Koreana Restaurant in Ottawa

I barely write a bad review about restaurant. But today, I was so disappointed that I had to write this review. As a Korean, I go to Koreana once in a while last 12 years and it has been mediocre but today was most horrible experience in my life ordering 2 dishes(Tangsuyuk and Jjamppong). First of all, when we arrived the server didnt provide us a menu so I had to get it myself. Then, it took long time to take our order. Finally when the dishes came out, they forgot one of my order and the server didnt even say sorry for that mistake. Tangsuyuk was the worst one I ever had in my life. The meat was so fatty and low quality, it was almost crime to make the dish with it. Jjamppong was also horrible. Underseasoned and nowhere close to the one I usually order in other Korean restaurants. I am sorry that Ottawa people have this terrible food in Korean restaurant as a Korean. It is embarrassing honestly. I will never come back again.

My favourite restaurant, my comfort food. Birthdays ? I m there. Anniversary? I m there. I m sad? I m there. Small and cozy restaurant with ready to help employees. I hope they will bring the appetizers to Uber eats.

As a Korean person, Im telling you this place sucks and is not real Korean food. The jjajangmyeon sucks, nothing like the real thing. I could even eat it. I threw it away. The KKanpoongi and Tangsuyuk were terrible, just greasy batter and fat in a weird sauce nothing like the real thing and also went in the garbage. I was hoping for some good food since you cant find any good authentic Korean food in this city beyond the basic bibimbap and korean BBQ. I guarantee that these are not real Koreans running the restaurant. If they are, shame on them. Mugoonghwa Garden on Rideau is way better than this, although they got rid of Jjajangmyon on their menu sadly.

Take out. They did not close the lid properly on one of our soups and it spilled during the drive home, deteriorating the bag causing the bag to fail, dropping our hot soups. When called to inform them, Andrew (if his real name) said manager only speaks Korean and so I told him what happened. We got a cold sorry . If you see the counter run by young men, RUN!! They didn t even realize they had a pick up order ready to go when we got there to pick up. Not worth going back.

La nourriture est très savoureuse, surtout les viandes. Le concept est intéressant, mais aucune information ne nous a été donné par rapport au grill. Le grill dans les tables était brisé, on nous a donné un grill externe, ne sachant aucunement comment lutiliser. Le service est médiocre, on a manqué deau à plusieurs reprises. Lambiance était correcte.

Dirty. Bathroom reeked of urine and was very unclean. Dining room floor was stained carpet. Table was sticky and dirty. So I dont trust the kitchen was clean either. But my food came in a heated bowl so it was hot enough to kill any bugs... And my chop sticks were single use wrapped in paper. Servers were good but lose points for cleanliness. I wouldnt go there again.

The service was amazing, polite, kind, and very accommodating. He answered all of our questions and offered to let us taste things before we received a full order of them. Food was flavourful and great quality meats for the BBQ. Only odd thing was there was no music playing. Overall a great experience. We will definitely be coming back

Discusting creapy insect in my dish!!

I had often come here for all-you-can-eat KBBQ. Despite the one time in 2018 where I took a bite of meat and ended up biting on a piece of glass. Someone else at the table foolishly gave the piece back to the waitress (evidence gone) and I was only offered a bottle of alcohol as an apology (not of my interest). Aside from that, the meat still tasted still good, but the way they handle the glass in food was poorly done. ¯\_( )_/¯ 5 stars for the food that was not bad, but 4 away for the the fact there was something deadly that could have really harmed someone who does not thoroughly chew food.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Koreana for Korean BBQ, and I have to say that it was an absolutely amazing experience! First of all, the atmosphere of the restaurant was warm and welcoming, with a cozy and intimate feel that made it perfect for a date night or a casual dinner with friends. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful, and made sure that we were comfortable and had everything we needed throughout the meal. The food itself was absolutely delicious - we ordered a variety of different meats and vegetables to grill at the table, and they were all cooked to perfection. The marinades and sauces that were provided were all so flavorful and added an extra depth of taste to the dishes. I especially loved the kimchi and other Korean side dishes that were served alongside the grilled items - they really helped to round out the meal and gave us a chance to try a wide variety of flavors. I am a big fan of Korean barbecues Is there is one in Montreal I go to all the time And theres one in Niagara Ive been to which was amazing This place however did not Meet the same expectations However it was good but they do not have enough options on the menu for their all you can eat they have 3 meats theyre pretty fatty The atmosphere was very bright and unwelcoming not cozy Service was not the best.. At 1 point I had the server turn my grill off before the meat was even fully cooked.... My 1st experience of Korean barbecue in Ottawa I will continue my adventure hoping to find better

