We have always had great experiences at your establishment in the past. Unfortunately, our recent experiences we were left feeling deceived and dissatisfied. The first occasion was on October 30th. We arrived, excited to enjoy our meal, only to find out that only wings were being served that day. This was a huge disappointment as we had been looking forward to the variety and quality we had previously enjoyed. This past Saturday, we made another reservation, eager to enjoy the plantains and ribs, which were key reasons for our visit. However, upon arrival, we were informed that both the plantains and ribs were unavailable. This, again, was very disappointing as these items were part of the main reason we chose to dine with you on this occasion. We understand that staff limitation or food shortages can happen, but we did not expect these issues to affect at the opening on Saturday. We truly value your restaurant and hope that adjustments can help restore the great experiences weve had in the past.

I had shrimp tacos and they were so yummy! I also asked for a double shot neat of 1800 Reposado--the waiter brought it over in the most elegant glass over a mirror tray that shimmered and dazzled as it made its way over to me while traditional nostalgic Mexican music from Guadalajara played.

Service was quick and polite. But not a place for foodies. More a place for drinks and 20 some to party or enjoy a good time. The music was very loud. The food was horrendous. First, we got there at opening and already there were things not available on the menu. The appetizers were really subpar. The crispy calamari tasted like they had just been unfrozen. The batter was excessive. Main course came, the veggies were under cooked, my salmon overcooked and didn t taste fresh. It came with a salad served with cucumbers and tomatoes that looked as though they had been sitting out for a while. Very mushy. I tasted it once and left the salad. My friend barely touched her burger and didn t like the food either. We were having a good time otherwise and didn t complain to anyone as we didn t want to ruin it for staff or our party. They came often to ask if the food was ok and I didn t comment as too much was wrong. I had given up. My recommendation to this place is to limit it s menu options but to propose a few prepared really well. Otherwise I do not recommend it and will not go back. TBH I m probably not their target clientele either. I went home and made myself dinner.

A Great Spot for Celebrations! I recently attended a party for a friend here, and the experience was fantastic. The staff were incredibly accommodating, going above and beyond to ensure everything went smoothly. Their attention to detail and exceptional service made the event truly special. Overall, I d give my experience a 4/5 and highly recommend this spot for hosting celebrations!

Made reservations for 6pm Sat evening. Got a call just after 5:30pm to let us know because of kitchen equipment malfunctioning, the reservation was pushed forward to 6:30pm. Got there, was seated and immediately asked to move as a couple a table over were arguing LOUDLY- not a pleasant start to the evening! Another couple left when seated at the same table. The manager did nothing to ask the fighting couple to stop. Sitting away, we could still hear the couple, making for an uncomfortable dining experience. It was our anniversary, and asked for a certain message on the dessert plate. They wrote the wrong message on the plate as well. Shrimp linguine was starchy and stuck together. Asked for ketchup for fries, was offered a spicy mayo instead. Will not be returning!

Never been more disappointed Saw this place on Instagram it looked really good, the food looked good and the atmosphere looked nice. Go there for the first time, the service was terrible. Our server was behind the bar drinking as we are still waiting on our drinks/refills. The food was not good, chicken was overcooked and so were the shrimp. For the price I would also expect fresh ingredients, the shrimp were definitely frozen. The sauce for both dishes was not good. The entire experience was disappointing. I unfortunately would not recommend this place and will not be going back :(

Very bad service, almost 1 hour wait for just chicken wings!! I had to leave without it! I still ordered pineapple juice, which was ROTTEN!!! Not good at all! Just disappointed, my expectations were higher for this place!

POOR!!! This restaurant was excellent but since the change of manager... We went to eat... it took 2 hours to receive our food which was cold and tasteless with horrible presentation. We were in a corner of the restaurant without heating so it was cold for a November evening. One person on our table received a salad with the lettuce core uncut so the salad was not washed. Afterwards, they gave my already started dish that I didnt like to the next table. They brought one persons dessert off the table BEFORE their entree. Honestly, it was mediocre. The quality of food has declined but prices continue to rise. I thank the honesty of the servers and the manager because he accommodated us with discounts on the bill. But... I will NEVER return.

