Detroit-style Square Pizza made by friendly people!
Went in for a quick pizza since it was recommended to check their place out. I loved the restaurant and atmosphere, went there when it was still summer so we had to option to dine in or outside. Was a little disappointed by their pizza, there was barely any sauce, and didn’t really enjoy the ham toppings, but everyone has their preference. Still a decent spot.
Got take out pizza and wings from here. When we picked it up the folks were friendly and told us this was the best gluten free pizza in the city. They were correct. This pizza is authentic deep dish and the gluten free option is amazing. The wings and dipping sauces were also on point. If you are reading this stop and order some pizza,!
Ordered in a pizza. Suuuper thick crust, kinda messy to eat. I do agree with a lot of the comments, I know "light on the sauce" is how these are made but if this didn't have the extra sauce drizzle on top it would be not nearly enough, but with it, it was sufficient. Overall pretty good flavor, it's a lot of bread though, but I'd definitely ask for extra sauce if you like... basically any sauce.
Ordered for the first time last night. The pizza was loaded with pepperoni, which had a great flavour! It was cooked to perfection and was quite delicious. Overall, was a good first experience and will try other options off the menu as I wanted something pretty basic this time.
Last night we ordered two gluten free pizzas and were really happy with the quality and taste. We ordered the Hawaiian and the Im-Pesto-ble. The dough was very soft and airy. If I wasn't already used to this gluten free flour I would have questioned if it was actually gluten free. The base was not greasy at all but still had the right browning and crunch. And the baked cheese edge that makes Detroit pizza was perfect. All the toppings were fresh and flavourful. The only complaint was it left us feeling very thirsty an hour later. They do charge an extra $4 for gluten free but based on the price of gluten free flour these days (and I'm pretty sure this is an Italian flour), it is good value.
We shared the pizza among 4 people at a conference, and nobody would touch the last piece. Definitely way too much crust, and not enough sauce (very dry), as others have commented. Mediocre quality cheese. The Pizza Hut pizza that someone ordered to replace their portion got high praise from everyone, comparatively. Their staff are very helpful though.
It wasn’t bad nor good, it was buttery and salty, and sadly there was nothing else to it. It was definitely filling but was not satisfying. The toppings are mediocre, meat is dry and there simply was not enough toppings to curve the overwhelming fat and oil in your mouth. The bread was tough, the cheese was the texture of plastic and toppings just felt, tasted and look old. The quality of the pizza is not a good representation of the price, the value was not correct.
Detroit Style Pizza at its finest. Had the privilege to trying this pizza multiple times and it hasn’t disappointed. Also, hard to pick a favorite. One of the things I love about Stay Gold is they run the variation of pizzas available and the special pizza they run once a month - ala up in smoke which was absolutely tasty. Try it out for yourself, the Bee sting is a great pizza to start with. Food 5 Atmosphere 5 Customer Service 5 Cleanliness 5 Overall experience 5 Can’t wait to have another. Please bring back the lobster
One of the best pizza in town Must try Food
Had the best pizza I ve ever eaten here. I m coeliac and the staff were very knowledgeable about gluten - the price is great and the portion size is fantastic, absolutely nothing not to like. 10/10
Dietary restrictions: The best gluten free pizza in town!!! Cannot get enough of this place Recommended dishes
I had this delivered. My wife has Celiacs disease and usually we can only have thin crust, mediocre pizza. The gluten free pizza here was so good that we got it two days in a row!
First time ordering here. Had the Detroit Rocky City Pie and oh my oh my oh my what a pizza. I ll be back for sure.
My wife and I after spending all in the emergency room needed a reset. We found this place. Everything was perfect. 10/10
Stay Gold more like Stay Away. I don t remember the last time I ordered pizza and was disappointed. Dry , flavourless and spongy
It s just bread. Like it s a square loaf of bread with pizza toppings on it. It s not true Chicago style with thick melty cheese and tomato sauce. Still tastes good because who doesn t love melted cheese and meat but I wouldn t get it again.
It was delicious, I recommend going here.
