It was good the first few bites and then felt very greasy the more you eat. The duck was quite fatty. I had better.
Good The squirrel fish was nice and crispy and the sweet and sour sauce was on point. OK Fried rice, and Peking duck were normal. But honestly was expecting more from the peking duck after being told authentic Peking duck is so different from the Hong Kong style duck I'm used to. I did not find any difference. Will not order again: Dumplings were nothing special, felt like I could get frozen dumplings at the same quality. The scallion pancake was really dry and hard. The duck bones were tasty but a real hassle to eat amongst polite company. Pretty much would need to get your hands dirty and dig in. Service Nothing to write home about. Was expecting them to change our plates once they started full from the duck bones but that never happened. They gave out the little green guava candies at the end with the bill which I found to cheapen the whole experience. I get the same candies at any pho or ayce restaurant.
What an incredible dining experience! While there's no special lunch course on weekends (only available on weekdays), it was absolutely worth every penny! Of course, we had to order the Peking duck—it was hands down the best I’ve ever had in Canada! Every dish we tried was bursting with authentic flavors, making it a true culinary delight. The service? Outstanding! Even after we paid, we lingered a while longer because the cozy atmosphere made it impossible to leave. To top it off, they kept refilling our teapot without hesitation, which added to the warm and welcoming vibe. This place is a gem, and I’ll definitely be back whenever the Peking duck craving hits. Highly, highly recommend!
The duck is crispy and tasty, but Canadian duck is overall too lean and dry which the resto cannot fix. Beside the duck, the other dishes I ordered is fine, but with this price, I would expect more. The service is okay, they are always around you, and very polite. The deco of the resto is very good too. It is clean and comfortable.
After visiting the nearby attractions we decided to come to Byward market once again and on the way to a chain of restaurants we noticed this place. Bearing in mind is so difficult to find Pecking duck in Canada (even Chinese people in supermarkets do not know here what this is, while in the UK you find it not only in restaurants but in chain of big supermarkets too) we decided to access this place, located on the second floor and have the duck: - very friendly servers from China with basic English yet way friendlier than many older Chinese servers I came across in other restaurants; they are a true credit to this place as they were paying attention to when we needed little things - this restaurant is more upmarket than the other places in Byward market and I am so sorry I messed up their white table cloth with the sauce - the duck was great but what a pity the pancakes were thicker than usual and also placed in folded squares which made it very difficult to unfold and even our server could not do it - the place was empty as we arrived but 2 more tables got later occupied and we liked this quiet ambiance as we were positioned near the fireplace and window noticing the Beaver's tail across the road for our dessert we love so much!!!
Really good Chinese food place! All of the dishes that I’ve ordered there have been delicious. My top 3 favourite dishes are their signature fish, crab roe tofu, and the Peking duck. The Peking duck was very comparable to the ones I had in Beijing. It’s worth getting the premium version because it tastes so much better than the regular one! I tried both and I can definitely say that the premium version is worth the extra 20$, it is much juicier and has a better texture. Definitely recommend this place for Chinese food.
That was not just any dinner. That was a DINING EXPERIENCE! Very authentic. This has to be one of the best if not Thee best duck I’ve ever tried. Food service was spot on and the menu is literally a book. Highly recommend! FYI- have to order that duck and make reservation in advance! Bravo!!
This is the best Peking duck I’ve ever had in my entire life! At first sight, the atmosphere was great, the seats were comfortable and the room was very tidy. We were warmly welcomed into the restaurant. The waitress was very helpful and the service the great. However, the best part of the experience remains the food. The duck skin literally melts in your mouth! Also, the Peking duck even comes with a soup and the duck’s head. Nothing is wasted. For a first time, we were truly impressed by the food, the service and the atmosphere.
Great experience and food at Peking Duck. Maybe I am not well versed enough but Ive found the duck juicy contrary to some reviews.
