I love pizza. Ive walked by this place many times and finally decided to stop in and give it a try. The pizza was a pineapple thin crust with a large edge. The outer crust is one of my favourite parts of a pizza, and this was excellent. If youre in the market and hungry for pizza, give them a try.

Called to place a pick up order and ordered a chicken caesar sandwich, an item available on their online takeout menu. When I arrived, they had made a caesar salad with chicken and the person working said they didn t make chicken caesar sandwiches. I found this annoying because: they clearly have all ingredients for the sandwich, it cost $26 instead of $15, and they didn t give me a fork to eat a salad. Anyway, they should probably take the chicken caesar sandwich off the online menu.

Im surprised to see the restaurant has such a high rating. The pizza is good, but is quite expensive ($8 per slice) and doesnt bring anything special to the table. Some of the pizzas have their own flair (honey on the crust) but it mostly tasted like any of the other pizzas Ive eaten in my life.

the food is great, the service is awesome, but the management has it set up in such a way that there is clearly no communication between front of house and back of house. id be happy to talk with a manager/owner about it tbh to help you sort things out! good food and good workers though

Hands down the best pizza in Ottawa I ve had so far. Since moving to the area from Toronto a few years ago I ve been slowly trying all the best pizza places in Ottawa.. this one takes the #1 spot for me and edges out Pizza Nerds and Heartbreakers.

I did not like the pizza . It looks yummy but the taste was weired neither my boys liked it. I did like the fried calamari plate. It was fresh cooked and taste good. The have halal option but I didn t try it. Food : 1/5

The servers are very polite and friendly. Pizzas are made with crispy crust, savoury meat, flavoured sauce, cheese and fresh vegetables. Their wings are also a good choice of snacks. It s a relaxing place to hangout with friends or family.

They somewhat recently changed their menu and removed some options (RIP breakfast pizza, youll never be forgotten), but the quality of the food is still great and there is enough variety for any pizza lover to find something they like. One of the only pizza places where I prefer to dine in.

My coworker and I wentby after a tough week of work and was really happy to end the week here. My pizza was really good. Packed with flavour you cannot get from Metros. We were tremendously happy we chose here and will be lots more. Our server was exceptional. Lkl Z, you made my happy list! Parking: By laws are strict so pay for your parking. Its sad people have to pay so much for social these days by parking fee, food prices with tipping in there too. Budget well folks. In a perfect world, I d say parking should have been free (I dont drive). Kid-friendliness: This environment is also suited for family and kids in my opinion.

First of all the food there is so good, they made Italy come to Canada. And the service there is also great, they are fast, they always smile, they very lovable. Everybody should try it, and I recommend to get the eggparm sandwich. Vegetarian options: If you are a vegetarian, Lil Zs Pizza can make the best vegetarian pizza you will ever taste.

4 stars for the food, decent cocktails, had the Mojito and the Margazita. 1 star missing for the service from your waitress. First off, my husband and I came in at 4pm this past Saturday. There was one other group on an otherwise empty patio. The sign says let inside know that youre here, it does not say wait to be seated. So I sat down. My husband went in, came back then went in to the washroom. Your waitress came out to the patio, and before greeting or saying hi, said youre supposed to come in and let us know, i said my husband did go in, and I dont know what happened. She was snarky and annoyed, said well the kitchen didnt tell us and they shouldnt do that. So I said again, OK I dont know? In my head - Like should we leave? You literally have 3 customers. I dont appreciate being made to feel unwelcome right off the bat. If that is your policy, perhaps have your sign say let us know youre here before you sit? I decided not to address the initial attitude, Id been wanting to try Lil Zs and could ignore that, huge pet peeve though... She brought out the food, didnt come back, I wanted a beverage so I waved down someone else after my husband offered to go in to ask. We were basically done, asked her for a takeout box, she asked if she can cash us out so she can go restock. Maybe management isnt hiring enough staff between lunch and dinner so your wait staff arent attentive and impatient with customers. Her attitude was probably due to that, but thats not my problem, snarky is very unappetizing. Someone appearing to be the owner was around, I complimented him on the food but didnt mention our waitress. They dont seem to be responsive to reviews here, so here you are

Probably the best pizza Ive ever had in years. The chef is from Naples, and boy does he know how to make a mean one. Do ask them for their recommendations!

