GOGIYA Korean Fried Chicken & Dolsot in Ottawa

The expensive pork soup is flavorless. The soup x2 not good, went in the garbage. Almost $50 worth of soup GARBAGE. Also, shiitty appetizer another $12. I hungry now go to McDonalds another $30 for 2 tummy satisfied.

I love this place. The Dolsot BibimBap with beef is delicious. The sauces and kimchi are great too.

Amazing Korean fried chicken, tenddr, juicy and full of flavour

Ordered the katsu bento, and while most of it was tasty, the katsu itself felt stale and far from fresh. To top it off, I found the top part of a sauce dispenser in the breading. The staff s response? A quick and quiet sorry about that right before I left. Not recommended

I would say, save your money on this place. Overall the food was not very pleasant. The apezitiers were super greasy and with served with no sauces and we had ordered the dumplings & shrimp tempura which generally does, regardless, the appetizers tasted like frozen food heated up. The fried chicken was not bad! But definitely not high quality meat, and for the price, not worth it. The service here is well.. ameatur. And to top it off, they dont even have napkins.. yes you read that right.

Genuinely delicious, and I was surprised how cheap it was.

Korean food lovers need to go here. The food is so good, comforting, absolutely spot on taste and flavor. I like the fact that they have maintained the authentic taste. Been to this place a few times, ate tteobokki (love it), fried chicken, bibimbap, pajeon, etc. and the quality is always fresh. The portions are generous. The aesthetic is quite, comfy and warm. It gives you the K-dramas restaurant vibes. The servers are polite and engaging. The manager is very sweet to talk to and welcoming. Finally a great Korean place in Ottawa.

I always go here for my fix of fried chicken, and they consistently deliver. My go-to order is the fried chicken with cheese on top, but their other flavours (e.g., garlic and soy, honey garlic, etc.) are also great picks. In terms of the chicken quality: crispy skin always, and never dry; I ve never been disappointed. I should also mention that have solid sides, like their cheese balls, fries and tteokbokki. They pair nicely with the drink options. Whether you have a craving or you just need a place to go after a hike, it s always there. Check it out.

I dont usually post reviews but was very disappointed at our last orders from this place. We ordered a few times through UBER and the more we order, the more the sauces gets too bland and watery. Last time I ordered I thought it was just a bad batch but re-ordered again and all the sauces are very bland and tastes like spicy and garlic water. Hopefully they bring back their old recipe for the sauces and not dilute them

The place is a little shady and not so well lit but the food is amazing! Especially the fried chicken.

Updated on July 2024 - highly recommend the all you can eat lunch! They give you a plate and you get to pick and choose from the table up front. Sometimes they re slow at refilling the items but the food itself is tasty. I like the japchae glass noodles, pork and beef. - This is probably my favorite Korean restaurant on Bank St! You order at the front and pay for your food before finding a table. The water and tea is also self-service, as are the side dishes of sweet potato, kimchi and bean sprouts (just bring the empty plate to the front counter). Had the spicy pork bone stew (which had dumplings, noodles, cabbage and tofu inside as well) that was meant to be shared between 2-3 and couldn t even finish it all! A perfect meal for a cold Ottawa evening.

Fried chicken Never disappoints

the chicken is so crispy and juicy, and the tteokbokki was so chewy and firm. we also got the kimchi fried rice. All the portions were big and the total meal was $76 including tip to feed four. The service was so kind and fast. My family was in ottawa for the weekend as we come regularly and we are constantly looking for new places to eat. the atmosphere was a great little cute place to eat with your family. i recommend getting the tteokbokki as it was just so good and you can dip all your food in the sauce if you like. This was such a good find and will definitely come back.

The place is nice. I like the food but the service was so slow and they would forget about the dishes on the table. The cleanliness was not good in my optioning. The atmosphere didn t feel as welcoming as I expected.

