It’s a busy place. But be sure you get Gabe as your server. He recommended the best wine (Cabernet Sauvignon), which was red which isn’t my fav but was delicious! Gabe brought everything to us in the right order and at the same time (10 people). Great service. Well mannered. I’d come back only if Gabe was my waiter!!
I have visited this Keg location numerous times over the years and it never fails to deliver. The food is good quality and they deliver your steak to the exact doneness you request. Service is fast enough, and the tables and restaurant are kept clean and tidy. Overall, an elegant atmosphere. Of course, be prepared for premium price. Budget for $50-60 per person.
Good service. Nice selection of sparkling wine. Food was good and we got served quickly. Will come back when we are in the area. Loved the atmosphere on the bar side of the restaurant.
The staff was beyond helpful & knowledgeable. They really did offer me some great recommendation. The baseball steak 🥩🧑🍳💋 Host couldn’t have done a better job at seating us at our table🥰very professional. Not to mention it was clean 🧼 Thank you , and I appreciate you all.
Wanted to get a nice takeout dinner for my husband's birthday, which turned out highly disappointing. Ordered a medium filet mignon and medium rare rib steak which both came rare. It seemed like it was just cooked in a hurry with no care. You would think for a steakhouse and the amount of money being spent, that they would still care about the quality for take out orders.
We have two different steaks. Both were tender and delicious. One if the best steak, I’ve ever had. Menu for kids was good as well. Helped me to enjoy from my meal 😁
Really nice spot, and the customer service was great. The meat is NOT halal, but the mac and cheese was good. Also the complementary bread and whipped butter is delicious. I took the vegetarian meatloaf and honestly I wasn't the biggest fan. I wish they would offer halal options.
I must say, I was disappointed with the overall comfort of the seating. While the food and service were decent, the seating arrangement left much to be desired. The booth was quite uncomfortable making it difficult to move or eat for big people without feeling crowded. Furthermore, I ordered the calamari, but it was undercooked and bland. The lack of flavor and the texture of the dish were major letdowns. On a positive note, the service was good, and the staff was attentive and friendly. However, despite the excellent service, the table we were seated at was quite small for a party of four, which made it challenging to enjoy our meal comfortably. I believe that a more comfortable and spacious seating arrangement, and an improvement in the quality of dishes like the calamari, as well as providing larger tables for larger parties, would greatly enhance the overall dining experience. I hope the restaurant management can consider these aspects to improve the comfort, dining quality, and accommodate different party sizes for their customers.
Very good experience. The food was good, the staff were great, what more could you ask for? I got the filet mignon, and it was quite good. The Keg is definitely a chain restaurant, so don t expect a life changing experience, but it s certainly worth the money and you won t be disappointed.
Great food but took a very long time to get. Was a busy night though so I understand but maybe offer some more bread or something. Server didn t come to check on us very often.
2nd time at this location and, again, was not disappointed. Both the service and food were great. As to atmosphere, you make your own so I guess that rating is on us. Seems it may become a regular venue for our family outings.
The best Keg location in Ottawa. Consistently high quality food with fair portions and generally good service. Worth the extra drive compared to their other locations. Dietary restrictions: Keto friendly options
Over the last year this restaurant has disappointed me more than not. Last evening I ordered blackened chicken with shrimp and scallop Oscar. I didnt receive my Bernese sauce with my shrimp and scallop Oscar or my garlic butter and hot honey on my chicken. How do these things get forgotten when its clearly written in the menu??? When told, my server corrected as best she could but didnt offer to have anything adjusted to my bill or offer me a complimentary dessert. I had to ask for the manager. I am frankly very disappointed with eating out these days.
The Keg has become my go to place for a steak dinner. Food is great. Service is friendly Atmosphere is really nice. Vegetarian options: Beets and green beans Kid-friendliness: All the staff is helpful and friendly.
The food was excellent- Brian our server was wonderful. The restaurant atmosphere was fantastic! We will be back! Vegetarian options: Lots of options . Parking: Lots of free parking
My girlfriend & I enjoyed a wonderful Christmas lunch today. Our annual tradition. Everything was perfect as usual.
When first arriving it was really busy, once we got to the front desk even tho we had reservation for 7:15 we were let to wait almost 20 minutes to be seated to our table. We had passed 2 other tables that were clean and ready to go but we were brought to our table there wasnt enough chairs and had to wait again which left us irritated because of the organization. The food however was superb and everything was so tasty and made to perfection. The prices were a bit higher in price minimum $65 - 75 per person without drinks. The restaurant has beautiful upgrades and had a more luxury feel to it, the restaurant was packed. Overall it was 3/5 for service and for food and atmosphere were 5/5.
It was great! Server Vanessa was just delightful It was my first time Thanks for popping my Food : 5/5 |
Food was excellent, service was good, I would go back.
