Didn t notice til I left but ordered the crudo salad which came without bocconcini, without this was completely not worth the price $18 for a handful of arugula and chickpeas. Server took a large group with no reso at lunchtime, so no issues with service.

The food and drinks were great. Our table of 3 ordered burgers and the brisket sandwich. Gravy isnt really worth the price though, its so small you hardly have enough for your own side of fries, nevermind letting someone else try some. When our group arrived, we were unable to get a booth even though there were some open. The bar stools really need to be replaced and/or reupholstered.. cracked leather, unstable base that felt like it was going to break.

I ordered the schnitzel, and it was okay, but the amount of oil used is insane, there was a glossy finish on my plate from it pooling. I shouldnt have eaten it but sadly I did, and now my stomach is throwing a revolt as it tries to process a cup of vegetable oil.

Was there last evening (24th) with a friend. Sat at the bar until maybe 9:30 pm Our server was awesome, absolutely wonderful, engaging (my friend remembered her name Me, I m horrible at names). We asked for and did receive 2 of the glass steins (Paulaner), it was a nice evening .The wings? Let s just say I miss the original French-cut salt and pepper ones ..Overall a great night we were in a great place. We ll be back

Went twice while in Ottawa for meetings. Clearly marked veg and GF dishes. Salads were creative with ingredients and excellent taste! Nacho plate was huge!

The best spot to enjoy beer in Ottawa! The beer menu is extensive, with craft beers from around the world and beers from local breweries. Not only the variety of beer, but also the food is delicious, especially the German-style pretzels and sausages! Its great to have fun and share it with your friends. The atmosphere is casual, and live music events are held frequently, making it the perfect place for a lively night out. Its a great place for beer lovers as well as people trying beer for the first time, so if youre in Ottawa, be sure to check it out! Youre sure to have a great time.

A huge thank you to our server Joe M on October 10. We ordered food and I forgot to mention my fish allergy. My family enjoyed the nachos but I could not have them due to my allergy. A few minutes later Joe appeared with a hot bowl of chicken noodle soup for me. It was so kind. Thank you Joe!

I would not recommend this place at all. While I was there, I saw a cockroach right in front of me. It was extremely unpleasant, and it makes you wonder about the overall cleanliness and hygiene of the environment. If they cant keep pests away, I worry about the conditions elsewhere.

This is really my usual place for at least one evening during any Ottawa stay. I thoroughly enjoyed the visit and if the staff wouldnt have argued about who is on and off the clock and paid attention to ones needs, I would have had another drink.

Really good beer and food. Our waitress, Valerie, was excellent!

The virgin ceaser did not have much in it other than ice (no spicy bean, lime, lemon or gherkin). Food was slow to come despite them being half empty.

Smoked chicken flat bread I think was out of the frozen food section. Mussels provincial were pretty good but lacked flavor. Service was not bad for how busy they were. I quite enjoyed the patio, good atmosphere. Updated review- the manager has reached out to me regarding the food issue as a continued and ongoing need to provide the best food for its patrons. He has assured me he is looking into the matter and making adjustments where needed. This is excellent customer service.

Probably one of the best patios downtown. The food is very good, from their chicken wings to their burgers which are not greasy, to the delicious poutine and fantastic salmon, you cant go wrong here. There is a large selection of beers and mixed to choose from which are not available at other pubs. The one huge plus was the service we received. Valerie our server was so pleasant, professional, knowledgeable and excellent in every way. She watched over us to make sure everything was to our liking and provided us with recommendations that proved to be perfect. The service, patio, and food make for a great experience.

I arrived at 1.55pm just to have a beer, the waitress refused to serve me as it was almost 2am. I waited until 2:10, still no service. When I left, the same waitress told me it was closed at 2 a.m. Really sad because the site says open all afternoon.

We organized an event here, 100% recommend Staff was super helpful at choosing menu and the serve staff was amazing. If I were to book another wvent in Ottawa I would do it here again Food : 5/5

The terrace of this restaurant is attractive and offers tables in the sun or in the shade, depending on everyones tastes. I had a cheesecake which was very good, the waitress was very friendly.

A good restaurant near the Canadian Parliament. The typical German dishes such as the charcuterie are very successful and the burgers are put together very creatively. The burger patties, on the other hand, were unfortunately a bit hard and dry, which is not the specialty here. Overall, the restaurant is still a recommendation, not least because of the friendly staff

Needing an escape from the blazing Ottawa heat we stopped into the Bier Markt for a couple of cheeky pints. We were seated with a smile and served by our outstanding server Rena almost instantly. Rena gave us a ton of great information regarding the beers on tap and even listed some of her favourite beers for us to choose from. The beer was great and the location was awesome. Rena was awesome and did and incredible job serving our large party. Definitely would recommend coming here and requesting Rena as your server!!!

