This place is so good I ve been there twice in one day on three separate occasions.

A busy lively place with excellent food and outstanding staff.

Vegan option was tasty and healthy. Full house but food came pretty quick and ambiance was nice

We added our name to the waitlist and waited for over an hour, before we returned to the restaurant to check up on our reservation after receiving no call. Several names on the waitlist below us were crossed off, and seeing as it was literally just a few minutes after 1:00pm, we were told we could not order brunch. It seems they just totally forgot us. The waitress was also rude, unpleasant, and cranky. Only giving this 2 stars because the food we ended up getting was good, but it was an overall disappointing experience especially because they just never called us.

Reasonable prices decent quality, servers are very good nice atmosphere

The menu may be small but the food is delicious The beer is an excellent combination of craft and more popular brews. The staff round this out for an all around excellent experience.

I didnt think you could still get a great meal so cheaply in Ottawa. I got an eggs benny, a side of beans, and coffee for $22 after the tip. And the eggs benny order included a tasty salad. Everything was great. No wait to get in, and the service was quick and friendly.

I love this place. Prices, portions, quality and service are all outstanding. The atmosphere is cozy and fun. The only ding I can offer up is minor - the place is justifiably popular so expect to need to call ahead and expect it to be on the noisy side during peak periods. But seriously go here.

If you go for brunch, the Mish Mash Hash is a must try. The staff is friendly and attentive, making sure every detail of your visit is perfect. This spot is a winner. It s clear they care about quality and the customer experience. Highly recommend checking it out!

Best place on earth.

Affordable food and drinks, in a rustic interior. It can get quite loud sometimes, but its a fun spot to meet up with friends for a bite or some beers. Would absolutely recommend checking this place out, no matter the time of day.

The Third is one of my go-to spots for breakfast. I love coming here when I want to enjoy a meal outside. The food is excellent, and it stands out in Ottawa for offering simple breakfast dishes at a great price. The restaurant operates on a first-come, first-served basis, which can be a bit challenging. Today, we arrived early, put our name down, and ended up waiting 40 minutes instead of the anticipated 20. To add to that, despite our request for patio seating on a beautiful day, we were told the patio was closed due to the presence of many wasps. Nevertheless, we would have preferred to sit outside, as the indoor area is quite loud, crowded, and had a couple wasps looming around as well. This lack of organization, coupled with the no-reservation policy, made for a frustrating experience on what could have been a beautiful outdoor brunch.

Doesn t advertise that they stop brunch at 1pm. Waited 40 min to be seated and told that they don t serve at 1:15

Great food and lots of it at great prices. If you re on a diet, this isnt a good spot for you.

Had breakfast here with a friend. I got the eggs Benedict (with tomatoes instead of ham) and was quite happy with the meal. The salad dressing was lemon-y and delicious. The prices were very reasonable and I look forward to coming back to try more of their menu.

It is a nice cozy place indoors and outdoors with very good food and awesome service and priced perfect. I simply wish they had more food options to select from and was a bit less loud.

Best spot in town?

The food was good. But it was so loud and incredibly hot. Some air conditioning was needed.

Our server knew the options inside out, took the time to be cool and chat with us and the food was a ten. Not much else to say - awesome.

Always amazing service, food and atmosphere. If you can get in and hear your dining companions. If youre sensitive to crowd noise, I would suggest grabbing a spot on the patio.

Good food for a good price

If you re looking for somewhere to get lunch, this isn t the place to go. Although the pricing for food is very inexpensive, I d recommend going here only if you re just wanting to grab a drink. Our food was very dry, room temperature, and small in portion size.

This place is a treasure. Shes a reasonably priced good vibe machine. Its our neighborhood staple. 10/10. Never change.

Popped in for a late lunch on the weekend. The Third has a great atmosphere with very reasonable prices. Our server was fantastic and attentive even though it was quite busy at the time.

The Third One third the cost.. yet three times the quality Went to Third for lunch and beers with the buddies, the staff were super friendly, we sat on a nice patio and we were surprised by the prices right off the bat. Food came, looked incredible and all made in house from what the waitress said. Beer selection was great as well. Easily a new favorite spot on wellington. See you again soon. MH

Service was fast and very friendly, and I never felt rushed. I had the patty melt with brisket - it was excellent, and the food was well seasoned. The portion size is nice (and not too big either) and the price was very reasonable for the quantity and quality. Definitely a place I would go to again!

