Only reason Im rating 2 is because we had a nice server, otherwise, just warm fries and a burger no better then Wendys, I expected much more like it was years ago..very disappointed.

Exactly what you expect from a Lone Star - good atmosphere, great staff and service, and fantastic food. Parking: Limited paid street parking in the area. Also limited paid parking garage nearby.

I went to this restaurant today, but the restaurant staff was very rude and disrespectful.

To begin with the main door to the restaurant was broken to the point were two man had to get it open sat on the patio and the table and chairs full of dirt and dust the food was so bad that we all had diariah in mater of hours.

I have never been served at that Lone Star. Therefore I don t know how the service or food is. I have been there twice though. Both times, I was sat and given menu s. The problem was not one server came over to my table. After 15 minutes me and my companions just left. Waiters walked by our table, but they did not smile they did not serve us. I am not sure what is wrong with that Lone Star but is like they just could not be bothered to serve people. It s like they are trying to go out iof business LOL will never go back and neither will anyone I know. The place is a running joke

got their buy 1 get 1 for free ribs on Ubereats. I prefer honey garlic flavor than bold bbq. i also love the smashed potato even its a little bit over salty

Used to love this place, I ordered takeout margaritas from here a lot. However more recently every time I go when the website says my order is ready, I have to wait 30+ minutes, which is ridiculous cause all I ever order is coleslaw and a marg . The hostesses are also always incredibly rude. The only good hostess was Sydney and I don t think she works there anymore.

As much as I enjoyed my time and food, I ordered over 6 margaritas per person to try the fancy different flavours plus 2 shots of whiskey in total I didn t even have the slightest buzz, disappointing because I was clearly shorted of alcohol in this already pricy town. They have smiles so large it s hard to see past it but I spent well over $200 that night for just juice *not the stores fault but a man was sleeping directly outside the doors when I tried to leave that night. Directly around the corner of this restaurant is a pack of homeless people aswell

Ordered steak which turned out to be tough and flavorless. Other orders were ok.free chips and salsa was good. Sat on the patio and got accosted by the homeless asking if they could have my food as the security guard stood by. After telling the guy I wasnt giving him my food he kept asking and staring. Another patron gave him some money finally and he left. To be fair that whole area of Ottawa is full of homeless defacating and urinating wherever they want.

Worst Texas Roadhouse experience I have ever had. Front of house was total disarray and lacking any professionalism. One person sat us, different person took our order and third person served us. Then we never saw anyone the rest of the meal. When I had to head to bar to ask to pay bill, I was told I don t know what to say, I m serving 13 tables . Spend your money elsewhere

It comes with free chips and salsa dip appetizer, Wednesday chicken wing special is okay, the Nashville mild flavour comes with plain wings on a bed of flavourless orange oil and tiny bit spicy sauce on the side, the unbreaded wings tastes great. The breaded ones are no good, bourbon bbq and texas grill bbq flavour are all too sour.

The food is alright, your average food from a restaurant chain. We had a bbq burger, and a fajita bowl. Unfortunately the service was horrible. This restaurant is run by a bunch of 20 yrs old kids with no training and definitely no manager around. We never had refills, and we didn t get all our food. There are better places to eat Parking: Plenty free parking

the restaurant was so dirty, its disrespectful to charge customers a price like that with the appearance of this restaurant. the toilets were dirty, the floor was slippery with grease....honestly some renovations wouldnt hurt to improve the quality of the experience. the food was good, but the beef in my fajitas was stiff...there is room for improvement.

Went there with a friend, the server messed both our orders. The meat wasnt what youd expect from a 50$ plate. Poor taste, and my friend got a sirloin instead of rib meat. Brocolis were just half cooked with spices thrown on them. They got the fried onion ring right though... The ambiance is okish at best. We got a 20% discount but were never coming back thats for sure.

Terrible service asked for a regular Caesar got charged for a spicy Caesar wasn t able to drink it but still wanted me to pay for it. Restaurant is dirty. Bathrooms are in the basement and they smell like urine definitely needs an update!

