Great food, friendly staff and always different events every night of the week! Live Music Night on Thursdays has some of the best musicians Ottawa has to offer!! Also, Karaoke on Tuesdays, Comedy Shows on Wednesdays and DJs on Fridays and Sundays. Great place to chill, dance or have a delicious meal! Love the Vibe at IL Vicolo!

Hosted a show there recently and the staff were great, the location is decent and the atmosphere was on point as well.

A nice little restaurant with friendly and welcoming staffs perfect for a date night. We ordered the Duck Confit and Chicken Pasta which was delicious. Will definitely love to visit again.

Love this place! Friends and I have come here twice and both times it was an amazing experience. The bartenders had great mixed drinks and were hilarious. They were joking around and everyone had great times. They also played great music, they played a really nice variety of genres and even let us pick songs. 100% recommend if youre looking for a good bar experience

I dont know how to rate this restaurant I got there and waited. I asked the lady inside when your opening. The lady answered should be open but i cant open unless a responsible is here. Hearing this we went elsewhere.

Charming little restaurant, very nice atmosphere and we received very good advice. Excellent music! I recommend the Holy Shitake.

The cocktails (classic and house) were not drinkable. The restaurant DARE to ask for a 25% tip when it is impossible for us to receive our orders before at least 35 minutes and so on. Employees are on their phones behind the bar eating customers food rather than serving them. Disappointing.

We booked weeks in advance the backroom for a friends 40th. Please do not look at their current website as it is completely inaccurate, not the same menu, no gluten free options, the backroom looks like a dingy basement unlike the picutres. Location: This is about the only good thing going for them, they have a nice spot conveniently located right by a nice and affordable indoor parking lot. Service: Non-existant. I wish I had taken pictures of how filthy the place was when we got there. Nothing was set up although we booked well in advance... My wife and I showed up before their staff did, that was our first impression, while waiting we also kept seeing rats in their trash outside that is just there in plain sight next to the outdoor dining areas, there is sandbags and garbage in what was possibly once an operational fountain. They didnt have anything ready, floors needed to be mopped, fruit flies everywhere, sticky tables.. another GUEST had to go and grab cutlery, napkins, glassware (which was dirty, but in a clean area (lipstick and wine smell on the glasses)), etc.. When the night began they brought wings and never cleared any table, it was filthy all night long, after we order their garbage pizza, they never cleared the tables, they never offered us water, we had to get up every time we wanted a drink and that too was limited, the bartender had 2 guests fighting over the last redbull, their beer taps didnt work, their POS machine didnt work, and the music wasnt working until 3 hours in. Food: I know of a few guests that went to McDonalds on their way back home as the food was pretty bland and either burnt or under cooked. They had 1 heineken, stella and corona, you had to ask for a lime for your corona and seem to inconvience the barmaid. We ordered at 7:30 and I didnt get my pizza until 9:15.. 4 of us didnt get it until there.. the owners response was people dont like eating past 9??? like are you serious? Your slogan under your Backroom sign says Events venue you cant even handle 20 people, what a joke. Atmosphere: Based on pics and other guests previous experience, it sounded fun and like a great place, when we got there it didnt feel like the old place it used to be, not even close. Big fat 0 for atmosphere. Take that 1 star because Id give a 0 if I could.. AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID unless you like eating fruit flies and garbage, and like waiting 2 hours for your sub-par pizza.

Being here felt like a fever dream almost every drink we wanted to order was out of stock and one of my friends ordered an old fashioned and the server said Honestly, I make a really really bad old fashioned. Like really bad. so he had to order something else. Overall a funny story to tell - but maybe keep ingredients in stock for your drink menu and train your staff :P

Great food, service and ambience

We had a reservation for 15 on a busy Friday night and Ali was ready for us with table set on the patio. Our server Dave was awesome, fun and accommodating. Above all food was delicious and plentiful. Great spot!

Really cool restaurant, cozy place and mood with lights, plants and even a little pond, separated from the street so it isnt noisy. A large choice of dishes on the cart, and a very friendly staff even with credit cart problem. I highly recommend

Went in on a cold -25c night in February and was made to feel like family. Warm cozy atmosphere , friendly wait staff ..The Pizza was as a good as ive had anywhere , super fresh top notch ingredients cooked to perfection... will be my forever go to place when in Ottawa

A small cozy bistro cabin and patio tucked in between two buildings. The lighting and warmth of the interior is very comfy and easy on the eye. The bartender was very professional and welcoming. Excellent mixology on his part! Every cocktail I ordered was perfect in ratio. The three cheese pizza here is bold and full of flavour. I have eaten many pizzas in my life time and I have longed to see a restaurant bold enough to put Gorgonzola on their cheese pizzas. A very refined taste.

