We left a hat and a bottle of lacteeze pills behind but we were able to recover it quickly the next day. I wish I could say this for all businesses, but far too often, things left behind arent found. The food and service was great. A bit too expensive for me, but with a heavier wallet, Id come here more often.

Made reservations still had to wait on bench , bar was full yet others after us were brought to bar to wait.. brought to table later than reservation only to discover it was basically in bar area, very loud! Ordered cocktails had to wave service down to place wine order. Food was hot and did come quickly

It is the first time that I visited this restaurant and its top quality dishes, but the waiter suggested the New York cut accompanied by Caesar salad without any cost in the second time, the New York main dish with sautéed vegetables My family orders salmon. The keg It is one of my favourite restaurants to go to consistently great food I have been To the keg all across Ontario probably close to 500 times in the last 20 years I never have to even look at the menu. I always know what I want. Unfortunately, this is the worst keg experience I have encountered First off when you walk up to the door, they took all the patio furniture away, and the blinds are all closed and the lights are dim. You don t even know if it s open. We had a test the doors to see if it was open We Made a reservation with a booth seat for 5 PM When we got there at 5 PM, there was Hardly anyone in the restaurant The hostess said she didn t know if she could get us a booth seat even though we reserved one. I looked around the restaurant and I could see 30 booth seats open. She called another lady over and they went over the seating arrangement for 2 to 3 minutes finally, I said just give us A seat somewhere The waitress was pleasant and attentive As for the food, here s where it went downhill They brought us the appetizers and no plates to eat it with, Also, they never give enough time between the appetizer and the main course the time I finished the last bite of the appetizer another meal was there My son had the 10 ounce prime rib with garlic mashed It came without the mashed potatoes, Honest mistake, but usually they would come and take your plate back and put the potatoes on it They just came with a small side dish with cold mashed potatoes I ordered the 14 ounce prime rib And there was at least 6 ounces of fat on it. ( I understand prime rib has fat, but not Almost half of it) Me and my wife also had a twice baked potato Which was burnt and the inside was cold I couldn t believe it. I cut it in half and the inside was cold . It was probably pre cooked and stored in the fridge and they just reheated it in a boiler. When I complained to the waitress, she had the manager come over who was very unpleasant It s odd that she would be the manager with that personality She really wouldn t do much which is fine. I m not here to get free food. I just want food that s cooked properly a 200. Dollar Dinner for my son s birthday should be a better quality considering the place I went to Unfortunately, we have to mark this keg off of our list of food places, and hopefully people that read my review will do the same

Wow! I had been to the keg years ago in a different location, and didn t remember it being THIS AMAZING!! The food was delicious. The steak was so hot!! Like temperature hot! I had never had such a warm meal the whole way through. I will say the Gruyère dip was slightly underwhelming but everything else made up for it! The sangria was phenomenal and I could have had 26 espresso martinis if humanly possible. Our waiter was a man named Nick and he was excellent. It was our anniversary so her brought us a complimentary dessert and it was absolutely amazing. Anyways - GO!

All I can say is WOW! From the moment we were seated, the service was nothing short of outstanding. Our server, Yesel, and his manager went above and beyond to accommodate my family s specific dietary requirements, including ensuring everything was safe for Celiac needs. Their attentiveness and care truly impressed us, making the entire experience stress-free and enjoyable. It s rare to find a restaurant where both the service and the food shine equally, but The Keg delivered on both fronts. The food was absolutely amazing perfectly cooked and flavorful, with options that satisfied everyone at the table. The effort they put into making us feel welcomed and cared for was remarkable. We left with full hearts (and stomachs) and will absolutely be returning. I would 100% recommend The Keg to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience. Five stars all the way!

The food was absolutely amazing. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly, and all around great. Someone in our party had an unusual allergy. The manager came over, explained what sides could be made with the allergen, and went above and beyond to ensure that their was no cross contamination. That meal came out by itself from an additional server to ensure it never came into contact with the allergen. All around amazing staff, very professional.

We had a table for two and were brought to the table after a short wait. The food was good and the service from our waitress Liv left nothing to be desired. Super fast, courteous and friendly! We will definitely come back on our next visit to Ottawa.