Visited this place for our dinner. Ordered boneless chicken (huge mistake by the way)and udon. When I received my boneless chicken, I was surprised. It was boneless. It was chicken. Well that was it. The pieces were so small and god knows what part of chicken this is and never mind how old it is. Two sauces I ordered were hard to tell which was which. The quality of the this dish was equivalent to the cheap, microwave-friendly convenience store chicken gangjeong . I specifically ordered this boneless chicken, well because the store s name is Gogiya (Meat-ya). I expected somewhat typical Korean chicken . The chefs/owners should know better. This boneless chicken SHOULD NOT BE SERVED. Take it off the menu or do it right. If you go to any other Korean chicken places (bbq, nene chicken, chicken plus, the fry) you will know what I mean. My mouth smelled so fishy ( ) after I finished the dish. Yes I finished the dish because I paid for it and I hate to see it go to waste. Surprised this menu hasn t been exposed by the local Koreans. Udon was subpar but edible. Server was nice but didn t visit our table once after the food was served. Do better guys. Shameful quality of food

We had the shrimp tempera and Gogiya chicken appetizers but there are several poke bowls which I will order next time. The atmosphere was relaxed at 1:15. The restaurant is extremely clean and welcoming.

The servers are nice. The food is zero star. Very nice looking fry chicken but all dry inside. Deep fried Pork are burn and dry . Left over from the afternoon is how I feel. The Bone soup is spicy but not fresh. I came because the place was amazing last winter. No more.

Food was stale. The pork bone soup was inauthentic. The pork bones were stale and lukewarm. Tonkatsu was re-fried from some leftover that they were dry and lukewarm. The only saving grace was the kimchi. This was our second visit and our last one.

The Spicy Hot Chicken was 8/10 for me. I couldnt finish all of it on a empty stomach. Great location, and the staff is very nice.

Very good food if you take the soup, allow at least 15 minutes to wait for it to cool. Other than that really great food, superb chicken. The service was a bit absent, after being served no one was seen again, we had to wait a long time to ask for water and the bill. But despite this they are kind. I gave the environment 3 stars because it lacks a Korean soul and there are many exposed cables.

Food went downhill, chicken doesnt taste fresh as it used to. Bibimbap doesnt taste good and isnt even served in a hot stone bowl anymore. New management screwed this place over.

We had a very disappointing experience at this Korean restaurant. The tteokbokki we ordered looked nothing like the pictures on the menu. When we brought this up with the server, she simply acknowledged with a hmm and then ended her shift without addressing the issue or informing the next server. No one else came to handle our complaint for the rest of our meal. Additionally, the pork bone soup was very unappetizing, though the fried chicken was decent. Overall, the lack of service and food quality left us extremely dissatisfied.

This definitely tastes like Korean fried chicken. They also have authentic tasting (and looking!) Gamjatang. Japchae was also delicious but I wish the portion was bigger. This place is one of the only 2 downtown Korean chicken places I will go to. I ve gotten take out numerous times and so far, so good!

The Korean fried chicken was amazing. Tried all the different types they had and they were all great. Fried to crispy perfection, coated in the different sauces all while nice and moist on the inside. The only thing I wasn t a huge fan of was the fact that a lot of the sauces were very sweet, even the spicy sauces. Nonetheless the food was excellent and probably some of the best fried chicken i ve ever had.

The honey & garlic one tastes incredible. The golden cheese one tastes kind of plain but its indeed golden cheese flavor and the chicken is also tender so nothing to complain here.

While we LOVE the Golden Chicken from Gogiya, this review is about the lunch specials. It is hard to find affordable restaurants in Downtown Ottawa. I passed by Gogiya during my lunch and thought I should try the $11.99 lunch specials and WOW was it worth the price. I tried the chicken bowl with gochujang and spicy mayo. It has cabbage, japchae, rice etc! A bowl this good and this serving would be $16-20 in other places (like the poke bowl I got nearby the day before). Im pleased and if youre a worker in downtown Ottawa looking for lunch, this is your place.

The food seemed stale, I vomited when leaving the restaurant on the way back to my car. The fried chicken was undercooked and there were bone shards in the meat. The soup tasted like not fresh fish. I dont recommend.

(BEWARE DO NOT EAT HERE) Please do not eat here, while I was dining in, I saw two cockroaches near my table. I dont know if they clean this place properly but it was very disgusting. The food is alright but the atmosphere was horrendous. There are people yelling in the back and the servers were treated really bad, judging from what I heard. The restrooms were dirty and needs some cleaning. If I saw a few cockroaches near me, there must be an infestation and could contaminate your food, utensils and plates. I wouldnt want to dine here after seeing that.

