Great place, make you feel welcome and like your at home.

I was shocked today at this place. The waitress gave me a bill for the food that was not my order. She refused to correct the bill and asked me to honour the bill. I was over charged by about 50% of the food purchased, not two dollars over charges as she said. Quite a shock to me today.

Great local sports bar. Has a few dart boards and friendly service.

Looking for breakfast place in my new neighborhood so we went here. Had the eggs Benedict. It was quite good at a good price. Not a large menu but good pub-type fare in a nice environment. Sat on the patio and enjoyed our time. The parking was crowded on a Saturday morning and it would be nice if there was a couple of handicapped spots but that is not the restaurants issue.

Went for an event, for which they dont take reservations unfortunately. We were there before the start and it was already super busy and overflowing to the patios. Theres more room than youd expect initially. We headed to the back patio, but told waitress wed like to move in for music when something becomes available. To our delight, she magically found us a table for 8 inside in time for the east coast music. Spencer Scharfe was top notch. We never did get brought menus, so I asked another table for theirs. Eventually got some food, which was great. Waitress was super friendly, just overwhelmed with the busy, it seemed. Likely could use more servers for events. It was my first time and I will return. Food and music were great. Atmosphere was super friendly, given east coast night.

Every time I ve gone I ve had an amazing time! The food has been amazing, really warm and tasty. The atmosphere is fun and friendly with a lively crowd and I ve the service was great! Chrissy (the owner) is the true hostess with the mostest! She makes you feel like part of the family and ensures you have a great time. I can t wait to go back again!

Stopped in with a colleague from out of town last night for wings...as usual they were great, fresh, hot, and full of flavor! Our server Courtney was so friendly, helpful and overall great!! As always, great spot! Cheers!

I visited this bar to see a friend doing a gig there. I brought some work and ordered onion rings and a drink. The server on Saturday afternoon was amazing. She alone made me want to go back. Ive been trying different places to work outside of the house. Ill definitely go back to this place. The onion rings were great.

Great hidden gem. Everyone is super welcoming. A great variety of things happening every night. Food and drinks are all very reasonably priced.

Great pub that has been renovated during the pandemic. Still looks very new and is always filled with a great local crowd. Food is good and the Guinness and other draft are very tasty on tap. Nice parking lot, dog friendly patio setup in the summertime. Parking: Large parking lot for the strip mall always has space.

Good pub, for sure. But the owner is a di*k and blocks anybody that posts a not favourable comment on facebook. Food is pretty decent, same with drinks. Staff are super friendly but are terrible. Even when the bar has barely any patrons, the waitresses dont come back to you once you get your food. To the point that they will look the other way when walking past, when youve tried to signal them previously. This happens 90% of the time, as we go once or twice a week, for the past few years. Waiting usually min 20 mins after we finish our meals, up to 30 mins. They must not like money, because we would happily get another drink or two if they would come back to us. sadly thats not the case. I just wish the owner could own up a bit to clients that complain, and not just block them.. there is a reason hes getting the same complaints over and over.

I left this place with an extremely sour taste in my mouth. Firstly there wasn t anyone there to greet or seat you when you walk in, one of the regulars told us to sit anywhere, shortly after sitting and getting a menu we were left for about 20 minutes until we peeked our head over in which she told us that she completely forgot we were there we ordered BEEF nachos, 2lbs of wings and a poutine. There was no beef on the nachos, the wings were probably the most tasteless wings I ve ever tasted and I was not a fan of the gravy on the poutine . The server did not come to check if we needed anything after getting our meals and we had to wait until our food was finished to get another refill of water due to the lack of service we received. Will not be back!

Great little informal spot. I meet there on Mondays for the appetizer special ($5 for each an appetizer and beer). The food is good and consistent. They also have open mic if youre into listening to live music. Service is good and friendly. Parking: There is always lots of parking

I absolutely love this place. The food is always delicious the beer is always cold and the people are always friendly. You will find a mixed crowd all ages all enjoying good music and good company. Definitely check this place out its worth it. Oh, and as a side note, every Wednesday and Sunday is half-price chicken wings, and they are fabulous!

Kim , the day bartender is an absolute sweetheart, and pays attention to detail, serving everyone with the best service!

Our first time ordering and we had the quesadillas and nachos and it was absolutely delicious! The salsa tasted like homemade and we couldnt finish the entire thing but it was so good that we tried! The price was equally fantastic and delivery was faster than expected so I look forward to trying the entire menu!!

My local, close to my home. Caring owners. Very good selection of pub type food , friendly patrons, good selection of draft beers, as well as microbrewery type beers. Karaoke fun every Saturday night, karaoke starts at 9:00pm.

My wife and I stopped in for lunch and some live entertainment by acoustic duo Basset and The Hound, the music was awesome and the food was great, decent portions at a fair price, the staff and management were welcoming with quick table service, awesome atmosphere and very clean establishment, we highly recommend Southside Tap And Grill. We will definitely go back soon.

