Golden Crust Pizzeria in Ottawa

I have ordered a vegan pizza from Golden Crust twice. And both times, they did not use vegan cheese on their pizzas which were specifically labelled as vegan. I am not vegan, I have a dairy allergy, and I have written specific notes in the orders to attempt to reinforce that I cannot eat cheese. It did not work. I will not be ordering from them in the future.

The pizza itself (Mediterranean with chicken) was fine but the dough was very strange and has left my mouth feeling almost raw and sandy - I later developed some heartburn (which Ive never had from a pizza before). Besides it being yellow, it tasted very strongly of turmeric. This could explained the colour of the dough. When I called to confirm, the staff said they didnt know what was in the dough as the owner made it but believed it was food colouring (dye). He didnt sound sure though. This was also a bit off as its a bit contrary to their Yelp, which states : Using fresh ingredients without any unnecessary additives like prepackaged goods, food colouring,... Just makes me a bit uneasy and I likely wont worder there again. Which is too bad as they has a great pizza menu and I want to support local, small businesses.

Dont eat here if you have allergies or intolerances. My son cant have dairy, and I ordered a pizza from their vegan menu. Instead, they made a pizza with cheese, which would have made him quite sick, had we not caught the error. When we called to ask them about it, they said it was because we hadnt ticked a extra box on their vegan menu to actually get vegan cheese, which seems very confusing, for a vegan menu. Then, they said theyd send a credit tomorrow because of the mistake. They never sent the credit. Dietary restrictions: Did not follow instructions on allergies and intolerances. Failed to provide proper customer service in follow up.

This place is great! I recently partook in the planning of an Ottawa trip with my local Air Cadet Squadron, one which I helped organize. On a limited budget, I was having a difficult time finding a pizza place that could affordably feed 50 hungry teenagers... until I found Golden Crust Pizzeria. On top of already very competitive prices, Ralph, the manager, provided us with an extra group discount in order to help us out. The customer service I received was top notch - the order was treated with the upmost level of professionalism and every care possible was taken to ensure we enjoyed our experience. A small error was made on the bill - without hesitation, arguing, or any sort of trouble, the error was rectified. In a world where good customer service is seemingly more and more hard to come-by, I can say with confidence that Golden Crust Pizzeria is the epitome of what customer service should be! That said, Id imagine people dont go to a restaurant for the customer service - they go there for the food! The food from this restaurant was definitely nothing to scoff at - with a wide variety of pizzas to choose from and amazing sides to accompany them, my cadet squadron enjoyed quite the treat! Personally, having tried several slices of different kinds of pizza, I enjoyed the meat lovers the most. That said, all of them were amazingly delicious; you really could not go wrong with a Golden Crust Pizza!

Golden crust Pizza is an absolute blessing to Ottawa and especially Sandyhill. I eat from here very often. The service is amazing and the prices are too. But the very best in my opinion is the food. The owner is an experienced cook. Every meal Ive tried Ive come back for it. There isnt one meal Ive had I didnt enjoy. I never give a 5 star review because there is always room for improvement, however theres a first for everything and selfishly I want this business to stay in my neighbor and thrive as they should!!!!!!

I like this pizza and the garlic sauce but I ve only ordered twice and both orders have been wrong unfortunately. First time green peppers were put on instead of green olives and the second time the Hawaiian plus was missing the bacon.

I have been a customer of Golden Crust pizza for many year. The owner was very friendly and the quality of the pizza was very good. I went there, tonight, to order a pizza to go. I think the ownership has changed hands. New faces and absolutely no masks. I mean no masks! Sorry to say, I wont be going back.

I went to Golden Crust on Montreal road. And this is the second time I order pizza from u guys to give u another chance and I found hair in the pizza for the second time, and I m disappointed because nobody was wearing a mask and the first time ordered the delivery took 2 hours and I ordered with my large pizza 2 liter Pepsi and they didn t bring it with them and I confronted them about it and I still got charged extra $4 worst experience ever, not going here ever again!

Very good pizza. I feel like the sauce could be zestier. Crust was amazing. Toppings and cheese were good. Quick Delivery. The delivery driver was great and the older gentleman taking my order was awesome.