Best pizza ever!!A must if you are visiting Ottawa
Once you have a bite of a crisp-edged corner piece, you can t help but feel a profound sense of peace and enlightenment. This parlor has tapped into the divine secrets of Detroit-style pizza and is generously sharing them with us mere mortals.
Highly recommend The best pizza ever Food
Worth the hype! Finding the place was tricky as it is served within a bar. 1 pizza is sufficient for two.
Very bad pizza
I went here last Thursday, the photos do NOT do the pizza justice, expensive for the portions however worth it ( I believe an adult could eat the whole pizza themselves and be full) I got pepp talk w/ hot honey drizzle (wasn t necessarily « HOT » honey however still really good) food is amazing 26$ including tax for 4 slices of pizza
Absolutely delicious!! We tried the Detroit Rock City pizza and it was perfection. It s so nice to finally find some different pizza here in Ottawa. Can t wait to try more!
Visually, these pizzas look like Detroit-style pizza, but the flavour isnt there. We ordered their Pepp talk and bee sting and were very disappointed. Their dough was bland and tasted like a middle-of-the-road focaccia (at best) instead of a Detroit-style crust. The cheese was burnt on the edges instead of caramelized, and the sauce was almost non-existent and not very good. I ended up finishing the Pepp talk the next day with the addition of my homemade pizza sauce on top as a quick meal, but I tossed the bee sting in the garbage because the flavour was just awful. I rarely have pizza leftovers, and its even rarer that those leftovers dont get eaten the next day. If you want a Detroit-style pizza, I would skip this and go with a grocery store deep dish instead. Visuals: 10/10 - It looked legit, and thats why I tried it. Cheese: 1/10 - Burnt and could be better. Mozzarella is usually fine if you cant find Wisconsin brick cheese, but dont overcook it. Dough: 1/10 - Flavourless and weird texture. Use more salt or something. Pepperoni: 2/10 - Way too many and burnt. There is an overreliance on ezzo-style pepperoni these days. Sauce: 1/10 - too little and had a funky taste. soppressata: 1/10 - I usually like soppressata, but this was not good Hot honey: 4/10 - Should just have been called honey. It is too sweet and has no heat I hope it was just a bad batch, but its unlikely.
The gluten free pizza is amazing, I can t believe I haven t found this place earlier! Dietary restrictions: Gluten free
Dont be lead astray by first impressions! When I first opened the box I thought it looks a little small for two people and then I got halfway through the first piece and realized that a piece of pizza with a crust 4 times thicker than Im used to fills you up differently. Ive never had square shaped pizza, so I was happy to see that it comes cut up into 4 pieces. Detroit style is different from what Im used to, so I might ask for extra sauce for my next order. Im not familiar with the numbering on Elgin street, so I did wander back and forth for a bit looking for it, but the bartender was friendly and welcoming when I got there. Thanks!
Really good gluten free crust!
If you only want to eat bread and cheese then this is the pizza for you! Asked for extra sauce and still nothing. Traditional light sauce in no excuse, Ive had great Detroit style pizza before.
Quality toppings and cooked perfectly for my liking (a little crispy). We ordered two pies, pepperoni and bee sting, both were excellent. Price point is on the higher side but a place like this is aiming for quality over quantity so a nice treat.
This pizza is deadly delicious. Unlike any other pizza place, it s almost like lasagna pizza thick crust, cheesie, rich, yum
Great vibes, great pizza!
Went their last summer and keep dreaming to come back, I live in Montreal. By far the best Detroit style pizza I had, top 5 pizza ever. Had the Up in smoke, brisket was tasty and melting in the mouth, perfect balance taste with the pickles and gooey cheese. Home made brew was a great match. Only thing negative is it was hard to find, as it is (was) in a local bar, no real advertising on the outside.
The dough is very spongey, soft, and surprisingly bland (the texture is reminiscent of injera bread). The sauce was alright (good amount). The cheese has a strange texture that I didnt enjoy. It makes terrible left overs. Id eat it again if it were free but I would never pay for this.