My group and I had a great time at dinner at the Market Keg. We were a group of 7 with no reservation, yet the hostesses assured us we would be able to sit in the lounge. With having no reservation on a busy night, our service was unmatched. Our server Gaaya took good care of us, and would check up on us often. The food quality was awesome and drinks were perfect. Would definitely return when I visit Ottawa again.

We had a very great stay and would come back. Liv took great care of us and always made sure that we didnt lack anything. When I wanted to clear a cocktail because I didnt like it, we werent charged the amount even though we didnt ask for it. That was absolutely not what we expected and very generous! The restaurant is also very popular, so its best to make a reservation. The store is overall very well organized. The only negative point: Unfortunately, I didnt like the fries at all because they were completely dry and hard, so you couldnt even spear them with a fork. In the end it was just a crisp, hard shell with no potato inside. My partner, however, enjoyed the fries.

I just have to say what a great experience my wife and I had last night. Food was great! My bourbon drink was made perfectly both times. Icing on the cake was our server! Can t remember his name but we were in a booth upstairs and we were on the list and got seated around 8 under the name Turner. Kudos to all involved that made our dining experience one of the best we ve had at Keg Market!!!

Food was very very average for the money. I d much rather get a good quality steak from Costco and cook it myself. Very disappointed with the experience. The service though was good, and the waiter was very knowledgeable on the menu.

We arrived around 9pm. Was about to leave since it looked busy and got the feeling that it wasnt really child friendly night. The hostess assured me that the bar area was child friendly. Sophia our server did an amazing job. I know it was busy night but everything was good. The only issue was the lack of flavor with my steak and green beans. But overall the experience was fantastic. Kid-friendliness: Not so much kid friendly at night. But what do you expect at 9pm

My wife and I visited the Keg on Sat Aug 31 2024 for our anniversary. We were served by Nick who did an extraordinary job. The whole experience for us was awesome. The food was top notch. The service was amazing. I even recognized a small situation with Nick our server that reminded us of the show the bear. Somehow Nick noticed I was having issues with the salt dispenser. I just put it aside and before I could look for him, he shows up at our table with another dispenser. Now that s top notch service in our books. Thanks Nick and all for making this a great experience for us.

Oliver, was the best! We were in town for my my mom s 70th birthday on a Monday night and had the most wholesome night. The prime rib and the filet were really delicious. Thanks again to Olivier for even, welcoming us in french!

Good filet mignon, mushroom & onions were good but a bit greasy, double baked potato was good. They need an option for a smaller Rib eye steak as they only have a 20oz available. The waiter was great Voices echoed from the left side of the restaurant, which was a bit annoying. Overall, its a bit on the pricey side, but we enjoyed our meal.

My kid was served food item he is allergic to and was violently ill. My kiddo has allergy to egg. Allergy discussed three times including when ordering ice cream ie I was sure to mention that ice cream sometimes has egg and asked if everything had been checked. Assured everything was checked with senior staff and it was just plain vanilla ice cream with no egg. He was provided with ice cream where a main ingredient was egg. I was told afterwards that reason was simply label was misread. See label I had to obtain myself to understand what happened- it has few ingredients, easy to read and clearly mentions egg twice including in allergens - pic attached. Impossible to miss!

Great experience tonight at The Keg thanks to our server Liv R. My boyfriend and I just celebrated our second anniversary and we picked The Keg because we can always be sure to have an excellent time at any of their locations. Liv was very sweet and attentive the entire time. It was a beautiful night in Ottawa so we enjoyed the patio. Steaks were divine as always but I also ordered a red sangria which was definitely the best sangria I have ever had. Cheers to the lovely bartender tonight!

We had reservations. We are a senior couple, we both have white hair and wrinkles. We were brought to the 2nd floor. This meant to wash our hands or go to the bathroom, we had to go up and down an older steep staircase, I would keep this in mind if you are older and request a table on the main floor. We were brought to a booth near a large group with 4 young kids. We requested a different table within 5 minutes. We watched as 5 different times, others did the same. Lol My carrots were very undercooked, filet mignon was perfect, and servings were large. Neither of us finished our food. I will not be returning. Overpriced for the atmosphere offered to us.

