The first Sushi Shop restaurant opened its doors in 2000 at the Atwater Market and since then, the Quebec chain has become a predecessor in the Asian cuisine. As soon as the customer walks through the door, they know they are about to have a memorable experience in one of our Japanese restaurants. Crispy Rolls, Poke Bowls, Sushi Tacos, Sushi Burrito, Sushi Pizza, Combos, Vegetarian options, Hosomaki, Nigiri, Sashimi, Maki and Sumomaki to name only a few. You can order your sushi for take-out or for delivery. To find the services offered at your local sushi restaurant, please visit our website.
Absolutely wonderful service from masters of their craft. The food is absolutely delicious and I refuse to go anywhere else for my sushi addiction. The service is friendly and incredibly professional. I highly recommend the Cherry Blossom, and my wife recommends the DragonBerry Green Tea with Strawberry Popping Pearls. My only issue is it never lasts long enough!
Was so excited to know that a bubble tea shop is so close to my work. Unfortunately the worker was extremely displeased to see two customers check out the menu and order two small $8 drinks. I guess we interrupted his phone time. Now I’m too afraid to go here so I’ll do without! No time for tiny bubbles.
Love sushi shop. However this is the second time my salmon nigiri is swapped for smoked salmon. I ordered the omega combo not sure why it got switched - the smoked salmon is not what is listed nor what I like. You can tell the colour of the salmon is lighter, defs check before you leave. Not impressed… everything else was good..
I used to order delivery from them a few years back and i feel like they’ve gone down since. The store itself is dark and doesn’t look so welcoming? However they are one of the only sushi restaurants that offer temari bombs. They also offer bubble tea
For a quick work lunch, ordered the passion salmon & tuna poke from Ritual with an in-app $5 off. First time seeing a passion fruit poke and it was extremely fitting - loved the sweet, tropical flavour that it brings! Loved the sauce as well. Satisfied with the bowl overall. However, while I was happy with the portion given the discounted price, I would feel the portion to be on the smaller end had I gone with the original price, as I became hungry again by mid-afternoon. Would suggest increasing the portion size given the price.
I am not a big sushi person so I was not sure what to expect coming here. To my pleasant surprise, the vegetarian combo plate I ordered was quite good, while the vegetable tempura was tasty. For the combo plate, I was able to sample avocado rolls, Inari, sumomaki, and other rolls. By the end of my lunch I was very satisfied, and to my surprise left with the desire to come back another day to try other dishes.
Really enjoyed their sushi from here! Great variety to choose from with fresh ingredients. Good portion and price.
The best prepared takeout I’ve ever had from Sushi Shop! The portions were perfect and actually looked like to ad pictures. Tasted great too!
Very fresh and tasty, loved it!
Honestly, I do not want to be mean but worst customer service ever, this place is really bad, small portions compared to other Sushi shop, I went 3 times and nothing changed, never again
I ordered the Umami Poke bowl from this location for pick-up, and when I returned home I saw that half the ingredients from my bowl were missing. There was only salmon, lettuce, sauce, and nori. Missing was the avocado, cucumber, crispy onions, and tobiko. Very disappointed considering it costs close to $20. Will no be ordering from this location again
Bad service
The cashier tried to overcharge me. It is far too expensive for the portions and I ended up getting sick shortly after. Service is awfully slow and theres much better sushi elsewhere.
Truth be told I never got into the store! The clerk taking orders did his best to keep a client out! I felt like I was interrogated for ordering a few rolls of sushi! It would be funny, if it weren t so sad as the proverb goes! I would be worried for my business if it were mine!
Impressive! Thank you again, Sushi Shop on Sparks!
Thats $30 flushed down the toilet. Stopped in for a quick lunch and regret that choice. Live and learn.
Love the sushi!

Customer service is great super nice and friendly. Try salmon and tuna poke with crispy rice! Food
Second time I have ordered from this Sushishop and each time the recipes have not been completely respected. The first time, they replaced the fried sweet potato on my Lion roll with large pieces of fried dumpling, without warning me that they were out of it before handing it back to me (as if it tasted the same). Second time around, there was clearly less shrimp in my PokeBowl than the original recipe. I know this as I am a former assistant manager with 8 years of experience at Sushishop. Plus with the schedules that make no sense. A little disappointing this branch.