8:17pm sat night July 6th the girl at front/hostess made it clear we would not be sat & fed soon (no worries for us) but dont need to be so rude. It was honestly not full, allot of room inside and on patio. her welcoming words, in her words: just to let you know, everyone in here is waiting for food. yes.... this is a restaurant.

It s been a few years since I ve been here. No more complimentary chips and salsa. Our meal portions were small for their prices (especially the Ribs). Very strange lady who sat us isn t much for manners. We don t need to come back here. Montana s is now comparable to this place. And likely better value for the $$.

I went here with my family and friends looking for a place to just eat and cool down. The atmosphere itself was just alright, and the service was pretty good. One of my friends had ordered the shrimp tacos, and I ordered the birrea tacos. I wasn t expecting the food to be out of this world, but what I got was barely edible. Though I didn t expect it to be authentic, it was genuinely almost gross. The broth for the tacos was very salty, and almost resembled soy sauce. The shrimp tacos (according to my friend), were flavourless and ruined her appetite. Lastly, someone in my family had ordered the kids fajita s. All the portions were good, except for the fact she had received 3 extremely tiny pieces of chicken. To make two fajitas, which is ridiculous. And to add salt to injury, the chicken was almost, stale? To be fair, my other family and friends had gotten chicken dishes and didn t have much of a problem. But if you re going to serve other dishes, make sure to make them at least a 5/10. I m really not sure why this was as bad as it was, but I hope that there can be improvements made. I wanted to give this place a fair chance, for it being our first time visiting but I don t think we ll be back.

We were group of 9 and reached the restaurant at 10:40 PM on Wednesday just20 minutes before closing but they have accommodated us and served awesome food.

The staff is friendly, I didnt like the food very much, it lacked more flavor and color. The drinks were very good. The area has many beggars, if you sit outside in the patio you will see many beggars passing by, it is better to sit inside if you have children. The concept is a Texas food restaurant, they do not sell anything that is Canadian cultural, they do not sell poutine.

Was there July 20th noon for lunch my servers name was Beans . Everything was great . I gave cash for my lunch and gave a tip and the server knew I gave 20 dollars too much as I advised how much I gave 140 trying to give 20 percent or more .... I do that worrying I might count wrong worrying more about not giving enough . She counted it at her counter and noticed I gave too much and was very alert and honest letting me know before leaving . I commend the server Beans for a great experience at the Texas grill George St Ottawa as she created a 5 star experience . .

Ordered through Uber eats and the restaurant forgot about my order for almost 2 hours. I physically called the restaurant to inquire that all my items were arriving and when some of them arrived they were incorrect and some were missing. I will never go to this restaurant again.

The food is just ok. But i really like their frozen margaritas. The dill pickle or jalapeños margaritas are my favorite the guacamole was also good.

Me and my friends came by last night for wings. Our waiter was nice and our experience was in no way indicative of them. The first thing that was frustrating is that we waited over an hour for our food. Moreover, two of my friends waited even longer to get all their food. The second thing was that they messed up 2/4 orders. They gave breaded to my friend who didn t order breaded and they gave the wrong portion and flavours to my other friend. Additionally, the kitchen put almost all the sauces on the side instead of on the wings. They also accidentally gave us an extra order of fries, this was not intentional. Lastly, out of nowhere the area we were in became really cold and it seemed the AC was turned on. What was surprising was that the restaurant didn t even try to make things right by accommodating or making up for the poor experience. Instead of taking back the wings to mix them with the sauce they decided to just give it to us, and instead of giving my two friends a refund or a partial refund for giving them the wrong food they did nothing. The food was also bad. Tasted very forgetful. Very negative experience and will not be going back. Appreciate of some of the staff who tried to make up for the poor experience.