I had the prime rib and fries. The meat was a little over-done to my liking and the fries were standard. Wait staff was very nice. Although it s a chain, it didn t strike me as one.

Great place! Make sure to ask for bread and butter before the meal. (It s free!) Very tasty whipped garlic butter. I took the prime rib sandwich with the garlic mashed potatoes. Splendid meal, very tasty. Some of my friends took the filet mignon. Priced at 69$, I don t think it was totally worth it, but it was pretty good. I loved the atmosphere. Fancy, dim lighting. The waitress was very polite, very professional.

One of the best steak house restaurants. Its a sure value. Good value for money and impeccable service.

The food was amazing, plentiful and agreeably priced. They have a nice variety of steaks, and I can especially recommend the prime rib. The atmosphere inside was more on the formal end, while the outside was more casual. Although that might have been a coincidence. The steak I ordered initially was overcooked when I got it, but the staff immediately offered to replace it. The new steak was perfect, and they even took an appetiser off the bill as compensation. Next to the food itself, it was mainly the friendly staff that set the place apart. I can certainly recommend this place, and if I ever come back to Ottawa I will certainly give the Keg Stakehouse another visit.

Really lively atmosphere and I couldnt praise the staff more. They were really helpful, especially the guy who waited on us. Really nice and helpful. Food came very quickly as well! My steak was fantastic, some of the beat steak Ive ever had. I had the Sirloin, medium rare. The 4 stars is because my mother ordered her steak medium well and it came over done. As in, beyond well. Ofc we couldve sent it back, and Im sure they wouldve been happy to take it back, but when steak is your specialty... should kinda be able to get it right first time. All the other food was great! The bread they give you, the sides of the steak and the dessert. Highly recommended!

(Got scallop app takeout few wks back and they forgot the sauce. Huh?)

Pros: - like always, steak quality was good, but fries was overcooked, and my friend who ordered mid rare recove welldone. - clean and quiet Cons: - slow service, even order ice tea took 30 minutes to recive, and not because they are super busy, but because they do not care much about service in total. When we came to the restaurant at 10 pm, we were full 2 hours before we started eating. Definitely, stuff needs to be retrained.

I am heading out to the KEG in Kingston on June 10, 2024 due to his generous gift card. I went there for my sons 12th bday, I spoke to the manager. The food was horrid... They promised a voucher and poof.... no remorse for their brutal food.... double deep-fried fries.... non crispy macaroni... AWFUL.

Overpriced in any direction you wanna choose to go with. Food is mass produced that a monkey can warm up and cook and prices is like you are in Paris 6 starts Michelin chef while non from middle small town without enough knowledge of food safety is getting high and baking your food. Well be polite and pay good tips or you will be judged hardly you re poor and why are you out eating food anyway?

For $150, Id rather cook my own steak on a camp fire. We were in for our anniversary dinner. We had reservations. It took 25 minutes before our waitress came to introduce herself, by which point we were past wanting water & just ready to order. I had the 6oz Top Sirloin with the mushroom rice. The steak was . The rice, Uncle Ben does better! My partner had the 20oz Rib Steak with the twice baked potato. Only 10oz of the steak was edible, the rest was fat (see pic...partly chewed, fatty, just yuck). The potato seemed more like 8x baked...very dry! Disappointed overall

Service was very attentive but the food was subpar. The caesar salad was particularly bad. Very disappointed. We had a much better experience ordering the same dishes at their Toronto restaurant last time.

The Keg appears on the surface to be a classy steakhouse, however, once I stepped inside, the atmosphere was loud and never quieted down. I didnt have the steak, but one in our party had their specialty: prime rib. I tasted this, and it tasted underseasoned. The Buffalo Cauliflower was delicious, and the lime aioli hit the spot, and the cheese garlic bread was very nicely and properly seasoned. when my main came - a macaroni and cheese with chicken breast on top - that disappointed. The macaroni and cheese appeared to be 1/3 bread crumbs on top, and the entire dish seemed to have too little sauce to make a satisfying dish. Over all, our party found the restaurant too noisy (although it was a friday night) and we will not be returning again

Really a great experience at Keg! A nice welcome in a very clean restaurant. The waiter, Daniel, spoke French and was very kind. We received a tasty filet mignon and cooked to perfection, according to our tastes; the beans, carrots were al dente and hot as were the mushrooms. A salad, equally delicious, was served as a starter. We were served a generous portion of warm bread accompanied by whipped garlic butter. The meal was delicious. The manager also stopped at our table to collect our empty plates and inquired if everything was correct, and in French! The atmosphere is very good.