Catastrophic taste, very questionable salmon, medieval toilets, haunted house atmosphere. Public non-existent the idea of going directly to parliament to complain.
My first time going here. It was absolutely amazing. Had a combo plate K, which was amazing. Will definitely be coming back.
This is the place I always go when Im downtown during the week. I order online and pickup myself. They are always friendly and efficient. The poke bowls are tasty and fresh! Im really glad they survived the pandemic so I can keep going back to get my favourite lunch! Just remember to order ahead as they make everything fresh and it can get quite busy (this is not a grab and go place, its a made to order fresh place).
Arrived in Ottawa for a late lunch and found this Sushi shop to be very rude. The customer service was the worst that my family and I have experienced in Canada so far, plus they didn t give us what we paid for. Would definitely not recommend this shop.
My wife and I were looking for quick takeout lunch. It took over 25 minutes to receive our order... the least the staff couldve done is let us know prior to ordering how long it might take... their washroom was also in disgusting condition that looked like it hadnt been cleaned in months. We picked Sushi Shop because the franchise normally has great service and quality but this location really missed the mark. No response a month after emailing the company as per their request in their reply.
If I could give it zero stars I would. The drink tasted like dawn dish soap and then I discovered there was a fruit fly in my drink.
WAY too expensive. Guess thats what happens at chain places. Will be sticking to local more affordable places. Good food though but will not be going back unless they lower prices to something that actually makes sense.
Decent food. However the staff are horrible. I ve tried to give this place 3 tries in the past month and each time I pre ordered lunch directly from their website. Every single time I arrived at the time the website said my order would be READY they hadn t even started the order and were making food ordered later by people in the restaurant before making mine. Even though I paid for and placed my order hours earlier.
Located close to down town and the parliament building. Sushi was received quickly and was nicely presented. The taste was there and recommend this as a stop for either dine in or take out.
This place is most certainly our favourite sushi place. Every item is so fresh and warm, the vegetarian options are amazing as well! They have great packaging and the service is great.
I ordered online and specifically asked for no sauces to be used. Guess what my poke bowl was doused in once it arrived? Some sort of sweet sauce. Now mind you I am trying to control my blood sugar here so the whole order had to go to waste. The other thing, don t expect more than a handful of whatever protein choice you choose for your poke bowl order. I even paid extra for more salmon to be added and they still put the tiniest bit of salmon in there. I was beyond disappointed and trust me you will be too.
Not open
Waited for over 30 minutes but there were no employees in the store. This is awful customer service and also pretty terrible security
Sushi was good, had to wait a bit, but it was fresh and tasty.
Not a good attitude.
The sushi was alright but the salmon poke bowl had way too much soya sauce which covered the taste of anything else in the plate.
I ordered from here off of Uber Eats, and finished my night with food poisoning. No sleep, and a waste of money.
The sushi was good and the service was fantastic :)
They served delicious sushi ever
10 minutes before one of the two employees took our order. Never got a greeting. 20 minutes in total to have two bubble teas. Suffocating heat and humidity. No music or ambiance. My pregnant partner has to go to the bathroom, horror, disgusting bathroom. Not great! At least the bubble teas were good .
Super delicious and very fresh ingrediants, no browning on any of the veg even though it was ordered close to close. Just wish they added a little more rice.
Good food and really bad costumer service.
I was very disappointed in my order from this location. My order of vegetable tempura was a total waste of money. The pieces were tiny!
How slow the food making is!You never know how long you need to be waiting there maybe more than an hour as me,and can t be refund or cancel order if you place the order on their website.
Ordered ahead. Wanted brown rice got white. Cucumbers. A few chunks of avocado and sad iceberg lettuce. My treat wasnt much of a treat. So disappointing. And shredded fake crab stick. OMG.
I ordered some teriyaki bombs but it was just a deep-fried ball of rice with some crab in it, no shrimp or sauce of any kind making it a bit brutal to eat. Id imagine they would be pretty good with sauce though
Excellent
Great Sushi place for anyone on the go looking for a quick bite to eat. Awesome prices for the quality, Good customer service and all kinds of new and exciting ways to try a new twist on some of your favorite sushi dishes
Food wasn t that great and we ordered a vegetarian and they gave us one with shrimp, a totally different order. Because of covid we order to eat at home and were very disappointed to have thrown away most of the food!! I don t recommend it!