We were very impressed with the food, service and atmosphere at the Keg. Our waiter Dan, made the evening a very pleasant experience. He was attentive, answered all of our questions and provided us with great suggestions. Our food was delicious! We will be returning to the Keg. Food : 5/5
Flying solo and was in the mood for a good steak. I started with the tuna tartar that was a meal on its own.. very well made and enjoyable . Followed the waitresses recommendation for the entree and went with the prime rib. Was served exactly as I asked for and can say I was not disappointed. Great meal at a good price Kid-friendliness: Good and bad.. my waitress was excellent however many walked by and clearly noticed that my meal was finished but chose not to interact. Overall very happy
The Keg is one of my favorite chains. Ive been going for 24+ years. The last two visits to this location were not cool. The food is the usual quality, but the service is not where it should be. We went as two families with 4 adults and 5 kids. The waiters both times were not attentive and we felt we were being treated differently because we had kids. They pushed alcohol way too much and were nowhere to be found when we needed them. I expect more when were paying $80 per person ( yes I am counting the kids too ).
A place to spend a pleasant time
When someone mentions in the notes its their 51st Birthday when they make their table reservation online & also when they come into the Keg itself and mention it at the reception, they should at least be offered by their server a bite of dessert or a birthday cappucino if there are diet restrictions, instead I was forgotten about. Wasnt sure if this was offered at the Keg because our server never mentioned anything at all- but saw the lady at the table next to us mention it was her birthday at the end of her supper and her server wished her a happy birthday and offered her a dessert. Thank you so much for forgetting my birthday after dropping $223 on dinner. Rest assured your server still got a full tip, but I was made to feel pretty insignificant. That was my actual bday celebration. Here is your promised google review. Upon leaving I did not want to spend any time waiting to speak with the manager as I wanted to leave as soon as possible after that. You shouldnt forget peoples birthdays.
The food, service and atmosphere was excellent. Will definitely go again
Sometimes, evry dish falls into place and hits a homerun. On our visit here, my wife and I experienced just that - a homerun. We had a truly satisfying shrimp cocktail, 2 exactly as ordered and melt-in-your-mouth filet migons (mine 10 oz, hers 6oz w/lobster tail), and a decadent sticky toffy pudding. All this yummy food was accompanied first by a prosecco and pinot grigio, then the steaks had a stunniingly good Caliornia Duckhorn cab sauv to enhance them. Our server (Laura or Laurie, sorry...) was a real gem. All this goodness did not come cheap at $354 all-in but man-o-man was it good!
Always a great meal. This location in particular has fantastic friendly staff.
Everything was good, just not as good as Hunt Club. The only disappointment was the Caesar salad which had shredded parmesan and just wasnt the usual great Caeser salad. Steak was overcooked so they comped my drink to compensate. A good four-stars, just needs some improvements to get up to the next level. I would go again if I was in the West End and wanted some Keg.
Pleasant atmosphere, friendly service. The horseradish was overly hot, not palatable at all. Our friend always brings her own from home to accompany her meal. We suggest perhaps two choices could be offered to customers...the usual hot one or a mild one. Let the diner choose!
It was one of the worst meals I have ever had. Ordered steak, lobster, and garlic mashed. Steak was burnt on the outside and tough, and I had made better at home. Tiniest lobster I have ever seen. And tough. Mashed had a skin on them and must have been sitting under a heat lamp for a while. Same with my spouses meal. We were so disappointed. Yes, we had a 50 dollar bottle of wine, but $240 for 2 meals, 2 apps, and 1 salad. And the mains were absolutely awful. No, I didnt complain while we were there. Im not into that. You shouldnt have to do that. Will never go back to this chain. Better steak at the Lumbertown Ale House in Arnprior. The staff was awesome. And no. They werent that busy.
It was a fantastic food experience I cant wait to come back again. The staff and service was amazing cocktails were great
Always the best quality food and service at the Keg!! So many great options on the menu. Garlic baked shrimp and the 10 oz Filet Minion is always my go to choice. Try the patio, its very nice and comfy as well.
My first impression at The Keg was definitely great, mainly due to Hailey being very sweet and charismatic
5 Star Service , Food
We had a fantastic date night at The Keg, and our server Jackie made it even better. Her friendly, attentive service and professionalism truly enhanced our experience. Highly recommend
Excellent meal and service
We have always loved the Keg unfortunately on this visit there was a foreign object (black rubber/plastic) piece in our Brie with cranberry appetizer. My son actually bit into it and could have swallowed it fortunately he did not. The staff took the appetizer off the bill and apologized however honestly they should have comp d his meal that was brutal for a high end restaurant. I understand this type of thing happens but it is how the restaurant deals with it that is important. The manager came to our table and said that they went through everything in the kitchen the piece would not have come from the kitchen that it must have been in the cranberries from the manufacturer. The rest of our meal was good however this was a concern.
Great service, excellent food.
