The shawarma was good but not excellent. Very small wraps with basic pita bread … should be three dollars cheaper in my opinion. Also a messy place to eat inside where the tables are not cleared fast enough… they are busy ! Lady at the register was friendly. PS don’t understand the garlic potatoes. $7.50 for potatoes… smh
I recently ordered from Shawarma Palace on Rideau Street, and I must say, it was a huge disappointment. I ordered a chicken wrap and a plate with garlic potatoes, but they completely messed up my order by giving me someone else’s beef wrap. To make things worse, they forgot to include the garlic potatoes that I specifically asked for. I also ordered a chicken plate with all the fixings, including garlic sauce and hummus. To my disbelief, they left out the garlic sauce, which is practically the heart and soul of any good shawarma plate. How does a shawarma place forget the garlic sauce? It’s beyond frustrating and shows a lack of attention to detail. What made the experience even worse was the attitude of the staff. The whole team seemed more interested in laughing and making jokes in their language than actually paying attention to the customers. It felt like they didn’t care at all about the fact that I was paying good money for this food. The lack of professionalism and care in both the food and service was extremely disappointing. Shawarma Palace, you really need to step up your game and start treating your customers with the respect they deserve. We’re not paying for your jokes and incompetence; we’re paying for good food and good service, which clearly wasn’t delivered. Definitely won’t be returning anytime soon.
Has the formula changed? Used to have memories with family and friends sharing this delicious meal but it doesn't hit the spot the same You still get the mountain of food, definitely share with a friend. But the best part, the garlic sauce and potatoes were bland! We used to make fun that we would smell of garlic for days afterwards, could barely notice it this time An OG classic in Ottawa

The food hits the spot the rice were great the meat was really juicy and tender and well cooked the pieces were bit large. The sauces were on point specially the spicy garlic the server was in little too hurry and wasn't asking for toppings and sauces.
This Shawarma Palace truly impressed me! The food was not only delicious but also served in generous portions. The service was decent, and what stood out the most was how it surpassed other Shawarma Palace locations I've tried. Highly recommend!
One of the best shawarmas I've had in Canada. Take into account that portions are huge. The Shawarma plate is for 2 people, for sure. They have a varied menu, with different options, including vegetarian. We all know shawarma places don't tend to be the prettiest places to take a seat and eat. I'm not going to say that this is a super nice restaurant, but it is totally fine to seat and eat there. The space is big, they have baby highchairs, and you can tell they have made a great effort to create a good atmosphere, and maintain a clean space. Better than many fast food restaurants. The service was excellent, they all are super nice. They also have a parking space which is a great plus.
Shawarma here is absolutely top notch in terms of flavour and quality. Plates are $20+ but the portions are gigantic (you can easily share one plate between two people). Pita comes on the side as well in case you need to fill up on extra carbs. Extremely clean interior - it was very pleasant to dine in. Food is served quickly. Great spot for a quick bite especially if you are craving Shawarma. Note: It may be a bit harder to park (only street parking) due to its location.
I had beef sandwich and they put a lot of meet so I thought I would like it. But it was off balanced and the overall sauce was plain.

Awful. Ordered from uber eats. I requested no tahini. I also asked for veggies, extra tomato, paid for tabouli. Asked for hummus. These DUMMIES gave me a plate of chicken with rice. Thats it. No hummus. No veggies. No tabouli. I called them. They hung up on me. Said they suck at delivery. No apology. No nothing. Brutal food. Tasted like garbage. And it was cold. Paid 40 dollars for this trash

Unfriendly staff. Stood there 15mins while the staff at the counter fulfilled mobile orders and didn t acknowledge my being there. Took 30mins to get my food and it was MID. How do you give me potatoes with no garlic?! Would not recommend.

Im done with this place. They have really good chicken and garlic sauce, but everytime we order take out, something is missing from the order. It feels like theyre doing it on purpose at this point.