Good service, but I genuinely think the dish is normal: duck is lean, greasy; soup is bland not seasoned well, you can literally taste the tap water and heavy duck smells in it. And be prepared to CLARIFY yourself if you tip them less. It s the first time I ve ever encountered this bizarre situation. I tip as my will, no explanation needed.
We recently dined in the store and tasted the lobster special introduced by the waiter. The craftsmanship was very good. My typhoon shelter flavored lobster was salty and fragrant. The double lobster only cost 54 yuan, which was very affordable. The waiters were also very diligent in changing plates and the tea was always available. The environment was very good. I will come here to celebrate birthdays in the future.
When we were having a meal, some waiters interrupted our conversation repeatedly and showed no courtesy. Can you train the service staff and teach her basic courtesy? And the public spoon was thrown directly into the dish. At the end we were talking and they interrupted us and asked us to pay. First of all, we ate this meal for about an hour, and there were no customers waiting for a table. I don t know why this is the attitude. If you are really in a hurry to change the table, you can tell us the meal time in advance. Very bad. There was another girl who served me very well when I came to Guangdong before. Please learn more from her. I won t name who it is here (just describe the appearance a little, and you ll know). I know the service industry is not easy, and I hope it can improve in the future. Unpalatable food is a common problem in Chinese restaurants here, and you cant beat the chef because there are no top-notch ones. But there are comparisons among the service staff, not to mention the setting of tipping.
Great service and hospitality from the staff took the time to explain us the menu and food was the best we had ever. The place is clean and do beautiful if you are in Ottawa it s the place to go. Thank you all for and amazing experience we will come and see you soon
Delicious but quite pricey.
Some of dishes are too greasy and salty But if you like Canadian style Chinese food this restaurant are acceptable and good service.
Had the probably the most expensive dish : sea cucumber. It is far from the advertised. The sea cucumbers swam in soup , countable pieces. The Mei Cai Kou Rou is from frozen meat? Song shu yu is hard and dry. Everything was a disappointment. Didn t try duck though
Their specialty is duck ,also very traditional Chinese cuisine, great service and delicious food
We stumbled across this place as we were walking the Byward Market. Very upmarket place (so be prepared to pay accordingly). Excellent food and will definitely require a return visit next time I m Ottawa.
Delicious
Good service, good atmosphere, roast duck is also good
Good
That was expensive for no reason. Food is barely ok. To charge the price they do vs. the food serves not worth it by a long shot. The small noodle restaurant at the corner tastes way better, more food, wait less longer. I wont go there again.
Many aspects of this restaurant reminds me of real Chinese.
Nice but the duck that i order is hard to chew, mapo tofu is delicious, vegetables hard to chew also, noodles ordinary. Maybe the best is the pecking duck, will try next time Wheelchair accessibility: Theres is lift to access to the restaurant which is good
Overpriced and below average. We were a group of 13 and drove all the way from Montreal to try this renowned Peking Duck restaurant. We ordered over 15 dishes besides the duck, none of them were considered outstanding and most were below average. Not only we spent $700 for below average dishes, the dining time was limited to 1hr 45mins. Service was good though. Wouldn t recommend for Asian or those who have chance to visit Asian countries or Toronto/Vancouver from time to time.
I recently visited Quan Ju De in Ottawa, and it was an amazing experience! The food was absolutely delicious, especially the Peking Duck, which was cooked to perfection crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The service was outstanding; the staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. The ambiance was cozy and welcoming, making the entire dining experience even better. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic Chinese cuisine in Ottawa. Five stars all the way!
My first time been here and l will give the best opinion. The foods are nothing special and the duck tasted terrible!!! Ducks are too cold and too dry!!! Its like chewing on dogs bones! Worst than my grandmas cooking! This restaurant also hires some international students standing around doing nothing but talking! They pretenting to look busy and only like to serve whoever they like! The prices is way overcharging is like eating thin air when you ordered another couple items along on the sides. Very disappointed and would not recommend anyone this place if youre looking to eat peking duck!