I was looking forward to my dish when I order, because it was always out of stock. Now I ordered 2 set of Gam-ja-tang and both orders are wrong completely wrong. There were supposed to have potato in the dish but I got none. Just tofu and vegetables thats it. The moment I got the dish get back on uber eats and it is out of order. If you dont have the dish dont allow people to order it for god sake

Fried chicken was excellent!! Flavourful, saucy, huge portions. Veggie gyoza was awful, wouldn t do it again. Very understaffed considering the traffic. Might have only had 1 or 2 people in the kitchen despite a full restaurant and take out orders. One server. Could really do great things if they put some effort into the upkeep and decor - stains on the walls, looking rough, etc. Has potential!

Incredible Korean fried chicken! I chose the spicy sauce on the chicken (or get it on the side) it was so good. Spice but crazy spice. Also got the kimchi soup wow! The service was excellent (younger girl with glasses). Atmosphere a 4 star as it s nothing special but who cares. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!

I ve dined in a couple times before and the service and food had always been pretty good, but I cant say the same for the last time I was there (it was a few months back and I haven t been back since). The food was still good, but the service was not. Our server looked annoyed to be serving us, was not friendly or welcoming, and looked as if they wanted to rush our dine in experience. Overall was not a welcoming environment.

Gave this a try while visiting Ottawa. My feedback from my experience: - Food (1/5): definitely not authentic Korean cuisine, the topokki (1) is sweet and spicy and sauce is to watery, close to being soup. Bibimbap (2) doesnt have carrots. Fried chicken (3) isnt cut in smaller pieces for easier to share in a party of 8 people. - Service (4/5): she was really nice, but she doesnt know much about the dishes. - Environment (2/5): dining area is clean ish, but toilet require some cleaning. Looking at the older pictures, I suspect there might be a new owner. I will look forward to try this place again after few months and hopefully they improve

This place used to be my favourite, during covid , before /after covid for the lunch. The portion was really good for the k bowl lunch special. Today I took the same k bowl and when I opened the box,I was very surprised how commercial they became. It was full of rice mainly , just some beef on top of the rice ( like toppings), and small amount of noodles /1 dumpling and cabbage/lettuce as usual. I understand how the price of the grocery went up, but I did not expect this very small quantity of beef and a bowl full of rice from you guys. I mean, please increase the price by a dollar or two if you need to, but provide good quantity of protein to the customers, not just curbs! Customers actually notice all those changes !!

Maybe they didnt remove the blood from the chicken, but the inside was black and fishy... The seasoning is okay, but the garlic soy sauce is too sparing, so it doesnt cover up the fishy taste, so its tasteless I had good taste before, so I was looking forward to it, but I was disappointed.

A perfect lunch experience! We ordered some friend chicken with one of the soups. They were prepared relatively quickly, and both dishes were very delicious. The server was kind and an appropriate level of attentiveness without intruding too much. Its a cozy place, perfect for a meal on a chilly day. Looking forward to going again :) Wheelchair accessibility: Theyve got a stable ramp at the entrance. The table setup seems like it would be easy enough to remove a chair to make space for wheelchairs.

The dolsot bi-bim-bap was fantastic! With their Go-Chu-Jang and sides of kimchi and sweet potatoes made for a hearthy delicious meal. Staff was prompt to help and friendly. It seems to have come from a branch of the Arum Market, so you know the quality is going to be awesome!

One of the best Kim Chi in town. Generous portions and authentic taste. Spicy was not too spicy, compared to other korean restaurants Ive been to in North America and South Korea of course. Highly recommend for larger groups to share the dishes. Otherwise, even though its Korean, some traditional table or service actions were missing.

I got the Raw Honey Garlic and the Hot and spicy. Both were really good. Something to note: they no longer sell the half/ full chicken. They only sell wings or legs, which was a turn off, but still worked out well.

We were seated and ordered immediately, then waited an hour after we ordered, and were served someone elses order twice. Both times the dishes were cold. We were charged $27 for some tea and a small plate of cold boneless wings with very little flavoring on them. They didnt comp anything and we never did get our meal. In the end we just left.