The new guy at front should be trained before taking orders. He forgot to ask me what I wanted for my sandwich and told his colleague all dressed. I have been visiting this place for years and thanks god I have my first all dressed sandwich tonight. This is not the first time staffs being absent-minded behind counter and forgot what customers want.

The most consistent shawarma branch in Ottawa, with usually decent tasting shawarma compared to other branches. Meat and potatoes are well seasoned and tasty. However, the quality of food for what you get will never match a local shawarma restaurant.

Worst place ever, I stood 30 minutes to pick up an order. The staff didn t even bother to ask what are you waiting for? Seriously they didn t even notice that someone is standing for too long. Never recommend this store.
The food was okay, maybe it could have been better if the service was decent at all. The interaction with me and my family was simply different compared to the interaction with people of the same background as the people who worked in the restaurant, I will not get specific about demographics but that s all it was about. I believe in treating everyone with respect no matter where they might be from.
The service and atmosphere were the very worst. This was my first time trying shawarma here in Ottawa after learning that Ottawa is the shawarma capital of the world. They definitely and absolutely ruined it for me. Very bad experience.

Amazing food. Excellent service. We stopped in out way from Toronto and we got the shawarma plates: chicken and beef. Meat was juicy, potatoes crispy, salad fresh and the hummus and garlic sauce sooo yummy!

1 star for food, dry chicken shawarma, too much sauce on chicken wings and somewhat unfresh chicken taste. Grape wraps (called dolma in Armenia or Azerbaijan) were so sour, we couldnt finish them.

They charged me extra for garlic sauce when I ordered a large shawarma poutine. I usually get it for free from the other branches.
Great food, it was fresh and tasty and the portions were very generous, but the place lacked in customer service the employees could be a little more open and friendlier, the ordering process was a bit different you have to order your food first and then proceed to the cashier to pay, An update of the interior would also make it more appealing and comfortable.

The best shawarma ever!!! I would totally recommend the drive from Toronto to Ottawa for this! The service was excellent as well as the food. I got the mixed chicken and beef platter which was good for two people.

A lot of good guys and a lot of good food
Lets face it. When you want a Shawarma, the meat either makes it, or breaks it. After eating here three times, the chicken is always dry. I LOVE the garlic sauce, but even that didnt save this place for me. Also, the service is slow, and the last time I was there, some rude customer was talking over me, and standing in my way while I was trying to customize my order, and the person making my meal didnt admonish him. I think Ill move on to the shawarma place up the street and see how they compare. Edit 08/04/2024 : They must have changed owners. I asked for extra turnips. (See picture). The service was horrible. The person making it wasnt listening to me. The cashier was unfriendly. The garlic sauce was flavourless. Never going back.

I always used to get my mixed shawerma dish for $24 and some with taxes included (+ tip) So the last time I come home as usual, I take my meal and I am surprised at the cash register with a price of $27 without taxes! When I asked the reason (since it still displays the old price) they told me that they increased their prices so ok thats correct To my greatest surprise my friend went precisely the next day and I had warned her that they were changing the prices without mentioning it She showed me the receipt that she had to pay with the old price and when she asked the question they said we havent changed the prices maam look on the menu So for me its a scam I will never set foot there again, nor will my friend Ps: I am a loyal customer I go there at least 3 times a week There were a few times when their meat dishes werent good. Or when its rush they often reduce the quantity when there are many customers without reducing prices
This was my go to place in Ottawa for shawarma back in the day, I cant tell you how good it was, I use to long for it when I was away from Ottawa but I just tried it the other day and it was as tasteless as food can get... The palace is no longer what it used to be.

