House of Georgie Sorento's Pizza in Ottawa

Very delicious pizza, the garlic is very taste, the dough of the pizza is very smooth & tasty, reasonable, highly recommened.

Nothing is fresh here and they sell you expired pop cans that are 3 months past its expiry date.

Was my fav pizza place for the last 15 years. I would always order gravy to pour on the pizza and garlic sauce to dip the crust. Now, ever since a few years ago, the prices have gone through the roof and simply crazy I just spent $50 having a medium pizza delivered. The garlic sauce is gross now, it used to be amazing, like what they have at shawarma places. Now it s drippy and barely tastes like garlic. The cheese they use is also worse, cheap tasting. What a shame, so sad to see this place go. Won t be ordering again.

Vegetarian options: Salads, veggie pizza is really tasty topped with fresh ingredients and the cheese is a perfect golden brown Kid-friendliness: I ve being coming here since I was 8 years old. Still a great place to bring the family for a slice of thier locally famous pizza and gravy! They make a killer poutine, and thier wings are crispy on the outside juicy on the inside (cooked just right). Wheelchair accessibility: It s ground level so it s 100% wheelchair accessible.

No fresh basil and fresh mozzarella in margarita, just lot of processed cheese with very little dry basil leaf and chunks for tomatoes priced 12 dollars more that regular cheese pizza.wont go there again, Would not recommend the place!

I ordered the fettucine Alfredo with chicken and it was the absolute worst Alfredo sauce Ive ever had. It was disgusting, I couldnt finish it. The garlic knots were burnt as well.

I ordered takeout on DoorDash last night and they gave me a pizza with mushrooms that had turned. Really hard to miss, they stank. Unfortunate, because I normally love their pizza - best sauce in the city. And the wings were great as always. Big disappointment, need to second guess ordering from here.

Ordered pizza and poutine after hearing so much about this place and it was so bad I only had a a few bites of pizza before I gave up and gave it away. The pizza was greasy with cheese that didn t taste fresh and the poutine tasted like old oil had been used to deep fry.

Ordered online at like 3 am on a saturday night. Food came hot, well priced, and the chicken parm sandwich had absolutely no business being that good! The sauce was amazing, and the chicken crispy, bun toasted and high quality. Love this place! The calzones are also great when I come.... To nitpick, fries could use a bit more salt, but aside from that 5/5, delicious.

Who puts gravy on a slice of pizza

This was my first time ordering from here as I was curious to taste what all the hype was about. The pizza was excellent. Lots of toppings and the sauce had tons of flavour. The only disappointing thing was the garlic sauce. It tastes fantastic, but for the price you dont get very much. I am still happy to give them 5 stars as the pizza was so good!

I have been going to this pizza place for over 20 years. It is a small mostly takeout style with a few tables in the front. It has a great location right off Elgin street. The pizza is amazing and is known for its gravy sides. A must see if you are in the area.

Really, whole pieces of raw garlic...at least cook it first. The worst pizza I have ever had the misfortune of putting in my mouth. And the deep fried pickles...dry and flavourliess. Order from anywhere else.

4.3 out of 5 is where I would rank them. Pasta was good. Hot sub was great. I got the super steak with ham and onions. Cheesecake was solid and the garlic bread hit well. Listen, the fries weren t great but I also ordered on Uber and they were free with the order. Don t order fries unless you re getting them there. This should be the rule of thumb for every restaurant. Don t blame them for something every restaurant struggles with - delivery fries lol. The 4.3/5 they have makes a lot of sense. They re also open late. That makes it even better. Good stuff. I ll go back again just for the hot sub.

Ordered a hot chicken sandwich. It arrived between two slightly toasted pieces of bread, a chicken burger in the middle with a bit of gravy, only on the inside. Never had something like this be labeled a hot chicken sandwich. It was dry and not good at all.

Ive always just gone to the Pizza Pizza on Elgin Street. But recently I decided to try something different and I remembered that this place has been around the corner. And the pizza is great. I posted on Twitter about it and someone commented that if I havent tried the pizza with gravy, Im an amateur. And someone on Facebook mentioned the gravy too. So Im definitely going to have to try that next time. Last night after covering the media night at the opening of for wheelies rollerskating rink, I told the Uber to take me right to House of Georgie and I sat there and had a couple of pepperoni slices while watching videos on my phone. Oh, and last time I was there, two different dogs strolled right in at separate times and wanted meat. The owner apparently feeds them. Its so cute.