Too delicious! I ve gotten takeout three times since discovering them last month. Their Dak Kang Jeong is a reasonable price for the amount of food you get. Their original sweet and spicy chicken is truly the best. Ottawas best kept restaurant secret!

Legit Korean fried chicken certified by my Korean boyfriend. Their chicken is really good, the skin is crispy, the meat is tender and the sauce is not too spicy or salty. They were running a promotion, 50% off when ordered 10 chicken legs so only 16$(really good price)!!! They also have 30% off on other items. Their gamjatang is also pretty authentic (I tried a lot of gamjatang before and this is easily the top 3). The staffs were nice. Side dishes are free to refill. Very happy with our visit.

Was ok, but not great. Ordered the Korean chicken and bibimbap. Bibimbap not in the ironcast dish, just rice on a plate. Was ok but not great. Paper cups, very basic place and a bit expensive for the kind of place it is.

GOGIYA I am a big fan of everything Korean Cuisine, I watched a special with David Chang on his ugly delicious when he explained his favorite thing is Korean fusion... so what better then Fried Chicken right? Absolutely unreal, 30$ and we had 18 pieces, all mixed favors.. crazy value and portion size, honestly probably the best fried chicken I have had. I highly recommend the place, dont let the decor surprise you, its a quick in and out spot but really really good!

Brilliant fried chicken. I tried the hot and spicy sauce and the garlic sauce and loved both. The portions are great and easily justify the price. The costing is great too, very affordable. The staff were very courteous and sweet. The menu was very short with some more items coming soon. Gogiya is definitely a top pick for Korean fried chicken in my books!

I ordered lunch online and chose the gogiya bank st. location. When I went to pick it up, I was told it was another bank st. location 20 minutes away and that this has happened before to others. Their website was hard to navigate and not clear. I had to go somewhere else for lunch since I have meetings all afternoon. Will not come back.

My first time at Gogiya Chicken! We got 2 lbs of chicken wings and Doldot Bibimbap! The side dishes weren t fresh and I was disappointed. We quickly got our order (not even 10 mins after ordering). The chicken wings were ok, I think the sauces were quite decent, however, half way through all you could taste is the oil that the chicken was cooked in. The bibimbap was a disappointment. The rice is a bit soggy and wakame seaweed was added to the bibimbap, which is a surprise to me since I don t see this often. We got beef as our protein of choice and the beef was dried, in a way that meat was left on the counter for a while, iykyk. For $20-$30 per person I expect more from the food quality! The server was lovely though!

Ive ordered delivery from GOGIYA multiple times over the last year and Ive found it to be delicious and authentic Korean Fried chicken. Unfortunately, my recent experiences have been disappointing. It seems they have gotten rid of their whole chicken option, which is usually standard for Korean Fried Chicken, and this makes it hard to share the meal now as is typically done but I accepted this change as I still loved their food. The other evening, I decided to try dining in for the first time. I arrived at 8PM (3 hours before closing) and when I went to order I was told they were sold out of all their chicken except boneless. I was frustrated that we were seated and took the time to sit with the menu and were not informed that half the menu was not available on our arrival and were only told once we went to order. Not to mention, they charge extra for any type of sauce for the boneless but I had come specifically for the saucy chicken. So not only did they not have the desired chicken but the meal would cost way more as I would be charged for the sauce. It was very disappointing. While I understand it was later in the evening, it was shocking to me that a place that specializes in fried chicken would be out of half of their menu many hours before closing. While I really enjoyed this place at first, my recent experiences have left much to be desired. I will probably look to take my business elsewhere but I hope GOGIYA can make some improvements for the future as I really enjoyed their food at one time.

Absolute hidden gem. When we went, the line was packed next door at a ramen place but little do they know, this was the place to be! We were a bit afraid that it was nearly empty during dinner time but was extremely surprised by the quality and amazing price of the food. We got the fried chicken drumsticks for half price and it was incredible. The gamjatang and bimbimbap was also excellent. I was surprised they didn t have soju as there were ads on all the walls but oh well. Will certainly visit again! Highly recommend!

