Chipotle Mexican Grill in Ottawa

The food is okay not amazing but the staff is rude. I went there yesterday evening and there was a girl with a tattoo on her arm (I know her name but don t wanna write it publicly). She was serving me and she was very rude. She did not change the gloves when making my order. I ordered veggie bowl and asked her half n half rice she added white mostly I had to ask her to add more later. The portion was okayish. Other Chipotle locations have bigger portions and she was rude. She had no customer service skills. I just told her I don t want sour cream and her reply as well as the body language was the most rude ones ever. Won t return back.

Tuesday 22nd of October in the afternoon.. I love Chipotle, but this is the worst one Ive ever been! Portion is literally very little compared to other chipotle Ive been! Bowl is literally half of what I normally get! Lack of respect and loyalty to customers If I can give 0 star I would .. cant disrespect the quality of this brand

Truly overrated in my opinion, I ve been said that this place was one of the best fast-food chains there was but after going and trying it for myself I was left with a taste of disappointment and boredom, the food was bland and expensive for what it is in my opinion, and I was expecting a better ration of meat over rice and topping. In the end I would recommend 100% more the chain Poulet Rouge as its best counter part in that type of fast food. At least the employee were fast and respectful something I don t see every day.

Besides being salty af, the flavor was decent, as usual. The wrap wasnt preheated enough, so was hard in certain spots. Service was good enough, though they really need to learn how to wrap without breaking the wraps. Youd think thatd be a prerequisite. Though the mediocre preheating prob contributed to that. Its fast food, but the wait was ridiculous, being in a mall. What u gonna do? Id still go back if I had limited options.

Old food, dirty, slow workers and get ready for a stomach ache

Was quite disappointed ordered the new brisket bowl and chips and queso . Was given almost no rice and I kid you not I counted 6 pieces of brisket and the chips were extremely salty it was inedible I told myself maybe it s a few so I tried so in the middle just all salty had to throw it out couldn t go back because it was a lunch break but so so salty . Just an overall disappointing experience .

3 small tacos with guacamole 19$,this is not the issue. The main problem i looked after i placed my order at the kitchen grill and floor and tables ,are so disgusting dirty.What a shame

First and last time eating at Chipotle. Quality and price not worth it. Rubbery chicken and lack of flavour on rest of items on my bowl was overall disappointing. Wait time to order was the only good thing.

Excuse me workers of Chipotle Rideau. I was very hungry and after a long day of hard work I and got on the train to enjoy some chipotle and i climb all the way up the stairs just to find the location closed at 9:30 when your posted hours say 10pm. i was very extremely disappointed. I feel i have been catfished. This is very cruel and I will not be returning.

The food is very salty

Generally its good, but the portion size varies too wildly. Some days you get a great amount, and some days your bowl is half empty. They need to standardize the portion sizes. Restaurant is somewhat clean. Tables often have food debris on them and sometimes homeless people come in to steal hot sauce. Gets very busy at lunch and they sometimes run out of items and you have to change your order or wait. Parking: No parking outside. You would have to park in the malls paid multi story parking lot and walk through the mall.

Called 4 times about ordering some catering and was told each time to call back at a specific time which I did and was still continuously told to call back. Finally on the last call I spoke with the manager and he took my order apologized and ensured it would be ready for us at 4:30pm the next day. Due to traffic/an accident we ended up being 20 minutes late to pick it up. When going up to the cash register I told the worker my name and he went to ask another guy where my order was just for him to replied oh no (he didn t actually say no he said the f word but don t want this taken down). We were then told a manager would come speak to us. The manager never came and after already being there for 15 minutes the worker said it would still be another 10 minutes until it was ready. This was now already well over half an hour past when the order should ve been ready and we had somewhere to be so we ended up having to cancel the order and were left with no dinner. The most disorganized place I ve ever had to deal with I do not recommend.

Food is consistently 10/10. Affordable, healthy and delicious. However, staff have to be kindly asked to provide reasonable portions.

i had a order of 20$ that i got completely wrong.my bowl was supposed had tomato s, veggies, guac beans and steak in it which is not all what i got. i was supposed to get chicken, extra corn extra sour cream and cheese that s it and now not only did i juste waste 20$ im stuck with a bowl with things that i don t even eat.