Ever since the recent staff changes, the quality of the food has dropped significantly, which is disappointing as a regular customer. On a positive note, the new bottle girls and staff are wonderful; their energy and service are top-notch, and they work hard to create a great experience for everyone. However, I ve seen troubling posts on social media and have spoken to former staff members who confirmed that they weren t getting paid properly, including their tips. It s disheartening to see such dedicated staff being treated unfairly by management. These girls deserve to be compensated fairly for their hard work. Until management steps up and ensures these employees are paid what they re owed, I can t see myself returning.

The waitresses were nice and on the ball. However, the food was slow coming out and our waiter was apologetic but seemed disorganised in general. We ordered the steak, which we asked for medium rare and it came out medium to well.

We only popped in for a drink. The drinks were okay. Not the best, not the worst weve had. Margarita tasted like a lime mix. Kind of sweet, not quite tart enough.

Food was absolutely delicious, the shrimp are huge. The feta dip is one of the most amazing dishes I ve had in a very long time. I had a conversation with the manger very down to earth man, very polite I would come here every week.

I review it as a bar not restaurant. I got there around midnight. Upstairs was open to patrons. This is not a dance bar but rather a pop where people stand and talk. There was a $10 cover charge to enter the bar (not sure for what since it is not a dance bar). I checked in downstairs too. Very darks with lots of empty dining tables. No dance stage. I left after 15 minutes. Walking on Clarence or in the market was a lot more fun than staying in this bar.

I had a birthday dinner at the restaurant this weekend. It was really beautiful, the food was great and the mocktails were delicious. Definitely would recommend

The food and service was amazing, I had chicken wings with hot sauce on the side ( I believe that the hot sauce is handmade because it tested nice and fresh), the fries is to die for loved it. I came here for a bite after work. Ive had appetizers and drinks on a different occasions but I wanted tried something for dinner. I tried the Peri-Peri ribs and was impressed. I appreciated the service by Tito, and Patrick, as well as Lana who seated me. I will be back!

Amazing food/service experience ever, I loved it. Delicious food, generous portions, great coktails as well. I will definitely come back! Only suggestion is : since the waiting time for the food to be ready is quite long (which I understand since they are all fresh cooked) it would be great to have some appetizer or bread/butter to eat meanwhile. Went for a date night and was our first time dining in byward and we loved it!! We go out quite a bit so hard to impress a little. We both got steaks that could not have been better, and the mashed potatoes were amazing!! They gave us a complimentary champagne glass when we first sat down which was such a great little thing they did that made us have a great first impression. I believe our servers name was Titto and he was so kind and friendly we loved him. Loved the outfits of the severs, went nicely with the vibe of restaurant. Perfect timing for everything, nothing was rushed, food came out at a great time.The vibes of the restaurant was so nice, classy and chic. Went here on a whim for wing night and can say that they were pretty good and the prices are quite affordable for all you can eat. Overall, the wings are well worth the price and worth getting at least once.

Unbelieveble staff and security abuses. Beware of Keisha a repeat assaulter. A wonderful night with friends on the patio was utterly ruined by appalling staff behaviour. One employee repeatedly bumped into us, then spilled a drink all over my dress. Frustrated, I simply vented to my friend about the constant disruption. Incredibly, another staff member, completely out of line, inserted herself and threatened to have us thrown out. This hostile employee, Keisha, even shoved me and yanked on my purse. Security, witnessing this disgusting display, did nothing to stop her harassment, instead forcing us to leave despite our complete innocence. The situation became a nightmare. Even as Keisha jumped over security and assaulted one of my friends, security only restrained us! We pleaded with them, utterly bewildered, but they continued to escort us out. The manager we finally spoke to outside admitted this Keisha is a known problem, with a history of assaulting patrons and causing similar scenes. Its outrageous that such a dangerous individual is allowed to work there, and that security would be complicit in her disgusting behaviour.

The salmon did not disappoint, not only was the presentation amazing but it taste soooo good. service was fast and friendly. I love that they have several gluten free and vegan options. not to mention the decor is so cute, I will definitely be coming back.

