Im still sitting here having my meal and enjoying the service. We were lucky to be looked after by Christine. She was absolutely amazing, very attentive, joined our conversation a few times. Seriously, this place needs more Christines. I will need to ask to sit in her section anytime we visit in the future. Christine, thank you for making a good dinner, a great evening and a great experience!!!

Went for my birthday dinner. They had a good selection of kids meal for our lil. Husband and I both had the prime rib dinner. It was perfectly cooked and tender . I also added a Yorkshire pudding to my meal. While husband and I started off our meals with Caesar salads, daughter received celery, carrots, dip and crackers as a starter. Lovely touch! After dinner, I received a lovely slice of their Billy Miner Pie, on the house. Apologies for not remembering our server s name. But he was wonderful. We had a lovely dinner and can t wait to go back.

Upscale dining experience; the top sirloin was very tender, the baseball steak less so. The electro music was too loud and not the soft lounge style music we would have preferrred.

We had an excellent supper here, as we always do. We had garlic baked shrimp and the gruyere mushroom dip for appetizers. Both were delicious and promptly served still hot. I had the New York strip loin, cooked to a perfect medium, while my wife had her usual prime rib, cooked med rare, which she loves. I am trying to eventually work my way through the steak menu here. Im about halfway and have never been disappointed in a choice. We had the featured dessert, sticky toffee pudding, which was super sweet and super tasty. We usually dont have room for dessert, but it was too tempting to pass up. Glad we went for it. As always the service was excellent. The waiter, Josh, was at our table within seconds of us being seated. Drinks arrived quickly, menu / features explanation was informative and quick, and there were lots of check ins but not too many. We love the Keg and we love this Hunt Club location. Always easy to find a parking spot! Highly recommended.

The food was literally the worst, and the staff were so rude.

Called for a 7:30, settled for an 8:15, walked out at 8:35 after being told another 2 minutes for the table, for the third time. They couldn t even find my name on their list after having found it the first time. Wasted Saturday.

Had a 4:45 reservation and were out of there at 6:45. Atmosphere much more relaxed than later in the evening. Shona was our server..one of the most attentive and knowledgeable we had in a long time.

Took a couple of our managers here last night for Dinner, and got the usual awesome service and food!! We had a person with us who cannot have any gluten and they were so careful. Shout to the amazing GM who looked after us!! Thanks Emily, we will be back for sure!!

It has been a while since we were at The Keg for dinner. We were there for our anniversary. The food was cooked to perfection. Our server Connor was wonderful. He was very pleasant, attentive, professional, great smile and ensured everything was to our satisfaction. Keep up the great service, it means alot.

Food was outstanding. On that alone, we will return. Server was very friendly, and nice to our 4 year old. Front of house wasnt very friendly, got a mean look when I stepped up to share my reservation details, and on the way out there was a group of them not paying attention to customers leaving. I felt awkward not being able to say thank you as we left. All in all, good experience but moody front of house.

Service was great, table we had was sending sun right into my eyes and was quite annoying the whole dinner. Got the keg burger and the bottom burger was quite soggy. Fries were good. Reminded me of wendys fries.

Went here on a Saturday evening with my wife. She had lobster and steak and I had the prime rib which was very good. The waiter I think his name was Julian, was pleasant.

Our mains were decent and our server was great, however our tuna appetizer was definitely lacking flavour, it was fresh but I was disappointed in the lack of seasoning. Our mains could use a bit more salt. I never received my Caesar salad.

Prime rib was not cooked well and kitchen service was slow, made the wrong drinks but corrected them ( made whiskey sours instead of amareto sours ) was not consistent with other keg experiences we have had. Its was very disappointing experience for a $250 meal with tip.

