Got the peanut chicken and rice for lunch. The mushrooms I am pretty sure we're just canned mushrooms. The sauce was bland, it was very underseasoned and desperately needed some umami and salt which were lacking. The crispy spinach on top was covered in sugar and I'm not sure if that's intentional or if they accidentally put that instead of salt on it but I'm not super keen on sugary spinach. Overall pretty disappointing, won't be going back.
Good and flavorful Asian food is hard to come across in this town but Sen Kitchen definitely did not disappoint! Delicious with lots of flavor! I would highly recommend the Pad Thai!
I ordered the Peanut chicken with mushrooms and crispy spinach. I asked for rice noodles instead of rice. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. However the dish was disgusting. It was a greige color. The peanut sauce was gritty with no other flavour. And it was way too much sauce to chicken and mushrooms (barely any mushrooms). The chicken tasted and had the texture of boiled chicken. And the rice noodles were mushy. I had to add so much sriracha and hoisin and that made it barely edible. I threw most of it out, as I could not eat it. And I find the prices way too high for what you get. Won't be ordering from here again.
It was my first time eating here, so I ordered the shrimp pad Thai as a litmus test. The serving size is generous and the dish was very, very tasty. It was very filling.
Ordered a pad Thai for lunch at this place and it's yummy. Portion is very big. Overall I think it deserves a 4/5.
I love their peanut butter chicken dish. It comes with warm rice with a little caramelized spinach. You can get as many toppings as you want too. The team here are also warm, friendly, and very fast! Good place to have a workday lunch as there are many seats with big open windows and convenient bathrooms close by. Line isn’t too long as long as it’s not 12-1pm.
I have been here a few times for lunch and have always enjoyed my meal. I normally get the vegetarian Phad Thai, though people who are strict about not eating meat should know they use fish sauce in their recipe. Note: I read some bad reviews about this place that I found odd. I know everyone has different tastes, but some of the hyper-negative reviews don't reflect at all my experience. My only critique of this eatery is that it's not cheap, but to be honest, so are many places these days.
Ordered the egg rolls, bao bun, mango salad, chicken coconut curry and the peanut chicken. All had great flavour, bao bun pork belly was a bit salty but otherwise great food for faster service!
I don t recommend the chicken pho. It has no flavour.
Food is amazing, the staff is friendly and its a pretty place! A must try!
First time trying Sen Kitchen and the food was delicious! Cant wait to go back.
The food is still so good! I love this place and recommend it to everyone!
Ive ordered a few items from Sen so far: amazing chicken pad thai and spicy chicken curry. The pork bun and cold spring rolls needed more flavour, but in general everything was awesome. I will 100% be coming back for more!
Okay, lets talk value for money. Pad Thai is pretty good, robust mix of ingredients and flavour, however.... Chicken Pho soup... $17 for light broth and rice noodles with a few scraps of bland white chicken is a stretch, for $5.00 okay, $17 cmon lol.
Pad Thai and summer rolls are my favourites!
Vegetarian options: Excellent menu with freshly served veg.food.Great advice with a smile .Wonderful service.Clean, tidy fresh smelling environment .Washroom clean and easy access, too.Would, recommend this lovely restaurant to ALL.Will, surely come back . Kid-friendliness: Yes,very obliged management to receive children .No obligation of any sort .Accomadating ,too.Very, delighted children
I waited 15 minutes and my order fried rice was terrible. The flavor was simply white rice and salt plus it costed 19$. Do not waste your money.
Excellent food , coconut curry and general Tao chicken must try .
Fast service, polite staff, exceptional food. To order general Tao with chicken and bun Hà N i
Great food
One of my favorite asian restaurant for a weekend date. The food is fresh, flavourful pad Thai, and a warm atmosphere. They have live band playing on the weekend! No need to pay entrance fees, keep that money to spend on additional food or drinks !
Tasteless chicken pho that costs $17 is just wrong. Mango salad was okay but portions are small. I would not recommend this place.
The Peanut Chicken is the best thing in Queen St Fare Wouldnt mind a bit of a bigger portion for the price though
Had a disappointing lunch at Sen Kitchen today. Ordered the Chicken Pho for me and Pad Thai for my daughter. I hate leaving bad reviews but I think they need the feedback in case this is a pattern. The chicken pho was completely flavourless. It was like they skipped adding any spices or sauce. The broth was warm water. The pad thai tasted like it was doused with BBQ sauce there was no peanut flavour at all. As a $45 take-out lunch with drinks this was quite a let down.
Excellent!
Good lunch spot in a cool venue, bit pricey
Nice spot in Queen st fare. Food was good for a fast service place. Would like to try more items from the menu.
I ordered a Chicken Pho (Noodle Soup) at lunch. The broth was light and tasty --and very similar to what you would find at an authentic Pho restaurant. However, the chicken pieces were a bit thick and there was little of it. The bowl was about 90% noodles and had much fewer beansprouts than I would expect. I definitely did not feel like I was getting value for $15. I would probably not order the Pho again, but would be interested in trying other dishes if I was in the area.
I needed a quick snack as I was in a rush and i decided to order Vietnamese shrimp rolls to takeout. The rolls were fresh and absolutely tasteless. No flavour whatsoever. Each roll had one shrimp and some shredded rice noodles. It did include a very nice dipping sauce that was barely enough for one roll. They may have some tasty dishes but judging from this I am not likely to try.
The food is good, but the execution is subpar. I understand the lunch rush is busy but this is the case for every restaurant, and it needs to be managed. On more than one occasion now, my order number has been skipped and Ive seen my order waiting to be served up. Each time when Ive pointed that out, its been a 5 minute plus ordeal while the staff figure out of they can give me the order Ive paid for as u watch it getting cold and my lunch hour getting shorter. Wont return.
Ordered through Ritual, waited way longer than other people who ordered after me
Great food. Prompt service.
The only resto I go to at Queen Street Fare. I love the pork buns and the noodles with beef and fish sauce.
Great food. My favorite is the curry chicken!
Great food love the stir fry dishes, was recommended the ha noi bun since I get the same thing every time, its a very refreshing dish. Quick and fast service
Favourite stall at QSF!
10/10
Went for the beef pho which is no longer on their menu. They do have chicken and veggie however. Ended up just getting a pad Thai. Likely one of the worst Ive had. Drenched in sauce but completely bland. Didnt even have a lime for any kind of added flavour. Just nothing. Wouldnt recommend if youre at Queen st fare. Many better options.