Dietary restrictions: One of the best gluten free pizza dough out there. Often think they made a mistake because you cant tell the difference. So good. Food
Not great. I lived in Michigan for years, and this pizza is about as mediocre as that State. Pretty dry, and the price point is way too high for what you get. Not happy about my choice tonight.
Have gotten the Bee Sting and Spicy and they were both delicious pizzas; very well made with quality ingredients. Ordering and pickup have been a breeze so far.
My fiancee and I have thoroughly enjoyed the gluten-free options (I think it may be the best pizza in town), but we were disappointed tonight when we called multiple times to have the gluten free options turned on for Uber Eats. They kept promising to turn it on, but seemed to be rushing me off the phone and telling me what I want to hear. they didnt seem to care whether or not the service issue was fixed or not. Dietary restrictions: I cant believe it is NOT gluten!
Best pizza Ive had in Ottawa! We tried the spicy and pickle pizza and both were unreal. Definitely coming back to try the others! Garlic dipping sauce was super good too.
I ordered uber eats from here tonight and I sure didnt get a Detroit style pizza... What showed up was a loaf of focaccia that had been cooked, then topped afterwards and thrown in a broiler. The first hint was that the order only took about 12 minutes to be picked up by my delivery partner, where as any other time I ordered Detroit style pizza its a minimum 40 minute wait. I dont know why theyre trying to speed things up at such a massive cost to quality but this wasnt a pizza, it was dry, twice baked focaccia thrown in a broiler with some cheese. Really a terrible experience. Clearly a prebaked focaccia with toppings added later and tossed in a pizza oven to melt.
I was really excited for this place because I love Detroit style pizza and there are barely any options in Ottawa and their pictures on instagram looked amazing. However, when I got the Shroom Service Pie, the cheese was really dry as if it was overcooked, there was barely any sauce, essentially a mouthful dry cheese and bread, and the mushrooms were scarce for a pizza named after Shroom Service Pie. Very disappointed, especially for the price of $30 a pie.
Way too doughy
Being from Windsor-Detroit (and suffering with Ottawa pizza for the last 3 years) I was so excited when I discovered this restaurant. A buddy and I ordered 2 pies for take-out. There are a ton of positives: the crust is flavourful and the ingredients are high-quality. That said, the meat is quite salty and both pizzas were really in need of more sauce as things felt a bit dry. The impression I get based on our experience and reading other reviews is that the pizzas are at their best when fresh out of the oven. Overall, there is a lot to love and Ill be coming back to give things another shot
Pizza is always great from here. Great communication when I needed to cancelled a large pre-order (with notice- I m not one of those last minute cancellations)
Finally a spot with Detroit style Pizza. Love that we have a good one now. Deep and crispy as they should be.
Worst pizza in Ottawa. Tasted as if it was baked three days ago and I believe it was. No wonder we were sitting alone in that restaurant.
Best gluten-free pizza I ve ever had. Can t even tell it s gluten-free. As someone with a wheat allergy, I can t over state how hard it is to find good gluten-free pizza. Stay Gold absolutely surpasses all others. My employees also really enjoyed their regular crust too. Truly one of the best deep dish experiences in Ottawa
It s okay. We were a large group so got quite a few of the options. Top picks were the bee/ honey one and Hawaiian, but consensus was it s not super. It is very filling so not a bad price. We won t get again but from reviews it s seems others love it.
Good if you like thick crust. We got the gluten free pizza and was surprised that we could barely tell. We ate it fresh out of the oven and it was soft, fluffy, cheesy, meaty. I prefer thin crust but if Im in the mood to get stuffed, this is a good option.