Been to this keg a few times as we live nearby. Tonight was our last time and we wont be back. Food was ok, chain restaurant expensive steak place ok....but as the kegs reputation IS steak and atmosphere, i can think of numerous other places that are better at both (Chop, moxies, Joeys). Being a Saturday, we expected it to be busy and without a reservation we were told 45-to an hour when we showed up at 6pm. No problem, Saturday peak time, totally expected. However, they reserve the bar and we spent the next hour and 15 waiting for a bar spot, and sitting on a bus bench in the crowded lobby. At no point could we have a drink while we sat, no appetizers samplers were offered, no hospitality... Just an endless of stream of Ottawas people of Walmart (who had made reservations unlike us) stroll in....does no one dress up for a nice meal anymore?? I guess crocs, socks, sweatpants and dirty sweaters are the new vibe? This contributes to a classy meets circus vibe for the restaurant as over half the people coming in while we waited were dressed for a trip to mcdonalds. We eventually were shuffled to the bar, and provided no drink menu or anything. The bartender was the friendliest person in the place serving us a menu and eventually a drink each. After about 15 minutes (so now 1.5 hours after arriving) we were greeted by another employee who pointed to our table and then followed us over. She then wondered away to get menus as we had not seen one yet. She returned and literally dropped the menus on the table and left. Then our server for dinner came along, she was obviously very busy. She did the bare minimum asking for our order and bringing bread. Someone else brought out food. We never saw her until she came by to ask if we wanted desert. The whole visit was extremely disappointing, the atmosphere is non-existent and the feeling was assembly line get you in and get you out. Not one person was overly accommodating or doing anything to make our visit enjoyable. I understand its Saturday evening and the place waa busy, but this visit is similar and consistent with the last two visits to this location, so on that note, we will not return to Hunt Club Keg, and definitely do not recommend if you are looking for a nice evening out to a classy steak place, as Hunt Club Keg is not that anymore! Id recommend driving 2 min west and grabbing a steak at Moxies.

Stephanie was our server this evening. From a wonderful warm attitude to excellent menu guidance for my complex food sensitivities Stephanie provided us with exceptional service.

The food was spectacular! We had the pistachio encrusted salmon and the no-paloma mocktails. Both were superb and the service was excellent. I dont normally think to go to the Keg because I dont eat red meat but the menu really is stellar. Highly recommend this location!

The Keg continues to raise the bar. Each time I visit the Keg, I find the meal experience to get better. The appys, main course ...Steak....is exceptional. The service was fantastic also. Great meal experience.

Service was excellent, and the food was great, but dont make the same mistake I made. The shrimp cocktail is nonalcoholic. You have to add your own booze. And, due to how thick it is, you have to add a lot to make it easier to drink.

Excellent food and excellent service ! I had the shrimp cocktail, 10oz fillet mignon and for dessert the chocolate cake. Every food item was excellent ! The steak was cooked to perfection ! It was so good ! It is a little pricey but you get high quality food. I will certainly go back again !

We had the BEST meal last night!! The steaks, ceasar brussels spouts and cheesy garlic toast were PERFECTION! Hats off to the amazing cooks! Our server, Meghan, deserves a shout-out because she was absolutely fantastic! Shes one of the best servers weve ever had. She treated us like we were long time friends and she was so natural and easygoing. Youre very lucky to have her on your team! Thanks for making our night out special since we hadnt been in so long. The food and atmosphere were good, however; what REALLY made our experience exceptional, was the amazing waiter who was the most attentive and hospitable waiter we have ever encountered anywhere. We were a group of 15+ and he was serving us all by himself. The BEST thing that he served us was his smile and kindness as he answered all of our questions and made us food recommendations. He was very patient and quick to respond whenever we needed anything! If we ever go back, it would be because of his service. Thanks, Andrew!

We had a great meal as always. But we attended there last night for a date and we had their newest waiter, Jared and he was absolutely amazing, impeccable manners, knowledgeable, quick, just made the whole experience so much better than normal (which is always great). Give that man a raise.

