Great cozy atmosphere. Staff is fun and attentive. But the food was OK at best... The fish was heavy on the batter, but cheap on the actual fillet size. 80% of the dish is fries (see image). The bacon and cheese burger tasted dry. We asked for asked for extra sauce and mayo to make it better. The house soup was excellent 5 stars. Excellent taste and perfect for winter cold days. The beer flight is totally worth the 11$. I think you get more liquid for your money with the flight compare to a glass of single beer. Loads of house brew to choose from.
I've never had a bad meal at this restaurant. It is consistently delicious, and the staff are always super friendly. This was just my latest visit, where my friend and I had the fish. So good, and the portion was MASSIVE. Also, so well priced. You can't go wrong with Big Rig! :)
Everything was decent, from the food to the service to the ambience. Portions were large and reasonably priced, although my burger was a tad on the well done side. Onion rings were superb, and my partner’s tacos got a good review as well. Nachos could use more cheese but this is a common issue, rather unfortunately :(
This review concerns the Big Rig Kitchen & Brewery at 2750 Iris St. Ottawa. I have been there some years ago and found the food quite stale, but I thought I'll give it a try again as I was looking for a place nearby to have dinner and some drinks (went back Nov 24, 2024). I'll start with the positives. Nice decor, great beer (I had a mix of the Alpha Bomb and Bongo, highly recommend), and good music (classic rock and soul). We had Tamara, and she was pleasant and helpful. The food, like last time, didn't disappoint in how bad it was if I could say that. Nachos were okay, but the garnishes like salsa and green onion were old and bland. Then came the chicken wings. As soon as I touched them I knew there were stale from how flabby the meat was, hanging on the bones. A taste was all I could manage before a waft of old meat and stale taste overcame my taste buds. They were clearly overcooked and doused in a tasty sauce to mask the awful taste. Next came the Impostor burger which is plant based. It was served on a tray with literally rotten slices of avocado and a container of old wilted green onions, and a hefty side of greasy fries. Needless to say, I was quite hungry by now, and after having returned the wings, I made the best of it by having the burger patty at least, which tasted decent but was quite thin for the price, and threw the rest to the side. What baffles me, is that the kitchen works with such old ingredients, and if that's all they have on hand, they should have enough integrity to check those dishes before they come out, and say No, we can't serve that tonight, but we'll be happy to provide something else. Plus, serving such old meat could have serious health consequences. Awful, and will not return again even if the food was free. I'd rather go to the store and buy some beer and ground beef to make a good burger with CLEAN/FRESH ingredients at home. It's shameful how much these establishments have the gall to charge for rotten food. And yes, the place was empty.
We had a disappointing experience here. We came to celebrate a special anniversary dinner. The last time we visited big rig, they had a large menu. We were pretty disappointed to see the limited menu and now only standard pizza toppings. We beers are always good and the pizza was pretty tasty as well. The server was very inattentive. We asked for a dipping sauce 3 times and never got it. No refills on drinks and an overall unwelcoming attitude. Not sure if the poor service was just an off night, but the wholenl experience wasn't amazing.
I was very disappointed with the food On the menu the steak is photographed as huge and luscious but you get it and it looks like a quarter of what's in the photo. The fries were soggy too, looked like the oil was not up to the right temperature. The veggie in the ramekin was missing too, as seen in the photos. I recommend the pizza and chicken salad, they looked good. Don't GET THE STEAK.
Stopped in at Big Rig Kitchen before taking in the Senators game. How could we not support Senators D-man #4! Conveniently located just off the 417, we were able to easily grab a bite and then circle back for the game. Food was good and prices were on par with other pub style fare. We definitely enjoyed our meal and time at Big Rig. Our server was extremely friendly and our orders came out fast and hot. If you’re into craft beer, then plan to make a pit stop here and check out the local flavours.
Another excellent evening with awesome food, great service, clean, spacious seating with a great choice of booths, and tables. Perfect for small get togethers or large group events. They also have some of the best craft brewed offerings around.
The smash burgers are truly delicious. Big rig beers never disappoint either. Parking: The place is always busy, so parking can be a challenge at times. Food : 5/5 |
Started visiting a lot more lately as French onion soup has been a craving. The food is pretty good, great in most cases. Staff are nice, and I like a bustling atmosphere.
Nice restaurant, very good food and service! Love their calamari and pizza!!