The duck is really good, and the service is excellent! All the staff are very friendly. Food are in good quality!
The food was great, but we were rushed out after the waitresses claimed that we only have 2.5h of reservation time, which was extremely rude since I was not told this when I booked the table. Also one of the waitresses dropped a bunch of oily utensils and ruined my friend s outfit. The quality of the waiting staff was extremely poor and I was very disappointed by this experience.
There were a lot of people today but the dishes came out very quickly. I highly recommend the Prince Mushroom Pa Bean Miao! The mustard duck feet pack a punch and are delicious.
The dining experience is very good, the waitress is very patient and gentle, the environment is also very good, and the overall dining experience is also very good.
The best part is the air-con, and I mean this in the most polite way. 3rd time trying this place before writing a review, and it truly is underwhelming. The food is mediocre; Ive had better in China towns all over the world. Just because the menu is printed in a large leather bound book (with half of it mentioning sold out) does not mean you can charge exorbitant prices for below average food! Stop the scam. And no... your pecking duck is terrible.
Long waiting for the duck over 35 minutes, the servers didnt have knowledge about the foods.
Very satisfied, good foods and service, for people who are looking for a decent meal
Must try in Ottawa
The duck is delicious and the waitress is pretty and very good
After the new menu, the taste is even better, especially the Kung Pao shrimp balls and steamed blue grouper. They are so delicious.
Love it here. High quality and consistent food. Very attentive service. You get well taken care of here. You can t come and not have the duck - it s amazing.
The roast duck was good, but I had a stomachache after eating it. I guess it was because of the salted duck liver! I will not eat at this restaurant again. The basic food safety is questionable. I started to have stomachache again in the night. This is a restaurant that will be on my blacklist.
My husband and I are on a trip through Canada, and I happened to see that there is a Quan Ju De here. What a pleasant surprise! Ive been to QJD in Beijing a few times, and while this location doesnt quite measure up to the one over there, it is still quite good. Because there were only two of us, we just ordered the duck and didnt have a chance to try any of the other dishes. The food was very good and beautifully presented. The service was very good, too. Definitely worth a try if you havent had Peking duck before.
Location in Main Street, you have to come and go on elevator 1 level up. It s a beautiful white table clothes atmosphere. Better to book table advance as it s always full. Service is very good, polite and good came very fast. It s a real restaurant not like cafe or bistro. Good for special events or for nice dinner with friends
Food was good. Really liked the peking duck here. Seemed a bit pricey for the rest of the items. Presentation and taste was good though.
High-end chineze restaurant ! Parking: Walking distance to all options of parking. Space to safely let passengers out in front and the find parking! Food : 5/5 |
Super fresh and unique dim sum. Try the deep fried pork dumplings and the fried shrimp dumplings. Very attentive staff. Highly recommend!
Really delicious and excellent service
Fancy look, good service, but the food is a shame! Roast duck meat is dry and cold, must have been roasted a few days ago and waiting to be sold. Other food is awful too, the fried meat ball is rock hard, the tofu tasted like no seasoning or flavor at all. It costed almost 300 dollars, but got nothing satisfied, except the little duck snack which kids liked because of the cute look.
Its the BEST Chinese dining experience Ive had in Canada. The Peking duck is exquisite. The dining atmosphere is authentic. The service is great. Highly recommended if you are looking for the best (northern) Chinese cuisine.
Nice restaurant in Ottawa, very delicious food, popular destination for tourists. Great
This Peking duck restaurant is a branch of the famous one in Beijing. We had our lunch there and totally impressed by the quality of the cooking and service. The chef is from Beijing and the duck is as good as in Beijing. Original taste and favor. No hesitation to recommend to anyone who likes a great Chinese meal. Well done!