Ordered takeout and had 1 slice and literally threw it out. Maybe 15 very small pepperoni and barely anything else on a it. The slice was a little better than cafeteria and it ruined my appetite. The pictures online seemed to be a lot better than they are.

Lil Zs pizza is the closest to authentic NYC pizza in Ottawa. They use real pepperoni (you can tell by the cupping). Great service, $7 happy hour pints of their in house Pilsner. The patio lets you people watch in the market. Great experience.

Ive now visited Lil Zs three times in two visits to Ottawa and have not been disappointed any of the times. The pizza here is amazing. The crust is soft and chewy. The pizza is full of flavour. There are enough toppings to choose from to make most people happy, and the pizza sauce tastes amazing. My kids love the pizza as much as I do and they really enjoyed the Chicken Alla Vodka pizza. We normally do a create your own and get pepperoni, mushroom and bacon and when we do we never regret it either. Id give this higher than 5 stars if I could, and would recommend anyone who loves pizza and is in Ottawa to visit it at least once.

I will never get in, waitresses are so rude and with their way of talking, they are kicking people out of the place, no customer service at all. Left without ordering after waiting 10 min.

Cant comment on the food or atmosphere. The waitresses were super rude. I dont usually complain but they were disrespectful. I understand it was Canada day and a busy day, but it is no excuse to talk this way to customers.

My boyfriend and I decided to try something new for date night. What a mistake that was. We ordered 3 different items to share. Meat lovers pizza, spicy garlic wings and chicken parm. To start off, nothing was hot, it was luke warm at best. The pizza was decent but they ran out of pepperoni! What kind of pizza place runs out of pepperoni? The wings tasted like dirty soap water, that left a nasty after taste even after chewing gum. The chicken parm was only chicken and bread (no pasta), and there was so much sauce that it was spilling over the plate. The service wasnt great either. The restaurant was almost empty, yet we only got one refill, and no one even asked how our meal was at the end. Severely over priced!! Needless to say, this restaurant has been checked off our list and we will never go back.

Pizza is really good service, not so much I have stopped in here numerous times for a slice and I ve either waited 10 mins or have had my order given to someone else and had to wait for another one to be warmed up.

I am still upset that because I ordered a slice instead of a whole pizza, I had to sit in a counter in front of empty pizza boxes. I would have paid a good tip; I just wanted to eat at one of the tables on the patio. I thought it was mean to divide customers this way. Besides, the cheese pizza tasted like cardboard. I will never go back. Dont waste your time there.

My brother and I dropped in for lunch today and were BLOWN AWAY by how great the pizza was! BY FAR the best pizza in Ottawa!! We even goofed the order and accidentally ordered a meat pizza and they were totally chill and swapped it for a veggie one at no charge. Thanks so much Lil Z

Older white male owner was smoking in front of the entrance to the restaurant while the retractable door was open allowing smoke to waft into the restaurant. Food is overpriced and average.

If it could had been possible , I would have given a half star rating , cuz pizza here is disgusting. Starting from the presentation to the taste it s just awful. It s just toppings thrown over a pizza base devoid of any taste at all. Drinks serve taste as cough syrups. Though the server discounted us , but it was not worth paying 30 $ each for me and my friend. Just wasted money, not recommended at all !

Hosted an event here this week and can t recommend it enough! Pizza was great and price very reasonable. Lindzy was excellent in helping me plan my group event and work out the logistics. The Lil Z pizza was my favourite but we tried a variety and they were all excellent! Vegetarian options: Multiple vegetarian pizzas available including cheese, ByWard market garden, and the Lil Z.

I am obsessed with this place! The pizza, the wings, the dessert- amazing. The halal pepperoni is my favourite topping for sure. I love the atmosphere as well, I have literally never had a bad experience here. Shout out to Evelyn, she was the best!

I Uber the pizza, and it s the Worst pizza, the dough is a a kinda bread style, it taste like metal. The pineapple we re awful (It would be the reason why you hate pineapple on pizza) .