Very dated, very expensive now. It was nice ce cause I manage to spend time with my family cook bbq while chatting and didnt need to be doing dishes after. Very grimmy floor, tables and chairs are dirty and falling apart. Even the cook pan is not properly cleaned.

Went in February for my birthday dinner. Called to make a reservation for 8:30, I believe they close at 9:30. We, party of 2, arrived ten minutes later due to poor weather conditions making it difficult to find safe parking (that s on us). Walked in and was immediately interrupted by one of the workers before I could say that we had an 8:30 reservation and give an apology for our tardiness, saying that we could only get one thing off of the menu if we wanted to still eat there. That was fine by us, but the attitude wasn t necessary. They closed at 9:30. I worked in a restaurant and I understand the urgent desire for people to be out by closing, but it s not like we arrived five minutes before closing. Anyways, we were seated and served relatively quickly. We each ordered a main dish, a drink and two sides. Both drinks never arrived and both sides never arrived. We were urged to leave around 9:20, and so we got up to pay. They had the audacity to charge us for the items we never received and then ARGUE that we received them. Pointed to our table to show that there were only two empty dishes on it, from our mains. Then, had the audacity to prompt for a tip (I know it s the machine that now prompts it automatically which is a whole different growing issue, but it adds to the frustration we endured). Restaurant didn t seem clean. Food seemed safe, but the restaurant itself seemed poorly maintained. Great food, at least the food that was delivered to our table. Will not be returning. Rude and impatient staff that really ruined the night for us.

Some of the best Korean Barbecue I have had in my life. Staff was friendly no matter how many times we asked for more Banchan. Could not recommend more!

Cold rice. Spicy? If you grew up in Idaho maybe. Our seafood noodles, not spicy, not hot, two mussels, two tiny shrimp and some rubbery somethings, not sure what it was. The rice with kimchi pork had lots of pork, wow, but the kimchee as just flavourless cabbage. Our appetizers came with the meal, our beers came halfway through it. After we got our beers our waiter, who was nice enough, never came back even though we lingered over the remnants. My friend, inexplicably, want to take home the noodles, but in the complete absence of the waiter, (we were alone on the second floor) he had to carry it down the stairs himself. The appetizers were okay, but too late. I will never ever go there again. Our meal cost $77 plus tip, (we left a tip). Ottawa restos really need to up their game. I used to like this place before covid.

Been going here for years for all you can eat Korean BBQ. Ive tried other places but I always come back here. Best one in Ottawa

The service was quick and efficient. Wish they took some time to explain the menu but that s fine I guess we should have asked. Food was great. Didn t get a chance to try the all you can eat bbq. Instead we went with the teriyaki chicken, shrimp and veg tempura and kimchi pork. I was a bit surprised that the menu was so beef heavy as I was hoping for the pork options. They usually have pork bulgogi along side beef but this restaurant had a majority chicken and beef meals. Portions were decent sized. It was good. I will definitely come again to try the all you can eat bbq. Vegetarian options: Not much veg options but available for certain dishes to sub meat for tofu. Parking: There is a paid parking close by which was 5 dollars for the whole day weekend.

Beef Bulgogi is my favorite dish and the side dishes have never failed me.

First and foremost, when all the restaurants in the vicinity were closing at 8pm, Koreana allowed us to come eat, although they were closing within the next 15 minutes. However, one may think Ah they are closing early, quality and quantity wouldnt be great, wrong, this place was absolutely wonderful. The Hostess, probably the owner, was absolutely welcoming and an absolute pleasure to talk to, and anything you would expect a Host to do. Thank you for a great 1st experience. The food is what made our evening even more worth the while. An absolute 10/10 for this place and the people who make your dinner amazing. Thank you Koreana.