A great experience although we disliked the stairs to get to the restaurant. The quality of the lacquered duck is fantastic! The soups are great! Two people can eat without a problem and three The truth is that it was an experience in the center of Ottawa that we loved although I have to admit that it is very expensive for an oriental restaurant, no matter how elegant it may be
Eating roast duck in Canada is just okay.
good
Source and Onion are not enough
I chose Quanjude for my birthday today. The service was very good and the food was very delicious. I will come again next time.
The service was excellent
Absolutely loved this restaurant. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, and the staff are incredibly warm and attentive. Each dish was a delight, perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. The flavors are unique and memorable. Highly recommend for a lovely dining experience!
A perfect retirement lunch for two of my favourite people. Ambience is fantastic as you can see and the dish presentation is very appealing. A tad pricey but worth it for those special occasions. Convenient Byward market location. Friendly staff and felt pampered.
We were a party of 4 and we pre-ordered a duck. We also ordered a few items from the dim sum menu. The food was excellent. Some of the items on the dim sum menu were quite special, at least we havent seen those before. The duck was also excellent with crispy skin and flavorful meat. This restaurant was still in the soft opening phase, which means theyre still working things out. So far, it seems its gonna be good. The price was a little high, we spent about $200, so be aware of that.
Amazing staff and customer service and even better food. Overall an a terrific experience
great service and the food is amazing, would totally come back !!
We came to this restaurant last year, we came again this year, the duck is good ( if you have it once in a while), our family are 3 people, we have to order the whole duck which is a bit too much, there is much room to order other dishes, this is a minus for us, but we enjoyed the meal.
The Beijing duck is good and its the real Beijing flavour but other dishes are just normal. Its a good point that the chef dont change the flavour to western chinese style but we orderd four dishes, to be honest, they all overpriced as to their flavour. The service is good especially thoes young servers, they know what they are doing.
The roast duck served at a signature roast duck restaurant is at the level of a supermarket. It tastes much tastier than in China. It can t even compare to the 5-yuan roast duck rice served at the Toronto food court. The lowest option on the credit card machine is an 18% tip. Haha, whatever. The price of the meal is 200 knives with this tip, and it is now free for 10 knives. It can trick a thin-skinned person, right?
Our family went here for lunch on a Saturday. The whole experience was very disappointing. First of all, we waited the Peking duck for over an hour. By the time we had the duck, we were already full. The duck was just okay. The meat was dry. The steamed fish we ordered was also overcooked. And it didn t taste very fresh. Also, almost all the waiters/waitresses seemed to be under training. They didn t really know what to do. We don t blame them. However, if you want to save money by hiring some young students, can you make sure there are qualified staff to teach them? Overall, this is not the quality we expected at .
Been several times: good food Last time: reservation made but 15 minutes late due to traffic jams The manager no more ducks available without a smile, without asking anything We didnt come specifically for the duck Well sorry, you have to be kinder
The lobby manager is a fool and suggested a different one.
Very good roast duck
Full marks for service
The best Chinese restaurant in Ottawa! A waiter named jelly is so handsome and there are so many beauties! And the girl with the flower in her hair is very beautiful and kind-hearted.
The service is very good, especially the waiters who are very good-looking and have good service. The best Chinese restaurant in Ottawa.
The young lady wearing the red flower is kind-hearted The waiter is very handsome
The best Chinese restaurant in Ottawa, especially the good-looking waiters. The most awesome Chinese food in Ottawa. People eat the best Chinese food. The best Chinese food in Ottawa.
The best Chinese restaurant in Ottawa, the waiters are very handsome, the lady wearing the red flower is very beautiful and the service is very good! ! ! The experience was great! !
Very good Chinese food, love comes from China nice Chinese restaurant, love from China
Very, very good, very good. It s very suitable to have dinner on my birthday. The waiter and the waiter are very beautiful, very handsome
Jelly ZZ is handsome and quick. Ms. Dong is also beautiful and provides good service.
Great food, some unorganized waiters and poor decor in the room we ate (random shaky table in the corner).
good.