We had an absolutely wonderful dinner last night at the Keg! The steaks were delicious & cooked exactly as ordered. Certainly recommend the New York striploin & the filet mignon. And one of the 3 of us had the prime rib; it was exceptional. And the icing on the cake was exceptional service from our server, Natasha! She was friendly, attentive & helpful with one of our party who has dietary restrictions. We ll be back!

I have always enjoyed my dining experiences at keg in numerous locations. This was my first time trying the Ottawa downtown one and I was very disappointed with their service. Just comparing it to Hunt Club, Kanata & Richmond Hill, the service was below sub par and towards the end our server was rushing to get us off even when she could see I wasn t done eating and started asking if I needed a takeout box, also wanting to clear plates that still had food, etc. I immediately got put off and left. Not sure why she was doing so especially since the restaurant wasn t busy and it wasn t closing time. She did even offer bread for the table, I had to ask for it when our food arrived. Food wise, it was okay. I had way better NY peppercorn at other locations. Overall it was not a pleasant experience and I will not be returning to this location.

I ordered a teriyaki steak and an onion soup, it turned out the soup was reasonably good and the steak was very salty and I am quite disappointed with the quality control there for the price.

Very good steak restaurant in the center of the Canadian federal capital. Very good service and food.

Went to the Keg recently for date night and it was great. We hadn t been since 2019, so we weren t sure what to expect. We had a great waiter, Theo, and he was very attentive all night, as well as very friendly. We didn t feel rush, which is appreciated given the cost of this type of dinner. We slowly started the evening by grabbing a drink - they have a good cocktail selection, however, their types of gin were limited. Before the appetizer we got the warm bread service. Great way to start the evening and I really appreciated the special cheese and herb butter. We shared the scallops appetizer and it was very delicious. The scallops were cooked perfectly, but for the price it was a small portion. I then grabbed a wedge salad - just WOW! It was a nice big portion, the lettuce was crunchy and I had more blue cheese dressing and crumble than I could ve expected. I grabbed the sirloin with garlic mash potatoes, and I wasn t disappointed. The steak was a perfect medium and the potatoes were creamy. The veggies in the plate were not overcooked and was happily surprised the have roasted beets in my plate. My wife grabbed the baseball steak and it was cooked perfectly! It was tender, juicy and easy to cut. The fries were not great, however, they weren t crispy or salted enough. Would definitely come again for a date night!

Very very tasty, perfectly shaped and well-cooked meat. Good alcohol, there is a childrens menu. The interior is high-quality and cozy, it looks like a private gentlemans club. Went to the Keg for a date night and this place did not disappoint! We had a hard time finding a restaurant in Ottawa that had a complete allergen menu and this one had it. We also had a few questions to help us make up our minds on dish and the waiter was very helpful :) The service was great and the food was absolutely amazing (we had the scallops & bacon, the Keg Caesar salad as starters, and the blue cheese filet bacon wrapped & New York striploin). Would recommend ! Dietary restrictions: Had a full allergene menu which is rare in Ottawa!

Went there on a friday night. We did not have a reservation and had to wait 20 minutes for a table. The steaks were perfectly cooked. The server was nice. The drinks were good. Free parking nearby starting at 7h pm Food : 4/5

Steak was cooked a bit more than what I asked but it was tasty.

When you drive an hour and a half from home to come, make a reservation and then have the hostess say That reservation didnt go through me but its all good in the hood..wait 35 minutes I should have left. Server was great though, out of prime rib, crab cakes obviously a frozen disaster and how does a restaurant mess up mashed potatoes so badly? Used to be great..unfortunately now, lacking in quality.

First time here, we went here for date night....dinner was fabulous . I had the filet mignon, he had the top sirloin....yum yum. The atmosphere is so cozy. We didnt feel like we needed to rush, location was great.