I went to this pizzeria on Montreal road and i found a small rock in my pizza and it chipped my tooth. Its gonna cost me 400$ for a tooth filling. Nobody was wearing masks either.

Im starting to get really discouraged by the pizzerias in Ottawa. This place was... a disappointment. The wings were great, crispy and nicely cleaned. The pizza... Oh the pizza. All we wanted was a nice large pepperoni pizza and they committed the ULTIMATE of pizza sins; placing the pepperoni under the cheese. Nothing like some super undercooked pepperoni to ruin your pizza. Although, I suppose they did this to hide their shameful grocery store sub meat trio pack quality pepperoni (yuck)

I ordered the half n half (Hawaiian + & pizza burger. The toppings fell off my half when I was eating it and ingredients weren t cooked on top of the cheese? I was hoping to try their homemade garlic sauce but they forgot it sadly.

Long wait for a disappointing meal. There was no one else there when we placed our order and for some time afterward so Im not sure why it took almost 40 minutes. The pepperoni was not pepperoni- it was a cheap pepperoni substitute that looked and tasted like bologna. It was also under the cheese, so removing it meant removing all the toppings. Despite asking for the pizza to be made easy on the sauce, there was so much sauce that it was dripping off the pizza. The crust was the only acceptable part. I feel like ordering a plain cheese pizza might not have been bad but there are much better pizza places in the area for a comparable price so it is unlikely we will be back.

This pizza is weird. The crust is actually yellow.I guess they are living up their name. It has a interesting taste to the dough. Maybe tumeric or chicken base is in it?

Th food was very cold. The wings so tiny and the putine was horrible. Why are you even in business!?

This was my first time trying Golden Crust and was really good! Lots of toppings, cooked perfectly and it was and ready when I got there. The garlic is very tasty as well. Also, a 3 topping pizza for $28 with tip and the dipping sauce is definitely a deal.

Worst pizza I ve ever tasted! Try authentic Italian thin crust pizza at Del Piacere on Preston Street instead, you will be pleasantly surprised with fresh hand made pizza from a wood fired oven.

Update: Wanted to update from my last review. We have been back many times now and the issue with our first order has not happened again. This has now become our go-to pizza joint in the neighborhood. Highly recommend. Previous: They just moved into our neighborhood and wed never tired the pizza at the other location before. We ordered a pepperoni and cheese and a deluxe of some kind (cant remember). The pizza was actually quite tasty but the pepperoni and cheese pizza was burnt on half the bottom and my kids wouldnt eat it. It would have been obvious to the person boxing it so I was disappointed. Nice to have another pizza joint in the neighborhood though. Hopefully they get it right next time.

We got chef s special pizza and smokey poutine. Both were super tasty. The pizza came with great amount of toppings which was pretty satisfying for my husband and I. The owner, Ralph, is super nice and generous guy. I strongly recommend it.

Incredibly tasty pizza. When I was there I talked with the owner for a few minutes. His passion for his pizza is just as flavorful as his pizza. The best part, when I ate it cold the next day, it was so much better than any other cold pizza I have brought to work.

The walk in special only takes 15 minutes and costs around $15. A very good deal. The crust is indeed golden. The wings were not great. They were the color brown, which is what I expected. Theyre located on St laurent and they called me back after waiting 45 minutes saying they cant deliever on Smyth road. Its just up the street off St laurent!

I chose to try this pizza for the reviews and to try local restaurants, but the pizza wasnt very good. The dough is yellow and that was interesting, but the flavors didnt stand out. The garlic sauce is good in small quantities because is has a very strong after taste that is hard to get rid of even with mouthwash. So, something to think about prior trying this pizza. Cheers!

Freshly baked pizza and authentic poutine (not overly watery with the gravy and not overly salt gravy) with melting custard. They really nailed it as genuine pizza. Unfortunately its not popular because it looks like a family own restaurant. I got my flash on so things look dark lol

I was pleasantly surprised at how good the pizza was, and how loaded the toppings were. You also get the local business feel from this pizza shop. I walked in to place my order and waited in my car. They quoted me 20-minutes, so I just figured Id wait in my car and go back inside to get the pizza in 20-minutes-- but the guy actually walked outside to bring me my pizza when it was ready. I dont know what it is, but its little things like this that you only really see at local businesses, and it goes a long way. I digress though. Like I said, the pizza is great. Similar style to Gabriel or Louis-- which is a thicker and heavy topping sort of pizza. I dont know if its a limited time thing or not, but they have a $12 walk-in special for a large 1-topping pizza, which is a great deal. Im sure Ill order from here again.

