The portions were really generous. However, when food cost $25 ish, I don’t expect my food to be microwaved in front of me, that defeats the purpose of a restaurant.
I recently visited this place with my family, including young children, and was disappointed with the service we received at the counter. The lady attending to us was very uptight and did not smile at all. Whenever we asked for more cutlery or tissues, she seemed unhappy about it, which made us feel quite uncomfortable. Her behavior was not friendly or welcoming. Food was average, nothing great
A must-try for tasty Shawarma meals !!!! it serves up some incredibly flavorful dishes that really hit the spot. The menu isn’t huge, but everything on it tastes amazing. Plus, the staff are super friendly and make you feel right at home. Definitely worth a visit for a tasty shawarma meal.
Love my local shawarma spot. The food is always fresh and flavorful, the service is very friendly and the price is right. Whether for lunch, dinner or a late night snack, this has become my go to. The shawarma plate in particular is delicious and great value. Thanks!

I’m convinced their beef shawarma is a practical joke. The texture and taste is more similar to very thick slices of donair but tastes like so so bad. Like why does it look like that. Won’t be back.
We found this place while looking for a wholesome option for lunch. We were not disappointed. Thr portions were generous. We ordered a large but struggled to finish it. It was loaded with chicken and veggies. Service was quick. The shawarma sandwich could have used more garlic sauce but we were provided extra at no additional charge.
Nice shawarma in this location. I will recommend that you try it when you are in Ottawa or if you live here. Nice star here too. Very friendly and accommodation.
Chicken was dry and tomatoes were mushy do not recommend, waste of 13$ tbh.

The quality of the ingredients and the fineness of the seasonings were truly remarkable. The service was equally remarkable. The staff were incredibly warm, attentive and welcoming. Regarding the prices, I find that they are completely reasonable considering the quality of the dishes and the service offered. I highly recommend it

The worst shawarma Ive ever tried, I dont know if its even safe to eat that, I dont if these guys ever heard of (food safety) the food was not fresh and the shawrma were reserved almost at the room temperature, the woman treatment was not the best and I asked her for a spoon she said we dont have spoons and she gave me a knife, how am I supposed to eat the rice in my dish with that, I just left the restaurant I ate part of the food and I hope nothing will happen to me.

How have I not reviewed my favourite shawarma place in the whole, wide world? 6 stars! I have eaten here since 1993. With just a few small tables along one side of a narrow restaurant, the dine-in experience is all about the food. I have come to appreciate amazing homemade garlic sauce, tabouli made by the owner and some of the best beet-pickled turnip ever. I will continue to drop by for (mostly) chicken platters as long as Im able and continue to be happy to pick them up for friends. There are plenty of okay-to-good shawarma spots in Ottawa, but this one will always be my favourite! Dietary restrictions: I switched to lower carb eating about three years ago and they didnt miss a beat. I now get a side of roast cauliflower and eggplant and sometimes a falafel.
Full disclosure - Ive never met a falafel I havent loved...but this one was exceptionally good. Thanks for being the highlight of my day!

Excellent donair meat! The lady that served me was kind enough to add garlic and hummus to my donair at no cost. Definitely a great spot to go for a quick takeaway lunch when you re in a rush!
Pricey for the size of it, and have had better than this one, the meat was not so tender and was full of potatoes rather...one can rather skip it

Good shawarma (chicken was fantastic), hot and fresh. Very friendly. There are some really special photos of Beirut and Lebanon on the walls; it makes for a great atmosphere. Kid-friendliness: Happy staff, willing to make substitutions. Good selection of kid friendly drinks.

