but it really wasnt that bad, was how close the tables are to eachother. On a date night it makes for a little bit more of an awkward moment but theres a lot of quaint spots in europe and it also kind of took us back to our travelling days. Overall a 5 star experience

I can t remember the last time I had such a perfect bite than the one I took at Town. Everything was absolutely delicious - chicken nduja meatballs (special request to bring them back), leek vinaigrette with the nordic shrimps and the tuna crudo (my personal favorite) were only the start to this flavourful evening. The place itself is beautiful and they have a lovely selection of nonalcoholic breverages - and an equally great selection of wines. Service was thoughtful and made us feel at home.

Excellent wine and food. Friendly and helpful server. A little snug isle between the high tables and the other tables as people pass through. Otherwise a good dining experience. We would go back.

Went back to Town for the first time since 2018. Food and drink is still good but I do dislike that they merged the menu with Citizen. They used to be distinct and have different reasons to dine at, now it s basically the same restaurant that takes the best from both and removes a lot of other options. Service was quick but it did feel a bit like they were trying to rush us out to turn around the table. Prices were fair.

Incredibly attentive! I have an allergy listed on my resy account. Before I even arrived they had gone through the menu and marked what I could and couldnt have, and any substitutions they would be able to do. Ive never felt more at ease dinning with an allergy. The food was delicious and the service was excellent.

Went with my family to celebrate my daughter s birthday and everything was amazing! The focaccia, Brussel sprouts, mushrooms, endive salad, the meatballs, the anglotti, the trout, the cheesecake, the ice cream brownie, the beer, the sours it was truly a taste extravaganza! Fabulous night!

The meatballs were delicious. The salad was tasty and unique for me. Honestly it feels like the type of menu where you pick the thing that looks good and it probably is. Its not cheap but the food isnt pub fare either so, fair. Service was great as well, no issues there. They have a lot of beers and they are not all accurately categorized (watch out for those sour beers that are labeled as IPAs), but no big deal. I think the seating is a little tight. Its got a Toronto restaurant sort of vibe to me because the floor plan is longer than it is wide. Anyways, give it a try

13/10!!! Before we even ate a bite of food we were so impressed with the ambiance. The playlist was on point (volume level was perfect!), staff was super approachable, and friendly. A beverage menu that has something for everybody. The wine and beer list was exceptional!!! When our plates arrived we were blown away! Hands down the best tartare out there, incredible hand made pasta, and all around well thought out plates with a ton of flavour! I wish we could have eaten the entire menu! Can t wait for our next visit :)

Went in Oct 2022. People recommended the meatballs, they were just okay. The octopus was nice, but I thought it would be grilled. So my bad for missed expectations. The dessert was definitely great. Server was super nice! Their bathroom is clean!

Worst dine in experience ever. We went here to celebrate a special occasion but felt like we were treated as an afterthought customer. I totally understand if the kitchen is busy, but I got ticked off when a group that came after us finished eating and was getting the bill. We d been waiting for more than an hour at that point. It s not the busyness/delay, it s the fairness that got me mad. So seeing the group that came after us leaving, I checked on our order and they said they are now starting to make it. I felt like the manager was even being defensive, explaining to us that because we don t see behind the scenes, we don t understand. So our food came almost at the closing time when most of the tables were empty (we d been waiting about two hours at that point). The place was packed when we first sat down - either they forgot our orders or we were being treated unfairly/poorly. I will never come here again.

First of all, if you want to have a nice celebration /anniversary dinner, I do not recommend this place. It is very casual and loud. Tables are too close to each other. I cant tell you how many times servers and other customers bumped my back. Also, the service can be very slow, especially if there is a big group before you, which was the case last night. I found it very mediocre and overpriced in terms of food and drinks. Bouillabaisse was so disappointing since the scallops and shrimps were so small, and the flavor was off. The only impressive food was eggplant and ricotta stuffed agnolotti for me. It was flavourful and delicious.

Went to Town for a birthday dinner. Very impressive. The waiter was very punctual and provided some excellent recommendations with regards to drinks and portions. The food itself was excellent. I would recommend the brussels sprouts and the eggplant agnolotti. Prices were very reasonable.

Lovely casual fine dining. The food was great, good variety, great vegetarian options! Excellent service... And they supported Bruce House during a Taste for Life!

solid service, tasty food, super beer list (mainly cans I think but it is huuuge), ciders too, and a mix of small and bigger plates to suit whatever youre going for. tall window was open and we were able to sit right next to it (and enjoy the dogs coming by and visiting a little water dish outside on the sidewalk!)