Friendly Owner and good

Golden Crust has been our go to since we discovered it in our community a few years ago and we were upset when it closed and we thought the owner had retired. We tried other pizza, were disappointed, and then discovered Golden Crust had not closed, had only moved on to Montreal Rd., and the pizza is as good as ever! The ingredients are fresh, the crust is still awesome, and the smile of Ralph is always there to greet you!

Our go to pizza, the original golden crust is amazing. Friends come to our place and ask if we can get golden crust since it s our local spot. It s a must try pizza. The subs are also really good. Great service and always amazing eats.

They accepted our order, confirmed it, then never delivered it. They didn t let us know any information. No notice it was cancelled. Then they didn t answer the phone for hours. Awful service.

Of all the pizza delivery places out there, Golden Crust has been my GOTO place for years when I crave for pizza! Their Hawaïen (with or without bacon) is the best ever. I also tried their wings and bugers/fries. Very good as well!

I have yet to find a pizza or a menu as satisfying as the one golden crust has to offer, the quality in unmatched and the service is beyond exceptional. Not to mention the homemade garlic sauce which is exquisite . My pizza cravings will forever be loyal to golden crust by default :).

Golden Crust is our favourite pizza in Ottawa! The quality is amazing and the price cant be beat. The owner is also very community minded and supports our school - even during these tough times. Our kids wont eat any other kind of pizza! Highly recommended it.

Best locally-owned pizzeria! The owner, Ralph, is super friendly and accommodating. They use quality ingredients and their dough is so good (like fresh bread). I ve been a loyal customer for years and I ve rarely been disappointed. Other than their pizzas, I would recommend the (cheese)burgers (that are made with fresh meat), wings, fries and onion rings. They also have really good ranch and mild sauce. They offer free delivery and pick-up specials.

This place makes great pizza..... when they get the order right. I order, pick up, only to get home to find there is an ingredient missing. This seems to happen mostly when the owner guy takes the order.

Best pizza this side of Little Italy. Found this place after a year or so of trying every pizza place in the area. Havent gone anywhere else since. They make a thin-crust which is actually thin. As the name suggests, their crust has some herbs/spices mixed in to give it a golden colour - very tasty.

Amazing pizza made with fresh ingredients, nothing out of a can. The garlic sauce is incredible, its like shawarma garlic. The staff are all friendly and the prices cant be beat, specialty pizza like this is normally twice the price.

I love pizza I ve tried them all from the cheapest to the expensive and I googled best pizza and what I ate was awesome nice and thick real bacon and made so well stuff didn t fall off when u grabbed a slice price was great and the only complaint is that the delivery guy tried to short change me on a 3 dollar tip I cought it and got my 5 so gaberials pizza does it 2 so watch your change but the rest was so good I ll order again tell all my friends and I m allergic to mushrooms and I ordered a medium combo they called to check if they should put mushrooms that s is a big deal and I thank them for that again awesome pizza :) and worth every dollar

Their spam mail (menu) is in my mailbox every week, but this time it was over the top. It hid my address on my mailbox for a whole day until I saw it this evening coming back from work. Stop with the spam! If I want to see your menu Ill look it up online!

Tonight we ordered Large 3 toppings, 20 wings as large poutine. Our usual when ordering from places. Weve been looking for a new place and I dont think this place is it. The poutine was soupy (watery gravy), the fries were under cooked and small amounts of cheese. They cheaped out by not using cheeses curds (which I dont mind) but have the decency to load up the shredded cheeses (Ive added a photo). We ordered bacon strips on the pizza and they did not inform us of only bacon crumble (its not the same). The pizza was ok. Ive had a lot worse. The wings were good. We went with a mild sauce because some places seem to add vinegar to their mild and call it hot. I didnt want to take my chance and just added good old rooster sauce at home. This place is only open till 10 on the weekends. Real bummer. One day well try again. We always give second chance. Maybe just a bad night.

So good. My new favorite pizza place. The kefta topping and fries are awesome.