We were in Ottawa in September and met the most WONDERFUL host Raj. He is friendly, helpul and even taught us about Rugby!. His passion for his craft is amazing. The pizza is probably the best we have ever had. We went back a second time and had the Tagene ....you must try this dish. I had lamb and my wife had the chicken. They were both so incredibly flavorful. Thank you Raj and Salim for an incredible experience in Moroccan cuisine and genuine friendship.

My girlfriend and I had a beautiful experience at Il Vicolo. The service was fast, and the people were kind and genuine. We split the chicken tagine, the dish comes with flat bread, all of which was freshly made. We had a great chat with the owner who was friendly, positive and personable. We will definitely be going back!

Delicious succulent food! We ordered the Moroccan speciality Tagine (chicken and beef halal options available!) and it was sooo good. Vegetarian options: Halal option as available! It was delicious :) Kid-friendliness: The host helped us bring our stroller in and was so nice to our toddler

Very good service. Very respectful of health guidelines. Very good pizza. The crust could be thinner and more crunchy especially for the 4 cheese. But the taste was great.

The glasses had fingerprints all over them and my glass smelled and tasted like wine , our table was wobbly and they burnt the outside of my pizza . Would not recommend. Very disappointed.

BEST VEGAN/GLUTEN FREE PIZZA IN OTTAWA!! only complaint is that the kitchen burnt the edges of the pizza, which I understand the gluten free dough is usually harder to cook but it was still great. would recommend! Best part of the night was our amazing server, Caterina. She was very attentive and made sure we had everything we wanted, before even asking.

Asked the host if the kitchen was still open before they seated us. After being ignored for about 15 minutes the waitress finally comes by and tells us the kitchen has been closed for over an hour? Um okay?? Thanks for wasting our time.

Phoned in to ask a few simple and straightforward questions that were met with a flustered and unprofessional tone I don t understand why this person is in the service industry if they re unwilling to spend a moment providing specific service details for customers. Worst service I ve ever experienced in my life that I actually had to write a review... was seated at a table at 8:00P.M didn t get my first drink until 9:00 after asking twice and being told they had never got my order. Placed my order for starters and main meal, got my appetizer 30 minutes later and ended up telling them to give me my pizza to go. Finally got my pizza at 10:30. Owner was talking to friends and didn t take care of staff. If you want service this is not the place.

We were hosting a meet and greet event prior to our sons wedding in Ottawa and wanted an outdoor venue for this with a casual atmosphere. I had to arrange this prior to our arrival from western Canada and so sent out numerous emails to ByWard Market venues which had patios. Ali from Il Vicolo contacted me promptly and was very helpful in organizing our event. It was obvious that they have done numerous of these types of things. The venue was perfect! A lovely outdoor patio between two buildings on Clarence Street plus a cozy indoor space in which to order your refreshments. We arranged for a certain number of pizzas plus drink coupons and the whole event went off beautifully so that we all enjoyed ourselves. The pizzas were very good and numerous guests said they were the best theyd ever eaten. The whole thing was organized very professionally, partly by email and partly by phone conversation, and I felt that we were in good hands. Plus, the event, being outside, fulfilled our need to socially distance although all of our attendees had been vaccinated. Next time we are in Ottawa we will definitely stop by again for dinner at Il Vicolo. The front outdoor patio under a tent and with upholstered furnishings is very inviting, and we want to eat their pizza again! Thanks to Ali, David and all of the staff at Il Vicolo for making our event such a success!

Absolutely the worst under cooked pizza. Service was in a different time zone. 90 minutes for a 3 min pizza. I dont recommend waitsting your time and money on garbage.

Yesterday night, my friends and I witnessed one of the restaurant owners speaking poorly to one of their employees who happened to serve our table(a super sweet guy) . While our waiter was simply trying to disinfect the table next to us with the help of the owner. We heard the owner tell him Don t tell me what to do, I tell you what to do! . It left my friends and I furious! It ruined the whole mood. Also our waiter was working really hard that night since it was quite busy and they only had 2 servers working that day. All I m saying is, YOU DO NOT SPEAK TO YOUR EMPLOYEES IN THAT MANNER! Matter of fact, you do not talk to ANYONE in that manner. It costs nothing for you to be kind. How you treat your employees is a reflection of yourself and your business! Do better! Note: I Just want to clarify, the owner I m referring to is a bald headed man in his late 40 s. I was able to ask around and was told that he comes once in a blue moon, so it s very rare for him to be around. I forgot our waiters name but he had long hair slicked back. To our waiter that night, Thank you so much for your awesome service. You re amazing! Claudia.

Pricey, but good. The Seth Rogen cocktail was delicious, and my pizza (pepperoni) was pretty good. The service was excellent. I cant recall our servers name but he offered to take a photo of the table when he saw me trying to get a shot of us. That said, the calabrese (pesto and salami) pizza someone at my table had was almost inedible because of how salty it was.

