Friendly staff, food quality is ok. However, it is expensive for take-out sushi.

I happened to stop by on my way to Quebec and it was really delicious!! I had the roll combo and the salmon combo, and both were very delicious. I guess they made the soy sauce themselves, but it wasnt salty and it was so delicious!! Ill stop by again if I come back to Ottawa^^

I was in town for work and needed a quick and healthy dinner. I looked around my hotel and picked this place based the reviews that said it was a small family-run shop who took care in their food. I heartily agree with all the positive reviews!! I ordered the Sashimi Bi Bim Bab rice bowl and a BC Roll. Both were delicious and the ingredients were so fresh that I didnt even use the sauce for the rice bowl. Prices were very reasonable, especially given the quality. Highly recommend!! Will definitely return!

Very good hawai poke bowl

Great place to grab a quick lunch! I got the sashimi poke bowl and it was super delicious. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I was given a free miso soup today, I had no idea until I walked back to work. That was so sweet, thank you! :)

Be sure to go here early if you want good sushi. Otherwise, youre left with bad choices and its expensive. They also serve Korean cuisine.

This review is long overdue, as someone who eats here atleast once a week it truly is amazing sushi. It tastes so fresh and delicious and the ingredients are always fresh and hearty. Great sushi spot and definitely a must try for people working downtown who want a to-go-box that tastes better than dine in.

Located in downtown, this cozy sushi and roll shop is a great spot for lunch. The Korean owner and staff are exceptionally friendly.

Ive only ordered takeout. The food is delicious. For those who like only mild spice, I highly recommend the Korean Spicy Sauce. I took a chance (I only like mild spice) and ordered it on the beef bibimbap, and it was PERFECT! Im definitely going to pop by and dine in soon!

Great place, I usually have take outs during the week. It s always fresh and delicious. Prices are reasonable as well.

I really like their hawaiian poke bowls and their sushi is also good. Everything is made fresh with quality ingredients. Prices are reasonable for what you get. I only gave 4 stars because their lunch lineups are hectic. I waited outside for my order and was kind of forgotten. Before the pandemic it was alright to wait in their small shop but now, I wish they have a numbering system to make sure everyone gets the right order.

Excellent little eaterie in the heart of Ottawa. It was priced responsibly and the food was superb. I recommend trying this place out. The ramen and the Bi bim bomp were incredible.

This is one of the best sushi spots in Ottawa. Ive tried over 10 other places and nothing comes close to the quality here. Fresh and family run, the best of the best and great lunch specials!

Update 2022.07.25 To this day I cannot understand why the soy sauce is always diluted and flavourless unless it s to save $. It tastes like the low sodium version + 50% water. You have to add a lot of wasabi to it for it to have any flavour. For bibimbap would be great if hot stone bowls could be used to achieve the heat and crunch. Egg yolk was also completely cooked. Would be good to have runny egg yolk. For sashimi bibimbap, the portion of sashimi is fair given the $3 difference and represent perhaps only 30% markup from the market price for équivalent sashimi grade tuna and salmon. However, might be worth cutting them into cubes to achieve a better texture, although this may not achieve the best ratios in terms of sashimi to everything else when eating. The masago gives it all a great texture.

Very rude staff. The Guy yield at our 5 years old son who started crying. When we said that this was not acceptable, he told us to get out and wanted to beat us! Besides, rolls were terrible and not well rolled! DONT GO THERE! VERY BAD PEOPLE!!!!

We were on a little stay-cation in Ottawa staying right downtown. Restaurant selection surprisingly poor for a downtown. Covid and work from home arrangements have hurt the daytime scene badly. Wanted sushi and found this little place. Limited outdoor seating but steady take-out clientele. Good price and very good sushi.

I arrived to Ottawa on Monday at 11:00 am, shortly after I checked in at the hotel I was out and about looking for lunch. Out of an impulse I was attracted to Rice & Roll due to its uncanny similarity to Naritas Japanese small restaurants that line the sidewalkless streets, another Japanese oddity, the only thing that this tiny tasty Japanese eatery lacked was the sampuru found on the afore mentioned restaurants. The rest was, presentation and taste wise really good, I found rolls that are not traditionally found on westernized sushi bars and then some, the miso soup, sashimi, kushiage, nigiri and maki are extremely good, fish is fresh and truly sushi grade, an awesome little gem ran by a husband and wife team. A well worth visit when you find yourself strolling downtown Ottawa at lunch time.

