I liked the Shawarma I had here. They could have cleaned the tables off between customers though.

I m a bit skeptical when it comes to following restaurant reviews in Ottawa. I recently visited a shawarma restaurant with a 4.7 rating on Google and over 1,000 reviews, but I was truly disappointed with both the food and the slow service. However, at this shawarma spot, you ll find the best prices, and their beef is absolutely to die for! They deserve 10,000 stars

Had dinner there with a friend I havent seen for a couple of weeks. The next day we both became ill at exactly the same time. Caught some sort of virus. Either the worker who handled the food was sick, or the place is unsanitary!

Chicken is very dry, unfortunately. As for service, a good one, atmosphere is basic. Still, decent place to visit. As for price, more or less usual for surrounding areas.

Went in yesterday around 9:30pm. Food wasnt as good as I thought. Taste 2/5 Also after eating and leaving I got food poisoning all night and day today. I wouldnt recommend this place. The service was great and the staff were really friendly. Food

A dramatic decline in quality and increase in prices occurred at some point over the past couple of years - Extremely disappointing, particularly when many other shops around town are managing to keep it together.

I picked up a shawarma meal at 395 Bank St. and was extremely happy with the food and service. The shawarma was piping hot and fresh. The service was with a smile. I will be definitely going back. Highly recommend !

Most of the time I dont like reviews. But when it comes to safety. I cant fall. The restaurant needs to be cleaned and sanitized quickly because it has a lot of germs and all the food is poisoned from the dirt

Went there for the first time the other day and believe me wen i say this. It will be the last time. The restaurant is super dirty(all of the table, the chairs, the garbage bin, the floor, every ware you look. The 2guys working the night shift are super unfriendly. The icing on the cake are the bathroom. Never in my life I have seen discusting bathrooms like that. Do yourself a favor, avoid this place. Can only imagine what the back kitchen look like.

A Centretown staple for me, personally. Their sandwiches are always delicious and their garlic sauce is phenomenal. The staff is always extremely friendly and kind. I m vegetarian and eat the falafel sandwich, but my partner always has the chicken sandwich and always has positive words to share. Their baklava is the perfect ending to the meal as well. Prices are reasonable for the times - $16.99 (+ tax) for a small sandwich, garlic potatoes, baklava, and a canned drink was extremely filling!

Your friendly neighborhood shawarma. Kind workers who will take care of you and make your day. They work hard to make sure customers are comfortable and satisfied. Great vegetarian options, even their garlic sauce is vegan. My favourite is the falafel wrap but their roasted veg is great in a wrap too. Best use of 10$ in Centretown Vegetarian options: Everything can be vegan or vegetarian upon request.

I LOVE this place. My husband and I have never had Shawrma, so we came here for our first experience. It is absolutely yummy and satisfying, and no other Shawrma place has been as good as this one. The family is very nice, speaks French primarily, but the young people speak English as well.

The beef shawarma was super dry, chicken tasted weird and salad leaves a moldy taste. They should really work on their quality and hygiene or adjust their prices accordingly.

Paid like 55 dollars for something like Plate for 2 which totally doesn t worth it. It was literally like 70% lettuce and tomato and pickles the rest was a small portion of dry meat with rice. Moreover, service is absolutely a joke. Table and ground was dirty and there is fly in the store. Was my first try and definitely will be last.

I really wanted to love it but the chicken shawarma meat was very dry and bland. I saw garlic sauce being added but I could not taste it. Maybe it was an off day and someone forgot to season the meat? The staff was amazing tho.

I just stopped by, I was served pita made from dry chicken. Bad service, the only good thing was the potatoes

Clean area and excellent customer service, very friendly. Very fresh and well made shawarma. We walked from the hotel for 20 minutes but worth going there. We finally tasted a really good shawarma after so long, almost the same as we had in the ME. All ingredients were fresh and had high quality. I highly recommend this place if you want to taste a real Arabic shawarma. Sahtain!!!!

I grew up on cheesesteaks, but the beef shawarma with spicy hummus, pickled turnip and sliced hot peppers is by far the best sandwich ever. I fly to Ottawa a few times each year, and Im always sure to arrive hungry so my first stop is Shawarma King.

Food quality has gone down over the years, used to be my go to spot for the longest time. I recently moved back downtown and have tried it three times now and each time it wasn t good. I will say the veggies were fresh but the potatoes, rice and meat just didn t taste right.