Today was my first time trying this restaurant and I ordered the kimchi jiggae. Unfortunately, it s been my least favorite rendition of the dish that I ve tried to date as it tasted like tomato sauce and extremely spicy kimchi, not a flavour with much depth. Furthermore, the small pork cubes were over cooked and the tofu flavourless. I m sure their other dishes might have been very tasty but I will not be returning since kimchi jiggae is a staple in Korean cuisine and I figure it should be an example of the rest of their food.

Amazing and really yummy korean fried chicken! Portions were great and alot of meat for what its worth. We tried the boneless chicken and the chicken legs. The sauces we tried were garlic & soy, garlic & honey, and sweet and spicy. The Bibimbap was ok. Definitely come here for the chicken :)

Ordered late at night so the only chicken they had left was the chicken legs. No exaggeration, this was the best chicken Ive had in my life. So unbelievably tasty and amazing quality. I cant wait to try the other cuts and flavours.

I asked them for recommendations and had a lot of questions when I called in my order and the lady was really excellent at helping me which is not something I expect. The food was also incredible! Best fried chicken of the city, i love it...

This place was so good! We got the fried chicken two ways: original crispy and sweet and spicy. It was sticky, crispy, juicy, delicious chicken! Ask for more napkins! Also had the pork neck bone soup! Sounds weird but it was so tender! Good spicy broth too! I highly recommend this place!

The chicken has after taste for some reason, pa jeon is all flour, kimchi fried rice is so wet and sticky.

Second visit and disappointed. It seems to have changed hands. The chicken was dry and bland. We asked for kimchi twice and never got it. And we were told 15 minutes before closing that they were about to close so could we get ready to leave. As it took 30 minutes to get our food (when they weren t busy) it was pretty annoying to be asked to get a move on 15 minutes before their posted closing time.

Ordered food from here. Was delicious! I ve been to South Korea. The food is quite comparable. So for Ottawa that s AMAZING. The spicy fried chicken is really spicy and delicious. Had the half and half with original. So helped to tone down the spice. Had Tteokboki which was tasty. And beef bulgogi bento too. Nice presentation and variety. Also tried Pork bone soup. Delicious! Can t wait to order again or eat in person soon.

Have tried the half and half fried chicken with original crispy and garlic soy. They are not juicy at all, dry with thick crust. I couldn t taste any garlic and soy from the chicken at all. I actually didn t expect much but it was really bad. Not worth the money at all.

Great service, very fast and friendly. Exceptional food quality. I had the sweet and spicy fried chicken. It was the best fried chicken Ive ever had, including the legendary Poulet Maniaque in Gatineau. Perfectly cooked, amazing crispy coating that exploded with flavor. Not bad! The food was alright and the fried chicken had nice breading. I forgot to take pictures of the other food but the takoyaki was nice and warm and the kimchi fried rice was sufficient. The place seemed a bit dirty though because our table, chairs, and the floor around us seemed sticky which was a bit gross. Also, the menus were a bit confusing because some items didn t have a price while other items were blanked out (likely because they changed the price of the item or took the item off of the menu). Overall I didn t mind this place!

Cozy little Korean fried chicken place. quite big chicken pieces for the price. $24.95 for 8 pieces of two flavors.

Great food. Chicken is juicy and crispy and if you get the half and half split with a friend and get a nice meal.

Good service, soup is nice, with a good amount of rice to accompany it. The soup could use some more meat though. Prices are a little high, but I m from Montreal, so maybe I m biased.

Nice hole in the wall joint. Great, juicy octopus balls, and amazing fried chicken. Im normally not a big fried chicken fan, but this was amazing in combination with the soft, even the chicken which I normally find dry was very moist and easy to eat. Good service as well, they give us these big sippy cups to drink out of. The bathroom is in the basement which is fun.

The Gamjatang is amazing! Lots of pork bones and great flavour. The place is small but service and food is pretty good. The bento boxes are good value with plenty of satisfying items and the bibimbap is on point.

Really love this restaurant. Parking is a bit hard though so we order using Uber eats. Really great portions. Spicy chicken is incredibly spicy by the way. Always a reliable plan for Korean food! Update: went in person and the staff are just so extremely kind!