Dietary restrictions: Very good dealing with allergies. No worries at all. Food
Wait staff were very attentive. Food arrived promptly. We were greeted with a Happy anniversary and made to feel special.
Simply the best! Food and service were both amazing!
First time eating at the Keg. The steak was delicious. Loved the appetizers. They were accommodating, and the staff was friendly. Didnt have to wait too long for our meal.
Stellar dinner last night. Top sirloin was perfectly done.
We ordered the teriyaki sirloin Medium rare it was cooked well done bordering on burnt. The kitchen remade the steak and it came out well done the second time as well. At this point our elderly family members were done eating and we didn t have time to wait for another steak. The manager did give us two free glasses of wine and a gift for less than the steaks value. We were then required to pay for the burnt steak that we did not eat. This used to be our favourite place now it s on our no-go list.
I was nervous to bring my two young children for my birthday dinner but our waitress was amazing, the food was quick and delicious. Grace was on top of every little detail and the meal went smoothly and was very pleasant. Love this location for adult only meals but it was wonderful for kiddos as well! Kid-friendliness: We went early with our two young children for a birthday dinner and the waitress Grace was fantastic. She got the kid s food quickly and was on top of everything. She made us all feel welcomed.
Awful...we got there at 6pm...promptly seated. It went down hill from there. Waited 10 minutes for a server, and when G**e showed up...it went even further down hill. He took our order, and brought our drinks. My husband ordered a coffee, but he brought it with no spoon. He had to ask for a spoon...he brought a spoon that was shorter than the mug...Guess G**e is not a coffee drinker. We got our appetizer and it was fine. Not outstanding...it was okay. Then we waited...and waited...and waited. Finally, the server came by and we asked where the bread was...he replied...oh did I not ask you? seriously? this guy is in the wrong profession. He brought the bread and then the main course came. I ordered a whole lobster ($74) It was so dry and burnt that the shell was black! I sent it back and asked them to take it off the bill. The manager came over and nobody disputed that they brought me a dry and burnt lobster...they offered to bring me another one. I have already waited 45 minutes for dinner...dealing with a server who probably couldnt even serve himself on a good day. We were out of there. We left no tip (first time) - They should be ashamed...I have had better meals at McDonalds. I am angry that they brought me a burned and dry lobster and tried to pass it off as a meal...the waiter should have known better, but I am really not surprised, considering he didnt know enough to bring bread to the table, and didnt know enough to advise me that the Lobster does come with a choice of side, which was not offered to me. If that kitchen didnt know what they were sending to the table was dried out and burnt, then this establishment has huge problems. This may speak volumes about why the restaurant was half empty on a Friday at 6 pm. I have gone to the Keg for the last time. There are better options in Ottawa....Rosebowl, Mati, etc...
Always five star
We had an amazing experience at the Keg. We had a reservation and were promptly seated. The server Mary-Catherine was phenomenal! The 1/2 lobster and steak dinners were the best we have ever had! Our compliments to the chef!
Always a great meal at the Keg. The prime rib is excellent... and pairs nicely with a spicy ceasar!
Brought my husband and two kids here for his birthday dinner. We arrived at 5pm so the restaurant was not full, maybe 4-5 tables seated. We were promptly seated in the dining area which unfortunately smelled like a porta potty. Took my kids to the bathroom and it smelled even worse. When we returned to our seats our server took our drink orders and left. About 10 min later she returned with our drinks (one glass of wine and beer, not sure why it took so long) and took our food orders. The service was a bit slow considering there were hardly any customers but a lot of staff. I ordered the lobster roll and was extremely disappointed. I didn t know you could make lobster taste like nothing but somehow they were able to. Coupled with the stale roll it was served in, and the size I felt extremely ripped off. My husband s steak was overcooked, however my kids were fine (all asked for medium rare) which was also confusing to me considering they ordered the exact same cut and cook. This is the second time I have been at this Keg location and been disappointed. I will not be returning.
Excellent service!!!
For the price ($47) the main course I found the food very mediocre unfortunately. I ordered sirloin Oscar and the steak was chewy and seafood overcooked. The biggest complaint was the ladies washroom had an overpowering sewage smell We had a gift certificate to use up but probably won t go back at least not at that location in Stittsville.
Great atmosphere, convenient location, very nice patio, great service. As for food definitely maintains the kegs standards. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible
Great meal and service but a little too pricy. Add tip & tax 3 people $325.00.
The food and service were outstanding during our meal. We left two gift cards on the bill that covered the meal and a generous tip. We arrived with a reservation and they had our phone number. While driving home we received a call that we had not paid. We explained our payment method and returned to the location. We were told the busboy saw one gift card and thought it had been used so he threw it in the garbage. He then looked in the trash and found one card. For some reason the staff refused to believe we had left two cards, one on top of the other and no attempt was made to find the second card. We ended up paying the extra but on reflection really feel the staff made the errors and embarrassed my wife and I unfairly. We will not be returning.