Great local pub and grill with a great atmosphere, large patio and friendly servers. We spent a Sunday afternoon there with a group of friends and heard three different performers over 2-3 hours. Everyone enjoyed their meals nachos, French onion soup, wings and wraps. They have daily beer, drink and food specials as well.

Went there on a Friday night in April 2023. The place was hoppin! Nice mix of couples, adults and families. Had a guitarist playing live music. As for food, I had the Cajun chicken pasta and I found it quite good. Seems like a popular neighborhood spot. Worth checking out at least once if youre in the area. Id return.

We have ordered delivery from Southside a number of times now. Definitely recommend the Crispy Chicken Salad and the Fish and Chips. Very generous portions which are a nice change from many restaurants, and both are delicious.

My friend Louie introduced me to this place and I had the fish and chips. The fish was excellent and the French fries are some of the best french fries Ive had in Ottawa in a long time. Our servers were very friendly and personable and never did we have to wait or ask for something. I definitely recommend Southside tap and Grill.

I have been to the Southside many times previously and really enjoyed it however the only word that could come close to describing today s (Canada Day) experience is ATROCIOUS. We had registered for the Canada Lobster boil at about 6:30 pm. We waited approx 30 minutes before a waiter came by over and took our drink order (2 x Diet Coke) at that time we advised him that we had preordered the lobster boil for two. He came back about 15 minutes late saying they had run out of lobster but his father had gone to get more. After an additional 15 minutes he came back and advised they were unable to get any more lobster and would we like any other food. Grudgingly we ordered items off the menu. These were delivered to the table relatively quickly. Halfway through eating our meal I saw a lobster platter delivered to another table. When I enquired as to how this was possible I was advised she had prepaid. I had not been given the option to prepay when I had called and preregistered. When I had finished my meal I asked for a container for my onion rings. After waiting 15 more minutes without seeing our server I went up to the bar paid my bill and left without my onion rings. What a fiasco. Extremely poor management in running out of lobsters and unbelievably poor service virtually every step of the way. This is no way to run a bar/restaurant.

Great local spot. Really captures the feel of a small town tavern and has some quality food options you dont often see in the trendier downtown pubs and restaurants.

Comfortable local bar full of friendly locals! The food is better than youd expect for this type of place, including both the brunch and the burgers, but its typical pub food. The sweet potato planks are divine as are the onion rings and cauliflower bites. Mmmm. The staff are friendly, helpful, and prompt with refills. Its not fancy, and the ladies bathroom always has an odd sour smell, but its clean, friendly, and reasonably priced. They remember our preferred table, and are also nice to us if someone just gets a pop rather than a beer or a meal. Recommended for a regular post-whatever beer and chat.

For a local bar option the food is great. Arguably the best fries in the city. And the Philly cheese steak is fantastic.

I work in the area and browsed local bars near me. This was the closest place to my workplace. I took at look at all the reviews before going which were basically all 5 stars. Well Im here to vouge that this place is definitely 5 star. It was a very quiet night for the establishment but I got acknowledged instantly walking in the door by the bartender. He asked me my name and introduced himself. That alone was very professional and welcoming. I had a drink and ordered the Nashville spicy chicken sandwich. What an absolute banger. Portion was great and the fries were fresh chip wagon style. My Previous favorite chicken burger in Ottawa was St Louis (garlic dill Chicken burger). Well this completely blew that out of the water. Thank you Doug for your amazing service and shout out to the delicious food from the kitchen staff. I hope I can make it one Saturday night for karaoke. If you are in the area, 100% drop by and experience it yourself.

I moved in the neighborhood over a year ago and I am sad I havent come here sooner ! Took my partner for breakfast, the potatoes were CRISPY (the good kind!!) Lovely bacon and overall great spot, will definitely be back for some good and affordable brunch :)

Southside is always a great place to go, especially Wednesday and Sunday nights for half-price wings. The entertainment is usually pretty good on Friday night. Parking: Theres always plenty of parking.

I really like this place. Locally owned, quite good food, great specials, the owner is almost always there - its everything you want in a local pub. Dietary restrictions: They are wonderful with my friend who cant eat gluten

This was my first time there,it s in my neighbourhood and a few of us decided to check it out. We went to Newfie night. It was understandable that it was very busy, so perhaps there should have been more servers on the floor. The fish and chips were at best mediocre. I ordered a glass of Kim Crawford Chardonnay, which was fine. When I ordered another glass, not only wasn t it the Chardonnay I ordered, it also took more than 1/2 hour to get. The stuff that was sent was not drinkable for me. The server said there was a back order on drinks. She took it back to replace it, when she came back with the next wine, it tasted like the undrinkable wine. I said I was not going to drink that and she was upset, so I told her not to worry about it. I would have thought that it would not show up on my bill, it did. Other than the first sip I did not drink it and left it on the table. I didn t make a scene and paid for it. In hindsight, I shouldn t have.. Will I go back? I doubt it although we might give it another try with different food and not on a busy night. He insisted that I told him what happened, and he certainly wanted to make it up to me. I was impressed and thanked him, he sent an appetizer on the house. They do some food really well like chicken wings, butter chicken, and appetizers. Other food not so great like the meatloaf. Its either kept in the fridge or freezer because both my husband and I ordered it on the same night and we each had a cool and a very hot spot on our portion as if it had been heated in a microwave. On another night my husband ordered a shrimp dish in a cream sauce at the recommendation from our server and the shrimps had tails on. Who does that? This is a lesson learned -- ask if tails are on before ordering a shrimp dish in sauce. In all, the staff is very friendly, there are tv monitors to watch sports, the music is good, the price is reasonable and our friends live nearby so we will go again to join them but take a pass on the meatloaf and shrimp dish.

