A Local Pub in the heart of the glebe. A place to hangout with friends and neighbours in a safe and cosy modern Canadian Pub
Just had an early dinner with an old friend and he suggested the Glebe Central Pub, which I had never been to before. The atmosphere was perfect for a small.pub, with a super friendly and sassy (in a good way) bartender. Unordered the taco trie and I have to say, that I was surprised by ow good they were! Great job glebe central!
It was a little loud (but hey it's a pub). It was packed. The service was very friendly and the food was great. There were three of us and we had the tacos, fish & chips and bulgogi wrap. Highly recommend the wrap. Oh and the love music was fantastic (one guy and a guitar - Carlos(?))
I have been going here since they opened, but quality of food and service has really gone down so I won't be going back. I was in for brunch November 2nd and eggs were undercooked, yet bacon was overcooked. I barely ate any of it. Worst part was the service, or lack of it. It wasn't even that busy and after relatively long wait to place my order and for food to arrive the server never came by to check in. I literally had to wave them down to get my bill so I could get out of there.
Trivia night on Tuesdays is always a highlight of the week! The usual emcee is entertaining. Service is friendly and attentive. And although there have been exceptions over the months that my neighbours and I have wined, dined and tested our knowledge of random facts, the food is surprisingly good for a pub. I love the bulgogi bowls, my fiends have enjoyed almost everything on the menu, and the 9 oz wine pours are much appreciated.😊
I recently tried the poutine at this cute little spot. It cost around $30, but unfortunately, the quality didn’t live up to the price. The ingredients seemed overcooked, giving the impression that they might have mixed leftovers to create the dish. Despite the food, the staff were incredibly friendly, and the place itself has a charming atmosphere. I hope they improve the food quality because the overall vibe is great!
Great service, very cool vibe, and awesome wings! Came by on a Monday night ($0.75 wings) and it was busy, but still able to get a seat. Waitress took our order quickly, and it wasn’t long before we good our food and drinks. Wings are a perfect size, and the Cajun style was my favourite. Will be definitely coming back again!
Went in for brunch. Coffee was horrible, hash brown potatoes seemed microwaved and the Benedict eggs came hard boiled. Order came incorrect on first attempt. Server was nice and fixed it quickly. Only thing saving a 1 star is a decent wing deal here.
It was highly recommended that I stop in and give this place a try, and it did not disappoint! The service was friendly and attentive, the drink menu had a nice range of choice, including quarts of beer, and the BLT I ordered was really good. Overall it was a great first time visit and I hope to get back there again when in the Glebe.
Great bar for the Sens game, Viv was a great server, couldn t ask for better :)
Great place friendly staff
Great waffle fry nachos. The service was friendly and timely. The atmosphere was relaxed yet fun.
Great atmosphere, Great Bartenders, Great waitresses, and plenty of whiskey!
Great beer on tap! Fun vibe, friendly staff!
Amazing place to grab breakfast, or lunch and dinner. I enjoy the beer on tap and the sports they play on TV.
Locked on podcast sent me here and it lives up to the hype! Great spot for a pint and some barfood, sens games are super fun at this bar. Also Highly recommend the shuttle to the game.
God, waited 75 minutes for a BLT that never came, place was almost empty on a Saturday morning
Great service nice poutine and Tom was the absolute best! Great pub!
Great for watching football games, not many places are still playing matches so it s great to see a bar that still does! Service was good and so was the vibe of the restaurant. Will be coming back to watch future games.
We were a party of 9, the service and food was good. I had a burger, it was one of the best I e had in Ottawa.
A decent pub on Bank St, good for a burger and a pint. The live music nights are fun. Staff are always great.
They have Crown Royal for bar rail. Omg!
Pathetic, weak and embarrassing. Sickening actually.
Good atmosphere, staff and friendly
The Premier pub for soccer and other sports in town. And the pulled beef poutine is top of class.
Great spot to chill.... great vibe
It was fine.
Update: I appreciate Glebe Central Pub reaching out and making up for the experience. We used to love this pub in Glebe, but tonight was disappointing. We sat at the bar, we ordered cheeseburger and black bean burger, and while the food was mediocre, the real issue was the bartenders unpleasant behavior. Despite hoping it was just a rough day for him, the behavior continued, so we decided to leave. He seemed simply aggressive and annoyed. Vegetarian options: Very limited and quite dissapointing.
Came here during the Euros and the place was packed! We still got great service and even won a free pitcher of beer. Great vibes all around!