Very nice atmosphere. Waitress was very kind and easily accommodated oir requests. Dietary restrictions: Willing to accommodate the requested changes to the vegetables
The sides where decent but the steak was bad..under cooked and chewy..definitely wasnt a quality steak.. 160$ and left hungry
Perfect every time.
Good food, good service, good times. Dining room is a bit dark, but otherwise a consistent place to eat
Food was great, its expensive but thats the keg. Our server was great as well. The only thing we disliked was the lack of full booths. They only have half booths where one side is the bench and the other is an open chair, so you feel a bit exposed. Other than that I would recommend it. Their vegetables tasted amazing and the salmon was perfect.
We had a wonderful meal to celebrate a two year anniversary of my husband giving his sister a kidney. The Keg is my husband s favourite place to eat. Our waitress Mary was amazing, polite, professional and very friendly.
Nice restaurant and great service. The steak and lobster we ordered was cooked as requested.
Top notch meat and taste. Such a treat and the sauce with the filet mignon is outstanding.
My husband and I had an amazing night out June 20th 2024. The service was above and beyond exceptional. The food was served fast and cooked perfectly. I would recommend this place to anyone. Amazing work guys. Thanks Katie Food
The bar tender very nice happy cheerful we had a great time ,looks like it will be our new hang out sunday afternoons.
Food was decent. Would rate higher except that when it came time for paying our cheques, the server decided for us that the POS (point of sale) machine should only give us the option to tip based on a percentage. She took the liberty of bypassing the tip amount option. Multiple people at our table had to ask the server to allow for the tip amount function which meant she had to go back a number of steps to allow that. The reason this is unethical is that the server is trying to force customers to tip based on percentage which people may feel cornered into - which typically results in more tip. The tip percentage feature is including the sales TAX and you end up tipping more and tipping on the tax you are paying. As a past server of high-end restaurants, I know that tipping is based on the subtotal, and not the after-tax total. So, it seemed very sneaky for her to be bypassing some options FOR CUSTOMERS on the POS machine. I have never seen a server do this and I highly suggest that management speak with the wait staff to discourage this unethical behaviour. Let customers have their rightful control on the money they are CHOOSING to tip.
Good food, good atmosphere, good service! A++
Best primrib in Ottawa!
Excellent steak before seeing a concert at CT Centre. Jaclyn was fabulous. Will definitely have dinner there again next time I am in the area.
Delicious food, exceptional cocktails and wine, the service was fabulous. The Keg and its staff, from the kitchen & bar to the table, delivered a wonderful evening.
Prime rib is amazing
This keg is hands down the best keg in Ottawa I went for a birthday dinner and the staff was so quick . The bartender with the chain is always great. This location has no idea how to make a bad steak .flawless every single time. Thank you for a great birthday dinner bar side. Yours truly the guy that drinks bud bottles.
Really good quality meats, great atmosphere, perfect service.
Had great service tonight. Mary did an awesome job!!! Food
Ordered medium rare prime rib got a blood red piece of beef that had lot of gristle had to spit into my plate called for manager he took my plate away return with a classic prime rib not as good as I have had before but better then first piece of beef I had. I had a hard time trying to explain a prime rib roast should look like seared brown on outside red on inside. first time in many visits to keg restaurants across Ontario that I had not received a signature prime rib that the keg is known for
To be 100% honest to get me back into a Keg restaurant they would have to do much better than they did yesterday. The food prep was not good at all. The $67 filet I ordered (the other was $58) was to be medium rare it was more like medium well. Looking at the grill marks on the steak I would guess they are broiling them not grilling which is not good. I have no idea how anyone messes up a baked potato but somehow the kitchen was able to produce the franken-potato that tasted like it had been quadruple baked a week ago. It also had some kind of chemical after taste as if it had been microwaved in a plastic container that still lingered the day after and I made me feel ill before going to bed. The vegetables served with the meal had the same horrible chemical taste. When we were seated the hostess asked why we were dining out and asked if it was an occasion. When my wife said it was our 53rd anniversary she congratulated us and said there would be a complimentary dessert. The dessert never materialized nor was it ever offered to go. Quite frankly, I am almost relieved they didnt bring the dessert because who knows what kind of mess they would have made of it. Basically, what I had was arguably the worst steak dinner I have had in my life due to poor food prep and very mediocre and disconnected service. We paid almost $200 for a terrible dinner. I have dined in some very good steak houses (Ruths Chris, Flemings, Mortons, Three Forks) and they were all good but this is not in the same class, not even close. I could have purchased an entire beef tenderloin at Costco and created 16 filet mignons for less than $200, grilled them myself on a BBQ properly and produced 1000% better results. Who cant cook a potato and do vegetable prep? An unskilled moron thats who. If these people really want to do themselves a huge solid they would find the person in charge of the kitchen and fire them immediately if not sooner. People who pay $200 for an anniversary dinner do not want this at all.