Very bad food

Took the grandkids and family out this weekend, and had a great time. Service was amazing, food great, kids even tried everything and enjoyed. Great time, and super flavorfull food. loved it.

Lack of staff, few food menu only not worth it for the price only selected item not the REAL typical buffet, no parking need to pay parking and the staff already included her tips as her choice which is pretty unusual...

We tried the All you can BBQ, and we had lot of options to try. The taste was amazing and we tried Soju as well.

Great little spot for AYCE Korean BBQ. We had a group of 7 guys, so we had two tabletop grills. The service was quick and friendly, and the food came out at a decent pace. The sushi wasnt fantastic but the bbq beef and chicken was well marinated and accompanied by plentybof sides. We dont eat as much as we used to, so maybe we dont get the same value we used to, but it was a fun, clean, and friendly place to have a casual get-together. Vegetarian options: Limited. It is a sushi and bbq place, after all.

super delicious and ultra fast restaurant, impeccable service

Went in for lunch on a Saturday with family. They seem to rush the meat onto the stove top. The waiter with glasses felt the need to touch our food by telling us there is one piece of meat remaining on the grill. Also noticed a long black hair in the food. One of the elders that works there randomly shut off our grill. No hey, let me turn this down for you. Nothing. So rude. Please replace your carpet. Wouldnt recommend or return under any circumstance.

Sides were meh. The Korean pancakes were cold and a little sour like they were old? The server just plopped all the meat onto our grill. When we ordered second round and asked for the meat to be left on the side, we were denied and told that the owner did not like that people grilled their meat piece and piece and it created a lot of smoke in the place, so they had to monitor it. I guess but Im paying for BBQ, not stir fry. Putting a large amount of meat on a cold pan resulted in overcrowding and a large amount of liquid pulling at the bottom. Our meat was overcooked before it could nicely char. When I went to pay, the server handed me the terminal and said that tip was already added. I had not been informed of this beforehand and we were 2 people (Ive only ever seen default tip for a big group). The server didnt even say how much was tip, but I think they used 15%. So between this and Gyubee, go to Gyubee! A little more expensive but many more options for AYCE, much better food and service

Staff is very untrained on how to serve customers. They have a mandatory tip, repetitive unnecessary comments like reminding us we have to pay for the food when placing an order. They don t ask before they turn your stove off. The server is very judgmental about the fact I want my chicken and beef well done. Insists that it s fine when it s literally still raw inside. I don t understand why I have to cook my food to my servers preference.

Make sure youre there before dinner time

The best marinated meat of all 4 korean bbqs I have been! Very fair price. At that time dinner was $28.99 a person. And they also serve sushi in their buffet menu. Its also in Chinatown :) parking was cheap too.

Mediocre. Dont dare bring a date here or anyone you care about, unless they also enjoy mediocrity. The food wasnt bad, it didnt make me sick, but management clearly doesnt care about cleanliness of the floors, washrooms, or about creating any ambiance. Service was okay.

Solid place for all you can eat, cool aspect of cooking your own meat using hot plates. Only downside is the lack of ventilation within the restaurant, may come out smelling like a deep fried wonton. Other than the poor breathing conditions, its a staple of China town !

I expected it to be pretty authentic since it is a Korean and Japanese restaurant, however the jajjang-myeon did not have enough black bean flavor to it. The jjampong did not really have a seafood-like broth, it was more like a vegetable broth even though its a seafood dish. Moving on, the udon was far from what you would expect Japanese udon, it was closer to a Korean dwenjjang-chigae, which is a fermented soy-bean soup. The bibimbap however was good. Now besides the food the lighting upstairs is terrible, its so dim, the table was sticky and one thing I notice is POOR VENTILATION, it smelled like smoked meat everywherr. Heading downstairs I could literally see the smoke in the air. Crazy that a place that offers KBBQ does not have proper ventilation.