Been here a few handful of times and it s the first time having attention of this bald guy behind the bar (owners son)? On a dead Tuesday night at the bar top I waited over 6-7minutes to be served a beverage. I had to ask for a menu, deep conversations with the patrons I appreciate that, but proper service can be achieved while still enjoying great meaningful service. It s a lost art.
Dropped in for a burger and beer tonight. Surprisingly good burger and beer selection always good. V friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Perfect neighbourhood pub.
The wing deal is very worthwhile especially going with friends. I recommend the bulgogi wing flavour
Lana is amazing !! Gave us the best service, so sweet, will come back for her !! Love you Lana
Came here to watch game 7. It was busy, but after 45 minutes waiting for a beer I gave up and left.
FUN!
Was there for the Canada vs Peru soccer game. Great energy & friendly staff!
Fantastic place to watch sports! Hangout for local supporters of Atletico Ottawa, of the Canadian Premier League. Food is exactly what you expect from a pub - wont be blown away but wont be disappointed!
Great pub atmosphere, delicious food, great beer, wine and cocktail selection, excellent for watching games, and service is always wonderful.
Such a beautiful place for Food, live music, and the best bar rail in the city.
I wish there were more places like this in Ottawa. The atmosphere is electric for Arsenal, Canada, and England soccer games. l I am biased as an Arsenal fan, but I would honestly goto more fan-friendly pubs like GCP even if they were for Liverpool or Man United supporters. Good food, they know how to pour Guinness here, Thank you for accommodating all these crazy gooners. COYG
Very nice staff and great atmosphere.
Very good pub that plays soccer matches. I was there for the 2024 FA Cup final. Great atmosphere. The kitchen is accommodating of dietary restrictions, although they did mix up my partners burger order by adding cheese even though the server told the kitchen to not add cheese, so it had to be remade. Would have been nice to get some sort of discount for the additional wait. I assume this was an anomaly. Nonetheless, I would definitely recommend this pub, and will be returning soon!
We run the supporters club for Arsenal and Glebe Central is where we host our watchalongs! The pub has always been so supportive and accommodating of us and the selection of beer is great too
Great place to watch sports! Monday night is wing night!
Good service, good vibe, myself and couple friends ordered their burgers with sides of fries. Absolutely terrible, bun was stale, patty tasted cold, fries were stale, would drink here again, will never order food again
Have gone to this pub various times, specially to watch sport games, all the times Ive been it has been a positive and fun experience. Havent had too much trouble finding a table and the staff is quite friendly. Food is good and wait time is not long. I really recommend this place as it is in a very good location and its lively all the time. Vegetarian options: They have a few options, from starters, to salads, and veggie burger options. Parking: Bank Street in Ottawa is one of the harder streets to find parking in Ottawa
Got seated and waited 20 minutes until we realized we are not getting served. I guess the Drake and Kendrick is the hot topic these days, apparently for the waitresses that was more important instead of serving. Sad that i didn t experience the food, great menu, great choices. Save yourself and do takeout .
*Edited to change rating. An unsedated rootcanal would be more enjoyable and worth your money than visiting this place* I had originally rated 5 stars, but after our past few visits, its clear this place has gone downhill. In the past year or so months, I have yet to have a pleasant experience with the service staff (who had always been friendly and welcoming) and the quality in food has plummeted. Save your time and money - this pub isnt worth visiting.
Great place to hangout and watch the game. Decent cocktails, food can be hit or miss. The breakfast sandwich on a homemade english muffin is one of my favourite things to order, but it hasn t been on the menu in a while. I ve only once had to wait over an hour for my meal. Lesson learned - it s a good idea to call in advance if you re planning to do an event there, to make sure that they are adequately staffed.
Great bar, with great food. Very nice atmosphere. Had the French Smash Burger with waffle fries.
Great place to follow the Arsenal if youre in Ottawa
Great afternoon watching the Arsenal vs Brighton match. The staff were very friendly and the food and drinks were both nice and well priced. Me and my family had a great afternoon there. I would recommend this place and if your an Arsenal fan it is definitely worth going there to watch. Plenty of TVs, and lots of seating and a great atmosphere
Great spot for a nightcap!
Great location and pub feel. Lots on tap. I order Guinness here and it always tastes delicious and fresh. Super friendly waitress named Shannon works here. Puts a smile on everyone s face. She s a nice blend of funny and professional. Highly recommend.
Great food, drinks, service, and hours!
Nice pub, but noisy making it difficult to have a conversation.