They Have Brished off grill, Have lot of dirt. Employee who served was very slow and made everyone waiting and also when I ordered I saw her usint last piece of each container and not have everything prepared or even care about getting new container. Asked gor washroom, They stated its only for Employees. I Never had such horrible experience at chiptole than this location before. Chiptole As frachise should look intto this matter as I think Managers and Employees running this place as they please themself. No customer Centric Location. Also Fajitas had Greece in them. Very unhealthy, will be reporting to food and safety soon. They should also change their grill.

Ive went over the border to Watertown a couple times and get the same bowl with chicken, gauc and the sauce it came to $18 CAD after conversion and everything. My bowl is MASSIVE, I could split it into two portions always. I came here today for lunch and paid $19 CAD, I got one scoop of rice and one scoop of everything else. Not the same at all, very disappointing!!!!!! I am sure there is a food standard that corporate provides for all franchises that must be followed. This chipotle should follow the same. Will not be returning until this gets resolved.

they did not accommodate to my celiac and wheat allergy. every time i have come before they take ingredients from the back for me because i can t have my food be contaminated. the guy said there was nothing in the back and that since there is a rush he won t do it . it would have taken him 4. seconds extra to take it from the back like every other employee has done for me before so rude and did not consider allergies and for that 1/5.

I go there on a regular basis for lunch, at least 3-4 times a week. As a regular customer I always get the worst service and treatment from the people working there.

So this middle aged white lady store manager or shift supervisor in winter 2023 tells my food courier that they have to wait for the food to be made after walk-in customers (who have walked in after I placed my order and AFTER my courier arrived) because they are already there and facing the staff. In what reality does this make sense or is rude? My courier - my representative by proxy is there witnessing all this happening and reporting this to me in real time. How is this any different than if I were to be there ordering in person and being served after someone who came in after me? Her tone was apparently also extremely condescending and self righteous. The level of sophistication and basic cultivation of YT folk is drastically deteriorating these days.

It s mostly fat and you don t get a lot of meat and the chips were hard as a rock , btw your service is bad it has been more that 50 minutes that I ve been trying to talk to you guysand when I get to talk to an agent you guys keep re-adding pepper because the agent constantly leaves

Loved it ! Great service..got the chicken bowl and a steak bowl, chicken quesadilla and a barbacoa quesadilla the second day..chicken bowl was amazing.. the steak was very chewy ..I didnt like it very much..but thats just me..the chicken quesadilla was great too.. I had to get the barbacoa cause there was some issue with the grill or something so they didnt have anything else.. I didnt like it too much but maybe because I prefer the chicken better.. over all loved it.. Chipotle..open one in Halifax !

I would rate this place 0 stars if I could. The store features an assembly line of ruder, incompetent works. They are rushing you down the toppings line and putting already putting on your sour cream before you could say no. They do not drain the beans or the pico and instead just slab it on the bowl. Yes, my order was ruined. After customers leave, the workers just gossip and talk about the customers - it is disgusting. One of the workers had glasses that was at the first station. I am absolutely shocked that this franchise is still surviving with the lack of training the staff has - the store is lucky to be at the center of the city otherwise, it would already have been shut down. The worst experience Ive ever had.

Consistent good

As far as burrito places go, a place without any sauce options to add to your burrito besides salsa, guacamole, and queso is pretty abysmal. Additionally, unlike every other burrito restaurant, Chipotle uses dark meat chicken. A great idea in theory, if you take the time to properly clean the meat before cooking. Which, of course, they do not. This is completely reasonable as it is a fast food restaurant, but unrendered fat pockets, tendons, and cartilage is never what I want in my burrito, personally. It made for a truly unpleasant experience. Unfortunately, not worth returning for me.