Samisinky center of Chinatown. Great traditional food in large portions (if you want to try several dishes, you will not eat the portion, but there is an opportunity to take it with you) Additional compliments from the establishment are very tasty, and you can also order them in unlimited quantities and for free! I did not give it the maximum score, because the waiter is not very familiar with the menu and when asked to recommend a drink, he replied that he does not drink alcohol and cannot recommend anything . And also not very good ventilation (grilled dishes are on the menu and I do not recommend visiting in clothes that strongly absorb odors)

The food at Koreana is great! However, I felt compelled to write this review because the woman who was serving us really disturbed our experience yesterday evening. She constantly hovered around our table, made judgemental comments about the amount of food we were ordering, and was rude, almost making us uncomfortable.

i came her with my friends expecting to get a korean BBQ experience, and instead it was just a pan that fried the food. After that we were informed that they don t change the pan due to high demand . We wanted to cook our food well done and the servers kept coming and turning off our heat which was a bit annoying as well. Other than that it tasted pretty good, and the prices were reasonable.

A super traditional restaurant with great food. I will definitely come back other times. I really enjoyed these dishes: Seafood BBQ and Dynamite.

Marinated Beef was undercooked even though we ordered well in advance and asked for it to be well done, pretty sure we got food poisoning from this dish but cant be positive, the seafood pancake was probably the best dish, the deep fried chicken was all breading with small amounts of dark meat inside, ordered 2 shushi apps and only got 1, asked for a receipt and was only willing to supply with the debit transaction, very disappointed and will not be going back as we paid well over $100 to be sick, please beware

The one thing I like about this restaurant is that it seems to be family-owned and operated - they work hard and I can respect that. However, I just dont think their korean bbq is very good and the service was lacking. We thought its just budget kbbq at least the price is ok when we had our first taste, however the price didnt end up very different from the other kbbq options in Ottawa. There were 3 different meat options, all of which had the same marinade & taste. Not sliced or prepped well. Chicken, pork, and beef all thrown together at the same time onto our grill by the servers instead of letting us do it ourselves (huge risk for cross contamination) and they were very eager for us to shut off the stoves ASAP. I just think you can pay for a substantially better quality product elsewhere.

When we came for dinner we were seated upstairs and told to press the bell when ready. We ran the bell 5 times and waited about 30 mins. We were never attended to. So we just got up and left and never received an apology. If my business is not needed - thats fine. I dont recommend eating here especially if they are busy.

Ordered 4 servings of marinated beef ribs and the server wont change the pan despite the pan was burnt up from heavily marinated sauce. Apparently changing the pan is reserved for all you can eat customers. Potato and seaweed side dishes were pretty bad. Only redeeming factor was bean paste soup which usually came as a compliment when you order more than 2 servings of tabletop cooking meats (obviously not anymore lol). Service and taste changed dramatically.

Been to multiple Korean restaurants in Ottawa, and Koreana blew them ALL away. Best Korean cuisine in Ottawa, unreal and quick service. Definitely going back!

My partner and I lived in Korea for a bit and we always get a hankering for a good taste of the old days. We went in and were so excited to see they had the service bells, such an efficient way to deliver service. The food was amazing, but the upstairs atmosphere was a bit outdated, but with the right camera framing, amazing.

Back at the nation s capital just for a quick trip to visit one of my favourite peeps in the world, my nephew. . He lived in Korea for a few years so I thought Korean food would be a great treat for him tonight. Unfortunately, our preferred restaurant was fully booked but we found this Korean/ Japanese place that took us in without a reservation . The all-you-can-eat option was very cheap. The selections were very limited but one can t really expect lots of selections and premium ingredients for the very reasonable price. The Korean items were surprisingly amazing! I won t even recommend ordering the Japanese items except for the perfectly cooked and delicious crispy Gyoza. . The ambience was very quirky and the place was very busy and that s probably why the service was almost non existent. We had to ask for refills a few times and I guess we must have eaten a lot as one of the staff members just turned off our stove even if we wanted to order more. Oh yeah, apparently they ran out of soju? Ummmm really? A Korean restaurant running out of soju on a weekend, during dinner service? Go figure! . Despite the somewhat lacklustre experience, we were grateful that we were accommodated without a reservation and I got to bond with my nephew even for a couple of hours. . If I find myself back in the city, I would go back again to see if that was just an off night for these guys.