Nice sushi and I love their poke bowl
Love their food, and the service is good as usual.
The chef is professional and willing to help. I called to ask about food allergies, and she answered those questions in detail. When I received the food, it was packed tightly and clean. It s as neat as eating in the store. Salmon, lettuce and avocado are both very fresh. The freshness of salmon is the best among all fast food restaurant in Ottawa. I used to think that fast food is just to fill up my stomach. Until I ate the salmon bowl, I finally realized that eating fast food could be a pleasure. This is five-star dining experience, I will order from this Sushi Shop frequently.
Decent sushi and clean package. Veggies are fresh. The rice is very nice, even after the delivery time. It tastes exactly same as in store. Delivery is fast and the service is great. A good choice for sushi in quarantine.
Chicken Karaage appetizer was very cheaply made - it is not traditional Japanese breading. Did not receive a lemon wedge with it as is noted on the menu. The company also puts sugar in the soya sauce so this was a real surprise for someone with a medical condition effected by sugar. In the soya sauce, geez!
A priori looks original, but result is disappointing. Called ahead for a large order and obviously got days end leftovers. Ok but not fresh. Comparable though to other Ottawa spots.
Quickly done, well done!
Nice food
The sushi was pretty good here, but it wasnt the best weve had. I found that the salmon on the regular sushi tasted a bit off. I order a combo meal and they were missing some of the options, which isnt the biggest deal. The restaurant itself was quite nice, although the washrooms were a little dirty. The sushi chef was courteous and nice to us.
I didn t try the sushi but I had a veggie poke bowl that was fresh and tasty! I found the restaurant temperature too warm but it was nice otherwise.
In love with this sushi
While I realize Im speaking from Toronto experience, where theres relatively a lot of sushi competiton compared to Ottawa, I have to say that this place offered probably the worst sushi experience Ive had -- including what Ive seen and (unfortunately) eaten at notorious Kyoto House in Toronto. The menu and its photos are misleading. The food I ordered neither visually resembled the fantastic photos in the menu, nor did it contain some of the ingredients listed. When I brought this to the attention of the solitary staffperson -- which took some time, as he appeared to be avoiding people in the back room -- he appeared to not even be sure what the missing ingredients were by name. Otherwise, the meal itself looked and tasted cheap -- cheaper than mall food court sushi. It was anemic, like the place was running out of ingredients, and overwhelmed by a drenching of weirdly sweet sauce. In short, I was impressed by the menu, but felt deceived by the actual product. I dont feel confident in trying the new blossom items on their menu, for fear of what sadness I might end up with vis a vis what the items look and read like. Im morbidy curious as to what their $50+ chefs choice platters would look like in reality, as the restaurant does not appear to employ any actual sushi chefs. I recommend walking a bit further and spending $1-3 more for low-end all-you-can-eat. At least youll have some variety! On the plus side, this place seems to function as a local public restroom more than a restaurant -- I saw 0 other customers, but 4 cyclists waltz through to use the washroom, unnoticed and definitely not interested in the food.
Delicious and wonderful staff!!
Great place to sit and enjoy the rib fest
Their poke bowls are delicious!
Poke bowl is very plain barely any veggies as mentioned.
Great food. Fast service.
Love the sushi burritos. Not cheap though.
Good Quality and good service:
Pretty good for takeout Sushi in central Ontario!
They dont take debit.
Delicious, lovely decor. Check out is a bit slow. Limited seating inside, patio space outside is an option in warmer weather. You can order ahead or pick up a take out box from the cooler.
Pretty decent little sushi, prepared fresh on site. Fairly quick service. Interesting Sushi Burrito with mangoes. For those in a hurry, assortments prepared in the fridge. Small terrace.
Compare with other sushi shop, this one has the smallest portion of everything.
Wonderful sushi I typically order the fresh sushi here rather than the bento boxes. The sushi I have found to be fresh, well made and flavourful. The only thing they have trouble with (or did) was hand rolls. If you want great sushi and dont want to break the bank, this is a great little lunch spot.