Mussels came cold and tasted like rubber; got charged $3 for two extra tiny pieces of bread size of a chicken nugget. Caesar salad very soggy with chicken as dry as and flavourful as cardboard. Poutine not too bad. Service could be better, especially with food being so underwhelming. Assume they cater to tourists and don t expect return business.

I recently visited the Beer Market Place and had an extremely disappointing experience. Despite the place being only 20% filled with customers, we had to wait an unreasonably long time to be seated. To make matters worse, the guy at the door was incredibly disrespectful and unprofessional. We ordered two beers, but they never came, so we ended up leaving. This kind of service is unacceptable. I wont be returning and do not recommend this place to anyone.

My family and I had an amazing experience here. We needed a place for lunch and we had our 4 month old, the food and beer was excellent. We had Rena as a server and she was so accommodating with our 4 month old, so patient, knowledgeable and friendly. She was 10/10 and so was the establishment. Come for the beer selection, but dont have the brisket. Honestly like eating a piece of Michelin tyre. Had to ask for a steak knife and sent the second piece back. Noted why at time of return no reduction on the tab at the end. Servers had a good laugh about the comment though when it was shared at the server stand. Love Ottawa food scene (which Bier Markt is not a member of) but was tied to sparks street because of proximity to Bluesfest and time.

The cauliflower fritters were delicious. The burgers were delicious and the atmosphere was nice. The name of the restaurant is Beer Market, so it was a shame that we couldnt have beer together.

Steak frites was delicious. I Wouldve tried a beer flight but service was very slow and not knowledgeable of their own menu which made all of us kind of uncomfortable to ask for anything. I do not recommend this place if you have dietary restrictions.

Good beer selection, nice terrace, good service good food. We came in with a 1 year old in a stroller and it was super easy to get a place to park it. We even had a dog that we could leash outside the terrace. Food was good, the chicken in the Holy Guac burger was a bit dry.

My fiancée and I sat on the patio and had an incredible meal and experience! Both the Schnitzel and the Steak Frites were delicious, and we had the most wonderful server, named Daytona. She was able to make perfect recommendations and answer all of our questions. Will definitely return!

We went in for drinks and apps. The host wasnt very friendly and the hostess that sat didnt even say a word to us. The table wasnt very comfortable so we asked to move to a table with a bench and under an umbrella. The waitress asked the host and he said it was okay to us to this one table with a bench but not under the umbrella. Then it started to rain so we asked if we could move again cause there was an empty table under an umbrella. The waitress asked the host again and we could see him roll his eyes and say something to the waitress. Before all this it took awhile for them to even acknowledge us after being seated. We then decided to order drinks and apps. The charcuterie board we ordered was not worth the price.

Second visit review: So... I have been there twice and I am impressed with the food. If the quality (which is very good) is consistent with the next meal I try... I will bump them up to 5 stars. Schnitzel was lovely! The meals on the menu are paired with beer suggestions... and they offer a LOT of different beer. Everyone at 4pm seemed to be having a great time and overall... the decor and atmosphere is very good. Located on Sparks Street (a walking mall near Parliament), this is a great spot to go. Enjoy inside or out on the patio. Bathrooms were very clean despite high traffic. Good job. Wheelchair accessibility: Street level and wheelchair accessible. Several diners were there in their chairs.

We just arrived in Ottawa and were keen to just grab a quick bite and a couple of beers. We stumbled across Biermarkt and were immediately impressed by the friendly service and atmosphere. Our server (Bhanu) was absolutely amazing and also gave us a number of suggestions on activities around Ottawa. We had the Happy Hour Smoked Chicken Pesto Flatbread which was absolutely delicious and great value. We highly recommend this place to everyone and will definitely be visiting again soon! AAA+++

I came here with my fiancé to celebrate our engagement and we had a wonderful time! Very impressive beer selection and delicious dinner. As great as the food and drink was, the highlight of our evening was our server Rena. She was delightfully charming and very helpful, recommending apt drink pairings with our meals and tantalizing appetizers to amuse our bouches. Her natural aptitude for customer service was apparent, and made for an extremely enjoyable evening. We will certainly return after our honeymoon!

We reserved the space in the back of the restaurant for a party after our christening this past weekend and we had such an amazing time. Firstly our two servers were exceptional, they were attentive, friendly, and professional. They made sure our drinks were always full and provided excellent recommendations. The attention to detail and genuine care for our guests truly stood out. Also the manager approached us to make sure if we needed anything. Service was extremely slow after seating considering there was nobody eating inside during dinner hours on a Sunday. But everything else was divine

I went there on a Tuesday evening while finishing work with colleagues. When we arrived, it was quite empty, but we were quickly served. I ordered the Crudo salad with extra chicken breast. However, the chicken breast was very dry and the salad was not tasty at all. In the menu, it says that there are bocconcini when in reality there is only one, or even half rather. The salad was very oily too.