started a fire. staff was kind

I recently visited (29/04/2022) and both the service as well as the food were terrible. The male server with glasses kept running around frantically like a headless chicken and almost bumped into several patrons. Granted it was a full house, however other servers were walking around and completing service, so I have no idea why this guy was running. We had the AYCE and the meats were completely bland and tasteless. Multiple times we were given dirty dishes (plates, cups, spoons), and the food was thrown on the tables without care by this same male server. We asked for straws for our drinks and and he threw unwrapped straws directly on the table. When we asked for new straws, the server rolled his eyes, grumbled and got us new straws - still grabbing the unwrapped straws with dirty hands. What is the point of taking Covid precautions when your server is going from table to table, cross contaminating dirty dishes with unwrapped straws? The dinner was just chaotic, unsanitary, and left much to be desired. - The male server with the dyed short blonde hair is the absolute WORST server. So rude and impatient. If you dont want to work at the job, then quit. Ive been going there for years with terrific service from the other servers. This specific server has ruined my experience, and Im rethinking ever going back. He is ruining the name of the business- just terrible! On the other hand the food is delicious!!

I love this place. I always come for K25 the spicy cold noodle dish without the broth (they have another dish with the cold broth). I love the side dishes (radish and seaweed) they go so well with this dish so much that Im always coming back! For some reason no other Korean resturant offfers it. Oh and their KBBQ AYCE meat is nicely marinated especially the pork!!

Delicious Korean food in Chinatown.

I have never had a bad experience going to Koreana and Ive been at least 10 times. I always bring my friends and family there. Great for everyone with different types of meals !

The food is quite good - especially the bulgogi. Service is extremely quick. A shame that the table burners could not be used, but definitely an easy way to fill your stomach.

The food was sooo good. We had korean spicy food, japanese food and sushis and we shared between the 4 of us. Teriyaki beef is a must.

Place is pretty dirty and poorly maintained. The food is okay.

One of the worst restaurants in Ottawa, waiters feel like they are forced to work there at gun point, food is mediocre at best, all you can eat Korean bbq uses the cheapest kind of meats, the bbq gas stove is so greasy like they ve never been washed. Carpet in the dining area is so greasy when you step in them it feels very sticky. Our table was also very sticky. bibimbap was almost tasteless, miso was salty way too salty. Strongly advise against going here. Arirang is a far superior choice!

Now I understand the negative reviews. Had the all you can eat bbq after 5years. Service, cleanliness are one star. Food is two but I am giving it three star because of the price. It s cheaper than gyubee but you will feel worth it at gyubee but not here. Will try the Korean house which looks newer and more well managed.

Great menu options and authentic food. The bibimbap served in a hot bowl is always amazing. The sushi and fish quality is my favorite in all of Ottawa. The fish portions/cuts for sushi and sashimi are very generously sized. I gave 4 stars because two times in the past I was left with a sore stomach, but despite this the food tastes so amazing that I keep returning. The service has been amazing, friendly, and attentive the times Ive visited since covid has started. But prior to this the service was hit or miss and would sometimes be cold or unavailable.

Ordered the all you can eat lunch. You get so much food for the price you pay and everything is amazing! The marinated beef was by far our favourite. Worth a visit for sure!

I tried option K25 (a cold noodle dish) and was expecting it to be much better. I got the spicy option and it wasnt spicy at all, as well there wasnt even enough of the spicy sauce to mix my noodles (they give you one little solo cup mixed with a veg, so theres nothing in there). Hopefully the soup option will be better. My noodles were dry and very clumped together even after mixing the spoonful of sauce they gave me

It tasted like a non-Korean person cooking Korean food. If you are very hungry, there is an all you can eat option.

Got the all you can eat dinner.