Chips were insanely stale

I felt some subtle discrimination on my last visit to Rideau Center Chipotle on Friday August 16, 2024. A young Caucasian couple was ahead of me in the line. I ordered the exact burrito that they ordered. In the middle of preparing mine, a different [caucasian] lady came and took over. Everything she took up she deliberately shook almost totally off the spoons before putting on my burrito. I asked Well how come the two previously made burritos were both literally twice the size of mine? With a sarcastic tone arrogant smirk, a different [caucasian] lady stepped forward and said, Well thats because we have new hires and were still teaching them the portion sizes. I felt discriminated against, having to pay the same money for a product/service half the portion size of what others just before me received. Although the food there is not bad, I thought of whether or not I should patronize that place ever again, or just leave that staff to their subtle but sarcastic discriminatory behaviour.

With this chipotle being the only location in all of Ottawa, they really need to do better. Almost every time I went there, they are always out of something. Its also located in downtown and it takes time to get there. Please do better with food availability.

Its good... ITS NOT MEXICAN FOOD THIS IS A SNACK. Unfortunately the portions are sometimes very poor (pichicatos) and this detracts from the product 8 out of 10.

Chipotle is one of my favorite restaurants. I visited Ottawa recently and dropped by the Chipotle restaurant in the Rideau shopping mall. I ordered a couple of burritos and one side for takeout. Two veggie ones. There was only enough tofu for one of the two burritos so the young lady scrapped the bottom of the dish and put it. She offered to put grilled veggies for the second one. Before leaving, I checked the bag and they forgot to put the side salsa I ordered. Once I got that, brought it home to add to family dinner. It was unanimous at the table that the salt was off the charts in the tofu one especially. The veggie one was a little less but still more than any other time we have eaten at the Chipotle in USA when we visited. The chips were also unevenly salted. From nothing on some to a lot on others. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and contacted customer service. I told them about this and because the bill was over 30$ for this visit that was just not up to par, I asked if they can make up for it. Their offer was a buy one get one free coupon...like ones you find in newspapers or online promotions for the general public. And they said I have 30 days only to use it. We dont have a Chipotle in my area but would be in a city where they have one later this summer. They said they could not accommodate. That too me was unacceptable as a longtime customer. I was so disappointed that such a large chain restaurant is totally unable to find a respectable way to make up for a bad experience. If I was the President of Chipotle, I would have a policy of offering the equivalent or additional coupon or compensation to make up for such a thing and value loyalty of customers in an industry that has so much competition. Very disappointed in my experience this time with such a big brand. Update: The owner responded on this comment and asked to contact customer service. Kenneth at customer service said he cannot do better than the buy one get one free coupon. The type that you find in newspapers available to the general public. And nowhere near equivalent to what I spent. He said that offer is only good for 30 days. So upon giving Chipotle Canada a second chance to get this situation right, they disappointed yet again unfortunately. So owner of this location, asking me to contact customer service resulted in nothing but time wastage.

PAY ATTENTION to what they re charging you. I got a burrito and went to pay and she points at the machine for me to tap and it was over $18. When I questioned the total she said oh sorry and changed it to $14.75. If I had been in a hurry or not paying attention, I would have overpaid for nothing.

They have the stingiest workers possible. I recommend everyone to just walk out if they do not fill your bowl with a satisfactory portion.

Place can be hectic at times and a little dirty but the food is always excellent.

While chipotle is genuinely really tasty food, a good amount of variety to make your own personal bowl special. The only thing that s really sad is how the portions shrink with every visit. I really hope that they address this as I really want to go, but I m afraid I won t get my moneys worth.

I went in today and ordered a bowl with chicken. Usually the portions are good. Im not sure whats happening but the employees are skimping on the meat. They gave me 4 tiny pieces of chicken and didnt even fill the scoop like they normally do. I asked for a bit more because theres no way Im paying for a bowl that has virtually no meat? They proceeded to scoop up A SINGULAR PIECE OF CHICKEN and put it into my bowl and charged me for extra chicken. Why am I paying 4-5 dollars for a singular piece of chicken. Im not impressed. 1/5 stars.

Came from Montreal (2 h drive) just to try it here, but It was incredibly disappointing. First of all, they didn t have enough rice for 2 people. To add on to that they told us that they were going to grab more rice in the back. My wife and I both saw the rice but instead of giving it to the person serving us, they tossed it right in the trash. Then the person serving us told us that there was no rice. I want a refund because of this. I shouldn t be penalized for a mistake of someone else. (They also didn t even give us a discount because of this reason, which is absolutely ridiculous) Plus the website couldnt help me all the agents kept closing the chats. I want a refund.

