SO delicious. We had every little bite!!
Excellent Ethiopian food. Reminds me of a place by my house in US. I got the lamb tibs and it was perfectly cooked. Not much chicken options.
The food was old, no flavour at all. And everything was cold. The place was very dark and dusty. The service was terrible and food was expensive. I went for gluten free but it was not a good experience.
Pretty disappointing experience. Used to be a regular when they were a buffet near Elgin and the quality of the food used to be amazing. Service is still pretty friendly and all but the quality of the food now has really dropped. Last two times all of the lentil dishes were stale and dry and tasted a bit old, like frozen or in the fridge and microwaved. Portion sizes were ok. Overall quality and taste of food has degraded in a negative way. Hope they can work on quality again. They used to be really good.
Pretty disappointed. I called and ordered a vegetarian platter for 2 off their lunch menu (as opposed to two individual ones, since it comes back a bit cheaper). When I got there, they had prepared two individual platters instead which was not that big of a deal, except there were much more expensive than what was listed online (as individuals); I ended up paying over $45 total. On top of this, the portions were not only small (attached is a picture of one of the platters) but the food really wasn't great - it was cold and oily, almost like it was the leftovers from the bottom of the pot from the night before. I had previously tried them when they had a location on Laurier and had loved it, so this was definitely unexpected.
Went as a group of 5 and shared the platter d'afrique; we really liked how it could scale for more people as necessary! was a wonderful social experience and the food was delicious.
I am not sure if it was the fact that I went there late or it is generally that way, but the place was empty (had no other customers) dinning in, food was okayish but nothing special. I did not get the Ethiopian food experience I wanted.
Really wanted to enjoy some Ethiopian cuisine tonight. Stumbled across this place while i was checking out Osmow's next door. What a disappointment! Had the veggie platter and most of the veggie varieties were cool to cold (where it shouldn't) - lentils had gone bad and was sour - and most lack good taste. Place was almost empty with 3 patrons (which was fine as i wanted a low key place anyway). Definitely had better Ethiopian! Pls eat with caution here.

Very tasteful authentic African food.
A great place to eat. The servings are big and served in a beautiful traditional Ethiopian basket. Everything was delicious and not too spicy like some other restaurants. I loved the atmosphere and the friendly staff. Will eat here again.

We shared the Afrique platter (I believe that s what it s called) and one appetizer with 3 friends and it was more than enough food between us! It was my first time trying Ethiopian food and it was an incredible experience, service was great and the server was very helpful in recommending things for us to try since it was our first time. I recommended this place to a friend and she loved it too, I d definitely go again!

I was excited to try this restaurant based on the previous reviews, but it was a serious disappointment. The restaurant was not busy, but the staff was inattentive. The vegetarian platter was cold when it arrived at the table and the dishes were not well seasoned.
The service was top notch!! Food is even more amazing!! The vibe is really nice in the restaurant as well with the decorations and culture. I would recommend 1000%. Vegetarian options: There are over 7 different vegetarian/vegan options!!!

Beautiful restaurant with a fantastic staff and easily the best Ethiopian restaurant in the city! I would highly recommend to anyone who is branching out to try new kinds of food, as well as to anyone whom is looking to have some real Ethiopian food!

Great restaurant with very nice owner. You almost miss the restaurant if you cant find it on Google Maps. We had the mixed platter for two, be careful a little spicy but very tasty!

Had dinner here, and the Ethiopian food served was a new gastronomic experience to me. The teff injera, served along with the main portion, looked a lot like the South Indian dosa but tasted different. In Ethiopia and Eritrea, teff is said to be the common cereal used to make injera. Teff, among the first kind of grains domesticated by humans, resembles millet. Its scientific name: Eragrostis teff.

Great restaurant under new all-woman management! The food was delicious and came out quickly, we got the DAfrique platter and Vegetarian platter to get a taste of everything (comfortably served 3 people). The staff had great service and were very attentive. They had nice music playing and since it is a second floor location it felt more private from the street and pedestrians. A new, woman run restaurant with excellent vegetarian food. I assume the meat dishes would be equally good. The injera is particularly good. If you want to try Ethiopian food for the first time, this is a good place to start. Staff is friendly and would help you out. If you already know Ethiopian food, then this is a welcome option for dining, especially if youre looking for vegetarian. Vegetarian options: Yummy ... and a change from the usual veggie burger level of food generally available in this price range

The chef not only captures the essence of home-cooked meals but she elevates them to new heights, surpassing even my mothers cooking (shhh) DAfrique is a must-visit in Ottawa. This place is amazing, the owners are so warm and welcoming. The food, oh man, the food, freaking delicious. We had the platter and Tibbs. Everything is fresh and perfectly spiced. If you like Ethiopian go here, if you havent tried Ethiopian go here, seriously they will not disappoint.

This has always been my best restaurant and the ambience is also a plus but the food quality the last 4 times I have been there has been wanting. The flavouring/chef has changed and when you order Uber eats the packaging is laughable. My last Uber eats I received my food on a paper plate sandwich i instead of the usual take away. I can accept that the packaging of the food taste was as good as before. Still love the place but needs a bit of improvement