JTM has top notch vibes! Great food, drinks and music. I go every Wednesday for wings that Im completely convinced are best in the city by a long shot, the wings are never frozen never breaded (the best way) and GF! Super friendly and professional servers that make you feel welcome. I bring new faces with me every week because everyone has to try these wings and they leaving saying the same thing....those were the best wings Ive had in while and its nothing short of the truth. Side note go on Wednesdays its all you can eat wings for $20 with a purchase of a cocktail you wont be disappointed EVER!

I ordered the mango salad along with fries hoping for a nice hearty salad. The salad alone was $18 so I was expecting it to be a proper meal but it was pretty much 5 pieces of mangos along with some fluffed up greens layed out on a large plate to look bigger than it was and no filling base. A mango salad is supposed to be predominantly mangos and if not it should at least have some kind of filling base. After eating the salad and fries I was still very hungry. I wouldnt recommend this place.

My friends and I booked for a birthday party, we arrived 7:30 pm, ordered the drinks and got them at 9:15 pm, nearly 2 hour wait for the drinks alone !!!! Poor service !!!!

We had an amazing time at JTM! The fold was incredible, the service was quick and super friendly and Jen, our server was knowledgable and helpful with her recommendations. My partner absolutely loves chicken wings, so we came for the unlimited wings on Wednesday and he was really impressed. Not greasy, cooked well and all 3 flavours he tried were delicious. I had a mocktail mojito and it was delicious - even without the rum the ingredients were fresh and well balanced. Tito was working behind the bar and also came to check on us a few times and really made us feel welcome and valued. He checked in on us and how we were enjoying our meals and experience and was just really lovely and kind overall. We will absolutely be back and would recommend them to anyone for a lovely date night, a fun night with friends or pretty much anything else.

This is now one of my new favourite places in Ottawa. The food is absolutely incredible. So flavourful and great vegetarian options. I recommend the mushroom taco and jerk mushroom cheese dip. They also have great mocktail options. Service was also very personable and attentive. Vegetarian options: Really great vegetarian options. The jerk mushroom cheese dip is delicious and the mushroom taco tasted like steak but not in the weird manufactured plant-based meat way. I also hear the mushroom burger is very good.

One of the best beyond burgers I ve have in Ottawa

Big place, if you like your wings go on Wednesday but unfortunately the service was bad.....

Certainly one of the worst restaurants in the region. The service was extremely long and it was small portions. The price of the glasses was exorbitant. The server made mistakes several times. And the worst part of all this? When we arrived to pay, we noticed that the server added a 20% tip to our bills without notifying us. Avoid at all costs!

I asked them to turn down the music because the speaker quality is horrible. This was during dinner time and it was not possible for us to have a proper conversation without yelling. Their response was to turn the volume up even louder. To management, whoever was the DJ on Jan 27, 2024, you should address this. We would have stayed longer and ordered more item, but it was enough to drive us away.

The DJ skillfully curated a lively mix of Latino beats, which had the entire crowd, including us, dancing the night away. The energy in the room was infectious, and we found ourselves swept up in the joyous atmosphere. Throughout the evening, our bottle girl provided impeccable service, ensuring our glasses were never empty and attending to our every need with grace and efficiency. Her attentiveness added an extra layer of luxury to our experience, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the celebration. Great food, the lighting, and the atmosphere was amazing. Waited a little too long for the food, but I did not hold it against the team as it was a busy Valentines night. Would recommend going here a day before or after a holiday to avoid the crowd and get your delicious food quicker. I would recommend they keep extra food in stock for special occasions as they were out of quite a few options last night. Overall, I highly recommend the place.

Food was great. Lots of variety and whoever was on the grill crushed the burger, ribs, and steak. Highly recommend. The atmosphere was solid. Very well done. Service was dreadful. Barley around, 30 min for a tea, and when she did bring it no milk or sugar? Our server sat at the bar on her phone and paid no attention to us....and we were the only table. The only reason we tipped was because we know some of it goes to the back of the house staff.

We organized an event at the restaurant and it was perfect. One of the managers welcomed us warmly and was very involved in helping us organize everything. My margarita was good. The steak mac and cheese was decent. The plantains were good, they add honey or some kind of glaze to them which was interesting. The server was very nice but slow despite the restaurant being pretty empty. Lots of waiting and sitting around while staff wasn t super busy. There were also messy things like a Christmas tree box with things in it in plain sight for guests. Food items didn t all come out at the same. So half your meal would show up and several minutes the other half. We had to ask for things more than once which was annoying. We also didn t receive itemized receipts which was off putting. You have no idea what you ve been billed for. If they improve their customer service (e.g. come by and ask how the food is a few minutes after dropping it off, remembering orders) and pay attention to small touches (e.g. not leaving mess out) J TM has the potential to be really great.