Stoked to have a delicious gluten free pizza option in the city
We enjoyed the pizza when it first opened and its been awhile since we got it so we thought it would be a good Halloween treat, sadly it was the opposite. The crust didnt have the same sourdough taste and chew, it was quite bland and oddly crumbly for a pizza crust. The cheese was alright, it was as if it was put on halfway through baking. The BBQ chicken chunks were too big for a pizza (they were thinly sliced before) and BBQ sauce was quite boring, too sweet and basic, whereas the old darker BBQ sauce had more flavour. There was also no salsa verde. Notorious PIG was alright, toppings kept falling off, cheese didnt really hold on to anything. The middle wasnt really cooked all the way and collected all the cheese
Delicious pizza, friendly staff. Its definitely the best gluten free dough in the city. Partner isnt celiac and also loves the pizza here, wed definitely recommend this pizza. Only missing one star because I ordered 2 sauces and got home to only one in the box.
Fantastic Detroit style pizza
Excellent pizza, texture and price.
It is (no exaggeration) the best pizza we have had in Ottawa. It s affordable and you get a lot for your money! The ingredients are perfectly balanced. The meat is crispy and delicious. The crust is chewy. And the cheese melts to the edges of the crust which makes it a crunchy delight! Lots of dipping sauces to choose from. Best of all - the service is super speedy and friendly! And we love the branding!
So we seen this guys on the news really I have to say best pizza ever so good well done and plus you can order beer nothing better then a good stay gold pizza beer and hockey game.... And this guys give back to Ottawa food bank makes it even better cheers
The owner told us we are the first to order the up in smoke , very good pie! They are pizza geniuses using smoked brisket and ......I wont spoil it for yall! Must try , BEST KIND! STAY GOLD #1 Had to order again, this time I order shroomservice and mission impestoble!!! How good you ask??? THIS GOOD
Decent but there are many better options in the city
Had this pizza on family day weekend. All I can say is wow, incredible. Might be the best in Ottawa. I recommend getting the extra sauce. We got the Pep Talk and Bee Sting. For $18 it feeds 2 people as the slices are very thick and full of toppings. Highly recommended and definitely worth the drive downtown.
Best pizza in town.
Very tasty but very cold pie. I was excited to have some hot, fresh, tasty pizza. So I ordered take out and showed up 5 minutes early for my order, to make sure it wouldn t be sitting around long. Still, somehow the pizza was barely above room temperature when they brought it out :(. The box does include a disclaimer that they cannot control the temperature (???). But this is cold comfort for someone expecting a fresh hot pie! I wish I knew before ordering so I could have preheated my oven or just bought a frozen pizza instead. Minor inconvenience but major disappointment.
Amazing deep dish pizza and awesome service from Natalie and Stephanie. Will be back asap.
Phenomenal pizza, really good quality.
I used to travel to the U.S a couple of times a month for work and always made a point of having Pizza whenever I was in Michigan, so when I heard that there was a Detroit style pizza in Ottawa I was excited to get one but was left disappointed. It s tough to leave an unfavourable review on an establishment during these time and let me tell you that the service was really friendly. I ordered a Small pepperoni and asked for light cheese, I payed and and asked if I should come back to pick it up in 15-20 minutes and was told that it would be ready in 5 minutes, so this immediately set off an alarm for me. I went out to my car and came back in 10 minutes, again super friendly staff recognized me and handed me my pizza and also gave me a garlic dip. As I walked out I was surprised that the box was not even coming close to warming up my hands. I got to the car and opened it up and it looked amazing and totally like anything you d find in Michigan with a generous amount of nice pepperoni although it was heavier on the cheese then I wanted that was fine, I d just peel away some, and when I peeled away the top layer of cheese I could see that most of the cheese underneath wasn t melted, not even close, it was in flakes, The Pizza was stone cold! Not sure how that can happen 10 minutes after ordering a fresh pizza? The corners were nice and crisp and the pepperoni was outstanding but the middle of the pizza was a huge disappointment and unfortunately it ended up in the garbage.
Ordered here multiple times now. Pizza is very unique for Ottawa. Love the thick and chewy dough with the cheesy crunchy crust. Toppings are high quality and they have some different variations of classic pizzas. The bee sting is top notch! Be sure to put in comments for the extra Detroit style sauce on top! This was the first time ordering the cocktails - Rum punch and Is it today or tomorrow. Both were great. Loved the aperol twist on both. Highly recommend, just wish they delivered to the south end.