I occasionally get a craving for a calzone. Not many places know how to make a good calzone. The calzone I had was exceptional. This was felt like a traditional calzone. The used ricotta cheese and my god was it good. It was stuffed to the rim with toppings. I love how they cook their own mushrooms. None of this canned stuff. Fresh and great ingredients. This was my first time at Georgie s but not my last.

We were visiting Ottawa and we were looking for a local pizza place when we came across Georgies Sorentos Pizza. We ordered Georgies Special Pizza. It was delicious. Packed with good quality ingredients, fleshly made by Georgie with a lot of love and skill. He even added a sauce to complement the pizza for free. The best pizza and the best service in town.

Placed an order online. Went to pick it up at the appointed time but staff had no record of the order and said their website was down. Despite cancelling the order I was still charged. Now disputing the charges with Mastercard. These people are a waste of time. Stay away.

I ordered fettuccini, chicken parm, and cheesecake for desert. The fettuccini tasted like it had vinegar in it, almost like an ingredient had gone bad/sour, the chicken parm was buried under the pasta so it was very soggy, and the cheesecake tasted like chemicals, like it was freezer burnt. I tried this place because I wanted to try something new and hopefully add another place to my list of favourites, but I can honestly say I was not impressed and the food was terrible, atleast what I had ordered anyways. I won t be ordering from here again and I do not recommend.

We have ordered from House of Georgie Sorento s twice before, and have had nothing but excellent food delivered. This time, it was like a whole different restaurant. I ordered the Two Italian Dinner Combo, with 1x Spaghetti/Penne & meatballs, and 1x Baked penne (no meat!!). The garlic knots were BURNT, the spaghetti had no meatballs, and the baked penne where do I begin. The baked penne was so over cooked that the noodles were shredded to pieces. There was twice the amount of tomato sauce than usual, and ZERO cheese. AND - there were meatballs!!! The (no meat) option on the menu is great for vegetarians, but not when it s ignored by the restaurant! Now, you could say that I m mixing up the dishes - maybe the shredded penne is supposed to be the spaghetti/penne with meatballs. In that case, the pasta is still over cooked and drowning in too much sauce. AND, then the baked penne would be spaghetti noodles with, again, no cheese. Either way, not great. I m so disappointed honestly. I was looking forward to having House of Georgie Sorento s again as I had enjoyed it so much before, but had this been a first impression, I d certainly never order from them again. Vegetarian options: They have vegetarian options, but I ordered a no-meat dish and got meatballs.

Was looking for a new traditional pizza place as the girlfriend and I usually get Pi Co but were craving a thicket pizza. Ordered the deal with pizza wings and a salad and was very impressed. Probably my favourite non thin crust pizza in Ottawa now. Was cooked perfectly with right amount of cheese and toppings. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area.

Staple of Ottawa drinking scene. This is the place I think of akin to getting a hotdog in NYC, Paris Crepes, poutine in quebec city, smoke meat in Montreal, and Philly cheese steak in Philly. Ottawa has Gravy pizza! You have not experienced the drinking scene till you sober up by having a slice from here with the gravy and hot sauce.

If gravy on pizza sounds good to you, you probably will enjoy. Probably the best deal downtown. Fantastic stuff.

Its been a while since we were here. Tonight will be the last. The quality is way down. The fries in the poutine were barely cooked. The were a few cheese curds in the gravy but thats it. The pizza was super thin and smaller in diameter compared to the past. 1 for 1 quality pizza at best. I am extremely disappointed that they sacrificed quality to save cost.

Ordered through Ubereats, the fries were super dark from old dirty oil (and tasted like it too) And the pepperoni sub said it would be pepperoni, cheese, pickles, tomatoes and onions. It was half full of old mushrooms and green peppers which was not stated anywhere with no tomatoes or onions.

Have been buying pizza from this restaurant for many years (my family used to buy it when I lived at home as a teen, so over 20 years). Delicious pizza, but have noticed some strange inconsistencies in service and quality of the food in the last year or so. Size of large pizza has noticeably decreased in the last few months. Will often get olives on garden salad when specifically request no olives (they re not listed as an ingredient in the salad on the menu). They have also delivered pizza and told us at the door that a topping, such a green peppers, were unavailable as they ran out. Ok but when we open the salad container, it s covered in green peppers (?). Really strange.

An iconic Ottawa spot. This is something I have yet to see anywhere in the world, gravy on pizza. The prices are fair, the food is delicious and the owners are super friendly and fun to talk to. If you havent experienced it yet, what are you waiting for?