We had a reservation at 7:00 pm booked a week out and got to the restaurant ten minutes before. We were with my elderly parents and checked in with the hostess who said they were just cleaning off a table. Fifteen minutes later we checked in again and another hostess said they were now trying to FIND us a table. All this while many other guests coming in after us were being seated. Id understand if we were a walk-in, but we had a reso. Finally close to 7:30 after asking what appeared to be a manager, we finally sat down. The hostess who kept rolling her eyes then proceeded to slam the menus down on the table and walk away. I was really surprised as I regularly go to many different Keg locations and have never been shocked by the service. Our server definitely made up for it, as she was super lovely and saved the night for us. Ive worked in the restaurant industry for many years, so I try to be more understanding but I couldnt believe how the hostesses handled that situation, not to mention the attitude and not even close to a Im sorry for the wait. The front of house staff at this location definitely need a brush up on their customer service.
Id give it 6 stars if I could
Over rated tbh.. ambience is great but thats where it ends.. I did not try the steaks but rest of the food was ok types
It was good but they didn t have steak knives available therefore making us use horrible not sharpen knives it was very difficult food was amazing tho
I always eat way too much when I go there
Everything is delicious, not just the steak!
It was a wonderful time in every way!
Grest food & atmosphere. But pricey $$
My boyfriend and I went the day after Valentines Day, and we were very pleased. The waitress was super sweet, attentive, and respectful. The sourdough bread is always a hit with us for sure, haha. I got the blackened chicken, and it was amazing! It was a nice sized portion of chicken, juicy, and well seasoned. My boyfriend got the 12 oz New York striploin, and it was also cooked and seasoned perfectly. We both got the twice baked potatoes, and we agree that they are some of the best weve ever had! We will be back.
A great place to have dinner. The restaurant is beautiful.
Overall, it was a great experience! Only negative, for me, was way too much dressing on the Caesar salad...I just couldnt finish mine. The steak was perfection!
All good overall experience. This place is the go to for assured great service Billy Miner Pie is a winner!
Date night for the first time in a long time. We had a wonderful evening, staff were very attentive with a friendly demeanour. Allergies were strong indoors as I think the carpet kept a lot of dust. Just something that happens this time of year anywhere you would go I imagine.
Very disappointed ,, this was my go to restaurant for a great steak,, now it s my No-Go restaurant. I was experiencing the same issues with the food quality just before Covid,, I order either Prime Rib or a Rib steak,, I stopped ordering Prime Rib a while back because there was always Grissle in the meat,, unless you are willing to sit in a nice restaurant and using your fingers to nibble the meat off the grissle, it s ok,, but I go to the Keg for the experience,, so no finger foods. So I stick with my favourite steak,, the Rib Steak. And last night the first cut into Steak I could feel the knife cutting though grissle,, i only ate half the steak and brought the rest home for a breakfast, but i left about 20% of what did cut up on the plate due to grissle. My wife had the Fillet Mignon and it was fine as far as quality goes. My Rib Steak was ordered medium rare and was over cooked a little, it was still pink but not by much. My wife s Fillet Mignon was ordered medium rare and came rare,, we were both ok with what we were given because we wanted to eat,, The service was one of the worst experiences. Our server talked to us like she was trying to sell us a used car. We requested regular butter because we weren t sure about the cheese butter,, only one container of cheese butter came with the bread,, we had to ask again for the regular butter. (edit) I found out after I wrote this review that when I had asked for the butter we requested earlier that the waitress rolled her eyes as she turned around to leave. My wife ordered wine and requested it be served with dinner, we were half way through eating when the wine came to the table. The excuse was the bar was backed up,, didn t believe it then and don t believe it now. It got to the point we were talking about making sure we didn t get charged for it. We requested to-go containers and that was the quickest service we received,, but she spun on her heals and left before we could ask for a desert menu,, we thought she would of asked us. After what seems like forever she came back to the table then we asked for a menu,, the wait was so long we just gave up and asked for the bill This is not what I expect when I go to an upscale Steak House. It has Road House written all over it. Meat quality is not there,, I can buy better quality at a Butcher. I don t think it s triple A grade (AAA). It was an anniversary dinner,, we were looking to just sit down and enjoy a nice dinner. We are now going to focus on other establishments.
Great birthday dinner with family. Food was great , service friendly and prompt. Over all a great evening right down to the Billy Miner pie for my birthday compliments of the Keg
Ive ate here many times on this visit I chose the New York peppercorn steak I found it had more then what was needed peppercorns on the steak was pretty . I will switch back to my usual steak next visit , just beware that there is alot of seasoning on that selection
Awesome food , fantastic service. Love it . Thank you. Food : 5/5
I was there on March 7th for dinner. I have travelled worldwide and always track down some of the leading steakhouses when I do. The Softball steak cooked Chicago style is my go to and have to say it is second to none.. My beef, pardon the pun, is the broccoli and in occasion the lettuce for the wedge salad had a little browning on it. I spent over $300, for 3 adults which is enough, YOU should never serve a meal at that cost with sub standard greens. It is just not appropriate!