Only come here to watch Arsenal games, but the place is jumping when I do.
live music is great, super cheap bar rail
Food was great! Service was horrible. Took forever to order. The the waitress never came back to see if the food was good and she never brought my drink. Had to wave her down just to pay.
Awesome intimiate spot dive bar esque. Open mic was fun and the drinks and food was great
Excellent atmosphere, especially if you are coming in to watch a football (Soccer) match. Good breakfast and reasonable prices.
Had a great time. Bartenders were attentive, beer selection was great too. Classic pub vibe, inviting, and warm. Good sense of community here.
Okay bar, but waitress did not let us interact with the ladies. As she eloquently put it, she was watching us. Solid 1 star.
Service was great despite a packed night.
Hannah was a delight and very helpful
Always good service and friendly staff at middle of glèbe. Usually come here in the evenings so abundance of free street parkings after 5:30 pm. The space is divided into 2 sections one with bar and an event stage and the other side darts and more quiet section. Both sections are in full view as you walk in .. so if you want a quieter environment, left side is what you want to avoid the lousy crowd at the bar or event attendees. one interesting dish is scotch eggs not many pubs serve them and it is a must try. ( scotch egg is soft boiled egg wrapped on sausage and coated in breadcrumb). Must try.
First bit of sunshine patio was open immediately even in February. Waitress/bartender was thoughtful and on the ball. Was everywhere all at once and she did a great job keeping everyone looked after.
Best place around, especially before a Sens game!! Will take that shuttle again!
Guiness on tap and amazing burger. That made my day! Mid afternoon drinks that brought me right back to my trip to Ireland! Great atmosphere and amazing staff. Had the burger and it was so freaking good!
Such a great local, British style! Love the vibe, friendly service and affordable drinks! Trivia Tuesdays is also a lot of fun!
Great atmosphere, friendly staff, great food. Always a good time (especially the golf tournament!)
Nice pub. Great service, cold beer. Yum yum yum
Best burger ever. The server was also so kind, she was the best!!
They have good shows. The place is quite small but they are doing their best to make it cozy. Food is okay. Overall a normal typical bar and the usual nothing special
Came here thinking it would be a great environment to watch a SENS game as they sponsor the Locked on Senators podcast and they always praise them for their environment. Rushed poor service and had to beg to get a tv tuned into the game and no other SENS fans here. I ll never come back here for sure. Well below my expectations and not a place to go and watch the SENS play.
I enjoyed my time there. Staff was very accommodating. Will be returning in the future.
Great breakfast and charm of an older pub.
Great discovery! Excellent burgers and beer!
Can t beat the Monday night wings, the fun little events do they do, and battle bot watch parties on Thursdays? Count me in! I highly recommend the Korean bbq wings.
Great little spot and I love how they serve the quart 50 Labatt in the traditional small glasses. The foods decent but nothing to write home about and the prices are about average for the Glebe area. What they have going for them is the fact that their drink list is solid.
I was dragged here by some co-workers who knew the server from another pub. I was hungry, so I just ordered a burger. It caught me by surprise as it was quite excellent. The fries were really good as well. And yes, the server was pretty okay as well! Sorry, I forget your name...Shannon? Sharon? Im probably way off. Well be back and I look forward to exploring the food options.
Great service and food! Had salad & wings. Friendly waitress. Big TV at the back to keep you entertained. A fair bit of island music to keep it feeling loose and fun. Food : 5/5 |
Really nice interior, great in the summer. Food and beer was delicious and the servers were attentive with a great attitude! Vegetarian options: There are some vegetarian options on the menu.
Perfect place for a Chill 5to7 or any other occasion to share Time with your friends ! Thé service is A1 Service
Trivia nights and open mic nights are a blast! We are so grateful to have such a wonderful locally owned pub in the neighborhood. Ps. The food is amazing
We asked the waitress for soda water with lemon. She brought water with lemon and when we reminded her it was soda water she apologized but never replaced the water.
Great little neighbourhood pub thats been here forever, but this incarnation is the best yet. I really enjoyed the house burger, and I cant wait to come back and try some of their other offerings. Delicious menu, lots of choice at the bar, and a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere.
Best place in the city to enjoy a pint and watch some Soccer! I always try to head here Atlético Ottawa away games, national team games, and the occasional Arsenal game too given the awesome atmosphere. Food is also solid, with the breaded hot wings being a favourite and the scotch egg being a special treat. Great spot to enjoy some football!