Great place especially when spring is blooming. First outside patio in 2024 & many more to come Kids friendly staffs and service was extremely good. They have good options on drinks. Kids menu was worth every penny. My little one loved it. Will definitely visit again Kid-friendliness: Enough space for little one to roam around the chairs. It s extremely difficult to hold toddler in one place for long time. Staffs were friendly & consider-ant. Patio makes it entertaining for them to look at the crowd walking by & other kids in strollers

It s a great place to eat! I ate there when I last visited ottawa! Great service and Great food. Tried their veggie fajita it was delicious. Only disappointment was I really wanted to try their pickle drink without alcohol but they said they already have it premixed with alcohol! Ended up ordering another nonalcoholic drink!

I cant believe this, Ive never walked out of a restaurant. Lets just say there, was no customer service what so ever. I was there over, a half hour I never got my food. I got nachos and,salsa the salsa was so watery. I asked someone if, five dollars would cover my coke. She said it should, I am not impressed with this location. Save your money go, across the street to Dunns. Oh yeah they did, not care I walked out. And the Reginal, was actually in the resteraunt never ever again. Parking: A mess.

Our familys first visit to Lone Star Texas Grill will, unfortunately, be our last. Upon arrival, the host was reluctant to seat us at a table that suited us, citing an unwillingness to open another section of the restaurant. Although we eventually found a table, the overall experience did not improve. The food lacked flavor, and the small spoonful of salad provided was not fresh. Additionally, we found the pricing to be high for the small portion sizes served. Moreover, the restaurants appearance was disappointing it was dirty and seemingly in dire need of an immediate renovation. In summary, I cannot recommend Lone Star Texas Grill due to the unsatisfactory service and poor value. The dining experience simply does not justify the cost.

Its been many years since we were at the Lone Star. We went for lunch the other day and its was excellent. We both had the Chimichangas and they were huge and tasty. I could only eat about half of mine - my husband did manage to eat all of his. The waiter had told us they were large. I found the filling to be really tasty and the chicken was tender. I would definitely order it again. My only negative comment is about the chips and salsa that they serve for free. The tiny dish with the salsa is very awkward to use and the salsa could use a little more cilantro and spice for my taste. The server was friendly and pleasant and we had good service. We will be back .

Out of Coolers and whiskey; great place if you like stale draught beer; not having stock means they are going broke by losing customers - lots of other great places right next door :)

Went there for a birthday dinner on Saturday, we had reservations for 8 PM and it literally took them 45 minutes before asking us what we would like to drink, by the time they took our food order it was about 9:30 PM. My friends wings were burnt and after trying to send them back to the kitchen the server brought the same ones back out and said the cook promised that they are not burnt however they obviously were. We will be going to other locations in the future.

Big shoutout to this Lone Star!! I often go there before events in downtown Ottawa and its such a great spot! The staff has always been very friendly and accommodating with me and my friends! My food and drinks have always been delicious and fresh! Do think about getting a reservation if you plan on going for dinner time on weekends as this is a busy spot! Vegetarian options: The bean and corn quesadillas are amazing!

The fried pickles were soaked with oil. A bite into them caused a spurt of oil.... First time in a long time I was so utterly disappointed by the food. On the upside the margaritas were great. After this post went up, I received a call from the restaurant manager who apologized and gave us a small gift certificate so we could come back to give the restaurant a second chance. Appreciate the follow-up.

Although I did not personally attend I can say they went above and beyond to help me make my daughter s bday extra special away from home. We are truly grateful for the amazing staff

Very expensive, and portions much smaller than I remember from a few years back. Service were pleasant, but clearly stressed from the restaurant being too short staffed. Food was okay, but overall, Lone Star is far removed from what it used to be.

Only one bar tender serving whole section, not experience one. Food not tasty 2 adults and 3 kids for 160 plus tax and tip 200. Not recommend.