My wife and I have been coming to this place for years. They offer a traditional Shawarma menu with awesome flavors. As others have stated, the garlic sauce is amazing. And whether youre ordering a sandwich and garlic potatoes or a platter, the portion sizes are really generous. I love being able to buy a dinner platter from here and have plenty of food for lunch the next day as well! Not once have we been served dry, over roasted meat that was on the spit too long, always juicy and succulent. I highly recommend the chicken as they use a nice spice blend to marinate it. The staff are great. Theyve gotten to know us over the years, they recognize us right away and ask how our day has been, and sometimes we get little extras. Bottom line: great value, tasty and satisfying food, and friendly staff, a must try! Vegetarian options: Falafel

There was a black curly hair in my food.....I assume possibly from a beard.. I have long straight brown hair and no facial hair so it clearly is an issue here.

Im very disappointed.despite the fact that the services were awesome, friendly staff, were given free lentil soup but the chicken shawarma was so bland.i asked if the food is spicy and i was told everything is but....the chicken was white, a little undercooked and chicken poutine had little gravy in the bottom and was flooded with bland chicken. We asked for the sauces.there u go.red sauce was awesome.but i wish it was inside the shawarma.baklava and falafel were so so. I came home,opened the left over and fixed it by adding the sauce and cooked the filling.

Personally one of my favs. Yes, the meat can be a bit dry, and the wrap can be a bit prone to falling apart, lol. But still, something about the staff, the open vibe, and the tastiness of the loaded wraps that just gets me. Also probably one of the cheapest shawarmas in Ottawa by weight, I would say. So thats gotta be worth something in a world where the smallest meal out costs you $20 plus tip. Small shawarma sandwich for $10 EVEN (at the time of writing) in 2024. Bless it, man.

I ordered online mixed plate shawarma. The taste was okay, especially the chicken shawarma. However, the beef one and rice not that good! The portion was huge and could feed two people.

Food was delicious here, for an open late Shawarma spot, it still tasted fresh. The service was well and they even cleaned a table for us. The late night staff talk Bae about customers not knowing I understood everything in Arabic they said Parking: Lots of one-way streets and its paid street parking. At night there is alot of homeless people wandering the area, so be careful of your car parked

I ordered chicken poutine and received chunks of huge dry potatoes two tiny chunks of cheese and chicken.

The food is disgusting ! I ordered one chicken and one beef shawrma, and a sharma plate, it has been 24 hours and i am still having stomachaches ! I dont understand what these good reviews are crazy about! First the chicken shawrma isn t even shawrma, its just a chicken wrap ! We didnt even TOUCH the shawrma plate because everything was mixed up. The hummus with the rice with the meat ! I cant believe i wasted 80$ for this food ! If i had a plain toast it would have been better than this garbage !

Was served old, dried out hard rice that lost all moisture and resulted in being hard to eat. Hurt my teeth eating some as I didnt expect to bite down on that. Rice was very salty as well. Chicken was moist and good but beef was super dry and tough. Salad was fresh. Overall, this is my second time trying them and second time being disappointed. Quality and care is lacking.

By far, it is the best Shawrama place Ive ever been to. Very consistent sandwiches that rarely fall apart. Extremely friendly staff too. The place looks a little run down, but dont let that distract you from having a great shawrama. I have been coming here whenever I have been feeling for a shawrama in Ottawa for the past 10 years. Would highly recommend to anyone whom wanted to try an amazing, local, non-franchise shawrama!

In 2002 was my first time . Its the Kings shawarma who knows what the real traditional shawarma taste . Here Im back again in 2023 still great shawarma with great customer service . Just to be honest it can be better like 20 years ago ! But you wont find too many places that step to kings shawarma level in taste and service

I was real happy to try this shawarma but I ve been never disappointed like this. I mean the food was worst that s OK my money went to garbage that s OK but the staff they are so RUDE. Bro you are representing the culture of shawarma/Arab and being this rude. I m trying to explain go easy on veggies but this one guy was like either you want it or you don t want it. I can t go easy (in a very rude way) sad to say this but this is one of the worst restaurant in Ottawa Thank you for this type of hospitality.

Indescribable taste

This place was one of my faves in college and I just came back and ate here again and WOW. The chicken shawarma plate was phenomenal!!!! Garlic sauce is one of the best, I could eat it by the spoonful! The meat is perfectly cooked and all the other ingredients just add to the magic! 10/10 Ill be back here asap!

One of my children is raising a family in Toronto. When they come to Ottawa to visit we always get shawarma from Shawarma King because the Shawarma places in Toronto are not very good. Very large portions at Shawarma King in Ottawa and delicious food.