I ordered from app to pick up. The person at the pick up counter told me she doesnt know my order and let me ask the cashier And the cashier even let me ask the pick up counter. Is this mean I should go to the kitchen to do it by myself? Is this the service I should get Ridiculous.

I went to the Chipotle at the Rideau Centre, at May 11 3:30 PM. Amazing staff. Portions were the best I have ever had, as I frequent Chipotles around the province. Steak was cooked perfectly. The line at first was very long, but I ended up being shocked by the efficiency and the fastness of the staff. Would gladly come again.

Portions sizes are terrible for the price. Service was good but there is so much competition that actually give you a fair portion size.

First time trying this restaurant at the Rideau centre. Had the chicken bowl which was loaded. Amazing flavours. I would recommend this place and will definitely return.

Faster service than any other restaurant in the mall, and thats saying something. On top of that, you can get big portion sizes for relatively cheap, and they have a wide drink selection. Probably the best place in the area to go for a cheap yet quality meal.

I am extremely sick. I was offered 2 free entrees but I don t know if I can trust this establishment now. I ordered beef burrito bowl and the entire bottom ayer of my bowl was pork. I ended up picking it all out and giving it to my co-worker for his noodles but my allergic reaction started and I couldn t finish my food. I don t know if I can ever go again, I m scared to be honest. I will admit this have never happened before. If it was 1 or 2 peices ok. But it was more than the other two nests in the bowl and hidden!! Now I m suffering and I can t stop vomitting. I added the picture of the pork that was in my burrito bowl .. i had to give it to my coworker so it wasn t wasted. I m so upset and I am in a lot of pain.

This place used to be great , now the food amount and quality just downgraded

Wow this place went to the drain in the last 3 years. Use to get 2 massive meals for 15$ now less cost 50$ and its not as fresh, not tasty, overly priced garbage. Im confused as to how theyre still in business knowing how Ottawa population is picky about the food. I give this business another year before bankruptcy.

Usually I love coming to this place but today I was extremely disappointed. They were barley stocked on most ingredients and were being extremely stingy on the portions, like giving half of what I normally receive. Employees were rude when I requested extra of things such as rice and lettuce which I never have to ask for extra of. When I asked for chips they were also very rude borderline yelling that they were out. Very displeased with this experience.in the photo is the amount of cheese given when I requested a normal amount.

I ve come here for the second time and was disappointed once again.They only put veggies on if you ask, they give you the smallest portions, and they don t give you any sauce. It s ridiculously expensive for something so small. I m not one to post reviews, but this place deserves it.

This particular Chipotle is actually great because of high traffic, you can always count on the ingredients being super fresh: theyre cooking and cutting non stop. The service is good, courteous and swift, and the place itself feels accommodating: huge windows, good lighting etc. Otherwise its a Chipotle.

Went there for lunch hour and grabbed a burrito. Everything was saugi, nothing seem fresh. Tasteless bean, bad chicken and rice was bad. Would not recommend. If you want a good burrito, go at Burrito Gringo on bronson. Food

The chicken burrito was the best around. Chips and queso were the best Ive had. very good portion size. Highly recommend if youre looking for quality food. Everything is prepared and cooked behind the counter. Very fresh. Its much better than precooked food being brought in . 5 stars all the way.

I absolutely loved their chicken rice bowl. I tried their spicy sauce with spicy chicken. It was delicious. Also, they have the amazing view.

So I wanna give five stars only to one worker. She left her task to quickly help me check out one item, chips and guacamole. I didn t want to line up in this massive line when I didn t even want a wrap or bowl. I was the annoying one and she chose to be kind. But as soon as she punches it in and I go to pay (it went through) her co-worker berates her (yells as her) on front of me for doing so. Firstly, why on earth do you treat your coworkers this way. Secondly, it makes an awkward situation for the costumer as they now have to sit there while someone kind gets in trouble with no way of helping out. Thirdly, it was my fault so the male worker should have scolded me if anyone. I was the one who bugged her! She should have been praised for going out of her way to help someone. I was carrying something heavy and was having to dash to transportation but chose this establishment. Just remember to praise the workers that work for you, management. She deserves an apology.