I understand the concept of reservations but if you don t also prioritize walk-ins then just say you don t accept walk-in s. Waited 40 minutes (and counting) for a table I was told would be 10 minutes. Meanwhile you ve had empty tables that are reserved . We have two young kids, would have been in and out by the time anyone was seated at those tables

$85 for two of us! Each of us had one drink (around $14/per person), and we split some nachos (around $28), and we ended up paying almost $85 (including tip). For just two drinks and a plate of nachos. Wish Id looked at the cheque more closely, because there must be some extra surcharges on there! The drinks were delicious and the nachos were fine, but those are insane prices for not a very fancy place? Honestly, the whole experience was just fine, the prices just do not match the value at all. Bummer :(

Ok folks, lone star used to be fantastic but things have changed! My chicken breast was raw! The steak was burnt on the outside & raw on the inside! And the flour tortillas were alot smaller than usual. The waiter was nice enough & we got 25 % off. But gee whiz lone star cant u get the attention to detail right? Especially considering the high cost lately

Service was excellent. Food was not. Wilted salad with rotting cucumber and stale tortilla strips. The steak was supposed to be medium rare but was overcooked. Overall a very disappointing experience. Certainly not what I expected from a Lone Star. This experience will make me reluctant to dine in another Lone Star. I wish I had waited for the Keg to open.

Despite having a reservation, and arriving on time to a semi busy restaurant with many open tables - it was well over 5 mins before we were greeted. Despite only having one other person placing a takeout order in front of us and 2 people behind the host desk. We finally get to our table, my husband, my mother and my sister to celebrate an early birthday dinner for my sister. We all had a different dish and one beverage. Our server Tennessee was kind, and attentive to my gluten sensitivity. Unfortunately before even arriving home my husband was feeling nauseous and is now violently ill after trying the bbq brisket tacos. I immediately called the manager on duty to advise him about this and to review at the kitchen. The manager Hurricane initially responded with the standard line of we are fully inspected and management is heavily involved in ensuring a high quality product . Not at all sensitive to the fact that one beer and 3 tacos should not have this violent effect on any human! I certainly expected more after spending $200 on a meal - perhaps even a sincere acknowledgement and apology. I will not be dining at the Byward Market location ever again.

There seems to be some issue with Lone Star lately and making the fajita shells. They are too small and mote taco like in size that fajita. The tastenis not the same as they are not light and fluffy but small, thick and chewy. Very disappointed to order take out and be stuf with those horrible shells. Do better!

Our waitress kept forgetting things we asked her to do. They had lots of out of stock items on their menus. The food side quality price does not ps you the amount of the bill.

Ordered for takeout/delivery. My husband got a steak quesadilla and for $30 it came with almost not steak. One piece literally had no steak and the others maybe had two pieces at the most. Tried to call the restaurant to explain but they said there was nothing they could do since it was through Uber Eats.

I see other comments from two months ago stating the same thing so it seems to be a recurring thing.. they didn t make us pay for the food only drinks. Not sure well be willing to go back to this location.. or lonestar altogether

Great location right in Byward Market. The patio is large and partially covered. It can however get cool at night once the sun sets below the buildings. Our waiter was super fun although he seemed really busy we didn t see him often but that was ok as we were not in a hurry. This patio can be quite loud as it sits very close to a very busy intersection in the Market. Our food was good, we tried the Deep Fried Pickles, the Steak and the Chicken Tacos. I also tried the Margarita sampler which is a great way to try three flavours at once! Highly recommend reserving as it can get really busy!

Look at this sad 35$ steak fajitas. Last time going there. Got a nice meal for my wife that just gave birth and this is what I find when I get home. You should be ashamed to serve that.

Came to lonestar at approximately 1630. I was served by the lovely Tennessee. Her customer service was second to none. She expressed her love for some of the discontinued margarita flavours, and really made me reflect on my past self and realize that I should love myself as much as she loved and adored those past flavours. Tennessee, you are the only ten I see. Prayers and admiration.

I had the worst experience of my life and I have dined out ALOT. This was the most pathetic and disappointing experience of my life. I had ordered nachos and fish tacos and unfortunately both were inedible. The nachos were ordered for take out and when I saw them they were burnt. Not only that they were extremely soggy with a weird tasting queso sauce following which I got food poisoning. On top of this the tacos were extremely bland with little to no sauce and the other toppings were missing. I want to escalate my feedback to upper management and want a refund because the food was insanely expensive on top of me getting sick due to it. PLEASE TAKE ACTION PROMPTLY. Edit I did follow up with them and sent an email to their marketing team but there was unfortunately NO RESPONSE from them.. so disappointed.