Terrible service, the worst I have ever experienced at Keg, in fact it was so disappointing that I will be complaining to the GM and to the guest relation. Stay away from this branch.

Great atmosphere, service. Not sure that type of bread goes well with the gruyère, mushroom dip, just too sweet.

Food was average. Service was very good. The waiter was friendly.

2024 We get Christmas gift certificates from my mother so all the adult children and grandchildren can go out together and The Keg is where we go. Ten of us is hard to accomodate so its either an early dinner, this time at 5 pm on Saturday February 10, or late, like after 8 pm because we never call soon emough. BEWARE we got a ticket. Parking is always rough downtown. Good thing we had a good time because our dinner was 5 pm and free parking starts at 5:30. We got a $75 ticket for not paying for parking for that 30 minutes figuring what city worker is still out there at that time!!! Service was great, thank you to our server, sorry I didnt get your name. You were on top of things. For my husband and I our evening cost over $230 plus tip. Thats two 9 oz glasses of red wine, starter of bacon weapped scalloos, steak and salmon meals, with chocolate cake for dessert and the large Keg Irish Coffee. We were starved and were thankful for the hot fresh bread and garlic butter to start. Great food, great atmosphere, see you next year! 2023 Great night at The Keg. Like everything post Covid, prices went up but food was up to our expectations. There was eight of us and everyone enjoyed their meal. Service was great and we didnt feel rushed. Ended the night with specialty coffees while sharing desserts: double chocolate, cheesecake and creme brule. Will definitely be going back but will be sure to book sooner since its not easy getting an earlier time with a bigger group. Parking: BEWARE we got a $75 ticket when we figured parking after 5 pm is fine. Its not, you get ticketed up to 5:30 pm. Parking downtown is challenging. Best to plan for a parking garage.

Served by Kathleen, smiley, pro, perfect service, first talked to her in english, served us all the way in french as we are french. Really enjoyed my evening.

Visited the restaurant on my Anniversary with my wife. Was seated in the bar and connected very well with the server. Food was spectacular, wine was very reasonably priced. The ambient noise was rather louder than I expected / am comfortable with. However, it is inline with other downtown environments.

On the check mark. They respected my request for my table to the letter. The service is always excellent and so is the food.

My partner took me out here for Valentine s Day and we had such a great time! The food was amazing, the service was quick and the atmosphere was inviting/cozy! Thank you to our server Dylan, for being exceptional and making our night wonderful!!

Food was cooked perfectly to our request, extremely friendly staff. Our server suggested the garlic baked shrimp, they were banging, and I know bangers.

Nice experience as I expected KEG! We ordered aged rib Steak 18 oz ! Great size to share for 2! They cut it and put it in 2 plate for us! Awesome! However the steak seems to be normal steak not aged ine! We try aged steak in Montreal & Niagara but this one is a little seems to be normal steak! Other than that everything is great ! The drink is fabulous

Our Valentines Day dinner date was perfect! We sat by a romantic fireplace and enjoyed our steaks and wine. Everything was perfect!

Amazing steak, great service, lovely atmosphere. Everything you would expect from the Keg! Vegetarian options: Not many, but still delicious. Cauliflower bake, our Vegan loved it!

We went around Christmas and it was packed. Definitely call ahead and reserve. It took a while for us to get service once seated but the place was super busy. They gave us the option of eating in the bar so that was nice. The food was better than remembered. I have dietary restrictions that require me to limit my red meat consumption and there were enough choices available for me that I had to think a little. Wife got some ribs, I got lobster tails, and we had some veg as a side for sharing. MORE than enough food, my wife had to take the rest of hers in a takeout box. As mentioned it took a while to get served when seated. We sat around for a bit, waved down a waiter to tell them, and then got served. Server was excellent btw, it was just that initial wait time while seated. Usually waiters should come within 10minutes of being seated. Again, it was around Christmas and they were obviously busy so I doubt this delay was normal

One of the most delicious meals I have ever had. Pistachios crusted salmon, garlic mashed potatoes and maple brussels sprouts with a side of asparagus and scallops in bernaise sauce. Dietary restrictions: All gluten free

Everything was petfect. I had the salmin which was really good. We are french and our waiter Dan made the effort to speak french to us. Great service!