I am from Toronto. This kind thing never happen in Torontos Korean restaurants. I order take out tonkatsu and other foods and it didnt come with tonkatsu sauce and no chopsticks or spoon to eat. I called restaurant and they said they are out of tonkatus sauce. And guy told me if I come back he can give me Teriyaki sauce. They should of told me they are out of sauce when I was there to pick it up. No good....

My friend recommend me this restaurant. Apparently Gogiya is her favorite Korean Chicken restaurant. I ordered Korean Fried Chicken half & half. - Original - sweet& spicy I liked that they gave me big pieces of chicken. The price is a bit salty, but its a lot. Two pieces fill me up.

Good food

Bibimbap was the worst I have had. The toppings were raw purple cabbage, thick shredded carrots and radish. No sesame oil, no seasoned spinach or shredded zucchini, no seasoned soybean sprouts - those are supposed to be standard bibimbap toppings! The rice was slightly mushy but also in slightly hard clumps. Served in a shallow plastic bowl that is not good for mixing. Also, their website said this location has dolsot bibimbap (bibimbap served in a traditional stone bowl) and jigae (stews/soups). Well, it turned out they got neither. Don t come here if you want good bibimbap or jigae.

An awesome place to have korean fried chicken with friends or as takeout! Even in big portions, the chicken is not too greasy and doesnt leave you bloated. This is the real KFC The seafood pancake is delicious as well

Decent chicken but not fully worth its price point.

I have eaten here several times in the past. Two orders through uber eats of 8 piece comes with 7 pieces. So the next time I order for pickup to understand what happened and make sure I get 8 pieces. I explained to the person who took the order the uber order issues and ask that she make sure that I get the full 8 pieces. She tells me that the supplier only gives them 1/2 wing portions so they only give 7 pieces. I believe they should change the advertisement on this item. They pay their supplier per pound for chicken, and they charge their customers per piece for chicken falsely. False advertisement. An original crispy is 41 dollars thats 5 dollars per piece! Check your orders people.....

Very crunchy fried chicken. The original flavor almost plain and no flavor. Love the soy and garlic flavor. They don t serve with kimchi or assorted veggies anymore after Covid. My Korean friend asked for them, and they were kind and brought us some

This place was just alright. When we arrived, the server informed us that the 8-piece chicken platters (i.e., the main feature of their menu) were not available. There was also no spicy mayo. We ended up getting one of the chicken bowls, which was pretty good and a decent-sized portion. The service was super slow (even though the place wasnt full), which was inconvenient over lunch when youre at work. The service wasnt particularly friendly either. All in all, a decent spot, but nothing special.

Disappointing experience dining in. We waited for our food for 40 minutes. Kimchi rice was great, but nothing extraordinary about the chicken. Server was polite about the delay, but it wasn t worth waiting 40 minutes for it.

I had a k-bowl, with chicken teriyaki. It was absolutely delicious. I will definitely be coming back for future lunches.

Dined in with one other person. Unfortunately, my companion s rice bowl arrived 30 minutes before my chicken and our tempura shrimp, so they were finished by the time my food arrived. They also messed up my order by giving me the wrong flavour, but made it up by giving me what i ordered on top of what i received. Overall poor dine in experience, but the food was pretty good, only reason it s not 1 star.

Was very disappointed not as spicy as expected and too overly sweet. Didnt even have any hot sauce plus service was not too good, spent almost 80 dollars was not worth the price.

Me and my friend went there today for her birthday and we were both disappointed. Nothing was spicy like it was supposed to be and everything just tasted off(overly sweet). Once we left we both felt sick but my friend was the one that threw up, pretty sure the chicken was undercooked, definitely wasn t real Korean food. Total waste of $80! We got da boki ( too sweet and too fishy fish cakes taste old) cheese balls over priced for 5 small balls and chicken was undercooked and not spicy. Kimchi was the only good thing. Customer service was terrible.

Restaurant service changed now. Very minimal customer service. More of a self serve yourself tea so not worth eating there and food is priced high for minimum customers service. Used to eat here often before. First time having a takeout. Gamja Tang is good. Disappointed cause they barely had any meat in the bibimbap, just slivers with small portioned vegetables, so mainly composed of rice where you re paying $13 for. And the side dishes are extremely small. Literally three slices of small kimchi slices. Not worth it. Delivery everything was good until I ate a big piece of plastic in the pork bulgogi!