I cant praise this place enough! Even before we tasted the food, we were impressed by the ambiance. The playlist was perfectly curated, with the volume at just the right level. The staff was approachable and friendly, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The beverage menu caters to everyones preferences, and the wine and beer selection is exceptional! When our plates arrived, we were blown away by the presentation and taste. The tartare was hands down the best weve ever had, the hand-made pasta was incredible, and every dish was thoughtfully crafted with amazing flavors. We wished we could have tried the entire menu! Were eagerly looking forward to our next visit.

Fabulous Food and Service

Nice restaurant with a great vibe. The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly. The drinks menu is extensive, and the food menu had a great selection. I had a handmade ravioli-like dish. It was the best pasta I have had in my life. I still talk about it.

Excellent restaurant. Deserves more attention among the Ottawa restaurant scene. We had first tried the food here as part of a takeout service during COVID-19 lockdowns in 2020 and the food was great. This time we were in the restaurant. Our server, Emily, was excellent - friendly, knowledgeable and checked-in throughout our meal the right amount of times. We ordered 5 dishes + dessert. Honestly, each was amazing. We ordered the olives, smoked white fish dip, tuna tataki, soft-shell crab po-boy and the handmade agnolotti. For dessert we ate the Basque cheesecake and the Creme-Caramel with cherries - both delicious. Highly recommend this place - it was a wonderful experience. Thanks again to Emily and her team.

My first time here. My goodness, an excellent menu, very well prepared. Its nouveau Italian. My friends had tagliatelli, and angiolini and reported that they were both delicious. A very good wine list as well. Highly recommended. Wheelchair accessibility: Ground level and no stairs.

Phenomenal food. We were blown away by how good it all tasted. Really well priced for the quality. Of course Im comparing to Toronto prices so I could be off. Will be back next time Im in Ottawa!

Per usual, the cuisine here is flawless. Undoubtedly one of Ottawas best restaurants. Consistently delivering exceptional service. A preferred spot of mine to revisit! I appreciate the wall art. Though I find myself more drawn to the atmosphere and vibe on the citizen side. Both still incredibly enjoyable!

Food was absolutely fantastic. I didn t know what to expect when ordering the tomato salad, but it was unbelievably rich, creamy and fresh and we practically licked the plate clean. The meatballs, which we were told have been on the menu for a very long time, were mouth watering and just perfection. There s also an amazing selection of beers.

Everything we ordered was absolutely amazing and the service was excellent. We had a great evening.

Really enjoyed our food here on our first visit. A variety of interesting dishes that made it much more appealing than a classic Italian restaurant. Great food and atmosphere in downtown Ottawa. The tomato salad was fresh and delicious, and the main courses had variety and lots of flavour. Josh at the bar was incredible all night with drink and food suggestions and great conversation. Will definitely return based on his service alone.

Cozy vibe, dimly lit, great for date night. Tuna tartare was very good, although too pricey imo. The katzu sandwich was totally different which I liked and tasty but also filling. Service was top notch, I would recommend this restaurant

Amazing place and food

This restaurant was a really nice dining experience. The food was fantastic, well plated and full of flavor. Service was on point and our server was enthusiastic to help recommend us drinks and appetizers. The ambience was great for the evening however it may have been a bit too dim for some individuals (needing to use a flashlight on their phones to read the menu). Overall, great food, great service, and great atmosphere. Will be coming back in the future, definitely.

Amazing experience all around. The food is filling without being heavy and is absolutely delicious. I had the pleasure of trying various vegetarian items on the menu and they were all exceptionally good, especially while paired with red wine which was bold and flavourful. The music was quiet enough so to not disrupt guests conversations while providing the perfect ambiance. (I especially loved that the music playing was songs from the 70 s/80 s/90 s). This place is cozy and welcoming, highly recommend checking it out!

Probably the best food Ive had in Ottawa. The menu seems to change frequently, but I got the agnolotti, which was rich and complexly flavoured. 100% recommended. Portions were maybe slightly small, but the pricing was definitely worth it. It was great food.

Had an excellent lunch with my partner and we enjoyed ourselves to delicious food and drinks. The service without a doubt is excellent with staff being very customer-friendly. Definitely, we will vist this spot again.

I cannot rave about this restaurant enough. Not only is the food itself some of the best Ive had anywhere in all my world travels and rivals the food in Italy itself (trust me, I dont say that lightly), but the service and welcoming atmosphere have kept me coming back time and time again. My first visit with my mom was right when I was first moving to Ottawa alone for school. With no family or friends here, I was nervous but this restaurant made me feel so at home I came back two weeks later and again later that summer. Life happened, and I didnt get to return until last month. Well let me tell you, the food was better than I remembered and the service and atmosphere remained unmatched in Ottawa. Even though they had a big event that night in their sister restaurant which shares the kitchen, the food was absolutely phenomenal! I wish I could eat here every night. Worth every penny, even if it was my last one. Thank you, town team!