The food was perfect! Out sever Mary was the best and made our night out even better.
I got the steak burnt at first, when I complained they replaced my plate and got me a whole new steak that was way better. They also gave me a free dessert. At first i was disappointed but they handled the situation really well. Note: the photo of the empty plate is for my friend. He dived straight into it
It can get expensive, but its worth it. Steak is always yummy and you must have the three cheese butter.
Always an exceptional experience! Courteous service and excellent food. Keep up the good work!
What a wonderful experience! They make you feel welcomed. The ambience, the venue and the food were amazing. The experience is magnificent. The greeters, the server. All on point. This was our first visit and not the last visit for sure. The price is adequate because you dont pay just for the food but you get the added value for the service. I had the teriyaki sirloin with a huge baked potato as a side. I asked to be well done and the server warned me that the sugars on the sauce would caramelize the outside. I appreciated the fact that she cared telling me in advance. My daughter had the blakened chicken, it is oven roasted, confit garlic butter, hot honey, garlic mashed potato, seasonal vegetables, she enjoyed it for sure. In addition to the chicken, she had the Mushrooms Neptune, they are mushroom caps, crab, cream cheese...very tasty for sure. My wife had a similar meal than mine, she ordered an extra side of fries and her side was a fresh salad. 5 stars for sure....
This was my second day in a row going to a Keg. Had my work Christmas gathering at the hunt club location and the service and food was exceptional !! The following day, I brought my partner to the Kanata location and we were blow away with our server, Alicia. Not only did she know her menu and was able to recommend well, from the get go she had a lovely smile with an easy going, fantastic enthusiasm. She made our experience 10x more enjoyable thank you! Food is always delish, good job to the chefs !! That baked garlic shrimp is to die for! My partner got the Kansas City NY, I got the pistachio crusted salmon, wonderful and well done! Would only recommend for more salmon/ fish options.
We ordered take out. The online experience was fine - user friendly and quick. Greeting was good - staff very friendly and efficient. The visual ambiance is nice. Comfortable and warm but killed by the Top 40 playing too loud in the background. The food was, to be fair, a complete let down. Burger was burnt, fries cooked almost to dehydration; Prime rib - 50% fat and not small veins. We re talking inch thick, running from one end to the other; Steak was tough, scallops over cooked. End result - 3 beyond disappointed diners and $150 down the tubes. Don t recommend
Waited 1 hour hostess wrote my phone number down wrong and stated that she called my name which is Tammie not common 3 times even though I and my husband were 3 feet away from them. They messed up and instead for apologizing and correcting the error which is perfectly fine. They lie and do nothing. Thanks for wasting our time. Oh had a gift card too guess we will never use it. Jan 27 2024 went to Jack Aster had a great time.
Guarantee of great service and yummy food.
We were 5 people. We didn t enjoy our steaks they were tough and sinewy. I could not eat about half of it. Also, the little pot of jus it was served with was thick and tasted like cornstarch. It tasted like it came from a mix. I didn t appreciate the broccoli or cold beets either. I was was very disappointed. I won t go back. Gisèle Wolfe
Amazing food, friendly staff. Our server Gabrielle was amazing & attentive, food was amazing & arrived at the perfect time. Highly recommended date night. Cant wait to go back
Went for birthday dinner with the family. Food was amazing and each course was delivered promptly without feeling rushed. Our waitress Mary was fantastic and made us feel so welcome and looked after. Thanks for helping us celebrate!
Food was fantastic. Server was efficient yet personable. It took a while to get a reserved table in the first place though. I dont like thumping music in the background. Its hard enough to converse without it.
Waited for almost an hour for my pickup order. Everything needs a manager to do. Ordering food for pickup needs a manager to take the order, checking on my order once at the restaurant needs a manager, and when I asked where my order was coz Ive been waiting for almost an hour, she went to check with the manager. Sounds more like a babysitting operation
Had a pleasant meal with my partner on a Sunday night. Made a reservation for 7:45 and waited less than 5 minutes after arrival. The restaurant is well designed and stylish as expected. Staff was friendly and helpful, offered recommendations and service without being overbearing. Food was delicious, we both ordered the fillet mignon, one with blue cheese crust, one without. Both were cooked perfectly and the flavors perfect. All additions to the steaks, garlic, beets, fries, rice were amazing as well. Price was high, to be expected. Approx $55-62 for each meal. Considering the price of a fillet from a grocery store the price was very reasonable and I Would gladly pay it again considering all the additions that made the meal. Special thanks to our server Alisha who made the experience all that much better.