SO FAST TO GET FOOD. FOOD WAS AWESOME.

It was really delicious and there are vegan options. The service was only in English. Its like a Mexican bar, we have to order at the counter but there is a small dining room. Perfect place to eat well quickly, the portions are generous. Vegetarian options: There is a choice of legumes and also a plant-based tofu meat. The customer chooses what they want to add or not to their dish. Its very easy to eat well vegetarian or vegan Dietary restrictions: Possibility of eating a gluten-free dish. On the other hand, be careful of cross contamination. Dish on rice or salad

I had the chicken bowl and the hubby had the chicken tacos and a burrito to go. The burrito bowl was okay, although I wish they had more ingredients to chose from. The chicken tacos werent that great, sadly. And the burrito was much like the tacos. The restaurant was really packed by 6:30pm. It is connected to the Rideau Center, so there were a lot of teenagers hanging out at the tables that didnt seem to be there to order food. My main complain is that the wooden chairs at the table were super uncomfortable. It has metal rods that dig into your back that made it difficult to relax and enjoy the meal. They had a full staff working, but all the garbage bins were overflowing. No reservations necessary, its more like a fast food joint. You go up to the counter to order your food and pay, then choose a table. Vegetarian options: They dont have much selection. They have beans, lettuce, avacado, and a corn mash/chickpea mash Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible through the main entrance or by the Rideau mall

Chipotle is one of my fav restaurants and I have no idea what happened to this place post covid. The workers are SUPER STINGY with the toppings. I ordered a half chicken half steak bowl (which is my go-to) this guy had a scoop ready, saw it was too much, DROPPED a bunch, and then poured in my bowl. I asked is that it? They said this is the normal amount. Since when are the amounts less than half a scoop?! I asked for extra and they said it was an extra charge so I said that s fine, thinking they d give a full scoop. The 2nd scoop was even less than the first half scoop, and still paid THE EXTRA CHARGE! I m not confrontational and didn t want to cause a scene but come on! I know this restaurant will keep being profitable but damn why so stingy with the toppings?!

At times the people making ur dish are too stingy with the serving . U have to tell them to add more. Crowded most of the time because of the space. They are doing well being the only one in ottawa. They must move to a bigger location.

Cant go wrong here. My go to is the sofritas tuna burrito bowl. Super filling and good value. The lemonades are also delicious and you get free refills. Vegetarian options: Sofritas tofu

The food here is absolutely very delicious. I had their large Steak Barrito the size of the portion is just right to satisfy your hunger. The price though is a bit high. The atmosphere is little to be disired cause its Rideau street after all with way to many crazy people on Rideau street. Reason for only 2 stars is because the staff here when I wanted to take a photo of my food so I could make a review said I can not take a photo and were little rude. Food here is good but cause of the price of the food is a bit to high for what you get and how rude the staff were to me and how bad the atmosphere is here on Rideau street. I dont I think I will be returning.

The same famous Chipotle here in Ottawa. Food is really good as expected, whether you decide to take the bowl, burrito, or the tacos. This branch is crowded since the area is always busy, but the line and service are normally quick. The tables usually are not clean in all our visits if you decide to dine in.

My absolute favorite fast food place in Ottawa. Too bad there is only 1 Chipotle in the entire city. I have been eating here once or sometimes twice a week for the past 4 years, usually every Friday. The service and food have always been great, so great job to the management and the staff for keeping it going. I will continue to make my weekly trips here. I wish there were more locations, especially in the suburbs of Ottawa. But for now I really enjoy going to this location. Keep up the great work!

I love Chipotle . I wish I didnt have to travel that far to get it all the time. Ottawa is big, spread out, please.

Food is good. There is a lack of decent seating and its really busy. Hard to enjoy eating unless you take it to go.

I wait at the stop everyday and I only have 1$ so I asked what they had but they gave me free food. I loved it. The only problem is that there are drug addicts outside and they cant control that.

I just ordered 6 packs of chips etc from this restaurant for friends and the chips were old and soft. I called and all the manager could say was sorry. I would NEVER recommend this place to my worst enemy!! Shame on you guys!! Food : 1/5