Got the hot fire pizza with high expectations, left supremely disappointed, The pizza had 0 form and was the floppiest mess of toppings I have ever had... The dough just doesnt hold its form. After spending an afternoon at the Canadian Museum of History, it was necessary to refuel. Whats better than a good slice of pizza? We came across Lil Zs Pizza. A very nice brand. The dough is very good, the quality of the products could be better. But its very correct! I recommend stopping by for a little hunger...or to celebrate your 3rd birthday! My friend and I went for lunch! We saw a sign for $6 slices, but ended up going to dine in. We got a large four-cheese pizza, dont-stop-pop, 2 creamy garlic dips, and a slice of cheesecake. We honestly didnt know the style of pizza that they had (we didnt google), so it was all unexpected! We liked the pizza. However, I think the four-cheese makes for a very oily pizza, as ours had liquid dripping from the pizza onto the pan. We didnt know their style of pizza was thin-crust, but nonetheless it was still really good. The dip was creamy and delicious too! The cheesecake was TO DIE FOR. I absolutely recommend it. $12 a slice, but so so worth. Noor was our server, she was so sweet and constantly checked up on us! A delightful experience in a quiet, clean, and comfortable restaurant.

Incredibly delicious pizza!!!! We went for a slice each, and ended up getting another round of slices! I have no idea what blend of cheese they use on the Cheese slices, but its to die for!! So deeply flavourful with the perfect level of saltiness and cheese pull! The sauce must be made in house because it tastes refreshingly fresh, like its an old family recipe from someones nonna! And the crust is absolutely perfect, like bakery bread! I highly recommend getting the Garlic Parm dip and the King Eddy dip! So...with pizza this perfect, why dont they get a 5-star rating? I arrived 5 minutes before they opened and was happy to see people inside. The lights were on, and the door was unlocked. I stood inside for 5 minutes and no one even acknowledged me. Finally I asked someone when slices would be ready and they told me it would be 5 minutes. 5 minutes later, I went in and there were slices, but again, I was ignored. I even saw another customer who was standing there finally walk out. A guy at the bar said, Hard to get slices around here. I was finally served, and Im happy I stayed. The service sucks, but the pizza doesnt. Its worth the terrible service! :)

Pretty criminal that they charged our group ~$50 for a large pizza and it comes out looking like this. The cheese was cold, clumped together, and falling off from the dough - worst pizza Ive ever seen, wouldnt even call it pizza We threw it out, and went to Dominos

The crust! The best thing on these pizzas the Lil Z hot honey everything bagel crust and the Hot Fire hot honey sesame crust paired with their garlic sauce was just sooo good!! Nothing beats it! The third pizza we had was the All Day Breakfast and we also had their Mozzarella sticks - these weren t our favourite. The service was quick and friendly :)

This place was all around great!

This pizza is amazing. Ive had it multiple times and every time the quality is high. The toppings are on top, the sauce is Italian, the crust has that wonderful chew (not just doughy bread), the use of cornmeal to slide the pizzas in and out of the oven just adds a great texture and is extremely reminiscent of Windsor style pizza. You must eat here if youre a fan of truly excellent pizza. *Note this is thankfully about as far from Ottawa style pizza as youre going to get, so be forewarned if that is your kind of pizza. Ive done both Dine In and Take Out, both were equally delish!

Best pizza!!!

Wanted to try out this pizza spot. Our server Johnny was excellent with his service. Id recommend going out on a Monday if you prefer a laid back environment. Had the Sens game and NFL game on. I cant wait to see how this establishment is in the summer as they have garage doors for an open concept too.

Hands down the best pizza in Ottawa and up there with the best I have ever had. From the great sour dough bread to the top quality ingredients (on par with Farm Boy) you will not be disappointed. Lil Zs I salute you!

Can t speak to their pizza as we didn t eat; but super friendly staff. It was freezing outside and they let us in to stay warm and helped us order an Uber when we were having issues. Would definitely be back to eat just for the great customer service!

We got the pepperoni and the lil z. The crust was good and so was the sauce. We didn t love the toppings though. While they use that delicious little pepperoni, it was just extremely salty. The lil z was interesting but I wouldn t get it again. Too much ricotta maybe. It s definitely the best crust in the market, and we may try it again. But I disagree with the reviews that it s best in Ottawa.