My first keg experience. Had the baseball steak cooked rare and twice baked potato. Food cooked to perfection. Staff was amazing. Could use more beer options Food : 5/5
Absolutely worst customer service experience in a restaurant that I have ever had. The hostesses appeared to have given away our reservations to another couple who just walked in. We waited for another 30 minutes past our reservation time when one of the hostesses walked up to us after what seems to be realizing their mistake, asking us Whats your name again? and then immediately seating us. Upon seating us, our waiter came and asked us what drinks or wine we would be interested in. As I was perusing the wine menu, I casually mentioned that I was looking for a wine to pair with prime rib, which we had been planning to have for dinner. It was at this point that we were informed that they had run out of prime rib 10 minutes prior. I began to wonder if the people that they had inadvertently given our reservations to by mistake were able to order the prime rib. We were given the option to select another item from the menu. Incredibly disappointed, I pulled out my cell phone and made immediate reservations for another competitor restaurant where we could get the prime rib that we were planning on having for dinner. We then got up and left. This restaurant is the epitome of horrible service. Completely ruined our Valentines plans for the evening. If I could enter zero stars for the disappointing evening I most certainly would.
It was expensive $300 fir my wife and 11 year old.
Amazing service, food and ambiance! The precision of their accomodation for my allergies and dietary restrictions was five-star!
We went there for my sons 18 birthday. 5 of us and everything was perfect for each of us. From the time I booked the reservation to the moment we were done and walked out. Food
Great spot
Excellent place to dine, food was top shelf as was the service!
So lets start with the service which we got from the Lebanese girl forget her name but she was nice. The food was nice but not as what I thought but the drinks is top 10 for sure. Maybe I didnt like the food cuz Im not a fan for seafood but I will try something else next time.
Service and food are always great at the Keg in Stittsville/Kanata. Last couple of times Amanda and Harmony were our servers and both were excellent. Vegetarian options: A couple of vegan options on the menu are available. Kid-friendliness: Theres a great kid menu. They bring a kids platter before anything comes to the table, which is very welcome to entertain hungry kids before any meal comes in (orange slices, celery, carrots, cucumbers, ranch, crackers).
The evening started watching 3-4 hostesses doing the job of one. It was quite funny to watch. They are incredibly overstaffed, there are servers and bus boys zooming around everywhere. Im pretty sure our server had only 2 tables. And the service was not phenomenal. We waited. And waited, and waited some more. This place is much too busy for the quality of the food. The best part of the whole experience was the bread and butter. Oh it was delicious, and will be added to my recipe book. And the bread comes steaming hot. Couldnt be happier with the bread. But this is a steak house, so lets get to the meat and potatoes of the conversation. My overcooked and charred medium steak was leaning on the well done spectrum, while my companions medium rare was almost blue. Hi , Im a meat thermometer, and when you want to make a perfect steak with untrained staff Im available at a low price. And turn down the grill if your burning and charging a medium steak. Literally the easiest steak to make. This is supposed to be a fancy steak house right? Thats why your prices are about 15-25% above market? Then cook the steak 100% right, get one of the 4 monkeys looking at reservations and giggling cleaning your spotty glasses and train your servers to bring a glass of water when they come to give you menu. Probably wont be back, longstar is across the street go there for some meat at a slightly fairer price (although you may have to suffer a plaid slightly scratchier napkin)
I come to this restaurant fairly frequently (it s my favourite) but tonight the service was not great. The server was much more interested in the table next to us (I think she thought they were going to tip more?), we d ask for refills and she would forget, she offered us more bread and then forgot, and one of us was celebrating a birthday, but didn t get the birthday desert because she forgot. We would be trying to order something and she would be distracted by the other table, and we had to wait a long time to even get our initial water glasses filled. At the end of the night she read the bill out loud, so the birthday guest obviously ended up knowing the cost of their dinner. There was no discretion. Very disappointing for a $300+ meal, and not the usual standard I am used to from the keg.
Very good Chicago style butter seared steak
Fantastic Blue Cheese Steak! Also the Midnight Manhattan!
My go to place for rib roast done to perfection. Service was amazing and timing was bang on. My mouth is actually watering as I write this review. Well done
Great service and good food!
Prices? Are you well? Your average steak is $50. Obviously we have far too many grossly overpaid and underworked Public Servants that can afford this and they are all living on my tax dollar.
Not what it used to be. Meat was improperly cooked and very tough. Server never came around to check in. Drinks not refilled. Not sure what justifies the price anymore.
Amazing!!!
Great experience as always here, we literally walked in on a friday evening with no reso and were seated immediately. We got drinks ordered and had a great experience. Parking: Lots of parking but when it is busy its busy and space is limited.
Always a perfectly cooked steak. Great date night!
Our server Marcos was outstanding and very friendly! The steaks were delicious and had a great taste! I highly recommend this steakhouse!