Very good service and food
Amazing experience , thanks Amy!
The service, dining experience and overall quality was exceptional. The food came in quickly and it was delicious. I would definitely come back and the manager Amy was so nice.
Finally came to Quanjude I am very happy and the service attitude is also very good I will come again next time I come to Ottawa
The food is very delicious and the service is also very good
Peking duck is super delicious! The waiter service is super good! Very enthusiastic!
The food is delicious and authentic The service is also in place The speed of serving food is also ideal
I came here specially from Montreal to eat the roast duck, which is the most authentic in Eastern Canada. Good service and convenient parking.
The quality of duck meat is very good. Highly recommended.
Good
The duck skin of the Peking Duck is very crispy and melts in your mouth, the kids love it! The hongkong style lobster may not be a signature dish here, but its also well-made. The service is very good.
delicious food at good prices
Great food like I remember from beijing
The best perking ducks in town. Service excellent
Nice atmosphere when its not too crowded.
The environment of this restaurant is very good, elegant and luxurious, very clean and tidy. The food is not only beautiful in appearance, but more importantly, it tastes great, with good color and flavor.
Good environment very fancy food tastes amazing too
good
Perfect
The roast duck is delicious I highly recommend the Kung Pao Chicken! !
Restaurant charged 18% service fee automatically without notice
Mid, there are better peeking duck restaurants for cheaper. They just make it look fancy
A bit pricy but food is great.
It s a Chinese fine dining in town. Good quality food with excellent presentation for each dish. Well trained staffs and they explained well for each food items on the menu. Very clean and quiet environment for dinner. Washroom is clean. Price definitely is a bit higher than other Chinese restaurants. This restaurant is located in a busy street at the market area so it may not be easy to find a parking spot on the weekend.
Food is ok, but service is awful
Nice restaurant, good service, good foods.
Lovely Peking Duck experience here tonight. Its not the best weve had, but it was great for Ottawa standards. We were happy with the results.
Try the whole duck 10/10 highly recommend
Food is alright for the price, which is expensive. Atmosphere is good. Service is mid. So overall 3 stars.
Overall a good place. Unfortunately, the duck is only in one form and there is no option for milking one form of gosia
Food was really mediocre. There is nothing special about it.
It was nice experience, the interesting part was the chef placed food in front of you however the food wasn t that good. I still give 5* just wanna to support the business. *Note: in my opinion, should come in with a group of 4-5 or plus so you can order more dishes and share.
Best pecking duck in town, with other selection deserves 5 stars as well. Its so good it rivals Toronto selection, which is colossal. Theyre a branch of original location from China so its authentic. The flavor, however, can be too authentic for some. The seasoning is a lot more subtle and deeper than your regular BBQ duck or general Tao chicken thats adjusted to North American ultra-salty palate. Service is great but for the level of quality theyre aiming for definitely has room for improvement with the serving staff, almost like the floor team lead do all the heavy lifting surrounded by junior staff. Definitely coming back for special occasions. 2024 update: celebrated 2 CNY here, with both small and large parties, both left very satisfied. Tried the dim sum. Verdict: its an elevated dim sum, super good and well worth the price ($7-10) but the highlights must be the salted egg bun and pork-and-shrimp siomay. *Italian chef kiss gesture* Non dim sum must try: snow pea leaves stir fry with king oyster mushrooms. Vegetarian options: Very flexible and transparent on the ingredients, Im sure vegan clients have no problem here. Dietary restrictions: Staff were super careful with accommodating allergies and willing to substitute ingredients off their dishes - dont see that very often in Chinese food! Parking: Weekends you get free street parking but overall its hellish to find parking in Byward Market. Kid-friendliness: Got high chair and provided kids utensils for mine. Excellent!
Eat half a duck
Very bad experience! I ordered the duckling desert! But they didn t serve them and they even charge me. I tried to contact the store but they didn t reply me and even blacklist me! Very bad service experience!