Amazing pizza. Amazing people. Cant wait to order again. A gem.
Super friendly staff! Tried the Pepp talk and the spicy and they were both amazing! Now I just want more
Delicious and a great bang for your buck ! Fresh ingredients, amazing crust and super filing !
We got drawn in by the bright pink sign on Elgin St advertising crispy, golden pizza and Im so glad for it! To start, the online ordering process was smooth and simple. The pizza was ready for pick up right on time, fresh out of the oven, and the staff who greeted us was incredibly friendly and even gave us some free garlic dips to try out. And best of all, the pizza we got (Mission ImPESTOble) definitely surpassed my expectations. The crust was crispy and soft, like focaccia bread, and was topped with high quality cheese and tomatoes. Although the pizza was only 4 slices, it was incredibly dense and was definitely plenty to feed two people, with some for leftover. To the staff person who gave us our order - if youre reading this, the garlic dip and pesto pizza pairing was scrumptious! Though this was our first time trying Detroit-style pizza, it definitely wont be the last.
I ordered for the first time tonight ! Amazing
LOVED the Gluten-Free pizza. I am celiac and have never had a better pizza in my life, so nice to have not only an option for me but an amazing option. My family had the regular pizza and loved it just as much. I would highly recommend Stay Gold pizza to locals and visitors to Ottawa - a must try and a must go back!
Friendly service, good pizz
Went there for the first time less than an hour ago. The pizza tastes fantastic! Dont underestimate how filling it is. I got the Shroom Service, and it was really really really tasty. But to top it off, one of the owners, named Duong, actually came across the street to give me napkins and asked if everything was to my liking. They care and it shows. Will definitely be going back again.
Pizza was unreal, would recommend!
Take out pizza has been nice, each one is like 4 meals as its heavy pie, 5$tar
Received Pepp Talk with burnt pepperoni instead of bee sting. First try and last. Too bad.
This was my first time trying deep-dish, Detroit-style pizza, and I was impressed! The 9x9 size is quite filling for 2 people, and at a very fair price. I will definitely order again!
Great pizza overall. Great service, they also make a point to thank you by name every time you order. The dough is awesome with the crispy sides. A bit on the expensive side but a great addition to the Ottawa food scene. Have gone 3 times now and will return again.
Loved the pizza. It was ready right at pick up time. Right amount of cheese and toppings. Would definitely recommend!
Detroit deep dish hits different!! This pizza is a dream come true. If you like spicy, ghost pepper aioli is king. Thanks for showing my taste buds the afterlife :)
This pizza is everything. The bee sting in particular. Friendly service as well, easy pickup. Highly recommend!
Very Good pizza, crumb was extremely soft and airy, crust was perfectly crispy and caramelized from the iron pan, and the toppings were high quality. Highly recommend, especially their Mission ImPESTOble pizza.
Ordered the chicken pizza and it was pretty good. I really wish the dough was more moist. One box is plenty for two people. Price point was high for what you get. Might try it again another time.
First time here the pizza was great! Only reason I didn t give 5 stars is because by the time we picked up our order and got to the hotel it was luke warm (which is no fault to the restaurant) so we couldn t fully review it at its best. But even luke warm it was really good Detroit style pizza! Will definitely visit again. I would recommend to anyone looking for a change From Traditional style pizza as this will be money well spent.
Got the Nudja miss me baby! This was a spicy meat along with ricotta cheese. The crust was crispy, the dough was fluffy. Best part. I can tell they thought about ingredients. You know Im gonna find a way to improve it. :)
Pizza was a disappointment. The picture makes it seem much larger than it actually is. Got the bee sting pizza and the flavour was very underwhelming, mediocre - definitely not worth the price. Would not order again.