Gravy on pizza, the thing of legends

Every time I call these days, it seems this place is closed.... I LOVE their food - their pizza and poutine is delicious! I just wish they werent closed every time I go.... they even close before the posted hours these days.... I drive from Gatineau just to eat here, which is its all the more disheartening when I show up and find the doors closed and lights off even before theyre supposed to close. The inconsistent hours is why Im giving 3 stars in stead of 5.

Great traditional pizza place. Some odd stuff like the Gravy Slice, which is your choice of pizza slice smothered in brown gravy. I know it sounds disgusting, but everyone I know that has eaten one, says it is amazing. It is one ingredient away from poutine, so I guess it stands to reason...

One of my absolute favourite places to eat. The baked ziti is AMAZING! I crave it all the time now. The jalapeño poppers, mozzarella sticks, and zucchini sticks are all fantastic as well. The prices are great for the amount of food you get. As a vegetarian student, this place is a blessing! Highly recommend.

Great pizza and pasta place, same location since 1980. This was our first time. My wife and I shared a Greek salad and a medium pizza. Lots of ingredients in a very tasty salad. Pizza was excellent, great crust and the hostess pick some mint from her mini garden on the patio which she added as a garnish. The salad was large and we came home with half our pizza. Highly recommend the place, its just a few steps off of Elgin Street.

Unreal baked ziti and garlic bread!

GROSS FOOD AND BAD SERVICE The fries are always burnt. You will never get this mysterious coleslaw but rather a container of ketchup. They ve forgotten my drinks on many occasions and today didn t even bring me what I ordered. When I called them to let them know a guy told me that is the the 3RD time I m complaining. I told him he has lost my business and I will not be supporting a place that sends out garbage food and tells you not to complain about it.

House of Georgie nailed it!!! I brought four colleagues who were gravy & pizza virgins and they were blown away. Quality, friendly and thoughtful service. He was very careful to ensure that the pepperoni was kept on one side of the pizza (dietary restriction) and personalized each slice for us!

Great food and price was good too, we stopped here for lunch on a ski trip the reason for 4 stars not 5 is due to they dont have a public bathroom so for travelers that wanted a nice place to eat and sit down for a bit on a road trip it a loss to not have a bathroom. I would go here again but think i will try a different place next time for lunch.

I ordered late one night from uber eats and wow!!! I knew nothing abo it Georgie Sorentos, but when I started eating I assumed they were an upscale dining restaurant. The love and quality in the food I received was impeccable. This is a gem!!! Everything was amazing. Caramel cheesecake & honey donuts below... highly recommend !

Been eating at this place since I got a job in the area. Every pizza I have ordered has been delicious. Consistency is great. The fattoush salad is my wifes favorite. Simple but excellent.

My friend has been going to this specific location since he was 12. I only recently tried their poutine and pepperoni pizza. The gravy is amazing!! Highly recommend. The pizza is super cheesy and the sauce is sooooo good. We ve tried both Georgie s location but definitely like this location better. The owner s are superrrrr sweet and kind as well so it just makes the experience extra great

Amazing pizza and service! One of Ottawas best!

Ive always liked their pizza ever since being a sciences student at uOttawa. We ordered from here often. The layers of cheese are amazing and the mushrooms are delicious. The pizza is well made and fresh. My only concern is the sauce used for the veggie pizza. I believe its likely fresh crushed tomatoes instead of pizza sauce but this tends to let the overlaid ingredients slide off all too easy. There are going to be tomatoes in that pizza so Id suggest have a base that doesnt allow for easy sliding of the cheese layer.

Best pizza I had in the city! Seriously its a must try. Great location and its open till 2am. The owner/chef is very friendly and has been succesfully running this restaurant for 20 years I believe, thanks to her truly special recipe!

We have been going to Georgees for what 25 years, unfortunately the service from certain individuals is totally unacceptable and we will not be eating there anymore. We placed an order earlier this evening and when it took over an hour and 20 minutes (we live 8 mins walk away) we called to inquire. The lady said the driver had left long ago and should be there any minute, only to have her show up at our place with what we thought where our subs 15 minutes later. Unfortunately our standard Miss Piggy extra meat and Big Joe turned into Miss Piggy missing extra meat and all condiments and I got ham with a lump of cheese no condiments. When my wife called to inform them of our dissatisfaction the Cook on the other end was rude and tried to justify the way the sub was prepared. I called and received the same attitude from the Cook Its odd because weve ordered these subs hundreds of times.... youd think we already know how they should be made but hey guess not. Never again. Terrible terrible food and service from the Cook