I was here before. They have a nice terrace that is enjoyable in the summer time. The food was never their forte but they have a large beer selection so overall a nice place. However this review is not about location, food, or beer. It is based solely on the interaction with the staff. Yesterday, my friend and I, entered the place and planned to spend some time there. Inside there were about 15-20 people and at least six empty tables. The person who greeted us told us that they cannot accommodate us because they are at capacity ( remember 6 tables at least were empty) and that they want for the existing customers the best experience possible. I didn t understand if the experience was going downhill because of our presence ( this is what I m tempted to believe) or because they didn t felt like working too hard that day so taking it easy while still at work would provide an ok experience to the couple of customers inside. Anyway we left and went to another place where we haven t had this bizarre experience. Immediately after we left another couple entered the door but haven t looked back to see if they accepted them or not. Probably not. I m impressed how making business evolved in an industry that has been so affected lately. To me is like they don t care if they make a profit or not or if they will have a place to go to work tomorrow (because 15-20 customers are not enough to pay a premium spot in Ottawa). Bizarre, very bizarre.

Went to Bier Markt for the first time on my lunch today, the schnitzel was delicious and the service was fantastic. Our server Mikayla was super fast, bringing out our drinks quickly and our bill promptly. She was so kind. Great service! I would come back again.

My chicken schnitzel sandwich came out dark brown and crunchy. It was hard to chew and hard to cut. Hard to believe that they let it leave the kitchen that way -- they had to know it was badly overdone. Not at all acceptable. To their credit, the server agreed that the kitchen had failed me and comped the meal. Aside from that, the part that I ate was more bland than the description had led me to believe. The beer was fine. There was a good assortment of offerings and styles. The service was very good. The area I was in was one very large room, and the noise level was pretty high.

Enjoyed a couple beers with my homie earlier this evening. great omnipollo selection suggested by Coral, shouts out to her!

Went here for drinks and dinner with a friend and our server Daytona was amazing! She was friendly and helped us figure out which drinks to get as we both don t really drink beer. The drinks were great and before we ordered she offered a sample of the beer/cider in the cocktail so we had an idea of what to expect. We highly recommend the charcuterie board and the Paloma cocktail! My friend and I will definitely go back and I highly recommend stopping in if you re a new beer drinker and don t know where to start!

First-time diners, so set moderate expectations. Atmosphere was good despite being quiet; mind you, it is Mothers Day. Service was really good and the staff were very friendly. The food was ok, but here are some recommendations. Have pop available for kids, whether in cans or on tap. GF options were limited to only a couple of meals. Ordered the steak, but it came out with no gravy. We found out after we received the meal that it was not GF, and they had no other options (21st century and more options available than ever before). Nachos ordered with a $6 meat option, but there was only a light sprinkle of meat, and we had to search for it. Finally, the kids menu was not available on the table menu, and I had to search online. Ordered the two types of chicken schnitzel fingers but informed that one came in wings, not fingers. Maybe the wings could be substituted for the schnitzel. Overall experience was a little disappointing, despite the most helpful staff. Question: Would I go there again? Might consider it, but it would probably be in a social setting where we would be having drinks with snacks. Dietary restrictions: Coeliac options were very limited. I cool GF every night with all dishes catering to my wifes restrictions.

The taste is not good, the service is not good and the amount of food is not good. The amount of food is small compared to the price, so in reality, it is more than twice as expensive. Maybe its because Im Asian, but the portions seem to be small. White people give a lot of sheep. When I place an order, it comes too late. I think it will be difficult to go again.

Food was good. Had the special, turkey club on a pretzel bun. Was real turkey breast, not processed. Steak Frites is also good. Came with an arugula and red onion salad. I am not a fan of red onion, but this was good. Nice tangy vinaigrette as well. Steak is a thick piece, not thin and spread out so it can be cooked to something other than well done. First time I went I had schnitzel. Always a go to. Good beer selection. Service was great, I was at the bar and the server brought my 2nd beer just as I was finishing my first. I visit here every time I am in Ottawa.

I can tell this place would be poppin if it were later in the day (we went when it first opened). Great big space, large variety of beer - something for every taste. Decently priced imo considering its in a city. The poutine was not my favorite ever, but it was good and I was pleasantly surprised that they managed to coat every fry with at least something be it the gravy or cheese. I would return if I lived in the area.

Amazing atmosphere, staff were very friendly when we came in. Our bartender was Rena, she was great provided some great recommendations for drinks which was nice because I couldn t decide with all the options. Very attentive. Restaurant was clean.