The pizzas seem like they are quite small for the price, though this Detroit style pizza put all other deep dish pies to shame. The dough is almost like a bowl, with crispy cheesy crust and what felt like 2 of toppings towards the middle. The garlic dip was good. Given the amount of food crammed onto the piece, the price of the pizza makes sense. I ordered online, but for whatever reason my order was misplaced somewhere between skipthedishes, the restaurant confirming the order, and my showing up at the quoted pickup time. Basically they had to start it from scratch. The staff at The Standard were very apologetic and offered free drinks. Id rather have the pizza :( Once made, the pizza was alright. Some great topping overall, but the chicken on the Chicks Dig BBQ was occasionally off for me. Its definitely worth a try. I plan to give it another shot.
Delicious pizza!!!
DELISH.
First time having deep dish wont be the last :)
Amazing deep dish pizza (the pesto one or the smoke house would probably be our favorites). Great service and very friendly staff. 10/10
Amazing pizzas!! Margarita mamma & besting pie are my fav
Best pizza Ive ever had in Ottawa. Staff were very knowledgeable and considerate regarding gluten cross-contact and celiac disease. I highly recommend this place for celiacs. The first time we ordered their gluten free crust, we couldnt even believe that the crust was gluten free because it was so fluffy and chewy. Pizza looks small for its price but is very thick and filling.
Oh. My. God. Just order it. I kept putting it off because I was all How good can it actually be, its just Pizza, its all the same. Very wrong. My party ordered 4 to split and WOAH. These are unbelievable. Im already ready to try more off the menu and we have a new staple Pizza place.
Calling all celiacs and gluten intolerants to Stay Gold on Elgin! As someone who is celiac and has visited family in Detroit countless times, I can say that this without a doubt equals Detroit-based Buddys deep dish square gluten-free. It does Detroit style pizza justice...and Detroit knows pizza, including two of the worlds biggest pizza chains originating from there. While $29 for a basic Stay Gold pepperoni might sound like a lot, its a truly a beast in size that can easily give you 4 meals/servings from the four quarters. I am so grateful that there is a place around Ottawa that makes a thick crust gluten-free pizza, let alone a masterpiece. Just tell them your celiac and theyll take the necessary precautions. Ive never had an issue ordering from them.
10/10 Great awesome Detroit pizza. The quality match up the price
It is so good! The simple pepperoni is great but try at least one of other kinds. Everything is fresh and top notch
Good recipes that change from time to time. The crust is great, cheese right to the edge. Awesome Detroit style pizza.
Great spot for Detroit style pizza, maybe the only place in Ottawa to get this style right now. A few different types available with creative toppings. The crust is crisp and buttery.
This pizza is like no other in Ottawa - crisp, generous and a ton of flavour. Highly recommend this place - go in with an open mind and youll be a big fan!
Loved it! Bee Sting pizza tasted so good!
I was incredibly excited to see one of my favorite styles of pizza Detroit-style finally being offered in Ottawa. Also, for what it s worth, being a New Yorker, I have incredibly high standards of pizzas in general so my pizza palate (if there even is such a thing) is quite critical. I ordered the Pepperoni and the Bee Sting cost around $40 online, which was available for prompt pickup at the designated time I picked. When I got home the pizza looked great, but unfortunately that s where the superlatives ended. The pizzas were among one of the poorest I ve had, in Canada or otherwise. The pepperoni smelled and tasted foul; almost gamey and raw. The dough was way too sweet and the cheese not properly distributed within the dough. I had also asked for extra sauce and was disappointed that it was drizzled on top, versus the normally-expected extra portion being added below the toppings. The reason I wanted to write this review is two-fold: one to provide my honest feedback and more importantly, two, so that the owners/chef can revamp their recipe. By no means do I take pride in writing a poor review and I truly believe the pizza has potential. And honestly, the good people of Ottawa do deserve a great Detroit-style option. When I think of great Detroit-style pizzas, these include Emily s, Emma-squared and Lions, Tigers and Squares (all three in NYC), so my expectations are high. Some unsolicited advice on what you can potentially do to improve: - Source better pepperoni (and smaller, thicker cuts of pepperoni would be better suited to this style of pizza). Also crisping the pepperoni more would help with the texture - Cut down (like a lot) on the sugar - Put extra sauce on the bottom of the toppings, not top - This won t improve taste but will make it more Detroit-style : change the shape from square to rectangle and make smaller sizes so it s 6 slices not 4. This will also help with the cost-to-value ratio - Evenly distribute the cheese within the dough so it s not just a solid layer of cheese - I love chili-honey but this one seemed light on the chili and heavy on the honey (namely it seemed to add to the already high-sugared nature of the dough) - If you ever offer a vegan option (please do!), stay away from Daiya cheese. Things that I liked about the pizza: - Soppressata was great - The cheese was wonderfully toasted on the sides of the pizza - The cheese was good Again, the pizza has lots of potential to be great and I truly wish your new business tons of future success within Ottawa and beyond.