I was at big rig a couple of weeks ago and I enjoyed my meal immensely. When it came time to pay, I paid and I gave a 20% tip. When the waitress came back to me and gave me the change, she then said to me, don t spend it all in one place. At first I thought it was funny but then the more I thought about it, I realized that she was not satisfied with her tip. I then was extremely annoyed. Who does that? Who says something like that to the customer. Honestly, this makes me not want to return to Big Rigg on Pinecrest. I have works as a server and as a manager, and I have been in customer service my entire life. Everything this waitress did was wrong and quite frankly if I was the owner of this business, I would fire her. That s how strongly I feel about this. I do not believe that I will return to this business
Such a great venue for a Christmas lunch with former colleagues! Food was delicious and service was second to none! Thank you Sonia!!
Disappointed that there are no Gluten Free indicators on the menu and not surprisingly not much at all that is GF.
Great location and beers! A really nice restaurant to go with family or friends.
Lots of fun, kind staff and to do again
This is really a 3.5 star rating with really nothing super good or bad that stands out. We came here for lunch with a group. I looked at the menu and asked one of the group what people normally come here for ... apparently beer and the patio in the summer. Which is fair. I had the smoked meat sandwich and a caesar salad for $24. I have no complaints about the food but I also have no strong recommendation given that what I ordered is essentially assembling pre-made ingredients. There were complaints at the table for overcooked chicken which makes me think that I ordered correctly. Overall if you drink, which I dont, this place might be more for you. There were lots of TVs showing American Football, which is probably fun to watch with friends and beer and chicken wings.
Great beer. Great food. Better people. You cant do any better Food
Friendly staff and nice beer. The food was good too.
The food was delicious!! Friendly service, and good beer
People with ANY dietary restrictions/allergies need to be very cautious when eating here- the server we had tonight confidently answered a question about the contents of a dish (as all ingredients were not disclosed on the menu). Someone in our group then had a reaction to the food. We d hate for someone else to experience the same, or a more serious reaction. In the end, both the server and the manager were not capable of handling the aftermath of the situation. Anyone with allergies: eat here with caution.. or better yet, dine somewhere more reputable! Dietary restrictions: Do not rely on the advice or expertise of restaurant personnel when making food choices at this location. They re not equipped to disclose accurate information about ingredients/suitability of dishes.
Alpha bomb ipa is fantastic, fish tacos are perfect. Pizza is amazing.
The best thing about our visit was Mike. Mike met us at the door, seated us and got us our drinks. Mike continued to look after us the whole time we were there. He went above and beyond, making our return visit a slam dunk! Thank you Mike, thank you Big Rig for Mike and his great service
Great pizza and beer there, NGL, I was very surprised how awesome the pizza was. Check it out :)
My 1st visit to the brewery for lunch on Sunday with my aunt and uncle. Everyone was pleased with their meals, from classic burgers to Buddha bowl, the server was excellent and for those who are interested in the brewing process the entire back wall is glass so that you can see the beer production. I gave 4/5 stars because it is a big pub, so you need to like that scene. Food notes, the Buddha bowl comes deconstructed on a plate and the different ingredients have their own sauce or seasoning. Don t get me wrong, it was yummy, but atypical and surprised me so letting you know. Also my Aunt liked that sweet potato mash was an available side, not one you see often. With the right company, this is a great option to check out!
We use to eat here more often, but recently we have gone in and the whole dining area is closed down. Why do they try to cramp you in the bar area??? Places have really fallen short after Covid when it comes to service. They charge more money and the service is crap. It has now happened three times in a short period of time that they close the dining room which is frustrating because you drive all the way there for a sit down meal and they try to stick you at the bar!!! I know the best way to vote is where I choose to pay to eat and it will no longer be here!!! Sorry not sorry big rig!!
Jen provided the best hospitality. Awesome service!!!
Good service good pizza!
Stopped in for an after work beer. Bailey was behind bar. Not only was he personable and quick but went above and beyond to get me the right beer on the right night. Cheers to the excellent service and style at Big Rig. Been before, will be back. Cheers friends. Edit: Things only getting better. Tamara, Adam and the management are tip notch. A brewpub with fantastic service and food as well as management. Will be back again and again.
I love pizza thick and calamari with plain flavor (just some salt and pepper and not lime and ... ). They brought both the same and the staff were polite and the atmosphere was nice.