The Glebe Central Pub is a place that the Ottawa Soccer Community is more than fortunate enough to call home. Blair has welcomed the Capital City Supporters Group, the Voyageurs and Arsenal Ottawa with open arms and allowed us to grow soccer in Ottawa by screening soccer games that elsewhere are harder to find on TV in the Ottawa-Gatineau area. This pub is host to matches such as; The Canadian Womens and Mens National Soccer Team games, Atletico Ottawa away games, Arsenal Soccer games, everything World Cup and many more great events. Not only is this Pub the place to watch broadcast and streamed matches but also the place to experience the pregame and post match Atletico Ottawa gameday atmosphere. The Glebe Central Pub truly is Ottawas Temple of the Worlds Game and there truly isnt a better Pub in this city to catch a footy match. The Glebe Central Pub is not only the home of soccer but a great place for friends to share their time together in a true public house. The Glebe Central Pub hosts great events such as live music, open mic nights, Trivia, RedBlacks pregame, Senators Gameday fun and much more. The Glebe Central Pub patio offers a unique and vibrant outdoor pub experience. The staff are always amazing at the Glebe Central Pub and there is always a great selection of food and drinks. The Glebe Central Pub is a place I strongly recommend visiting.
The location is excellent, as is the food and service. It is a great location to visit before or after any event at Lansdowne. We frequent it to watch soccer, as its the home pub of the Capital City Supporters Group and also for many Arsenal fans. The Open Mic and Trivia nights are also lively and fun. Come join us before the next Atletico Ottawa game and check it out! Kid-friendliness: My kids regularly visit with me, and there are high chairs available.
I generally like this place. A good bar with decent prices. One server we had was clearly not on the ball. Didnt have much idea as to who ordered what when it came to paying. Spilled multiple drinks. Free darts though. They also show Atlético Ottawa games so thats a very nice benefit.
Good and tasty Nachos. Energetic waitress.
Number one spot in the city to watch some footy (soccer). From the World Cup - men s and women s - to the great local team Atlético Ottawa and event he mighty mighty Arsenal. Located in the heart of the Glebe with an abundance of drink of options and cracking beer selection (including various non alcoholic drinks) it s no frills but cracking atmosphere kinda spot. Used to go early of Sussex but GCP is now number one for my soccer experience.
Good food, good service! The only downside, there is no AC and there is no breeze it was scorching hot Vegetarian options: Black been burger was good!
Very friendly staff and easy going patrons
I m a vegetarian always looking for options. The black bean burger was delicious here! My only con was it was a very hot day and they didn t have the air conditioner on, so that made it too warm inside as well. Vegetarian options: House made black bean burger with fries
Live music and open mic nights are where its at
Super chill local, havent had a chance to try the food here yet, but service is great, really nice offering of craft beers and major breweries. Reasonable prices, chill atmosphere. Sports are also usually on here if its a game night, which I care not for, and have no choice but to tolerate and speak loudly to whoever Im there with..
Ate here last night. Food was actually really good and good portions. Menu is affordable. Our server was excellent. Will be returning.
I had been to this bar a couple of times in the past but today took shelter on a rainy evening at this cozy bars patio. The waitress was incredibly friendly, offering water while I waited for the rain to stop. Such a warm and welcoming atmosphere! The experience was delightful, and Ill definitely be back!
Good spot to hang out. Good trivia on Tuesday
Food is average but atmosphere is great. Staff is very friendly
(Aug 26 night) Extremely rude, dramatic and unprofessional bartender girl with the attitude of a teenager. Spare yourselves a bad time and go to Irenes Pub or Snack bar instead.
Foid looked good. Went in for drinks after a football game.
Excellent place, with good food and beer options.
The menu offers traditional pub dishes like burgers and chips, salads and beers. I tried the pasta with pesto and was very disappointed. The quality was very poor. On the other hand, the goat cheese salad of my wife was okay. The service was okay. The atmosphere nothing special - not much fun going on on that evening. There are other better pubs in Ottawa in my opinion - I wouldnt recommend this one.
Had brunch on small patio. Was better than expected for a traditional pub. Inside is typical & a bit dark, bog for British fans
Worst service ever. Used to enjoy but will not be back.
Always friendly and great atmosphere at the GCP. Thank you to all the servers who take care of the Arsenal fans on the weekend!