By far one of the best Chinese restaurants on 3 continents. Vegetarian options: The aubergine dish is excellent among other options Food : 5/5 |
Excellent food. We had the set menu on Chinese New Year Eve - absolutely phenomenal food.
Mustard duck feet, okay Jellyfish, common The duck heart is burned by fire, the taste is wrong, fishy and cold, zero points Tofu soup, shrimps were not processed and the shrimp threads were not processed, zero points The hair and blood are strong, so salty Elbow, okay Duck, you can eat it Star powder is edible My throat hurts a little after eating
Had a wonderful time here , couldn t ask for more as well as impeccable service
The service is great! The dishes are beautifully presented Love the mustard duck feet very much! The taste is very good! The steamed fish is very fresh! The open-sided shrimp is also very delicious Recommend everyone to experience it ~
The service is attentive, the dishes are guaranteed, and the portions are so large that you can t finish them all. It s worth visiting again.
Nice atmosphere, but crazy prices and charged mandatory 18% tips for 2 people!
Really tasty food and the portions are generous. I ve had the roast duck and I ve also had the eggplant. Both were incredibly flavourful.
Pretty decent Peking Duck!
Recently this place have special lunch menu between Mon to Fri $118 for one combos. I took a call to book table onDec29, they told me during holiday until January 2024, the special menu is $148, I said it ok for this price. But when I arrived here on Dec29 , the waitress tells me they don t supply for this lunch special during the holiday. I tell them I have booked the lunch menu by phone and the price is 148. They still say that day the waitress didn t know it and gave me the wrong registration. I don t think I have the good experience for this explanation. Like the waitress they don t clearly for the rule for this deal. Never believe for the special menu.
VIP room minimum $500 + 20% service fee. Limited parking spot in front. You can bring your own drink with service charge of $20/bottle. Food in general is good, but a bit salty. Reservation is recommended. Table service is provided inside of VIP room. Overall good place to go for special celebration.
Good service and atmosphere but the taste of the food didn t justify the prices we paid. Our roast duck was gamey and had an offputting aftertaste. Same for the fish that we ordered. No proper duck dish should have this sort of flavour to it. I can t recommend this place especially given that we paid over $250 (group of 3) only to be left with a bad taste in our mouths.
1st time, and the Peking Duck was fabulous!
Worst experience ever. The duck is dry and not as good as the one we had at other places. The sauce has strange tastes. We served ourselves and got the dishes ourselves, yet we were still required to pay a 20% service fee. By the way, we were stuck in the elevator for 20 minutes. Don t come to this place. Believe me.
Overall the restaurant is very beautiful, it s a great place to try peking duck or for a fancy dinner. It is a higher class restaurant and their prices have gone up a bit for their lunch special. It s definitely a great place to check out and just have a good experience. But I would say that here they don t really cut the duck in front of you but the dish placement is beautiful. Also the soup that came with the meal was not the best, it was a duck soup, but it was just broth and two goji berries. The soup tasted like it was just pepper soup. We went for their 3 person lunch special with four people and it was filling! Their prices like mentioned above have gone up, for lunch it came up to around $175 before tip. It is a unique experience but not a place I d go back frequently. Parking wise too, there is not many spots available outside unless you park across the street and pay for parking.
An unforgettable experience! The food is delicious, the service impeccable and the place cozy and comfortable. What a pleasure to have this restaurant in town!
Finally a nice fine dining Chinese restaurant in Ottawa that serves proper Peking Duck. The restaurant is not particularly big so reservations are recommended. They have a couple of party rooms that are available with a service premium. I was happy to find that I could get service in fluent English, Cantonese and mandarin which was very useful for my group. The menu is large and expansive. The price tag is higher but in line with their tier of dining. Would go again for special occasions.