A good pizza option if youre around the area. The hot fire pizza had a nice kick to it. The dough was thin but held everything together. I really enjoyed the sesame crust. We also ordered the lil cheese sticks and a garlic cream sauce to dip our slices in which were just okay in my books. The one thing that really threw me off was their (tap) water they served. Real funky taste. We ordered beers shortly after our first few sips. Service was okay, casual and a little slow but theyre nice.

I will rate it with five stars because the service is impeccable; they do their best to take good care of you. The food was good (it is a little short of excellent). The place has a good atmosphere. I felt the prices were high for the type of place, but it is worth visiting the place.

My favourite pizza in the city. I ve tried a bunch of their pizzas and other dishes and they ve all been excellent. You can t go wrong with anything you choose, but I highly recommend getting your pizza finished with a hot honey and everything bagel crust. It s a game changer. The friendly service and efficiency is also worth noting. I ve been about a dozen times for pick up and my pizza is always ready on time and service is seamless. The price is reasonable considering the quality of the pizza.

Not worth it. Chicken parmigiana without any pasta. Or anything else. Just the chicken and a couple of pieces of bread. Also, four cheese pizza, with no tomato sauce . Oily cheese only.

My first real good pizza since I m living in Ottawa. I ordered the pineapple pizza. The tomato sauce was excellent, really. The dough was perfect, not the thicker one you can find everywhere. My wife has ordered the vegetables pizza. Really really good, vegetables were tasty, well cooked. For the dessert I took the tiramisu, homemade. Woow delicious, not too sweet, not too heavy, the mascarpone base was just super. In short, the place to go if you want a pizza. Icing on the cake, the service was irréprochable. The waiter Amine was really kind and cool.

We dined in for a late lunch on May 22nd. We saw people taking out pizza from this place and it was rated pretty high on Google, so we decided to try it out. Firstly, we were a bit taken aback by the pricing since the menu pictures which were uploaded were cheaper than the current prices. It was already pricy, but since it was highly rated, we decided to try it out anyway. We ordered the cheesy garlic bread and the hot fire pizza. Being vegetarians, we requested the spicy soppressata be replaced by veggie alternatives on 2 halves of the pizza. Since the meat topping being replaced, its the same quantity as what would have been put on the pizza anyways, and in general meat toppings are expected to be more expensive than the veggie alternatives, so we didnt expect to be charged for it (and neither were we told that we would be). The garlic bread had a thick slab of cheese topped with seasoning and was warm at best with the cheese was already kind of hard and not stringy. The bread did not taste fresh, had no crunch on the outside and felt sunk on the inside, the cheese was excessive, and there was no garlic flavour either. Pricing this at $14 did not feel justified. The hot fire pizza was a bit better. The cheese was still pretty excessive, but the honey glazed sesame crust was enjoyable as it provided a flavour contrast to the rest of the pizza which was supposed to be hot. The nasty part of our experience was during and after our payment. We were charged $4 (2 per topping) for REPLACING the meat toppings for the whole pizza with 2 veggie toppings on each half. From labour point of view, its the same effort to spread toppings. From materials point of view, we opted out of 1 (meat for the whole pizza) and opted in to 1 (2 veggie for 2 halves). We were shocked that we were actually being charged (without warning) for being vegetarians. Fine, it was what it was and I didnt feel like it was worth ruining our day. The bill was already $46 (which itself is high) and honestly didnt feel like tipping, but I tipped to round it off to $50. While I paid the bill, my wife had gone to wash her hands. While I waited right in front for my wife to come back, I witness the person who served me point to our table, shake his head several times, and tell another person that we tipped so less. The other person also loudly commented Thats so less! so I can see and hear. I understand from their perspective that they dont know about our dissatisfaction in the meal and the pricing (we didnt want to ruin their day), but it is UNACCEPTABLE and RUDE to make us feel bad with such passive aggressive behaviour. To the gentleman who served us: if you felt bad about the tip, why didnt you come talk to us privately? Why did you have to embarrass us with your visible head shakes and audible complaints to your fellow co-worker? If you wanted to share your dissatisfaction, why didnt you at least wait till we were gone? There are several reasons why people might not tip or tip less (they dont believe in the tipping culture, they already exceeded their budget, they didnt like the food, they didnt like the service, etc.). It is not your place to publicize your judgement when you dont know these things, especially when you dont put the effort into finding out why things happened the way it did. Rest assured, it was an appalling experience which scarred us and we will not be revisiting or recommending anyone to dine here.