Great service and great food. much appreciated
Food is delicious but it can be a bit on the pricey side (especially with a family of 4)
Good food!!!!
I went there with my mother and got the texan burger which was amazing and the fries were seasoned so well and when we went to pay the bill the server walked up and told us the bill was payed but the house and it just made my day!! 10/10 the servers were so sweat! Food
Very happy with the accommodating service we received today when we were in with a 9 person table in a bit of a rush. The whole service team chipped in to help get our group on the way quickly. Food was really good (fish tacos and French onion soup) but beware, some of the portions are outrageously huge. Like the poutine. Tried the Premium Pilsner beer and it was really solid. I like the made-in-house sodas too. Overall a great place for a meal with family and friends! Kid-friendliness: Solid kids menu
Always tasty beers! Especially he Canadian Amber. And highly recommend the fried pickles, or mozzarella sticks, or onion rings (large portions for each one) if you need a quick snack with any of their beers.
A great restaurant, great service! Menu has something for everyone. Casual pub like atmosphere and of course, good selection of their own beer. I will be back!
Good selection of their own craft beers. The space is large and well laid out and has a good-sized patio. We had pizza, fish and chips, and mac and cheese. All were considered good, 8 out of 10. The service was slower than it should have been, considering how busy it was.
Cobb Salad was amazing... Best I had in quite sometime. Food
Food was gross. Service was sooo bad. I know its a Monday but OMG!! Never going back.
We had Mac and Shrimp, and Chicken quesadillas. Both EXCELLENT choices. Served hot and fresh.
Good beer, nice atmosphere. Was pretty quiet for a Friday evening.
First off, the manager is a solid dude also the staff are beyond kind would rate 5 star s any day
Great spot to chill with friends and family
How can you constantly overcook fries, servers bring food and then disappear? Its gone downhill Im afraid. Also, I really miss the turkey dinner - it was sublime.
Fantastic micro brewery with decent food and even better service. Staff were great.
Food was good and hot, great selection of craft beers
Went with a big group, staff was awesome. Food was great, big portions and drinks were great. Get the ribs! So good. Thanks!
Met these guys recently at a craft beer festival. Super friendly and hospitable and definitely knew their stuff. I highly recommend these guys Food
Was very surprised and impressed with the quality of the food and the craft microbrews. Portions were very generous, fresh, and delicious. Staff was attentive, friendly, and personable. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area, and looking forward to going back again.
The nachos and pizza are great, our sever was even better. Great place to bring the family or a group
The food is not worth the prices. We ordered a medium-rare steak - instead, it was well-done. The meat was rubbery and overly spiced (not spicy, which may be a good thing, but with too many spices on top of the meat), and the only thing that made it bearable was the sauce. One would also expect a $29 meal to come with a hearty side dish - the side of veggies was quite tasty, but way too small for the price and quality of meat. The steak is advertised to be 7 oz, but we feel it was less than that. In all, the steak dish is simply not enough to fill even one person. We also ordered a kids meal with a pepperoni pizza and Coke. I am not sure if there was any pepperoni there at all, it looked and tasted very much like a very basic cheese pizza, and my daughter said they have better pizzas served at school. The drink had more ice than Coke, so... The establishment looks nice and has a cozy feel, but the food is sub-par, to say the least, especially for this price. I am glad we decided not to order anything else. Disappointing.
Great busy family restaurant. Food was delicious and service good.
Amazing food and service here. Their smash burgers are to die for. Will definitely come back here soon!
Good beer and food there. Any of their locations is worth a visit at least once.
This is one of my favorite places to go. Always enjoy the food, service, and the atmosphere. Have never had a bad experience.
Very limited options for a vegetarian, but I was impressed with the quality of the pizza crust. Vegetarian options: Limited
My friend and I ordered a pizza, which came quickly, but was accidentally tipped over and ruined. The server said shed replace it, I said no it was our fault we will keep it. The staff here went out of their way to make sure we had a great experience. The pizza is excellent, and the beer is top notch. Thank you. We will definitely visit again.
Fantastic take-out pizza. Tie for the best pizza in the city. You can purchase their canned beer for take-out. Hard to find a better restaurant for the price. Atmosphere in the bar is outstanding, because of Anthony at Big Rigs on Iris.