We live an hour and a half away from downtown Ottawa but boy was the drive worth it. We asked what they recommend and we got the chicks dig BBQ, and it was gooood! The bottom of the crust is crunchy, and the toppings are tasty! We had a bit of a chat with the owner, great guy. Humble and really friendly. The service was good over all, and the pizzas are fantastic!!! We might have ordered one while we were there but we went home with another one, a half and half (came with easy-to-follow heating instructions) and we liked them just as much! Highly recommended!!
pepperoni was rotten. we have both been sick all night. oddly tasted like sugar. revolting have informed the city for immediate inspection
Just hope nothing goes wrong with your order... Placed an order online through their website for the following day, everything pre-paid, including tip. Wanted to make sure it got in early and there would be no trouble. We live fairly close by, but didnt want to have to go out that night so we did delivery. Got confirmation email and credit card got charged right away, not the day of delivery. The day of, at the exact time the delivery was supposed to happen, I receive a call from them saying that they had a problem with their order system and that they couldnt see the orders until just now. I am told that the pizza is going in the oven right now and that it will be delivered asap. Already, this not ideal, but what can you do about it, problems happen. 45 mins later, the delivery guy finally shows up. And turns out he is missing part of the order. He apologizes and tells me that he is going to call in and have them deliver the missing part asap and that I would not be charged for those items. 1h05m later, 1h50 after the initial delivery time, still nothing and decide to call in. I have to explain what is happening and get put on hold. While on hold, I can clearly hear people talking in the background...they are basically saying that the missing part of the order was never prepared and never sent out for delivery. The person then picks up again, tell me that I am the next stop for the delivery person (I just heard you say that it never was sent out...) I get told again that I will not be charged for the missing part of the order, but that it may take a day or 2 for the reimbursement to show up. 10 mins later, drinks finally arrive, 2h after the initial time. They are delivered by the woman I spoke to on the phone. I get told that they remade them for me (thanks i guess ?...) Its now more than a week after this whole thing happened, and you know what ? Still no trace of any reimbursement. And remember, that reimbursement was just for the missing part of the order... I still paid a tip for the full order and yet had to deal with unreliable, unprofessional, service all evening. 1st strike: Delivery late by 45 mins 2nd strike: Missing parts of the order 3rd strike: Having to call in because the missing part never shows up 4th strike: Not actually refunding the missing part of the order as promised 3 strikes and youre out they say, well Stay Gold is definitely out in my book. Never ordering there again and will definitely advise everyone I know to not order from this business. If you do decide to order, well again, just hope nothing goes wrong. EDIT: Adding some more details following the owners response. I was only contacted after the review was posted. Then the owner said he had refunded the full amount the Monday following our order and that he was sorry he had not contacted us about it sooner. There was never any ask on our end to be fully refunded for that order, but the full amount did show up after we posted the review and the owner contacted us. One thing I want to address though is the fact that in both the response to this review and the email, the issue with the ordering system is the only thing that comes up as being a problem. There is never any mention of the follow up actions... I do mention above that for the first issue, problems happen, its fine. How about the rest of the problems ? Missing part of the order, having to call back in because staff forgot again, then the lack of follow up until a review is posted. Its communication and service that is the problem, not the ordering system. Updated rating since there was actually some conclusion in the end...