OMG, where to start this is simply the place to be in Ottawa. Amazing location, beautiful venue, loved the decor and the flower wall, the staff was super friendly and helpful, playlist and atmosphere were perfect. Everything they recommended us we picked and we were more than happy with, ( wine , wings , steak and shrimps and crème brûle) everything was perfect. We are staying another night in Ottawa and I think we ll go again for the wings. My compliments to the chef/owner

The food was phenomenal, had the dip with the Naan bread to start. The bread was fresh and warm, it was delicious, I could taste notes of sourness and spice in the dip and it paired well with the softness of the bread. The burger had a very solid texture with a very pure beef taste, overall prepared very well. I have been to many restaurants around the world and Im thoroughly impressed. Our server seemed experienced and was very gracious in serving our table of 12. I had a delightful experience at this restaurant and I will recommend it to all of my friends and family. This restaurant will leave a legacy that many of the restaurants could dream of leaving. Giving their customers a life changing experience. I will be returning to this restaurant as soon as I come across a situation where I need to impress. Thank you for the amazing service, I will be dreaming of those flavors I savored so thoroughly tonight.

One of my favourite places in the city. High end resto bar by day and nightclub by night. Be sure to try the Jerk Dip and the Blackened Chicken it might change your life. If you ve had that already, try the Shrimp Linguini. Don t forget to check out the wines they know what they re doing. The house red alone is a great choice. 5 stars hands down.

My experience at JTM was , I contacted the owner to book a table a little last minute and he was really flexible, fast and efficient and understanding. The atmosphere was calm, warm and cozy. Very exquisite food. My guests loved their dishes. Music-wise, I would have liked more of the 20 s style of this century :) apart from that. Everything was perfect. Wheelchair accessibility: I didnt see an elevator probably not suitable for disabled people.

They hands down have the best mushroom burger Ive ever tried! Needs mods to be vegan (no mayo, no cheese). The side salad was very fresh. And the cauliflower wings were the crispiest Ive ever had! The server was so good, she was slammed but came to us often and made sure we were good. Place slowly turns into a dance club on the weekends. DJ was smoking hot! Love love loved my night.

Hands down the best food we ve had in a while. We had our friends birthday dinner here and the food and atmosphere was . Service was excellent also, Frank was awesome and went above and beyond. We will definitely be going back! If you haven t been yet, it s a must. Cost we found reasonable for the quality. The Blackened Salmon was exceptional, and the music Dietary restrictions: I m Celiac and often it find it hard to have options when going out to restaurants, at J TM there were MANY options and clearly Labeled. Very much appreciated.

My boyfriend and I stopped in to check out the restaurant while waiting for our reservation at another restaurant, so we grabbed a couple of drinks and some sweet potatoes fries. The fries were very good, and the drinks were good too. But when we asked for our bill our waitress very quickly cleared our table without asking if we were done, we were distracted looking outside and we didnt notice, and before we could say anything she had poured out my boyfriends drink which was more then half full still. We were a little shocked, paid and left to make our reservation. This left a bit of a sour taste in our mouths as the cocktails are rather pricey to just be poured out.

Celebrated my bday at JTM last month , I m still in awe of how their team teamed up with my girls to throw me the party of my dreams I am forever grateful !!!! From giving us the space to create the vibe we wanted and catering to all of my needs!!! Big S/O to all of them for treating all of my guest like family but treating me like a superstar!!!!!!!! Highly recommend for dinner and after party!!!!!

My review will be only a bar service and drink. We came here for a quick drink. We got seated at the bar because we only wanted to get a drink. I can say that the bartender and the hostess were both very nice. We both got an expresso martini and it was really good, it had this cinnamon flavor to it This place was pretty full, loved that they had a open kitchen. Would definitely come back here to try the food and more drinks

Amazing place, the team is great friendly and efficient. When it comes to the food not many places in downtown Ottawa offer this level of variety while making it accessible. A great place to take out a new date and if you stay long enough the upstairs turns into a party 2 for 1.