The Holy Shiitake pizza is a must have!

This is one of the best places I have ever been for pizza, but most importantly for service! I have been celebrating my birthday for 2 years in a row there and they make me feel so special every time! Seriously impressed with the pizza especially at the no catch tuesdays price ($10)! I had the carne and my friends ordered vegetarian and also the carne. They were so delicious and generous with the toppings. Vegan cheese and gluten free crust are also at no extra charge. The staff are very friendly and attentive although it was kind of weird how the washroom was in the other building and you have to go upstairs. It s no big deal, but you do have to go outside to get to the other building. There s free wifi and adequate seating spaces. What s not to love about this place?

I have had multiple orders cancelled by the restaurant on Uber Eats on separate occasions, usually 10 mins after I d ordered and put my phone down thinking the food was on the way. Very frustrating to find out well after I ordered and after my credit card has notified me of payment that the order has not been accepted. I have never experienced this with any other restaurant on Uber Eats - other restaurants list themselves as unavailable if they are unable to take outside orders, which is the appropriate way to do business. I will always order from Fiazza from now on.

I went in the evening with a friend. We were walking by on the street and approached by a very charming young man who worked there, who explained the specials and deals. We sat down and had some cocktails and drinks. The service was outstanding. Although they were busy and had multiple customers they remembered and used our names throughout, and took the time to chat about the business and the food. Also tried the meatballs which were made to order and delicious. The music and decor were just right - the place had an excellent vibe and the lighting was perfect. In a city that overall doesnt deliver great customer dining service, my experience at Il Vicolo was a refreshing reminder that the art does live on.

Had the margarita pizza and wasnt overly impressed. The pizza seemed undercooked and it was soggy when you lifted it up. The basil was very little - not sure why they skimped on the basil when its the key ingredient for a margarita pizza! It was good, but not great. Fix the little things and pay attention to detail if you want customers to come back.

Good place for lunch after youve been walking around downtown all morning... different types of pizzas, we had the Margherita and Vegetarian, both were made with a thin crust and were quite delicious.

In my experience, there are only one or two places where one can find a decent neapolitan pizza here in the city, so I was extremely happy to discover this place which is somewhat tucked-away in the heart of the byward market. Ive gone back three or four times since my initial visit and Ive tried a variety of the pizza, and was really satisfied with all of them. Not much more to say than that, go check them out for yourself if you want an amazing thin crust pie! The service has been amazing every time Ive gone as well, extremely friendly and helpful staff.

Wow wow wow. What an ambiance, you get a really lax feeling when you walk in. This place was set up just perfect. Music is great and the staff are amazing. I have had a chance to uave the pizza there and yes it truly is amazing and our server Younis gave me great recommendations. Even the wifey loved it. I will definitely go back again.

Best pizza in town! Fresh, quality ingredients and you can literally watch your pizza being made in front of you in the oven at the back of the restaurant. Cozy, cabin feel and you will be treated like family the moment you walk in. Definitely a place you must try out in the market if you re a fan of pizza and Italian-style apps.

We found this place as we were walking around the area, initially wanted to visit Bennys Bistro, but didnt realize they close at 2:30PM. This is an outdoor patio, with a covered area by the bar, an overall casual place. With the weather hovering in the high 20s today, I didnt mind the outdoor seating. The pizza here was thin crusted, and cheese melted nicely! I would say their service can be notched up a little, since one of the servers was casually chilling at a table in the back, and another at the bar was too busy chatting with a client the entire time we were there to notice we wanted to ask for the bill for a while already... It was a nice casual place to stop by, but I wouldnt say Im hyped up to come back again.

The servers (think they were the owners actually) were more interested in flirting with a girl at the bar than serving us. We were the only other people seated in the restaurant. We each ordered a pizza and they took quite a while to be served. The worst part was the food itself, we both ordered a different type of pizza and both selections just tasted like salt. Worst wood fired pizza Ive ever tasted, and we both felt sick all night afterwards. Very disappointing. Original review: Have really been looking forward to trying this place out. Unfortunately, both times Ive tried to go here to eat, they were closed during their business hours. First time was on a Friday night at 9 PM (theyre supposed to be open until 2AM) and they were just closing the gate as we walked up, it was a nice summer night so not sure why they were closing early. Looked like there was staff sitting around the bar drinking as they closed. Second time was 6 PM on a Saturday (once again.. supposed to be open, and it was nice outside). First time was whatever, I understand that businesses cant always follow their hours for one reason or another, but having this happen multiple times within a month isnt good for customers who are coming to the market specifically to try your restaurant. Good thing theres lots of other great places to eat near this location.