Just dont order too much, the portions are very generous but very tasty. Beer tastes fantastic!
awesome food
Make sure to check your take out as the forget things and then your fault and their food looks as if it came from a dollar store deep fryer
Our waitress was amazing! We were there for my grand daughter s birthday before shopping. We thought this would be a good place to go because it offered a variety of options. She picked steak and that was good. My daughter s picked tofu bowl that was supposed to be crunchy and it was spongy. It also had so many sauces on the plate it was too mixed up. Tazkiki with Asian is a bad combo. My other daughter had the salmon bowl and the salmon was very overcooked. I had the shrimp and noodles also a very mixed up combo of food .
Had a delicious Texas smash burger. Would highly recommend.
I used to go to Big Rig regularly but after change(s) of ownership the service and food selection has deteriorated
Came here for brunch with friends and had a great time. Staff were friendly and attentive, and my personal veggie pizza hit the spot. One of my friends came with their toddler of and staff were able to set up a high chair quickly and easily. Overall great experience! Vegetarian options: Had the veggie pizza and it was great
Great service, food was awesome, would go back again.
Wait staff was great! Fast, friendly, very helpful! Food was lacklustre. The spicy chicken burger didnt have spicy slaw on it, we didnt get the side of beans. Just felt like it was lacking when it had the potential to be amazing. Kid-friendliness: Had the kids with us, ages 18mos to 5 years. Waitress was attentive, engaged with the kids, they loved their food.
Enjoyed our dinner here, prices are very reasonable, good portions and the pizza is very good. Service is very fast. Would come back again!
Excellent food - terrible service. Ill probably be back because it was great food at a reasonable price, but not for a while.
Great pizza
Very good Beer selections, nice atmosphere food is always good as as well. Menu is BRUTAL though - NEEDS to be reworked. Photo of a 12oz Rib Eye to explain a 7 oz Baseball Sirloin, No mention at all that the Nachos can Add MEAT chicken pulled pork etc...needs more pictures Food : 5/5
Always a fun place to go for a quick lunch or supper, unfortunately the food was much better when they had the smokehouse, Now the food is just average.
The big rig is one of my favourite places to meet with friends and colleagues to enjoy the great atmosphere, great food and where the staff are just amazing! I attended a staff retirement party there last Friday where we were at least 30 people. The staff was very attentive, accommodating and super well organized for this event and everyone had a wonderful time. I would highly recommend the Big Rig for your next party or get together!!
Nice food, nice drinks. Liked it!
It was ok. Burger was great Food
Always good.
I have been coming here for years for family gatherings and client meetings, but I haven t been impressed with the quality of the food for a while now. Was just there today with a client, ordered the Big Crunch sandwich and the chicken came out very overcooked, approaching burnt actually. I should have sent it back, but didn t want to be bothered. Definitely going to be looking for a new place to bring clients I think.
Always a hit going to Big Rig, they accommodated our large group on a last minute reservation and delivered a great experience with super food and on point service. ...of course, the beer is fantastic!
Great food and service
Frozen fries that were still cold and pizza which tasted from a store not a restaurant, I make fresher and better food at home
Was nice and food was yummy.
Big Rig is not normally a place I would visit. I was here for a retirement lunch. Seeing old colleagues was great, but it became apparent that we were too loud, not ordering fast enough, and in the way of the servers. All true, and I thought it could have been handled differently to avoid frustrations. I didnt hear any complaints about the food, nor did I hear any accolades. I had the Killer Bee. Good burger. Im still not sold that I would make the visit on my own...
Yupe, this will be my last visit. Overpriced menu not worth the flavour or atmosphere.
Decided to try this place today and I was not disappointed. The food was very good , I had the pulled pork sandwich and we also got a pepperoni pizza. The place is very nice inside and I would definitely come back
Food was great, server was outstanding. Was just a little loud. Food
Went for a little date night over the weekend. Shared the deep fried pickles as appetizer. Portion was great, the batter was crispy and the pickles were juicy. 10/10. For the mains - the Texas smash burger with poutine upgrade and the Chicken sandwich with the sweet potatoes upgrade. The burger was delicious and the poutine was a great size but could use a bit more cheese for the amount of fries given. 10/10 for the burger 8/10 for the poutine. For the chicken sandwich, the batter has some type of sugar on it so it burns quickly which can make it taste over cooked. The sweet potato fries were good. 7/10 for the chicken sandwich and 8/10 for sweet potato fries. The service was excellent, the server was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu items and the order came out quickly. Total bill was around 80$ (without tip) for an app + 2 mains and 2 upgrades. Pretty standard for an evening out. Would definitely check this place out again.