Disappointing! We went to the Lone Star near St Laurent shopping center when we first got to Ottawa and LOVED the fajitas. We thought wed enjoy a nice steak before we left. Unfortunately, the service was so incredibly slow, we just paid for our drinks and left. I have no idea what the staff was doing at 3:30 on a Wednesday afternoon but it certainly wasnt serving the three occupied tables.

24-hour getaway to Ottawa for 4 adults. Great service great food Squid cooked to perfection, not rubbery Special sauce but a change The fajitas were good good amount of meat however could have had a little more sour cream Salsa. The raised sides were appreciated and the churros for dessert Great atmosphere and our server too.

If you dont eat meat, it will he hard to get a proper meal (with a protein).

Order fajitas for 2. When we decided that the order wouldnt be enough to serve myself, let alone 2 people, we tried to take the order back. We were told we would be contacted for a refund. Still never got contacted back for the refund for the $75 meal.

We ordered tacos for 2 and the food wasnt even fresh, the steak had no taste at all. For 50$ you get more tortillas then meat. Its rip off never again.

Lone star s quality is just not what it was a few years ago. The food portions are much smaller now and the prices have gone up. The worst part was the service, i totally understand that the servers tried their best but its evident they were understaffed and overworked. I think there is room for improvement . However i overall do recommend for fajitas and drinks

Horrible service!!!!!!!!! Stirling (Manager) is very rude and racist. We had a horrible experience omg dont know where to start. From the 1st we entered i said table for six inside he said oh no dont have a table FOR 6 inside Put us outside and it was raining. From this point we waited for ever for service and everything was wrong. I went to complain Stirling didnt care that we were uncomfortable. He basically told us to leave and ask if we ate any of his food. To end this I paid for our drinks and apps. He was a heartless, and very, racist. Food taste is great but with 69 CAD after tax I except to have more meat. It looks fancy but actually only has five pieces steak stripes, five pieces chicken breast sripes and two bone with some meat on it. Services are nice but extremely slow. There are not much people but I wait very long to order and even to get the bill.

They could do better on the babys palm size toppings for fajitas. And extra doesnt mean another 1/2 size of the first. Most people will pay to at least enjoy the food theyre already being overcharged for. And DONT put chips and salsa on the table and walk away... let people know theyll be paying for that, too! Food is not the best for the price.

Weve been coming to this location for 15 years and more. We have been eating at Ottawa Lonestar locations for over 25 years. We will never be returning to this location. Steak fajitas are purely fat. Drinks are only half full. We have seen the quality go down a lot over the years. Waitress and management argues with customers. August long weekend and the Byward market is full but no waiting to get into Lonestar, when has that ever happened? Clearly a lot of people agree that this place is absolute garbage now. Good riddance!

Ordered Texas sized fajitas and it is a small little portion similar to the fajitas for 2. I guess they also no longer serve salsa and chips. Honestly so disappointed the fajitas weren t even enough for 3 people.

Hubby and I had a blast today with family and friends celebrating a friend s birthday. The food was very tasty. Everyone ordered different things on the menu. I saw burgers, tacos, fajitas and more. No complaints and the plates were all cleaned. Hubby and I had the fajita dinner for two featuring chicken steak and shrimp the fajitas and two pieces of ribs. There were all the fixings plus we ordered guacamole on the side. We enjoyed it and left nothing behind. My sister was very disappointed about that as she was eying our dinner with thoughts of augmenting her tasty burger combo. Service was excellent and timely. They willingly served up the cake we provided and gave us a giant stetson to pass around after the birthday girl had her fill. I do want to add a warning about the stairs to the washroom. Those stairs are treacherous . After negotiating them with my bad knee I asked the staff what accommodations they provide for the handicapped and they pointed to the handy handicapped washroom. Do not hesitate to use it if you are in the least bit worried about the stairs. Stay safe. Wheelchair accessibility: There is a handicapped washroom on the main level.