Kid-friendliness: Kids pasta with the option of meatball. Wheelchair accessibility: Tables are wheelchair accessible. No stairs at all.

Wonderful takeout meal. Towns take on dim sum was a tasty surprise shift from their regular menu. Highly recommended!

Town is a forever favourite. They offer amazing food without any of the pretense - amazing friendly service, great vibes, and you ll always bump into someone you know there! There s a reason Town & Citizen are so beloved by locals & visitors alike.

Good selection of products.

Always delicious and great service! Love the Italian sodas they offer for non-drinkers, with homemade syrups! All the food dishes are unique and delicious. Donuts for takeaway during the pandemic were epic, and I can t wait to return for brunch at Citizen once the bring it back!

SQUIDLICIOUS!!! i had the octopus plate and I can t remember having a better flavorful meal. Every bite was better than the last. I made myself slow down to truly enjoy my plate. It was a good portion and was cooked to perfection. This was my first time there, we went with 2 other couples and everyone loved the food. We had great service and would highly recommend it if you are a real foodie. Well done Town!

A bit overrated. And overall, an unremarkable place considering the high expectations I had based on the reviews. The service was good. However - The tartare is confused. It is served with some sort of dipping sauce, and basic crackers, in addition with an excessive amount of garnish. If you want to make tartare, let the meat and marinade shine. The meatballs were decent. But you get two meatballs, and effectively pay $15 for each. It was perhaps the best dish we had, and yet was quite average. The focaccia bread was well baked, but lacked seasoning. The pasta platter was salty and spicy, to the point that the spices overtook every other ingredient on the plate. Underwhelming. Our waiter was excellent, and the service was otherwise good. However, the menu needs to be revisited.

One of the few restaurants open late on Elgin and we absolutely loved it. Service was exceptional and the food was far beyond our expectations -- we had the tuna, salmon gazpacho and the 1/2 chicken. We will definitely be back next time were in Ottawa.

we had such a wonderful time here. The service was efficient, detail oriented + very kind. We finished the night and bought a bottle to-go. The food was so tasty, and you can tell how much effort goes into preparing it. (Stuffed salmon in house pasta, octopus)

Amazing food. We all loved our respective dishes - green goddess hummus and falafel, octopus and squid, and the always delicious meatballs - and our server, Delaney, was hospitable and very knowledgeable. Like others my qualms are some of the prices for drinks - 8 to 12 dollars for a small can is astronomical - but also desert, which was 14 dollars for 3 bites of (granted delicious) cake. I know its finer dining and I find the mains are reasonable for what you get but the prices for these other items are a little difficult to swallow. Oh and a small bit of advice: if you decide to buy some bottles to take home, make sure you ask for a seperate bill, if not you are tipping on that purchase. Still a great experience overall.

My wife and I were lucky enough to stumble upon this excellent dining experience. Service was great and the spicy bucatini was to die for!! When we come back I ll probably order one to take home with me. Tried orange wine for the first time and really enjoyed it!! Thank you guys so much.

I could eat one of every menu item!! Every dish is so well thought out and each ingredient plays a role in making the dish stand out. The fried eggplant, agnolotti and spicy bucatini were our favourites. They work so hard here and they deserve the appreciation and praise!!

Wow wow wow! Each dish was a pure delight and we wanted to try everything because it was so good! Its been a long time since we ate this well in a restaurant. The octopus and squid dish is the best Ive ever eaten! Theres passion in there! Good job!!! to the whole team! I only found that the Cocktail was a little expensive but other than that Bravo!

First time at the restaurant but I had heard fantastic things. I ordered a beef tartare and it was hands down one of the best I ve ever had. I keep dreaming of it lol. The only thing I would recommend is replacing the soda crackers it comes with for a baguette bread or something similar but I can t wait to go back and try other options. The cocktail I tried was also good but I expected more complexity for the cost ($18).

Arrive at late night without reservations. Still managed to get a table. Food was really nice. The beef tartare is spot on. Nicely seasoned and full of flavour. For the eggplant, surprisingly good with a Asia flavour. Overall good portion and value for money!