Overall the place was cool and staff were friendly. I expected more from the food. Pizzas taste was good but they were too thin and overcooked. Since the price is a little high, it s better for your reputation to increase the amount of ingredients.

This place, an unassuming pizza joint in Byward on a random summer Monday evening, ended up being a treasure. I ordered a crazy interesting pizza and a glass (or two) of wine. Evelyn took great care of me, and even paid special attention to me as a solo diner who was approached by a flamboyant and interesting local resident. The pizza was delish, but way too much for me. Who has ever heard of lemon zest and everything bagel pizza? A great place to try!!! Be aware, adventures may find you here.

Last night I went in and got a great experience! Food, service and atmosphere was really really great! I had a great moment and got served by Amin, he provided me great advice when I didn t knew what to take and drink for my night. The staff where all enthusiastic even if it was busy but 10/10 overall and I hope Amin to have Amin as my server probably made a friend at that place aswell will comeback with friends for sure!

This amazing pizza place is located end of the main market area. Very casual diner kind of vibe with very friendly staff. We ordered a large Margherita pizza which looks massive but super light and easily could finish. They have many kinds of pizza you can choose from and everything looks so creative and tasty. Apparently they just opened less than a year ago, but I bet theyll be very well-known popular pizza spot in the near future! Highly recommend!

I genuinely love this place and have been several times. The pizzas are excellent! Im giving it 4 stars because of the appetizers. The cheesy bread was super greasy and had too much cheese. The Mozzarella sticks were hard. Calamari were average. That being said, they have the best chicken wings Ive ever had. So yeah, I love this place but not every dish is a home run.

I started the night by ordering dominos. They messed up every aspect of my order so I decided to start the night over and try little Zs instead. It was amaaaaaazing. Probably the best pizza I ve had in Ottawa? Will be ordering again asap! Even with ordering on Uber eats, the pizza arrived hot and fresh!

Wow. Delicious pizza, caring service and overall a great vibe. Absolutely loved the hot fire pizza and the mushroom pizza. I really love the honey sesame crust, it s very unique. Also, just get the Caesar salad 5o start, you won t be disappointed. Huge slices of bacon, fresh parm and a fantastic dressing.

Stumbled upon this place after a night out while visiting Ottawa and wound up ending our night here almost every night of our stay. We even stopped by for takeout and got 2 pizzas for our 7 hour drive home, and we made everyone try it. Even after a long drive, they loved it too. Service was amazing every experience we had and we really felt so taken care of plus were still dreaming about the food and talk about it all the time. Safe to say another trip to Ottawa is in the books everything about this spot is just on point

The dough is so good! The Lil Z is worth tasting, the combination of flavors was original and super balanced.

Below average pizza in the Ottawa byword market area. The pizza had too much cheese for my preference and the tomato sauce did not deliver in taste. I would compare this to an elevated version of a dominos/Pizza Hut slice of pizza. However, the inside of the restaurant is cute and they have a lot of seating. The service was average and isn t anything to rave about. The price of my cheese slice and a water came out to about $9 CAD which is too much for subpar pizza in my opinion. I would not come back here for pizza.

We had a craving for pizza while in Ottawa on a family road trip and came across Lil Zs while walking around Byward Market. Looked it up and saw that it had a great rating so we checked it out and were happy to learn that the rating was very well deserved! We arrived just after the lunch crowd had passed through and the atmosphere was perfect for our large family including a toddler. Our server Patrick was so friendly and helpful with the menu - as there were so many options that looked good to us, we wanted to try so many of them! Before the food even came, our crew was already mentioning that Patrick was so nice that Lil Zs deserved many stars. Patrick provide us with dips, including a very spicy chilli oil which proved to be more than one of us could handle (despite their bravado) and Patrick quickly brought them a glass of milk. The food was very delicious, and unique with signature pizzas that I dont think well ever find anywhere else and also wouldnt have thought of on our own. The Neapolitan thin crust style is perfect, and their caesar salad is legit -- with real strips of bacon as well as plenty of shaved parmesan and tasty homemade croutons. Well be back for sure the next time were in Ottawa!