Super-happy with our recent meal here. Wings were huge and perfectly cooked. Ceaser salad was more than enough for 2 - real bacon and lots of fresh parmesan cheese. Good service from friendly and helpful staff. Yummy cocktails. Looking forward to visiting again soon!
Great pizza and beer
A bit pricey but the food and beer is great.
Nice place and varieties of beer. Have been to this place before. It is a nice hangout place. Food was also good.
Used to come here once a week. Now lucky if we go once every 2-4 months. Wont be going back after today. Restaurant was 1/4 full, so wasnt busy. Arrived before 4pm. Server would only speak to my hubby. We ordered a rib dinner, pulled pork sandwich & calamari dish. We waited 53 minutes for our food to arrive!!! The pulled pork sandwich was cold, the fries you could tell had been redropped in the frier to warm them back up- so greasy. NEVER even got our calamari dish at all!! Bill was over $80 for wings, ribs, pulled pork & a sprite drink. Ridiculous. 2nd time since mid January its been bad service, we arent going back.
They were so good back when they opened, but now the food is below average, at best. I spent around $25 on a bacon cheeseburger, and fries, and it was worse than fast food equivalents that are half the price. At least they have good beer. Having something with flavour was nice. The service was really good, but I wont be back. Id rather get some cans from the LCBO and get some McDonalds. Id save money, and have a better burger.
Pretty disappointed. Came by after work for some drinks and a bite to eat. Bartender with the glasses served my friend and I in the lounge area next to the bar and had a bad attitude from the jump. Took at least a good 10 minutes after being seated to just be greeted by the guy even though we were located directly at the bench facing the bar. Seemed to be having a bad day or something. We ordered our drinks which were the caesars with the fried pickle. They arrived after 10 minutes and were pretty watered down. My girlfriend mentioned it to the bartender and he rolled his eyes and almost seemed offended. Stated he made the drinks and had to wait for the deep fried pickle from the kitchen to be made so the ice had melted and that s why it was watered down. Said and I quote I don t care, I can make you a new one if you want . He seemed pissed so we didn t bother getting new drinks. Pretty strange behaviour. Maybe try making your drinks after the pickles are ready? Could help with the situation I would imagine. Moved on from that, then he came back over 5 minutes later and took my order. The guy asked me twice what I wanted and I answered twice that I wanted the pulled pork poutine. He ended up bringing me the smoked meat poutine. I was confused at what I was looking at and once I confirmed it was not the correct order after a minute, I ended up handing it back to a different bartender as our guy wasn t around. Other bartender was nice and immediately exchanged it for the right one I ordered which didn t take long. Cranky bartender then came by and noticed my plate being gone and asked where it was. I told him he gave me the wrong poutine and that I wanted the pulled pork and even mentioned that he had asked me twice. He rolled his eyes again and said I could have sworn you said smoked meat instead of apologizing then walked away. Guy had a wicked bad attitude and ruined the whole vibe the entire time we were there. Definitely didn t order a second drink and will definitely not be returning. Also, lower your tip options. Guy didn t even deserve a tip let alone one starting at 15%. Gave the guy 10%. We were honestly very confused why he was so rude with us when all we wanted were some drinks and food and all we were met with was a bad attitude and terrible service.
Not the best experience, food came out cold.
Great experience! Grace was friendly and attentive! Will definitely be returning! Food
I have been multiple times before with no issues, yesterday I called 10 times over 30 min nobody picked up the phone. When I went to the restaurant on a Saturday night they said they were too busy to do takeout. This is understandable if there is staffing issues etc. however when I asked why no one was picking up the phone the staff replied since they weren t doing takeout they were not picking up the phone that day. No apologies awful service will not be coming back.
We ve been a few times and it s been up and down. It wasn t busy for a Sunday evening but takeout seemed to be hopping. It was around 5:30ish. Manager seated us and server was quick to get to us. The food came very quickly so that was no issue. I had the Senator burger while my daughter had the Smash burger with a lettuce bun. I upgraded to Onions rings instead of fries. Presentation was a bit different but not sure if portions sizes have gone down but it seemed a bit lacking. My daughter s house salad was heavy on the onions. Overall it wasn t bad. A manager had to come and clear the table but we were in/out quick enough so no real complaints. Parking: In a strip mall so all depends on how busy the mall is.