Ordered their Sweet Chili Shrimp Poke Bowl via SkipTheDishes and it was by far the worst Poke Bowl Ive had, it didnt even have the ingredients that they listed (no crab meat and they added red bell peppers and a dark colored fruit/berry). It was just a very weird mix of textures and flavors. It was also one of the more expensive Poke Bowls that Ive had at $17.99. So I expected a big portion size or more of the proteins. Instead they actually missed some of the proteins. Ill chalk this up to a new/poor employee and maybe not an overall reflection of the restaurant, however if you choose to go with them, I suggest tempering your expectations.

Amazing downtown sushi spot.

The take out was delicious. Tempura shrimp was crispy and hot, and the sushi rolls were clearly made with care. The rice was perfect.

Was skeptical of getting sushi on skip the dishes but everything was fantastic. Rolls were fresh and serving sizes were above average. Will definitely order again :)

A small family run sushi shop that has the best soup I have ever tasted! If my hotel was on the other side of the city I would still come here. It is just down the street from the Marriott Ottawa and you can be there in two minutes walking. The sushi is great too...but the soup is fantastic!!!!!

I have ordered delivery from this restaurant many times and have always been very satisfied with the quality, freshness and presentation. Today, there was a technical problem with the online ordering service -- my order was on hold and not being confirmed -- so I called the restaurant directly. The gentleman who answered was particularly kind, making me even happier that I am a regular customer!

Ordered from here on a whim from Skip a couple of months back and have been regularly ordering since! Great tasting sushi! And I love how simpledsimple they are on their Skip menu. New favourite for sure!

The Shrimp Spring Rolls here are AMAZING! The Shrimp Noodle Bowl is pretty good too. Easy ordering, friendly staff, definitely recommend.

This place is my go-to spot for a satisfying and relatively healthy meal. The rice bowls from here are made fresh and are packed with a solid ratio of proteins to veggies to rice. I like that you get a mix of veggies; it s not just lettuce. The sauces (eg the gochu and the one in the poke bowl) are nice and flavourful. In pandemic times, this place has been staying open much later in the day than other places downtown. It s a good option for those like me usually don t have the chance to get dinner until after 7. To top it off, the staff are always very kind. Love supporting them.

Ordered in Uber eats, and got the Alaska Salad roll, dragon roll, Koko roll, and dynamite roll. The dynamite roll was great, one of the better Ive had. The rest of the rolls Id say were average to slightly above average.

Stayed in Ottawa for a few days & COVID precautions only allowed for takeout/ delivery. Even with delivery food was so fresh and super tasty. Lots of vegan/ vegetarian options.

I go here as often as possible. Tried alot of sushi in ottawa, and this one is by far the best. Fish is fresh, and good, and they let you order off the menu for whatever you want to mix together. I have brought several people in to try it and they all love it too. Customer service is great too. They are always grateful to help you, and appreciative of sales, and tips. Good for take out, and eating there, and they have a few tables outside in the summer too.

Was introduced to Rice & Roll through a Ritual app promo and haven t looked back since. Owned and run by lovely people who create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Not to mention delicious food! The bi bim bap rice bowls are excellent. And you can t go wrong with any choice of maki or hosomaki. Great value on the combos. Highly recommend for a quick lunch on the go!

Good sushi especially on the go. If you go after 5pm they have discounted rolls and they are extremely worth it. Only downside for me is its a bit of a Korean fusion they add kimchi to make some of their spicy rolls. However the sushi itself is quite good.

I ate here for the first time yesterday, and it was great. The service is fast, the owners are extremely polite, and the prices are very reasonable. They have sushi and some Korean food as well; dont hesitate to ask them for any changes, they are very accomadoting and will set you up with whatever you want.