Great place for a family outing. It was not busy (Expected for a Tuesday evening), but the service was friendly, prompt and personal (the manager also made an appearance and she was also very nice). While waiting, we saw a lot of takeout orders going out the door which indicates well liked food. Toppings for both the pizza and the sandwiches are thoughtfully prepared (E.G. mushrooms are sauteed properly before being added) and are of good quality. Would definitely recommend and wish we had this place close to home!

Best Pepperoni Pizza ever. If you love pepperoni, youll love this place. They do it right. The pepperoni are cooked hot until they are like little bowls, each cupping a mouth watering bit of spicey oil and with their edges crispy like bacon. The crust is authentic hand-shaped, chewy, crispy and savory.

Always pick up their mushroom pizza - it is exceptional! They use fresh mushrooms that are delicious! My only issue is that depending on the chef, the mushrooms can be concentrated just in the middle of a 16 pizza, which... is no bueno. But Ive asked for wvenly distributed mushrooms every time I order and the problem is rectified!! Very delicious crust and great sauce to crust ratio. 10/10 mouthfeel! (Iykyk)

Good pizza, but terrible service by this one young man on Thursday night. Asked for a refill glass of water, and he answered me in a rude way Give me a few minutes OK! Waited over 5 mins and never got a refill. (Restaurant was empty). Poor people skills. Water jugs were only at an arms reach away from him. Please learn some people skills if youre going to be working FOH.

Did not disappoint! The pizza was phenomenal. The salads were delicious. Excellent. We loved it so much we ate there two days in a row.

Spontaneously wanted pizza with two friends. Fantastic deal getting your own freshly fired. As you can see, they are generous with toppings. It had a medium flop to the slice. We were wiping oil just a little bit - but to be honest a little grease is probably for the best when leaving a libation filled night in the Market. Service was decent but that was maybe our own fault arriving 45 mins before close.

Super delicious, hot and fresh, what more could you want! The $8 combo with a slice, dip, and pop is a steal. I could barely finish my slice! The crust is perfection, the cheese pulls when you take a bite, and it s just overall super satisfying.

Located at the heart of ByWard market, easy to access. Lizzie, the server referred her favorite pizza as a must try and I liked it as the crust was unique; it was sweet sesame crust with pepperoni topping. Sorry don t recall the name but it was one of their signature pizza. If you like something spicy I do not recommend it. This one stood out just bcoz of its honey crust base.

AMAZING !! I live all the way in the west end of Ottawa and I make the trip to lil Z s every time I m craving pizza!! iv brought multiple friends to have them experience the amazing pizza that I have nicknamed Ninja Turtle pizza it s exactly what I would expect a REAL New York style pizza to look and taste like! I m obsessed with there vegetarian pizza I love that it s not just regular topping like green peppers, mushrooms & They have eggplant, yellow & green zucchini and then they add extra flakes of thick parmigiana cheese. Sooo good ! Before I keep going and going I ll also mention that they have really really good dipping sauces my favourites are they garlic parmigiana & spicy oil!!! If your in the downtown area or like me that will drive for good quality and also AMAZING staff super friendly atmosphere definitely go try Lil Zs !!!

I am going to share an unforgettable taste of the Hot fire pizza I had at Lil zi. The slice you take starts with a spicy flavor and ends up sweet! The cheese and ingredient are amazing. I already miss it. Was the Ottawa s top ten pizza you should try!

Best pizza! The Lilz is my fav. Toppings on top of cheese so the pepperoni is nice and crunchy. Love the hot honey. Just go ahead and buy the large pizza so you have lunch for the next day.

The BEST pizza in the city! Homemade, full of flavour, full of chucks of grilled eggplant, peppers and REAL flakes of parmesean,in addition to the wonderful, stringy mozzeralla!! And, ypu can get it by the slice! Service is fast and friendly, top. Share the news!!

Excellent chicken wings and pizza

We had no idea this place was here, and Im super excited that we found it! This is going to be our go-to pizza place in the market. The wings were excellent and the pizza was also wonderful. LOVED the honey-everything bagel seasoning crust on the white pizza we had!

Great pizza, great beer and an even better staff! Will be back 100%.