The service is hit and miss. We had to ask help from other waiters because ours never came back (to ask if we required anything else after being served). The menu is a bit pricey, but the food and the beers are very good.
Dropped in for dinner. Service was great and food - Budda Bowl and Fish and Chips were well presented, adequate portions and tasteful. Cost was responsible for experience.
One of the best burgers out there.
Had the French Onion Soup it was delicious!
Beer is fantastic and food is decent, but a bit pricey.
Love Big Rig good food good draft the Big Rig classic pizza is my favourite but never disappointed with anything on their menu.
This restaurant is registered with MC as a grocery store. Thats what my MC invoice shows and thats what my MC bank confirmed. Anyone knows why? Can I run a gas station business and register as a boutique?
Your waiting for everything from our service to show up drink orders and food orders I explained I was a diabetic and I needed to eat, I gave my order and it took her 40 minutes to bring me a plate of small french fries . The restaurant was not that busy more than half empty at the time. Food
Ordered Nachos and Budha Bowl. Nachos were dry. Hardly anything on them but cheese. Few beans and Jalapeños were dry. Budha bowl had rice that was uncooked. Broccoli was uncooked. Tofu was salty. Coleslaw was cabbage with blobs of mayo. This is the first review for a restaurant that I have ever written. Maybe today was an off day but this was a bad experience! Menu looked great but nothing good about it
Great food!
Really loved the vegetarian food options here! The bean burger was amazing, along with the portobello mushroom burger. Really enjoyed the dark brewed beer and great customer service!
Bouddah Bowl was underwhelming and bland. Carrots were not pickled, no poblano in the slaw and no cilantro in the dish at all. Broccoli seemed like it wasnt washed properly as it was gritty and seemed like it had sand in it. No good...take it off the menu
Tasty beer and great pizza!
Server was great and the beers were even better
Delicious club sandwich!
Great Brew.Pub!
Good food, good service at lunch, butter chicken was a large portion and well-prepared, music was a little loud for conversation, but no worse than most places.
The quality of the food has been going downhill for awhile now. I keep having negative experiences every time I come. Today, some of my battered shrimp tasted like rotten bread and the chocolate sauce on my cake tasted rancid. I ve also had raw pizza served to me twice and instead of baking the pizza, they simply broiled it, and served it back to me raw, indicating lack of experience in the kitchen. The presentation of the food is also lacking; it just looks like everything was slapped onto a plate, quickly, to get rid of orders as fast as possible. I m losing trust in the food that is being served and don t believe they care about the quality. I m just kinda scared to order food now because of this. There needs to be more due diligence on checking when food has gone bad and making checks on the food coming out of the kitchen.
First time there was amazing. Second and third time, not impressed. Second time, online search says the restaurant was open, but when I arrived, chairs were on the tables and it was dark. Nothing to indicate it was open, so I left. Third time, I was seated and forgotten. Finally had my order taken about 15 minutes after I was seated. They burned my pizza and had to remake it, doubling my time there. Second pizza was close to being burned.
Fish and chips was tasteless and dry. Fries overcooked and lukewarm. Not an enjoyable experience and not cheap. Disappointed.
Amazing food with a nice atmosphere
Stopped in for take home beers. Great pints.
The food is great. Service is great. My only complaint would the the lighting. Its very bright with no diffusion.
Big Rigs Kitchen & Brewery was a good stop prior to embarking on our 4.5 hour drive home to Toronto. We stopped by the Shell gas station across the restaurant for a fuel stop and turned onto the road to start our drive home. However, immediately after pulling onto the road, there was a large snow squall that made driving our 2002 Honda Civic DX a poor choice. Instead, we pulled back into the gas station and looked for a place to eat, lo and behold, Big Rigs was right ahead. We entered the restaurant and were seated quite quickly. There was a decent selection of food and their homemade drinks available for purchase. I went with the Italiano Mac & Cheese, which came with some creamy cheese, peppers, and plenty of Italian sausage balls. The flavours blended well, and nothing overpowered one another. I would say that it was on the milder side, but there were condiments such as salt, pepper, and pepper flakes for you to use. I just used a bit of black pepper. Another one of us ordered a pizza, which you can see through the images attached. It looked pretty good, although I didn t taste it so I cannot comment on taste. We also shared an order of nachos. They tasted excellent. Plenty of guacamole, salsa and sour cream for the table. Cheese on point! Overall, service was acceptable. The wait staff were friendly and welcoming. The environment was similar to comparable restaurants and more than sufficient for us. I would recommend eating here as a casual night meal or on your travels like us. Context: We got home around 1:00 A.M. that night (or technically the next morning ) admist another snow squall near between Crosby and Smith Falls, on the Hwy 15 southwest route, but the 401 was clear enough to traverse home. Parking: Small Plaza.