Been here three times (twice due to invitations) and had different cut of steaks dishes. Every time it s improperly cooked, not just mine but also the companies- raw in the middle or severely overcooked. Love the other two locations in town, this one, won t visit again if it s up to me.
We love The Keg. My husband and I used to go to the Hunt Club location before this one opened and were so glad theres a Keg in the West end. We also prefer this location over Hunt Club - atmosphere is pretty much the same but lighting is better. We never had a bad experience except for once, and even then, it was handled very well when we provided feedback to the general manager. PS. Billie Miner Pie is a must! Parking: Approximately 50 free parking spaces Kid-friendliness: Lots of options for kids
Our calamari was delivered to the table with half of the it in a large clump on the plate. Pulling apart the clump revealed gross undercooked squid and mushy batter which was really unpleasant. Our wings and cocktails were good but the large clump of calamari was left on the plate. Our waitress commented on the clump but did nothing to correct the situation which made us feel awkward and uncomfortable addressing the issue. Additionally, we sat in the bar and felt like we were intruding on the staffs space as they were gathered at the corner of the service counter chatting loudly about how they didnt want to be at work. We visit The Keg whenever we can and this location felt like it was over staffed, under performing and inconvenienced by our presence. Really disappointing.
Great food and great atmosphere!
Excellent meal and excellent service.
I usually love the prime rib here, but tonight was an off night, because although the steak was tender, it tasted bland, even after dipping it in the au jus. I was still able to finish my meal anyway, with the help of the garlic mashed potatoes which was really good. The service is always impeccable, friendly, courteous, and professional. We also didnt have to wait too long after ordering to receive our plates.
The new Shrimp app. Is fantastic!!!
Dinner last night was excellent and so was the service. Dining out has become expensive and you need to feel its worth it. DEFINITELY worth it.tipping is easy when the crew does a great job
This was our first visit to this location, which was on the occasion of my sister and her husband visit. Overall, the experience was great, otherwise pricy. We had a great server and the ambience was cosy and intimate. I may return for a special occasion. Food
The worst experience I have ever had, surely I will never go back . It was on Friday night even though we had a reservation , we waited for the table for 1hour and half maybe longer. I wished I had left. The steak it was horrible, I asked for no pork on the plate and still my plate had pork. I did mention to the waitress and it seems she didn t care , this location felt like it was over staffed, under performing. I did left hungry after all , awful place and service.
Food and service were excellent
Steak was so tough couldnt even cut through it... Very inconsistent every visit.
I went to the Keg for my 60th Birthday celebration only to find out they dont have their staple meal...the prime Rib. The place was cold and not the regular feel of the Keg. This Keg is not of the same standards of quality or service as i am used to. I had the $62 Rib steak, Chicago medium well but it was not like the one i had before this one seemed dry with barely warm mashed potatoes. Dissapointed, will not return to this location.
Food was amazing and the staff were fantastic.
Wonderful server and meal.
Great steak and service.!!
Ordered for takeout and when I got home, I found one item was missing. The manager was a class act. Refunded for the item, remade the item and complementary dessert. I ve never had a problem with this location and that still remains true. They obviously care deeply about their customers.
nice staff. Food is very average, Okay ambience.
We ve dined at this location several times in the past and honestly, last evening will probably be our last. We ordered the 10oz prime rib dinner x 2 and received the most embarrassingly thin (1/3 ) piece of meat. Seriously a thicker yet smaller and more presentable piece of meat. At $42.99 this piece of meat was thin and tasteless. It s a shame as we ve enjoyed this location in the past, but if this is any indication of their quality control, we ll be fine dining elsewhere.
Everything was great.
Everything here was excellent! Food, service, and atmosphere were all amazing! We were a group of 5, and every single plate that came out looked great! Everyone said everything was delicious! Highly recommend!
Another fantastic dinner at The Keg Stittsville! The food, service and atmosphere never disappoint. While we have been many times before, this was the first time visiting while on a diet. We appreciated that every menu item clearly identified calorie data. It s a small thing but it was important to us. A shout out to Taylor and Allison for taking such good care of us during our visit. Cheers Keg Stittsville!
I giving this location 4 starts overall. Our food was great. Drinks as well. This is the best version of the keg in Ottawa. The server did her best. The place was busy but we were there for a good night. Keep the drinks coming, and the bill would have grown another 200$. The table. There were 3 of us, 4 planned. We sat at a booth just big enough for 2 people. It was not comfortable. Finally, turn the lights down. This is a steakhouse, not a boston pizza. So, the food was that good. Kudos to the cooks. Cheers to the service. Room for improvement on the atmosphere and seats.
Food and service was good! Appreciate that they have vegan options, and found the veggie meatloaf really tasty and filling.
Excellent roast beef. Attentive waitress. Nice ambiance. Worth a visit.