The place is nice and theres an outside patio that is mostly shaded (the front is full sun). I had the breakfast nachos, which are basically nachos with two eggs on top, nothing special, but they are good nachos.

Never disappoints. Went with the kids and all of them got exactly what they wanted, and all meals were excellent. Bit of a wait for food because it was busy but worth the wait.

I ate the Fish n Chips - it was only ok. Crispy outside to a degree - and soggy inside. Fries is just ok Food

This is the best restaurant/bar in Ottawa. The food is phenomenal and at is at an affordable price. The service is always great and all the staff are all such nice people. It may take you a bit longer to get in on the weekends for brunch but it s worth the wait.

Twice now Ive walked over on a Monday that I was off work. Sadly, I ended up at the Senate across the street both times because you were closed. No other complaints.

Food was great and service was fast and friendly. Had the classic brunch and was pleasantly surprised with how tasty everything was! Asked for poached eggs and they were cooked perfectly. Atmosphere was a bit noisy, but other than that it was a great spot for brunch.

Loved this place ever since it opened. Friendly bright space. Delicious affordable food. I come here weekly with my toddler for brunch. First thing though because it fills up fast.

Food was ok, prices are good and the portions reflect why. My main gripe was the slow service (like 30 minutes just to get a beer and take my order), as well as needing a reservation to eat somewhere that serves basic diner food. There must be something others see here that I dont.

Went for 10:30am brunch with friends, only half hour wait time- seated by 11am, short wait time for food and friendly staff. I had the friend chicken french toast which was on the specialty menu at the time - the chicken was nice and crispy, the blue berry syrup/ compote was a nice surprise and the french toast was soft enough to soak up the syrup and flavour without being too soggy. Price was very reasonable and service was great- a solid 4/5. The server was great! Attentive and pleasant. The atmosphere was nice, but it got really loud at times. The food was a complete disappointment. We had the fish and chips and turkey club, both were not good. The batter on the fish was soft and spongy, the bread on the sandwich tasted freezer burned. The overall food quality is poor. You get what you pay for. We will not be back.

Great location and atmosphere, and honestly shockingly great prices for their food. Menu is unique and has something for everyone. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. However do note that it can get very busy and wait times can get a bit long.

Trying my best not to be a Karen but god this wait was nothing like I never experienced. Came for brunch at 12 which ends at 1 took our number and said the wait would be about 30 mins after 40 mins we go in to check how long the wait was going to be she says 10-15 mins which was fine with me but now it s been more than 2 hours since we came and still haven t received a call. Would ve appreciated letting us know if the wait was going to be this long 2 hours and 30 mins still haven t received a call as I m writing this

Great food with cheap prices! They were so good we came back the next day for breakfast as well. The service is also very friendly. It seems like the kinda place that has lots of regulars which is always a good sign. Coffee is average but that is the only think they could improve.

Went for lunch and was blown away. The crispy chicken sandwich was exactly what I ve always dreamed of. The chicken was juicy but the breading was so crispy. The sandwich did not get sloppy or soggy at all. Prices were so cheap for such good food too. Service was just ok, but it was also very busy and I think the vibe was meant to be very casual. Server did seem disappointed we didn t order any alcohol however.

This place was incredibly busy on a friday at 3:30pm. We luckliy were able to be seated. It def has a bar vibe to it with loud music and loud conversations being had. Its hard to hear your table friends with this type of volume. The waitress was very personable and friendly. Probably one of the best servers Ive had in a while. The food is def well priced but the quality reflects the prices. The chicken ceasar salad was $13.50 + tax/tip and it was a very generous portion. The chicken however was over fried and was lacking seasoned salt. It was pretty much just a breaded/fried piece of chicken. The salad was lacking cesar dressing/parmesan cheese which would have helped with the lack of salt. Again this would probaly be around $19-23 at other restaurants so its a good deal overall. I would return to try something different like the burger and ask to be seated at the front of the restaurant where its a little quieter with less drunk people talking so loudly.