Food is generally good service is always hit or miss but never had a bad experience. We regularly go.
Great beer great atmosphere
Decent, but not really good. In fairness though, I rate myself one star for thinking it might be anything but that.
I love the Big Rig. I have yet to have anything on their menu that wasnt good and their beer is always good! If you like pizza, try the Big Rig Classic, on standard crust. My go to. I get a large so I have leftovers for home. Delicious! Food
Pretty typical sports bar/pub type atmosphere, food was average but service was good
Pizzas are very good
Good food and friendly service. Atmosphere is fun!
Ive been here a couple of times, both during lunch time and in the evenings, and it was always very pleasant. Great selection of beers and the kitchen has something for every taste to go along with it, all for fair prices. The service has always been excellent throughout, even when we came with larger groups of people.
I had pizza with a thin crust and it was really good. A tad expensive but I also enjoyed there own beer.
Their pizzas are amazing!! Fast and friendly service Parking can be tight though. Food
Great restaurant/brewery located in a neighborhood so within walking distance. Great selection and take on bar food. The sliders are delicious. Great place to catch up with friends. Good beers and they offer dishes that pair with their own beers. Prompt and friendly service, will be back with more friends!
Bongo beer is the best! And Bongo Bomb is the second best!
I had a fantastic time at Big Rig Kitchen and Brewery, and Id rate it 4 stars. The real star of the show was adding pulled pork to their pizza. While the rest of the menu was good, this pizza truly stood out and has had me come back several times. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere was typical, If you go, definitely dont miss the pulled pork pizza
Great place to stop into for a snack and a hockey game.
We were celebrating my God sons 31st. We all had a blast. The food was good. The beer was great . Our waitress was incredible!. Thank you all for making our night great. Oh and lets not forget to thank the team in the kitchen.
I am very disappointed in the menu changes made since the last time I went to Big Rig. They used to make an amazing Pad Thai which was no longer available. Their honey garlic chicken wings are nothing like they used to be either. I found them now to be very tough and dry. Overall the portion sizes are still decent and pricing OK. But sad to say this has gone from a place I would be excited about to meh its OK.
Best pizza in the city. Kaitlin always takes fantastic care of me.
Very soggy food poor quality had fish and chips and smoke meat platter both where not very good. Even the drinks where off ceaser and blue lagoon
Portions OK size but options are only so so. I know it is a brewery so I had an amber beer to help wash down but would have been nice to also have a wine by the glass option. Service was good. Parking: Popular spot with somewhat limited parking.
Six of us for dinner last night, food was awesome (too much of it, we all left with extra!) Service from Katy (AKA Kim and Boss Lady) was above expectation with her pleasant and humorous style. She made awesome recommendations and all 6 of us enjoyed our meals! We will all go again!
Love the French Onion Soup and the Buffalo Chicken Pizza here. Its always amazing.
I dont do reviews but long time customer but just had the Club Sandwich for the first time and its probably the best I ever had. That is all...
Very good place to the lunch and dinner and Christmas party.
Our go to place for company events. Great beer, very good food. Service is always great and welcoming
Definitely great for beer and meat lovers the food is excellent and a decent price. Service is friendly and great. We have had troubles getting a table in the past between being told we cant make a reservation sometimes but we need one other times.
Enjoyed the nachos and pizza was delicious. Must visit with friends and family. The place has a great vibe. Food : 5/5
Good food, lots of meat options not alot of vegetarian They are back to their old coconut cream pie recipe again but I would like more dessert options Not really a kid environment Lots of beer Vegetarian options: Not many Kid-friendliness: Not for young kids but teens are fine. Wheelchair accessibility: The door buttons did not work and the door is really hard to open. Not wheelchair accessible
The burger was huge and delicious. Also the new non alcohol brugazi is very good.