Purpose : Date Night (it has been months since our last) Place: We love the Keg due to its consistency and classic menu. They also have good seafood specials Service : Fast and Friendly Five minutes : menus and introduction Ten minutes : Table water, Drinks ordered Fifteen minutes : Drinks arrive Twenty minutes : KEG table bread arrives hot and fresh And so on, considering how busy they actually were, well done! Food : Keg Consistency as always, however!!! Food Substitution/Changes : Minor changes or substitutions at this location saw my wifes favorite part of the garlic shrimp dish come without a brioche bun and with a sweet version of the house bread, which was not as good and could not hold a candle to the usual brioche. The butter provided with the house bread was different than usual, it was whipped in it usual fashion but the garlic mix was strange and more sweet than usual almost like sugar had been added. . Typically the Keg would give you regular butter that was a long time ago, then they switched to whipped butter which is awesome, now they are whipping it and adding garlic which I love. It is however a bit sweet, axe the sugar if its there at all! The tuna tartar was also lacking tiny little extra garnish like green onion and a fair amount sesame seeds which have been present at other locations on many other visits. Meal summary : Despite subs or small chnages our meals were fantastic, See below our order. Drinks : Pinot noir x 2 Madri draft beer pint x 2 Table water Apps : Garlic shrimp with cheese Tuna tartar Mains : 10oz filet medium rare with garlic mash and seasonal veg (carrots and beens) 7oz filet medium with garlic mash and seasonal veg (carrots and beens) Desert : Too full this time around but normally, go for the cheesecake, creme Brule, or Billy miner are my top three choices. Total bill pre tip $245.00 Tip $40 They have adjusted their pos system to account for gift cards so you do not have to worry about tipping the restaurant staff on the remainder! The tip options consider any gift cards used. Overall a great experience but not the BEST EVER! Good location, would recommend others go here. Parking: Tones of space and connected to a hotel in the parking lot so plenty of space. Wheelchair accessibility: Ramps into the front door, no steps inside dining room, plenty of room around tables for wheel chairs.

Generally good experiences in past but terrible meals at Huntclub Rd, Ottawa location in early July.Contacted Keg and manager asked for my number which I sent...still havent heard a thing back. Very, very disappointing.

Shared a lively evening out last week. Why is all locations of Keg not the same service and quality. The Hunt club location is my go to.

Phil was our server and deserves 10 stars!!! Crab cakes, lobster gratinee, prime rib, steak, lobster tail all tastes delicious! Have been coming here since it opened and will always be a return customer!

Firstly..my Cosmo and my partner s beer were great, as was the wine with dinner. I am not a complainer..but when you splurge and order a $74 lobster..it is a bit daunting to have it arrive practically uncut..a struggle to get into the easier parts..so much that I had the uncracked tail boxed to bring home. I am a Maritimer..and have opened dozens of lobster..but to expect you to attempt this job when dressed for dinner .and as well..it wasn t quite cooked enough.

Excellent service, nice and friendly people an good food

Food: Ive never had a bad meal at The Keg and this one was no exception. Had the Peppercorn Striploin cooked to perfection (medium rare), with the Escargot, which is served in one of the best sauces around. Service: From the greeting hostesses to our waitress, everyone is very friendly, as fast as reasonably expected and helpful. Atmosphere: One less star only because it was a bit chilly in the restaurant, and its located in a somewhat boring part of the city. Other than that, we felt welcome and the place was lively on Fathers Day!

My parents had date night at The Keg on Hunt Club tonight and they were served by Jake. They raved not only about the food but mainly about his service. They said next time, they ll make a reservation and be sure to request to be seated in Jake s section. Thank you Jake for taking such good care of my parents on their night out.

I sat and thought about the rating for a while. I will preface my negative review with the positive note that the 4 others I dined with all enjoyed their meals a lot, they were incredibly satisfied and impressed with everything and if they were the type to write reviews they would probably have given a 4 or 5 star review. I however was very disappointed. I would give a 1 star for my meal but since everyone else enjoyed their meals I bumped up to a 2. I had the vegetarian shepherds pie. In the photo i already had a forkfull removed for a first bite and you can see how shallow the dish is filled, maybe about 1-1½cm deep of food in the dish, really felt like a snack if anything. If it were to all be scraped in to a measuring cup, it would be maybe ½cup or cup. Its mashed potatoes, lentils, peas, carrots....cheap ingredients so not sure why such a skimpy serving. It was also served so unexpectedly scalding hot that I burned the roof of my mouth and its been slowly and painfully healing all week. This is where I debated on a 3/5 star for service (server was nice although things were slow coming out, not the servers fault for that i believe) but went with 2/5 out of a bit of spite for not getting a warning that it would be dangerously hot and having to tolerate a painful mouth sore all week.