If youre looking for the shawarma palace that is listed on the best shawarma in the world lists. This isnt it. They added the to the name to trick you.
I visited this place when I was in Ottawa for job interview. I was hungry and didnt care much about where I eat. I went here for a quick byte and found my takeout was stale and very dry. I also understand that in the pandemic it can happen so I can give this place benefit of the doubt, 3-star because I couldnt eat the food and had to go to a timhortons :( Staff was good and prompt though. I am due to visit Ottawa again for work and im thinking about trying this palce again. I will bring the dryness up with the folks this time (last time I drove away and didnt want to go back to a long lineup). I read all the good reviews so I hope my experience was a one-off case.
Sandwich was stale and dry and the pita crumbled in my hands, couldnt even finish it. Chicken was dry and fatty. What little garlic sauce there was, was oily and bland. Wont be eating here again.
Ive eaten there several times now and everytime I do its great service. As soon as they see me come in I am greeted with a smile and order is taken as fast as possible. Food is decent tasting and they always provide plenty of garlic which I love! As far as the price is concerned it is reasonable for the amount of food you get.
He did not wear a mask or gloves while preparing food. He had an antivaxxer poster on the wall. We ended up donating the shawarmas to homeless people that got vaccinated in priority.
Decent place, and kind service, but please give bigger portions. Ive noticed the portions served getting smaller the past few years, even after being a customer for many years, and its not keeping up with other shawarma places. Sometimes, when certain people are serving, I dont even bother entering anymore, because they have a history of not giving big enough portions. Getting lots of toppings and full containers is part of the shawarma magic. You can do it, guys, I believe in you!
I ordered a beef donair sandwich and it was appalling how disgusting it was. Potatoes had no flavor and garlic sauce was low quality. 100% do not recommend.

Excellent falafel, very flavourful and a good texture! Super impressed by all of the food, it s really tasty. The Dolmas are 10/10 - delicious! I don t love that the falafel and potatoes are microwaved - would love to see them fried in oil, or something. Otherwise everything is *chefs kiss*

Amazing food, taste is pure! Prepared with care and followed the request to the perfection. I requested the doner & Shawarma sandwich to be spicy and received just as asked for. Perfect amount of the meat to enjoy every bite, amazingly balanced with vegies and sauces. A truly pleasure in each bites! Quantity wise just as described. Ordered large sandwiches and received a huge sandwich, no playing with words like most restaurants. Am in visite in Ottawa from Montreal, and will definitely come back for food trip to the capital. Few others food businesses entrepreneurs like Shawarma palace have impressed me today! A must to try!

I used to eat at The Shawarma Place about 3 times a week but stopped after I found healthier alternatives. Since everything else was closed this evening, I decided to try them again. Sadly, the person working there this evening was unhygienic in preparing my food. When I arrived, he was texting on his cell phone and he didnt even bother washing his hands before preparing my chicken sandwich. He also took my cash and touched the cash register in the middle of it. I live close by but I wont be going there again.
Stopped in last night for some random shwarma before heading home and both of us that got it were pleasantly surprised. I see people complaining of it being pricey?? It was normally priced, if not less than what I am used for the amount we got.Food was great, service was fast and super friendly.

Delicious...Clean...Kind service...Healthy...Fresh...Very modestly priced...small family business for decades...air fresh inside...even with air conditioning wonderful temperature not freezing but refreshing...varied menu..for all...Vegetarian or not!!!!Love this spot! I had a eggplant wrap with tabouleh, hummus, tahini, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickled radishes filling at $6.50 taxes included....and loved every bite!

The shawarma was dry, pita was of low quality and garlic sauce tastes of raw garlic. The restaurant however is clean and cheap. Also, our potatoes were microwaved infront of our eyes.
This is absolutely the most disgusting food Ive ever had in my life. Instead of ordering from Shawarma palace I ordered from this nightmare. The salad was almost yellow chopped iceburg lettuce. Garlic Sauce was just mayonnaise, yummy! The Potatos were dry but the most edible part. The Tomatos smelled of mould, but were so chopped up I couldnt find blue or green bits. I believe this business solely survives off 2am drunk teens. Avoid avoid avoid!

This place used to be great. The sandwich I just got was the most disappointing shawarma Ive ever had. The sandwich is cold, the chicken is cold, tough and dry, they forgot pickles and only placed 2 pieces of turnip on it, there is about half a teaspoon of garlic sauce despite asking for a lot, the not-very-fresh vegetables are pouring out meanwhile the chicken makes a rare appearance. The garlic sauce is runny and flavorless, the potatoes are oily with poor flavoring. I just cant believe how bad the whole meal was. The can of ginger ale was the best part. Definitely head up to Rideau instead of eating here.
Was a little pricier than most im the city and definitely not as good quality. Moved to this side of downtown and trying to find a decent shawarma place, this one microwaved my side of potatoes.. very dry with no flavour. The sandwich was cold, barely grilled and the pita tasted old. Really disappointed.