The authentic Chinese food was delicious and the waitress provided great service. We really enjoyed the duck. The people who are giving this restaurant 1 star is comparing the peking duck to the ones in Beijing. Of course its not going to be 100% the same. For peking duck and other authentic Chinese dishes, this is one of the better restaurants in Ottawa.
The environment is comfortable, service is good, but the signature Peking duck falls short; it has too much meat, and the skin lacks crispiness. On the contrary, appetizers and stir-fried dishes are excellent. Ill consider ordering only stir-fried dishes on my next visit.
If youre looking to book a table for more than 8 people be expected to pay a minimum of $1000 to reserve a spot, we wanted to celebrate a birthday there but werent intending in spending that amount for dinner, slightly disappointed that, that was our only option to reserve
I had another great dinner with family here tonight. We especially loved the eggplant dish & peking duck! This is the BEST chinese restaurant in Ottawa to go for a special occasion or to host guests visiting from out of town!
My wife and I had an amazing dinner tonight and we ate Peking Duck for the very first time. The skin was incredibly crispy and the meat was super juicy and rich. We had a great time and would definitely come here again! Thanks to all the great staff!
Very delicious and great service. The presentation is very particular, and there is a dedicated chef carving the duck on the side. It s my birthday today and I m giving you desserts, I m very happy. Will come again!
Clean restaurant with super delicious food, especially the Peking duck, very tasty. Highly recommended!!!
Tasty food, great service, lovely atmosphere, and they also have dim sum, highly recommended!
This is my second time to dine in here. The food is decent. I like the perking duck most. The service is excellent!
Really great food, service and high quality dishes
very nice
Great food, great service, Id definitely recommend checking it out.
excellent food and service
The duck meat is delicious and the duck soup is delicious. I will come here often next time
very delicious
The environment is very good, the food is delicious, and the service is very attentive. The roast duck is very good. I personally recommend the mustard duck feet. There is also morning tea for lunch. The duck soup is stewed at a good temperature. I will come here next time.
very good
The atmosphere is wonderful. Beautifully decorated and it feels amazing the minute you walk in. The people working there were extremely helpful and nice but the food... I would say it was overrated. I personally love peking duck and it was sort of flavorless here. We were charged extra for something that a waitress said would be free of charge.
Great service. Duck was ok but avoid the stir fried. Very dry. No vegetables. Have had much better at Yangtze. And I feel far too expensive for what we had.
So far, after eating Quanjude in Beijing, Vancouver, and Shanghai, I feel that this Quanjude in Ottawa is the best value for money, food, and service. Worth the drive from Montreal often to eat there
Went with a family of 4 - I apologize for calling the waitress a stranger when my mom was trying to have small talk
Our second time here and never disappointed! Have been thinking of the tofu in roe since last summer.
I was really speechless. Last week, I ordered two bowls of fried noodles and a duck paw. The fried noodles were made into two bowls of dandan noodles. Then the waitress insisted that what we ordered was dandan noodles. I said we were. When she came to eat fried noodles, she said we made a mistake. She kept saying it was our fault over and over again. The front desk also said it was Dandan noodles. Could you please help me order? Is it possible that you heard it wrong? Then he asked me to eat first (Isn t this just because I have to pay after I eat it? If I m not satisfied, I ll get another bowl. Paying for two bowls in the end has nothing to do with her. The customer is still an injustice.) In the end, we were speechless and ate. This attitude of not admitting our mistakes is really 6
Pineapple sweet and sour pork is delicious! The filling of shrimp dumplings is also very good! The duck rack must have salt and pepper! Eggplant paired with dried fruits will relieve the greasy feeling ~ Roast duck is good for overseas scenes
awesome
tasty
A bit disappointed by the Peking duck.
Taste is good, service is good, but expensive.