This is a nice restaurant with good food and wonderful service. I always find time for me and my baby girl with her stroller. Its a good place to have a nice meal and drinks.

Food was the usual Keg quality which has rarely disappointed us. The difference at Hunt Club Keg was our server Shonah. She was very professional and an absolute delight to speak with. Definitely a keeper.

Last evening my wife and I went with another couple to the Keg HuntClub , it was a fantastic experience, two of us chose the blackened chicken and two had the salmon, all meals were delicious and memorable, the service was outstanding. Great experience we will definitely be back.

Great date night place but music could be improved(Jazz would have been better for 6pm on a Saturday).

We booked our table over the phone on a Monday for 5:15. When we arrived they said they do not have any servers for five people so we have to wait until 5:30! So we waited. Larger groups were seated but not us. After another 15 minutes and speaking to Sophie Paquette the service manager, we were finally seated. We could have left the house later instead of waiting there for half an hour and watching other people being seated! The manager never apologized!!! Update: The owner asked me to email them, but they blocked my email!!! Great customer care KEG...

We thought we would celebrate our anniversary as in past years, our expectations were not met. The steak was very undercooked, sent back and then came back dry and overcooked. The server had no control over that, was very nice however, didnt make it right. Thats too bad because special nights dont happen everyday.

A very lovely place for celebrations. We were there for our 50th wedding anniversary with all the kids and grandkids. The service was excellent, and it took great care to make sure that my wifes dairy allergy and my son-in-laws celiac conditions or properly catered to. Dietary restrictions: Very careful about the dietary concerns of the whole group. Manger even dropped by to explain options and get clarification of our needs.

Went to the keg with my boyfriend for the first time as he received a gift card. The staff was very friendly and helpful and it s was a nice place, no complaints there. However we we re actually shocked that the Keg has such good reviews. The food was not good at all. We ordered a steak , lobster and vegetable and gnocchi on the side and I m not exaggerating when I say there wasn t a drop of seasoning on the veggies and gnocchi. It was actually shocking how bad it was and the mushrooms honestly tasted like wet socks. I couldn t finish my plate. The steak and lobster were also meh. The food overall was the most blend food I ve ever had at a restaurant. Their appetizers on the other hand were good.

Service was spectacular, appetizer was delicious, the steak left us both with full bellies. Thank you very much.

For my husband birthday last night we went there and they put us in a very bad spot little table I said I get like it give me another table there were many table available but they didn t clans few minutes after another customer came to sit in the same row but she didn t like it and they gave a her the same table that I asked for that was very disappointing since it was our special night and we didn t the discrimination and environment very bussinesy not cozy. I won t go back there because of stuff

My server on the patio was very good, attentive and friendly. I ordered an Old Fashioned, it was good, the only minor issue was they forgot the cherry, no big deal. Unfortunately, the food fell far short. The crab cakes were good. The peppercorn steak was not. It was chewy and only seasoned with a heavy dose of black pepper, no salt, so the only flavor was overwhelming pepper. The accompanying whiskey sauce was bland, so it didnt add much flavor. The sautéed veggies were very undercooked, basically just crunchy, oily veggies with no seasoning. Finally the side of Mac and Cheese I ordered was very disappointing, there were more breadcrumbs than cheese and it was totally bland. Maybe I just had bad luck, because the reviews here all seem to be good, but I would not go out of my way to visit again.

We ll start out with the negatives, ordered a medium rare steak, which came out rare. We were placed at a table in the centre of the room, but there wasn t enough room for people to get by which resulted in one of us constantly being bumped into which took away from the experience. Now for the positives, a couple of great vegan options, our waitress offered great service and the atmosphere was nice, like being at a lounge. Vegetarian options: Meat loaf shepherds pie Mac and cheese

Great experience! Anya was our waitress and she was absolutely fantastic, polite, very attentive and was able to take care of everything we asked for. My steak was not cooked to the full medium rare level, and she took it back without question and the manager came back with a full new plate for me even though they had only taken the steak back. Manager apologized again and told me to pick a dessert or an alcohol beverage from the menu on them. Was completely unexpected but very impressed. Looking forward to enjoying another meal there soon!