GOGIYA Fried Chicken is my favourite restaurant in Ottawa by a landslide. Every item I ve had is incredible, their fried chicken might be the best I ve ever had, they drench it in one of their five delicious, flavourful sauces (or cheese) and the chicken is somehow always still super crispy. It s not just the chicken either, their other dishes are phenomenal as well. The Kimchi fried rice is super flavourful with a generous amount of Kimchi & meat, topped with the crispiest egg I ve ever seen. The tteokboki is so flavourful, though probably the most challenging food to eat with chopsticks that I ve ever experienced. Their takoyaki tastes very similar to the takoyaki I ve eaten in Japan, and their veggie gyoza is super crispy and very light on the stomach. I ve been to this restaurant about 7 times now, I ve brought a total of 14 friends and they ve all loved it. If you haven t been to this restaurant PLEASE go try their food, I promise it won t disappoint.

The two times I ve wanted to give this place a try is either because they don t have the items in the menu or because the service is so bad that after sitting at my table for more than 10 minutes nobody has bothered to come and take my order.

Small, hole in the wall Korean Restaurant in Ottowa Canada. Great service and quaint atmosphere. Our server was sweet and recommended food items to our party. We ordered Bulgogi Bowl and the Korean Chicken. Highly recommend both items. Kimchee was on the spicier side but good. Prices reasonable as well.

Very bare-bones korean fried chicken restaurant. They only had breasts and thighs for the fried chicken. Portion was small. No side dishes served to cut through the greasy chicken. Our tteokbokki appetizer wasn t good at all. Very liquidy sauce and overcooked ingredients. Pork gyoza had too much garlic. When I went a few years ago, this place used to be Dolsot cafe and I also had a bad experience. Disappointed that it hasn t improved.

The spicy chicken and the gamja-tang are 5/5. The chicken was crispy outside and well seasoned. The gamja-tang was very tasty and the meat portion was generous. Unfortunately, the seafood pajeon was a disappointment. First, it wasn t crispy, with only some squid slices, but mostly made of pollock crabs,and carrots. I have had way better pajeon. Also, they only give out 2 side dishes (kimchi and sweetened potatoes) Howey, price was reasonable. I think they can clean up the place and make it more appealing.

I loved their teokbokki and pa jeon!!! I cant remember what the meal was called but I loved it. I stayed in ottawa for a week, I went there twice and both times the food was delicious. I would come back again on my next trip. Vegetarian options: Pa jeon (veggie pancakes) were so delicious.

We decided to try this place when the regular restaurant that we go to s lineup was too big. Every time I walked past this place I was curious, and it always has people there. Always busy is a good sign! This time, we finally decided to check it out. Once we got inside, we were a bit confused as to where to sit, or if a hostess would be seating us. However, once we spoke to staff at the counter, they kindly gave us a table and we were taken care of from there. They had a few selections of import beers. They had a large menu with many Korean options. We decided to try a bunch of different things. Everything was extremely delicious, but the highlight here is really their crispy chicken, and the kimchi was delicious. Which I believe the chicken they ve won prizes for. I ve travelled to Korea, and I was a huge fan of the food. So this was an opportunity for me to really compare. We had the pleasure of meeting a Korean couple there who gave us a few food suggestions. The overall vibe of the restaurant is very casual, but it makes for a nice time on a casual date with a spouse or a friend. Server was excellent. Tips are shared across staff. The food was also excellent the next day as leftovers. I will definitely come back.

. I ordered the sweet and Spicy fried chicken with the sauce on the side. It came really fast and the chicken was super crispy. It s a lot more crispy than KFC. The Original Crispy had less flavours than the other flavours but it is great for people who don t want too much salt and flavouring in their chicken. You can add the sauce on if you want more flavour. I also ordered the Pa-Jeon which was the best I had. They did not cut back on the squid so the pieces are very large. I loved that. The ones I had before always cut back on the squid for savings on cost but this one was very generous,l. Honestly I came for the fried chicken but I liked the Pa-Jeon way more. Both were really good but the Pa-Jeon puts them about other korean restaurants I tried. Definitely recommend the Pa-Jeon if you like the texture of Squid.