The food taste is average. Its not bad, and overall its okay. And the table we sat at was the worst table position Ive ever been to in a restaurant. There are steps above the table and dust falls on the food. It feels like the servers are having customers go up and down the stairs and dirty things fall on the food. Its the worst. If an important customer comes to your restaurant, please make sure to have them sit in the seat I was given and have a meal again. I also dont understand the employee who asked me to move, but said he couldnt do so due to social distancing due to COVID-19. People were already sitting in the restaurant without social distancing. I just felt like they were bothering me to get the job done quickly.

Dont order pork cutlet. You will taste the spoiled oil.

Tables are sticky with layers of grease and old food around the heater controls. Bits of bone in the pork stew.

Had a bad experience

I used to love this spot but I feel like the quality has dropped since before the pandemic. The pork was still pretty good but I can no longer recommend the beef, poor quality meat and no flavour.

Being Korean and having dinner at this restaurant made me feel embarrassed that this was a representation of our food. Everything was marinated with salt and LOTS of black pepper. Theres was minimal sauce to give each dish their proper taste. Korean BBQ with no Kalbi? Unheard of but ok if this was a way to cut cost. At least make the bulgogi flavourful . Service was ok. Probably the only reason why they would get 1 star. Ordered japchae and was given microwaved soggy noodles drenched in black pepper. (Please google japchae before ordering so you know what it is supposed to contain) The server stated that when its order a la carte its ok, but because it was all you can eat it was toned down . What does that even mean? Because its all you can eat we got scraps? Anyway, other than that we like our meat well done. However the servers come by to turn off the butane stove often. It was ok. The you get what you paid for but leaves a lot to be desired. Got the combination platter BBQ and there were few shrimps. Service was decent too.

A friend and I had been wanting to try Korean food for the first time and we decided to go to Koreana this summer. Everything was delicious and we had good time. I tried the cold noodle, it was good (but just not for me) and my friend had Bibimbap which they very much enjoyed. Definitely going to come again, but next time for KBBQ!

Decent food for all you can eat. Options not too much but still ok. Preferred a bit more cleanliness. We have had cheaper all you can eat in a more maintained place.

Desperately needs a remodelling. If I see carpet in a restaurant, I get nervous!!! The food is however lovingly prepared and the restaurant has been damoly run for a number of years.

Very good Korean restaurant. Particularly the spicy chicken with vegetables (K3).

I can say that the meat portion is amazing!! The taste of all the meat is great!! Compare to other Korean restaurant (all you can eat) they are more cheaper but they dont have free lettuce on the side. You need to pay for it. Which is other restaurant offer for free. But overall the experience is great!!

The worst place I ve ever been. Greasy table, all you can eat doesn t have a lot of options. All meats are too sweet and salty, miso soup tastes bad. Waiter was rude, would never come back again

The food was AWFUL - almost inedible. Everything had a greasy taste. The meat was tough and everything was slapped together. The only good thing is that the food was pretty inexpensive, so I didn t feel bad throwing it out. Do not go there.

The service from the waiters was great. Super friendly, super fast. But the quality of food has gone done tremendously. This used to be a spot that my friends and I go quite a lot. The quality of marinade and meats has gone down (too salty, or too bland), kim-chi and side dishes would taste off/taste like expired food. Some of the dishes there, if you eat AYCE, are served cold as well. Ive came here multiple times this year to support local restaurants and see if they got better, but the bad food quality remains the same.

We had a great time. Meat was fresh and delicious. The korean sides were yummy. The service was really kind and quick. Only downside was that they did not have any imported beer at the time we were there. No problem! We will be back regardless.

Such a disappointing experience! Service was bad and attitude was even worse. We decided to do all you can eat , but after we got our first order, we never got any more food again despite writing down what we wanted on the paper as requested, we ask the waiter three times, once the waiter promised to bring our order out, they just left us there sitting and waiting, without giving us any explanation. After waiting for a long time, we gave up. We went downstairs to pay. We mentioned to the lady (looks like the owner) that they are so busy that they can t keep up with the orders? She, to our surprise, told us that nobody can keep up with the orders, she herself can t keep up with the orders. Then we suggested that they shouldn t be offering all you can eat to the customers. I shared our experience with her, then her reaction and attitude were just awful. She didn t explain or apologize, but thinking that they didn t provide us the food that we paid for is not their fault and we should take it for granted? How can you do all you can eat when the restaurant doesn t give you food to eat?! all you can eat ? Such a sarcastic lie to customers. I ll definitely never come back here again. If you are going to this place, please be prepared this is going to happen I m from Asia, this is the weirdest BBQ I ve ever had . They just tossed all the meat (chicken and beef) onto the pan? That s .. BBQ? It s more like doing stir fry meat except that you are not doing it at home so so so disappointing .