Five star for this location, rating for a chain restaurant. I believe our servers name was Jake for this particular evening. Service is great. I have always had great service at The Keg restaurants, no matter which city. Drinks, apps, mains, and desserts came out without much wait. Everyone was happy with their meal. Jake was attentive and receptive to our needs. He made sure our steaks were cooked to our liking. The most impressive part is that he caught on that we were celebrating someones birthday, so he brought out a slice of cake + candle and joined in on the singing, haha! It was awesome!!

Always amazing service and quality.

Booked reservations but place was lonely halffull, my thought when ordered Prime rib was a bone in prime rib grilled, when it came it was a prime rib roast, rare not medium which was second mistake, third, it was cold, when ordering, the waiter should state, would you like a grilled or roast. My wife had lobster and sirloin which she enjoyed very much. Ill think twice on ordering next time, and wont depend on the server to think what I wanted.

Went in to get prime rib on a Saturday and they didnt have any. How do you not have the item youre most known for on a weekend? We left the restaurant and went to another Keg location instead. This is the third time its happened to me at this Keg, and I wont be giving them a 4th chance. Absolute incompetence.

Very expensive and the steak was fatty. A disappointing experience and also felt rushed to exit the table.

The food was excellent. My steak was cooked perfectly and the waitress was very efficient and got all of our orders correct. I just found the atmosphere a little loud.

Over the years the quality of food has gone down ,and prices up. This is no longer considered a fine dining experience unfortunately. There are better options out there.

We had a great meal! Top sirloin, garlic mashed potatoes, and shrimp. Our server was very friendly, but not as quick as I would have liked (I will blame it on the place being busy). We enjoyed our dinner.

Parking: Had the filet mignon & it was cooked to perfection medium rare. Easy to miss parking lot entrance on Hunt Club as Keg sign is seen only after you pass the entrance (use Days Inn entrance). You have to double back otherwise. Food : 5/5 |

Great service, food and drinks!

Food was not as good as it used to be and prices have skyrocketed. We met up with friends but might consider going elsewhere next time. Vegetarian options: Lots of options for vegetarians and a few for vegans.

Steaks were very undercooked, service was not great at all. Extremely disappointing and first bad experience at a keg location.

Completely accommodating to us and our two year old daughter. They accepted a last minute easter reservation and set us up in a lovely booth. Food was very well prepared and we tried the gruyere and mushroom dip for the first time and highly highly recommend! Well done all around!

Great service, great food, an outstanding service. We had a special family day and the staff made unforgettable with the level of service they provide, Adam was our waiter he was amazing, not to mention the hospitality we got from everyone at this location. Im definitely coming back with my family.

The 1st time I went to the keg with my family, I was so impressed with the service and my meal was truly amazing! Everyone was so very pleased with every dish and our filet mignon were prepared perfectly. Our server was Carl (hope I can mention his name) and he was the best server Ive ever had. The 2nd time I went with different family members to celebrate my 75th Birthday and I was very disappointed and upset. My granddaughter ordered well done, and I and 2 grandsons ordered medium rare but all of our filet mignon came rare sitting in a pool of blood. The rest of the meal was great though and they didnt charge my granddaughter for her meal. I was told that the keg gives a free slice of cake for a persons Birthday ( we did inform them of my Birthday) but didnt receive it. We all felt as though our server was rushing us and she wasnt very friendly. I seriously dont know if I will eat there again which really saddens me.

We have been to a few Kegs in different cities and this one rates at the top. The food and the service were impeccable. Justin, our waiter, was friendly, professional, very helpful in making our choices and very efficient. Great experience for my wife s birthday. Thank you.

As always, amazing. I had the Teriyaki Sirloin ans my husband had the Sirloin Oscar. 10/10. Fast service even though they were packed. Also the crab cakes were soooo good. We usually get the tartar but the crab cakes did not disappoint. Highly recommend!

IT was our first time , waited long time to be seated but it was Friday evening without reservation ! I have never seen that many people waiting to be seated before in my life,and I was like it must be really good and I wasnt wrong.The wait was so worth it ,staff were amazing and attentive and food was soo delicious, we ordered different thing from chicken to steak to burger everything was delicious ,portion were big enough we were stuffed by the end of it we couldnt order desert.I was impressed by the maticoulous timing between each order it wasnt rushed but it wasnt too long despite how busy it was.Amazing experience and this restaurant is on the top of my list now .