Absolutely amazing experience and even better food! The menu is unique, varied and shares the history of Peking Duck. You can come in to spend big on an exquisite meal or spend less and enjoy their take on the fantastic classic Chinese dishes. The choice is yours here! I am definitely coming back for the Peking Duck! Parking: Plenty of parking in the market. Kid-friendliness: This is a family restaurant and kids are accommodated. Wheelchair accessibility: There is an elevator that takes you from the lobby to the dining room.
Food is decent however everything is pretty pricey. Asking for $37.99/lb for live lobster is steep!
Excellent experience, very good Peking duck, jelly fish, mapa tofu, spicy fish!
The food is authentic Chinese flavor
The staff was very cordial and polite, making reasonable alterations to our order as necessary when we asked. Perhaps it was the evening I attended, but it was not crowded. While this could be attributed to the average dollar amount for an evening here, I quite enjoyed the intimate atmosphere with friends and appreciated the quiet and pleasant dining experience without worry of children screaming (though admittedly, there were children present, just really well behaved). Would definitely come back here for another special occasion! Vegetarian options: Although their namesake and menu revolve around duck, their consideration and quality of their vegetarian options is sizeable Dietary restrictions: They are very considerate of allegeries and other dietary needs, asking before and after ordering to be sure there are no misunderstandings Parking: Being in the downtown core (Byward Market area) it is not surprising that parking is limited, especially on weekends and holidays. But this is at no fault of the establishment and is well worth the trouble. My recommendation? Arrive downtoan early in the evening (3:30 or 4pm) Wheelchair accessibility: Although they are located at the top of a commercial building, they do have a convenient elevator for wheelchair accessibility
As a connoisseur of Peking Duck, this one was excellent. Very attentive staff, and one can see your duck being carved. Definitely recommended.
Good restaurant, just the duck taste is different than in china
It was a pleasant surprise. The decor and service was very good! The duck was delicious. The portions and prices are more than reasonable. Would definitely recommend it
One of the best oriental restaurant in town.
An amazing experience. The atmosphere is elegant, beautiful and clean. The food is delicious, especially the roast duck, it tastes great The staff in the restaurant were very nice and polite.
The food was delectable without being overly salty, the portions were generous, the service was attentive, and the interior was beautifully designed. It surpassed our expectations.
For 88$ the duck tastes nothing. Let me capitalize it : the duck tastes NOTHING. The skin is crispy, for sure, but the duck is flavorless, you taste the bitterness and acidity of the scallions and the sweetness of the sauce in the wrap but not a hint of the natural fatty aroma of the duck. If you want to have a fine dinner place, its the place to go
I am sad not knowing when I can visit Ottawa again to have the Sweet and sour pork best version of that dish ever!
The two of them ordered Set A for lunch (half roast duck slices with thin pancakes, husband and wife lung slices, lobster mapo tofu, fried seabass, garlic kale, and duck soup). The price is very cost-effective at 118 Canadian dollars before tax. The Peking duck is authentic and delicious. , the slicing is also professional, five stars! The amount of lobster tofu is huge, including a whole lobster cut into pieces. Unfortunately, the mapo tofu is a bit salty. The couples beef slices and kale are small in quantity but the taste is very good. The duck soup is a clear soup with two sweet wolfberries, which is rich in flavor. The fried sea bass is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside without feeling greasy. The set meal is written as suitable for 2 to 3 people, but it is actually for 3 to 4 people. The service is very professional, from setting the dishes to serving the dishes, changing the plates diligently, and the packaging boxes and bags are of good quality. Puer tea is very strong. The reason why I didnt give it 5 stars is because the restrooms in the store were all broken and unusable, and they didnt proactively inform customers, and they kept diligently adding tea. . . Also priced at 118 are packages B, C, and D. They all look pretty good and it s hard to choose.
I heard about this place for a long time and finally got a chance to try this restaurant. It is famous for peking duck, which we ordered one. The presentation is unquestionably good... taste is good too... very enjoyable! A eating place perfect for business lunch or dinner.
The duck liver is particularly delicious, and the squirrel mandarin fish is highly recommended.