Ordered a shawarma sandwich today at the st. Laurent location - which is not showing up on Google, hence leaving a review under the main location. The cashier handled my change and then wrapped up the sandwich, touching the pita, after removing it from the grill. I will also be flagging this blatant disregard for food hygiene to public health in an effort to protect our community. Very disgusted and disappointed, I would avoid at all costs and patron one of the other restaurants in the mall.
One of the staple lebanese restaurants in ottawa for as long i can remember, in fact i went to school with the daughter of the founder/owner when he opened it for the first time on rideau street (god rest his soul). I dont think even he could have envisioned it to be this much of a success story 30 years later. Ottawa is known for shawarmas and Shawarma palace is known for the best of the best .. Enough said Vegetarian options: Many salads including tabooleh,fattoush, along with hummus and pita or delicious flafel sandwiches.

I had a shish kabab but it was not as good as I expected from such a place. The meat wasnt good at all, you have to keep on chewing for a long time to be able to swallow it!!! The shawarma was acceptable Food : 2/5

I love this place and anytime I travel to Ottawa, I come to this location only. The people are usually super friendly and accommodating but today was different. The younger guy (tall), never seen him here before, forgot to put sauces on my shawarma. He got super flustered and rude about it and stated he cannot open it so he wants to put it on the side. I told him I didn t want that and asked for him to put it in the food. He aggressively ripped the sharwarma open and flooding it with sauces. Then because he ripped it, he couldn t re-wrap it, he wrapped another pita over. In addition burnt it.
I got the chicken shawarma plate which comes with hummus and they tried to charge me extra to get it on the side instead of all over the rest of my food. Then they gave me half the regular amount of chicken the food is good but why should I have to pay extra for something Im already paying for with my meal.

I loved the chicken shawarma plate. It was full of salad and pickles sides and rice. I just loved it. We also had kebabs and BBQ chicken. Food and people are wonderful. Recomended place.

Authentic levantine shawarma. Rare to find these in Canada, as most places serve mediocre shawarma and fill it with veggies and sauces. The chicken shawarma tasted great, and so did the shish kabab and falafel. Service was a bit slow, but nothing major. Worth the trip and the pricing was reasonable. Would recommend it and would definitely come back Vegetarian options: Falafel. Dietary restrictions: Halal.

Ordered chicken shawarma wraps. Food is delicious, but for some reason is served with double wrapped paper, meaning the paper disintegrates with the sauce and youre stuck eating it off a plate anyways.

20 years ago I lived and worked in Ottawa. There was this small hole in the wall in Centretown that I would visit for my shawarma fix. I would later move but when I came back a couple years later I found he was gone. Fast forward to June 1 2024. Craving a chicken shawarma, I searched for best shawarma in Ottawa and I found this place. Ive never been to Shawarma Palace in my life. I dont know if its a chain, but this was the best chicken shawarma Ive had since I lived here. Everything from the flavours, to the sauces, to the garlic potatoes. Everything in my opinion was perfect. The staff were very inviting, very friendly. The place was very clean and welcoming. Definitely a place we will return to when were back in Ottawa.
Ive been going to Shawarma Palace since I was around 10 years old. 22 years later, its still my go-to Shawarma spot. Its as OG as it gets.

I understand that it s a popular place to eat but they always forget my pickup order. I usually order pickup around 20 mins or 30 mins before I go, but every time they let me know that I still have to wait for extra 20-30mins.Sucks

Mixed schawarma platter is amazing for take out. They have great meats, garlic sauce, fries, and tabouli. Four stars were given because their falafel was not great and tasted strongly of the oil it was fried in. Portions are great sizes for family and sharing.
Authentic and amazing. I ve had many platters in my time in Canada but I believe that this might just be the tastiest and fulfilling one. For 25$ one serving is easily a two time meal. Must try! Parking: Right beside it, plenty spots!

Finally returned to this gem. Had my first ever shawarma here in 2004 and today I took my wife and step son to shawarma palace for the best shawarma we have ever had. We have shawarma here in cornwall but it doesnt compare. had the mixed shawarma sandwich with everything and I honestly think you cant go wrong. And those potatoes with garlic had me in heaven the entire ride home. Glad to see they keep the quality and friendly atmosphere here.