Service: Excellent - very attentive, courteous, and insightful in regards to what we may like at the restaurant. Ambience: Great dim, mood lighting Food: Excellent. Left feeling quite satisfied, but not necessarily full. We shared a number of items amongst our group: - Focaccia: very good, and is served with great whipped brown butter - Meatballs: very good, but also a small portion for what you pay for - Beef tartare tartine: excellent, esp. the fact that it s served on a toasted brioche - Pork chop milanese: Explained to us as essentially the Italian version of a Schnitzel. It s thin but quite large, and also tasted amazing. Drinks: The cocktails are obviously great but are on the higher end ($19). All in all, certainly glad I went because the food and service were excellent, but I d say it is, of course, on the pricier side.

Amazing takeout with lots of options for everyone in a group

Got the takeout dinner for two from Town - everything was superb. So many Ottawa restaurants have been doing a great job with takeout dinners during the pandemic, and I have to say that this one was among the best Ive had over the past year. Will definitely be back. Thanks Town crew.

Amazing dinner

Takeout dinner for 2 last Saturday was delicious. The finishing touches were made to the main dish when I arrived to pick up the food, so it was still lovely and hot by the time we arrived home. Generous servings. Would definitely takeout again

Great service! The only things that made this a 4 instead of a 5 were the cocktails, and potato chips on the tower. They were greasy, and while the brand is listed on the menu, they were presented as home made chips.

Went here for our 2nd wedding anniversary. A very delicious widespread of food! We were not disappointed. Amazing customer service, cute drinks, and yummy food. What more could we ask for?! One of our favourites was their unique dinner for two, fried chicken pizza! Very filling, and not greasy! We will definitely be back!

Good food and friendly service. I like menu, yet found that it was a bit limited. Nonetheless, the food is great. The music in the background gives off a contemporary-hip vibe. I had an app and shared a few mains. The app was tasty. The main was good, but there was something that didnt fit with the pairing, but was rather placed on the plate to make it look fuller. The quality of the some of the cheeses are questionable... Overall, the food is good, and I am happy I came here to have dinner.

One of the best dining experiences in Ottawa so far. Very comfortable, relaxing atmosphere with great efficient service. Generous portions of well executed earthy dishes, I loved the calamari and the Town meatballs (a must try!!). The flourless chocolate cake was one of the best dessert I had in my life, chapeau!

This restaurant was on my list for a while, finally got the chance to go. I had the lamb shank and wife had the gnocchi. Overall impression was underwhelming. The food lacked any distinct flavouring and was on the bland side. Also, the portions were not very generous, especially considering the price point. I did leave hungry, but was mainly due to me not finishing the dish as the risotto texture was not to my liking. I probably will not go back and am not likely to recommend. Unfortunately our waiter wasnt too interested in our satisfaction either which is why I bumped them down to 2 stars; otherwise would have been a three. It was also overly hyped, even though a few people warned us of the bland falvours. Overall takeaway is that there are much better restaurants to visit in the area and in the city. The atmosphere was cozy though, a bit cramped, but the decor is well done.

Had the delivery due to restrictions on gatherings - food was incredible, the Green Goddess dressing is creamy and rich and the lettuce was fresh The duck with miso pasta was delicious - really well paired and the garnish was perfect Cannot wait to visit once things reopen! Highly recommend ordering in for a special night!

First off, it took about 20 minutes for someone to take our drink order, and there were maybe 10 or 15 people in the whole restaurant. We ordered the dinner for two and foccacia bread. It took about 30 minutes for that to arrive. When it did, we were thoroughly disappointed that we just paid so much for such bad-tasting food. Sure, its different, but that doesnt mean its good. The foccacia bread just tasted like toasted bread with garlic powder on it, and the dinner for two was basically finger sandwiches, a small bowl of almonds and some deli meat. For $50+. I couldve eaten literally anywhere else and gotten much tastier food and bigger portions with faster service.

The best fine dining experience I have had in my life! The food is exceptional. If they are offering a stuffed pasta choice when you attend, chose it! I have been there twice, and I would drive from Montreal to dine at this place again. Treat yourself out.

Had a fantastic meal here with a friend from out of town. I had a lamb ragout pasta that was incredible! Good wines, helpful staff, and great appetizers (but I forgot what we had now). Great food!

Phenomenal. I just couldn t get enough of the Brussel sprouts and the squash agnolotti. Service was so helpful and respectful. Thanks for an amazing dinner! Sorry I got so caught up wolfing down all the yumminess I forgot to take pics!

How many ways do I love Town/Citizen ?!?!? Let me count the ways ... best cocktails, wine by the glass, and ALL the food. I could order everything off the menu. One of my first COVID takeout choices and my last patio visit for this weird season. I dont even have photos to share because we fobbled everything up before i had a chance to snap pics. Probably the best place ive ever ate at. Ive been recomending it to all my friends (and they dont live in ottawa). It uped my standards in my quest for amazing foods. Honestly, a must try, and the menu has good variety.