10/10 for food prep 7/10 for Atmosphere . Suggestion: remove old tables

Great bbq joint that also serves sushi, though I do wish the stone bowls get hotter and made a crispy rice layer.

We loved it! So much fun, friendly waitstaff and delicious fresh food. I will definitely be bringing back all my friend and family.

Worst place ever, If i could put 0 stars i would. We got ask if we had touch one of food items and says no. Then, they took it turn around and gave it to another table. Its really disgusting, and i cant stop thinking if what i got on my table came from another one. That is 0 sanitary anytime, but even worst in the middle of a pandamic.

Place looks a little outdated and the tables burners aren t even being used they have the portable propane burners on top . But the food is TOP NOTCH minus the bibimbap (it s missing beef order some to add in)

I would not recommend coming to this place if you are looking for good service and tasty food. We had ordered the all you can eat bbq as well as regular menu items and this Korean restaurant is the worst Ive tried. The all you can eat menu is so limited and all the meat tasted the same. I especially didnt like how the server just took all three meats that we ordered and threw it right onto the grill. The sashimi is low grade, sushi rice falls apart and is bland. The servers never smile and I felt like I was rushed to cook all my food.

Bad food quality. Suffocation!!! you can t breath and no ventilation. Left the place and wasn t pleased with anything except the bibimbap. And my cloths became garbage, they stink with very HARSH smell that s not going away.

Had a great time with my large group of 12+ for lunch time all you can eat bbq. Everyone mixed ethnicity all loved it. Lots of varied side dishes found not at any other Korean restaurants I know of in Ottawa. Planning a second group visit!

I m in the top 10% of Google Restaurant Reviewers! So let s keep this up. For my Google Review: Nov 12, 2021 - My birthday. My parents said they would take me for dinner if I didn t have any other plans. And I didn t. They noted that every year I m always suggesting Korean food and we haven t done it yet. So I Googled and picked the restaurant that had the best reviews - Koreana. It turned out to be lots of fun. It seems to be a pretty old restaurant, so it s got a cosy feel. And there s a photo of Pierre Trudeau eating there. So I guess it has been there a while. You can order out a card, or all you can eat. So we got the all you can eat. My dad was starting to write down choices but then I said let s just get one of everything and see what we like. It was all delicious. And you get to cook the meats yourself at the table. My dad said he s walked past here many times and he wishes he had come in sooner. My parents were both very pleased to have discovered a fun new place. We ve eaten at the Yangtze restaurant across the street dozens of times. But my parents now can t wait to come back here. They said they have a friend coming to town next month and we should take him here. As we walked past Yangtze to the car, I joked that the Yangtze staff was looking out the window, going hey, why aren t they in here?! But don t worry, we have lots of food love to spread around.

Bad Sushi

Fantastic food! 4 stars instead of 5 due to the service being a bit slow and our order not being completed. We requested sushi multiple times and never came. The place does get quite Smokey. My eyes were hurting by the time I left.

This is not a korean restaurant anymore, seems like its bought out by Chinese people.. so dont expect legit korean bbq here. Too disappointing. Better stay away from here if you want to dine in somewhere clean and hygienic (we saw a rochi crawling on the wall right next to our table)

Adorable, friendly, delicious. This place has a fantastic all you can eat Korean bbq offer. With great appetizers to choose from and different meats to grill and bowls like Bibimbap. Will definitely go back there!

Over priced with small sushi/sashimi portions. Poor service, they splashed sauce on my friend s white top and did little to make up for their screw up. They didn t discount her meal or offer a complementary dish or drink, or dry cleaning bill . What a lame restaurant, never going back to it again.