The Keg & Cleaver is practically 50 years old and I ve enjoyed it for almost as long. Katie was marvellous.

The atmosphere was great, we were seated in front of the large fireplace. The presentation of the Prime rib was a 4 out of 5 and the baked potatoes were over done.

Ribs were pretty good

food was wonderful. steak cooked beautifully as i requested. portion was great too. my only complaint is the calamari was a bit chewy/rubbery which i was surprised about. the dips with it were delicious but as others also mentioned before, not big enough for the amount of calamari plated. waitress never refilled our waters and was busy chatting away for way too long with her other tables instead of tending to us. would return forsure just hope we get a different waitress next time

The only i place i trust for a great steak! My only complaint is that i find it a bit dark. Other than that 5 star!

Service was great and food was fantastic.

Overall experience was okay but not great. We had my wedding dinner there and I gave them over a months notice yet they still seated our group Im in two separate table with my back toward the second table. There was a large long section that was empty and they could have put us there. The manager said she told us but over the phone she said they were right next to eachother and touching but she never said back to back.

Food & Servicd are always great at this location. Worth the extra money

Was looking forward to going to the Keg and having the prime rib for our 25th wedding anniversary. Got seated ordered our drinks and app. Server came by and let us know the prime rib sold out 1 hr ago. Server was very nice . She proceeded to talk up other cuts but prime rib was what i went there for. At this point the it would be embarrassing for us to leave. So i ordered the 20 rib steak . Double the size i wanted. I ended up bringing half home. They need to inform the customers when they arrive if the are out of there famous prime rib because i would have left.

Ive only ever had the steak and lobster and love it. The free icecream cake that they call billy miner pie on your birthday is yummy too. Kid-friendliness: I wouldnt deem this as kid-friendly, its more formal than anything.

I was quite dissapointed for the price. We had burgers and both of them were soggy. I wasn t able to finish it. Our server was very kind, however very forgetful. forgot to put our drinks in for order, had to ask for them again, amongst other things. The atmosphere was nice, nothing notable, just average. I ve only been here once, maybe we caught an off day, but I don t think I d go back after that experience.

My family and I are from out of town and visit here anytime were down in Ottawa. Its always amazing service and the staff are great. I am disabled and my service dog joins us when we visit. Thankfully the staff has been amazing to accommodate and help us get a table out of the way where my service dog is safe from being stepped on. We always call ahead and when we called today the staff member did asking if the service dog was registered with an accredited facility. In Ontario under AODA law service animals do not have registration or certification. Ontario only has doctors notes for service animals which the establishments can ask to see. I wanted to mention this so hopefully there wont be any issues with real service dog handlers in the future as many people sadly fake service dogs and will buy scam registrations off Amazon! Other than that small thing weve had so many amazing experiences and we look forward to coming back. Thank you got being so great! Wheelchair accessibility: Very accessible other than a door button being broken.

Service is amazing. Our server, Justin, was very friendly and always made sure we had a good experience. The food was delicious. Steak cooked perfectly and everything was delicious. It shouldnt be a surprise, but expect quite a bill at the end. The Keg is great for those special occasions where you want steak.

This in my opinion is one of the best steak house in Ottawa the portions are generous I had the famous 16oz prime rib with baked potato.. delicious!and cooked to perfection I started with the escargot and it was awesome... unfortunately I was hungry and never thought about taking a picture LoL next time and there will be a next time!!!

Atmosphere and food still feel like a chain restaurant. Steaks were alright. Salad not worthwhile taste and price wise.

The Keg - Hunt Club... a nice place to enjoy a great meal. Every time we come to this beautiful restaurant, we are pleasantly impressed with the overall experience. It was a busy Saturday night and yet, we were taken to our table at the precise time of our reservation. Our order was processed quickly, the steaks were cooked to perfection and everything in our plate was delicious. We were so grateful to be served by a waiter who has many years of experience at this location. Thank you, Phil O, for the excellent and professional service!! We truly enjoyed our meal and your friendliness! Congrats to the entire team of this establishment. We are grateful for your work!