I wonderful little pub
They open late....all others close early
Reliable. Best wings in town. Wings night (Tuesday): $12 wings, $6 pints Food : 5/5
This place has gone way down hill. I used to love this pub but its not the same anymore. I went here at 8pm on a Friday night. I was served the most bizarre Garden House salad Id ever seen, with a plastic ramekin squished on top and pickled red peppers. While sitting at the bar, the servers were talking amongst themselves about a customers drink order, about how gross it was. It was a standard cocktail. (my personal opinion here is that if somebody is paying for it, and paying your tip, you shouldnt be making fun of their drink in front of other customers). The bartender was an 18 year old kid with zero bartending experience. She was looking up how to make cocktails on her phone. When the Ottawa hockey game started, they switched all the TVs to Toronto baseball so I left. I wont be back and dont think theyll survive. - Just go to Irenes and save yourself the trouble.
No complaints. Great for a gooner fan
On vacation in Canada, popped into this pub and was treated really well. Great burger, nice atmosphere and looked after by lovely Ashley. Thank you
Great place to catch an Arsenal game. Come early because it can get packed. When the team is playing well- this place is buzzing! Staff does an excellent job during busy games.
Good for a drink and good service, food is very hit and miss
Fry strength is very important in a poutine like this as a good scaffolding for such premium ingredients and Gcp shoestring fries do NOT dissapoint. All I can say is WOW! This is my new favorite place to go and I definitely reccomend coming by next time you re in the glebe. If not for the Gcp poutine, at least for the atmosphere. Everyone seems so friendly and welcoming. It s like I ve known everyone for years. What an experience!!
The pub was understaffed. The food was terrible. The owner put on a podcast interested of some tunes.
Good place to relax and watch soccer
Good vibes and friendly staff
Been there over a dozen times in the past year. Friendly people and great food. Highly recommend!!
Great food and service. Nice atmosphere.
Great food and atmosphere
Quiet bar, friendly staff.
Nice atmosphere
It was delicious and the atmosphere was great.
Dirty beer lines.
Nice little spot! great trivia on Tuesday, had the waffle fries they were great. Live music, nice atmosphere. Recommended for a relaxed night out.
Good soup and specials! Great, fast service! Friendly staff! Convenient location in the Glebe!
Great service. Good location. Helpful employees.
Got a beer on the house for no reason
This place has a nice little patio along Bank St in the Glebe. We always stop in for breakfast or brunch and the Easy is a perfectly reasonable portion or you can go all out with heartier options. The staff is very kind and attentive and we always enjoy our time there.
Everyone should go and hear the Glebop Jazz Trio. The band and the singer are wonderful.
LOVE THIS PUB. Neighborhood favorite. Food had improved so much in the last couple years
As I live in downtown Ottawa, I have been here several times in the past couple years. Over my various visits, I have sampled many of their plates (quesadillas, fish and chips, black bean burger) and enjoyed my food. Good selection of beers as well.
Excellent pub. Got that pub vibes to it
This spot is the best! We often find ourselves there because of the good food and drinks. What really makes it special though is the people working there! They also have lots of cool events, definitely worth checking out their website: events!
Ran out of Guiness but the waitress was attentive and efficient. I didnt love my BLT, but that is a matter of personal preference.
First timer last night before Tom Segura performance at TD Place Arena. Good beers, food and staff
Stumbled into this place after an event at TD Place on Saturday. Very friendly staff with great beer selection and good vibes all around. Had an East Coast feel to it, Ill for sure be back!
A fantastic local pub with a great cast of characters. Very friendly!
Bloody good service and were super nice when it came to coordinating a birthday surprise. Thank you!
Really interesting cocktails, and the food was great!
The owner was very friendly
Great service, solid food, and a great looking staff. Solid pub in Ottawa!
Good food, lots of imported beers, under staffed.
Great place, a clean dive and super relaxed place
Mediocre pub with mediocre food. Good for just drinks and sports.
Great service great food
Atrocious service! Went for dinner early evening and the place was very quiet. Despite this we were left waiting at table for 15 mins without anyone coming to take a drink or food order. Servers were all at bar chatting and not paying attention to customers at all. This used to be our great local neighborhood pub but with the latest change of owners this sort of experience is common here. We eventually walked out and went to the much more friendly Irenes Pub further along Bank Street. Unless the owners work hard to change things around this place will struggle to survive given the many other better options available in the Glebe/Lansdowne area.
Fun atmosphere, good meal.
Great match day atmosphere.
Really great bar in a central part of the Glebe. They have a wide selection of beers and other cocktails to choose from (the espresso martini tastes amazing), as well as solid food options. The price is a little higher than other nearby options but overall the place has a great vibe that the additional costs are warranted. It was quite busy when I went but it seemed like a one-off and I imagine the place isn t too crowded on most days. Shoutout to Spencer for the phenomenal service when I went!