The service was alright but the food. That was something... the burger I ordered had so little taste to it due to a lack of seasoning that the singular tomato slice in it was the highlight of it. And the fries which were served with it meanwhile had so much salt on them that I had a hard time not coughing.

Food and service were excellent. I have been to different Lone Star restaurants and the food is always good. But the service here was exceptional. Our server was Ameretto. He made sure everything came out fresh. A man greeted us at the door and I am sure he was the owner. Very friendly and professional. I would eat here again.

This was the downtown location. My least favourite. It didnt feel like a Lonestar, and service was really slow considering the place was quiet. Servers were polite, two things we originally ordered we couldnt get because they were out of the main ingredient. We also didnt get the chips and salsa like other locations. I dont know if I would go back. The food we did get was decent, but there are other locations in the city that are better. Maybe it was an off day.

Food excellent. Service excellent. Low star is because the manager was yelling and screaming at employees and that was done in dinning room and not a closed office. Not professional at all. If I was the owner, this manager would have been fired on the spot. I have zero tolerance when it comes yelling and screaming at someone for no good reason at all. Shame on you manager. Not going back there again.

Table across us was never cleaned for over 50mins we stayed there (placed order and ate - yet they didn t clean the table across us). Not that they didn t have enough staff, yet once we were seated almost after 10mins a server came to greet us and provided us menu. They did not even refill the sauce on our table. Food was not good. Service was alright but I would never dine in here again. Kid-friendliness: They have kids menu and activity book for kids.

My fiance and I were very hungry and came to Lonestar for some big portions. We ordered the steak and chicken fajitas for two and were very disappointed with the portion sizes. It would have been a good amount for 1 person, but not two. For almost $70 we got less than half of a chicken breast and a even less steak.

Was there today with my partner. When we got there the hostess let us know that there was only two severs and that service was slow - the place wasn t packed. We were seated after 2 minutes of waiting at the front. The hostess brought us waters and salsa with chips until our server was available to take our order. We sat there 20 minutes and watched as other customers came in, and got seated right away. Other patrons were given their drink orders and we finally got fed up of waiting. Awful service, will not be returning to this location.

Four of us ate dinner last night but only two of us were happy with our meals. I cant say enough good things about their Fajitas but do not order their Fish Tacos, they are loaded with cole slaw and the fish pieces are so small and thin. The two people who ordered these didnt finish their plates. Odd that the waiter didnt even ask why, that should have been a standard question.

Its not a good place, at least not when we were there. Service was very slow and did not fulfill our expectations. They not even started with the chips and salsa like any other Lone star. But this is my personal experience. You may check other options in the area before landing here.

Our waitress for sure, for sure was basically absent, while we had to flag others to get basic service. Food was good.

The food tasted awesome and the service was pretty good! The pricing isn t too bad and definitely would go again.

Sad to where some places are at....increased prices with decreased portions...while quality is good (not exceptional for Mexican food), they reduce portion size on the inexpensive items, such as rice. My order came with a very small portion of rice and even smaller portion of beans. Too bad.

$100 just for 2 meals and an appetizer. They used to give you free nachos and stopped doing that. Used to be so much cheaper and better quality at one time.

Food was okay, the waitress was friendly and helpful. I found a live roach walking on the side wall against the table while having my dinner. I then advised the waitress, and she took that roach away with napkin immediately. However, no one apologized or explained for this till I leaved, not even saying a word. It seems that they were used to this situation and took it for granted.

We were immediately told that they had big groups that reserved tables/booths. They asked us if we wanted a table/booth, but if we did it may be a bit of a wait. We opted to sit at the bar. The bartender did not stop, she didnt have any time for her customers at the bar. She didnt ask us if we needed anything after the initial round of drinks, we had to ask for everything after this. The guacamole last night was rancid. The service was poor because one bartender was doing the brunt of the work.

The worst, I dont recommend it, dont go. Terrible service, disgusting food. Little responsible waiters. Its a theft.

Cockroaches alive on the table Small portion of steak not edible, never goes back to eat it!!