Saturday night karaoke, and ambiance was great. Friendly and efficient staff, with a good selection of drinks. It has a cozy dance floor, dozen of bar stools, banquets, and tables that can be rearranged. Communal space, and bathrooms were clean.

The bar is really nice but the patrons run a phone stealing scheme. Saying they know who took it and making you pay to get it back. Im sure its the same with other personal belongings and feels reminiscent of the conroy pub days. Its pretty, but still a sketchy dump.

I live in the area and this was my first time there since the new ownership. The space is much more welcoming than before and the atmosphere and servers were friendly. Unfortunately we weren t very impressed with the food. We both ordered the fish and chips. The fries were very good but the fish had too much batter that wasn t cooked through. Very disappointing. It was pretty empty when we visited but it was early in the evening.

We had a great breakfast. My wife my son and our grandson. The sausage was huge!

When we arrived at 6:45 the dinner special of the day was already sold out .I ordered the chicken caesar wrap instead.At $17.95 I found it to be a little pricey I opted out of the platter and had only the wrap itself.It was described as romaine,chicken,bacon and parmesan cheese.What I got was chicken and romaine..no cheese and no bacon.Our server was awful our entire meal.He laughed and was dismissive about all problems with our meals.I opened up my wrap to show him no bacon and no cheese..he agreed..none inside..but no offer to fix it, or discount the price..and when the bill arrived at full price, he called me a liar about the missing ingredients. .This was our first time here, and it was shocking to see how we were treated The other two at my table enjoyed their food..but the overall experience left us all very disappointed....we wont come back or recommend sadly .

Southside Tap and Grill TWO patios, one is dog friendly & you can order doggie treats! They ll even bring your furry friend a bowl of water! Close to Conroy Pit Dog Park. Best fish n chips this original Maritimer has had in Ottawa! Thick, hand cut fries! The way they should be! Yummy!!! Looking forward to tasting more of their menu and for the live music nights. Staff was super friendly and efficient. I apologize the food photo is not better. Had to zoom in on a photo someone else took. I was so excited to gobble it, I failed to take a bf photo first.

Unfortunately after waiting in line 3 different times wanting to try the new local restaurant I have given up. No mask laws are being follwed in line. Ive stood in line while being made fun of for wearing one. Today another nutter carried on about how he works at Cheo and doesnt need to wear a mask? Its been almost 2 years its not hard. I will not support any business who doesnt make their clients follow the laws. You are making a dangerous situation for everyone. I atteptemed to explain the situation to the blond server who said it wasnt her problem and I better drop my attitude excuse me. You have lost someone who would have eaten here at least once a week.

Southside was my first restaurant experience post lock down and I couldnt be happier. Our server, Mackenzie, was excellent, and the fish and chips were great. The back patio is very nice and I appreciated their adherence to public health protocols. Thank you Southside!

Great staff, great food, AMAZING CHEESECAKE! Patio has a great atmosphere, just bring some off because, you know, patio in July.

Its certainly already an improvement over the pub at that location previously, but hard to tell what it will be like once they are able to fully open. There were decent vegetarian options but it would be great to have a burger that isnt Beyond Meat to be a bit different. The draught options were underwhelming - we have so many great breweries in Ottawa so hopefully they will start serving some local brews in the near future. Wed love to have a great local pub to visit regularly so I do hope they build on this good start once restrictions are lifted.

We really enjoyed the new atmosphere and layout of the place. Loved that there was a patio and more spacious inside. Great karaoke as well! The only thing I would have to say is the slightly bad experience with our service staff. They forgot our order several times and we saw him drinking with some customers. We didnt feel that was very professional. When we went to pay they forget they served us. Anyways I have nothing against the place.. I was pretty impressed with it but a bad night for service staff

So went to what I thought was my favorite bar last night Friday Sept 24th 2021 walked to the bar to sit down and was cornered by the very rude night manager and told I was barred beause I was imparied and have been for the last 6 weeks ! Funny because I dont drink except on a Friday !!!!! And since the lock downs I have been there maybe 6 times since January , I have fun but not to the point to get barred come on 61 years old , get a life guys , I did go last Friday and had a good time nothing was said to me and they know me ! The bartender working that night a young blonde girl I think her name is (Maddy ) she was quite happy to keep serving me and taking my money and then keeping a $ 19.00 tip , had no change gave her $40.00 for a $21 drink bill maybe they should take a look at the staff !!! TRULY DISAPPOINTED !!!!! At this point they dont deserve any stars !!!!