I really liked this place. The good is priced very well, everything tasted fresh and it was delicious. My only beef with this place is that its pretty loud, and also the chairs are terrible. You sit down and feel like youre going to fall through it. They move and creak and its very unnerving.

I went to have a dinner and a drink with a friend on a Tuesday after work in February 2024. I can only offer positive comments about my visit. The staff was helpful and attentive and my chicken burger and fries were delicious.

My absolute favourite place for brunch. The eggs Benedict are perrrrfect and I adore they come with a side of fresh greens. The Hollandaise sauce is perfectly balanced with the key touch of acidy that is missing in so many other restaurants. Id only add 4 capers (that would make it out of this worldl!). Their hot sauce is terrific as well. Their service is spot on. Their Mimosa is boosy (as it shoudl be!). The setting and deco are interesting, inviting and different (love it!).

I did a double take when I saw the prices on the menu and had to check I hadnt gone back in time 20 years. Mains for $13 or under? Appetizers under $10? In this economy? I thought I was going to have to be on dish duty in the kitchen afterwards to make up the difference, but no, you can stop pinching yourself. Its not a dream. Its The Third on Wellington. Oh, and the food is delicious.

I loved my meal at The Third and I cant wait to go back. You can tell they care a great deal about the quality and taste of the food they serve. They also provide very cordial and attentive service. It was one of the most comforting dining experiences I had in the city. I cant wait to go back and explore more of the menu.

This is one of the best kept secrets in Ottawa. Great food at an extremely reasonable price. Great breakfast place. Anytime there is a lineup to get in before it being open is a sign it is the place to be! Highly recommended. Old bar-like setting while warm and comfortable at the same time. Long bar runs along the length of the establishment.

best meal I ve had in a very long time

I ate simply, but the food was delicious and plenty on the plate. The service was excellent, and the eclectic space was interesting. All in all, it was a great experience.

Hands down the best breakfast Ive had all year. Im excited to go back and try lunch and dinner menus too! I had the savory tart with bacon and oh my my it was delish. Hand made pastry with a sunnyside egg on top. I also had the fried chicken add on and it was hiding under a perfectly cooked fresh egg. The flavours were amazing and the hand made quality of the hot sauce and jam for toast was impeccable. Bravo to the chefs and the servers were also amazing and really authentically enjoyed being there.

Almost don t want to rate this place so high because more people will go but honestly this is the best place. Food is amazing. Beers are great. Staff is the best in town.

Amazing food, great service but its very cramped and very loud so if you are sensitive to auditory/crowds maybe go in the afternoon before the evening dinner rush comes. I had a great meal, but it was just a little TOO overestimating for me at dinner.

I called and ordered take away. I had the club sandwich and fries, which is the same order from my first visit a couple of months ago. The fries had too much salt on them both times, but the club sandwich is very good. I like the reasonable prices and the selection of food available. I will definitely eat here again and would recommend it.

The Third is a great neighborhood restaurant on Wellington St. in Ottawa. We went for lunch on a Tues. It was very busy. Great service, delicious food - brisket sandwich w caesar salad. Just what we wanted. Well be going back.

Where do I begin!? EVERYTHING here is fabulous! From the portions (not a plate full of frozen, fried potato chunks! to the homemade freshness of everything they make, to the playlist (70s Soul Classics! last time), to the way they top your coffee up, and dont forget thier amazing and friendly staff. Damn! I cant say enough! (Shhhhh....TBH, I thought about not posting this just so I can still get a spot when I go!) But, its the wait to get in even IF theres a lineup! Amazing food with even better prices! With the costs of everything on the rise, its nice to see a decent price on a menu! The staff were great and friendly. The portions are just what youd want for a meal. Id recommend the patty melt or the chicken sandwich! Be sure to get there early as it fills up quick on the weekend!

You will be back, as soon as you try this lovely place you fall in love. Great flavourful food, prices are more than fair and the staff is so friendly. I ve heard from numerous friends how great the breakfast is, and will be trying that next. Sweet potato fries are one of my favourites here as well as the crispy chicken sandwich tossed in hot n honey!