Cockroach present on the scene in broad daylight next to my partners elbow directly on the table... traumatized for life! She ran between our plates in the middle of the table to jump down and was under the next table between the legs of the gang who were celebrating a birthday we left and to pay the $96 bill after eating fajitas with the beef full of nerves inside which remains firmly stuck between the teeth even your nails cannot get it out of your house... I would have preferred a toothpick than a cockroach

Dirty place to eat at overall walls, booths, washrooms and what looked like a bug (roach) crawling on a booth noticed it just before leaving the establishment. Food was terrible 90$ for two people waited at least 15 to 20 min for the food when it came it was cold the beans were dry and hard like not cooked and when asked to replace them they just added more sauce but was still cold, fatty ribs not saucy or hot and slaw that seemed tasteless and old the Caesar salad was gross tasting the mashed potatoes were nothing to write home about either first and last time for sure!!!

Bbq pork rib is excellent. Chicken strip is the best in Canada. You can taste the freshness of the chicken . The servers are nice and friendly, we like this place

One of the worst experience I ever had at a restaurant! The food was absolutely digusting! My girlfriend had a ceasar salad, she didnt like the dressing and the chicken, so we told the server and she started complaining that there was nothing wrong with the salad... the manager came and said the same thing... everything was cold! The portions are straight ridiculous, I had a side of onion rings and they only put 2... And to top it off we had to ask for ustensils.

We were a very big group last night. Our waitresses Cassidy and Tennese provided excellent service by taking care of all our drinks and orders!

This was a very bad experience. The tables were sticky as was the floor, the food was not appetizing and smelled really off. Then to the basement washroom which appeared ok at first until I washed my hands. I turned to grab paper and as I pulled on the dispenser cockroaches came out from behind the wall mounted unit. Discussed I climbed the stairs looking down, on edge on not feeling well only to see dead roaches in the corder of the steps. Never again.

It s been over 10 years since I last been to a Lone Stars. And I have to say their fajitas never disappoint. On a Saturday night we have had some trouble finding a table at any decent restaurant downtown Ottawa. Everything was full by 6:30pm. So we walked across the street from Byward market and came to Lone Stars which was around 70% full. We got a table right away and ordered nachos, ribs and fajitas. The atmosphere was great especially when they holla for birthdays Our little one enjoyed a lot. The apple pie dessert was great! The cheese for the nachos was a bit too salty for my taste and the baked beans that come with the ribs was quite hard to chew. The rest was all good! They have kids menu and a fun book they can color and do some games on paper. The waitress was friendly. By the time we left the place was all full! Kid-friendliness: Kid menu and activity book

Had the pulled pork sandwich which had a bitter saw dust taste and taco salad which was dripping with oil on the bottom. Took 2 bites from the salad and didnt finish it.

Service was quick and the server was absolutely fantastic. Food was exactly what I ordered and was delicious.

As someone living on the other side of the river, a 40-minute drive away, I have repeatedly faced issues with takeout from this location. My continued patronage is becoming increasingly questionable. On my most recent order, I chose: Festive Fajitas for 2 ($64.99) -Included Queso & Chips (8 oz), - Fajita Especial for 2, - Signature Flour Tortillas, --No Ribs - Sub extra Chicken, --and Hersheys Kisses. 6 Fresh Baked Tortillas ($4.99) Specifically requested Gluten Free Corn Tortillas due to dietary restrictions. Unfortunately, the order was far from what was expected. Not only did I receive ribs despite requesting a substitution, but the Queso & Chips, which I had paid for as part of the package, were missing. The 6 extra Gluten Free Tortillas, that I paid for, vital for my girlfriend who has IBS and cannot eat regular tortillas, were not included. This oversight is particularly frustrating given the significant effort and time invested in traveling 40 minutes for the pickup. Its disappointing when simple requests and dietary needs are disregarded, impacting both the enjoyment of the meal and posing potential health concerns. For those in search of reliable takeout options, Id recommend considering McDonalds in the Byward Market instead. It may not offer a gourmet experience, but it is fast, and the service has proven to be more dependable.