This is crazy we waited an hour for the food. The rice was good. Dont know if its cause of our expectation but on a scale of 1 to 10 we would give a 6.5. meanwhile the serve was really nice Parking: Its a real headache to find parking. Yall know downtown

Amazing food and great atmosphere. Got the Salmon and rice, cooked perfectly! Frank is extremely friendly and made sure I had everything I needed. Will be back for sure.

Cosmo was too sweet. Espresso martini was good. Kale salad was great, there was a good ratio of kale to other ingredients. However this is just another one of those places in the market that charge like they re downtown Montreal or Toronto. Too expensive for what it is.

Food was very well prepered and flavorful (tempura & chicken sandwich). Their fries are exceptional although as a side it was lacking quantity. If the side of fries was larger, this would be my go to place for a drink and a snack. I have to admit, I left a bit hungry but I have a healthy appetite. Food quality is high. Dietary restrictions: They have a dedicated fryer, great offerings for those with Gluten Allergies.

Amazing food! From the cocktails to the appetizers and mains, everything is phenomenal. I ve been here a few times now and every time I love it. One of my favourite restaurants in Ottawa!

The food is amazing!! The steak Mac&Cheese has a hold on me! The food is rich in flavour, portions are great as well! The cocktails are just as great, not water down, mixed just right and they have a great variety so there s something for everyone. The atmosphere, is great wether you want to lounge with friends, host a birthday diner or enjoy the ottawa night life, J TM offers all the above and more. The staff is friendly, patient with large parties and will accommodate your needs! Definitely a Go-to for my group of friends!

The food was salty AF , we had to ask our waitress for the same things twice. She had our orders wrong. We waited 20 minutes to get the bills, she never came to see us after we got the boxes to go. We had to go get our bills ourselves. We could see her chilling at the while we were waiting.

celebrated my birthday at this venue and, regrettably, left behind a highly significant gift on one of their tables. I contacted them the following day, and their team assured me they had located it. Anticipating a smooth resolution, I returned the following week since they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. However, upon my arrival, the staff seemed unaware of the situation and claimed to have no knowledge of the item. I was met with minimal assistance from one of the employees. It is surprising that the management didnt secure the found item more diligently. While I acknowledge that it may not be entirely their responsibility, it was disappointing that the venue, after confirming the items discovery, didnt take better care of it and required me to make the drive for no reason.I hope management sees this so they are more careful about people s items they claim they find.

10/10 would recommend. The food is made with care and is super delicious. The manager was the one who served us and he was truly amazing. Provided great services to everyone and asked us if we needed something and if everything was good, and of course was super fun and made the ambience 100% better :) Amazing experience and will definitely be coming back again!!!!

Needed to make a last minute reservation for 17 people on Sunday evening, JTM not only accommodated us but they provided excellent service. For many of my guests it was their first time there and they all said that the food was phenomenal and they will definitely return. They have a variety of delicious food options, which always makes it tough to decide what to get. I would recommend the Steak Mac & Cheese, Steak Poutine, Perri Perri Ribs which are my personal favourites. Honestly a 10 out of 5 stars from me!!

mediocre would be generous....group of 8 seated in non-descript, cold room brutal.. The service was excellent, attentive and pleasant, Cocktails well mixed, beer cold. As for the food....If that was the only thing being rated in this review it would be 1 star. Blackened fish in particular was reminiscent of frozen filet quality, I could go on... weve experienced many superior options in the vicinity.

Bartender working the night of DEC 3rd overcharged for shots then had an attitude and acted up about me confronting him about it. Keep an eye on your staff they re overcharging your patrons and pocketing the difference

Lovely restaurant and bar,

Recently hosted an event for a large federal network here in celebration of the holidays and I keep hearing from our members just how much they enjoyed getting together and for some, discovering J TM resto bar for the first time. The vibes, music, food and décor were excellent! I also want to give a huge shout out and thanks to our server Laura and the bartender who was on shift that night. They did a great job and were very patient with our group. I say thank you also to Jennifer and the rest of the management team for helping me put on a great event!

I have a great experience anytime I have been here.
